How We Are Affected by People s Views of Nature
How people s views of nature have changed over time in the United States of America and how it has
affected us is a great question. Looking back through history makes it simple to answer this question.
People have very different opinions on to what their answer would be. Reading Out of the Woods
edited by Char Miller and Hal Rothman, Dust Bowl: The Southern Plains in the 1930s by Donald
Worstter, Nature s Metropolis: Chicago and the Great West by William Cronon, The Ecological Indian
by Shepard Krech III, and Something s Rising: Appalachians Fighting Mountaintop Removal by Silas
House makes it easy to comprehend and to answer how our views of nature have changed.
Looking all the way back to the early Indians, Shepard Krech III, the author of The Ecological Indian,
the Indians were not the one with nature individuals you thought they were. Most people that first
think of the Indians were one with nature because of movies and old folk tales. They were reckless
and took advantage of their environment. They used more resources than they clearly needed. The
Indians would waste their animals that they hunted. They caused many problems with the ecosystem
involving plants and animals triggered for the use of fire. They involved fire to clear the undergrowth
of the forest. Their reasoning to do this was because it made travel significantly easier, it made a better
area to hunt, and they used it as protection. Many individuals believed that the Indians were
committing a sin by

The Most Popular Word Of Fuck
Out of all the words that start with an F, fuck is the only word that is considered the F word . There are
many origins of this word, some may appear to be true due to the way we use this word in context
today, but don t be fooled, quite a few origins of this word are actually false. Fuck has taken place of
many words throughout the years, but this generation is breaking tradition. I think this word will be
around for a long time and sooner or later it will be part of our daily vocabulary. A study on Facebook
shows that within three days, the word fuck is used over 9.5 million times, and the numbers are
growing more and more each day. ( The Most Popular Swear Words on Facebook )

the Middle English, but isn t used as consistently as it was back then. Then, shag came in place of
swive in the 18th century and used mostly by the British. Fuck was first used in the Austin Powers

intercourse with someone in which the word is also used as a verb but, on occasions, it can also be

of sexual intercourse. An example of the noun version of the word fuck is, Caroline and I had a fuck in

Social Value Role In Tone Clusters By Joyce Carol Oates
Social Value Role in Tone Clusters By Joyce Carol Oates Tone Clusters is a play written by Joyce
Carol Oates in 1938. She is an American writer who grew up in the countryside outside of Lockport,
New york and where she attended a one room schoolhouse in the elementary grades. She had been
became a typewriter at the age fourteen. Oates graduated from Syracuse University and earned an M.A
in the University of Wisconsin in England then she lived in Detroit. Between 1968 and 1978, Ms.
Oates taught at the University of Windsor in Canada, just across the Detroit River. During this
immensely productive decade, she published new books at the rate of two or three per year and

30s. In 1978, Ms. Oates moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where she continues to teach in Princeton
University s creative writing program. At that time, she and her late husband also operated a small
press and published a literary magazine. The dramatic story of Ms. Oates s career, especially her

Religion values define what people expect of themselves and of others based on the beliefs common
to the religions they practice. Such values represent the core principles that guide daily decision
making. They help people determine which actions to take, and to make judgments about right or
wrong and good or bad. The world s most commonly practiced religions often have similar values,
although variations exist in the way some values are prioritized over others. Such as on the

Research Paper On Guerrilla Marketing
As competitiveness between companies nowadays is every time more and more extended, brands need
to search for ways to make it stand out among the others. Guerilla marketing is one example of this
standing out goal.
Guerrilla marketing was originally a marketing strategy in which low cost, unconventional means
were used in a localized fashion to draw attention to an idea, product, or service. Today, guerrilla
marketing may also include promotion through a network of individuals, groups, or organizations
working to popularize a product or idea by use of such strategies as flash mobs, viral marketing
campaigns, or internet marketing.
The term guerrilla marketing is traced to guerrilla warfare, which employs atypical tactics to achieve
an objective.
Guerrilla marketing was initially used by small and medium sized businesses, but it is increasingly
being adopted by big business. This concept rises from a promotion that relies on imagination rather
than a big budget.
Why Guerilla Marketing? Marketing is such a huge topic, it has so many different utilities, but for me
guerilla is the most interesting one. We can find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Music And Romantic Ballads
Friedrich Nietzsche a German philosopher once said that Without music, life would be a mistake . I
agree with that statement because music is very powerful and important in our daily lives. Just
imagine being stressed at school or maybe your crush didn t love you, listening to music can help you
ease your mind and forget about your worries. We all have certain genre of music that we enjoyed
listening to, such as Hip Hop, Classical, Pop , Country , Gospel, Ballad, etc. For me I enjoyed
listening to Romantic Ballad; a poem or song narrating a story in short stanzas, whenever I feel
distress or bitter because it helps me express my true feeling for something I am passionate towards.
Ballad were originally written to support dancers, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I can personally relate to this song because I have been in similar situation where I have been cheated
on and knew about it but did not confront that person. Romantic Ballad is unlike a party music that
you hear in clubs or dance to when it comes on the radio, because they are usually slow in tempo and
build towards a loud and heartwarming sing alone. It often has a refrain , a repeated section that
separates parts of the story being told in a song. Ballads are usually 13 lines and common forms are
ABAB or ABCB repeated in alternating 8 and 6 syllable lines. Ed Sheeran is a famous english

COLD War and the Arms Race Essay
COLD War and the Arms Race When President Truman authorized the use of two nuclear weapons in
1945 against the Japanese in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end World War II, the nature of
international security was changed irreversibly. At that time, the United States had what was said to
have a monopoly of atomic bombs. Soon thereafter, the Soviet Union began working on atomic
weaponry. In 1949, it had already detonated it first atomic bomb and tensions began to heat up
between the two countries. With the information that the Soviets had tested their first bomb, the
United States began work on more powerful weapons1, and a fight for nuclear superiority had begun.

Many new talks between the two countries would come along with many new advancements in
weaponry. President Kennedy came to office with warnings of a missile gap. The Soviets had
achieved or were achieving a significant advantage in strategic nuclear weapons. Though tensions ran
even higher, Eisenhower s strategy of massive retaliation made little sense and did not account for the
rapidly growing Soviet nuclear arsenal4. Kennedy s nuclear strategy became known as flexible
response. The idea was to acquire the military forces that could deal flexibility with varying levels of
Soviet Aggression3. The most serious confrontation between Russia and the US was the Cuban
Missile Crisis. (Link to Stephanie s page) Soviet leader Khrushchev attempted to place intermediate
range missiles in Cuba. Kennedy responded by imposing a quarantine on Cuba. This resulted in the
removal of the Soviet missiles and led to Kennedy making the decision to dismantle U.S. missiles
based in Turkey. Some analysts argue that the successful outcome was due to the United States nuclear
superiority, which proved that strategic superiority offered important political advantages5. Secretary
of Defense Robert McNamara later concluded, after Kennedy s death, that the only way to defend our
boundaries from a nuclear attack is to counterattack with equal nuclear force.

