Abstract:
With the advent of modern technology, the way our culture consumes music has changes dramatically
in the last ten years. With technology developing as rapidly as it is; music piracy has been prosperous
while traditional music sales have declined. This essay explores how cloud based music services have
affected music consumption and piracy.
Key Terms:
Music Piracy illegal downloading or sharing of copyrighted music without purchasing.

Over the past decade, cloud streaming has made its way into consumer s lives. These cloud services
allow users to access music from a central database via a website. Users can access this music for free.
But only as long as they are connected to the internet. Consumers may also choose to purchase a
subscription to these sites which eliminates advertisements and allows unlimited listening online or
off. Cloud streaming services have made a large impact on the music industry. It has made such a
sizeable impact that Billboard has created a chart for streamed music.
Cloud streaming services provide access through subscriptions which are often paid. Meanwhile
piracy offers users free and unlimited access to all music without any limitations. Almost all
consumers of pirated music claim that the practice of piracy does not hurt the music industry at all.
The book Moser on Music Copyright (2006) argues that piracy does in fact hurt the music industry by
examining a study produces by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The RIAA
estimates that piracy costs the music industry $300,000,000 in the United States alone. While the
United States loss may seem large, the Global loss amounts to roughly $5,000,000,000. In 2004 alone,
roughly 34%, of all CD sales, were pirated copies (p. 83). Consumers feel okay with justifying piracy
because of the way the music industry appears to be thriving. The music industry appears to be
thriving because of

Cognitive Dissonance In Friends
Cognitive dissonance means feeling tension when our thoughts and beliefs are inconsistent. An
example of this is when people smoke even though they are aware of the consequences that can occur
such as cancer which leads to cognitive dissonance. This occurs almost everyday in our lives, whether
we are aware of it or not. An one example that was shown on one of the episodes of Friends made us
aware of this happening. Friends is a sitcom which aired on television in 1994 and ended in 2004. It is
about six best friends, Chandler, Joey, and Ross, Monica, who is Ross s brother, Phoebe and Rachel
who are living in New York City. Though out the show we see that Monica falls in love with Chandler,
and Rachel falls in love with Ross. However, at the beginning of the show we see, Ross and Rachel
hook up which causes problems in their relationship. In the last season we see that Ross and Rachel
realize that they love each other so they get back together. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rachel decides to tell the news to Ross, but Ross is not taking the news well. Furthermore, we see
Ross is being awfully distressed in this situation and surprised by Rachel s pregnancy. Ross is
experiencing cognitive dissonance because he thinks that he and Rachel were being cautious and he
did not want to have a baby with Rachel as it was not planned and had not had a previous romantic
relationship with each other. Nevertheless the pregnancy occurred, she wound up pregnant which led
to the feeling of discomfort. Ross s discomfort and tension left him feeling uncomfortable that could
possibly effect his ego and self confidence and could make him feeling self conscious and because of
that he is feeling

Today s China is both a status quo power and a revisionist power
The People s Republic of China (PRC) has become more integrated and willing to cooperate within
the global political and economic systems than ever in its history. However, there is growing
apprehension in the Asia Pacific region and the U.S. in regards to the consequences of rising in
economic and military power in China. Descriptions about Chinese diplomacy in the policy and
scholarly are less positive lately concerning China s obedience to regional and international rules.
There was little debate in the U.S. and elsewhere in regards to whether China was or was not part the
international community. Scholars and experts in the early 1990s have contended ... Show more

Revisionist states are seen as challengers who wants a new place or share for themselves in global
society proportionate with their power. Revisionist states are generally unsatisfied with their position
in the international society. They have a wish to modify the rules by which affairs among countries
work. Robert Gilpin who is amid pragmatist scholars, offers possibly the most precise discussion of
revisionist and status quo positioning. He simplifies by breaking down the rules of the game into
rather more operationalizable components: the distribution of power, the chain of command of status,
rights and norms that oversee relations among states.
Firstly, how do nation leaders say and act with respect to the exact norms. For example, of regional
diplomacy, of security institutes and of global commercial institutes? Secondly, how do state leaders
express and act in regards to the sharing of power internationally or regionally? Thirdly, how do they
say and act concerning the hierarchy of prestige. For Gilpin revisionist states attempt to basically
modify these three components. Anything less and it becomes challenging to call the state either
revisionist or non status quo. Increased contribution in global institutes may not essentially be a robust
indicator of status quo behaviour. Some might

Democracies are more likely to win “Total Wars” than...
The term total war has been attributed to a small number of conflicts. The term was originally coined
by the German military officer Erich Ludendorff in his book The Total War . Previous to this the
renowned military theorists Carl von Clausewitz and Antoine Henri Jomini both touched on the raw
principles of total war , but failing to ever recognise the term Ludendorff went on to fashion. It was
not until the 1950s that the term re emerged to describe the nature of the conflict during the First and
Second World Wars, whilst a number of wars previous to this have characteristics of total wars , the
primitive state of national economies and refusal to fully mobilise the economy purely for war can
explain why these conflicts were more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of violence to repress and monitor was a common theme used by dictators to control their
peoples. This was uncommon in democracies, for example the British Prime Minister Winston
Churchill did not have his own personal guard, answerable only to himself; it was Churchill who was
scrutinized by the people, the reverse of the situation pertaining in both Germany and the Soviet
Union. Totalitarianism endangers the stability of a nation as there will be growing internal unrest due
to the excesses of terrorism, the denial of rights and the inability of large segments of the population to
participate in public affairs . It was these basic democratic principles which were absent throughout
the totalitarian regimes of the 20th Century; as a single man s ideology was allowed to develop
unrestricted, with little input from either a strong government or the general public.
In the autocratic governments of wartime Europe the chain of command was rigidly maintained from
the top down, unlike democracies where the chain was more susceptible to variation. The effects of
the totalitarian administrative structure manifest themselves in subordinates inability to question
orders and policies which leads to further disregard for the negative consequences of such commands.
A fine example of this would be German high command s inability to make intuitive judgements
without the Fuhrer s expressed permission, on the day of

