The Importance Of The Bill Of Lading And Freight Bill
In transportation logistics what is importance/interplay of the BILL OF LADING AND FREIGHT
BILL? (10)
In transportation logistics Bills of lading are official or certified documents, which could be
admissible in a court. They name items to be transported during a freight shipment. The bills of
lading are issued by the shipping company, those hauling your material, or a third party logistics
company. The bills of Lading should include descriptions of every item, weight, and value being
shipped. These bills represent the agreement between the shipper and the logistics provider on
where the freight will be transported, where the freight will be collected, and when the freight will
show up at its destination. Furthermore, it can function as the title to the goods described for
shipping for situations involving official descriptions of loan collateral. The bill makes the service
level agreement clearly stated and documented as a agreed upon freight company and customer
commitment. A company must prudently attempt to met obligations, or this bill will showcase a
fault or flaw in service. Both customers and freight companies want to ensure these bills are
accurate and reliable for dispute purposes since they can avoid or alleviate issues. Freight bills do
not serve as key evidence in disputes, they can include additional charges besides what is on the
bills of lading including stipulations that clarify the information on the bill of lading document.

Hitler and the Nazi Party s Total Control Over the Lives of German People from 1933 1945
In Germany, they came first for the Communists, and I didn t speak up because I wasn t a
Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn t speak up because I wasn t a Jew. Then
they came for the trade unionists, and I didn t speak up because I wasn t a trade unionist. Then
they came for the Catholics, and I didn t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for
me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.

was suggested by the few attempts of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Enabling Act permanently suspended all individual rights and legal limits, resulting in a
totalitarian dictatorship. The balance of the three arms of power; executive, legislative and
judicial were not balanced. Hitler had the power to make law, and he enforced it. If there was no
law, Hitler would make it law. There was no check and balance. It was a totalitarian state;
controlled by Hitler and the Nazis. Union leaders2, critical thinkers, intellectuals and the Jews were
some of those to be hit the hardest... with thousands3 sent to detention camps. After the Night of
Long Knives 4, Hitler fashioned a new enforcement arm: the S.S the Gestapo5. The Gestapo also
assassinated those viewed as disloyal to Hitler. With no legal rights, the people of Germany in
effect were under the complete control of Hitler.
The Propaganda Agenda
The term Propaganda is associated with attempting to influence the masses through means of
information, ideas, communication: publications, education, arts, media and products of popular
culture these were all to be controlled by the state6. Propaganda gained the Nazis and Hitler the
support of the masses. Large rallies were held to spread the message of the Party.

Athletic Performance Observation
While trying to figure out the topic of which I wanted to argue about, I couldn t help but gravitate
towards a topic that dealt with nutrition. I finally settled on the topic of, The Importance of
Nutrition and Athletic performance. I immediately was very interested in this topic because I could
relate so well to it, being a nutritionmajor and a college athlete, and I had so many ideas on
different sources of research. However, one day in class we read allowed our topics and our
peers were allowed to comment and throw out different ideas or opinions. When I read mine, there
were two girls who played soccer who shot my idea down and made the argument that every athlete
is different and has different eating rituals before a game or performance

The Real World-Personal Narrative
The Real World
Gunnar Thompson, 650 word, Growing Up One of the biggest turning points in my life was
when I got my first job. I wasn t even old enough to drive yet when I was first hired at the
Middletown Sportsmen s Club. I remember the anxiety and excitement that came along with it.
I was so scared that I would mess something up when I first started and I remember my dad
saying to me don t worry about because everyone makes mistakes especially when they are doing
something that is new to them. This was one of my first responsibility that takes place in the
adult world. I developed many new skills that I would ve never known it wasn t for this job. I
learned to handle myself in a polite manner in front of adults and I also learned about work
equipment such as how to run a tractor and a bobcat. Getting this job was very life changing for
me. I found that after working for several months I was starting to get more mature and
responsible. One of the most important thing I learned at this job was social skills. I ve always
thought that school wasn t enough to teach me social skills because I was always around people
of my own age. Here I was always around adults and in turn this taught me how to handle myself
in front of adults and strangers. For my whole life I was shy and wasn t able to carry a flowing

This job made me grow up, I couldn t work there and still act like a kid. This job was where I
finally reached maturity. I learned a lot about social skills that will serve me in my college career
and for the rest of my life. I learned about equipment that may help me in future jobs and for just
basic responsibilities. I was also introduced into my favorite hobby. A hobby that will help me
pay for college and maybe that will turn into a professional career. Honestly, I don t know how my

Negative Consequences Of The Dust Bowl
I ve seen very often that some people seem to think their actions won t have any negative
consequences, or effect on anything around them. This can lead them to make decisions that have
can create major consequences for others and themselves, all for personal gain. This idea was
widely acted upon in the 1920 s, where so many people had not known that their actions would lead
to, creating The Great Depression. One of the more important Consequences was called the Dust
Bowl. The Dust Bowl was an event caused by the rise of farming in the 1920 s, which continues
to affect the way we grow our crops to this very day. The Dust Bowl was known as a large
section of the US that was covered in a large amount of powerful dust storms, which was caused
by over excessive farming during the 1920 s. Like many things during the time period, farming
had started to become more and more profitable. In fact, farming had been getting more
profitable since WW1. However, this caused people to become greedy. People would farm more
and more land each year, in an effort to produce better results. Farmers plowed away at field after
field, unaware that anything negative would occur from it. As said in the article The Dust Bowl
on USHistory.com, What was unknown to these early pioneers was that the grass and trees of the
plains essentially nourished and held the soil in place with their tough roots, (3). So when farmers
would plow the land, they were disturbing what was keeping all the land in

Enkidu As A Hero In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu helps act as a catalyst for the transformation of Gilgamesh s
character from an undefeatable god like brute into a complex thinker. In the eyes of Gilgamesh, he
is unstoppable and is willing to challenge death itself so long as he is remembered as a hero by his
subjects. With Enkidus help, Gilgamesh learns to become a better person as a ruler, not as a better
warrior. Although not blood related, Enkidu was like a brother to Gilgamesh and the duo shared an
inseparable bond. Throughout the epic, Enkidu teaches Gilgamesh that he is not unstoppable, being
stubborn will not stop him from dying, and that there are no easy solutions to life.
At the beginning of the epic, before Enkidu is introduced, Gilgamesh is described by the narrator
as godly and fit for Uruk s throne by default. These descriptions are vital in order to interpret how
the villagers feel and also to perceive just how mighty Enkidu has to be in order to rival
Gilgamesh. Supreme over other kings, lordly in appearance, /he is the hero, born of Uruk, the
goring wild bull. /He walks out in front, the leader, / (1. 27 29). The narrator speaks extremely
fondly to emphasize just how mighty the main character is and that no other men in any of the
nearby regions seem to come close when the level of their manliness is compared to that of
Gilgamesh. The use of the words Supreme and Lordly indicate that in Gilgamesh s point of view,
he is doing an excellent job of reigning over his

Barbara Ehrenreich Serving In Florida Rhetorical Analysis
Title
Introduction Paragraph
In Barbara Ehrenreich s essay Serving in Florida, derived from Ehrenreich s book Nickel and
Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America, the author conveys through a undercover experiences of
working low wage jobs in Florida, that minimum wage jobs are harsh working conditions and lead
to uncomfortable and a unpleasant way of living. Her essay also helps to reveal that the conditions
that minimum wage jobs create, is the thin line between bearly having somewhere to live and
being completely homeless. This will be proven by not only her experience, but also supported by
primary/secondary sources.

DALLAS, TEXAS. Dallas is on the Trinity River in the center of Dallas County in North
Central Texas. It is crossed by Interstate highways 20, 30, 35, and 45. The city was founded by
John Neely Bryan, who settled on the east bank of the Trinity near a natural ford in November
1841. Bryan had picked the best spot for a trading post to serve the population migrating into the
region. The ford, at the intersection of two major Indian traces, provided the only good crossing
point for miles. Two highways proposed by the Republic of Texassoon converged nearby. Unknown
to Bryan, however, he had settled on land granted by the republic to the Texan Land and
Emigration Company of St. Louis, headed by William S. Peters. Bryan eventually legalized his...

