Marketing Plan for Mountain Equipment
Marketing Paper The author of this assignment is asked to provide four major components. The first is
to come up with a new product line that is not already in the Mountain Equipment product array. The
second is to describe the target market for this new product line. The third is to identify two
competitors for the new products and to flesh out how MEC will provide a better option than those
other competitors and the last one will be a brief marketing plan for how MEC might launch the new
product line. Product Marketing Plan Details In looking at the MEC website, there is a clear section
for smartphone compatible devices but the same is not true for tablet devices and that is an obviously
missing link. There are some tablet compatible devices in the smartphone section, but there needs to
be a tablet specific section because tablets are soaring in use and popularity and MEC needs to latch
onto the people that use the Samsung and Apple tablet computers, among other brands like Dell,
Toshiba, Amazon and others. The new product line being suggested here is for MEC to launch a
specific section that sells products specifically designed for or more easy to use and function with on
tablets. Indeed, MEC does not seem to make its own goods. Rather, they market products from
vendors like Garmin and such when it comes to consumer electronics. No need to reinvent the wheel
on that, but there needs to be a clear section for tablet computers and the smartphone specific goods

State Mass Killings in Indonesia 1965 to 1966 Essay
State Mass Killings in Indonesia 1965 to 1966 In order to develop a general framework with which to
understand collective political violence, I examine state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. While
acknowledging the importance of historical/cultural factors, I identify elements within the
sociopolitical sphere that influence actors of collective political violence at national, local, and event
specific levels. Elements discussed are elite interests, justification for violence, formal organizations,
and mobilization factors. Finally, I suggest future preventative policy measures. Introduction Violence
marks much of human history. Within the sociopolitical sphere, violence has continually served as a
tool used by various actors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within this framework, I determine the relative importance of historical/cultural factors, elite interests,
justifications for violence, organization and individual perceptions. Finally, I present questions for
future research and preventative policy options. Common explanations of political violence in
Indonesia focus on local culture, the legacies of colonialism, and the social conflicts through which
violence manifests. Often, observers describe such events as spontaneous and uncontrollable. One
obtains the impression that riots are explosions of latent tensions and mass killings, unstoppable
runaway trains. However such explanations are at best incomplete and significantly obscure important
variables. Mass collective violence is rarely spontaneous. Elite interests, formal organizations and
actors at various levels interact to create violent 1 outcomes. I consider such interactions surrounding
the state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. The Frames of Violent Forms Defined generally as the
use of physical force or coercion, used with the intention of bringing harm to others (and their material
goods), which is linked to a struggle for power , political violence make take on numerous forms.
Such forms are characterized by varying elements of intensity, destructiveness, and duration. It is not
my intention to provide a general descriptive theory of political violence. Given the varied nature of

Erich Fromm
Erich Fromm in his novel To Have Or To Be argues that there are two forms of existence: having and
becoming. He believes that modern society is dominated by the to have mode, which is as a soul less
and selfish pursuit of material possessions. He also argues that neither capitalism nor communism
offer a way out of society s obsession with having because both economic systems have a materialistic
foundation. Therefore, Fromm attempted to synthesize capitalism and Marxist humanism to form a
society based on becoming. Fromm defined becoming as the mode of existence in which one neither
has anything nor craves to have something, but is joyous, employs one s faculties productively, is oned
to the world (16). The main difference between being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the poem Tennyson describes the reaction he had toward a flower he saw while taking a walk.
Instead of merely enjoying its beauty he wanted to have the flower and thus he plucked it. Tennyson,
even though he gained spiritual insight, ultimately killed the flower because of his interest in it.
Fromm s thesis is that society in its having mode of existence destroys the natural world in its pursuit
for knowledge and truth (plucking the flower). For example, scientists dismember natural systems to
understand their function and origin. Scientists may gain knowledge, but at the price of killing or
damaging the system they were observing. Overconsumption and pollution will always be a problem
for as long as mankind view the natural world as something to have or to own. An antithesis to Fromm
s assertion is that interfering with the natural world does not harm it (or plucking the flower will not
kill it). God created the world for mankind thus mankind can do with it as they please. I offer a
synthesis of both philosophies by suggesting that a passive appreciation of nature is good and is
needed, but manipulating nature is also needed for scientific advancement. However, science must not
be in the having mode, but rather it must be humble to avoid overconsumption and eventual
catastrophe. The purpose of science is to learn and to become better citizens of the world (or to
become one with the world). However,

Analysis Of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince
Matt Hodel
Dante
Ms. Harlow
7 May 2012
Perversions of Hell in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince J. K. Rowling, along with many other
modern fantasy authors, owes a great deal to Dante in the formulation of her best selling series.
Though the subject matter she undertakes a magical world of witchcraft and wizardry would have, in
Dante s eyes, landed her in the eighth circle of the Inferno, fourth pouch, Rowling would arguably
have been unable to create the magical universe of Harry Potter without immense inspiration from The
Divine Comedy. In an overly simplistic picture, Voldemort might be thought of as a representation of
Satan, arrogantly believing that he has the power to conquer the whole wizarding community, let alone
the entire world, with his magical faculties. Indeed, similar to Satan, Voldemort exemplifies the
damning qualities of greed, wrath, violence, deceit, and betrayal every step of the way on his path to
power.
Nevertheless, Rowling s most visible debts to Dante appear in the aura given off by the darker scenes
of her novels. Such chapters evoke a feeling unquestionably reminiscent of The Inferno to anyone
familiar with Dante s work. Specifically, near the end of the sixth installment of the series is a chapter
in which Dumbledore, a Virgil figure, takes Harry, the Dante to Dumbledore s Virgil, on an attempt to
destroy the first of seven horcruxes. The chapter alludes to Canto III of The Inferno through a series of
direct contrasts with

at portable space heaters. Each pollution prevention audit should be conducted in accordance with a

The National Environmental Policy Act Essay
The National Environmental Policy Act
Our Congress created the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in 1969 in order to establish an
environmental foundation for mankind. This policy endorses harmony between humans and the vast
ecosystems surrounding them. To obtain this goal and provide our future with resources as well, NEPA
is separated into two titles. The first title declares the policy in detail while the second title focuses on
the Council on Environmental Quality. The CEQ oversees the effectiveness of current methods, the
reactions of the environment to those methods, and implements revisions as necessary. In Title I of
NEPA, our government recognizes the immutable link between mankind s dealings and the impacts on