The Wife Of Baths Tale And Prologue And The Franklin s Tale
In The Wife of Bath s Tale and Prologue and The Franklin s Tale, the central theme is the relationship
between man and woman. There are different views of this relationship or marriage in these two tales:
either the woman has the power in the marriage granted from her husband, or the husband and wife
grant each other power in the marriage so neither dominates. The Wife of Bath begins her prologue by
explaining that she considers herself an authority of marriage due to her experience ; the Wife of Bath
says, Experience, though no authority/Were in this world, would be enough for me/To speak of woe
that married life affords;/For since I was twelve years of age, my lords,/Thanks be to God eternally
alive,/Of husbands at the church door I ve had five (Lines 1 6). Due to her five marriages, she has

could have in a lifetime (20 23). The Wife of Bath goes on to say that God gave men and women
instruments to use and the instruments are not just for urinating but for pleasure and procreation (134).
The Wife of Bath says, In wifehood I will use my instrument/As freely as my Maker has it sent./If I

China s Politics And Economy
In addition, China s politics and economy have great differences with western countries because of the
special national conditions, that the political power (or government) may have a prominent or even
overwhelming strength relative to the economy (or business), which may have a decisive influence on
economic development. First, the government lead economy has caused excessive pursuit of economic
development but neglect the quality of development (Zhou, Zhang Shen, 2015). Second is the
government s control and allocation of resources and the dominant mode of development of the state
owned economy have caused a series of problems like the loss of economic benefits to a certain extent
(Dollar, 1990). So the excessive concentration of political and administrative power caused by the low
degree legalization and democratization in Chinese economy may have resulted in some obstacles in
the economic development to enterprises, and this kind of rent seeking which has political power to
control economic resources and the right of examination and approval maybe one of the reasons
caused China s corruption and damaged the normal order of the market economy. In western
countries, companies could hire a lobby group to lobby government in order to gain some benefits and
a lot of countries such as the United States have the Federal Regulation of lobbying act that make
constraint on lobbying (Hansen Mitchell, 2000). But for enterprises in China, to develop good
relations ( Guanxi )

Evaluation Of A Likert Patient Preference Questionnaire Essay
As a result of the activities performed above, the following products were produced. Staff established
a Likert patient preference questionnaire (See Fig. 3 in Appendix). Also, each Likert item was scaled.
Barriers to testing were identified to include on the Likert questionnaire. Dependent variables
identified are patient preference before and after the procedure (de Wijkerslooth et al., 2010; Lin et al.,
2012); pain level, recovery monitoring, burden, differences in procedural time and recovery time
(Boellard, van der Paardt, Eberl, Hollmann, Stoker, 2011). Independent variables included age, sex,
ethnicity, region/center (Boellard et al., 2011). The study would involve four groups: Group 1:
Preference OC list with the willingness to undergo CTC (1875 subjects); Group 2: Preference OC list
not willing to undergo CTC (1875 subjects); Group 3: Preference CTC list with the willingness to
undergo OC (1875 subjects); Group 4: Preference CTC list not willing to undergo OC (1875 subjects).
Finally, a comprehensive report and images of the intestines and surround organs were devised for CT
colonography and colonoscopy. By assessing pre Likert questionnaires, the staff could provide the
necessary environment to make patients feel comfortable. By evaluating the post Likert
questionnaires, staff will be able to cater to the patient s needs better because they can truly see which
screening procedure the patient is most comfortable with. To evaluate specific Likert items, the

Edward Gein Social Control Theory
She s not missing, she s at the farm right now. This haunting quote comes from the mouth of one of
the most grotesque and brutal serial killers to ever live, Edward Gein. Edward was born on August
27th 1906 to an abusive alcoholic father, George Gein and an overly religious mother, Augusta Carter.
Along with Edward, George and Augusta gave birth to Edwards older brother Henry in 1902. The
family settled down in the little town of Lacrosse, Wisconsin where Augusta raised the young boys.
For the most part, her husband George was left out of the picture mainly because Augusta believed he
was a worthless alcoholic. This paper will discuss the connection between Edward s crimes and social
control theory in order to arrive at a conclusion as to why Gein committed the brutal murders he did.
Before we dive into Gein s criminal history and early life we need to understand why social control
theories differ from most other criminological theories. Social control theories tend to dive deeper into
the realm of Why didn t someone offend opposed to why did someone offend. Most criminological
theories seek to explain how the need to conform to society affects criminal development ,but social
control theories center around the idea that there are multiple outside factors that encourage ... Show

Colonialism and Post Colonial Ethnic Conflict in East...
From the end of the nineteenth century until the attainment of independence in the early 1960s, the
countries of East Africa were under the colonial administration of European empires. After decades of
foreign rule which saw unparalleled transformations within society, the post colonial states that
emerged have been blighted by ethnic conflict. It has been argued that the beliefs of British, Belgian
and German administrators led them to completely reorganise the societies they governed based on a
fictitious tribal model, and in the process they invented ethnicity. There is a great deal of debate on
this matter, though, and its continued relevance to contemporary politics only makes it more vigorous.

As Curtis Keim has pointed out, though, for Africans it is most often used in a very similar way to that
in which Europeans use ethnic group . Therefore, when we use ethnicity this will be, for some people,
synonymous with tribe ; however, it is best to avoid the latter and any accompanying connotations of
primitivism and backwardness, so that it is clear along what lines we are talking. Carola Lentz may
well have described ethnicity as the joker card , a word that can be introduced at any stage in the
game, replacing potentially more problematic phrases and assuming the characteristics we require of
it, but its introduction is made with the best intentions; in order that we may see ethnicity as a broad
and evolving concept that can indeed mean many things simultaneously. Sir Donald Cameron began
his post as the British governor of Tanganyika in early 1925. Charged with organising the colony s
administration, he made the following statement in July that year: It is our duty to do everything in our
power to develop the native on lines which will not westernise him... We must not destroy... the
African atmosphere, the African mind, the whole foundation of his race, and we shall certainly do this
if we sweep away all his tribal organisations. Cameron s views undoubtedly reflected those of much of
the British colonial administration in East Africa,

