An Individuals Resistance to Change
An Individuals Resistance to Change Throughout the years the world has experience change. In the

American as president. The technology world has change, almost every electronic we use now are

As a result they are resistant to change, with the fear of not being educated on new skills and
behaviors (Barotol,2007). Self Interest are employees resistant to change when the realization of levels
of power, money, prestige, job security, and personal convenience are on the line. Resistance can also
be based on simply not understanding why a change has become necessary. An example could be
when an employee who does not use social media does not understand why a Facebook page would be
a good idea for a company. At times the employees really do not understand what the managers
motives are so they tend to question why these changes are taking place (Baack,2012). Kotter s Eight
Step Plan. John kotter invented a second approach builds on Lewin s three step model and adds detail
(Kotter, 1996). According to Kotter, change involves 1.Establishing a sense of urgency and a
compelling reason to make the change involves Forming a power coalition to lead the change,
Creating a new vision with supporting strategies, Communicating the vision to all employees,
Empowering others to act on the vision, including encouraging risk taking and creativity, Planning for
and rewarding short term wins that move toward the new vision, Consolidating improvements,
reassessing changes, and making adjustments and Reinforcing the changes by showing the
relationship to organization success. Whichever approach is used, managers should remember that
change is often an unsettling process. Expect

A Common Story Told Around Halloween
A common story told around Halloween is the tale of the Headless Horseman. Within the past century,
both Disney and Hollywood have given their views on the classic tale. Disney holds most of the
original concept of Irving s tale than the Tim Burton s movie. However, the changes in the bridge
scene, the concept of the characters, and the horseman takes valuable meaning away from Irving s
timeless classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
In Irving s original and Walt Disney view of the bridge scene was the same. The legend according to
Brom Bones, after a person that is chase crosses the bridge. The Headless Horseman would not chase
the person any longer. Ichabod took the advice and it did not turn out well for him, the next morning
in place of Ichabod was a pumpkin. Yet, the Tim Burton version was much different, on how the
bridge scene played out. The scene took place at the church, in this case, the Horseman could not cross
the fence. The Horseman thought outside of the fence to kill his next target, Van Tassel. So the
Headless Horseman takes a piece of fence and throws it throws it through the church window. With
these two differences in one scene, there is room for the characters to flex to meet the needs of the
changes. Irving s and Disney s description of Ichabod Crane different to that of Tim Burton. The first
instance is the description of Ichabod s appearance. His head was small, and flat at top, with huge
ears, large green glassy eyes, and a long snipe nose,

It seems unusual to start from scratch with such a thing. With there being several types of accents,
why must one feel like they should change theirs? As Text B illustrates, it seems as though it is
celebrities in particular that are changing their accents to fit in with showbiz and the latest trends or
for a movie they will play a part in. Within seconds of meeting someone, we make judgements about
who they are just by the way they sound. Attitudes towards accents are based more on social
connotations and prejudices surrounding the location or social group associated with that accent than
on the sound itself.
The reason people may be obliged to change their accent is to feel like they fit in and not stand out, so

Regional dialects were seen to be used by those from a lower class and being less intelligent.
However, regional dialects were given points for sounding warm, trustworthy, friendly and honest.
These positive connotations are usually for rural, beautiful landscapes. To find this, he got the same

An advantage of speaking RP is mainly the idea that one is widely understood all around the world. In
fact, 46% of company directors see it that regional accents are a disadvantage to business success
therefore, accent can be said to impact your chances of employability into a company. Some regional
accents evoke a positive response and can be an asset in certain occupations for example: call centres
in England tend to employ people who speak with a local accent such as from Ireland, Scotland or
Wales as Giles work said that customers feel more comfortable interacting with an operator that spoke
with a friendly regional accent.
Accent reduction schemes work on the basis that regional dialect will be viewed negatively in
workplace and attempt to change or completely change the way in which someone speaks. Evidence
contradicts this as some regional accents can evoke a positive response and can be an asset in some

Somali Pirates Research Paper
There are many pirates in the Somalian waters. Somalia is a place in East Africa. The Somali pirates
are a criminal enterprise that is getting in millions of dollars in ransom payments. They have been
hijacking ships since the year 2005. Port officials in Somalia are accepting bribes from the pirates to
enter the Somali waters (Scott Baldauf 1). These Somali Pirates resorted to piracy because of an
economic devastation that happened in Somalia in the 90s. The pirates are Somalians who are raiding
ships that come nearby Somalia. They carefully select a ship to raid. They will want to raid cargo
ships. After they find a ship to raid, they then use force to get into the ship. The pirates carry various
guns to help to get on board the ship. After they manage to get on the ship, they start to take all the
valuables on the ship (Hamza Mohamed 1). They then take the workers of the ship as hostage to gain
more money for their safe return. In the movie, Captain Phillips, the pirates that are in the movie are