A proposal to alter the current environmental status must state the anticipated impact of the change,
any possible negative effects and proposed alternatives, short and long term uses of the change and
any irrevocable use of resources. Additionally, there must be consultations with any Federal agency
that has jurisdictional law or special expertise with that particular environmental issue. The President,
the CEQ, and the general public subsequently review the proposal. If a proposal has unresolved
conflicts in any area it is not simply dismissed. Further study and research is done to try to rectify
those areas. Further, Title I looks to assist in worldwide endeavors to addressing environmental issues
and concerns that are within the boundaries of US foreign policy. It also makes it possible for advice
and information on the maintenance, enhancement, and restoration of the environment to be available
to States, counties, municipalities, institutions, and individuals. Lastly, this first section of NEPA
insists on reviewing statutory limitations, administrative regulations, and current methods to
continually conform to the goals of environmental well being. It stands as a frequent supplement to
existing environmental laws. Title II of NEPA focuses on the Council on Environmental Quality. Their
objective is to make sure that agencies dealing with the environment are compliant to NEPA and to
keep the President aware of

Essay about Cocoanut Grove Fire
From the Ashes Fire protection engineering, or the application of science and engineering to protect
people and their environment from fire, has been around for centuries. The problem with
advancements in this field is that they are preventative and, if ahead of their time, often seen as
unnecessary. As a result, they are usually not considered or implemented until after severe tragedy has
struck. A prime example of this is also the first recorded use of fire protection engineering. In AD 64,
Emperor Nero had regulations drawn up that required fireproof materials used in the external walls to
the city. This, of course, happened only after an estimated seventy percent of Rome was lost to fire.
More noticeable regulations happened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not many got through before the pushing lodged the door shut. Others in the main club moved toward
the hinged door that opened out to Shawmut Street, and many did escape out this way.
The patrons inside the Broadway Lounge, being the farthest away from the lobby, were only alerted to
the fire when guests from the main club area ran in looking for an exit. The fire, having started
approximately five minutes ago, was now in full force. The smoke, flames, and heat quickly caused all
in the lounge to panic and the only available exit, an inward opening door that led to Broadway Street,
was blocked shut within moments. (Thomas)
Firefighters were on the scene seconds after the blaze started. The department already had several
units on the block for an automobile fire and immediately went to work rescuing people near the
entrances. Once they realized how dire the situation was, they called for more and more help.
Firefighters and citizens broke the windows on the Shawmut Street side of the building in an attempt
to pull as many people out as possible. The victims, suffering from smoke inhalation and burns, were
transported as quickly as possible to area hospitals. When they ran out of ambulances and emergency
vehicles, newspaper trucks were used. (Thomas) For over an hour, Boston City Hospital averaged a

Messing With The Forces Of Order In Macbeth Essay
In the classic play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, the once honorable soldier Macbeth, becomes
corrupt as he murders the King of Scotland to take the throne. This newfound evilness causes him to
mess with fate and is eventually killed by Macduff. The play Macbeth shows how messing with the
forces of order will lead to your demise.
In Macbeth, Shakespeare shows that messing with the forces of order will lead to your demise through
Macbeth. Macbeth loses the trust of the people who were once loyal to him, after he killed Duncan.
He murders Duncan so that he could be king; he messed with the natural order so he can be king
which causes him to lose people s trust, such as Macduff. This is the start of his demise. In Act 3

A Large Scale Version Of A Small Zip Lock Bag
A microcosm is basically a smaller scale version of a greater population, or a miniature. At the
beginning of this semester, we began the construction of our own miniature worlds within the
confinements of a small zip lock bag. We observed the changes and growth of life inside these bags
over the span of a few weeks. The reason for setting up these projects for weeks at a time, was to get a
better range of how things change and grow over time, sort of like a smaller scale of how it would
really be if grown outside the bag.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The materials that were used in this microcosm project consisted of

worms, H2O and CO2. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leather was added in order to begin the growth of moss in our microcosm. Once all of this was set
up, we needed to add the living organisms, the worms. Being the first day, we only added 2 worms,
one earthworm and 1 red worm. As soon as the set up was finished, we moved our microcosms to the
back, to which they were kept at a standard temperature of 70.5°F, and at a humidity of 53%. It
received natural lighting as well as light from 25watt incandescent light bulbs.
Week 1: By the second week, there wasn t much preparation left, simply added 2 more worms, and
added a bit more water.
Week 2: This was the last time more worms were added to the experiment, totaling a good 6 worms, 3
of each red worm, and 3 earthworms. Added H2O.
Week 3: No new forms of life were added, but the abiotic factors did end up changing, which would
result in the microcosm changes being a bit different. The temperature was now changed to about 69 °
F, and the humidity went from 53% to 54.5%. The other factors such as light, remained constant.
Added a bit of H2O in order to keep the microcosm moist for the worms to thrive and plants to grow.
RESULTS:
Week 1: After simply one week, there was tremendous amount of growth in the microcosm. It was
already full of small plant life. There were plenty of small sprouts from all the big seeds and small
seedlings. For the garden bean, it grew to become approximately 150mm tall. The little peas

Summary Of Lost In Translation By Lera Boroditsky
Lost in Translation In Lost in Translation, Lera Boroditsky writes to people within businesses or
people who are wanting to invest in companies that work with other countries. She writes to inform
and tell the reader that if getting involved with other countries you need to know what to expect. The
examples she provides in her article show that language in some countries does differ from others, but
it isn t like that in every country. She writes to inform business people what they need to know before
they get involved with other countries. This is why this article is published in the Wall Street Journal,
Boroditsky wants all business companies to know what to expect before they get involved.
Throughout the article I pulled out rhetorical choices that make the article what it is. Lera Boroditsky
credibility shows through past references, significance to audience, statistical jargon through logos,
and personal anecdotes.
In the beginning paragraphs, the article begins with a past reference and the example is based off of a
saying that everyone knows. It goes with this article perfect because it is a universal quote and the
article is always discussing how language is universal. Humpty Dumpty sat on a ... Even this snippet
of a nursery rhyme reveals how much languages can differ from one another... In English, we have to

we say. It is important that the audience knows this because it makes an impact on how things may be
presented in another country. Having this past reference, it gives the reader the inside on what the
author is explaining. When the verb tense is affected it changes the outcome of the situation that is

rhetorical choice is a form of statistical jargon that is using logos. Through this quote we get to
understand the facts and what is being presented. There is universal grammar for all human