Anti-Drugs Policies in the 1960s Essay
Drugs have been influencing the ideas, culture, and music of America for ages. Illicit narcotics have
left the Union in a state of immense debt. Anti drug policies have been dumping billions upon billions
of dollars in prevention, punishment, and rehabilitation. From the roaring twenties, to the prohibition,
drugs have always been fought (Bailey). Most times, the drugs start off as medicines and end up being
harmful (Morris). Perhaps, the most prominent and influential eras of drug use in America are the two
decades of the 60 s and twenty years later, the 80 s. It may very well be that these two decades molded
America into what it is now. The sixties had a huge pull from conservative America of the post war
era. Vietnam veterans were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One score years later, LSD was being used recreationally by the new counterculture, or hippies. Many
people turned to this mind altering drug as way to experience nature, and the company of others. Why
would they use so many drugs? The counterculture was set on doing the opposite of what was seen as
the right way of doing things. They protested many of Nixon s policies and their use of drugs was one
form of protest, along with their music and free love. They wanted to create friction between the
government and the people. The movement was so strong that it pushed on into the early 70 s.
Television sitcoms, like That 70 s Show, point out the strong impact of drug use left by the sixties with
the main characters constantly joining in circles and smoking Marijuana. LSD has impacted the music
and culture of America the most. The Beatles are a rock band that came from England. Their music
became a hit in the United States during the sixties and early seventies, in what became known as the
British Invasion. Some of their songs, like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds are hidden ways of saying
LSD (Nagle). People would gather together in large music festivals, to partake in the enjoyment of
listening to some their favorite bands and among other things to smoke marijuana and take acid.
Woodstock was a 3 day music festival taking place in the town of Bethel, New York. It was the biggest
congregation of the counterculture at the time. Some 400,000 people went to listen to

Root Cause Analysis Paper
Define a root cause analysis and when it is used. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is a controlled method
used to analyze serious adverse events. Originally developed to analyze industrial accidents, RCA is
now commonly organized as an error investigation tool in health care. A principal theory of RCA is to
identify fundamental problems that increase the probability of errors while avoiding the trap of
focusing on mistakes by individuals. RCA thus uses the systems approach to identify both active
errors: errors occurring at the point of interface between humans and a complex system and dormant
errors: the hidden problems within health care systems that contribute to adverse events. It is one of
the most widely used methods for detecting safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
RCAs are one of the most used methods to improving patient safety. However, much of the problem
lies in how RCAs are understood rather than in how they perform, since there is no agreement on how
hospitals should follow up on RCA data. This limits the usefulness of RCAs as a quality improvement
tool. Another issue is that few devices exist for analysis of multiple RCAs across institutions. As an
individual case study of a specific error, analysis of multiple RCAs performed at different institutions
may help identify patterns of error and point the way toward many solutions (Ewen Bucher, 2013;
Root Cause Analysis, 2014; Utah Department of Administrative Services, 2013). This tool is easy to
use and requires little or no training. It identifies the underlying causes of problems. However, it also
assumes that systems and events are interrelated, which may not always be the case (Root Cause
Analysis, 2015). Outline the steps to conduct a root cause analysis. To determine the cause of an error

Birth Order Argumentative Analysis
In this article, I feel like the author either had children or had siblings. The way this passage talks
about the importance of birth order, it is a very good argument to someone who does not believe that it
s not important. The author does get the point across very well. To me, the point of view seems to be
that children get different attention, depending on the number of siblings or just being a only child.
You really do not understand what the birth order actually means, until you really think about from
psychology kind of way. That is how this article really is based off of, like how he starts the article.

Eckstein and Kaufman point out that perceptions and beliefs about birth order may have their effects,
in large part, because parents impose their own stereotypes onto their children. By assigning these
stereotyped birth order roles, which may interact with gender roles, parents create self fulfilling
prophecies among their brood. You come to feel like the leader, if you re a first born, because you
were handed this role early in your life. Say if a mother has more than one child, the oldest (to the
parents) should be the best behaved. As explained by Stewart, using Adler s framework, the first born
(or one with the oldest role) would be most likely to take on a leadership position, like when people
stick to rules and order, and strive toward achievement goals. The firstborn may be sensitive to being
dethroned by younger sibs who drain away the attention of parents that the firstborn enjoyed before
they came along. (pg. 4, 30 34) Firstborn items on the PBOI tap feelings of being powerful, important,
leading, and achieving (It is important for me to do things right ). (pg. 5,

Comparing Gilgamesh And The Characteristics Of A Sumer King
This epic illustrates the characteristics and duties of a Sumer king. As king of Sumer, Gilgamesh was
chosen by gods to conquer, defend, and rule over the people. The kings cared about their name and
legacy as shown when Gilgamesh joined with Enkidu to fight Humbaba If I should fall, my name will
be secure. It was Gilgamesh who fought against Huwawa! It is Gilgamesh who will venture into the
forest and cut down the Cedar down and win the glory. My fame will be secure to all my sons. (p. 17).
Here we learn that that the king of Sumer is in charge of conquering enemies. We also learn that the

Goddess designed the model for his body, she prepared his form... beautiful, handsomest of men,

The Relationship Between Discipline and Obidience from...
Montessori Philosophy
Question: Explain the relationship between discipline and obedience from the Montessori perspective.
Explain how discipline and obedience are linked to the development of the will.
Maria Montessori (1988) believed that the discipline of a child is something to come, not something
that is already present. It means discipline must be stimulated, observed and let it grow by itself. How
to start stimulating or awakening discipline inside a child? Montessori says, an individual is
disciplined when he is the master of himself and when he can, as a consequence, control himself when
he must follow a rule of life (Montessori, 1997, p. 51).