Essay about clockwork orange
A man who cannot choose ceases to be a man. Anthony Burgess
A Clockwork Orange is a novel about moral choice and free will. Alex s story shows what happens
when an individual s right to choose is robbed for the good of society. The first and last chapters place
Alex in more or less the same physical situation but his ability to exercise free will leads him to
diametrically opposite choices good versus evil. The phrase, what s it going to be then, eh?, echoes
throughout the book; only at the end of the novel is the moral metamorphosis complete and Alex is
finally able to answer the question, and by doing so affirms his freedom of choice. The capacity to
choose freely is the attribute that distinguishes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The technique is a scientific experiment designed to take away moral choice from criminals. The
technique conditions a person to feel intense pain and nausea whenever they have a violent thought.
The key moral theme of A Clockwork Orange is articulated during a chat between the alcoholic prison
chaplain and Alex two weeks before he enters treatment. He reflects on the moral questions raised by
the treatment that will force Alex to be good. Does God want goodness or the choice of goodness? Is a
man who chooses the bad perhaps in some way better than a man who has the good imposed on him?
The government experiment fails to realize that good and evil come from within the self. The
Ludovico Technique messes with Alex s internal clockwork. He transforms into a being that is unable
to distinguish good from evil. The altering of his personality makes him, as decent a lad as you would
meet on a May morning, unvicious, unviolent...inclined to the kindly word and helpful act, but his
actions are dictated only by self interest to avoid the horrible sickness that comes along with evil
thoughts. He has no real choice, he ceases to be a wrongdoer. He ceases also to be a creature of moral
choice. Being stripped of his free will, Alex is no longer a human he is the government s toy.
Choosing to be deprived of the ability to make an ethical choice [does not mean] you have in a sense
really chosen the good.

Proximate Analysis Of The Coal The Moisture Content Essay
Proximate Analysis In proximate analysis of the coal the moisture content, ash, the volatile matter, and
the fixed carbon in the coal sample is determined. It is the most common simplest form of coal
evaluation. Moisture Moisture occurs in Various forms Within the Coal: Surface or Free Moisture: the
moisture produced on the surface of coal particles Or Inherent Moisture: the moisture produced by
capillary action within the pores of coal. Decomposition Moisture: the moisture produced from the
thermal decomposition of organic constituents of coal. Mineral moisture: the moisture which
comprises part of hydrous silicates such as clays and inorganic materials in coal. There a re different
tests to determine the moisture content of coal. In proximate analysis of moisture the total or residual
moisture content of coal is determined. The total moisture content includes the surface and inherent
moisture and is reported as mass percentage of coal on received basis. Residual moisture determines
the moisture content of an air dried sample of coal. The determination of moisture depends on the
extent of sample preparation and the condition of the coal sample. The whole procedure for
determining the total moisture in coal, begins after collecting the gross sample, begins with preparing
the sample for analysis. If the sample is sufficiently dry, it can be reduced immediately and then air
dried. If the sample is too wet that it

Universal Themes
The universal theme of The Seven Ages of Man is that women and men live brief lives to play their
part before departing from mortality. The universal theme of Demeter is an obsessive mom trying to
get her child back. The universal theme in The Seven Ages of Man and Demeter have similar
universal themes because both themes are basically saying the choices made in life determines the
future. In The Seven Ages of Man one of the stages is the life of a school boy. The school boy
unwillingly attends school and lack discipline. As he grow, he grows into a more mature person. In the
text it states And then the whining g schoolboy, with his satchel and shining morning face, creeping
like snail unwillingly to school. The text also stated Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths, and bearded

The Theory Of Economics And Finance
Economics
As the DIMEFIL paradigm defines economics and finance as two different fronts on which to battle
terrorism, I will begin by defining the terms. The Economy of terrorism is to be considered on a local
or interpersonal level; what are the ground level activities which finance terrorism, and who are the
individuals who take part? The question must also be asked, what can be done to reintegrate these
individuals into the country s larger economic infrastructure?
Economic integration is a must, and is a sector in which the Pakistani government has been lacking. A
chapter from Praeger s Essentials of Counterterrorism entitled The Shadow Economy outlines how
those who function within the shadow economy can find and launder funds ... Show more content on

Growth in the shadow economy can also reflect a reduction in the loyalty to the central government
among the population. A lack of social safety nets can also drive individuals to illegal means to make
ends meet.
Pakistan has done very little to address these issues. As was mentioned earlier in relation to the
Afghan refugees, the police have regularly harassed, extorted, and expelled Afghans. There are also
widespread allegations of corruption along the boarder with Afghanistan made by a plethora of
reputable papers, and it is important to note that there are no statements made expressly about the
border in the 20 point National Action Plan. In a 2014 interview with the BBC, Pakistan s then
national security adviser, Sartaj Aziz, stated said the entire border has been criminalized. By allowing
large parts of the country to remain essentially lawless, Pakistan provides both funding and shelter to
the terrorists who hide in this mountainous region.
In the short term, military operations may be helpful in securing this border, but must be more closely
monitored and substantial than they are now so as to reduce corruption. Long term, however,
economic integration is really the only option. So long as people in this region feel that they can best
provide for themselves and their families by acting in an economic sphere which is by definition
outside of the government s purview, they will continue to operate that

Exodus Decoded Essay
The main argument in Exodus Decoded was that the Exodus actually happened and is not just a story
in the Bible. There were many strengths and weaknesses in Simcha Jacobovici s experiment. In the
movie, he was excavating a site where Moses followers had lived and before going to the sacred land
and that was a strength in his experiment because he was where it began in the story. A weakness he
had was that he never seemed to be wrong when it comes to finding where Moses and his followers
ended up and to see if the Exodus really happened. Another strength was that he had the Stella of
Ahmose. This helped explain what the Exodus was. Pharaoh Ahmose s was an important person to

This is because to me it seemed more dramatic than an actual experiment. Throughout the video he
would say no one knew something that happened in the Exodus, or some proof of the exodus was
never found until now. I feel that it was not impressive. I feel like he was a bit goofing off with the
drama of the video. Also, when he brought up the Ark of Covenant and where it was place lasted. He
had no solid proof as to where it was. No one knows where the Ark of Covenant is since the exodus
and I believe if we knew where the exact one from the Exodus is, then we will be able to clearly stated
that the Exodus happened. The Ark of Covenant is an important artifact when dealing with the
Exodus. There were many areas in this video where I could not stay focused while watching it because
of what I feel like was cliche to do to be dramatic when they thought they found something. In all the
dramatic scenes, there was not one moment where he did not find something. This documentary just
seem too good to be true. Some aspects of this video just did not really fit in. It jumped around a bit I
feel. That made it a little confusing which did not make it compelling for me. Although I did enjoy