With the breakup of the nearby La RГ©union colony in the late 1850s, skilled European craftsmen
and artists moved into Dallas, including brickmakers, cabinetmakers, tailors, milliners, brewers,
and musicians. By 1860 the population was 678, including ninety seven African Americans as
well as French, Belgians, Swiss, and Germans. On July 8, 1860, a fire originating in the W. W.
Peak Brothers Drugstore spread to the other buildings on the square and destroyed most of the
businesses. Suspicion fell on slaves and Northern abolitionists; three slaves were hanged, and
two Iowa preachers were whipped and run out of town. In 1861 Dallas voters voted 741 to 237
to secede from the Union. Dallas was selected as one of eleven quartermaster and commissary
posts in Texas for the Trans Mississippi Army of the Confederacy. After the war, freed slaves
flocked to Dallas in search of jobs and settled in freedmen s towns on the periphery of the city. By
1870 the population was about 3,000.
The key to economic expansion had always been better transportation in and out of the region.
Early attempts to navigate the Trinity River had proved impractical. Dallas businessmen turned
their attention to securing rail service and succeeded in attracting the Houston and Texas Central in
1872 and the Texas and Pacific in 1873, making Dallas one of the first rail crossroads

Comparing and Contrasting Two Views of How Social Order Is...
Comparing and contrasting two views of how social order is produced as in the public spaces.
The concept of social order has various definitions. The explanations for the concept of social
order tend towards large scale studies and macro theories with a sharp focus on the analysis of
our society as an entity. There are however some studies that are more specific and are concerned
with issues smaller scale issues such as families, crime, communities while raising issues of
social order on a level which is described by Scott Marshall (2009, p.707) as micro. This work
explores the differences as a well as similarities of ideas that relates to the creation as well as
management of social order on the basis of Buchanan s work titled Traffic in Towns as well as
the ideas that were advanced by Hans Monderman (Buchanan, 1963).In this work, a lot of effort
is placed on the relationship that exists between the traffic and the pedestrians as well as how the
governance of these two important variables play part in the creation of social order. Buchanan
and Monderman effectively investigated the relationship that exists between pedestrians and the
traffic in the making and remaking of social order. The conclusion of the Second World War saw
the level of traffic congestions in most of the Britain s towns as well as cities increase in
correlation with the rather exponential rise in the level of car ownership as noted by Silva (2009,
p.325). Buchanan was effectively commission by the

Air Mail Act Of 1934 Essay
The Air Mail Act of 1934 banned the common ownership of manufactures and airlines so; this
caused the United Aircraft and Transport Corporation to spilt into three companies. Manufacturing
east of the Mississippi River became United Aircraft, which is now United Technologies,
manufacturing west of the Mississippi River became Boeing Airplane Company, and the airline
interest became known as United Airlines.
United s early routes were flown east to west from New York City via Chicago and Salt Lake City
to San Francisco as well as north south on the west coast. The routes came from connecting airmail
routes and from these routes came the first two hubs for United, which are Chicago and San
Francisco. These are two hubs that are still the principal hubs for United Airlines today. In 1933,

The first one came on June 30, 1956 when a United s DC 7 collided with a TWA Super

Role Of Pharmacy In Pharmacy
Pharmacy as a profession plays a very important part in the overall wellbeing of a patient. This is
an occupation that deals with the administration and pharmacology of medications. A pharmacist
is part of the team that ensures that a patient is nursed to full health, thereby improving the
quality of life. I was twelve years old when I decided that whatever occupation I end up doing, I
will be positively impacting the health of people. I made this decision one summer after school
just let out when I got inflicted with typhoid. I was very upset not just because of the severe
pain, but also because I couldn t go out and play since the illness didn t seem to be dissipating
even after a few days. It is common practice in Nigeria for people to self medicate with drugs like
Paracetamol and Panadol. This is because hospital bills are very expensive and treatment doesn t
begin until payment is made. Therefore, my mom administered these painkillers to me for the
first couple of days although my condition continued to worsen. Finally, we went to the hospital
where I was diagnosed with typhoid and directed to a pharmacist. A few days after taking the
medications given to me by the pharmacist, I started feeling better. This just goes to show that a
doctor s job is incomplete without a pharmacist. There have also been other instances where I
have marveled at the wonder that is medicine. For example, when my mom got diagnosed with
type 2 diabetes and it wasn t an issue so long as she

The Mexican Peso Crisis Essay
The Mexican Peso Crisis
This paper argues that the Mexican peso crisis of December 20 should have been expected and
foreseeable. In the year preceding the crisis, there were several indicators suggesting that the
Mexican economy and peso were already under extreme pressure. The economy bubble was
ballooning to burst so much so that it was simply a crisis waiting to happen.
Evidences Signaling the Crisis
1. Decreasing Current Account Deficit versus Increasing Capital Account Balance
Mexico was running an increasing current account deficit from US$7.5 billion in 1990 to US$23.4
billion in 1993. This indicates an excess of private investing over private savings. However, the

To counter the impact of federal fund rate increase on peso, Mexican government raised the
domestic interest rate by selling more short term government bonds. The interest rate for peso
denominated cetes rose to 15.79% in April 1994 and increased to 17.07% in July 1994.
However, in the second half of 1994, the Mexican government started to reduce the interest rate,
contrary to the federal fund rate. Also, more of dollar denominated tesobonos were issued
aggressively instead of peso denominated cetes. This was likely due to investors being more
willing to hold tesobonos as they will be covered against the risks of devaluation and also lower
interest rate for tesobonos than cetes. This was an indication that there was a loss in confidence
for peso (i.e. people expected that the peso will devaluate to a point that even the differential in
interest will not be able to cover and so were unwilling to hold on to peso denominated bonds). 4.
Declining Real GDP Growth
The Mexico?s inflation rate was really not in control as promised by the Mexican government.
The Consumer Price Index was on the rise and real GDP growth has declined from 4.5% in 1990
to 0.6% in 1993. This shows that Mexico will experience more rapid inflation than United States
in the coming year. This also means that Mexico peso will lose more value than US dollar during
the year ahead. Hence, there will be an

Descriptive Essay On Leo
Up in the twinkling night sky of the cosmos marvels a constellation of a Nemean Lion that I
wholeheartedly relate to. In astrology, the fifth zodiac sign, Leo, originates from this
constellation. As a July 27 baby, I am a Leo. During my youth, while buried under blankets, I
fervently read horoscopes and zodiac personality descriptions in magazines. On a similar note,
many children struggle to decipher their own identity and luckily, exploring my zodiac sign
tremendously helped me comprehend the inner workings of my mind. Learning about my zodiac
sign was a remarkable comfort, it electrified me that I was the paradigm of a Leo. In between the
words of astrologyblogs, the answers to the what and why for my own idiosyncrasies were
revealed. Those revelations of a proud fiery zodiac sign manifest as my own characteristics. From
my mannerisms to my physique, the Leo archetype illustrates who I am.
Since the symbol for Leo is a mighty lion, boasting a voluminous mane is, of course, a stereotype
of those born under this sign. One of my most distinguishable features is my silky, straight, waist
length, black hair. Whether it s because of favorable genetics or astrological luck, I frequently
receive compliments on my luscious locks. Specifically, I ll be sitting in class, leaning back, and
ruffling the tangles out of my hair. Karen, your hair is absolutely to die for! my classmate,