Philip K. Dick s Influence On His Writings
Philip K. Dick an American author, most renowned for his works in science fiction, played a crucial
role in the development of the science fiction media industry today. His inspiration while writing
novels was unconventional, and ranged from visitations of a pink beam named 2 3 74, to a special
insight of a force outside of our universe which he referred to as Zebra. Philip K. Dick had many
influences on his writings such as drug use, Paranoid Personality Disorder, and Schizophrenia. Dick s
life left a massive impact on his writings and, throughout his novels, readers are able to observe
recurring apocalyptic like settings and the common theme of a totalitarian government, which,
together, create insightful social commentaries.
Philip K. Dick had several mental illnesses which had heavily influenced his writing. He often
reported recurring hallucinations of a pink beam along with other shapes and geometric patterns, as
well as claiming that he was living as a persecuted Christian in Rome named Thomas during the first
century AD (Aaronson). In addition to his mental illnesses, he had a history of drug use as well as a

It wasn t until around the 1950s to 60s where he went through a really significant creative period

human experience. Dick s claim of having contact with an outside force was likely due to one of his

Under Contract Law Case Study
The best model of jurisprudence describing a court s review of local zoning ordinances termed as the
planning law suggests that some form of plan is necessary. The model draws heavily on administrative
law doctrines to state that all gradual changes must conform to standards set out in the previous
scheme. In this context, it means that the rezoning of residential land to commercial was contrary to
the previous plan in the zoning ordinance. Moreover, courts apply the case of Fasano v. Board of
County Commissioner that sets a precedent on the need to enforce conformity to a plan.
Under contract law, courts take relevance in the express terms of an agreement and any applicable
course of past course of dealing, usage of trade and industry between parties by construing contract
terms whenever reasonable as consistent with each other to ascertain the meaning of the parties
agreement. An example is where one party to the contract offers evidence of a relevant usage of, the
same is not admissible in court unless notice was given to the other party and courts find it sufficient
as not to surprise the other party. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Research Paper On Alfred Binet
Alfred Binet was the only child of Moina Allard and Edouard Binet. Binet was born in Nice, France
on July 8, 1857. His father was a physician and mother was an artist. His parents got divorced when
he was a young child. Binet attended a school in Nice until the age of 15. He spent the majority of his
summers going to a boardinghouse in England where he learned to master his fluency in English.
Attending the boardinghouse paid off in the near future because he was able to read the English and
American psychological literature. At the age of fifteen Binet moved with his mother to Paris, France.
His mother took him to Paris, France so that way he could go to a prestigious school Louis le Grand

Lewis M. Terman, a psychologist at Stanford University, revised it. The fifth edition was released in
2003. The cognitive ability and intelligence test was used to determine whether a child had
developmental or intellectual deficiencies in young children. The test consists of five weighted factors
and both verbal and nonverbal subtests. The factors that were tested were for knowledge, quantitative
reasoning, visual spatial processing, working memory, and fluid reasoning. The score scale has a total
of nine classifications that are used. The test now ranges from moderately impaired or delayed (being
the lowest score) to very gifted or highly advanced (being the highest score). The test now allows
higher age groups to be apart of the test and before it was only used for a specific age group. The test
determines the intellectual capabilities of young children all the way to young adults. The revised test
has different limitations also because it is criticized that they are unable to compare the tests since they
administer a different set of tests to individuals depending on the age of the participant. Also, it is
known that young children usually do not do well on tests because they lack the concentration to
finish this test. The test is available for you to take online on

This Game We Call Life
This Game We Call Life
Every morning brings us a new day, a new light , a new aim to achieve. Our journey as a human being
is to not follow the pre ordinate path, but rather create that path. Along that path, we are forced to deal
with hardships, and struggles that happen every minute of every day. We devote every single day in
finding this path, finding our life, without really knowing or understanding the meaning of life. Life is
beautiful. However, life has problems too, and the challenge lies in facing them with courage. Life is
full of moments of joy, pleasure, success and comfort punctuated by misery, defeat, failures and
problems. There is no human being on Earth, strong, powerful, wise or rich, who has not experienced,
struggle, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clique you re in determines who you associate with, what activities you re involved in, and
whether or not your high school experience is a happy one. What if you belong to no clique? Then
what are you? Or rather who are you? High school is very similar to the setting of the Outsiders. The
book takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The city is split into two zones, the East Side, and the West
Side. Teens that live in the East Side of town are known as the greasers, the poor kids. The pride
themselves in their long greasy hair. Socs are the West Side rich kids . The difference between Socs
and greasers is not exactly money, but rather the way they feel and live. Greasers feel a lot: when they
love, they love. When they hate, they hate. They are true to their feelings and act before thinking. Socs
don t feel, they live under a cool façade. At the beginning of The Outsiders, Ponyboy feels isolated
from the members of his gang, his brothers, and society at large. His intelligence and love of movies,
books, and nature aren t really appreciated by the gang, or so he thinks. Ponyboy s status as a greaser
also makes him feel like a loser , locked out of opportunities that the wealthier kids acquire. As you
can see, Ponyboy is different. He may think that different is bad...but it s not. Being unique is better
than being normal, or being what you re supposed to be.