The Last Boss Of New York
The Last Boss of New York It was beautiful day with a slight breeze that cooled you each time it
passed. My father, Tony Di Marco and I, were taking a stroll around the gardens of our family s
compound in Staten Island, in New York City. My father wearing his usual black tuxedo dinner jacket
with the buttons open and Boutonnière with a red rose, underneath was his black waistcoat with the
button closed, underneath that was his white Shirt and topped off with a black bow tie. His hair was
combed back as far as possible it was short and coloured black with sort off grey streaks which
showed his age. He was built like a house, with his broad shoulders, his body was big and powerful
looking but no wonder because after all he did like the rich food and always had a glass of wine to
wash it down. Facially the feature most remembered after first glance was his cheeks, they sagged
down to about his jaw line, this made his accent powerful as every time he spoke it sounded like he
was questioning what you had said. He had a moustache and it was the length of his top lip, it was as
if it was somebody s eyebrow it was that thin. He walked with grace and power as if he was
untouchable. We walked to the gates and decide to take the stroll further. He told the security guard
who was manning the gates to Open the gates he then slipped the guard a $20 dollars. I loved the way
he did this as it was a sign of power and respect. We walked for a while talking about what would

The Second Epoch ( 1980 )
The Second Epoch (1980 2000s) In the second epoch, the emphasis shifted from regulations to
coordinating the objectives of the environment with other social and economic priorities, with more
attention to human health effects, and to carrying out the environmental policies that were on books,
more resourcefully. In a couple of instances, new goals were formed which went beyond the former
goals, for example, including dangerous materials and hazardous waste to the environmental policy
agenda, the additionally demanding provisions of the Clean Air Act of 1990, and the more prominent
acknowledgment of the international and worldwide implications of pollution. However, the pace of
enactment and the coverage of sources of pollution which were newly identified slowed considerably
in comparison with the first epoch. What changed most particularly was confidence in the philosophy
of regulation and firm control by the government.4 It turned out to be clear that legislation alone,
could neither direct nor police all organizations and groups all over the country, nor could it bear all
the obligation regarding empowering creative reactions to environmental issues. This was not just a
response to the growing involvement of the government. Underlying the second epoch was the
acknowledgment that considerable advancement had been accomplished in lessening harmful
environmental discharges and upgrading protection of resources, in policy if not generally in deed.

Piaget Of Piaget s Sensorimotor Stage Essay
Vignette I This behavior can be explained by Piaget s sensorimotor stage. Piaget discovered that from
the time they are born until they reach about the age of two, children experience the world through
their senses (Myers, 2010, p. 181). Infants, up until about 8 months, also are also extremely focused
on the present and have not yet developed a sense of object permanence, which can lead to the out of
sight, out of mind mindset (Myers, 2010, p. 181). This is evident in the situation at hand, in which a
young child does not recognize a relative seen only months earlier. The child most likely had not yet
developed a sense of object permanence the last time the relative visited, and was quickly forgotten.
Therefore, when the relative was seen by the child after it had begun to remember that things out of
sight did not cease to exist, the child must have developed stranger anxiety from not seeing the
relative. A constructive solution to this situation would be for the relative to simply visit more often.
This would allow the child to get familiar towards the relative, and also help to become increasingly
attached to the relative (Myers, 2010, p. 190). The child would then no longer fear its well meaning
relative. Not to mention, the relative would cease to worry that the young child is being spoiled.
Vignette II Vignette two can be explained by Piaget s preoperational stage. This accounts for children
2 to about 6, and is characterized by using intuitive logic. (Myers,

Film Analysis Of Will Leitch s Sausage Party
In recent discussions of the movie Sausage Party, a controversial issue had been brought up over the
film s comedic styles and overall theme. On one hand, some argue that the unique comedic choices the
film employs are what makes the film hilarious. From this perspective, Will Leitch, a film critic from
the New Republic, finds many of the comedic styles funny. On the other hand, others argue that the
comedy is rather juvenile and offensive. In the words of Andrew O Hehir, one of this view s main
critic, the film is a juvenile, sex obsessed cartoon. In sum, then, the issue is whether the comedic styles
of this film adds to or subtracts from this film.
My own view is that this film was overall hilarious and deeply philosophical. Though I ... Show more

Despite the fact that their creators are known for their lifestyles, it shouldn t deny the fact that the film
did a wonderful job satirizing Pixar style films. The movie in many scenes portray the characters as
artistically appealing but there lies in the joke within their relation to humans, the cute food are meant
to be ruthlessly prepared and eaten by the humans. In the scene where the food were taken out of their
packages expecting eternal joy, they were met instead with knives cutting them up and hot water
boiling them to death. The screams and horrors of the food that was smiling just right before serves as
the main punchline as the reality behind inanimate objects and humans. Contrasting with pixar style
films where they show a glorified adventure without the cruel reality these object really face. With that
being said, there is merit in Andrew s argument due to the insane amount of juvenile jokes within the
story through the usage jokes, stereotypes and a sex scene between food at the end. Despite this, I
fully believe that this movie had value because of the satire and revelation within the movie. On the
contentious topic of comedy, Leitch believes that the overuse of stereotypes eventually makes the
movie funny, Hehir feels that it s simply a way to cover up the pointlessness of the story. A defining
feature of Sausage Party would be the amount of jokes jam packed in a short amount of time. Humor
ranging from insensitive stereotypes to food puns

Essay On Racism And Stereotyping In World Of Warcraft
Racism and Stereotyping in World of Warcraft: The inside look that the company doesn t want to

Massively multiplayer online games (MMOs) are played by millions of people around the globe, and
by one in five Americans (Entertainment Software Association, 2015). Role playing games
(MMORPGs) are a popular subcategory which lets gamers take on a new character, created for the
digital world, to play the game. Three of the top five bestselling computer games in the US in 2014
were MMORPGs, and three of them were from the fantasy genre: Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, The
Elder Scrolls Online, and World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor expansion pack. (Entertainment
Software Association, 2015, p.11) World of Warcraft was the most played MMORPG, with more than
12 million active players and over 100 million accounts. While playing MMORPGs players are
exposed to Racism and Stereotyping from the game itself down to the gamers playing the game.
Research concerning race and video games usually focus on games set in the real world such as games
like the Grand Theft Auto franchise. It shows that minorities are rarely represented, and that when they
do appear the characters are usually racial stereotypes (Burgess, Dill, Stermer, Burgess, Brown, 2011).

The Post War Period Of Italy
The post war period in Italy represents a time of cultural, economic and political instability, as the
nation tried to re create the social bonds broken by the war and attempted to understand, and take
advantage of, the effects of mass industrialisation and urbanisation thanks to the economic miracle . It
was during this time from 1945 to 1960, with the people increasingly disenchanted with the ability of
the camera to truly portray the turmoil of recent history, that a new form of popular, neorealist cinema
emerged to reflect social reality and expand the viewer s moral, cultural and geographic perspectives .
This instability and new cinematographic outlook was the backdrop for two pertinent Italian films:
Rossellini s Roma Città Aperta, an authentic depiction of the daily lives of Italians in Nazi occupied
Rome, and Visconti s Rocco e i Suoi Fratelli, the journey of one Southern Italian family as they
migrate to the North during the economic boom in search of prosperity. For both of these films, the
ideas of resistance and struggle are two closely linked themes which play an integral part in the
portrayal of this period of Italian history. In order to gain a more insightful understanding of how each
of these are conveyed in Roma Città Aperta and Rocco e i Suoi Fratelli, it is beneficial to analyse
these films with reference to two sub themes: resistance to oppression and economic struggle. This
approach will make evident the comparisons between the two