The Legacy Of The Abraham Lincoln
Republican Abraham Lincoln was elected president in November 1860, and would be
inaugurated on March 4, 1861. Tensions had been growing between southern slave states and
northern free states. Lincoln hailed from the Northern free state of Illinois, and made his anti
slavery views as he campaigned. Lincoln did not receive any votes from the southern states; his
name was not even on their ballots. All of the slave states were outraged when Lincoln was
elected, and feared he would abolish slavery. As a result, South Carolina seceded from the union
on December 20, 1860. This led many other southern states to consider seceding. 100 Mississippi
delegates gathered in Jackson, Mississippi for a convention to discuss secession. An ordinance
for secession was read aloud at the convention on January 9, 1861. Most of the delegates were in
favor of secession; however, there were a small group of men who did not want Mississippi to
secede. Three of these men each proposed one *amendment* to the ordinance in order to delay or
halt the secession of Mississippi from the union.
In the first proposal, proposed by Jacob Yerger, all the slave states would gather at a convention to
determine what amendments of the Constitution of the United States are necessary and proper to
secure the rights of the slaveholding States in the Union, and to finally settle and adjust all
questions relating to the subject of slavery in such manner as will relieve the South from the further

Fallacies Used In Donald Trump s Speech

Comparing Excalibur And The Future King
The legend of King Arthur is the most prominent character in Camelot Lore, but his stories as a
youth give insight to the values that were instilled in him. These values allow Arthur s actions to
transcend time, allowing new generations to learn the same lessons that Arthur learns. Two
contrasting pieces of literature that further prove this point is Excaliburby Sallie Bridges and The
Future King: Camelot 3000 the critic by Dominick Grace which both allow the reader to see the
significance of Young Arthur. Excalibur allows the reader to see how one of the classic tales of
Arthur tells of the traits that make him such an exceptional role model and public servant.

Throughout the poem Bridges first focuses on the blade rather than Arthur which shows the
importance this magical blade has in bringing Arthur his title of King of England. Arthur s blade
gives him his divine birthright of King that can go without challenge which adds nicely to the
already coveted story of King Arthur. In older retellings, Arthur is born out of the deceit of his
father who tricks Arthur s future mother into sleeping with him. This deceit, made possible by
Merlin s magic, is a unique plot device that allows one to analyze the personality of Arthur s father.
Uther s actions seem to tarnish the archetype of King Arthur s story by performing actions that
seem to contradict the chivalry that were expected at the time. In future versions of the legend of
King Arthur this plot point is often removed, this is due to the deception by Arthur, father which

Native Americans Short Story
Many objects have a story to tell. Those stories can be very historical and eventful. Some are not
just objects, but structures and monuments. Some are even unexplainable and have been studied
for years. Native Americans have many stories and objects to tell stories to other generations.
The headdress had a very important part in the story of how the Native Americans survived the
fight for this land. The fight between the Indians, Cougars, and Vikings was a great battle in
Georgia history that is not well known to many people except the remaining descendants. A very
long time ago, before the land was claimed by anyone, the Indians had found the land. For much
time they had suffered from other violent wars with Native tribes and were forced to abandon
their land to avoid more war. The land was perfect for them; it was big enough for agriculture and
homes. They went to gather supplies to build huts. An Indian, alone in the woods gathering more
supplies, was unexpectedly attacked by a cougar. Its razor claws cut various spots on the Indian
and its sharp teeth sinking into the Indians forearm, the Indian struggles to get an advantage over
the cougar until he is able to grab his tomahawk and hack it... Show more content on

They called themselves Vikings. They refuse to leave until the Viking walk away but they
threatened to return soon. The Indians did not know what the Vikings said; but they assumed it
was not good. This was the first time they had seen a Viking and the first impression was
threatening. The Indians discuss whether or not a fight was worth it for the land. They had it
rough and it took far too long to find land as well as the land they stand on. Before they come to a
final decision the trees speak to them. The trees tell them that the Vikings will tear them down and
leave as if they have done nothing. After listening to the trees, the Indians stay and prepare to fight

Allegory And Symbolism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
It is hard to read beyond the third paragraph of Young Goodman Brown without finding allegory
and symbolism. The opening seems realistic Goodman Brown, a young Puritan, leaves his home
in colonial Salem to take an overnight trip but his wife s name, Faith, immediately suggests a
symbolic reading. Before long, Brown s walk into the dream like forest seems like an allegorical
trip into evil. The idea that Hawthorne shows by this trip is that people are attracted to sin through
temptation which leads them towards a path of isolation and distrust. He develops this thought in
the allegoryand in many symbols, particularly the staff, the pink ribbon, and Faith.
The allegory is about Goodman Brown following his temptation and how it is ... Show more content

The pink ribbons represent innocence, Faith wears those pink ribbons the pink ribbons of her cap
(1), so she is thought to be innocent and childlike but as it turns out she is a secret sinner attracted
to sin and temptation like everyone.
The imagery in Young Goodman Brownis very dark and gothic like. Throughout the story the
narrator tries to capture evil within the imagery. The first appearance of a dark imagery is when
Goodman Brown describes the road he takes towards the forest, he describes it as a dreary road
(8) he also describes all the trees of the forest to appear gloomy like. Another image the author
paints is when Goodman Brown is walking down the road he then says that there might be a
devilish indian (9) behind the trees. This image captures the evil and darkness that is going on in
the forest and we can see this clearly through the imagery. The imagery also ties back to the
thematic statement.
Goodman Brown like every character in the story becomes tempted to sin. He admits that he is a
horrible person what wretch am I (7) for leaving Faith to follow his temptation. But he is attracted
and tempted to sin like every human being. His temptation leads him to become a stern, sad...
distrustful (72) man. After giving into the temptation of attending the meeting in the forest, he
gives into evil and does not know what to believe or trust anymore. All because he went away from
his faith. Even

The Conviction Of Slavery In The 18th Century
To add to the less humane English laws compared to those of the French laws, they also used
torture as a public spectacle to deter potential offenders. Under these laws, the enslaved could be
gibbeted, castrated, branded with hot irons, dismembered and even locked in dungeons for
unlimited periods as punishment for insubordination. 7 The whites in the French West Indies all
regarded the laws and respected the rights of slaves unlike the British planters. Under the slave
system in British colonies, Europeans who killed their human chattel while administering
punishments committed no criminal offences, as one report of 1788 states: Very little measure
appears to have been assigned by any general laws, to the Authority of the Master in punishing
Slaves. 8 The British thought of them as inferior, The Barbados legislature put the matter
succinctly in 1688, when it provided a solemn court for capital cases but omitted the usual jury of
twelve men, on the ground that the accused being British slaves, deserve not, from the Baseness of
their condition, to be tried by the legal trial of twelve men of their Peers, or Neighbourhood, which
truly neither can be rightly done, as the Subjects of England... Show more content on

slave laws were in fact more humane than those of the British West

Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Pros And Cons
If you are a man and have already lost a large portion of the hair on your head, then you may just
not feel like yourself anymore. While others may tell you that you still look attractive with less
hair, in the end, it is how you feel about your own appearance that counts. If you just don t like
how you look now that you have hairloss, then there are several ways that you can obtain a full
head of hair and finally feel like yourself again. Here are two quick options and their pros and cons.
1. Surgical Hair Replacement
Surgical hair replacement is a medical procedure where a surgeon first cuts off a strip of your
scalp from an area where hair is still abundant. The surgeon then takes donor active hair follicles
from the strip of hair and transplants them to areas of your scalp where hair no longer grows on its
own. This technique is often called a hair transplant .

Nonsurgical Hair Replacement
While there have been non surgical ways to replace hair for a while, such as toupees or hair
growth medications, none lasted long or were proven to work very well. However, true non
surgical hair replacement is a great technique to replace your hair that is relatively affordable and
works.
Nonsurgical hair replacement first involves a custom made hair system being produced for you.
This system is made of a a polymer and/or mesh base that is measured to fit your scalp perfectly.
Polymer bases are more durable and less expensive, but mesh ones keep your scalp cooler, so this
decision can be a tough one.
Then, human or synthetic hair is chosen to match your natural hair perfectly. Human hair is the
most natural looking and feeling, but today s synthetic hair can also look and feel very natural
when made well. Synthetic hair is more affordable than human hair. The hair is then attached to
the base made for your scalp in a very natural pattern to mimic how your original hair looked, and
the base can then be adhered to your scalp by you or a

This time I choose M.C. Escher s work Humanity . Again, there have been numerous imitations and
this ribbon type illustration is well known to the general public.
This is a much more challenging project as the illustration is very precise in how it is able to
convey the front features of both characters as well as make a believable ribbon that shows both
the volume and shape of both heads.
As I mentioned, it was important that the work was now in the creative commons, even if I was
not going to use the original work in my promo piece itself. Below is the image that I achieved in
my first try at this. In hindsight, I had a few issues that I didn t fix, but will highlight during this
article.

