There are two main types of nasal polyps - antrochoanal and ethmoidal. Antrochoanal polyps arise from the maxillary sinus and grow into the nasal cavity towards the nasopharynx, while ethmoidal polyps arise from the ethmoid sinuses and are usually multiple and bilateral. Nasal polyps are often caused by infection, allergy or vasomotor factors. Treatment involves nasal decongestants, steroids, antibiotics or surgical polypectomy/ethmoidectomy depending on the type and severity. A deviated nasal septum is caused by trauma or developmental issues and can block the nose and cause headaches. Investigation involves nasal examination and imaging, while treatment involves surgical procedures like
Any deviation in the normal nasal septum is called DNS (Deviated Nasal Septum).
Deviated Nasal Septum may be caused by mechanical trauma and may be
associated with some developmental defects.
Nasal Polyps are defined as pale, polypoidal, pedunculated , prolapsed sinus mucosa into the nose.
They cause nasal obstruction. Nasal allergy and infecions are proposed to be the most common etiological factors for nasal polyps.
This presentation explains in detail about every aspect of nasal polyps.

Nasal polyps are soft, painless, noncancerous growths on the lining of your nasal passages or sinuses. They hang down like teardrops or grapes. They result from chronic inflammation and are associated with asthma, recurring infection, allergies, drug sensitivity or certain immune disorders.
Inflammation of the mucosa of sinuses associated with inflammation of the nasal mucosa is called rhinosinusitis (RS).
CLASSIFICATION:
• Acute RS: Symptoms lasting for less than 4 weeks with complete resolution.
• Subacute RS: Duration 4-12 weeks.
• Chronic RS: Duration ~ 12 weeks.
• Recurrent RS: Four or more episodes of RS per year; each lasting for 7-10 days or more with complete resolution in between the episodes.
• Nasal obstruction.
• Nasal discharge/congestion, anterior, or posterior in the form of postnasal drip.
• Facial pain or pressure.
• Alteration in the sense of smell, hyposmia or anosmia.
• Other symptoms include cough, fever, halitosis, fatigue, dental pain, pharyngitis, headache or ear fullness.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2. There are two types of nasal polyp
Antrochoanal
Ethmoidal
3.
4. Antrochoanal type
It arises from the maxillary antrum and grows backwards in to
nose towards the choana and nasal cavity riches the nasopharynx .
5. Ethmoidal
They are multiple bilateral and arises from numerous ethmoidal
sinuses.
It is very commonly found
6. Etiology
ANTROCHOANAL POLYP-
Exact cause is not known.
AGE: usually it occurs in children and young adults.
NUMBER: usually it is single.
INFECTION and ALLERGY may result in ANTROCHOANAl
POLYP.
7. ETHMOIDAL POLYP
AGE; ethmoidal polyps occurs at any age
SEX: both sexes are equally affected
PREDISPOSING FACTOTRS:
Allergy
Vasomotor
Infection
Mixed infection
8. Polysaccharide changes
Bernouillis phenomenon: when air passes
through a narrow area in the nose negativre
pressure develops in the viscinity in the
paranasal sinuses leading to increased formation
of tissue fluids this may encourage polyp
formation.
9. Asthma can be associated with ethmoidal polyp.
Aspirin sensitivity
11. Pharyngeal part :enters the naso pharynx through choana.
ETHMOIDAL POLYP:
Arised from mucosa ethmoidal sinuses and hang down in the nasal
cavity .
18. Signs
External nose: Frog like appearance “BROAD NOSE”
Anterior rhinos copy:
antrochonal :rarely visible
Ethmoidal:multiple like n bunch of grapes
Posterior rhinoscopty
Antrochoanal :large visible like pear shaped
Ethmoidal :fairly visible and grow slowly
19.
20. Investigation
Nasal secretion : culture and sensitivity test
Radiography test of nose and sinuses.
Ct scan of nose and par nasal sinuses.
Biopsy of polyp