In a sense that when a child does the exercise repeatedly, he/she will be able to independently realize
or note should he/she make any mistake. By being able to do so, subsequently for the next opportunity
he/she will make sure that he/she should not do the same error again, which means he/she could
correct the error by himself/herself.
Obedience could be attained only when a child has fully developed and controlled his/her will, and
he/she freely chooses to follow other s instruction or orders. This could happen because the child
recognizes that the person who gives the order loves him/her and is more knowledgeable than him/her,
also this child is sure that the order given will be useful to perfect his/her skill.
Having explained the discipline and obedience, now we could conclude that these two features will
only be developed in a child if he/she is already able to control the inner power from within. This is
whether to do something based on his/her likes, or to do something just because the child has already
understood that he/she has to follow orders from others, because there are common norms that a child
have to obey should he/she want to live with other people collectively. In case a child has not been

President Obama s Child Farm Labor Bill
President Obama wanted to pass a bill that would prevent young farm workers from participating in
farm related activities and chores. Billed as an anti child labor act, the bill was quickly censured. As
Leven puts it, the proposal drew heavy criticism from rural state lawmakers and agricultural leaders,
who cast the rule as government overreach that would erode the traditional American family. The
traditional American family in this case is a rural one, which is an under represented segment of the
population in federal politics. In addition to the way the bill harms traditional rural life, it would also
have significantly harmed the American economy at a time when the economy needs a boost. Farm
families rely on a continuity of labor, so that the young people on the family can learn the trade as
early as possible to support their future careers. Moreover, the bill represents an unnecessary
encroachment of both the government and big labor on farming practices. Part of the bill s provision
was to create a government intervention to oversee occupational safety, when there are already
independent organizations committed to meeting the same objectives. President Obama s proposed
child farm labor bill was untenable because it would damage traditional rural family life; harm a
significant part of the American economy; and enable government and big labor to intrude upon the
lives of Americans. President Obama s child farm labor bill would apply child labor laws to children

The Influence Of The American Soldiers During World War II
Who would have ever thought a small amount of rice with raw fish on top of it would become so
popular across the world? Sushi s fame jumped an ocean across and became popular in the USA.
Many factors contributed to its popularization and has helped make its place in the American cuisine.
As time passed by, the simple creations of sushi evolved to complicated combinations and eye
catching presentations today. This change was welcomed because it gave a new perspective of the
dish, giving it a new face.
One of the factors that made sushi popular was the influence of the American soldiers. After World
War II (WWII), American soldiers who were led by General Douglas MacArthur occupied Japan.
During the war, sushi shops were forced to close due to rationing. There were not enough rice to
reopen the shops after the war. The American forces created a program where people would be the
ones to bring their own rice to the shop if they wanted sushi. The sushi chef would then use the rice
brought by the customers to make sushi for them. This allowed for the shops to reopen and function.
This popularized sushi outside of Tokyo (sushi was mainly sold in the city). One can say, sushi was
saved by the American forces. If the American forces had not stepped in and created the program to
help revive the sushi shops, no doubt would there be sushi shops open today. Sushi would not have
had the chance to spread outside of Tokyo.
Another factor is The Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. This was a

the article and she wants to educate her audience to understand that a word can go from positive to
negative. She also gives audiences a background of her family. She is an African American, who grew
up with a large family in Harlem, New York, and she identifies her family as working class. Naylor s
family works in factories, laundries, and shipyard. Since she lives in a large family, her family refuses
to let the children hear about any topics about sexual misconduct and death, but everything else is fine.
First, she started off with her

Dopamine Hypothesis Of Schizophreni The Psychotic Syndrome
Dopamine hypothesis of schizophrenia The psychotic syndrome at the core of schizophrenia appear to
be invariable across cultures (What is schizophrenia?, 1988). The term schizophrenia refers to schizein
to split and phren mind was introduced by Eugen bleuler in 1857 1939 (Breedlove V. Waston, 2013).
This psychotic syndrome is neurodevelopmental disorder involving the breakdown in the relation
between thought and a major impairment of logical structure of dissociative thinking (Bencherif,
Stachowiak, Kucinski Lippiello, 2012). Consequently, the disorder is characterised by many
behavioural, anatomical and neurochemical abnormalities (Bencherif, Stachowiak, Kucinski Lippiello,

( Häfner An der Heiden,1997). The evidence of dopamine hypothesis of schizophrenia can be
supported by the experiments on the availability of D2 receptors and amphetamine studies.
Furthermore, studies related to antipsychotic drug treatment can demonstrate the improvement of
positive symptoms of schizophrenia. The current essay will support the dopamine hypothesis of
schizophrenia by using empirical research.
The classic dopamine hypothesis state that the excess of dopamine is subcortically related with the
positive symptoms (Abi Dargham, 1999). In an experiment, firstly brain scans were done to achieve
baseline D2 receptor availability (Abi Dargham, 1999). The fluctuations in the synaptic dopamine
levels were measured using in vivo binding techniques, the competition between endogenous levels of
the neurotransmitter and the radiotracer for binding to the D2 dopamine receptors (Abi Dargham,
1999). Injection of amphetamine, cause dopamine to be released into the synapse (Abi Dargham,
1999). Resulting high levels of concentration of the endogenous dopamine in contrast, decreasing the
amount of radiotracer available to bind to the dopamine receptor (Abi Dargham, 1999). The amount of
dopamine released after amphetamine can be observed through the difference between the two brain
scans (Abi Dargham, 1999). As a result transmission of dopamine was increased in schizophrenic

Analysis Of The Last Man By Thomas Campbell Essay
The Encompassing of Solitude and the Manifesting of a Post Apocalyptic Prediction The Earth s
apparent boundary between tangible existence and conceptual objectives consequently ignites
curiosity throughout humanity, while the beckoning of man kind s search for reason throughout the
unexplained components of life, thus, has become inevitable. In contrasting demeanor, some
individual beings have lavished in the comfort that is granted to them through faith and religion. The
repression of one s inquisitive behavior reaps growth in acceptance of trivial mysteries regarding life.
Likely, human reactions to genuine solitude vary and are ultimately subjective in accordance to each
human s differing perception. Debuting during the Revolutionary era in literature, The Last Man by
Thomas Campbell embraced societal speculation, and provided interesting documentation that
regarded the termination of the human race. The narrator of Campbell s poem, who presumably lacks
the mortal conditions of the human species, garners a pessimistic outlook upon the forced separation
between he and all mortal beings. Opposing Campbell s dreary attitudes on the topic, Wordsworth
delivered a speaker within his poem titled I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud who insistently, and gleefully
observed and portrayed nature from an area of chosen detachment. Within these poems, Wordsworth
and Campbell centralized the concept of the complete isolation of man from all but the nature that
surrounds him. In

