Advantages Of Robots
What are the advantages of having robots in our lives? Today, some of the most boring and
repetitive jobs in manufacturing are done by robots. The military and police use robots for
dangerous jobs, such as manipulating explosive devices. Robots are used in inaccessible places,
such as exploring our solar system or the bottom of the sea. Robots also appear in entertainment,
research, medicine, and education. Mankind is only beginning to see the use and value of robotics.
With a great emphasis being placed on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in our
education system, robotics play an important part in motivating and exciting students about these
subjects. Robotics involve multiple types of design: physical design of structures and mechanisms
that building a creation using construction materials, motors, and gears, as well as computational
design of writing a computer program to determine how a creation should move and respond.

A revolute or rotary joint is capable of rotation but not extension. A simple hinge joint is an
example, as is a lazy susan. A prismatic joint is capable of a sliding motion, but not rotation. A
drawer slide is a type of prismatic joint. Robotic arms are often divided into four types depending
upon the shape of the space that the arm can reach. This space is called the work envelope. For
the human arm, the work envelope is about three fourths of the inside of a sphere whose
diameter is equal to the length of the arm when fully extended. A robotic arm with the same
work envelope is said to have a revolute or articulated configuration. Revolute robotic arms have
a shoulder and an elbow. The shoulder is mounted on a rotating base (like a lazy susan ) that
allows the arm to rotate, and has a rotary hinge joint that allows the upper arm to move up and
down. The elbow of a revolute robotic arm also has a rotary joint that allows the forearm to move

The Sun Is The Only Star
The sun that sends out light to our world is not considered as sun in the evening; it is called as a
star in general because of its structure and history which most of the stars in the universe similarly
have. The sun is a naturally giant star that contains many elements, and magnetically sucks
everything that is close by into its body. Moreover, this almost spherical star, along with its strong
gravity, consists of the fire and lava that are made from the elements, burns and melts down all of
the small meteorites that pass by. The sunis seen to be dangerous as described, but helpful for our
planet. It brings the warmness and light to our lives, and which daytime exists, humans and
creatures start working and smiling with happiness and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I tried look straight to the sun just for a few seconds. The outcome turned out that I was color
blind for a while. If I have starred at the sun for a minute, I would be blind for life. Another bad
example, that the atmosphere does not protect us from the sun, is our skins. The sun made every
uncovered parts of my body turn darker. When this happened, it took me months to recover my
uncovered skin to have the same color with the covered skin. I do not try to be offensive about the
protection of the atmosphere from the sun, but this is the true. The sun is dangerous, yet it also can
be very helpful and effective to our lives.
The sun allows species, such as human being, on earth to live until they are old enough to leave
and say goodbye to the material world. There is nothing that can replace the sun that is always
helping our lives and planet out of death and extinction. Other stars, indeed, have the same
function as our sun does, but they are too far away from our planet. They are just little dots that
appear during night time to make sky look pretty and fancy. Although our sun is better than other
stars at bringing light and warmness to us, it does not help us at all in the evening because it is in
the opposite side of the earth. What makes the sun disappear at one side of the earth at night and
appear at and shines the other side? That is caused by the spinning movement of our earth. Adding
to that, our

The World s First Army
Assyrian War Techniques
Assyria s humble beginnings originated in a small trading community in the city of Ashur, in
modern day Iraq. Nestled on the banks of the Tigris River with access to merchants, trade, and
agricultural stability Ashur was named and supposedly founded by Noah s son after the Great
Flood. It was here that Assyria started its branching of power and influence to spread its
conquests as far south as Egypt and as far east as Asia Minor. The Assyrian Army, along with its
numerous rulers became the greatest empire in the world at the time. Before the Greek and Roman
Empires dominated the region, Assyrians were the most ruthless and feared people with their
skilled war tactics. Known as the world s first army , the Assyrian ... Show more content on

Several kings of the Assyria empire, such as Tiglath Pileser III, Shalmaneser V,Sargon II,
Sennacherib, and Esarhaddon, are mentioned a number of times throughout the Bible as nemeses
of the Israelites.. (Mark). The cuneiforms from the Assyrians and the books from the Bible differ
greatly in their telling of these stories of the kings and their encounters, especially Sennacherib s
writings regarding Judah s conquests verses the chronicles from book of Isaiah 37.
The various war tactics of the Assyrian army received many historic mentions as being perverse,
cruel and barbaric. However, throughout history these same tactics have been repeated and
effective in almost every major military esque nation since. This leads one to ponder if they were
setting the bar or establishing a recipe for future failures.
A commonality of the tactics in battle from the Assyrian army was to storm a village or society
with all their might and force and leave it burning to the ground, taking whatever spoils suited
them. This displayed a message to the slaves whom they captured to share with other neighboring
civilizations to not fight back or defend their region. In one story recounted by Ashur Nasir Pal II,
who made a habit of deporting people from their native homelands and sending them to random
regions throughout the empire

Steroids In The Sports Industry
With the size of the fitness world, does it mislead members to both unbeneficial and monetary
waste? In 2015 the global health club industry was worth 81.2 billion dollars and this begs the
question of whether the clubs really help and keep a majority of their members working towards
a beneficial result. According to statista.com there over a 150 million members to the 187,000
clubs worldwide. Around the world there are over 2 billion people that are considered obese and
that is over 30% of the world s population. This is why the fitness and health industry is such a

Miss Brill Illusion Vs Reality
The mind creates a world of illusion, by changing our thoughts; we change the illusion, and
experience a different reality. If we say that a real thing is something that always exists, with no
gaps, then the outside world is not real. Katherine Mansfield captures the theme of illusion vs.
reality in her short storyMiss Brill the main character Miss Brill is fascinated with the surprise of
having an almond in her honey cake. The almond symbolizes how Miss Brill sees herself in
society as the honey cake represents the people. The way Miss Brill tries to fit in, the loneliness
she endures and analyzing the ending of the story shows how her imagination has taken the best of
her.