Similarities Between Hunting And Hunting
Hunting and fishing have been around since the beginning of the world. Soon humans would come
along and carry on the practice of surviving and thriving this ancient way. Both hunting and fishing
are skills that are still used today, but are not used so much as to survive but as a sport. What are the
similarities and differences between hunting? Well for those of the readers that have not participated in
either events or do engage but have never wondered about this question, hopefully this essay will
answer all of your questions about the similarity and differences between hunting and fishing. To be
prosperous in both hunting and fishing one must be able to determine the location of the animal you
are stalking. While hunting may be easier to track the animal, fish can only move so much because
they are stuck in a body of water. Both deer and bass prefer to stick in cover of bushes and fallen trees.
Both bass and deer ¨bed during the day; however bass like deer will occasionally move in daylight.
Deer can arguably be easier to find because of new technologies like scopes and rifles that can shoot at
long ranges, but while bass fishing you are most of the time on a craft which is sitting on top of the
water giving you an advantage of being able to see through the it to see the fish swimming. There is
also new technology that uses sonar to map the bottom of the body of water and it can track fish
movement. Both hunting and fishing require one to be able to read and

There are several most popular approaches for hazard process estimation.

What Intimate Relationship Between Transparent Logic,...
Japanese autodidact modernist architect Tadao Ando, explores the intimate relationship between
transparent logic, abstraction, nature and place through the study of material and form and the
interaction between the everyday human life and it s surrounding in his architecture. The interplay of
these elements are evident through his body of work especially his residential Koshino House and
Extension project. His broad depth in understanding the inherent fundamental human needs and his
close study of famous modernist architects such as Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright has resulted
in his prevailing success.

is founded on the sensibility of the Japanese people . As a child growing up in front of a wood

to create wooden models and the skills of a carpenter. There he discovered the beauty of the balance
between a form and the material it is made of. However it was not until he was 18, when he
discovered a book about Le Corbusier and began to travel and analyse traditional and contemporary
architecture in Japan, Europe and the United States, he came to understand these relationships in
actual architecture as an entire physical being. (pritzker prize). His visit to the Pantheon in Rome and

Archetypes In The Hero, The Mentor, And The Shadow
In The Hobbit, there are a variety of characters that play vital roles in the story. While this novel is
filled with many diverse characters, some have specific roles to play. These can be categorized into
archetypes. Archetypes describe the functions that people or items play in a story. Seven of these
archetypes exist, and three of them stand out in The Hobbit. The Hero, The Mentor, and The Shadow
are necessary archetypes that can be found in The Hobbit, and three characters fit these roles perfectly.
First of all, the archetype, The Hero, is represented by Bilbo Baggins, and for this archetype, they
sacrifice themself for the service of the journey. They grow and learn during this time. For example, in
chapter three, the text states, He was thinking once again of his comfortable chair before the fire in his
favorite sitting room in his hobbit hole, and of the kettle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He provided Bilbo with help with his magic, and protected him. An example can be found in chapter
six, when Gandalf states, Up the trees quick! (The Hobbit, page 109). Gandalf told Bilbo what to do.
Then he commanded Bilbo to get up the trees, an order that saved his life. As well, in chapter seven,
the the wizard explains, I always meant to see you all safe (if possible) over the mountains (The
Hobbit, page 125). Hence, this quote proves that Gandalf always looks out for Bilbo Baggins, and
gives him insight to help him. One more piece of evidence can be found in chapter seven, when
Gandalf exclaims, Don t be a fool Mr. Baggins if you can help it; and in the name of all wonder don t
mention the word furrier again as long as you are within miles of his house, nor rug, cape, tippet,
muff, nor any other such unfortunate word! (The Hobbit, page 127). According to this quote, Gandalf
gave advice to Bilbo, and taught him what not to do. Mentoring was what he was

The Right For Same Sex Couples
As you know, since June 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees the
right for same sex couples to marry in all 50 US states.
It is handing gay rights advocates their biggest victory yet. Although, the laws admit their rights, some
people still have some negative thought about LGBTQ. Our group chooses this topic and this course
of action because we want to inform the class and the community the hardships of those in the
LGBTQ community and their coming out stories. We hope to inspire others who are in the closet to
not be afraid of who they are and inspire society to respect the choices and actions of the LGBTQ.

However, lesbians, gay men, bisexual and transgender individuals are among the groups, which are
particularly subjected to discrimination in many cultures and in many societies. There are still 75
countries where same sex sexual acts are still illegal (Itaborahy, p.9). So how hard for a LGBT comes
out. First we have to understand that for member of LGBT community, coming out is a constant
internal and external process that can sometime be met with pain, misunderstanding, and hardship.
They are coming out in many different ways in many different groups. However, there are so many
risks for them when they are coming out.
First, not every one will understand and accepting. It leads to many bad consequences such as their

Pos-335 Individual Assignment File Management Paper
Introduction
The task of implementing a protection scheme that will provide controlled access to specific files in a
system is not only an important but also a necessary task to ensure that the integrity as well as the
availability of that file is maintained throughout. This paper is designed to put into perspective a
protection scheme to facilitate the scenario where a system has 5000 user and 4990 of those users will
need to have access to a particular file within the system. It will also provide clarity on Access control
list (ACL s) their roles as well as the different flavors available. It will also try to prove that proper

Groups
Creating and assigning users to groups in a protection scheme is not only a recommendation but also a
standard for control all modern operating system. Users and machines alike can be assigned to groups
and that group is then placed on ACLs as if they are individual users. Every group member inherits all
the permissions granted to that group on the ACL. This assignment of users and machines to groups
will solve many problems when addressing security issues, one such issue would be the assignment of
permissions to massive number of people rather than individually
Groups permissions are managed by the ACL that grants the user the permissions assigned by the ACL
to take actions on objects. These permissions can be assigned fixed actions for a given group. For
example, a User in the Accounts group could only submit, manage and view data pertaining to the
accounts department. Someone in the Sales group also would only be able to view customer
information, add or remove products or services from the customer account, etc. Permissions also can
be set where there is an all or nothing, parameter where a member of a group manages files across
multiple ACLs. For example the HR group can manage files associated with all employees from every
department. Actions and permissions assigned

Technology And Its Impact On Modern Society
In the past century, society has seen great leaps in technology that has connected people together more
than ever, it has saved lives and continues to make day to day life simply easier to navigate. However,
there are consequences to these advances. With people clamoring every year to get their hands on the
newest iteration of their electronic devices, whether it be the latest iPhone, a more advanced computer
or a high definition television society must confront the problems it has created by its own desire for
technology. As consumers purchase newer and better version of their old electronics the question of
what happens to the old ones is raised. In 2005 alone, it was estimated that Americans disposed of two
million tons of electronic products a year and that by 2010 that number would grow to four hundred
million annually (Eilperin). This rate of disposal leaves behind piles of unwanted electronic devices
and while many of these devices end up in junk drawers there are many more that end up in landfills
where their toxic metal innards contaminate drinking water and soil. Or, devices are left to go to seed
in some lonely warehouse long since abandoned by its own and there is always the possibility of
devices being exported to poor countries where recycling regulations are lacks. The scope of the
problem is not small as it is estimated that the hazard created by electronic waste threatens over one
hundred million lives worldwide (Wood). To begin to understand why