Modern Day Revelation Research Paper
Revelation is of the basis of our church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Without
revelation, the gospel would have never been restored to this earth. Through revelation,
especially in this modern day, the prophet Joseph Smith was able to restore the fullness of the
gospel. Heavenly Father has made it possible for us all to receive revelation and has given us all
of the tools to do so in these days. Understanding how and why we receive revelation and the
importance of modern day revelation helps us to see how much God truly loves us.
In the Bible Dictionary, revelation is described as being translated from a Greek word
apocalypse, whose meaning is to make known or uncover (p. 716). We, as members of The
Church of Jesus Christ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Holy Ghost is the way in which we can receive revelation; however, personal
revelations may come in several different ways. For example, they may be conveyed in dreams,
visions or inspiration. President Boyd K. Packer stated, Inspiration comes more as a feeling

Reaction on Modern Greek Mythology
Modern Greek mythology is one of the finest arts you can find in the 21st century, it has been the
point where students and scholars study it in order to have a good look at its beauty and popularity.
Greek mythology in the modern times had influenced people so much that it became somewhat of a
lifestyle where people adapt the way the gods and goddesses look and act based on books and stories
from the past. We can tell that people use Greek designs as well on drawing up plans for buildings as
well as interior and exterior design.
Thousands of years have passed since the creation of these stories and up until today, people still
admire its beauty and uniqueness through fashion and design. Also, it peeks our curiosity on how
people back then have created such art that scholars until today still can t find solid proof on how it all

difference between the genders by the results.
Apparatus/Equipment:
A cup of water to get rid of the taste between each testing. Jelly beans to help with the experiment for
taste and smell (supplied by the teacher). A blind fold (optional_ when testing to make sure they do
not know which jelly bean it will be. A five column table to record results. Plastic bag, preferably zip

Chocolate Syrup and Milk
Introduction: We were testing the solubility of the chocolate syrup brands while being stirred in whole
milk. Our purpose is to see which of the major brands of syrup is most soluble and for what reason.
This is important to our daily lives because it makes us aware of what types of materials we are
ingesting and this applies to our experiment by seeing which of the ingredients take longer to dissolve.
Information known is all brands are known to dissolve in milk but they all use different ingredients
and they will cause a difference in the time it takes to dissolve. New information that will be gained
from this experiment is which ingredients inside chocolate syrup will take the longest to dissolve,
from the type of sugars in it to the syrups. We expected the Nesquik to dissolve the fastest because it
did not contain any high fructose corn syrup while the other brand of syrup did. Also we observed
from the syrups that nesquik was very thin, while the others were very thick and slow in behaviour.
Our hypothesis is that the Nesquik will disintegrate the fastest in the milk because it lacks High
Fructose Corn Syrup.

almost everything in its path. It killed 1000 and left 175000 people home less, mentions the junior

Australia s International Obligations Analysis
Australia s international obligations are framed by the United Nations, as this organisation is
paramount to enforcing international law and fundamental human rights. The United Nations (UN)
was founded in 1945, shortly after World War II, by a group of representatives from fifty nations.
Their motive was to establish a stable forum in which international issues could be discussed and
prevent wars between powerful nations. The power and purpose of the UN is bound by its founding
charter, similar to a constitution, containing one hundred and eleven articles which authorize the rights
and obligations of members (United Nations, 2017). All states are of equal sovereignty and each state
in the General Assembly is entitled to one vote regardless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Australia s international obligations extend extra territorially according to these agreements and
Australia is legally responsible for any contravention of obligations, regardless of whether or not an
Australian official was liable. However, the international obligations vary significantly between
Australia, PNG and Nauru, creating much difficulty in terms of effectively implementing these
obligations. For instance, Nauru is not a signatory to the Refugee Convention, nor do they have the
domestic legal structure to implement such obligations, due to the impoverished state of the country
(Dr Hathaway, 2016). PNG faces similar challenges in regards to the socio economic state of the
country and struggles to implement such obligations, despite being a signatory to the Refugee
Convention. Neither of these designated offshore processing states have the legal capacity to uphold
international obligations, thus creating great potential for violations of these obligations (Archbold,
2015). This impacts the Australian government as it is difficult to regulate activity in the regional
processing centres and if obligations were to be breached, the government would be responsible
regardless of who contravened. The Hon Chris Bowen MP commented on this issue, claiming that

Controlling Images of Black Womanhood
In Patricia Hill Collins Mammies, Matriarchs, and Other Controlling Images, she illustrates four main
stereotypes that Black women face. The first controlling image applied to African American women is
The Mammy. The mammy is the faithful, obedient servant to the white family and the stereotype
attempts to hide the fact that black women who work for white families are being exploited. By loving
and caring for her white children more than her own, the mammy symbolizes the dominant group s
perceptions of the ideal black female relationship to elite white male power. The smiling mammy
signals her agreement with the situation, seemingly accepting her subordination (Collins, 71). Next is
the image of the Black matriarch (Collins, 73). According to the stereotype, they spend too much time
away from home, are overly aggressive and unfeminine, and allegedly emasculate their lovers and
husbands. This stereotype attempts to control conduct by punishing black women for assertiveness
and hides the oppression by making it seem that black women are naturally this way (Collins, 74 75).
The third controlling image of Black womanhood is that of the welfare mother, which is linked to
Black women s increasing dependence on the welfare state (Collins, 76). This time, the punishment is
for failing to work. Rather than being a bad mother for deserting the children, now the concern is
being with the children too much and not working. Again, by pinpointing the Welfare Mother as the
cause,

Salva was a Sudanese refugee who walked thousands of miles to reach safety from the civil war in