A Thousand Acres as Movie is Melodramatic and Bogus Essay
A Thousand Acres as Movie is Melodramatic and Bogus
Perhaps Jane Smiley s Pulitzer Prize winning novel A Thousand Acres was a bit over rated. For one
thing, the book s dark secret seemed utterly implausible. I just didn t believe that the book s
protagonist and narrator, a 37 year old Iowa farm wife named Ginny, could have completely repressed
the fact that her father had sex with her when she was 15 years old, night after night, for a year. For
True Believers in Repressed Memory Syndrome, this might sound like gospel: I found it melodramatic
and bogus. Furthermore, the sensitive unto death narrative voice was dissonant and grating: Ginny
came across as too intelligent and self aware to be as clueless and numb as she ... Show more content

Above all, they play it too safe. Perhaps if they had added new material, approached Smiley s story
from different directions, they could have made a film that would have been truer to the spirit, if not
the letter, of her book. Ploddingly literal, A Thousand Acres is basically a star vehicle that relies on
superior acting to redeem it. It does have superior acting, but that s not nearly enough.
The story involves a tyrannical old patriarch, Larry Cook (Jason Robards, whose skills are not really
utilized), who, apparently forgetting the unpleasant fate that befell Lear, decides to give his farm away
to his three daughters Ginny (Jessica Lange), Rose (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Caroline (Jennifer Jason
Leigh). Larry Lear; Ginny Goneril; Rose Regan; Caroline Cordelia. Get it? But Smiley turns that
phallocentric old fable on its politically incorrect head: Instead of being hounded to madness and
despair by evil children, this patriarch is the evil one, a rigid, remorseless old man who, we learn,
seduced not just Ginny but Rose, too. And he doesn t need to be driven to madness: He goes pretty
much off the deep end, for reasons that are never explained, right after he gives away his property.

The Age Of Exploration And Its Effects On Economic And...
Summative
As European economy grew, and became more reliant on a cash system, replacing the land based
system of feudalism. The power shift is prominent, shifting from the lords and nobles to the merchants
of the middle class. The Age of Exploration has provided a framework for economic life around the
world for several centuries while also shaping politics, social relations, cultures, and natural
environments, changing the very nature of society. Of course the most important aspect of this
modernistic convention would most certainly be the newfound relation between, capitalism and
globalization and their effects on economic and political power. However some countries succeeded in
their endeavour of international trade, while others did not. Europeans constructed and maintained
their trade and territorial empires, whether through conquest, centralizing authority, religious
conversion, commercial monopolies, or through conflict with other Europeans. Economics seems to
be the most significant factor in the production line of human progress. There has been no event in
history that did not involve an aspect of economy. The basis of commerce in the Age of Exploration,
led to growth of international trade that would eventually lead to the Industrial revolution. This
foundation is heavily reliant on European powers enforcing economic trade around merchant
capitalism and the existing monarchy monopolism ideologies.Trade within Europe would continue to
facilitate economic growth

Components in the Formation of Different Medicines Essay...
Chemistry has affected people for years. It will always be a major component in how life progresses.
We use chemistry every day when we cook. We use it every day when simply brushing our teeth.
Toothpaste contains Fluorine. It is a very intense aggressive and reactive element. It is the substance in
toothpaste that whitens our teeth. As you can see there are many things that chemistry contributes to.
Chemistry is a big component of the formation of different medicines. Without chemistry medicines I

There are many other ways to cope with anxiety than medicine. However some people don t have the
time so medicine can be a really amazing thing. Some people including my brothers went to

very helpful, it can also harm people. Just like every other medicine it has many possible side effects.
It can cause depression, hypotension, shortness in breath, dizziness, and weakness. It can also cause
severe respiratory failure. If you take it when you are pregnant it can kill the baby and cause issues
when it comes to breast feeding. It has many issues however it is usually not fatal when people

Justice And Justice In Just Mercy, By Bryan Stevenson
In the novel, Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson, it is extremely apparent that there is a link between
poverty, wealth, injustice, and justice. This book incorporates a strong theme of poverty and how it
relates to justice, as well as injustice. Furthermore, it very apparently works to explain and provide
examples of problems within the justice system, and the urgency that these be corrected. One major
problem being poverty in relation to obtaining justice. This being said, throughout my personal
reading of the book, I have come to agree with Stevenson s statement, the opposite of poverty is not
wealth; the opposite of poverty is justice (Stevenson 18).
Walter McMillian, a man falsely convicted for a crime, experienced an immense amount of injustices
originally fueled from his race and societal status.
I felt the need to explain to people what Walter had taught me. Walter made me understand why we
have to reform a system of criminal justice that continues to treat people better if they are rich and
guilty than if they are poor and innocent. A system that denies the poor the legal help they need, that
makes wealth and status more important than culpability, must be changed. (Stevenson 313)
What I have interpreted this as, is the court system is trying to get through these things as quickly as
possible, as well as try to convict someone as quickly as possible to give the community a sense of
reassurance that a murderer is off the streets. Furthermore, if the