The first step is finding a suitable photo in my case, I wanted two images of myself but, not

look right. When I placed the Palberg above the WERX I knew I was then going in the right

Wiseblood Movie Vs Book
2. Wiseblood can be described as hopeful throughout the novel and movie because of Hazel s
struggle to wrap his mind around Christianity. In the first scene of the movie version of
Wiseblood, Hazel asks the lady sitting across from him on the train whether or not she thinks
she has been saved by Jesus. He then launches into his spiel about why she can not be saved and
that Jesus never washed everyone s sins away with his blood (Wiseblood). While this may not
seem hopeful, it is made clear that Hazel is trying to convince himself that Jesus did not save him
from his sins. The fact that Hazel is trying to convince himself that Jesus can not wash sins away
is why the book is described as hopeful. His struggle with religion shows that Hazel still... Show

O Connor chose character names to help show the role religion plays in her novel, Wiseblood.
Enoch is based off of Enoch from the Bible. Enoch was the great grandfather of Noah. He walked
with God and lived until he was 365 years old. He was very wise and some say that he never
died; he just went to Heaven to live with God. In the novel and the movie, Enoch had wiseblood
that he inherited from his father (O Connor). The fact that Enoch inherited his wisdom from his
father shows that Enoch was based off of Enoch from the Bible who walked with God, The
Father. Enoch also did not die at the end of the book, he simply ran away in the gorilla suit,
which goes back to the story of Enoch when he went to live in Heaven with God instead of
dying. Sabbath was named after the sabbath. Her name did not show her true character though.
She turned out to not be innocent at all. In the movie, she tries to be very seductive with her
movements when she is around Hazel. She even tells Hazel how she wrote a letter to a
columnist for advise about necking (Wiseblood). She symbolizes all of the people who say they
are Christians when they are actually just frauds. Then there is Asa Hawks, who is blind.
Hawks can be compared to Saul changed into Paul. Saul was an atheist who was blinded by
God, he eventually became a Christian and was granted his sight back. Hawks was a preacher
that decided he was going to blind himself in front of a crowd with lye (O Connor). However, he
did not have the courage to go through with it (O Connor), so he just pretended to be blind. O

Forest Observation Paper
In the North Carolinian piedmont, there are several different forest communities. The main types
are, loblolly/ slash pine forest, mesic forest, oak forest, and floodplain forest (NC Wildlife 2015).
Soil types, elevation, climate, and nutrient availability are important components of determining
forest types. There are also certain species, considered indicators that help predict the type of forest
community. The change in environmental factors and species distribution allow for different forest
types (Cortes, Islebe 2005). Measuring the environmental factors of a plot and identifying the
different species present can predict Forest types and is commonly done by land and forest
managers (Fortunel etc. Al 2014). This experiment tests different locations of the NC piedmont, to
help determine forest types in this area. Through looking at different areas of the piedmont, I
hypothesis there will be four different types of forests, representing the most common types in this
area. In addition, I predict soil types and nutrients are important indicators of forest types.

Similarities Between Genesis And The Truman Show
In both the Truman Show and Genesis there is a main creator. Christof, in The Truman Show, is
the director of a programme that stars a man called Truman Burbank. Christof controls majority of
the things that happen inside of the television program and within his creations. God, in the bible,
created the world and everything that it holds. God has power over two people he creates in the
story of Genesis. The product of both creators are also extremely alike, Truman showing a lot of
qualities that Adam shows. The two creators differ in ways of control and their decisions made.
Although they have differences, there are many parallels to how they handle their power over their
creations.
One of the main points of similarity include where the main story is the set. In The Truman Show,
the director, Christof, creates a real building in the shape of a dome and names it Seahaven. In
the bible God made a dome and named it sky. Both stories show a perfectly clean and perfect
place for the main characters to live. The dome in The Truman show is shown to be a
stereotypically clean, small American town. Similarly, the dome in the bible is shown as a
beautiful place to live filled with everything someone living there could need. Inside the dome in
Genesis, Lord God took some soil from the ground and formed a man out of it. God created
humans to live inside the dome he made whereas Christof put actors inside the dome.
The scene starts with Truman looking in the bathroom mirror. It

From an moral standpoint the IGRA was created to keep in check the ethics of gambling in
casinos but we find that the IGRA does not create the greatest amount of utility for tribes, but
restricts their rights and gives an unfair advantage to state government. The IGRA is unethical in
regards to tribes operating casinos on reservations. Since the settlement of America, Native
Americans have received the short end of the stick. Settlers continuously encroached upon Native
American land, completely disregarding the fact the Indians were there first. After years of
displacing the Indians and fighting with them, the government allotted reservations for the Indians
to call their own. Now that tribes have been finally given a chance at economic development,
many reservations have taken advantage of casinos to provide a better life for tribal members.
Moral issues have been brought up, from government to non Native Americans. Even tribal
members argue the moral issues. People who are fighting this are fighting it for a variety of
reasons. It s just how it would change the whole community, the flavor. Having a 24 7 bright lights,
honky tonk feel, it s just not what people want. Says Susie Dewberry, a Suislaw tribal member.
(Pittenger) One of the great benefits the casinos have created is employment for many Native

Immigration American Immigration
Why did so many immigrants leave home? What were their expectations? From where? Many
Europeans decided to come to America for many reasons. All of them, immigrated because the
European continent was living in a bad economic and religious situation. America experienced a
massive immigration that occurred from around 1800s to 1900s. Most of these newcomers came
from Northern and Western Europe. Many came from Ireland and Germany, which experienced a
massive potato famine in the mid 19th century. Some Escaped religious persecution and came to
search for freedom to practice their faith (Catholics and Jews) looking for refuge and renewal.
Also, a huge number of immigrants came to America for wealth, seeking economic opportunities
(economic betterment and the desire for cash). According to Professor Young, she argued that
immigrants were often feared for bringing foreign and radical influences to the U.S. I totally agree
with this statement because many Americans were so scared of communism (Leninism and

PC Vs Mac Essay
When purchasing a personal computer, buyers used to grapple with the decision: a Macintosh from
Apple Computer or a Microsoft based PC?
Microsoft effectively won that operating system debate years ago and claims more than 90% of the
PC operating system market.
But in the push to legally sell digital music, Apple and Microsoft, and their incompatible file
formats, are at it again. Consumers are in the position of having to choose as hardware makers line
up behind either Microsoft or Apple s software format.
Hewlett Packard s recent surprise decision to snub longtime PC partner Microsoft and offer Apple
music software on its PCs shows how unpredictable this battle may be.
Microsoft lost the first round of the digital music war, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
H P will sell Apple s iPodunder its own name and use Apple s iTunes music software on PCs
beginning this summer. In announcing the alliance, H P CEO Carly Fiorina said it had been
working on developing its own portable music player, but concluded that Apple s iPod . . . and
iTunes . . . were the best.
Despite the hoopla for the H P/Apple deal, Microsoft says its momentum hasn t slowed. You ll
continue to see more (music) stores coming out in Windows Media, says Dave Fester, general
manager of Microsoft s Windows Media division. Just Monday, Coca Cola in Europe opened a
new Windows Media based online store. Others are in the works, including Microsoft s own.
The battle takes shape
Last year, Microsoft signed up company after company (including Wal Mart, Musicmatch and Best
Buy) to sell digital music in the Windows Media format. It clearly had the companies on its side
even while Apple was winning the heart of consumers.
Apple effectively kick started the legitimate digital music business last April with the introduction
of the iTunes Music Store. Originally just for Mac users, Apple opened it to Windows users in
October. Apple now claims sales of 30 million songs and a 70% market share.
Apple s iTunes success was helped by the smash success of the iPod. Some 735,000 were sold in
the last quarter alone, and 2 million to date. Microsoft says there are 4 million portable devices that
can play Windows Media including units from Dell, Creative