Market-Oriented Approaches to Firms
Market Oriented Approaches to Firms
As world markets become globalized, heightened competition and uncertain economic and social
environments pose significant new challenges for firms. It is important for firms to develop
management systems that have the capability to react quickly to change and that promote innovation.
Competitive advantage lies with those firms that have adapted to become learning organizations with
the capacity to constantly monitor external environments to swiftly respond to change (Kauppila et.al,
2011). Today s most successful firms favor information and knowledge, function under less hierarchy
and value team production over the management systems of the past era of mass production (Calerio,
2008). Those systems relied on top down direction, which greatly limited agility in decision making.
Today, global markets demand greater flexibility and on the spot decision making. The answer then
becomes access to relevant information the more knowledge the firm has, the more capable it becomes
in regards to outpacing competitors.
Firms today can benefit greatly from market orientations. This allows for greater flexibility in
generating and integrating crucial information into the business. Internal structures and systems that
have the ability to process knowledge from external boundaries can positively influence internal
responses to marketplace changes and requirements, dramatically improving the ability of the
organization to learn and adapt (Malmgren,

Gomco clamp was observed to be associated with a significant increase in post operative heart rate
and mean arterial blood pressure. Table 4 summarizes the CRIES score associated with and duration
of each circumcision technique. Both groups were observed to have the same CRIES score. However,
Mogen clamp was found to be significantly faster than Gomco. Comments: There are several strengths
to this study. This is the largest randomized, controlled, clinical trial comparing neonatal pain between
Gomco and Mogen clamps. Furthermore, by having all the circumcisions be performed by a single
provider group, the authors were able to control for provider confounders. Both procedure protocols
were solely based on the most recent recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
However, as the study was exclusive to healthy and term infants, the results can only be generalized to
this population, not to premature infants or older males. Another limitation is that these observations
are regarding short term outcomes of the procedures, not long term outcomes of Gomco and Mogen
clamp circumcisions. Furthermore, the research nurses who scored the pain were not blinded to the

Heterosexual marriage has also been known as the best environment for the upbringing of children.
Studies show that most children who are brought up in a household with a mother and a father are
more productive in school and their social life. The environment which offers children the best
opportunity to achieve optimal development is one comprised of their biological mother and father or
a married male and female. It is in the child s best interest that this environment be fostered and
protected. Children do best when they have the personal involvement and material support of a father
and a mother and when both parents fulfill their responsibility to be loving providers. Studies also

Transportation And Warehouse Management Essay
Transportation and Warehouse Management
SUMMARY
The report is on how transportation and warehouse management plays a vital role in the supply chain,
different modes of transports that involve in the freight movement from one location to another. The
amount of time to deliver a product to customers will show the effect on company s future, so the
company has to follow some steps to have a better mode of transportation for less cost and delivery
time. The primary objective of this project is to show how the transportation and warehouse
management systems are used to overcome the problems that are faced in transportation and storage
quickly and some of the key elements in WMS and TMS.
Transportation management:
Globalization has increased the importance and role of transportation in supply chain management.
Transportation plays a vital role in increasing the Gross Domestic product. It involves the movement
of the manufactured product from one location to the another location or the customer safely.
Transportation plays a vital role in the supply chain because the probability of using the produced
product on the same site is almost negligible. Now, transportation is one of the primary factors which
can affect the economy of the company when it is not efficient, safe and reliable. Delivering the
products on time directly to the customers has been increasing significantly in these recent years
which can be accomplished only with transportation management, resulting

familiar with the idea of fallen women . Offred is in her room and filled with nostalgia for the

from the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden is very prominent. We are forced to consider the
idea of the fall from innocence, which is presented as a paradox in this dystopian world as the women

Causes Of The American Revolution The Antagonizing British
American Revolution: The Antagonizing British The American Revolution had initiated due to chain

limiting colonist s expansion, violating their rights, invading U.S. soil. All three of these events
against the colonists came together like a puzzle to start the American Revolution War. The French

the Indians with Britain s help. The war was fought in North America, eventually the British won the

been enormously expensive, and the British government s attempts to impose taxes on colonists to