Colonial American Identity
In Britain s eyes, Colonial America was nothing but another piece of land that earned them money, but
as it began to be acknowledged by other powerful countries for its self sufficient lifestyle, it shaped an
identity, ultimately becoming the strong, independent nation, it is today. However, it was anything but
easy for America to form in the first place. From 1765 to 1783, the American Revolution took place
and was overall, the process used to overthrow the oppressive British and purge them from America.
Britain s establishment of harsh policies concerning many freedoms, political ideologies, and
economic rights obligated the colonists to fight for their independence. The American Colonies
thought that they were ready and able to create a society with the power of unity, supported by
democracy and economic prosperities. The American revolution was eventually instigated by the
identity of American colonists of which evolved through the formation of unity, political, and
economic influences.
It was necessary that the settlements set aside their disparities unite amid the French and Indian War

Social Norms In Society
We live in a society of expectations. These expectations subconsciously shape our mannerisms on a
day to day basis. Stemming from these controlled mannerisms are social norms. Social norms are the
traits that have come to be typical over time because they have been shaped by our surroundings and
our everyday interactions. When a norm is broken, society reacts by entering into shock. In a social
experiment, I tested the reaction of society when I broke a social norm. For my experiment, I violated
a folkway. I went to get my hair cut at my normal salon. This salon is an upscale, boutique blow dry
bar and salon. There were many women in there who were getting their hair done. I have been going
to that salon for years, and have come to know all of the employees and stylists. I had an appointment
with my regular stylist who has cut my hair ever since I was little. I usually always go for a trim of
about an inch and a blow dry after. This time, when my stylist asked me what I wanted, I looked her in
the eye and said, take it all off. I was asking her to shave my head completely. The reaction of the
people in the salon was one of shock. My hairdresser at first, looked at me and laughed as if I was
joking. I then had to say, no really, take it all off. This is when she started to look panicked. She then
began to question me, are you sure that is what you want? Why don t you give yourself some time to
think about it? I reassured her that that was what I really wanted,

Epic Of Beowulf
The Story of Beowulf is the first epic to be written in English language. Originally it had only been
told and recited orally. Until a few hundred years a monk decided to write down the epic. The story of
Beowulf becomes more involved with christian beliefs after it gets written down. The story starts off
with the halls of Herot being filled with the joyous laughs and singing of men. The king, Hrothgar, is
an honorable king and cares deeply for his subordinates. The celebration gets cut short by the monster
Grendel, descendent of Cain, who devours 30 men in their sleep in the halls. Grendel continues this

Conformity In Emerson s Self-Reliance
In the dictionary, conformity is defined as compliance with standards, rules, or laws. . The reason I
believe that conformity is a common element in both Emerson s Self Reliance and Gladwell s Outliers
is because in Self Reliance, Emerson believed that to be self reliant, you must avoid conformity.
Gladwell agrees with this in chapter 8 of Outliers, where he states that we tend to conform to rules
based off of where we are from and how we were raised. This chapter was a perfect example because
of how all those children were raised. As stated previously, a big key factor in Self Reliance was the
concept that Emerson truly didn t want others to follow conformity. He wanted people to remain true
to themselves due to the fact that it follows along with the essence of the Universal Spirit. To believe
your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is
genius (Emerson, 19). After Emerson discusses conformity, he delves into the discussion of innocence
and infants. He discusses this as a nod to nonconformity. Infancy conforms to nobody: all conform to
it, so that the babe commonly makes four or five out of the adults who prattle and play to it (Emerson,
20). In a whole, Emerson s Self Reliance was more or less

How To Understand Gymnastics
Express and Reflect
Everybody knows that feeling when you finally accomplish something that you have been working on

goal. It s all about practicing until you feel confident or when you finally reach where you wanted to
be. You have to just get over the fact that yes, you may fall or not get it on the first try but if you never

practice and loose the feeling and sensation of that trick. So I guess that practice makes perfect applies

Wireless devices, like all technologies that provide external access to corporate networks, present

Because of the great diversity of device capabilities, as well as their inherent security limitations,
MSD cannot provide security for data stored locally across every device. Instead, MSD provides
security for corporate data inside the firewall, by securing it against unauthorized access by wireless
devices.
In particular, MSD provides administrators with the ability to (Cohen, 1991):
· Associate a specific, authorized user with each mobile device ( Trusted Devices ).
· Specify what wireless networks can communicate with MSD ( Trusted IP Addresses ).
Trusted Devices
MSD s Trusted Devices feature enables administrators both to know what employee is authorized to
use each device, and to control the ability of each user or device to access Domino via MSD. For
example, if an employee loses his or her mobile device, an administrator can immediately disable the
use of that device with MSD, thus eliminating the risk that an impostor will access the network.
In addition to Trusted Devices, MSD offers a related security feature called Dynamic Device/User
Mapping. It works like this: the first time a user successfully enters a valid Domino HTTP username

And mostly young people like the high school pupil often have the misconception that 6 divided by 15
is the same as 15 divided by 6. My cousin had the misconception exactly like Benny that Erlwanger
mentioned in his writing (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B
zCt1YBD2VJNFpDOFhyaEsyOG8/view?usp=sha). They often ignore which number is divided by
what. Calculators are also making younger generations mentally handicapped which doesn t allow
them to do a simple calculation without it, they rely more on it rather than trying to solve it
themselves. Consequently, more use of calculators at each and every class is increasing the
misconception of a small number divided by a larger number compared to the other facts I was
considering. Back in the old days, they were not allowed to use calculators at for every calculation
which made them faster at doing it themselves. My cousin took double the time compared to my
father as he was stuck in the division. Although he had done high school math after decades, he still
finished it faster than my cousin as he remembered the steps he had done in school. My cousin had the
misconception that if the denominator is greater than the numerator, it works the same way as it would
work for a smaller denominator. Benny from one of our readings also had the same problem as my
cousin. When he was asked to solve 4/11 and then 11/4. He answered that both would end up having
the same result, ignoring which is bigger: denominator or numerator. Considering the way my cousin
applied his methods for solving the problem of the division, it shows that he lacks the cognitive
structure and its coordination just like Benny. We have discussed in the class that misconceptions are
resistant to change and after the interviews I have realized that it is true. This is because after the

Contamination of Drinking-Water by Arsenic in Bangladesh
Introduction: There are metal substances which have mixed up with the river water of Bangladesh.
The substance is known as Arsenic in Bangladesh. It was first found in the West Bengal ten years ago
(1995 96). Arsenic is both toxic and carcinogenic. It is in inorganic forms, dissolved in drinking water
which is the most significant forms of natural exposure. Organic forms of arsenic that may be present
in food are much less toxic to humans. Clinical manifestations of arsenic poisoning begin with various
forms of skin diseases, which lead to damage of internal organs, ultimately to cancer and death. Cause

Systems using LS may require secondary treatment to meet that goal. Activated Alumina (AA) is
effective in treating water with high total dissolved solids (TDS). However, selenium, fluoride,
chloride, and sulfate, if present at high levels, may compete for adsorption sites. AA is highly selective
towards As(V); and this strong attraction results in regeneration problems, possibly resulting in 5 to 10
percent loss of adsorptive capacity for each run. Application of point of use treatment devices would
need to consider regeneration and replacement. Ion Exchange (IE) can effectively remove arsenic.
However, sulfate, TDS, selenium, fluoride, and nitrate compete with arsenic and can affect run length.
Passage through a series of columns could improve removal and decrease regeneration frequency.
Suspended solids and precipitated iron can cause clogging of the IE bed. Systems containing high