How Did The Chinese Alchemists Use Gunpowder
During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the Chinese developed gunpowder, which made weapons
possible. The creators of this powerful substance were alchemists, who practiced alchemy. Chinese
alchemists had been experimenting with saltpeter because they believed that it would extended life.
They discovered that it could be used to create an explosive powder called gunpowder. The first
weapon the Chinese made with gunpowder was the flamethrower, which used a mixture of gunpowder
and oil. Some other weapons the Chinese created with gunpowder were artillery shell, which were
launched by the catapult. Also, smaller bombs called grenades were thrown by hand. During the song
dynasty, rockets were developed. It used charcoal, saltpeter, and sulfur. The ... Show more content on

The first magnets were pieces of lodestone. The Chinese later replaced lodestone with the iron needle,
which was much more accurate than lodestone. They had learned that rubbing a steel needle with
lodestone made the needle magnetic.
By the Song dynasty, the use of the magnetic compass had grown to include the sea voyages. This
enabled sailors to navigate through the sea without any landmark or point in the sky to steer by. It was
also used to tell fortunes. If you opened a business in the right direction, your business will prosper.
This was one of the sets of beliefs known as feng shui.
The Chinese invention of porcelain greatly impacted the economy. Porcelain is made by combining
quartz and feldspar, and then baking in a kiln at very high temperatures. This resulted in a hard, white
material that could be used to make dishes, bowls, etc. They also learnt to paint pictures on the
porcelain and add colorful glazes to it.
Porcelain became a very valuable trade item. The Europeans did not learn how to make it until the
18th century. It had replaced plates of gold and emerald in China. Today, people still refer to porcelain

Women During World War II
During World War II, the roles of women have forever been changed. Young men and women decided
to marry just before their sweethearts went overseas to fight for their country. As the men fought
abroad, we began to see women on the Home Front encouraged to be more independent and finding
jobs of their own. These females in the United States stepped up to the plate and began working jobs
that many men had before. Women stepped up and began working in factories, participating in
organizations in regards to the war, all while still running things smoothly at home. While the men
were away for battle, women became proficient cooks and housekeepers, managed the finances,
learned to fix the car, worked in a defense plant, and wrote letters to their soldier husbands.
Women became dominant in the work force during World War II and we saw the roles of the Hispanic
culture specifically go through a huge transformation here in the United States.
Many Latino s were drafted into armed services, which triggered a major migration of Mexicans into
the U.S.
Mexican Americans suffered a high amount of racism and bigotry during World War II and it reached
a breaking point during the Zoot Suit Riots. The Zoot Suit Riots were a series of riots that took place
in East Los Angeles in 1943. Zoot Suiters or pacuchos were the target of U.S. servicemen as they felt
that they had a negative affect on the community at a time when the country should be unified. Sailors

Deviance Is A Existence Of Social Deviance In Society
Everyone once in a lifetime breaks a social norm, or shows some kind of act of deviance. Deviance is
a violation of social norms, it can be relative. Most of the time, what is deviant to some people is not
deviant to others. Howard Becker explained that deviance is not the act itself, but the reactions to the
act. For example, praying at a party; nothing is wrong with praying, but people will look at you like
you are crazy because you usually don t see anybody praying at a party, this is violating a social norm.
Social norms are the rules of behavior that are considered acceptable in a group or society. People who
do not follow these norms may be shunned or suffer some kind of consequence. Therefore, this relates
back to the example praying at a party, people may not talk to you because you are praying at a party;
this is a consequence of violating the social norm. The mild social norms I violated were, not holding
the door for the people behind me, being quiet around close friends, and asking my parents for
permission to do everything. Most of the time I usually hold the door for people behind me, but for the
experiment I didn t hold the door for others. I always hated when people didn t hold the door for me
when I am behind them. Therefore, I knew how some people would react to my behavior. When I got
to school one morning, as I was opening the door I saw my principle behind me, so I decided to do the
experiment on her; I waited till she got behind me to open the door. As I went through the door, I didn
t hold the door for her, I quickly looked at her facial expression, and she wasn t very pleased. This
experiment made feel bad because I usually hold the door for others. I realized that our society really
care about this norm because of her reaction to me. I m always a talkative, outgoing, fun, and loud
kind of person. So not talking around my close friends was really hard to do. As I was doing this
experiment, I observed my friends reactions. They were talking about different things, I never engaged
in the conversation. Then they started asking me, Are you okay Tania? , Is something wrong? , and Is
you mad at us? Once again, I am a very outgoing, fun, and loud person, so not talking around them

The Crucible Act 2 Analysis
The stage lights illuminate Shylock s home, initiating Act 2 scene 5. Shylock is seated on a couch
tying a black tie around his neck. Lancelot is standing nearby. The opening line of the scene is spoken
by Shylock as he straightens his tie. He speaks, Well, thou shalt see, thy eyes shall be thy judge, The
difference of old Shylock and Bassanio with resentment (2.5.1 2). Shylock should pause after each
marked comma and hold a scowling facial expression. He should not be looking directly at Lancelot.
After deciding that his tie is good enough, Shylock should stand as he calls out, What, Jessica! (2.4.3).
Shylock should then hesitate before continuing, as if waiting to see if Jessica will respond. When no
response comes, Shylock should continue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

some ill a brewing towards my rest, For I did dream of money bags to night (2.5. 13 17). Each phrase
should be spoken with increasing anger, and emphasis should be put on the words prodigal Christian .
Jessica should wince at these words.
Shylock appears intimidating, but it doesn t affect Lancelot as he had become accustomed to Shylock

responds, So do I his (2.5.20).
Lancelot continues in a somewhat secretive manner adding, An they have conspired together, I will

Gattaca Self Determination Essay
The role of self determination is quite present throughout multiple scenes within the movie involving
Vincent and his brother competing in their own swimming contest dubbed Chicken in which they
attempt to out swim the other. Initially, Anton outswims brother in almost every race because of his
innate physical advantages not due to his determination as throughout Anton s life he never had to try
due to him being a valid. Though Vincent eventually succeeds and beats his brother in chicken as
through sheer determination as unlike Anton, Vincent was constantly told that he was naturally
inferior. Every time he swam against Anton, he put in all his effort. This is the first demonstration of
the role of self determination within the film as despite losing almost every time Vincent does not lose
hope but instead becomes more determined than before. This proves to Vincent that if he is capable of
beating his valid brother, he is able to fulfil his dream of becoming an astronaut at Gattaca. The role of
self determination is also apparent towards the end of the movie in which the two brothers play
chicken one last time in which Vincent beats his brother once more. Anton yells, Vincent! How are
you doing this Vincent? How have you done any of this? We have to go back. To which Vincent later
replies, You wanna know how I did it? This is how I did it Anton. I never saved anything for the swim
back. This shows that Vincent is 100% dedicated to the task that he is willing to