Jonathan Stratton English 123 B 12/7/2015 California Baptist University Abstract: With the advent of modern technology, the way our culture consumes music has changes dramatically in the last ten years. With technology developing as rapidly as it is; music piracy has been prosperous while traditional music sales have declined. Over the past decade, cloud streaming has made its way into consumer s lives. These cloud services allow users to access music from a central database via a website. Users can access this music for free. But only as long as they are connected to the internet. Consumers may also choose to purchase a subscription to these sites which eliminates advertisements and allows unlimited listening online or off. Cloud streaming services have made a large impact on the music industry. It has made such a sizeable impact that Billboard has created a chart for streamed music. Cloud streaming services provide access through subscriptions which are often paid. Meanwhile piracy offers users free and unlimited access to all music without any limitations. Almost all consumers of pirated music claim that the practice of piracy does not hurt the music industry at all. The book Moser on Music Copyright (2006) argues that piracy does in fact hurt the music industry by examining a study produces by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The RIAA estimates that piracy costs the music industry $300,000,000 in the United States alone. While the United States loss may seem large, the Global loss amounts to roughly $5,000,000,000. In 2004 alone, roughly 34%, of all CD sales, were pirated copies (p. 83). Consumers feel okay with justifying piracy because of the way the music industry appears to be thriving. • 3. Cognitive Dissonance In Friends Cognitive dissonance means feeling tension when our thoughts and beliefs are inconsistent. An example of this is when people smoke even though they are aware of the consequences that can occur such as cancer which leads to cognitive dissonance. This occurs almost everyday in our lives, whether we are aware of it or not. An one example that was shown on one of the episodes of Friends made us aware of this happening. Friends is a sitcom which aired on television in 1994 and ended in 2004. It is about six best friends, Chandler, Joey, and Ross, Monica, who is Ross s brother, Phoebe and Rachel who are living in New York City. Though out the show we see that Monica falls in love with Chandler, and Rachel falls in love with Ross. Today s China is both a status quo power and a revisionist power The People s Republic of China (PRC) has become more integrated and willing to cooperate within the global political and economic systems than ever in its history. However, there is growing apprehension in the Asia Pacific region and the U.S. in regards to the consequences of rising in economic and military power in China. Descriptions about Chinese diplomacy in the policy and scholarly are less positive lately concerning China s obedience to regional and international rules. There was little debate in the U.S. and elsewhere in regards to whether China was or was not part the international community. Scholars and experts in the early 1990s have contended ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Revisionist states are seen as challengers who wants a new place or share for themselves in global society proportionate with their power. Revisionist states are generally unsatisfied with their position in the international society. They have a wish to modify the rules by which affairs among countries work. Robert Gilpin who is amid pragmatist scholars, offers possibly the most precise discussion of revisionist and status quo positioning. He simplifies by breaking down the rules of the game into rather more operationalizable components: the distribution of power, the chain of command of status, rights and norms that oversee relations among states. Firstly, how do nation leaders say and act with respect to the exact norms. For example, of regional diplomacy, of security institutes and of global commercial institutes? Secondly, how do state leaders express and act in regards to the sharing of power internationally or regionally? Thirdly, how do they say and act concerning the hierarchy of prestige. For Gilpin revisionist states attempt to basically modify these three components. Anything less and it becomes challenging to call the state either revisionist or non status quo. Increased contribution in global institutes may not essentially be a robust indicator of status quo behaviour. Some might ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The term was originally coined by the German military officer Erich Ludendorff in his book The Total War . Previous to this the renowned military theorists Carl von Clausewitz and Antoine Henri Jomini both touched on the raw principles of total war , but failing to ever recognise the term Ludendorff went on to fashion. This was uncommon in democracies, for example the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill did not have his own personal guard, answerable only to himself; it was Churchill who was scrutinized by the people, the reverse of the situation pertaining in both Germany and the Soviet Union. Totalitarianism endangers the stability of a nation as there will be growing internal unrest due to the excesses of terrorism, the denial of rights and the inability of large segments of the population to participate in public affairs . It was these basic democratic principles which were absent throughout the totalitarian regimes of the 20th Century; as a single man s ideology was allowed to develop unrestricted, with little input from either a strong government or the general public. In the autocratic governments of wartime Europe the chain of command was rigidly maintained from the top down, unlike democracies where the chain was more susceptible to variation. The effects of the totalitarian administrative structure manifest themselves in subordinates inability to question orders and policies which leads to further disregard for the negative consequences of such commands. There are different views of this relationship or marriage in these two tales: either the woman has the power in the marriage granted from her husband, or the husband and wife grant each other power in the marriage so neither dominates. The Wife of Bath begins her prologue by explaining that she considers herself an authority of marriage due to her experience ; the Wife of Bath says, Experience, though no authority/Were in this world, would be enough for me/To speak of woe that married life affords;/For since I was twelve years of age, my lords,/Thanks be to God eternally alive,/Of husbands at the church door I ve had five (Lines 1 6). • 7. China s Politics And Economy In addition, China s politics and economy have great differences with western countries because of the special national conditions, that the political power (or government) may have a prominent or even overwhelming strength relative to the economy (or business), which may have a decisive influence on economic development. First, the government lead economy has caused excessive pursuit of economic development but neglect the quality of development (Zhou, Zhang Shen, 2015). Second is the government s control and allocation of resources and the dominant mode of development of the state owned economy have caused a series of problems like the loss of economic benefits to a certain extent (Dollar, 1990). So the excessive concentration of political and administrative power caused by the low degree legalization and democratization in Chinese economy may have resulted in some obstacles in the economic development to enterprises, and this kind of rent seeking which has political power to control economic resources and the right of examination and approval maybe one of the reasons caused China s corruption and damaged the normal order of the market economy. In western countries, companies could hire a lobby group to lobby government in order to gain some benefits and a lot of countries such as the United States have the Federal Regulation of lobbying act that make constraint on lobbying (Hansen Mitchell, 2000). This haunting quote comes from the mouth of one of the most grotesque and brutal serial killers to ever live, Edward Gein. Edward was born on August 27th 1906 to an abusive alcoholic father, George Gein and an overly religious mother, Augusta Carter. Along with Edward, George and Augusta gave birth to Edwards older brother Henry in 1902. The family settled down in the little town of Lacrosse, Wisconsin where Augusta raised the young boys. For the most part, her husband George was left out of the picture mainly because Augusta believed he was a worthless alcoholic. This paper will discuss the connection between Edward s crimes and social control theory in order to arrive at a conclusion as to why Gein committed the brutal murders he did. Before we dive into Gein s criminal history and early life we need to understand why social control theories differ from most other criminological theories. Social control theories tend to dive deeper into the realm of Why didn t someone offend opposed to why did someone offend. From the end of the nineteenth century until the attainment of independence in the early 1960s, the countries of East Africa were under the colonial administration of European empires. After decades of foreign rule which saw unparalleled transformations within society, the post colonial states that emerged have been blighted by ethnic conflict. It has been argued that the beliefs of British, Belgian and German administrators led them to completely reorganise the societies they governed based on a fictitious tribal model, and in the process they invented ethnicity. There is a great deal of debate on this matter, though, and its continued relevance to contemporary politics only makes it more vigorous. Before we go on to