For some Jackbooters, the sale of other products such as evangelization materials and Ryanite

deemed as being just as viable in making a profit. Among the Volksryanischen, particularly those
who ended up partaking in the Plaid Prohibition, the term evangelization materials was for the
most part, used to refer to items that were made of paper. Pamphlets, brochures, leaflets and other

This can improve their skills as well as they can share their ideas behind their decisions for

Purpose Of An Emergency Action Plan
Purpose of an Emergency Action Plan:
There is an inherent risk of injury in sport participation. In order to safely, quickly, and effectively
deal with the possible injuries this risk may bring, an emergency action plan is needed. The staff
involved in overseeing participants must know their roles in emergency situations, as well as
proper procedure and protocols in order to provide quality care. An emergency action plan is
essential in order to insure timely care in potentially life threatening situations and medical
emergencies.

emergency help is required, this address should be given to the personnel responding to the call.
Whoever makes the 911 call should also explain EMS must enter from the only entrance, at the
front of the park, where the medical tent will be located. The caller, who will be assigned to be so
by the first responder on scene, should also state the nature of the emergency, how many people are
involved, care rendered to that point, and be prepared for any additional questions the operator may

School Of Nursing Analysis Paper
School of Nursing Analysis Paper The University of Rochester, School of Nursing was founded
in 1928, concurrently with the Strong Memorial Hospital and the School of Medicine and
Dentistry. The School of Nursing became an independent school in 1968, partnering nursing with
medicine and becoming an organizational model that would influence nursing at a national level.
In 1998, declining baccalaureate enrollment and the financial crisis that this caused created new
challenges for the School. Competition among area schools fueled changes. The School of
Nursing could no longer compete with tuition rates for baccalaureate programs at other schools.
Prospective students were choosing schools with lower cost of tuition for nursing programs. The
School of Nursing had to quickly figure out how to make their programs marketable. The
decision was made to phase out the generic baccalaureate program and restructure the program so
that it was geared toward registered nurses. What was born from this restructure was the
accelerated program for non nurses and the registered nurse to baccalaureate program (RN to BS).
During the 1999 strategic planning process, emphasis was focused on creating nationally
recognized areas for research as identified by the Medical Center (Strong Memorial Hospital). To
help with this goal, faculty was recruited specifically to enhance the School of Nursing s research
and scholarship programs. The School of Nursing s emphasis changed from the student

What is the relationship between observer and environment? How the visual quality of a city
can contribute to the urban legibility? This introduction addresses the basic material of this
section. The task of this section is to give an overview of Kevin Lynch s theory of urban form, as
set out in his book The Image of the City. City image is important because the ability to recognize
objects in our environment are critical to our ability to act and function in places effectively. Thus,
the ability of a city is somewhat depends on its ability to be easily found and identified. Kevin
Lynch made a connection between psychology and environment, at a time when many
psychologists preferred laboratory experiments to the wondering variables of the complicated, real

Stereotypes In The Lion King
Films serve as a means of communication and are composed of millions of different elements that
form a narrative. Also, they use original techniques to deliver messages in ways that the creator
wants them to deliver. Usually, children s films contain a variety of implicit messages, because the
language should be simple, and in turn, it should contain fun elements. However, one of the best
ways to create stereotypes in cultureis the use of children s movies, because people build their
personality and critical thinking in their first years of life. An example of this is the movie The
Lion King, where the characters are animals, but also each one plays a role of a human being
within a society. This filmshows a patriarchal and sexist society, where men have all the power not
only in government but also within their own family; women, by contrast, have a secondary role
always being focused on the service of men and their children. It also has an implicit... Show more

Love Can t Be Prevented
What if you lived in a society where love is considered a disease? Lena and Alex live in a world
where the government sees love as illegal. People can get arrested for being in love, and even be
executed for it. The book that this society is in is called Delirium, by Lauren Oliver. Lena and
Alex fall in love in this dystopian society, and try to defy the government. They meet up secretly,
and even try to escape together. A message that I ve gotten from this is that love can t be
restrained no matter what. Lena and Alex fall in love in a society where it isn t allowed. Lena
says, ВЁThe only word left there is yes. Yes to everything. (pg.232) Lena says this when she falls
in love with Alex. This supports my theme that love can t be restrained because she lets herself
fall in love with him when the government is strongly against love and tells everyone it is a
disease. No matter how much the government tries to stop it, people will still fall in love. Love can
t be restrained. Lena ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lena says to Alex, I want to run away with you. To the Wilds. Like we talked about. (pg.374)
Lena says this when she finds out that everyone lied to her about her mother killing herself
because of love. The truth was that she was imprisoned in the in the Crypts. Left to rot there just
because she had the disease. The reason this supports the claim is because she wants to escape
because she s in love and the government is holding them back. She wants to run away with
Alex so they can be free forever. By the end of the book, she thinks, Alex told me to run. And so I
run. (pg.440) She thinks this when she and Alex are running to the Wilds, and Alex helps her get
past the fence and escape. However, this happens with the price of Alex being taken away from the
government. This shows that love can t be restrained because Lena was so in love that she defied

Drosophila Melanogaster Linkage And Inheritance Essay
Drosophila melanogaster, Linkage Inheritance
Peggy Chang 999349986
BIOC15 Peter, PRA002
University of Toronto Scarborough
Abstract
This experiment studied Mendel s law of independent assortment through observing three
generations of Drosophila melanogaster. His law was examined by looking at the inheritance
patterns that predicted genetic linkage, mapping distances and interference. Genes are located
along chromosomes and the distances between them vary. During recombination, these genes
may become unlinked. The frequency to which this occurs relies on the recombination
frequency, in which a greater value represents a greater distance between two loci. By looking at
inheritance patterns and recombination frequencies, this experiment showed that white eyes,
short wings and forked bristles are X linked traits. As well, dumpy wings and brown eyes are
autosomal traits. The expected ratio of a dihybrid cross of 9:3:3:1, was used to determine linkage
between two loci. This was then verified using a chi square test. Through analysis of our results,
linkage existed between white eyes and short wings, as well as between short wings and forked
bristles. Linkage was also found for the strains that had dumpy wings and brown eyes.

Examples Of Plot Twist In A Story
Plot twist occurs near or at the conclusion of a story. It is an unexpected conclusion to a work of
fiction that causes to reevaluate the whole plot and characters. When a plot twist happens it
changes one s view of the preceding events, it is also known as a surprise ending or twist ending.
It provides ideas for unexpected turns in the course of narrative. O.Henry has profoundly used this
technique in almost all his stories. There are many mechanics by which twisted endings are created.

Canadian Honey Labelling Regulations
In today s society there are regulations in place for everything from the safety of children s toys to
road construction to food processing and packaging. Regulations consist of requirements the
government imposes on private firms and individuals to achieve government s purposes (Litan,
2008). Regulations are in place to protect businesses, producers, consumers, individuals, animals,
and even the environment. For example, the packaging and labelling regulations in Canada protects
the consumers and producers of the many foodproducts produced in Canada, one of which is honey.