In her fantasy world Miss Brill enjoys a feeling of superiority (Parquette, 1952) as her illusions
takes the best of her as she believes she is a actress and that everyone around her is in this play.
These flat statements leave little doubt that for the spinster the drama of the park is a fact. She feels
that all the strangers, herself included, will sing harmoniously, and that through...from reality
(Thorpe, 1962). With herself being the almond and those around her being the honey cake, the
emotion she feels when going to the bakery and noticing an almond in her honey cake means that
she believes she is suited for the role of those at the park. Although in reality she is a lonely
English teacher, she puts her profession and her emotions aside to live up to the lavish upscale life
of those surrounding her.
Miss Brill doesn t see herself as being lonely; she merely just wants to be apart of something that
can bring an adventure. The illusions she makes are caused by feeling alienated to the world,
throughout the story she is mostly just watching people instead of interacting with them. This can
be her way of probably feeling sad when she doesn t see an almond in her honey cake, as she is
disconnected to the people around her. Her weekly routine is to shadow her true feelings within

Rhetorical Analysis Of Food Inc
Have you ever been in a rush, low on cash, and looking for something to eat so you didn t really
have a choice but to grab a burger with fries at your local fast food place? Have you ever paused or
stopped to think about where the burger really came from, or the process that went in to be made?
The FoodInc documentary investigates and exposes the American industrial production of meat,
grains, and vegetables. Robert Kenner the producer of the film makes allegations in this film and
he explores how food industries are deliberately hiding how and where it is our food is coming
from. He emphasizes that we should find out where our food comes from and why is it that the
food industrydoes not want us to know. Food Inc. does not only uses compelling images, such as
hundreds of baby chickens being raised in spaces where they do not see an inch of sunlight, it also
includes the speeches and stories of farmers, families, government officials, and victims of the food
industry. The four current problems facing today s food industry are the reformed usage of the false
advertisement within the labeling of products , mistreatment of farmed animals, and the harmful
chemical in our meats. The documentary Food Inc uses very persuasive tactics that demonstrates
strong elements of pathos, ethos, and logos make an effective appeal, while uncovering the dark
side of the food industry.

Algonquin Myth Of Michabo Analysis
When you hear the word myth , your immediate intellect may go to a story that is fake or made
up . While that is partially true, myths are generally traditional tales that primarily revolve around
specific people and religious beliefs. The most prevailing myths that orbit around today s standards
are creation myths. Basically, they are theories about how humanity emerged and how the world
was created. As I read Greek Creation and The Algonquin Myth of Michabo , I perceived that they
are both obviously very distinctive from each other, but in a way they share the same idea or
interpretation about how the world and humanity was formed. When analyzing both of the text, I
realized that the Greek Creation Myth and the Algonquin Myth of

when I decided I would choose this as my written task topic.
What is a utopia actually? A utopia by definition means a perfect world with no flaws where
everyone lives a perfect life. In the book The Giver people discuss whether it s a utopian setting or
a dystopian setting. A dystopiais the exact opposite of utopia. A world that is imperfect with flaws.
Basically, the world we live in. We live with war and pain and with a political system full of flaws.

Limitations Of Racist Speech
Limits on Racist Speech in Public Contexts
When the first amendment is brought up, one of the first things that comes to mind is free
speech. Even though we don t give it much thought, our free speech does have limits. The more
obvious limits such as knowing that you can t threaten people or shout Fire! in a crowded space
make sense because it s easy to see how they cause direct harm. These general limits are important
in order to ensure a safe and peaceful society, but when it comes to voicing prejudice views, it
becomes difficult to determine what should and should not be restricted by the first amendment.
After all, when negative and hurtful opinions are directed at a specific group of people, it becomes
hard to see how protecting them could be a good thing. The important thing to remember is that
when sharing these views becomes harmful and leads to harassment, it is no longer protected under
the first amendment. However, everyone sees things differently, so drawing the line between
what is just offensive and harassment needs to be determined and treated on a case by case basis.
This will not only allow us to come to a solution for these individual problems, but it leaves room
for discussion which will help to combat the root cause of prejudice.
While trying to think of ways to regulate racist speech, we might think that an easy solution
would be to place a ban on racist speech altogether, but this quickly becomes problematic.
Banning specific opinions and beliefs would no longer make our speech free, and even when
people are permitted to share wrong or offensive opinions, protecting free speech still has more
potential benefit than harm. This gives us the right to speak out against our government when it is
doing something we disagree with, but it also allows people to share their racist views. If we want
to continue to reap the benefits, we also have to accept that racist speech is a part of free speech,
thus protected under the first amendment. This is not the same thing as saying that racist speech
should be unregulated; there are regulations for when hate speech becomes harmful, but the
government shouldn t and isn t responsible for regulating it. The issue of regulating racist speech is
a local

his grandmother and the difficulty for her to assimilate in this new strange place full of gringos

She is afraid of trying something new, therefore, she keeps returning to La Sorpresita, which was

comment shows how close they became through the ordeal, and her actions and feelings that

Persuasive Essay On Fire Vivals
It s the New Year season again and fireworks displays are everywhere. BBC reported that some
10,000 fireworks lit up the sky around the London Eye, welcoming 2018. Fireworks displays are,
perhaps inarguably, a beautiful way to light up the skies in anticipation for the new year but for
birds, it s nothing short of a terror attack.
Forbes contributor GrrlScientist wrote in 2015 about how panic stricken birds reached altitudes of
500 meters, flying en masse as they flee from the flashing lights and crashing explosions of
fireworks.
Judy Shamoun Baranes, a researcher on the en masse fleeing of birds due to New Years Eve
fireworks, compared the panic stricken birds flight altitudes to those observed from migrating birds.
Like humans, birds cannot see very well in the dark, GrrlScientist wrote. [Panicked] wild birds will
crash into power lines, automobiles, buildings, trees, and even each other, especially on cloudy or
moonless nights.
Comparing it to humans in a stampede, GrrlScientist reported that mid air bird collisions can result
in serious injuries or death because they would fall from the sky upon impact, rendering an
otherwise survivable injury into death.
In the 2011 New Year s Eve, more than 5,000 red winged blackbirds rained down on Beebe,
Arkansas. The New York Times reported that preliminary lab results from the Arkansas Livestock
and Poultry Commission revealed acute physical trauma in the dead birds, prompting
conservationists to theorize