The American Work, The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
To many of us writing can be a daunting task, and often more complicated than it should be, but, as
stated by famed American author Ernest Hemingway, There is nothing to writing, All you do is sit
down at a typewriter and bleed . The fact of the matter is, eventually blood clots, and scabs form. It s
the same in writing; many authors bleed onto a page and use their metaphorical blood as ink, thus
placing a piece of themselves into their work. But, no matter how great the author, eventually writer
block ensues, casting a writer into a literary funk and halting the flow of thematic ideas; however,
themes such as love and wealth transcend time, culture, and language. So it s not difficult to think that
famed authors, when in a pinch, often recycle broad themes to create a more compelling and relatable
story. In the American work, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and its cinematic counterpart,
directed by Baz Lutherman, themes such as wealth, love, isolation, and dissatisfaction are used to
create a novel that still holds parallels to the world of today.
The theme of wealth is prevalent in the works of the The Great Gatsby. The wealthy are portrayed as
educated businessmen who have found a prosperous niche, often illegally. Persons with enough
money are held in higher esteem than their middle class compatriots. In Gatsby s world money buys
social acceptance, and it also grants living in the world without repercussions. In chapter four of The
Great Gatsby, Gatsby, on his

A Mexican Restaurant
The photograph shown in the cover page is the one that I will analyze. It shows a Chipotle restaurant,
which to the average person, is just that, a regular restaurant; however, there is a purpose behind it.
Being in the twenty first century, where the modern era continues to advance, we see affect in not only
our technological gadgets, but also in our restaurants. This era causes restaurants to change into more
appealing environments. Normally, when we think of a Mexican restaurant, we assimilate it with a
very stereotypical way. The stereotypical way we think of a Mexican restaurant is in a traditional
looking building with colors that reflect the country of Mexico. Usually with very fluent waiters and
waitresses who may not be very fluent with English, as well as menus that use the Spanish names of
the recipe, with all the ingredients in Spanish. Basically, when we think of a restaurant in a
stereotypical way, we think of the culture the restaurant is geared to specifically; however, this type of
style breaks that stereotype by creating a very hipster style with its modern advances in its restaurant
that appeals to the Modern Era with also serving the relatively same Mexican food. So the purpose of
the image is to show how the Modern Era doesn t stop at technology in that it also carries on to our
eateries, and how the restaurants have to change along with what is the status quo based on the
population. As talked about in the previous paragraph, the audience is

Humanism In The Great Gatsby
Literature is rolling hills and fields of daisies. It is black smoke billowing from narrow streets. It is
twinkling lights and rivers of gold and the dark secrets hiding behind them. Literature encompasses
both the hopes and dreams of humanity. It is the purest form of human existence and those who pursue
it are the messengers of times past to our future selves. The quote by Amy Lowell, All books are either
dreams or swords, / You can cut, or you can drug, with words ( Sword Blades and Poppy Seed ),
exemplifies the idea that literature has a profound effect on human emotions by reflecting all aspects
of the human experience. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald encompasses both the dreams and
swords of humanity. The sparkling society of West Egg in which Nick Carraway enters is full of the
roaring parties of the 1920s. Jay Gatsby is mysterious and compelling, while Daisy is bright and
hopeful. However, in this society, an undercurrent of a financial crisis and deep personal anguish lays.

Essay about Guide to Becoming a Jerk
Guide to Becoming a Jerk
Being a jerk can be fun. It gives you a feeling of dominance over others; you are more important then
the rest. You are the wolf among a flock of sheep; people fear you, and therefore look up to you. Being
a jerk is not hard; all you have to do is think about yourself and your own feelings, and forget that
everyone else has emotions. There are various ways of achieving this perception of importance; you
can put people down and belittle them, pretend you re better than everyone, or just be plain mean,
unpolite, and nasty. Sure, there might be some little voice inside saying that you are no better than
anyone else is, but you can drown out that nagging reminder with constant insults to others. Nothing

This will make the other person feel insecure and reluctant to talk to you; the people around you will
either think your comments are funny (they aspire to be a jerk like you), or they will consider you rude
and disgraceful. It doesn t really matter what anyone else thinks though, does it? You are yourself and
no one else; you feel only your feelings and no one else s; so why should you be concerned with
anyone but yourself? You are king in your own mind, and your perception is everything.
If you can t be bothered to be a witty, sarcastic jerk, you can just be a regular, mean jerk. This kind of
jerk is intolerant and impatient (to a higher degree than the other type of jerk), rude, and
unsarcastically mean. The next time someone gives you something or does something for you, don t
say thank you or show gratitude; you should even go so far as to complain about what they gave you
or how they should accomplish things faster. Don t be grateful; if you are grateful, people will think
that they can win your favor with good deeds; that s manipulation. You can t let anyone win your
favor; that would show weakness, and you have to be strong to show that you are of great importance.
Be disrespectful to everyone, and elders and authority figures especially. Respect can also be linked to
weakness, since respecting someone can be taken

Prof. David Goutor Great success often comes from previous failures. Without failure, greatness can
be impossible to attain. For this and many other reasons, it is unfair to view the Knights of Labor as
hopeless dreamers who accomplished little. Instead, this paper will express the way in which the

An Globalized World Burden Of Private Investment Is...
Abstract: There is growing consensus among researchers and academicians that in this globalized
world the burden of private investment is increasing over Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Because of
a declining trend in public investment the task of capital formation rests over the shoulder of private
investment and thus FDI playing a leading role in determining the fate of the economy. The economies
receiving more inflow of FDI, are realizing a comparatively high growth and vice versa. This is also
expected to be happen in India. The present paper discusses the relationship between the inflow of
FDI and GDP. It has been found that FDI has a positive correlation with GDP. the regression analysis
between GDP and FDI of different sectors also supported the same result which shows that FDI inflow
in India is playing very important role in determining the size of GDP.