According to the group, the deregulation of food container sizes would be inconvenient for
consumers, as Canadian consumers use the standard package sizes to compare prices ( Push for
deregulation , 2012). With the deregulation, there is also potential for downsized packages to carry
the same price tag as previous products of a higher quantity, which would be a disadvantage to
Canadian consumers as well ( Push for deregulation , 2012). Canadian Grocer also points out that
because of these regulations, Canadian producers and manufacturers have invested in equipment
that is based on the packaging sizes of containers in Canada, and that the deregulation of these sizes
would cost these producers the money they could spend on produce to retool their processing
equipment ( Push for deregulation , 2012). As previously mentioned, these regulatory changes
would not only affect the honey industry, but other industries, like the ketchup industry as well. A
decision like this could have very large impacts on Canadian farming and processing cities and
towns, such as Leamington, Ontario, also known as the Tomato Capital of Canada. The mayor of
Leamington, John Paterson, stated that the Heinz ketchup plant that uses the tomatoes of the 80
tomato farms of the area to make ketchup would be vulnerable to closing, and consolidating the

Margolin Vs Novelty Now Case Study
Milestone 1
Julia Cummings
BUS 206
September 24, 2017
In the case of Margolin v. Novelty Now the appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several
factors. In personal jurisdiction the book states that the courts are given the power to provide a
decision in affecting the rights of individuals (Kubasek). In this case, the court will give a decision
giving rights to Mr. Margolin, and taking rights from Novelty Now. For subject matter jurisdiction,
a certain specified court will be able to hear the case This means, that it must be decided which
court hears the case, whether state or federal jurisdiction. Since this case contains three different
states, the federal court system must be the one to hear the case. In this case, minimum contacts
must be determined to decide if a certain state will have power to assert personal jurisdiction over
a defendant from another state (Kubasek). In this case, it must be decided if New York will take
personal jurisdiction of the defendants residing in California, or Novelty Now residing in Florida.
Alternative dispute resolution may be an option to resolve this case. ADR is a method of resolving
cases through methods other than court. These can be negotiation, mediation, arbitration, mini trials,
private trials, etc. (Kubasek). In this case, negotiation outside of trial would be a good option for
Funny Face. ADR is often cheaper than a traditional trial as well. This way they would not have
to face bad publicity for this incident. This might also be a good idea for Mr. Margolin because
the case will go much faster, meaning he could get restitution much faster, and would cut his legal
costs as well.
Language on the Funny Face website appears to limit any claim filed to arbitration as a means
of resolving the dispute. Arbitration is a method of resolution to a case by choosing a neutral
third party outside a judicial setting (Kubasek). Arbitration would be a good solution for both Mr.
Margolin and Funny Face in this case. Mr. Margolin would be able to explain his condition and
provide medical evidence stating that Funny Face was indeed the cause of his condition. However,
a neutral third party may believe that there was enough stated by Funny Face for Mr. Margolin to
have

Ducati Group s Strategic Plan
Before to Ducati s acquisition by Texas Pacific Group, a deep financial crisis affected Ducati,
undermining its production and consequently negatively affecting its market results. Production
was less than production capacity and therefore it was clear that a relaunch of the company was
necessary. The strategic plan carried out by Ducati Group, with the help of newly appointed Minoli,
focused on the idea of increasing the company s value through a growth in turnover volume and
protection of product profit margins. One of the most interesting aspects of the changes embraced
by the Ducati, is the restructuring of the production system which began in the mid 1990s in order
to maintain the product margin and increase the level of sales and turnover.
Minoli found three things at Ducati when he arrived:
good products: unique and beautiful bikes, although regarded as less efficient and reliable in
comparison to Japanese models
top notch engineers: both in R D and for the racing division
a brand with a strong potential: in most European markets, Ducati s brand recognition and loyalty
was the highest in the motorcycle industry.
First, the aspiring team started off the transformation of Ducati s strategic plan by creating what
was called the World of Ducati , to support and develop the brand. This started with the decision to
build a museum, in order to show that Ducati was more than a motorcycle company; Ducati was a
dream and a passion. Through this Ducati was able to