Music and Cultural Identity
Some may say music is just music; a song is just a song. However, music plays an enormous role in
our psychology, because a single song has the ability to bring about many kinds of thoughts and
emotions in the listener. Music is subtly one of the main factors in which people identify with certain
groups and establish their belonging in society. It shapes people s perspectives on how the world
functions and the roles they play within it. Music can function the same way in a culture; it can reflect
many of the culture s values and ideologies. Music can have many effects on culture and the people s
idea of who they think they are within that culture. Music can serve in a way that promotes cultural
identity and pride, yet it could also play a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their sense of belongingness gives the people pride, because the songs embody the rich history,
culture, and values of Mexico. As a result, people in in Mexican communities are able to proudly
identify themselves as Mexicans. With a vast amount of culturally proud people, Mexican culture will
ultimately be kept alive.
Music can also be a differentiating factor for social and economic classes. In lecture twelve (Roma
music), the clear distinction between the romungre and vlachs musicals groups proved that music
influenced this separation. The types of instruments used, or lack of, tell of the people s standing in the
social and economic ladders. For instance, romungre music is professional, urban, and was played in
elaborate settings. In the video excerpt shown during lecture, the well dressed man played the violin,
while the other members played other various instruments such as the cimbalom and piano. The
possession of the various instruments is clear evidence that the people in that community have extra
money to spend on these luxurious items. In addition to the aesthetics of the performance, the sounds
produced by these instruments also suggest a level of sophistication and class. The song began with a
sow tempo, which offers a smooth timbre. The tempo then sped up, which showed the virtuosity of
performers, suggesting the affluence of the performers, because he was

Debate On Morality With And Without God
M. SURBER
BCOR
STEP II: PAPER OUTLINE
Topic of debate: Morality with/without God
I. Introduction:
a. Throughout my life I have been involved in a dynamic battle that always comes back to one
question: Is there such a thing as God ? I have been raised up in a pretty much non practicing
Christian home. Growing up in this type of lifestyle I have encountered a multitude of different belief
systems that were either Secular or Christian like. But with this debate of if God is real or not, I have
come across the issue of how to walk out my life with the time that I have. This paper will go through
the debate of the topic of morality in secular mindsets, and Christian mindsets. I hope to help you, my
reader, understand the questions: Does morality require God, or is it possible to be a moral atheist? If
not, then where does morality s basis come from in a secular world? And how do Christians and
Secularist think similarly and differently on the topics of morality.
b. Talk about the debate between morality in Christian thought and secular:
i. Is morality good centrally because it is good, or is morality good because it is an attribute of God?
II. THESIS:
a. Christians and secularist have different points of view when it comes down to belief in God,
however all of mankind has morality written into our DNA. This can be seen in secularist through
understanding the secular mindset through modernism and its evolution of reason out of Darwin s
theories. This also can be seen

Earth from Space
As beautiful as the earth is from the ground it is even more stunning from international space stations.
There are approximately 120 artificial satellites in space starting at a distance of 100 to 25,000 miles
from the ground. There are many different types of Artificial Satellites, each with a distinct job. Some
Artificial Satellites help predict the weather, while others gather information about the universe for
organizations like NASA. Satellites can see things far beyond human vision; they transform things
invisible to the naked eye into visible images.
These transformed images show how the sunlight, moisture, land and atmosphere react together to
make life on earth possible. These insights help scientists relate between the planet and it s life. So,
what exactly makes life? What are the essential components, which make life possible on this planet?
Why do sand storms in the Sahara affect the amazon rain forest 5000 miles away? The video Earth
from Space helps us understand the effects of forces on this planet.
It starts with the Sun, at a distance of 93 million miles away from the earth; it warms every inch on the
surface. One of the newer satellites by NASA called Suomi National Polar orbiting which was
launched in 2011, orbits 500 miles away from ground. It enables us to see more substances. For
instance, the spectrum is as long as the distance from New York to Los Angeles. In comparison, the
visible region to the human eye would be the size of a dime. The

Benefits Of Zoos In Zoos
Do zoos fulfill the needs of the animals? Should animals be kept in only one enclosure for their whole
life? Is it worth all the time and money for the animals to be unhappy? Many people think zoos are
doing a good job of keeping animals happy in the man made zoos. Because people think that, they
support the zoos by giving them money to see these animals instead of going to animal preservations
where the enclosures aren t entirely man made. Animals that can function and survive in the wild
should not be kept in zoos because the enclosures do not meet the needs of the animals living in them,
zoos restrict animals from their innate behavior and their natural instincts, and zoos are expensive and
damage animals homes.
Enclosures in zoos do not provide everything the animal needs. In paragraph 6 in the article ... Show

In paragraph 4 of the article Do Animals Lose in Zoos? it says Zoos spend millions of dollars to create
bigger and better enclosures to improve the conditions for the animals. In order to build a big zoo, the
person who owns the zoo must clear out land for the zoo, which means animals homes will be wiped
out. Although the money spent for bigger enclosures gives the animals improved living conditions, it
would be much more efficient for the animals to just live in the wild and we wouldn t have to spend so
much money for zoos. Instead, the money spent for zoos can be used for more important things such
as medical research or even animal preservations. Animal preservations care for animals that can t
fend for themselves in the wild and teach people how to help, instead of keeping perfectly capable
animals in man made enclosures. Although animals in captivity do live longer, they probably are not
happy with their living conditions. Therefore, wild animals should be kept out of zoos, unless they can
not survive on their own, then they should be taken to an animal

Essay on Amillennialism
Amillennialism Amillenianism literally means no millennium. This name stems from the disbelief that
there will be a literal thousand year period called the golden age, either before or after the return of
Christ (Gregg 459). This view unlike the others, is not a new concept, even though the name is new. In
fact, R.B. Strimple claims this particular view has been around as long as Christianity (83).
Amillennialists generally assume that all millennium prophecies are fulfilled in between the first and
the second coming of Christ (Gregg 459). The time subsequent to the first coming and prior to the
second coming is known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Believing that the two resurrections in Revelation 20:4 6 are occring at the same time is blasphemy
and heretical in my opinion. This passage clearly confims a different timing for each, first resurrection
at the first coming, second resurrection at the second coming. This alone makes me mad. Along with
the resurrection wickedness, amillenialists will disagree with the thousand year reign on earth.
Revelation 20:3 speaks about Satan being locked away in the abyss so that he cannot tempt or deceive
the nations earth. I personally believe that God will reign in both heaven and on earth during the
thousand year period.
Dispensational Premillennialism Dispensationalism is a period of time during which man is tested in
respect to his obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God (Pentecost 391). There are three
components of dispensationalism that I need to go over before I get deeper into the theology of it;
first, dispensationalism consistently interprets the Bible literally. I have found that other views go
literal and symbolic, depending on the subject, but not dispensationalism. Second, dispensationalism
distinguishes between the church and Israel. This kind of approach allows us to understand that at one
time, God was dealing with Israel, but now He is dealing with the church, and one day He will deal
with Israel again. Lastly, dispensationalism has to do with understanding God s ultimate purpose; that