Analysis Of Webrtc Is A Free, Open Project That Enables...
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
WebRTC is a free, open project that enables web browsers with Real Time Communication
capabilities via the use of simple JavaScript APIs and HTML5. The WebRTC components have been
built to serve that purpose. It has been termed as a disruptive innovation that has replaced the software
installation or plug in functionality demanded by the old browsers. It can democratize and decentralize
tools required for content creation and communication like telephony, gaming, video production,
music making, news gathering and many other applications. It builds on the strength of the web
browser and abstracts signalling by offering a simple state machine that maps directly to
PeerConnection. This enables the web developers to choose their own signalling protocols for their
usage scenario. Ultimately, its flexibility and ability to download JavaScript will change the way Real
Time Communication happens in the future.
1. INTRODUCTION
Real Time Communications (RTCs) had a beginning with the dedicated Telephone networks before
they evolved to use the Internet with Telecom type Servers . The significant development that
happened to make the worlds of RTC and Web to meet was WebRTC which was the answer to avoid
the installation of plug ins into web browsers and build Real Time functions directly into the browsers.

Business to Consumer or B2C, electronic business activities that focus on retail transactions. An
example of a B2C company would be Starbucks. Business to Business or B2B, companies doing

company would be the Intel Corporation. The Intel Corporation is an American Global technology
company, whom headquarters is located in Santa Clara, California. The overall marketing goal for
both B2B and B2C companies is the same, increase the profit margin, but the marketing strategies of
the two types of companies will differ based on their company s needs. Both B2C companies and B2B
companies have similar qualities when it comes to their marketing plan. Both types of companies
believe in having a strong brand and having a strong positive image of their companies. However, the
companies will differ when it comes to the reasons why they feel that having a strong brand will be
important to the company. The B2C companies need to have a strong brand in order to maintain and

Nitrogen And Phosphorus Comparison
Introduction
Nitrogen and phosphorus are parts of two biogeochemical cycles that coexist in nature. Although they
occur simultaneously, they have a plethora of ways in which they differ. There is however one thing
they have in common the fact that their supply is essential to all forms of life.
Nitrogen cycle encompasses large flows of nitrogen between the atmosphere, lithosphere,
hydrosphere, and biosphere. The vast amount of nitrogen can be found in the atmosphere, and it
accounts for 80% of the atmospheric gases (Fields 2004). With the atmosphere being almost full of
nitrogen, it would only make sense that there would be plenty of it to use (Fields 2004; Fowler et al.

The balance of these two cycles is being constantly disrupted by anthropogenic interventions. The
most prominent evidence of nitrogen imbalance is water eutrophication, commonly caused by
fertilizer and waste runoff.
The reason why the N2 atmospheric nitrogen compound is not suitable for use, is because the two N

(unreactive).
Its power and therefore energy release upon forming it, is so strong that it can even cause explosions.
According to thermodynamics, breaking down bonds requires energy and forming bonds releases it.
Therefore, the explosiveness of nitrogen compounds is caused by this huge release of energy that
occurs when the nitrogen nitrogen triple bonds

Essay Cinematography in Schindler s List

the importance of the way the director uses sounds and color to make some much significant points of
a film.
I decided to emphasis the way certain close ups and facial expressions were used to show very
significant emotions of the characters in the film. In these particular scenes, no words had to be used.
The camera focuses on the character involved in the scene and one can tell exactly what is going on in

The relieved boy runs off. The next scene is a powerful scene. The camera does a close up of Goeth
looking into a mirror. He is adjusting his hair. He seems to slip into a dream world. He envisions
himself the powerful emperor that Schindler describes. He whispers I pardon you . The camera then
focuses on Goeth eyes. Without saying anything, the viewer knows that Goeth is far too gone. He
doesn t have the power described by Schindler. He is a mad man.
Another scene with Goeth that uses camera scene only and silence to depict so much is the scene
where all the Jewish is in the hot trains. Schindler feels compassion toward these suffering people. He
asks that some hoses be provided in order to cool the passengers. The SS guards think, because of
their own perversions, that Schindler is trying to be cruel. They think he is trying to give the Jewish
false hope. Schindler laughs a long with them. He then asks that his very long hoses be brought so that
they will reach the end of the train cars. The next scene shows Schindler spraying the cars at the end
of the line. The camera shows a close up of Amon Goeth. Goeth s expression, without any words,
shows a man that is very confused. You can tell that Goeth now sees that Schindler is not being cruel.
He sees a man that is powerful, compassionate and a member of the Nazi party. Goeth s expression
seems to ask how???

Alternative Fuel, Global Climate Change and the Categorical Imperative
While environmental questions are frequently channeled through practical and economic prisms, it is
also appropriate to consider our econolgy as a function of morality. The ethical dilemmas which
contribute to our policies and our behaviors regarding the use of fossil fuels and our attention to global
climate change are frequently overshadowed by more immediate concerns of survival or mere
comfort.
However, German philosopher Immanuel Kant offers what has become an important if decidedly rigid
framework for facing such an ethical dilemma. According to Kant s deontological constructs,
delineated in his landmark 1785 work, Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals, morality is to
treated as a science. In treating this as a science subject to the immutable laws of nature, morality
becomes the purview of what Kant calls the categorical imperative. For Kant, questions of morality
and ethical decision making are to be settled by an unchanging set of principles shared by all men. To
this end, Kant argues that physics will have its empirical part, but it will also have a rational one; and
likewise ethics although here the empirical part might be called specifically practical anthropology,
while the rational part might properly be called morals. (Kant, 20) From this view, Kant takes the
perspective that ethical free will is a danger to civil and social order. Absent the categorical
imperative, man is left