  • 2. The Importance Of The Bill Of Lading And Freight Bill In transportation logistics what is importance/interplay of the BILL OF LADING AND FREIGHT BILL? (10) In transportation logistics Bills of lading are official or certified documents, which could be admissible in a court. They name items to be transported during a freight shipment. The bills of lading are issued by the shipping company, those hauling your material, or a third party logistics company. The bills of Lading should include descriptions of every item, weight, and value being shipped. These bills represent the agreement between the shipper and the logistics provider on where the freight will be transported, where the freight will be collected, and when the freight will show up at its destination. Furthermore, it can function as the title to the goods described for shipping for situations involving official descriptions of loan collateral. The bill makes the service level agreement clearly stated and documented as a agreed upon freight company and customer commitment. A company must prudently attempt to met obligations, or this bill will showcase a fault or flaw in service. Both customers and freight companies want to ensure these bills are accurate and reliable for dispute purposes since they can avoid or alleviate issues. Freight bills do not serve as key evidence in disputes, they can include additional charges besides what is on the bills of lading including stipulations that clarify the information on the bill of lading document. Hitler and the Nazi Party s Total Control Over the Lives of German People from 1933 1945 In Germany, they came first for the Communists, and I didn t speak up because I wasn t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn t speak up because I wasn t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn t speak up because I wasn t a trade unionist. There was no check and balance. It was a totalitarian state; controlled by Hitler and the Nazis. • 5. The Real World-Personal Narrative The Real World Gunnar Thompson, 650 word, Growing Up One of the biggest turning points in my life was when I got my first job. I wasn t even old enough to drive yet when I was first hired at the Middletown Sportsmen s Club. I remember the anxiety and excitement that came along with it. I was so scared that I would mess something up when I first started and I remember my dad saying to me don t worry about because everyone makes mistakes especially when they are doing something that is new to them. This was one of my first responsibility that takes place in the adult world. I developed many new skills that I would ve never known it wasn t for this job. I learned to handle myself in a polite manner in front of adults and I also learned about work equipment such as how to run a tractor and a bobcat. Getting this job was very life changing for me. I found that after working for several months I was starting to get more mature and responsible. One of the most important thing I learned at this job was social skills. I ve always thought that school wasn t enough to teach me social skills because I was always around people of my own age. Here I was always around adults and in turn this taught me how to handle myself in front of adults and strangers. • 6. Negative Consequences Of The Dust Bowl I ve seen very often that some people seem to think their actions won t have any negative consequences, or effect on anything around them. This can lead them to make decisions that have can create major consequences for others and themselves, all for personal gain. This idea was widely acted upon in the 1920 s, where so many people had not known that their actions would lead to, creating The Great Depression. One of the more important Consequences was called the Dust Bowl. The Dust Bowl was an event caused by the rise of farming in the 1920 s, which continues to affect the way we grow our crops to this very day. The Dust Bowl was known as a large section of the US that was covered in a large amount of powerful dust storms, which was caused by over excessive farming during the 1920 s. Like many things during the time period, farming had started to become more and more profitable. In fact, farming had been getting more profitable since WW1. However, this caused people to become greedy. People would farm more and more land each year, in an effort to produce better results. Farmers plowed away at field after field, unaware that anything negative would occur from it. As said in the article The Dust Bowl on USHistory.com, What was unknown to these early pioneers was that the grass and trees of the plains essentially nourished and held the soil in place with their tough roots, (3). • 7. Enkidu As A Hero In The Epic Of Gilgamesh In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu helps act as a catalyst for the transformation of Gilgamesh s character from an undefeatable god like brute into a complex thinker. In the eyes of Gilgamesh, he is unstoppable and is willing to challenge death itself so long as he is remembered as a hero by his subjects. With Enkidus help, Gilgamesh learns to become a better person as a ruler, not as a better warrior. Although not blood related, Enkidu was like a brother to Gilgamesh and the duo shared an inseparable bond. Throughout the epic, Enkidu teaches Gilgamesh that he is not unstoppable, being stubborn will not stop him from dying, and that there are no easy solutions to life. At the beginning of the epic, before Enkidu is introduced, Gilgamesh is described by the narrator as godly and fit for Uruk s throne by default. These descriptions are vital in order to interpret how the villagers feel and also to perceive just how mighty Enkidu has to be in order to rival Gilgamesh. Supreme over other kings, lordly in appearance, /he is the hero, born of Uruk, the goring wild bull. /He walks out in front, the leader, / (1. 27 29). The narrator speaks extremely fondly to emphasize just how mighty the main character is and that no other men in any of the nearby regions seem to come close when the level of their manliness is compared to that of Gilgamesh. The use of the words Supreme and Lordly indicate that in Gilgamesh s point of view, he is doing an excellent job of reigning over his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Daxas Essay DALLAS, TEXAS. Dallas is on the Trinity River in the center of Dallas County in North Central Texas. It is crossed by Interstate highways 20, 30, 35, and 45. The city was founded by John Neely Bryan, who settled on the east bank of the Trinity near a natural ford in November 1841. Bryan had picked the best spot for a trading post to serve the population migrating into the region. The ford, at the intersection of two major Indian traces, provided the only good crossing point for miles. Two highways proposed by the Republic of Texassoon converged nearby. Unknown to Bryan, however, he had settled on land granted by the republic to the Texan Land and Emigration Company of St. Louis, headed by William S. Peters. Bryan eventually legalized his... With the breakup of the nearby La RГ©union colony in the late 1850s, skilled European craftsmen and artists moved into Dallas, including brickmakers, cabinetmakers, tailors, milliners, brewers, and musicians. By 1860 the population was 678, including ninety seven African Americans as well as French, Belgians, Swiss, and Germans. On July 8, 1860, a fire originating in the W. W. Peak Brothers Drugstore spread to the other buildings on the square and destroyed most of the businesses. Suspicion fell on slaves and Northern abolitionists; three slaves were hanged, and two Iowa preachers were whipped and run out of town. In 1861 Dallas voters voted 741 to 237 to secede from the Union. Dallas was selected as one of eleven quartermaster and commissary posts in Texas for the Trans Mississippi Army of the Confederacy. After the war, freed slaves flocked to Dallas in search of jobs and settled in freedmen s towns on the periphery of the city. By 1870 the population was about 3,000. The key to economic expansion had always been better transportation in and out of the region. Early attempts to navigate the Trinity River had proved impractical. Dallas businessmen turned their attention to securing rail service and succeeded in attracting the Houston and Texas Central in 1872 and the Texas and Pacific in 1873, making Dallas one of the first rail crossroads ... • 10. Comparing and Contrasting Two Views of How Social Order Is... Comparing and contrasting two views of how social order is produced as in the public spaces. The concept of social order has various definitions. The explanations for the concept of social order tend towards large scale studies and macro theories with a sharp focus on the analysis of our society as an entity. There are however some studies that are more specific and are concerned with issues smaller scale issues such as families, crime, communities while raising issues of social order on a level which is described by Scott Marshall (2009, p.707) as micro. This work explores the differences as a well as similarities of ideas that relates to the creation as well as management of social order on the basis of Buchanan s work titled Traffic in Towns as well as the ideas that were advanced by Hans Monderman (Buchanan, 1963).In this work, a lot of effort is placed on the relationship that exists between the traffic and the pedestrians as well as how the governance of these two important variables play part in the creation of social order. Buchanan and Monderman effectively investigated the relationship that exists between pedestrians and the traffic in the making and remaking of social order. The conclusion of the Second World War saw the level of traffic congestions in most of the Britain s towns as well as cities increase in correlation with the rather exponential rise in the level of car ownership as noted by Silva (2009, p.325). Air Mail Act Of 1934 Essay The Air Mail Act of 1934 banned the common ownership of manufactures and airlines so; this caused the United Aircraft and Transport Corporation to spilt into three companies. Manufacturing east of the Mississippi River became United Aircraft, which is now United Technologies, manufacturing west of the Mississippi River became Boeing Airplane Company, and the airline interest became known as United Airlines. United s early routes were flown east to west from New York City via Chicago and Salt Lake City to San Francisco as well as north south on the west coast. The routes came from connecting airmail routes and from these routes came the first two hubs for United, which are Chicago and San Francisco. This is an occupation that deals with the administration and pharmacology of medications. A pharmacist is part of the team that ensures that a patient is nursed to full health, thereby improving the quality of life. I was twelve years old when I decided that whatever occupation I end up doing, I will be positively impacting the health of people. I made this decision one summer after school just let out when I got inflicted with typhoid. I was very upset not just because of the severe pain, but also because I couldn t go out and play since the illness didn t seem to be dissipating even after a few days. It is common practice in Nigeria for people to self medicate with drugs like Paracetamol and Panadol. This is because hospital bills are very expensive and treatment doesn t begin until payment is made. Therefore, my mom administered these painkillers to me for the first couple of days although my condition continued to worsen. Finally, we went to the hospital where I was diagnosed with typhoid and directed to a pharmacist. A few days after taking the medications given to me by the pharmacist, I started feeling better. This just goes to show that a doctor s job is incomplete without a pharmacist. There have also been other instances where I have marveled at the wonder that is medicine. • 13. The Mexican Peso Crisis Essay The Mexican Peso Crisis This paper argues that the Mexican peso crisis of December 20 should have been expected and foreseeable. In the year preceding the crisis, there were several indicators suggesting that the Mexican economy and peso were already under extreme pressure. The economy bubble was ballooning to burst so much so that it was simply a crisis waiting to happen. Evidences Signaling the Crisis 1. Decreasing Current Account Deficit versus Increasing Capital Account Balance Mexico was running an increasing current account deficit from US$7.5 billion in 1990 to US$23.4 billion in 1993. This indicates an excess of private investing over private savings. However, the country was able to maintain an improving fiscal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Colosio. To counter the impact of federal fund rate increase on peso, Mexican government raised the domestic interest rate by selling more short term government bonds. The interest rate for peso denominated cetes rose to 15.79% in April 1994 and increased to 17.07% in July 1994. However, in the second half of 1994, the Mexican government started to reduce the interest rate, contrary to the federal fund rate. Also, more of dollar denominated tesobonos were issued aggressively instead of peso denominated cetes. This was likely due to investors being more willing to hold tesobonos as they will be covered against the risks of devaluation and also lower interest rate for tesobonos than cetes. This was an indication that there was a loss in confidence for peso (i.e. people expected that the peso will devaluate to a point that even the differential in interest will not be able to cover and so were unwilling to hold on to peso denominated bonds). 