2. Suffixes
 -plegia : paralysis
 Example: Quadraplegia
 -cele : protrusion
 Example: Meningocele

3. Quadraplegia or Tetraplagia
 The paralysis of both arms and legs
 Caused from spinal injury, cerebral palsy, or stroke
 Occurs when neck area of the spinal cord is injured
 Patients with complete quadriplegia have no ability to move anything below
the neck, sometimes are unable to move neck aswell
 Complications: loss of bladder and bowl control, pressure sores, blood clots,
respiratory problems, autonomic dysreflexia, and spatic muscles

4. Meningocele
 Is a form of spina bifida
 Congenital malformation from developmental problems of the central nervous
system
 It’s an out-pouching of spinal cord coverings resulting in defect in bone, soft
tissue, arachnoid membrane, and dura mater
 Most common in lumbar spine
 Bulging sac on lumber spine of infants
 There’s no significant neurological symptoms