  • 2. Marketing Plan for Mountain Equipment Marketing Paper The author of this assignment is asked to provide four major components. The first is to come up with a new product line that is not already in the Mountain Equipment product array. The second is to describe the target market for this new product line. The third is to identify two competitors for the new products and to flesh out how MEC will provide a better option than those other competitors and the last one will be a brief marketing plan for how MEC might launch the new product line. Product Marketing Plan Details In looking at the MEC website, there is a clear section for smartphone compatible devices but the same is not true for tablet devices and that is an obviously missing link. There are some tablet compatible devices in the smartphone section, but there needs to be a tablet specific section because tablets are soaring in use and popularity and MEC needs to latch onto the people that use the Samsung and Apple tablet computers, among other brands like Dell, Toshiba, Amazon and others. The new product line being suggested here is for MEC to launch a specific section that sells products specifically designed for or more easy to use and function with on tablets. Indeed, MEC does not seem to make its own goods. Rather, they market products from vendors like Garmin and such when it comes to consumer electronics. No need to reinvent the wheel on that, but there needs to be a clear section for tablet computers and the smartphone specific goods will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. State Mass Killings in Indonesia 1965 to 1966 Essay State Mass Killings in Indonesia 1965 to 1966 In order to develop a general framework with which to understand collective political violence, I examine state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. While acknowledging the importance of historical/cultural factors, I identify elements within the sociopolitical sphere that influence actors of collective political violence at national, local, and event specific levels. Elements discussed are elite interests, justification for violence, formal organizations, and mobilization factors. Finally, I suggest future preventative policy measures. Introduction Violence marks much of human history. Within the sociopolitical sphere, violence has continually served as a tool used by various actors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within this framework, I determine the relative importance of historical/cultural factors, elite interests, justifications for violence, organization and individual perceptions. Finally, I present questions for future research and preventative policy options. Common explanations of political violence in Indonesia focus on local culture, the legacies of colonialism, and the social conflicts through which violence manifests. Often, observers describe such events as spontaneous and uncontrollable. One obtains the impression that riots are explosions of latent tensions and mass killings, unstoppable runaway trains. However such explanations are at best incomplete and significantly obscure important variables. Mass collective violence is rarely spontaneous. Elite interests, formal organizations and actors at various levels interact to create violent 1 outcomes. I consider such interactions surrounding the state mass killings in Indonesia 1965 66. The Frames of Violent Forms Defined generally as the use of physical force or coercion, used with the intention of bringing harm to others (and their material goods), which is linked to a struggle for power , political violence make take on numerous forms. Such forms are characterized by varying elements of intensity, destructiveness, and duration. It is not my intention to provide a general descriptive theory of political violence. Given the varied nature of political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American Careers in the Terkel s Working Essay America: The People behind the Professions A little girl dreams of a white wedding with white doves flying over the ceremony and the fairy tale honeymoon. Only then to come home to the yellow house in the country, with the white picket fence included. Everyone has daydreamed about their future and having the perfect house, with the perfect car and the perfect marriage everyone wants to live the American Dream . There are many people that believe that the American Dream is a concept that they are entitled to and expected to live. Then, there are those who believe that you should use the opportunities that America offers as a stepping stone to earn and create your own American dream . However, as time goes on the mainstream ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You can t sock General Motors, you can t sock anyone in Washington. You can t sock a system. Lefervre is frustrated that the system isn t perfect and there isn t a whole lot that he can do to make a change. He feels trapped and continues on the daily grind hoping for a better tomorrow. Then there is Fritz Rita, doorman for over 40 years in an apartment house in Upper West Side, that used to be the cream of the crop. It was real high class, he says, sorrowfully. Nice furniture, rugs on the floor, wearing fancy uniforms. Even with all its grandeur, the tenants looked down on me... you only spoke when they spoke to you, otherwise you didn t say nothin . It would be a rarity in present day society to see a Doorman, more so picturing someone of his class engaging in conversation with a guest, like Studs Terkel. As he thinks of this, it cheers him up. Times change. Today it s different. Today is every day more liberal... More on the equal side, more friendship. Equality is one of the few positive things that have come out of America s many changes. Many are glad to see more equality, however regret the loss of the past dignities and social niceties. These thoughts bring fear that this new empathy is a sign that our society is crumbling. America: The People behind the Professions 4 Rose Hoffman, for 35 years was a teacher in a poor, urban ... • 5. Erich Fromm Erich Fromm in his novel To Have Or To Be argues that there are two forms of existence: having and becoming. He believes that modern society is dominated by the to have mode, which is as a soul less and selfish pursuit of material possessions. He also argues that neither capitalism nor communism offer a way out of society s obsession with having because both economic systems have a materialistic foundation. Therefore, Fromm attempted to synthesize capitalism and Marxist humanism to form a society based on becoming. Fromm defined becoming as the mode of existence in which one neither has anything nor craves to have something, but is joyous, employs one s faculties productively, is oned to the world (16). The main difference between being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the poem Tennyson describes the reaction he had toward a flower he saw while taking a walk. Instead of merely enjoying its beauty he wanted to have the flower and thus he plucked it. Tennyson, even though he gained spiritual insight, ultimately killed the flower because of his interest in it. Fromm s thesis is that society in its having mode of existence destroys the natural world in its pursuit for knowledge and truth (plucking the flower). For example, scientists dismember natural systems to understand their function and origin. Scientists may gain knowledge, but at the price of killing or damaging the system they were observing. Overconsumption and pollution will always be a problem for as long as mankind view the natural world as something to have or to own. An antithesis to Fromm s assertion is that interfering with the natural world does not harm it (or plucking the flower will not kill it). God created the world for mankind thus mankind can do with it as they please. I offer a synthesis of both philosophies by suggesting that a passive appreciation of nature is good and is needed, but manipulating nature is also needed for scientific advancement. However, science must not be in the having mode, but rather it must be humble to avoid overconsumption and eventual catastrophe. The purpose of science is to learn and to become better citizens of the world (or to become one with the world). However, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Analysis Of Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince Matt Hodel Dante Ms. Harlow 7 May 2012 Perversions of Hell in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince J. K. Rowling, along with many other modern fantasy authors, owes a great deal to Dante in the formulation of her best selling series. Though the subject matter she undertakes a magical world of witchcraft and wizardry would have, in Dante s eyes, landed her in the eighth circle of the Inferno, fourth pouch, Rowling would arguably have been unable to create the magical universe of Harry Potter without immense inspiration from The Divine Comedy. In an overly simplistic picture, Voldemort might be thought of as a representation of Satan, arrogantly believing that he has the power to conquer the whole wizarding community, let alone the entire world, with his magical faculties. Indeed, similar to Satan, Voldemort exemplifies the damning qualities of greed, wrath, violence, deceit, and betrayal every step of the way on his path to power. Nevertheless, Rowling s most visible debts to Dante appear in the aura given off by the darker scenes of her novels. Such chapters evoke a feeling unquestionably reminiscent of The Inferno to anyone familiar with Dante s work. Specifically, near the end of the sixth installment of the series is a chapter in which Dumbledore, a Virgil figure, takes Harry, the Dante to Dumbledore s Virgil, on an attempt to destroy the first of seven horcruxes. The chapter alludes to Canto III of The Inferno through a series of direct contrasts with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The National Environmental Policy Act Essay The National Environmental Policy Act Our Congress created the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in 1969 in order to establish an environmental foundation for mankind. This policy endorses harmony between humans and the vast ecosystems surrounding them. To obtain this goal and provide our future with resources as well, NEPA is separated into two titles. The first title declares the policy in detail while the second title focuses on the Council on Environmental Quality. The CEQ oversees the effectiveness of current methods, the reactions of the environment to those methods, and implements revisions as necessary. A proposal to alter the current environmental status must state the anticipated impact of the change, any possible negative effects and proposed alternatives, short and long term uses of the change and any irrevocable use of resources. Additionally, there must be consultations with any Federal agency that has jurisdictional law or special expertise with that particular environmental issue. The President, the CEQ, and the general public subsequently review the proposal. If a proposal has unresolved conflicts in any area it is not simply dismissed. • 11. Essay about Cocoanut Grove Fire From the Ashes Fire protection engineering, or the application of science and engineering to protect people and their environment from fire, has been around for centuries. The problem with advancements in this field is that they are preventative and, if ahead of their time, often seen as unnecessary. As a result, they are usually not considered or implemented until after severe tragedy has struck. A prime example of this is also the first recorded use of fire protection engineering. In AD 64, Emperor Nero had regulations drawn up that required fireproof materials used in the external walls to the city. This, of course, happened only after an estimated seventy percent of Rome was lost to fire. More noticeable regulations happened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 27. Deviance Is A Existence Of Social Deviance In Society Everyone once in a lifetime breaks a social norm, or shows some kind of act of deviance. Deviance is a violation of social norms, it can be relative. Most of the time, what is deviant to some people is not deviant to others. Howard Becker explained that deviance is not the act itself, but the reactions to the act. For example, praying at a party; nothing is wrong with praying, but people will look at you like you are crazy because you usually don t see anybody praying at a party, this is violating a social norm. Social norms are the rules of behavior that are considered acceptable in a group or society. People who do not follow these norms may be shunned or suffer some kind of consequence. Therefore, this relates back to the example praying at a party, people may not talk to you because you are praying at a party; this is a consequence of violating the social norm. The mild social norms I violated were, not holding the door for the people behind me, being quiet around close friends, and asking my parents for permission to do everything. Most of the time I usually hold the door for people behind me, but for the experiment I didn t hold the door for others. I always hated when people didn t hold the door for me when I am behind them. Therefore, I knew how some people would react to my behavior. When I got to school one morning, as I was opening the door I saw my principle behind me, so I decided to do the experiment on her; I waited till she got behind me to open the door. As I went through the door, I didn t hold the door for her, I quickly looked at her facial expression, and she wasn t very pleased. This experiment made feel bad because I usually hold the door for others. I realized that our society really care about this norm because of her reaction to me. I m always a talkative, outgoing, fun, and loud kind of person. So not talking around my close friends was really hard to do. As I was doing this experiment, I observed my friends reactions. They were talking about different things, I never engaged in the conversation. Then they started asking me, Are you okay Tania? , Is something wrong? , and Is you mad at us? • 30. Gattaca Self Determination Essay The role of self determination is quite present throughout multiple scenes within the movie involving Vincent and his brother competing in their own swimming contest dubbed Chicken in which they attempt to out swim the other. Initially, Anton outswims brother in almost every race because of his innate physical advantages not due to his determination as throughout Anton s life he never had to try due to him being a valid. Though Vincent eventually succeeds and beats his brother in chicken as through sheer determination as unlike Anton, Vincent was constantly told that he was naturally inferior. Every time he swam against Anton, he put in all his effort. This is the first demonstration of the role of self determination within the film as despite losing almost every time Vincent does not lose hope but instead becomes more determined than before. This proves to Vincent that if he is capable of beating his valid brother, he is able to fulfil his dream of becoming an astronaut at Gattaca. The role of self determination is also apparent towards the end of the movie in which the two brothers play chicken one last time in which Vincent beats his brother once more. Anton yells, Vincent! How are you doing this Vincent? How have you done any of this? We have to go back. To which Vincent later replies, You wanna know how I did it? This is how I did it Anton. I never saved anything for the swim back. This shows that Vincent is 100% dedicated to the task that he is willing to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Music and Cultural Identity Some may say music is just music; a song is just a song. However, music plays an enormous role in our psychology, because a single song has the ability to bring about many kinds of thoughts and emotions in the listener. Music is subtly one of the main factors in which people identify with certain groups and establish their belonging in society. It shapes people s perspectives on how the world functions and the roles they play within it. Music can function the same way in a culture; it can reflect many of the culture s values and ideologies. Music can have many effects on culture and the people s idea of who they think they are within that culture. Music can serve in a way that promotes cultural identity and pride, yet it could also play a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their sense of belongingness gives the people pride, because the songs embody the rich history, culture, and values of Mexico. As a result, people in in Mexican communities are able to proudly identify themselves