How The Diaspora Helped Violence Essay
How the Diaspora helped Violence Having established the motives for the Diaspora aiding the
nationalist, now it needs to be analyzed what the diaspora actually did to aid the nationalist
movement. The aid can be broken down into three categories, financial, political and physical
aid. The first and the biggest being financial aid and this type of aid was collected by members
of the Irish Diaspora in the US then given to various different nationalist groups. Seldom was the
money given to violent groups like the IRA but instead was given to other groups and in turn led
to the purchasing of arms or goods and stuff like that which the IRA could use. One of the major
organizations that did this was Noraid or Irish Northern Aid. The true purpose of Noraid dealt
with arms smuggling and fund raising and thus were closely aligned and allied with the
IRA(Brian Hanley 2004:1). The support for Noraid in terms of funding can be tracked in the
same exact way that the general diasporatic support can be tracked. The hunger strikes of 1980
81, in which IRA prisoners staged a hunger strike to protest conditions in their prison in which a
few of them died, was monumental in the history of Noraid because it led to not only an increase
of donation which in turn were given to IRA and groups like it but it also changed the image of
Noraid in the US. It led to an increase in membership and made the organization less radical which
meant that it year by year would have generally more memberships and

Internet Privacy In Blown To Bits
In the fifth section of the book Blown to Bits , the author talks about and explains data
encryption, and how to defend data from people who are spying on it on the internet. The first part
of the chapter mentions an example of legislation that was after the attack on the World Trade
Center on September 11th. Senator Judd Gregg had the idea that all encryption agencies had to
give access to their encryption data so that their information can be seen and tracked. The idea was
accepted and turned out to be a success after the publishing of the Patriot Act.
To understand encryption, you must place yourself into the internet of the 90 s. At the time the
internet was still new, all the data could be seen and accessed easily. The problem was that anyone
could access your information and read it. This was a major issue because at that time, internet
privacy was almost impossible. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

My Thoughts On What Culture Truly Essay
My thoughts on what culture truly is have changed tremendously after taking Intro to Sociology.
My thinking of my own and others has changed since my first PVR 1. In my first PVR, I
included pictures of two sweatshirts which represented my volleyball team and my current school,
a cross, a box of Macaroni and Cheese, tennis shoes, a picture of my family, an EOS chap stick,
and sunglasses. The way I look at my culturenow is completely different. Now, I do not use items
at all to define my culture. Objects have nothing to do with it. When I began this semester, I
thought of culture as being where someone was born, their ethnicity, their language, and maybe
even what they do for a living. Although I believe these may still be a part of a culture, they are
not the most important aspect of what culture is. Culture is who we are. Culture is our family,
our friends, our values, where we are born, the activities we decide to be a part of, what we
decide to do in difficult situation, it is who we are. Culture is not taught, it is who we become.
This is exactly what my picture conveys. We learn through experience who we are and therefore,
what our culture is. I thought my culture was just my family and things I enjoyed doing. Then I
thought it was thinking about nature and the people who are important to me. I now realize it is
all of that together. It is learning one thing at a time. I will continue to realize more and more what
my culture is the more I dive into research. I ve

Keep in mind that the benefits all depend on the situation. When employees are motivated to work,
productivity is high. According to IBM, employees are more comfortable with their personal

Summary Of Militia Myths By James Wood
Militia Myths: Ideas of the Canadian citizen soldier, by James Wood, is a book that details the
development of the Canadian militia and the role of citizen soldiers from 1896 to 1921. Canada
was in a state in 1896 where the country was expanding politically and industrially; while
attempting to avoid European militarism. Sadly, the book shows that the ideology made its way to

double from 1904 1908, with large reason being the advancement of Permanent Forces in 1905, as
well as expansion of militia regiments over the country. Borden wanted to prepare for the worst,

Analysis Of A Wall Of Fire Rising
What is Our Purpose on Earth?
A Wall of Fire Rising is a wonderful book written by Edwidge Danticat. Edwidge was born in
Haiti in 1969. She s written three plays and seven novels. In the Wall of Fire Rising theirs three
main characters which are little guy, Guy, and Lili. Now little guy starts preparing for the play he
was going to be in, which has some lines which seem to always get to his father Guy. Why did Guy
get into the air balloon and jump out? Maybe he thought he d survive and was willing to take a
chance. It could also be that it was his only way to feel something more then he felt for a long time.
Guy was so worried about little guy doing the play and remembering his lines. In the story it
says, Guy struggled with the letters of the slave revolutionary s name as he looked over his son
s shoulders, I see some very hard words here, son ( Danticat 149). Why was he being so hard on
little guy about the speech ? Saying things like very hard words here ,like his son was incapable
of learning his lines or was it deeper (Danticat 149). Boy recites his lines, A wall of fire rising
and in the ashes, I see the bones... (Danticat 149). The lines left Lili and Guy both with a strange
feeling it says( Danticat 149). Since boy read his first lines Guy wouldn t let him read them again.
He d say things like We have heard them, Guy said, Don t tire your lips (Danticat 151). Why didn t
guy want to hear them again? What was the effect it had on him?