analyse to what ... Carola Lentz may well have described ethnicity as the joker card , a word that can be introduced at any stage in the game, replacing potentially more problematic phrases and assuming the characteristics we require of it, but its introduction is made with the best intentions; in order that we may see ethnicity as a broad and evolving concept that can indeed mean many things simultaneously. From the roaring twenties, to the prohibition, drugs have always been fought (Bailey). Most times, the drugs start off as medicines and end up being harmful (Morris). Perhaps, the most prominent and influential eras of drug use in America are the two decades of the 60 s and twenty years later, the 80 s. It means discipline must be stimulated, observed and let it grow by itself. How to start stimulating or awakening discipline inside a child? Montessori says, an individual is disciplined when he is the master of himself and when he can, as a consequence, control himself when he must follow a rule of life (Montessori, 1997, p. 51). • 18. President Obama s Child Farm Labor Bill President Obama wanted to pass a bill that would prevent young farm workers from participating in farm related activities and chores. Billed as an anti child labor act, the bill was quickly censured. As Leven puts it, the proposal drew heavy criticism from rural state lawmakers and agricultural leaders, who cast the rule as government overreach that would erode the traditional American family. The traditional American family in this case is a rural one, which is an under represented segment of the population in federal politics. In addition to the way the bill harms traditional rural life, it would also have significantly harmed the American economy at a time when the economy needs a boost. Farm families rely on a continuity of labor, so that the young people on the family can learn the trade as early as possible to support their future careers. Moreover, the bill represents an unnecessary encroachment of both the government and big labor on farming practices. Part of the bill s provision was to create a government intervention to oversee occupational safety, when there are already independent organizations committed to meeting the same objectives. President Obama s proposed child farm labor bill was untenable because it would damage traditional rural family life; harm a significant part of the American economy; and enable government and big labor to intrude upon the lives of Americans. • 19. The Influence Of The American Soldiers During World War II Who would have ever thought a small amount of rice with raw fish on top of it would become so popular across the world? Sushi s fame jumped an ocean across and became popular in the USA. Many factors contributed to its popularization and has helped make its place in the American cuisine. As time passed by, the simple creations of sushi evolved to complicated combinations and eye catching presentations today. This change was welcomed because it gave a new perspective of the dish, giving it a new face. One of the factors that made sushi popular was the influence of the American soldiers. After World War II (WWII), American soldiers who were led by General Douglas MacArthur occupied Japan. During the war, sushi shops were forced to close due to rationing. There were not enough rice to reopen the shops after the war. The American forces created a program where people would be the ones to bring their own rice to the shop if they wanted sushi. The sushi chef would then use the rice brought by the customers to make sushi for them. This allowed for the shops to reopen and function. This popularized sushi outside of Tokyo (sushi was mainly sold in the city). One can say, sushi was saved by the American forces. If the American forces had not stepped in and created the program to help revive the sushi shops, no doubt would there be sushi shops open today. The narrator of Campbell s poem, who presumably lacks the mortal conditions of the human species, garners a pessimistic outlook upon the forced separation between he and all mortal beings. Opposing Campbell s dreary attitudes on the topic, Wordsworth delivered a speaker within his poem titled I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud who insistently, and gleefully observed and portrayed nature from an area of chosen detachment. • 29. Chocolate Syrup and Milk Introduction: We were testing the solubility of the chocolate syrup brands while being stirred in whole milk. Our purpose is to see which of the major brands of syrup is most soluble and for what reason. This is important to our daily lives because it makes us aware of what types of materials we are ingesting and this applies to our experiment by seeing which of the ingredients take longer to dissolve. Information known is all brands are known to dissolve in milk but they all use different ingredients and they will cause a difference in the time it takes to dissolve. New information that will be gained from this experiment is which ingredients inside chocolate syrup will take the longest to dissolve, from the type of sugars in it to the syrups. We expected the Nesquik to dissolve the fastest because it did not contain any high fructose corn syrup while the other brand of syrup did. Also we observed from the syrups that nesquik was very thin, while the others were very thick and slow in behaviour. Our hypothesis is that the Nesquik will disintegrate the fastest in the milk because it lacks High Fructose Corn Syrup. Materials Procedures: Materials: 1. Hershey s Chocolate Syrup 2. Nesquik Chocolate Syrup 3. Great Value Chocolate Syrup 4. Any ONE of brand whole milk 5. Little Measuring cup 6. 3 cups 7. strainer 8. spoon 9. Large bowl 10. Teaspoon measurer Procedures: 1. • 31. Australia s International Obligations Analysis Australia s international obligations are framed by the United Nations, as this organisation is paramount to enforcing international law and fundamental human rights. The United Nations (UN) was founded in 1945, shortly after World War II, by a group of representatives from fifty nations. Their motive was to establish a stable forum in which international issues could be discussed and prevent wars between powerful nations. The power and purpose of the UN is bound by its founding charter, similar to a constitution, containing one hundred and eleven articles which authorize the rights and obligations of members (United Nations, 2017). Australia s international obligations extend extra territorially according to these agreements and Australia is legally responsible for any contravention of obligations, regardless of whether or not an Australian official was liable. However, the international obligations vary significantly between Australia, PNG and Nauru, creating much difficulty in terms of effectively implementing these obligations. For instance, Nauru is not a signatory to the Refugee Convention, nor do they have the domestic legal structure to implement such obligations, due to the impoverished state of the country (Dr Hathaway, 2016). PNG faces similar challenges in regards to the socio economic state of the country and struggles to implement such obligations, despite being a signatory to the Refugee Convention. Neither of these designated offshore processing states have the legal capacity to uphold international obligations, thus creating great potential for violations of these obligations (Archbold, 2015). • 32. Controlling Images of Black Womanhood In Patricia Hill Collins Mammies, Matriarchs, and Other Controlling Images, she illustrates four main stereotypes that Black women face. The first controlling image applied to African American women is The Mammy. The mammy is the faithful, obedient servant to the white family and the stereotype attempts to hide the fact that black women who work for white families are being exploited. By loving and caring for her white children more than her own, the mammy symbolizes the dominant group s perceptions of the ideal black female relationship to elite white male power. The smiling mammy signals her agreement with the situation, seemingly accepting her subordination (Collins, 71). Next is the image of the Black matriarch (Collins, 73). According to the stereotype, they spend too much time away from home, are overly aggressive and unfeminine, and allegedly emasculate their lovers and husbands. This stereotype attempts to control conduct by punishing black women for assertiveness and hides the oppression by making it seem that black women are naturally this way (Collins, 74 75). The third controlling image of Black womanhood is that of the welfare mother, which is linked to Black women s increasing dependence on the welfare state (Collins, 76). This time, the punishment is for failing to work. Rather than being a bad mother for deserting the children, now the concern is being with the children too much and not working. Again, by pinpointing the Welfare Mother as the cause, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Market-Oriented Approaches to Firms Market Oriented Approaches to Firms As world markets become globalized, heightened competition and uncertain economic and social environments pose significant new challenges for firms. It is important for firms to develop management systems that have the capability to react quickly to change and that promote innovation. Competitive advantage lies with those firms that have adapted to become learning organizations with the capacity to constantly monitor external environments to swiftly respond to change (Kauppila et.al, 2011). This is the largest randomized, controlled, clinical trial comparing neonatal pain between Gomco and Mogen clamps. Furthermore, by having all the circumcisions be performed by a single provider group, the authors were able to control for provider confounders. Both procedure protocols were solely based on the most recent recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