as Mexicans. With a vast amount of culturally proud people, Mexican culture will ultimately be kept alive. Music can also be a differentiating factor for social and economic classes. In lecture twelve (Roma music), the clear distinction between the romungre and vlachs musicals groups proved that music influenced this separation. The types of instruments used, or lack of, tell of the people s standing in the social and economic ladders. For instance, romungre music is professional, urban, and was played in elaborate settings. In the video excerpt shown during lecture, the well dressed man played the violin, while the other members played other various instruments such as the cimbalom and piano. The possession of the various instruments is clear evidence that the people in that community have extra money to spend on these luxurious items. In addition to the aesthetics of the performance, the sounds produced by these instruments also suggest a level of sophistication and class. The song began with a sow tempo, which offers a smooth timbre. The tempo then sped up, which showed the virtuosity of performers, suggesting the affluence of the performers, because he was ... • 32. Debate On Morality With And Without God M. SURBER BCOR STEP II: PAPER OUTLINE Topic of debate: Morality with/without God I. Introduction: a. Throughout my life I have been involved in a dynamic battle that always comes back to one question: Is there such a thing as God ? I have been raised up in a pretty much non practicing Christian home. Growing up in this type of lifestyle I have encountered a multitude of different belief systems that were either Secular or Christian like. But with this debate of if God is real or not, I have come across the issue of how to walk out my life with the time that I have. This paper will go through the debate of the topic of morality in secular mindsets, and Christian mindsets. I hope to help you, my reader, understand the questions: Does morality require God, or is it possible to be a moral atheist? If not, then where does morality s basis come from in a secular world? And how do Christians and Secularist think similarly and differently on the topics of morality. b. Talk about the debate between morality in Christian thought and secular: i. Is morality good centrally because it is good, or is morality good because it is an attribute of God? II. THESIS: a. Christians and secularist have different points of view when it comes down to belief in God, however all of mankind has morality written into our DNA. This can be seen in secularist through understanding the secular mindset through modernism and its evolution of reason out of Darwin s theories. This also can be seen ... • 33. Earth from Space As beautiful as the earth is from the ground it is even more stunning from international space stations. There are approximately 120 artificial satellites in space starting at a distance of 100 to 25,000 miles from the ground. There are many different types of Artificial Satellites, each with a distinct job. Some Artificial Satellites help predict the weather, while others gather information about the universe for organizations like NASA. Satellites can see things far beyond human vision; they transform things invisible to the naked eye into visible images. These transformed images show how the sunlight, moisture, land and atmosphere react together to make life on earth possible. These insights help scientists relate between the planet and it s life. So, what exactly makes life? What are the essential components, which make life possible on this planet? Why do sand storms in the Sahara affect the amazon rain forest 5000 miles away? The video Earth from Space helps us understand the effects of forces on this planet. It starts with the Sun, at a distance of 93 million miles away from the earth; it warms every inch on the surface. One of the newer satellites by NASA called Suomi National Polar orbiting which was launched in 2011, orbits 500 miles away from ground. It enables us to see more substances. For instance, the spectrum is as long as the distance from New York to Los Angeles. In comparison, the visible region to the human eye would be the size of a dime. The ... • 34. Benefits Of Zoos In Zoos Do zoos fulfill the needs of the animals? Should animals be kept in only one enclosure for their whole life? Is it worth all the time and money for the animals to be unhappy? Many people think zoos are doing a good job of keeping animals happy in the man made zoos. Because people think that, they support the zoos by giving them money to see these animals instead of going to animal preservations where the enclosures aren t entirely man made. Animals that can function and survive in the wild should not be kept in zoos because the enclosures do not meet the needs of the animals living in them, zoos restrict animals from their innate behavior and their natural instincts, and zoos are expensive and damage animals homes. Enclosures in zoos do not provide everything the animal needs. In paragraph 6 in the article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In paragraph 4 of the article Do Animals Lose in Zoos? it says Zoos spend millions of dollars to create bigger and better enclosures to improve the conditions for the animals. In order to build a big zoo, the person who owns the zoo must clear out land for the zoo, which means animals homes will be wiped out. Although the money spent for bigger enclosures gives the animals improved living conditions, it would be much more efficient for the animals to just live in the wild and we wouldn t have to spend so much money for zoos. Instead, the money spent for zoos can be used for more important things such as medical research or even animal preservations. Animal preservations care for animals that can t fend for themselves in the wild and teach people how to help, instead of keeping perfectly capable animals in man made enclosures. Although animals in captivity do live longer, they probably are not happy with their living conditions. Therefore, wild animals should be kept out of zoos, unless they can not survive on their own, then they should be taken to an animal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Essay on Amillennialism Amillennialism Amillenianism literally means no millennium. This name stems from the disbelief that there will be a literal thousand year period called the golden age, either before or after the return of Christ (Gregg 459). This view unlike the others, is not a new concept, even though the name is new. In fact, R.B. Strimple claims this particular view has been around as long as Christianity (83). Amillennialists generally assume that all millennium prophecies are fulfilled in between the first and the second coming of Christ (Gregg 459). The time subsequent to the first coming and prior to the second coming is known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Believing that the two resurrections in Revelation 20:4 6 are occring at the same time is blasphemy and heretical in my opinion. This passage clearly confims a different timing for each, first resurrection at the first coming, second resurrection at the second coming. This alone makes me mad. Along with the resurrection wickedness, amillenialists will disagree with the thousand year reign on earth. Revelation 20:3 speaks about Satan being locked away in the abyss so that he cannot tempt or deceive the nations earth. I personally believe that God will reign in both heaven and on earth during the thousand year period. Dispensational Premillennialism Dispensationalism is a period of time during which man is tested in respect to his obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God (Pentecost 391). There are three components of dispensationalism that I need to go over before I get deeper into the theology of it; first, dispensationalism consistently interprets the Bible literally. I have found that other views go literal and symbolic, depending on the subject, but not dispensationalism. Second, dispensationalism distinguishes between the church and Israel. This kind of approach allows us to understand that at one time, God was dealing with Israel, but now He is dealing with the church, and one day He will deal with Israel again. Lastly, dispensationalism has to do with understanding God s ultimate purpose; that is, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