To determine the opportunity cost of capital, Marriott required three inputs: debt capacity, debt
cost, and equity cost consistent with the amount of debt. The cost of capital depends on each
division. In fact the evaluation of the WACC is an appropriate tool to calculate the cost of
capital for the corporation as a whole and for each division. The cost of equity One of the two
major component of WACC is the cost of equity. The cost of equity model takes into account
three values which we must calculate a risk free rate (rf), risk premium rate (expected market
return rf), and Beta Value. Before doing the calculations, we will justify our choices. We based it
on the Stocks, Bonds, Bills and Inflation (SBBI). This workmanship is a standard reference
source for business appraisers. It has been published annually since 1983. The beta value As it is
said in the case, we already know the equity beta (0,97). But the capital structure (leverage)
affects beta estimates. In order to eliminate the effect of leverage, we will calculate the asset beta,
which reflects the sensitivity of the firm s assets abstracting from capital structure. That is why
we have to convert the equity beta into the asset beta. Then we can calculate the equity beta
without the leverage effect. To calculate the asset beta, we need the current debt value. The ratio
D/V for the company is set at 41% so we can find the ratio E/V is set at 59%. It comes from the

Kapiolani one of Hawaii s greatest queens because this show the amount of time effort she puts
into helping Hawaii. She is not only to create chants for Hawaii, but she also was able to build
monuments like the Iolani Palace.
If creating historical chants and having good morals was not enough, Queen Kapiolani also

P Vulgaris Lab Report
After precisely conducting the experiment and tabulating the results, data for Paraquat toxicity
upon P. vulgaris plants can be interpreted over several different parameters. The parameters by
which Paraquat toxicity was examined within this experiment involve visual observations, x ray
diffraction, chlorophyll concentrations, protein concentrations, and lastly malondialdehyde (MDA)
concentrations on a per mg of protein basis. As stated before Paraquat is very widely used
herbicide known to produce superoxide anions leading to chloroplast membrane damage and
ultimately a variety of adverse effects upon the host organism, in this case P. vulgaris (Chia et al.,

vulgaris plants, via the formation of a standard curve prepared using varying concentrations of
bovine serum albumin (BSA) solution. Following absorbance readings of the various BSA
solutions, they were plotted against their concentrations providing an indirect measure for
determining protein concentrations of the plant samples within the assay tubes, and through further
calculations the sample protein concentration. The mean protein concentration for the control group
was calculated to be 3.34 В± 1.30 mg/mL, while the mean treated group concentration was 2.01 В±
1.26 mg/mL. These results similarly like the chlorophyll results correlate with the literature articles,
as a reduced protein content within the Paraquat treated plants can be expected to some extent
(Chia et al., 1981). This reduction in protein concentration is the result of those superoxide anions
produced by Paraquat, disrupting the chloroplast membranes and allowing for intracellular
components including some proteins to leak out, hence the decrease in protein concentration in
comparison to the non treated plants (Qian et al., 2009). A slight outlier may exist within the
treated groups protein concentrations as one of the groups provided a negative value for protein
concentration which is not valid, but even after exclusion of that data value, results are still
supportive of the expected outcome. Though these results support the claim of Paraquat toxicity
causing membrane deterioration and leakiness, protein concentration values are rather more
purposeful when used to analyze malondialdehyde (MDA) values on per mg of protein

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Scupin, (2003) went further to argue that Ibn Massa oud, May Allah be pleased with him, alleged
that the luminosity of God s Face lights (gives luminosity to) the Throne everlastingly. As He lives
higher than the Universe and their astrophysical systems, the incident of day or night does not live,
and there is no requisite for any luminosity above and beyond His Luminosity, honor to Him in His
Highness. The Luminosity is in a glass (container) (as the glass container brightens the luminosity,
like the electric bulb in our time does). The glass (container) is similar to a brilliant earth (as a
result of having the lamp luminosity inside it).
(The luminosity of the lamp) is fashioned by fire commencing a sacred olive tree (oil), (The olive
tree has been honored by being talked about in the Holy Quran, as in this Verse and in Surat Al

oil for food preparation, illumination, messaging skin, and nourishing hair roots. Its beans are also
tasty after processing. Finally, the bean seeds are used as wood for food preparation and heating
purposes).
Which is neither of the east nor of the west, (which is in the middle of the olive grove but in a
clear distance from all other trees, so it can receive the sun luminosity all day, thus enabling it to
produce the best and brightest oil?

Lady Macbeth s Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
After the tenth anniversary of Lady Macbeth s passing, a secret interview revealing her struggles
with mental health has surfaced. Most people are familiar with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,
and in modern society the warped perception of what it really means to have OCD continues to
undermine the severity of the disorder. OCD is recognizing as a chronic disorder where a person
has uncontrollable obsession s, reoccurring thoughts and compulsions. These compulsions are
almost always the product of some kind of fear, allowing the mind to obsess to an extreme extent.
These compulsions are different for everyone, and are sometimes temporary. New sources revealed
to us recently that Lady Macbeth may have suffered from OCD and was a major contributor... Show

Villain to others General Macbeth, who ruled Scotland as a dictator for 17 years, is now dead.
Notorious for working his way to the top through bloodshed, King Duncan s murder was only
the beginning. Macbeth was ruthless in eliminating his political opponents in Scotland, and was
ultimately recognized as the responsible party for the murder of many high profile individuals.
Macbeth s fame derives from his success as a disciplined and loyal soldier, even if other army
officers began grumbling about Scotland s naive ruler. Until three sisters predicted his future of
royalty the thought of corruption never seemed to cross his mind. Macduff s cousin, Ross,
recalled former King Duncan s views in regards to Macbeth. He described the king s mentality
towards Macbeth as hath happily received...Thy personal venture in the rebels fight, he wonders
and his praises do contend Which should be thine or his. Nothing afeard of what thyself didst
make, Strange images of death. As thick as tale Can post with post, and everyone did bear Thy
praise in his kingdom s great defense, And poured them down before him (1.3.90 100). As soon
as Macbeth heard the intentions behind King Duncan s praise, he felt the reality of the prophecy
settling in and finally agreed to follow his wife s advice and expedite his path to the throne. Yet,
will all his horrors some still saw him as brave Macbeth thy nature, it is too full o th milk of
human kindness (1.2.18, 1.5.3 4). Yet in the end, hero or not, Macbeth represents what happens if
we let some of our fundamental traits control our lives. Macbeth s regime has left us with many
questions regarding; power, politics and morality, giving us a reason to continue using his name
long after his