Adoration Of The Magi And Bruegi Analysis
The two paintings Adoration of the Magi, by Botticelli, and Peasant wedding, by Pieter Bruegel the
Elder are both Renaissance art works made in the 14th and 15th centuries. Botticelli completed the
Adoration of the Magi during the Italian Renaissance. The piece was commissioned by Cosimo de
Medici and encaptures the Medici family witnessing the birth of Jesus Christ. Likewise, Pieter
Bruegel the Elder completed the painting Pheasant Wedding in 1567, which is a depiction of the local

With their family and friends blissfully dining, the peasants depicted in Peasant Wedding manifest the
simple Lutheran religion that was being innovated at the time. The two paintings contrast in this way
because of the indistinct and undeniable religious backgrounds the paintings have.
Although there are many singularities in between the Northern and Southern Renaissance styles there
are distinct similarities in the two artistic communities. One similarity is the the belief in Humanism
that is represented in both the Adoration of the Magi and Peasant Wedding. Humanism is the belief
that stresses the potential value and goodness of human beings and was innovated in both the Italian
and Northern Renaissance. This belief can be seen in the painting Peasant Wedding by the way that
Bruegel the Elder illustrates the congregation of people that had attended the wedding. Likewise, in
The Adoration of the Magi, Botticelli communicates his belief in Humanism by the way he precisely
draws each person in the painting. The two paintings portray the Humanist beliefs through the precise
details in which they paint each person and indicates that they have faith and trust in the human race.

the writer of Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? talked mainly about Martha and George who pretend to

Genghis Khan and his Army in Mongolia in 1162
Temujin, better known as Genghis Khan, was born in northern Mongolia in 1162. After uniting the
nomadic Mongolian tribes in 1206, Khan led a successful military campaign that spanned more than
three decades, pillaging vast areas of land and subjugating millions of people. Though Khan and his
armies are often thought of as cruel barbarians, his advanced military tactics and progressive outlook
on ruling painted him in a somewhat different light. Although he was born to a noble Mongolian
family, early life for Khan was violent and unpredictable. At the age of 10, his father was poisoned
and killed in an attempt to extinguish his claim to leadership. Several subsequent attempts were made
on Khan s life for this same purpose. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During an engagement between the two armies, the Mongolians deployed a false withdrawal, one of
their most common tactics. While the forces of Yinchuan attempted to recover from the initial attack
of Mongolian cavalry, a massive siege was launched upon the city. Although the Mongolian attempt to
flood the city ultimately failed, the Xi Xia ruler recognized the military superiority of the Mongolians
and decided to submit and present tribute. After conquering the kingdom of Xi Xia, the Mongols
attacked the Jin Dynasty of northern China. This war was aggravated by the Jin ruler, who demanded
that Mongolia submit to the Jin Dynasty as a vassal state. From 1211 to 1214, the Mongolians fought a
war of attrition, pillaging the countryside and sending thousands of refugees into the cities, creating
major food shortages. Seeing no alternative, the Jin army massacred tens of thousands of its own
peasants in an attempt to prevent large scale starvation. In 1214, the Mongolians besieged the severely
weakened capital of Zhongdu (now Beijing), the Jin ruler immediately surrendered and offered large
amounts of gold, silver, silk, and horses as tribute. When the same ruler later angered Khan by moving
his court south to the city of Kaifeng, in breach of their agreement, Khan retaliated by burning the city
of Zhongdu to the ground. In 1219 Genghis Khan

Tokugawa s Contribution To The Collapse Of A Civilization
When civilizations begin they have enough resources and food to last them a while, but as the
population grows and the city becomes more advanced, problems start to occur. The amount of
resources will start to die down and the citizens won t have enough to sustain themselves. There are
many factors that contribute to the collapse of a society, but environmental issues such as
deforestation, is one of the larger reasons for a civilization s downfall. Although civilizations such as
Easter Island and Maya collapsed partly due to deforestation which was caused by their inability to
control the supply of trees, Tokugawa was a civilization that endured through deforestation by creating
new solutions and finding new resources to sustain their civilizations. ... Show more content on

The growing population of the world demands shelter, food, and clothes. This need for the resources
that trees supply is high enough that it seems acceptable for a large percent of forests to be destroyed,
but this brings up the issue of whether there is enough resources to last forever or whether they will
run out. If the world runs out of the needed supplies to sustain human life then the answer to the
question, are we doomed, becomes extremely evident. Without trees, civilization will lack the
resources needed to keep a healthy diet and a stable shelter. Not only that, but the amount of fresh
oxygen, which we get from trees, will decrease. So as long as the world s resources are preserved for
as long as the human race continues to live and thrive, then we should not be doomed, but as natural
resources begin to disappear it becomes more and more possible that the world and everyone in it
could be

Vito Corleone Archetype
Vito Corleone Vito Corleone of The Godfather trilogy is shown to be the Mafia boss character
archetype done right. While the other characters have their own strengths, their weaknesses are
brought to light when around Vito. Barzini lacks the class of the don, Ciccio is more petty and cruel,
Fanucci is rather brutish, and Michael does not have the warmth and joie de vivre that Vito possesses.
While it can be debatable whether or not the the old man [is] slipping, he still has the wisdom and
intelligence that makes him a capable leader of the Mafia. Most of the time, he is shown to be silent,
intense, and has no conflicting or regrettable feelings for his actions. Vito is also able to read the
intentions of others, is a smooth and subtle talker, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the series, he had wanted to become a senator, or possibly the President of the
United States. However, vengeance drives him to take part in his family s illegal actions that he once
wanted to be separated from. While he is reluctant to take on such responsibilities, initially not feeling
fully reconciled when he works for his father, he shows that he can be cold blooded, ruthless, and
determined for the job. Not only that, but he can think under pressure, is a decisive individual, and is
able to command respect. Thus, Vito is able to let him take charge. Michael can represent two
character archetypes: the child of an immigrant seeking the American dream and the fallen hero. The
American dream has a variety of meanings to different people, but in this case, it would mean that
Michael is working to achieve success much like his parents did. It is recognized that the cost of
working towards success comes at a price, but this is where the fallen hero trope comes into play.
When Michael decides to seek revenge, he works for the Mafia and believes he is a sacrificial hero to
the family he s trying to raise, slaving away for their sake. He had good intentions; he only wanted to
bring legitimacy to his family. Rather than the results being that they were safe and well off, this leads
him to lose his wife and children,

