Lesley Jacobs work Pursuing Equal Opportunities first sets out to provide a theoretical model from

Jacobs to set the foundation for his equal opportunities ideal in opposition to John Rawls who objected
to equal opportunities on the basis of natural inequalities. One of the most shocking parts of this book
is Jacobs claim that natural inequalities are a myth, therefore an argument for equal opportunities in
place of the Rawlsian ideas including the difference principle (Inequalities are ok as long as those
disadvantaged by them benefit more than if they did not exist) can be revitalized. Personally, I was on
the edge of my seat reading this because being persuaded by such a statement would be tantamount to
a sort of freedom I could not possibly imagine on my own. Despite these inclinations to want Jacobs
to persuade me, I had reservations. Jacobs argument rests on a social constructionist perspective that I
am actually partly in favour of and reminds me of a quote I hold

Differences Between Dauntless Book And Book
It is always quite exciting when a novel is adapted to be shown as a movie. I m usually in the habit of
comparing and analyzing if the movie version was faithful to the book. Many times the movie director
and screenwriters have to decide whether to include certain scenes or not. This aspect is controlled by
the rating they want the movie to end up with, depending on their target audience. I found a number of
differences between Roth s novel and the movie. In my opinion the general imagery of the movie
matched the one of the book. For example, I imagined the choosing ceremony to look like just like it
did in the movie. Also, Tris house, school, neighborhood, the Erudite headquarters and the dauntless
train matched the vision in my head. One thing that didn t match in my opinion was the Dauntless

My educational past is complicated to say the least. Starting in the fourth grade, my mother pulled me
out of traditional schooling to homeschool me, while she ran a home daycare; however, while the idea
of being homeschool sounded great in the mind of a fourth grader my mind of a 20 year old knows
this wasn t the best idea for my educational experience. Until about the 8th grade my mother, an
alcoholic, rather than teaching me used me to work in her daycare while she grew more and more
incapable due to her growing addiction. Starting in the 8th grade I began to attend a co op funded by
the Tahoma school district, (Russell Ridge Center). Once I began making connections with both peers
and teachers, I began to realize how much I had missed out on both social and educational standards

Gustavo Diaz Ordaz became president of the United States of Mexico in 1964, years before the
massacre, that took place in October 2, 1968 at la plaza de las Tres Culturas in Mexico city, better
