where he began focusing on Christian paintings. I wanted to depict another pagan
myth, the story of Persephone the Queen of the Underworld, as this was the
subject matter I enjoyed most from Botticelli. Originally I wanted to depict the
anatomy of a goddess by creating an incision in Persephone s stomach revealing an
avocado inside, originally a pomegranate to stay in theme of the myth, as she stood

to work in pastels for this project as it most closely resembled tempra, both being
oil based. I began by emulating his style by prepping the work with an
underdrawing and painting to get the finer details, such as the hyper realistic
flowing hair that was common to his paintings of women, as well as making the
whole background pure black which was similar to his portrait paintings. After that
was complete I began laying down another layer of detailing with different vibrant
colors that I saw in his paintings such as orange, yellow, and pink. Finally I laid
down the thin base layer for the skin and hair and began smudging everything with

What is Database Management System?
Today, Database management systems play a main role in management, data
transportation, administrative and control systems. A database management system
(DBMS) is system software for creating, managing databases. A database
management system creates a systematic way for programs, apps and users to create,
retrieve, delete, update and manage data. DBMS ensure that data is consistently
organized and remains easily accessible. As a normal person we access to database
management systems every day within our personal computers, mobile phones and

There are so many advantages of using DBMS. The biggest advantage is DBMS
lets end users and application programmers access and use the same data while
managing data integrity. And data is better maintained and protected. Data can be
shared using a DBMS instead of creating new iterations of the same data stored in
new files for every new application. A central storage of data provides by a DBMS
that can be accessed by multiple users in same time in a controlled manner.
Central storage and management of data within the DBMS provides:

(Murphy 1). This quote is accredited to Mathew Carey in November, 1793. The
term scourge is defined as, a person or thing that cause great trouble of suffering,
and the term malignant is defined as, tending to produce death or deterioration.
These are very strong terms with extremely negative connotative meanings. The
figurative language which is evident in the quote at the opening of Chapter One is
personification. Carey s quote give yellow fever an eerie, human like quality when
he writes, the destroying scourge, the malignant fever, CREPT in among us
(Murphy 1). CArey s word choices and use of personification help to create a
powerful image in the reader s mind of the threat looming over the city of
Philadelphia. Murphy uses powerful sensory language that draws on the reader s
senses of sight, smell, and hearing. Three examples of visual details include: The
sun came up, as it had every day since the end of May, bright hot, and unrelenting
(Murphy 1). The swamps and marshes south of Philadelphia had already lost a
great deal of water to the intense, heat, while the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers
had receded to reveal long stretches` of their muddy, root choked banks (Murphy 1).

I agree with this statement because in the past 18 years of my life, I have survived
through dozens of apocalypses. Throughout history, new doomsday prophecies are