Guns Germs And Steel Analysis
Why do some people get the privilege to live great and others have to suffer everyday? There are
many places in the world today that are not great places to live and grow up but people don t always
have a choice. Guns, germs, and steel by Jared Diamond is written with a purpose to discuss and
reveal why some societies have so much and others have so little. He explains the theory behind
geographical luck and migration. He also talks about how these two things can lead to technology
advances. The reason behind the difference of technology and economy advances all begins with the
geography and the way that guns, germs, and steel were introduced and how they were introduced.
Geography luck is describing how lucky you are with the land that is provided for example the closer
to the fertile crescent the better and more resources you will have. People don t understand how big of
a help it really is to have a greater supply of resources because by having a selective food resource
people are able to store food. Since more food can be stored and saved people can become more
dependent on the land continuously providing for them instead of worrying about hunting and
gathering. For example, New Guinea is unlucky due to the lack of resources and rich soil which means
they have to spend all of their time hunting and gathering to provide enough food for that day. Hunting

Living near the Fertile Crescent was a huge help due to the 7,000 years of inherited metal technology
that was developed there. This put them two steps ahead of everyone that was in their way. The
Europeans location and history helped them acquire Guns, Germs, and Steel and they were the first
ones to do that. The Europeans were able to take over other people because of how early they
advanced with guns and how they were starting to adapt to the germs while others were just being