Mercutio s Death In Romeo And Juliet
The tragic romance of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare stages the death of a pair of star
crossed lovers that puts an end to the feud between the two houses. However, there are much more
deaths in the play other than Romeo and Juliet. The destiny of the play together with the clue of many
deaths are both present in the prologue before Act 1, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, where
civil blood makes civil hands unclean. this line suggests to the audience that there will be blood shed
in the play ahead, giving clue to the many deaths. Also, the destiny of the play has also been spelt out
in the prologue, From forth the fatal loins of these two foes a pair of star crossed lovers take their life,
whose misadventured piteous overthrows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Tybalt, the learned swordsman missed had that final thrust simply because Mercutio saw through his
moves, the play would have developed differently. Firstly, it is evident from Act 2, Scene 3 when
Benvolio asked Mercutio about Tybalt, Mercutio replied He fights as you sing prick song, keeps time,
distance, and proportion. He rests his minim rests one, two, and the third in your bosom. , this shows
that Mercutio understands the way trained swordsman fight. As a result, Mercutio has the ability to
walk out of the fight unharmed, and in the twist of fate, Tybalt is instead killed by Mercutio.
Consequently, Mercutio will flee the crime scene as Romeo did in the original play. When Prince
Escalus arrives, it is only natural for him to investigate by asking for the person whom started the
fight, undeniably Tybalt himself was the one whom started the fight, thus, is punishable by death. We
also know that Prince Escalus love Mercutio very much from Act 3, Scene 1 I ll amerce you with so
strong a fine that you shall all repent the loss of mine. Therefore, it is likely for Prince Escalus to put
the blame on the dead Tybalt for starting the fight and by the same argument Montague used in Act 1,
Scene 3 His fault concludes but what the law should end, the life of Tybalt. Thereby announcing the
exile of Mercutio in attempt to save Mercutio s life. However, Romeo in this situation does not face
direct consequence

My New Cyber Security Companies
Are you an angel investor in cyber security companies? Are you currently fund raising for your new
cyber security company? Do you work in venture capital and invest in cyber? If you ve answered yes
to any of these questions then you are are either producing slide decks which are too long or you are
spending time looking at slide decks which are too long. Last year, I switched from being a cyber
security executive to a venture capitalist focusing on early stage cyber companies. I had always been
supportive of the start up community and had done a bunch of angel investing. In 2016 I started
focusing on angel investing full time and in 2017 I launched Gula Tech Adventures which is a fund
focused exclusively on cyber security. Over the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saying that you ve solved cyber security, you increase ROI, .etc isn t enough to get an investor excited
these days. Their next question will be how? or so what? . If your What slide helps you differentiate
from your competition, this makes it easier for an investor to get excited. Honesty and humility also
goes a real long way with investors. Calling out exactly what your advantages are is something a
venture capitalist or investor can work with. SLIDE TWO THE HOW In one slide, describe how you
do your what without giving away any proprietary secrets but conveying your ability and
comprehension of the problem. Many pitch decks I see completely skip the what slide and start with
the how . I see many entrepreneurs dive right into the how as a first introduction to their company.
This can be hard for an investor to figure out exactly why you are doing something or why a customer
would want to spend money with you on your solution. The how slide should answer many of the
basic questions without being evasive. Questions that need to be answered include: Cloud or on prem.
Which components are cloud? Don t say artificial intelligence or machine learning. Instead be specific
where you algorithms run on which data and how they manifest in the customer. Agents or no agents?
How is it deployed? If you parse logs, which vendors are supported? If you have open source or
commercial components, call them out. If it is a cloud solution, does

Athletes Should Have Rights Persuasive Speech
The year 2016 had so many tragedies that happened in many states, having some events to not be
forgotten about. Wither its shootings, taking innocent lives, and rights being pushed away. However,
there comes to a point where we need someone to look upon and to take a stand for what the people
believe what s wrong and what s right. Where as sports is all universal language for everyone, it gives
a chance for athletes to speak and to protest their way onto showing, that they too are seeing what we
are seeing. But, it seems that athletes are having a rough time speaking and presenting what s on their
mind to the world. Having to be punished for what they protest for, but in the end, we all have rights
and we all have our opinions speaking about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will still have the motivation to keep pulling forward to get their word across. So, for those who
are against athletes who protest shouldn t be for the most part, since you saw the examples and onto
the outcomes. Equivalent on how Ali changed the outcome for others to fight against the Vietnam War
and how the St. Louis Cardinals showed an example on how they resolved their condition. It all
expresses beneficial actions that can be followed as an example of a person putting their foot down to
fight the nonsense. So, give them the right to protest with no criticism or punishment because they had
the strength and heart to do this in front of millions of people who are in the stands also those who are
watching. Give them their voice to show others and to not be taken away. They are just like everyone
else, but are trying hardest to fight, argue, and find peace among one

Ethropoietic Porphyria Research Paper
Erythropoietic Protoporphyria better known as EPP, comes from a type of porphyria; a group of rare
inherited or acquired disorders of certain enzymes that usually aid in the production of porphyrins and
heme. This disease is a hereditary metabolic disorder of porphyrin metabolism, then resulting an
enzyme deficiency, particularly the enzyme: ferrochelatase. This deficiency causes unusually high
levels of protoporphyrin; a biochemical compound needed for the body. Everyone has two genes for
ferrochelatase in each cell in their body (one inherited from their mother and one from their father). In
over 90% of families, EPP comes from the affected individuals inheriting a gene for a severely under
active ferrochelatase enzyme from one parent, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Symptoms usually include skin lesions paired with pain described as a burning sensation, along with
itchiness and prickling sensations as well. One common symptom is very painful photosensitivity.
This then manifests itself as a burning and itching sensation on the epidermal layer of the skin. At
certain times, the itching sensations are completely unbearable. Rubbing the itchy spots with ice can
be the only relief, and the relief only lasts for a short period of time. Regular anti itch remedies,
including cortisone anti histamine topical preparations, and Calamine lotion generally provide little to
no relief. Even exposal to surgical lights can trigger this itchy reaction. Prolonged exposure to the sun
can lead to oedema of the hands, face (sometimes occurring on the lips), and feet; which rarely leads
to blistering and petechiae (small red or purple spots appearing on the skin either in particular areas or
widespread throughout the surface of the body). Also, skin thickening may occur, depending on the
severity of EPP in the specific patient. When a person has EPP, their skin may appear red, dry and
scaly. It looks as though the skin is raw but dry at the same time. The skin may also be scabbed

Orchestra Concert Report Sample
On December 2nd, 2017, I attended a concert performed by the Diablo Valley College Philharmonic
Orchestra. The concert, performed at the Diablo Valley College Performing Arts Center, was called A
Classical British Invasion and it featured pieces that were either written by British people or were
inspired by them. Since I have only listened to professional orchestras for previous concert reports, I
decided to attend a college orchestra, hoping to see the differences between a professional orchestra
and a more casual one. The first piece performed in this concert was Norfolk Scenic Overture
composed by Kenneth Ian Hytch. The piece started loudly and dramatically and it ended in a similar
fashion. A quick rhythm carried on throughout the piece. The piece was mostly polyphonic, with the
woodwinds, the strings, and the brasses playing different melodies. There were a lot of things that the
orchestra can improve on. First of all, the orchestra was rushing in several places dragging in other
places. Another problem was the balance between instruments. When the ... Show more content on