Pathological Processes Help Distinguish Medical Conditions
Pathophysiology Assessment 2: Case based assignment
Pathological processes help distinguish medical conditions through the use of a variety methods to
assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Mr Johns, a 60 year old male has exhibited to his
doctor a number of symptoms that usually coincide and are distinctive with issues relating to the
respiratory and cardiovascular systems of the body. This case based assignment will in order to
assist in the treatment of Mr Johns, assist in diagnosing his conditions by; investigating the
presenting features and its pathophysiology, analyse the results and importance of vital signs,
physical inspection and blood tests, construct a differential diagnosis signifying likely conditions
the patient may be experiencing , and finally providing a justification for further diagnostic tests.
Signs and Symptoms
One of the chief complaints Mr Johns presents is shortness of breath, also known as dyspnoea
whilst he is resting. Breathlessness is a multidimensional and subjective experience of difficulty or
uncomfortable breathing originating from an intricate interaction between physiological and
psychological factors (Yorke 2014). Mr Johns presents a respiration rate of 28 breaths per minute,
which is peculiarly elevated, and is specified as tachypnoea. Tachypnoea signifies that a greater
volume of oxygen is needed to supply components of the body, or to recompense for limited supply
in bodily systems where there has been a restriction of

Criminal Psychopaths
Psychopaths are social burdens Individuals with psychopathic personality are characterized by a
constellation of traits, including interpersonal affective features such as superficial charm,
manipulation, lack of affect and emotion, and antisocial features such as impulsivity and
aggression. (Gao, 2011). These traits in turn have been linked to a disregard for laws and social
mores, a disregard for the right of others, a failure to feel remorse or guilt and a tendency to display
violent behavior (Kennedy, 1954). Furthermore, their interpersonal behavior has been described as
selfish, dominant, manipulative, and superficial; showing a lack of responsibility within
relationships; and inability to form long lasting bonds. Psychopaths are described... Show more

. These personality changes in these patients are similar to the changes found in psychopaths.
Antoni Damasio and his teams highlights this similarity as they were able to show a 16 percent
reduction in the volume of the right ventromedial prefrontal cortex (Raine, 148 149). This structurel
impairment to the ventral region of the prefrontal cortex is particularly implicated in antisocial,
psychopathic behavior (Raine pg 148 149]). Antonio Damasio was also able to associate this
deformation in the ventral prefrontal cortex with an array of deficits in emotion and decision
making, lack of guilt, shame and empathy, poor planning, irresponsibility, and irritability.
Experimental studies were able to reveal that both neurological damaged patients and psychopaths
exhibited reduced emotional charged stimuli, defects in economic decision making skills, deficits
in reversal learning and moral judgment impairment (Koenigs, 2012). Blair s research also supports
these findings as he was able to prove his argument that the integrated functioning of the vmPFC
enables the basics of care based morality and dysfunction within the region in psychopathy means
that reinforcement based decision making, including moral and economic decision making, are

A Report On My Mortar Platoon
It was a rainy morning in mid October. My mortar platoon was able to do a week s worth of
dismounted patrols tasked with clearing compounds of interest of IED factories, weapons
caches, and drug stockpiles (mainly marijuana). The patrol from the previous day ended with an
hour s worth of small arms and several IEDs. I knew that today would most likely be the same.
At around 0600 we mounted in our MRAPs and Strykers and also picked up the Sappers and
EOD. Before leaving FOB Zangabad we linked up with the ANA that we were doing a joint patrol
with and then left our start point. We drove north on RTE Quebec and made a right onto RTE
Hyena near checkpoint 17, which was an ANA checkpoint. My convoy continued down the road for
another 500 meters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rain started to come down extremely heavy so we strong pointed inside a building for
roughly 30 minutes. As soon as we began to step off again one of the ANA shot into the sky
right next to us. We yelled at him and got him to stop but he would not tell us why he did it. The
other ANA began joking and just saying he was an idiot and we started moving again. I
remember jumping a small stream and one of the sappers fell onto his back and was rolling side
to side saying I can t get up ugh . All the ANA were pointing and laughing and so were we. We
were all having a pretty good time up until now, joking around and what not. Continuing on we
are about to leave the compound to walk alongside a mud wall that ran north and south. We turn
south and start walking down and an ANA soldier looks at me and says RPG good and shoots a
random building with his RPG. Baffled we all just keep moving forward and then one explosion
goes off. A few seconds after another. I look out just in front of me and see a potpourri of dirt,
rocks, and body parts with some hitting me in the face. Machine gun fire starts to our 11 o clock
position and more to our 2 o clock. It s about 100 200 meters away. We use the mud wall as quick
cover and start returning fire. We start taking more fire from our 1230 position and I head 4
enemy 100 meters. I started laying down whatever fire I could but ultimately I couldn t see
anyone. Every time I popped my head up a whiz went right by my head. At this point

Metamorphosis Dilemma
Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis dramatises the concept of alienation and the conflict that
arises with his employer after Gregor s metamorphosis renders him unable to work. Gregor is the
victim of a dispassionate corporate structure, and is trapped in a job which engages only a
minute portion of his personality (Robertson, 57). However, despite his bodily transformation,
Gregor remains emotionally dependent on his role within the capitalist system, rather than
recoiling in horror at the insect he has become: What a fate, to be condemned to work for a firm
where the smallest omission at once gave rise to the gravest suspicion! Were all employees in a
body nothing but scoundrels, was there not among them one single loyal devoted man
who...was so tormented by conscience...? (Kafka, 3) Gregor s dilemma is that he serves the
dual role as both a cog in a machine , and as his family s source of income, and the despair and
inconvenience of being trapped in his room heightens his vulnerability as the chief clerk arrives to
investigate the suspicous circumstance (Kafka, 3). Imprisoned by his job and father s debts,
Gregor is invalidated by the business that defines him and alienated by the insect body that has
consumed him. The constraints of Gregor s metamorphosis, as his little legs ...jiggled about
(Kafka, 3), echo the constraints of his employment, as he is severely restricted in his ability to