4. Declining Real GDP Growth The Mexico?s inflation rate was really not in control as promised by the Mexican government. The Consumer Price Index was on the rise and real GDP growth has declined from 4.5% in 1990 to 0.6% in 1993. This shows that Mexico will experience more rapid inflation than United States in the coming year. This also means that Mexico peso will lose more value than US dollar during the year ahead. In astrology, the fifth zodiac sign, Leo, originates from this constellation. As a July 27 baby, I am a Leo. During my youth, while buried under blankets, I fervently read horoscopes and zodiac personality descriptions in magazines. On a similar note, many children struggle to decipher their own identity and luckily, exploring my zodiac sign tremendously helped me comprehend the inner workings of my mind. Learning about my zodiac sign was a remarkable comfort, it electrified me that I was the paradigm of a Leo. In between the words of astrologyblogs, the answers to the what and why for my own idiosyncrasies were revealed. Those revelations of a proud fiery zodiac sign manifest as my own characteristics. From my mannerisms to my physique, the Leo archetype illustrates who I am. Since the symbol for Leo is a mighty lion, boasting a voluminous mane is, of course, a stereotype of those born under this sign. One of my most distinguishable features is my silky, straight, waist length, black hair. Whether it s because of favorable genetics or astrological luck, I frequently receive compliments on my luscious locks. • 15. The Legacy Of The Abraham Lincoln Republican Abraham Lincoln was elected president in November 1860, and would be inaugurated on March 4, 1861. Tensions had been growing between southern slave states and northern free states. Lincoln hailed from the Northern free state of Illinois, and made his anti slavery views as he campaigned. Lincoln did not receive any votes from the southern states; his name was not even on their ballots. All of the slave states were outraged when Lincoln was elected, and feared he would abolish slavery. As a result, South Carolina seceded from the union on December 20, 1860. This led many other southern states to consider seceding. 100 Mississippi delegates gathered in Jackson, Mississippi for a convention to discuss secession. An ordinance for secession was read aloud at the convention on January 9, 1861. Most of the delegates were in favor of secession; however, there were a small group of men who did not want Mississippi to secede. Three of these men each proposed one *amendment* to the ordinance in order to delay or halt the secession of Mississippi from the union. In the first proposal, proposed by Jacob Yerger, all the slave states would gather at a convention to determine what amendments of the Constitution of the United States are necessary and proper to secure the rights of the slaveholding States in the Union, and to finally settle and adjust all questions relating to the subject of slavery in such manner as will relieve the South from the further agitation of ... Two contrasting pieces of literature that further prove this point is Excaliburby Sallie Bridges and The Future King: Camelot 3000 the critic by Dominick Grace which both allow the reader to see the significance of Young Arthur. The Conviction Of Slavery In The 18th Century To add to the less humane English laws compared to those of the French laws, they also used torture as a public spectacle to deter potential offenders. Under these laws, the enslaved could be gibbeted, castrated, branded with hot irons, dismembered and even locked in dungeons for unlimited periods as punishment for insubordination. 7 The whites in the French West Indies all regarded the laws and respected the rights of slaves unlike the British planters. Under the slave system in British colonies, Europeans who killed their human chattel while administering punishments committed no criminal offences, as one report of 1788 states: Very little measure appears to have been assigned by any general laws, to the Authority of the Master in punishing Slaves. 8 The British thought of them as inferior, The Barbados legislature put the matter succinctly in 1688, when it provided a solemn court for capital cases but omitted the usual jury of twelve men, on the ground that the accused being British slaves, deserve not, from the Baseness of their condition, to be tried by the legal trial of twelve men of their Peers, or Neighbourhood, which truly neither can be rightly done, as the Subjects of England... Christof, in The Truman Show, is the director of a programme that stars a man called Truman Burbank. Christof controls majority of the things that happen inside of the television program and within his creations. God, in the bible, created the world and everything that it holds. God has power over two people he creates in the story of Genesis. The product of both creators are also extremely alike, Truman showing a lot of qualities that Adam shows. The two creators differ in ways of control and their decisions made. Although they have differences, there are many parallels to how they handle their power over their creations. One of the main points of similarity include where the main story is the set. In The Truman Show, the director, Christof, creates a real building in the shape of a dome and names it Seahaven. In the bible God made a dome and named it sky. Both stories show a perfectly clean and perfect place for the main characters to live. The dome in The Truman show is shown to be a stereotypically clean, small American town. Similarly, the dome in the bible is shown as a beautiful place to live filled with everything someone living there could need. • 49. Drosophila Melanogaster Linkage And Inheritance Essay Drosophila melanogaster, Linkage Inheritance Peggy Chang 999349986 BIOC15 Peter, PRA002 University of Toronto Scarborough Abstract This experiment studied Mendel s law of independent assortment through observing three generations of Drosophila melanogaster. His law was examined by looking at the inheritance patterns that predicted genetic linkage, mapping distances and interference. Genes are located along chromosomes and the distances between them vary. During recombination, these genes may become unlinked. The frequency to which this occurs relies on the recombination frequency, in which a greater value represents a greater distance between two loci. By looking at inheritance patterns and recombination frequencies, this experiment showed that white eyes, short wings and forked bristles are X linked traits. As well, dumpy wings and brown eyes are autosomal traits. The expected ratio of a dihybrid cross of 9:3:3:1, was used to determine linkage between two loci. • 51. Canadian Honey Labelling Regulations In today s society there are regulations in place for everything from the safety of children s toys to road construction to food processing and packaging. Regulations consist of requirements the government imposes on private firms and individuals to achieve government s purposes (Litan, 2008). Regulations are in place to protect businesses, producers, consumers, individuals, animals, and even the environment. For example, the packaging and labelling regulations in Canada protects the consumers and producers of the many foodproducts produced in Canada, one of which is honey. This paper will focus on the packaging and labelling requirements of Canadian honey through discussion of the regulations, stakeholders and the opposition of stakeholders... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the group, the deregulation of food container sizes would be inconvenient for consumers, as Canadian consumers use the standard package sizes to compare prices ( Push for deregulation , 2012). With the deregulation, there is also potential for downsized packages to carry the same price tag as previous products of a higher quantity, which would be a disadvantage to Canadian consumers as well ( Push for deregulation , 2012). Canadian Grocer also points out that because of these regulations, Canadian producers and manufacturers have invested in equipment that is based on the packaging sizes of containers in Canada, and that the deregulation of these sizes would cost these producers the money they could spend on produce to retool their processing equipment ( Push for deregulation , 2012). As previously mentioned, these regulatory changes would not only affect the honey industry, but other industries, like the ketchup industry as well. A decision like this could have very large impacts on Canadian farming and processing cities and towns, such as Leamington, Ontario, also known as the Tomato Capital of Canada. The mayor of Leamington, John Paterson, stated that the Heinz ketchup plant that uses the tomatoes of the 80 tomato farms of the area to make ketchup would be vulnerable to closing, and consolidating the production to ... • 52. Margolin Vs Novelty Now Case Study Milestone 1 Julia Cummings BUS 206 September 24, 2017 In the case of Margolin v. Novelty Now the appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several factors. In personal jurisdiction the book states that the courts are given the power to provide a decision in affecting the rights of individuals (Kubasek). In this case, the court will give a decision giving rights to Mr. Margolin, and taking rights from Novelty Now. For subject matter jurisdiction, a certain specified court will be able to hear the case This means, that it must be decided which court hears the case, whether state or federal jurisdiction. Since this case contains three different states, the federal court system must be the one to hear the case. In this case, minimum contacts must be determined to decide if a certain state will have power to assert personal jurisdiction over a defendant from another state (Kubasek). In this case, it must be decided if New York will take personal jurisdiction of the defendants residing in California, or Novelty Now residing in Florida. Alternative dispute resolution may be an option to resolve this case. ADR is a method of resolving cases through methods other than court. These can be negotiation, mediation, arbitration, mini trials, private trials, etc. (Kubasek). In this case, negotiation outside of trial would be a good option for Funny Face. ADR is often cheaper than a traditional trial as well. This way they would not have to face bad publicity for this incident. This might also be a good idea for Mr. Margolin because the case will go much faster, meaning he could get restitution much faster, and would cut his legal costs as well. Language on the Funny Face website appears to limit any claim filed to arbitration as a means of resolving the dispute. Arbitration is a method of resolution to a case by choosing a neutral third party outside a judicial setting (Kubasek). Arbitration would be a good solution for both Mr. Margolin and Funny Face in this case. Mr. Margolin would be able to explain his condition and provide medical evidence stating that Funny Face was indeed the cause of his condition. However, a neutral third party may believe that there was enough stated by Funny Face for Mr. Margolin to have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Ducati Group s Strategic Plan Before to Ducati s acquisition by Texas Pacific Group, a deep financial crisis affected Ducati, undermining its production and consequently negatively affecting its market results. Production was less than production capacity and therefore it was clear that a relaunch of the company was necessary. The strategic plan carried out by Ducati Group, with the help of newly appointed Minoli, focused on the idea of increasing the company s value through a growth in turnover volume and protection of product profit margins. One of the most interesting aspects of the changes embraced by the Ducati, is the restructuring of the production system which began in the mid 1990s in order to maintain the product margin and increase the level of sales and turnover. First, the aspiring team started off the transformation of Ducati s strategic plan by creating what was called the World of Ducati , to support and develop the brand. This started with the decision to build a museum, in order to show that Ducati was more than a motorcycle company; Ducati was a dream and a passion. Through this Ducati was able to ...