Allegretto, composed by Sir Karl Jenkins. Having played this piece in my freshman year, I was really
excited to hear how the orchestra would express this piece. This piece only consists of string
instruments, and the violins played the melody while the rest of the orchestra played 8th or 16th notes
to accompany it through most of this piece. The tempo of this piece is slower than the first one, and it
has a intense and scary feel until the end, where it gets faster and louder. There were a few noticeable
problems in this piece. For example, the violins were rushing the 16th notes. The cellos had some
intonation problems and so did the violins. The orchestra did not end together, as a few people played
the last note a bit too long. Nevertheless, the balance was good and the crescendo was decent towards
the end, which really brought out the intense feel of the

Night Of The Broken Glass Analysis
The Night of the Broken Glass Examined
A young child cried because angry men destroy his home, a rabbi prayed as his synagogue burns,
others hid in fear of physical harm, still, others watched in horror as soldiers arrested Jewish men in
droves and hauled them off. An average winter night developed into a nightmare that would begin a
journey of hatred and death the likes of which the world had never seen before. An analysis of the life
of the Jews before the Kristallnacht, or Night of the Broken Glass, the night itself and the aftermath
reveals that this single event changed the course of the Jewish existence and was a considerable step to
the beginning of the Holocaust.
The Jews in Germany had lived in a rather idyllic world previous to 1933. The Jews owned
businesses, went to school, freely worshiped in synagogues, spoke Yiddish (which is a combination of
German and Hebrew), they attended Yiddish movies and theaters, some dressed traditionally while the
younger generation was beginning to wear more modern attire. The Jews in most of the western
European countries adapted to and developed some of their non Jewish neighbors ways. The Jews
held occupations, in all walks of life, enabling some to become part of the middle class or even
wealthy. The Jews were citizens of Germany and therefore afforded the same benefits as any other
group of citizens at the time . A young man, Peter Gay, best accounts his life during the pre Nazi rise
in his book called, My German