Preformity In Love Is A Fallacy By Max Shulman
Fallacies get the best out of all of us. Many people tend to give their own point of view on matters
that interest them. However, at times they are not credible because they do not have evidence to
support their reasoning. Max Shulman wrote a passage, Love is a Fallacy, that discusses the
stereotypes of woman. Shulman demonstrates conformity in society through the acceptance of
segregation of women and other minorities. These acts of conformity and presumptions are
conveyed through the use of fallacies. Using this passage as an example, fallacies are shown to be
used in many arguments; as a way to change the subject or get out of answering a question. In the
passage, Shulman uses different types of fallacies: ambiguity, presumption, and relevance. Shulman
uses fallacies of ambiguity in his passage to give multiple interpretations of his message to the
audience. An example of equivocation stated in the passage is, Beautiful she was. She was not yet
of pin up proportions, but I felt sure that time would supply the lack. (Shulman 382). This is an
example of equivocation because there are many propositions that leads to the final statement.
However, the propositions being made do not make sense in the final claim. The narrator states that
Polly is beautiful, but he uses deceptive language to hide that he thinks that she is truly not perfect
yet. Fallacyof composition is another example used in the passage, It is, after all , easier to make a
beautiful dumb girl smart than

360 Degree Photography Affordances and Constraints
Media has changed vastly over the decades. We have different styles of media, different ways to
view media, and so many different options when it comes to creating media. A recent technology
that has started to gain traction is 360 degree photography. This new technology allows people to
view more than traditional 2 D perspective. With this new way of being able to capture a scene
comes many affordances and constraints.
Being able to capture everything around you, then allow another person to experience entirely the
same scene is something that has never been able to be done before. The technology for 360
degree photography is most likely early in its development. That being ... Show more content on

Having devices that allow us to put on a headpiece and be put into another reality is a huge step for
media.
With these devices, unfortunately, come many constraints. The content creator has more options
for what the viewer can see, but at the same time it may not be what they want the viewer to see.
In most forms of media today there is a main point that the viewer is observing. 2 D perspective
video creators are able to change perspectives of how the viewer sees the media, but with 360
degrees the viewer may not see it in the same way the original creator intended. The viewer may
even miss main points entirely because they were looking around and the main point of a video was
behind them. On top of this the viewer may not even be able to watch the video. Many people
report nausea when watching videos in 360 degrees. If there is not a way to ensure people do
not feel sick while watching the videos, that means that this media will be limited by the
number of people who are able to tolerate it. Being able to create the quality of content that is
currently available on 2 D platforms may be difficult could also be an issue. Movie shoots
require a lot of people and equipment, which is all behind the camera when only shooting one
perspective. In a 360 movie you have to make sure you are capturing the things you want and
nothing more. There is most likely going to be more work creating

What Is The Theme Of A Poem For My Brother

With tearful eyes and a caring heart, I watched you fade away. I still ask myself why did you have

my heart, You told me to be brave, You told me to be smart. You told me God was taking you
home, You said that you would not be alone, But soon you would be gone. But it was all a

Why didn t you get to say goodbye. And you hang your head down and cry. Untitled Down in the

Bdsm Norms
BDSM gatherings serve to connect like minded individuals for play parties, or more casual meet
ups, referred to as munches. There is a vast difference between the two, and expectations and
standards for behavior vary for play parties much more than at munches. Those wondering where
to find BDSM events often find information specific to their area by doing an online search for
local BDSM parties or consulting FetLife online to browse calendars. FetLife is also a great
connection for BDSM singles ads and an online social connection for both veterans and BDSM

Those who are well versed in BDSM, but not at the play party level, must remember that some
rules limit Dom/sub interaction in the areas of fire play, piercing and blood play. ## BDSM
Play Party Etiquette Believing that all parties are enhanced by an *anything goes* attitude is
completely false. Everything taking place is agreed upon, and safe words are utilized to ensure
boundaries are not crossed. All parties adhere to a strict set of rules, and rules do differ, but there
are a few commonalities among most: **No Drugs** Drug use is strictly prohibited under all
circumstances, and if you find yourself at a party openly permitting the use of any recreational
drug, you must ask yourself if this is a trustworthy environment. For consent to take place, all
parties must be completely coherent. **No/Limited Alcohol** Select hosts allow moderate
drinking, but drinking in excess is one of the surest ways to find oneself uninvited in the future.
This goes back to consent and how a clear head is required to fully consent to any