Self Interest are employees resistant to change when the realization of levels of power, money, prestige, job security, and personal convenience are on the line. Resistance can also be based on simply not understanding why a change has become necessary. An example could be when an employee who does not use social media does not understand why a Facebook page would be a good idea for a company. At times the employees really do not understand what the managers motives are so they tend to question why these changes are taking place (Baack,2012). Kotter s Eight Step Plan. John kotter invented a second approach builds on Lewin s three step model and adds detail (Kotter, 1996). According to Kotter, change involves 1.Establishing a sense of urgency and a compelling reason to make the change involves Forming a power coalition to lead the change, Creating a new vision with supporting strategies, Communicating the vision to all employees, Empowering others to act on the vision, including encouraging risk taking and creativity, Planning for and rewarding short term wins that move toward the new vision, Consolidating improvements, reassessing changes, and making adjustments and Reinforcing the changes by showing the relationship to organization success. • 3. A Common Story Told Around Halloween A common story told around Halloween is the tale of the Headless Horseman. Within the past century, both Disney and Hollywood have given their views on the classic tale. Disney holds most of the original concept of Irving s tale than the Tim Burton s movie. However, the changes in the bridge scene, the concept of the characters, and the horseman takes valuable meaning away from Irving s timeless classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. In Irving s original and Walt Disney view of the bridge scene was the same. The legend according to Brom Bones, after a person that is chase crosses the bridge. The Headless Horseman would not chase the person any longer. Ichabod took the advice and it did not turn out well for him, the next morning in place of Ichabod was a pumpkin. Yet, the Tim Burton version was much different, on how the bridge scene played out. The scene took place at the church, in this case, the Horseman could not cross the fence. The Horseman thought outside of the fence to kill his next target, Van Tassel. So the Headless Horseman takes a piece of fence and throws it throws it through the church window. With these two differences in one scene, there is room for the characters to flex to meet the needs of the changes. Irving s and Disney s description of Ichabod Crane different to that of Tim Burton. Justice And Justice In Just Mercy, By Bryan Stevenson In the novel, Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson, it is extremely apparent that there is a link between poverty, wealth, injustice, and justice. This book incorporates a strong theme of poverty and how it relates to justice, as well as injustice. Furthermore, it very apparently works to explain and provide examples of problems within the justice system, and the urgency that these be corrected. One major problem being poverty in relation to obtaining justice. This being said, throughout my personal reading of the book, I have come to agree with Stevenson s statement, the opposite of poverty is not wealth; the opposite of poverty is justice (Stevenson 18). Walter McMillian, a man falsely convicted for a crime, experienced an immense amount of injustices originally fueled from his race and societal status. I felt the need to explain to people what Walter had taught me. Walter made me understand why we have to reform a system of criminal justice that continues to treat people better if they are rich and guilty than if they are poor and innocent. A system that denies the poor the legal help they need, that makes wealth and status more important than culpability, must be changed. (Stevenson 313) What I have interpreted this as, is the court system is trying to get through these things as quickly as possible, as well as try to convict someone as quickly as possible to give the community a sense of reassurance that a murderer is off the streets. Scott Fitzgerald To many of us writing can be a daunting task, and often more complicated than it should be, but, as stated by famed American author Ernest Hemingway, There is nothing to writing, All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed . The fact of the matter is, eventually blood clots, and scabs form. It s the same in writing; many authors bleed onto a page and use their metaphorical blood as ink, thus placing a piece of themselves into their work. But, no matter how great the author, eventually writer block ensues, casting a writer into a literary funk and halting the flow of thematic ideas; however, themes such as love and wealth transcend time, culture, and language. So it s not difficult to think that famed authors, when in a pinch, often recycle broad themes to create a more compelling and relatable story. In the American work, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and its cinematic counterpart, directed by Baz Lutherman, themes such as wealth, love, isolation, and dissatisfaction are used to create a novel that still holds parallels to the world of today. The theme of wealth is prevalent in the works of the The Great Gatsby. The wealthy are portrayed as educated businessmen who have found a prosperous niche, often illegally. It shows a Chipotle restaurant, which to the average person, is just that, a regular restaurant; however, there is a purpose behind it. Being in the twenty first century, where the modern era continues to advance, we see affect in not only our technological gadgets, but also in our restaurants. This era causes restaurants to change into more appealing environments. Normally, when we think of a Mexican restaurant, we assimilate it with a very stereotypical way. The stereotypical way we think of a Mexican restaurant is in a traditional looking building with colors that reflect the country of Mexico. Usually with very fluent waiters and waitresses who may not be very fluent with English, as well as menus that use the Spanish names of the recipe, with all the ingredients in Spanish. Basically, when we think of a restaurant in a stereotypical way, we think of the culture the restaurant is geared to specifically; however, this type of style breaks that stereotype by creating a very hipster style with its modern advances in its restaurant that appeals to the Modern Era with also serving the relatively same Mexican food. So the purpose of the image is to show how the Modern Era doesn t stop at technology in that it also carries on to our eateries, and how the restaurants have to change along with what is the status quo based on the population. You are yourself and no one else; you feel only your feelings and no one else s; so why should you be concerned with anyone but yourself? You are king in your own mind, and your perception is everything. If you can t be bothered to be a witty, sarcastic jerk, you can just be a regular, mean jerk. This kind of jerk is intolerant and impatient (to a higher degree than the other type of jerk), rude, and unsarcastically mean. The next time someone gives you something or does something for you, don t say thank you or show gratitude; you should even go so far as to complain about what they gave you or how they should accomplish things faster. Nahean Nazmul (0862852) Labour Studies 1A03 Spring/Summer 2012 Prof. David Goutor Great success often comes from previous failures. Without failure, greatness can be impossible to attain. For this and many other reasons, it is unfair to view the Knights of Labor as hopeless dreamers who accomplished little. Instead, this paper will express the way in which the Knights of Labour contributed to a greater social blueprint; a blueprint that helped shape future generations. Abstract: There is growing consensus among researchers and academicians that in this globalized world the burden of private investment is increasing over Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Because of a declining trend in public investment the task of capital formation rests over the shoulder of private investment and thus FDI playing a leading role in determining the fate of the economy. The economies receiving more inflow of FDI, are realizing a comparatively high growth and vice versa. This is also expected to be happen in India. The present paper discusses the relationship between the inflow of FDI and GDP. It has been found that FDI has a positive correlation with GDP. the regression analysis between GDP and FDI of different sectors also supported the same result which shows that FDI inflow in India is playing very important role in determining the size of GDP. Key Word: Foreign Direct Investment, Sustainable Growth, GDP, Farm Production Introduction: The process of planning in India has always been sensitive to the needs of the poor and the plight of excluded from its early days. Government of India sought to solve all the socio economic problems with the help of rapid and sustained economic growth, because our planners were working with the view that as the size of national income will be high individuals can share more and vice versa (Hashim, S.R., 2007). EXECUTIVE SUMMARY WebRTC is a free, open project that enables web browsers with Real Time Communication capabilities via the use of simple JavaScript APIs and HTML5. The WebRTC components have been built to serve that purpose. It has been termed as a disruptive innovation that has replaced the software installation or plug in functionality demanded by the old browsers. It can democratize and decentralize tools required for content creation and communication like telephony, gaming, video production, music making, news gathering and many other applications. It builds on the strength of the web browser and abstracts signalling by offering a simple state machine that maps directly to PeerConnection. This enables the web developers to choose their own signalling protocols for their usage scenario. Ultimately, its flexibility and ability to download JavaScript will change the way Real Time Communication happens in the future. 1. INTRODUCTION Real Time Communications (RTCs) had a beginning with the dedicated Telephone networks before they evolved to use the Internet with Telecom type Servers . The significant development that happened to make the worlds of RTC and Web to meet was WebRTC which was the answer to avoid the installation of plug ins into web browsers and build Real Time functions directly into the browsers. Although they occur simultaneously, they have a plethora of ways in which they differ. There is however one thing they have in common the fact that their supply is essential to all forms of life. Nitrogen cycle encompasses large flows of nitrogen between the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. The vast amount of nitrogen can be found in the atmosphere, and it accounts for 80% of the atmospheric gases (Fields 2004). The most prominent evidence of nitrogen imbalance is water eutrophication, commonly caused by fertilizer and waste runoff. The reason why the N2 atmospheric nitrogen compound is not suitable for use, is because the two N atoms are linked together with an incredibly powerful triple bond which makes the molecule inert (unreactive). Alternative Fuel, Global Climate Change and the Categorical Imperative While environmental questions are frequently channeled through practical and economic prisms, it is also appropriate to consider our econolgy as a function of morality. The ethical dilemmas which contribute to our policies and our behaviors regarding the use of fossil fuels and our attention to global climate change are frequently overshadowed by more immediate concerns of survival or mere comfort. However, German philosopher Immanuel Kant offers what has become an important if decidedly rigid framework for facing such an ethical dilemma. According to Kant s deontological constructs, delineated in his landmark 1785 work, Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals, morality is to treated as a science. In treating this as a science subject to the immutable laws of nature, morality becomes the purview of what Kant calls the categorical imperative. For Kant, questions of morality and ethical decision making are to be settled by an unchanging set of principles shared by all men. To this end, Kant argues that physics will have its empirical part, but it will also have a rational one; and likewise ethics although here the empirical part might be called specifically practical anthropology, while the rational part might properly be called morals.