  • 2. How We Are Affected by People s Views of Nature How people s views of nature have changed over time in the United States of America and how it has affected us is a great question. Looking back through history makes it simple to answer this question. People have very different opinions on to what their answer would be. Reading Out of the Woods edited by Char Miller and Hal Rothman, Dust Bowl: The Southern Plains in the 1930s by Donald Worstter, Nature s Metropolis: Chicago and the Great West by William Cronon, The Ecological Indian by Shepard Krech III, and Something s Rising: Appalachians Fighting Mountaintop Removal by Silas House makes it easy to comprehend and to answer how our views of nature have changed. Looking all the way back to the early Indians, Shepard Krech III, the author of The Ecological Indian, the Indians were not the one with nature individuals you thought they were. Most people that first think of the Indians were one with nature because of movies and old folk tales. They were reckless and took advantage of their environment. They used more resources than they clearly needed. The Indians would waste their animals that they hunted. They caused many problems with the ecosystem involving plants and animals triggered for the use of fire. They involved fire to clear the undergrowth of the forest. Their reasoning to do this was because it made travel significantly easier, it made a better area to hunt, and they used it as protection. Many individuals believed that the Indians were committing a sin by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At that time, the United States had what was said to have a monopoly of atomic bombs. Soon thereafter, the Soviet Union began working on atomic weaponry. In 1949, it had already detonated it first atomic bomb and tensions began to heat up between the two countries. President Kennedy came to office with warnings of a missile gap. The Soviets had achieved or were achieving a significant advantage in strategic nuclear weapons. Though tensions ran even higher, Eisenhower s strategy of massive retaliation made little sense and did not account for the rapidly growing Soviet nuclear arsenal4. Kennedy s nuclear strategy became known as flexible response. The idea was to acquire the military forces that could deal flexibility with varying levels of Soviet Aggression3. The most serious confrontation between Russia and the US was the Cuban Missile Crisis. (Link to Stephanie s page) Soviet leader Khrushchev attempted to place intermediate range missiles in Cuba. Kennedy responded by imposing a quarantine on Cuba. This resulted in the removal of the Soviet missiles and led to Kennedy making the decision to dismantle U.S. missiles based in Turkey. Some analysts argue that the successful outcome was due to the United States nuclear superiority, which proved that strategic superiority offered important political advantages5. Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara later concluded, after Kennedy s death, that the only way to defend our boundaries from a nuclear attack is to counterattack with equal nuclear force. ... • 10. The Last Boss Of New York The Last Boss of New York It was beautiful day with a slight breeze that cooled you each time it passed. My father, Tony Di Marco and I, were taking a stroll around the gardens of our family s compound in Staten Island, in New York City. My father wearing his usual black tuxedo dinner jacket with the buttons open and Boutonnière with a red rose, underneath was his black waistcoat with the button closed, underneath that was his white Shirt and topped off with a black bow tie. His hair was combed back as far as possible it was short and coloured black with sort off grey streaks which showed his age. He was built like a house, with his broad shoulders, his body was big and powerful looking but no wonder because after all he did like the rich food and always had a glass of wine to wash it down. Facially the feature most remembered after first glance was his cheeks, they sagged down to about his jaw line, this made his accent powerful as every time he spoke it sounded like he was questioning what you had said. He had a moustache and it was the length of his top lip, it was as if it was somebody s eyebrow it was that thin. He walked with grace and power as if he was untouchable. We walked to the gates and decide to take the stroll further. He told the security guard who was manning the gates to Open the gates he then slipped the guard a $20 dollars. • 12. The Second Epoch ( 1980 ) The Second Epoch (1980 2000s) In the second epoch, the emphasis shifted from regulations to coordinating the objectives of the environment with other social and economic priorities, with more attention to human health effects, and to carrying out the environmental policies that were on books, more resourcefully. In a couple of instances, new goals were formed which went beyond the former goals, for example, including dangerous materials and hazardous waste to the environmental policy agenda, the additionally demanding provisions of the Clean Air Act of 1990, and the more prominent acknowledgment of the international and worldwide implications of pollution. However, the pace of enactment and the coverage of sources of pollution which were newly identified slowed considerably in comparison with the first epoch. What changed most particularly was confidence in the philosophy of regulation and firm control by the government.4 It turned out to be clear that legislation alone, could neither direct nor police all organizations and groups all over the country, nor could it bear all the obligation regarding empowering creative reactions to environmental issues. This was not just a response to the growing involvement of the government. Underlying the second epoch was the acknowledgment that considerable advancement had been accomplished in lessening harmful environmental discharges and upgrading protection of resources, in policy if not generally in deed. • 13. Piaget Of Piaget s Sensorimotor Stage Essay Vignette I This behavior can be explained by Piaget s sensorimotor stage. Piaget discovered that from the time they are born until they reach about the age of two, children experience the world through their senses (Myers, 2010, p. 181). Infants, up until about 8 months, also are also extremely focused on the present and have not yet developed a sense of object permanence, which can lead to the out of sight, out of mind mindset (Myers, 2010, p. 181). This is evident in the situation at hand, in which a young child does not recognize a relative seen only months earlier. The child most likely had not yet developed a sense of object permanence the last time the relative visited, and was quickly forgotten. Therefore, when the relative was seen by the child after it had begun to remember that things out of sight did not cease to exist, the child must have developed stranger anxiety from not seeing the relative. A constructive solution to this situation would be for the relative to simply visit more often. This would allow the child to get familiar towards the relative, and also help to become increasingly attached to the relative (Myers, 2010, p. 190). The child would then no longer fear its well meaning relative. Not to mention, the relative would cease to worry that the young child is being spoiled. Vignette II Vignette two can be explained by Piaget s preoperational stage. This accounts for children 2 to about 6, and is characterized by using intuitive logic. (Myers, ... • 15. Film Analysis Of Will Leitch s Sausage Party In recent discussions of the movie Sausage Party, a controversial issue had been brought up over the film s comedic styles and overall theme. On one hand, some argue that the unique comedic choices the film employs are what makes the film hilarious. From this perspective, Will Leitch, a film critic from the New Republic, finds many of the comedic styles funny. On the other hand, others argue that the comedy is rather juvenile and offensive. In the words of Andrew O Hehir, one of this view s main critic, the film is a juvenile, sex obsessed cartoon. In sum, then, the issue is whether the comedic styles of this film adds to or subtracts from this film. My own view is that this film was overall hilarious and deeply philosophical. Though I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the fact that their creators are known for their lifestyles, it shouldn t deny the fact that the film did a wonderful job satirizing Pixar style films. The movie in many scenes portray the characters as artistically appealing but there lies in the joke within their relation to humans, the cute food are meant to be ruthlessly prepared and eaten by the humans. In the scene where the food were taken out of their packages expecting eternal joy, they were met instead with knives cutting them up and hot water boiling them to death. The screams and horrors of the food that was smiling just right before serves as the main punchline as the reality behind inanimate objects and humans. Contrasting with pixar style films where they show a glorified adventure without the cruel reality these object really face. With that being said, there is merit in Andrew s argument due to the insane amount of juvenile jokes within the story through the usage jokes, stereotypes and a sex scene between food at the end. Despite this, I fully believe that this movie had value because of the satire and revelation within the movie. On the contentious topic of comedy, Leitch believes that the overuse of stereotypes eventually makes the movie funny, Hehir feels that it s simply a way to cover up the pointlessness of the story. A defining feature of Sausage Party would be the amount of jokes jam packed in a short amount of time. Humor ranging from insensitive stereotypes to food puns ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Role playing games (MMORPGs) are a popular subcategory which lets gamers take on a new character, created for the digital world, to play the game. Three of the top five bestselling computer games in the US in 2014 were MMORPGs, and three of them were from the fantasy genre: Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, The Elder Scrolls Online, and World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor expansion pack. (Entertainment Software Association, 2015, p.11) World of Warcraft was the most played MMORPG, with more than 12 million active players and over 100 million accounts. While playing MMORPGs players are exposed to Racism and Stereotyping from the game itself down to the gamers playing the game. • 17. The Post War Period Of Italy The post war period in Italy represents a time of cultural, economic and political instability, as the nation tried to re create the social bonds broken by the war and attempted to understand, and take advantage of, the effects of mass industrialisation and urbanisation thanks to the economic miracle . It was during this time from 1945 to 1960, with the people increasingly disenchanted with the ability of the camera to truly portray the turmoil of recent history, that a new form of popular, neorealist cinema emerged to reflect social reality and expand the viewer s moral, cultural and geographic perspectives . This instability and new cinematographic outlook was the backdrop for two pertinent Italian films: Rossellini s Roma Città Aperta, an authentic depiction of the daily lives of Italians in Nazi occupied Rome, and Visconti s Rocco e i Suoi Fratelli, the journey of one Southern Italian family as they migrate to the North during the economic boom in search of prosperity. For both of these films, the ideas of resistance and struggle are two closely linked themes which play an integral part in the portrayal of this period of Italian history. In order to gain a more insightful understanding of how each of these are conveyed in Roma Città Aperta and Rocco e i Suoi Fratelli, it is beneficial to analyse these films with reference to two sub themes: resistance to oppression and economic struggle. This approach will make evident the comparisons between the two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Soon humans would come along and carry on the practice of surviving and thriving this ancient way. Both hunting and fishing are skills that are still used today, but are not used so much as to survive but as a sport. What are the similarities and differences between hunting? Well for those of the readers that have not participated in either events or do engage but have never wondered about this question, hopefully this essay will answer all of your questions about the similarity and differences between hunting and fishing. To be prosperous in both hunting and fishing one must be able to determine the location of the animal you are stalking. While hunting may be easier to track the animal, fish can only move so much because they are stuck in a body of water. Both deer and bass prefer to stick