The military and police use robots for dangerous jobs, such as manipulating explosive devices. Robots are used in inaccessible places, such as exploring our solar system or the bottom of the sea. Robots also appear in entertainment, research, medicine, and education. Mankind is only beginning to see the use and value of robotics. With a great emphasis being placed on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in our education system, robotics play an important part in motivating and exciting students about these subjects. Robotics involve multiple types of design: physical design of structures and mechanisms that building a creation using construction materials, motors, and gears, as well as computational design of writing a computer program to determine how a creation should move and respond. A prismatic joint is capable of a sliding motion, but not rotation. A drawer slide is a type of prismatic joint. Robotic arms are often divided into four types depending upon the shape of the space that the arm can reach. This space is called the work envelope. For the human arm, the work envelope is about three fourths of the inside of a sphere whose diameter is equal to the length of the arm when fully extended. A robotic arm with the same work envelope is said to have a revolute or articulated configuration. Revolute robotic arms have a shoulder and an elbow. The shoulder is mounted on a rotating base (like a lazy susan ) that allows the arm to rotate, and has a rotary hinge joint that allows the upper arm to move up and down. The elbow of a revolute robotic arm also has a rotary joint that allows the forearm to move up and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Sun Is The Only Star The sun that sends out light to our world is not considered as sun in the evening; it is called as a star in general because of its structure and history which most of the stars in the universe similarly have. The sun is a naturally giant star that contains many elements, and magnetically sucks everything that is close by into its body. Moreover, this almost spherical star, along with its strong gravity, consists of the fire and lava that are made from the elements, burns and melts down all of the small meteorites that pass by. The sunis seen to be dangerous as described, but helpful for our planet. It brings the warmness and light to our lives, and which daytime exists, humans and creatures start working and smiling with happiness and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I tried look straight to the sun just for a few seconds. The outcome turned out that I was color blind for a while. If I have starred at the sun for a minute, I would be blind for life. Another bad example, that the atmosphere does not protect us from the sun, is our skins. The sun made every uncovered parts of my body turn darker. When this happened, it took me months to recover my uncovered skin to have the same color with the covered skin. I do not try to be offensive about the protection of the atmosphere from the sun, but this is the true. The sun is dangerous, yet it also can be very helpful and effective to our lives. The sun allows species, such as human being, on earth to live until they are old enough to leave and say goodbye to the material world. There is nothing that can replace the sun that is always helping our lives and planet out of death and extinction. Other stars, indeed, have the same function as our sun does, but they are too far away from our planet. They are just little dots that appear during night time to make sky look pretty and fancy. Although our sun is better than other stars at bringing light and warmness to us, it does not help us at all in the evening because it is in the opposite side of the earth. What makes the sun disappear at one side of the earth at night and appear at and shines the other side? That is caused by the spinning movement of our earth. Adding to that, our ... Nestled on the banks of the Tigris River with access to merchants, trade, and agricultural stability Ashur was named and supposedly founded by Noah s son after the Great Flood. It was here that Assyria started its branching of power and influence to spread its conquests as far south as Egypt and as far east as Asia Minor. The Assyrian Army, along with its numerous rulers became the greatest empire in the world at the time. Several kings of the Assyria empire, such as Tiglath Pileser III, Shalmaneser V,Sargon II, Sennacherib, and Esarhaddon, are mentioned a number of times throughout the Bible as nemeses of the Israelites.. (Mark). The cuneiforms from the Assyrians and the books from the Bible differ greatly in their telling of these stories of the kings and their encounters, especially Sennacherib s writings regarding Judah s conquests verses the chronicles from book of Isaiah 37. The various war tactics of the Assyrian army received many historic mentions as being perverse, cruel and barbaric. However, throughout history these same tactics have been repeated and effective in almost every major military esque nation since. This leads one to ponder if they were setting the bar or establishing a recipe for future failures. A commonality of the tactics in battle from the Assyrian army was to storm a village or society with all their might and force and leave it burning to the ground, taking whatever spoils suited them. This displayed a message to the slaves whom they captured to share with other neighboring civilizations to not fight back or defend their region. In one story recounted by Ashur Nasir Pal II, who made a habit of deporting people from their native homelands and sending them to random regions throughout the empire ... If we say that a real thing is something that always exists, with no gaps, then the outside world is not real. Katherine Mansfield captures the theme of illusion vs. reality in her short storyMiss Brill the main character Miss Brill is fascinated with the surprise of having an almond in her honey cake. The almond symbolizes how Miss Brill sees herself in society as the honey cake represents the people. With herself being the almond and those around her being the honey cake, the emotion she feels when going to the bakery and noticing an almond in her honey cake means that she believes she is suited for the role of those at the park. While that is partially true, myths are generally traditional tales that primarily revolve around specific people and religious beliefs. The most prevailing myths that orbit around today s standards are creation myths. Basically, they are theories about how humanity emerged and how the world was created. As I read Greek Creation and The Algonquin Myth of Michabo , I perceived that they are both obviously very distinctive from each other, but in a way they share the same idea or interpretation about how the world and humanity was formed. What is a utopia actually? A utopia by definition means a perfect world with no flaws where everyone lives a perfect life. In the book The Giver people discuss whether it s a utopian setting or a dystopian setting. A dystopiais the exact opposite of utopia. A world that is imperfect with flaws. • 17. Limitations Of Racist Speech Limits on Racist Speech in Public Contexts When the first amendment is brought up, one of the first things that comes to mind is free speech. Even though we don t give it much thought, our free speech does have limits. The more obvious limits such as knowing that you can t threaten people or shout Fire! in a crowded space make sense because it s easy to see how they cause direct harm. These general limits are important in order to ensure a safe and peaceful society, but when it comes to voicing prejudice views, it becomes difficult to determine what should and should not be restricted by the first amendment. After all, when negative and hurtful opinions are directed at a specific group of people, it becomes hard to see how protecting them could be a good thing. The important thing to remember is that when sharing these views becomes harmful and leads to harassment, it is no longer protected under the first amendment. However, everyone sees things differently, so drawing the line between what is just offensive and harassment needs to be determined and treated on a case by case basis. This will not only allow us to come to a solution for these individual problems, but it leaves room for discussion which will help to combat the root cause of prejudice. While trying to think of ways to regulate racist speech, we might think that an easy solution would be to place a ban on racist speech altogether, but this quickly becomes problematic. Banning specific opinions and beliefs would no longer make our speech free, and even when people are permitted to share wrong or offensive opinions, protecting free speech still has more potential benefit than harm. This gives us the right to speak out against our government when it is doing something we disagree with, but it also allows people to share their racist views. If we want to continue to reap the benefits, we also have to accept that racist speech is a part of free speech, thus protected under the first amendment. This is not the same thing as saying that racist speech should be unregulated; there are regulations for when hate speech becomes harmful, but the government shouldn t and isn t responsible for regulating it. The issue of regulating racist speech is a local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