in cover of bushes and fallen trees. Both bass and deer ¨bed during the day; however bass like deer will occasionally move in daylight. Deer can arguably be easier to find because of new technologies like scopes and rifles that can shoot at long ranges, but while bass fishing you are most of the time on a craft which is sitting on top of the water giving you an advantage of being able to see through the it to see the fish swimming. There is also new technology that uses sonar to map the bottom of the body of water and it can track fish movement. Both hunting and fishing require one to be able to read and ... Japanese autodidact modernist architect Tadao Ando, explores the intimate relationship between transparent logic, abstraction, nature and place through the study of material and form and the interaction between the everyday human life and it s surrounding in his architecture. • 22. Archetypes In The Hero, The Mentor, And The Shadow In The Hobbit, there are a variety of characters that play vital roles in the story. While this novel is filled with many diverse characters, some have specific roles to play. These can be categorized into archetypes. Archetypes describe the functions that people or items play in a story. Seven of these archetypes exist, and three of them stand out in The Hobbit. The Hero, The Mentor, and The Shadow are necessary archetypes that can be found in The Hobbit, and three characters fit these roles perfectly. First of all, the archetype, The Hero, is represented by Bilbo Baggins, and for this archetype, they sacrifice themself for the service of the journey. They grow and learn during this time. • 34. Conformity In Emerson s Self-Reliance In the dictionary, conformity is defined as compliance with standards, rules, or laws. . The reason I believe that conformity is a common element in both Emerson s Self Reliance and Gladwell s Outliers is because in Self Reliance, Emerson believed that to be self reliant, you must avoid conformity. Gladwell agrees with this in chapter 8 of Outliers, where he states that we tend to conform to rules based off of where we are from and how we were raised. This chapter was a perfect example because of how all those children were raised. As stated previously, a big key factor in Self Reliance was the concept that Emerson truly didn t want others to follow conformity. He wanted people to remain true to themselves due to the fact that it follows along with the essence of the Universal Spirit. To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius (Emerson, 19). After Emerson discusses conformity, he delves into the discussion of innocence and infants. He discusses this as a nod to nonconformity. Infancy conforms to nobody: all conform to it, so that the babe commonly makes four or five out of the adults who prattle and play to it (Emerson, 20). My cousin had the misconception exactly like Benny that Erlwanger mentioned in his writing (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B zCt1YBD2VJNFpDOFhyaEsyOG8/view?usp=sha). They often ignore which number is divided by what. Calculators are also making younger generations mentally handicapped which doesn t allow them to do a simple calculation without it, they rely more on it rather than trying to solve it themselves. Consequently, more use of calculators at each and every class is increasing the misconception of a small number divided by a larger number compared to the other facts I was considering. Back in the old days, they were not allowed to use calculators at for every calculation which made them faster at doing it themselves. My cousin took double the time compared to my father as he was stuck in the division. Although he had done high school math after decades, he still finished it faster than my cousin as he remembered the steps he had done in school. My cousin had the misconception that if the denominator is greater than the numerator, it works the same way as it would work for a smaller denominator. Benny from one of our readings also had the same problem as my cousin. When he was asked to solve 4/11 and then 11/4. He answered that both would end up having the same result, ignoring which is bigger: denominator or numerator. Considering the way my cousin applied his methods for solving the problem of the division, it shows that he lacks the cognitive structure and its coordination just like Benny. We have discussed in the class that misconceptions are resistant to change and after the interviews I have realized that it is true. This is because after the interview was done, my cousin still had the misconception that 15/6 gives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Contamination of Drinking-Water by Arsenic in Bangladesh Introduction: There are metal substances which have mixed up with the river water of Bangladesh. The substance is known as Arsenic in Bangladesh. It was first found in the West Bengal ten years ago (1995 96). Arsenic is both toxic and carcinogenic. It is in inorganic forms, dissolved in drinking water which is the most significant forms of natural exposure. Organic forms of arsenic that may be present in food are much less toxic to humans. Clinical manifestations of arsenic poisoning begin with various forms of skin diseases, which lead to damage of internal organs, ultimately to cancer and death. Cause of Arsenic: This toxic element is found in tub well water. People are affected by it only when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Systems using LS may require secondary treatment to meet that goal. Activated Alumina (AA) is effective in treating water with high total dissolved solids (TDS). However, selenium, fluoride, chloride, and sulfate, if present at high levels, may compete for adsorption sites. AA is highly selective towards As(V); and this strong attraction results in regeneration problems, possibly resulting in 5 to 10 percent loss of adsorptive capacity for each run. Application of point of use treatment devices would need to consider regeneration and replacement. Systems containing high levels of these constituents may require pretreatment. Reverse Osmosis (RO) provided removal efficiencies of greater than 95 percent when operating pressure is at ideal psi. If RO is used by small systems in the western U. S. , 60% water recovery will lead to an increased need for raw water. The water recovery is the volume of water produced by the process divided by the influent stream (product water/influent stream). Discharge of reject water or brine may also be a concern. If RO is used by small systems in the western U. S. , water ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mercutio s Death In Romeo And Juliet The tragic romance of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare stages the death of a pair of star crossed lovers that puts an end to the feud between the two houses. However, there are much more deaths in the play other than Romeo and Juliet. The destiny of the play together with the clue of many deaths are both present in the prologue before Act 1, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. this line suggests to the audience that there will be blood shed in the play ahead, giving clue to the many deaths. Firstly, it is evident from Act 2, Scene 3 when Benvolio asked Mercutio about Tybalt, Mercutio replied He fights as you sing prick song, keeps time, distance, and proportion. He rests his minim rests one, two, and the third in your bosom. , this shows that Mercutio understands the way trained swordsman fight. As a result, Mercutio has the ability to walk out of the fight unharmed, and in the twist of fate, Tybalt is instead killed by Mercutio. Consequently, Mercutio will flee the crime scene as Romeo did in the original play. When Prince Escalus arrives, it is only natural for him to investigate by asking for the person whom started the fight, undeniably Tybalt himself was the one whom started the fight, thus, is punishable by death. We also know that Prince Escalus love Mercutio very much from Act 3, Scene 1 I ll amerce you with so strong a fine that you shall all repent the loss of mine. Ethropoietic Porphyria Research Paper Erythropoietic Protoporphyria better known as EPP, comes from a type of porphyria; a group of rare inherited or acquired disorders of certain enzymes that usually aid in the production of porphyrins and heme. This disease is a hereditary metabolic disorder of porphyrin metabolism, then resulting an enzyme deficiency, particularly the enzyme: ferrochelatase. This deficiency causes unusually high levels of protoporphyrin; a biochemical compound needed for the body. Symptoms usually include skin lesions paired with pain described as a burning sensation, along with itchiness and prickling sensations as well. One common symptom is very painful photosensitivity. This then manifests itself as a burning and itching sensation on the epidermal layer of the skin. At certain times, the itching sensations are completely unbearable. Rubbing the itchy spots with ice can be the only relief, and the relief only lasts for a short period of time. Regular anti itch remedies, including cortisone anti histamine topical preparations, and Calamine lotion generally provide little to no relief. Even exposal to surgical lights can trigger this itchy reaction. Prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to oedema of the hands, face (sometimes occurring on the lips), and feet; which rarely leads to blistering and petechiae (small red or purple spots appearing on the skin either in particular areas or widespread throughout the surface of the body). • 45. Orchestra Concert Report Sample On December 2nd, 2017, I attended a concert performed by the Diablo Valley College Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert, performed at the Diablo Valley College Performing Arts Center, was called A Classical British Invasion and it featured pieces that were either written by British people or were inspired by them. Since I have only listened to professional orchestras for previous concert reports, I decided to attend a college orchestra, hoping to see the differences between a professional orchestra and a more casual one. The first piece performed in this concert was Norfolk Scenic Overture composed by Kenneth Ian Hytch. The piece started loudly and dramatically and it ended in a similar fashion. A quick rhythm carried on throughout the piece. The piece was mostly polyphonic, with the woodwinds, the strings, and the brasses playing different melodies. There were a lot of things that the orchestra can improve on. First of all, the orchestra was rushing in several places dragging in other places. Another problem was the balance between instruments. Having played this piece in my freshman year, I was really excited to hear how the orchestra would express this piece. This piece only consists of string instruments, and the violins played the melody while the rest of the orchestra played 8th or 16th notes to accompany it through most of this piece. The tempo of this piece is slower than the first one, and it has a intense and scary feel until the end, where it gets faster and louder. There were a few noticeable problems in this piece. For example, the violins were rushing the 16th notes. The cellos had some intonation problems and so did the violins. The orchestra did not end together, as a few people played the last note a bit too long. Nevertheless, the balance was good and the crescendo was decent towards the end, which really brought out the intense feel of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Night Of The Broken Glass Analysis The Night of the Broken Glass Examined A young child cried because angry men destroy his home, a rabbi prayed as his synagogue burns, others hid in fear of physical harm, still, others watched in horror as soldiers arrested Jewish men in droves and hauled them off. An average winter night developed into a nightmare that would begin a journey of hatred and death the likes of which the world had never seen before. An analysis of the life of the Jews before the Kristallnacht, or Night of the Broken Glass, the night itself and the aftermath reveals that this single event changed the course of the Jewish existence and was a considerable step to the beginning of the Holocaust. The Jews in Germany had lived in a rather idyllic world previous to 1933. The Jews owned businesses, went to school, freely worshiped in synagogues, spoke Yiddish (which is a combination of German and Hebrew), they attended Yiddish movies and theaters, some dressed traditionally while the younger generation was beginning to wear more modern attire. The Jews in most of the western European countries adapted to and developed some of their non Jewish neighbors ways. The Jews held occupations, in all walks of life, enabling some to become part of the middle class or even wealthy. The Jews were citizens of Germany and therefore afforded the same benefits as any other group of citizens at the time .