BBC reported that some 10,000 fireworks lit up the sky around the London Eye, welcoming 2018. Fireworks displays are, perhaps inarguably, a beautiful way to light up the skies in anticipation for the new year but for birds, it s nothing short of a terror attack. Forbes contributor GrrlScientist wrote in 2015 about how panic stricken birds reached altitudes of 500 meters, flying en masse as they flee from the flashing lights and crashing explosions of fireworks. Judy Shamoun Baranes, a researcher on the en masse fleeing of birds due to New Years Eve fireworks, compared the panic stricken birds flight altitudes to those observed from migrating birds. Like humans, birds cannot see very well in the dark, GrrlScientist wrote. [Panicked] wild birds will crash into power lines, automobiles, buildings, trees, and even each other, especially on cloudy or moonless nights. Comparing it to humans in a stampede, GrrlScientist reported that mid air bird collisions can result in serious injuries or death because they would fall from the sky upon impact, rendering an otherwise survivable injury into death. In the 2011 New Year s Eve, more than 5,000 red winged blackbirds rained down on Beebe, Arkansas. • 22. How The Diaspora Helped Violence Essay How the Diaspora helped Violence Having established the motives for the Diaspora aiding the nationalist, now it needs to be analyzed what the diaspora actually did to aid the nationalist movement. The aid can be broken down into three categories, financial, political and physical aid. The first and the biggest being financial aid and this type of aid was collected by members of the Irish Diaspora in the US then given to various different nationalist groups. Seldom was the money given to violent groups like the IRA but instead was given to other groups and in turn led to the purchasing of arms or goods and stuff like that which the IRA could use. One of the major organizations that did this was Noraid or Irish Northern Aid. The true purpose of Noraid dealt with arms smuggling and fund raising and thus were closely aligned and allied with the IRA(Brian Hanley 2004:1). The support for Noraid in terms of funding can be tracked in the same exact way that the general diasporatic support can be tracked. The hunger strikes of 1980 81, in which IRA prisoners staged a hunger strike to protest conditions in their prison in which a few of them died, was monumental in the history of Noraid because it led to not only an increase of donation which in turn were given to IRA and groups like it but it also changed the image of Noraid in the US. It led to an increase in membership and made the organization less radical which meant that it year by year would have generally more memberships and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Senator Judd Gregg had the idea that all encryption agencies had to give access to their encryption data so that their information can be seen and tracked. My thinking of my own and others has changed since my first PVR 1. In my first PVR, I included pictures of two sweatshirts which represented my volleyball team and my current school, a cross, a box of Macaroni and Cheese, tennis shoes, a picture of my family, an EOS chap stick, and sunglasses. The way I look at my culturenow is completely different. Now, I do not use items at all to define my culture. Objects have nothing to do with it. When I began this semester, I thought of culture as being where someone was born, their ethnicity, their language, and maybe even what they do for a living. Although I believe these may still be a part of a culture, they are not the most important aspect of what culture is. Culture is who we are. Culture is our family, our friends, our values, where we are born, the activities we decide to be a part of, what we decide to do in difficult situation, it is who we are. Culture is not taught, it is who we become. This is exactly what my picture conveys. We learn through experience who we are and therefore, what our culture is. I thought my culture was just my family and things I enjoyed doing. Then I thought it was thinking about nature and the people who are important to me. I now realize it is all of that together. It is learning one thing at a time. I will continue to realize more and more what my culture is the more I dive into research. I ve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before doing the calculations, we will justify our choices. We based it on the Stocks, Bonds, Bills and Inflation (SBBI). This workmanship is a standard reference source for business appraisers. It has been published annually since 1983. The beta value As it is said in the case, we already know the equity beta (0,97). But the capital structure (leverage) affects beta estimates. In order to eliminate the effect of leverage, we will calculate the asset beta, which reflects the sensitivity of the firm s assets abstracting from capital structure. That is why we have to convert the equity beta into the asset beta. Then we can calculate the equity beta without the leverage effect. To calculate the asset beta, we need the current debt value. The ratio D/V for the company is set at 41% so we can find the ratio E/V is set at 59%. It comes from the exhibit 3 which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. P Vulgaris Lab Report After precisely conducting the experiment and tabulating the results, data for Paraquat toxicity upon P. vulgaris plants can be interpreted over several different parameters. The parameters by which Paraquat toxicity was examined within this experiment involve visual observations, x ray diffraction, chlorophyll concentrations, protein concentrations, and lastly malondialdehyde (MDA) concentrations on a per mg of protein basis. As stated before Paraquat is very widely used herbicide known to produce superoxide anions leading to chloroplast membrane damage and ultimately a variety of adverse effects upon the host organism, in this case P. vulgaris (Chia et al., 1982). The initial signs of Paraquat toxicity were immensely noticeable... Following absorbance readings of the various BSA solutions, they were plotted against their concentrations providing an indirect measure for determining protein concentrations of the plant samples within the assay tubes, and through further calculations the sample protein concentration. The mean protein concentration for the control group was calculated to be 3.34 В± 1.30 mg/mL, while the mean treated group concentration was 2.01 В± 1.26 mg/mL. These results similarly like the chlorophyll results correlate with the literature articles, as a reduced protein content within the Paraquat treated plants can be expected to some extent (Chia et al., 1981). This reduction in protein concentration is the result of those superoxide anions produced by Paraquat, disrupting the chloroplast membranes and allowing for intracellular components including some proteins to leak out, hence the decrease in protein concentration in comparison to the non treated plants (Qian et al., 2009). A slight outlier may exist within the treated groups protein concentrations as one of the groups provided a negative value for protein concentration which is not valid, but even after exclusion of that data value, results are still supportive of the expected outcome. Though these results support the claim of Paraquat toxicity causing membrane deterioration and leakiness, protein concentration values are rather more purposeful when used to analyze malondialdehyde (MDA) values on per mg of protein ... However, at times they are not credible because they do not have evidence to support their reasoning. Max Shulman wrote a passage, Love is a Fallacy, that discusses the stereotypes of woman. Shulman demonstrates conformity in society through the acceptance of segregation of women and other minorities. These acts of conformity and presumptions are conveyed through the use of fallacies. Using this passage as an example, fallacies are shown to be used in many arguments; as a way to change the subject or get out of answering a question. In the passage, Shulman uses different types of fallacies: ambiguity, presumption, and relevance. Shulman uses fallacies of ambiguity in his passage to give multiple interpretations of his message to the audience. An example of equivocation stated in the passage is, Beautiful she was. She was not yet of pin up proportions, but I felt sure that time would supply the lack. (Shulman 382). This is an example of equivocation because there are many propositions that leads to the final statement. However, the propositions being made do not make sense in the final claim.
