Being the embodiment of the average introvert hardly lessened the pressure of becoming successful.
Growing up in a household, where I would be the first generation in my family to attend college
brought challenges of their own. It was not until freshman year of college that I realized how
problematic my shyness and introversion would be. At Monmouth University, I was fortunate enough
to be accepted in the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program along with 39 other students.
After the program had ended, I realized my reclusive personality came with a high price. During the
concluding ceremony, the student participants were recognized for their hard work and

America is recognized as a place where if you work hard enough you can become wealthy. In fact, the
U.S. has more millionaires than any other country in the world. However, for all that prosperity, the
gap between rich and poor has always been large. People have been attempting to fix this inequality
for over a century now. Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish immigrant who became the second richest man in
America by dominating the steel industry, and Terence V. Powderly, an American attorney, labor union
leader, politician, and best known as head of the Knights of Labor, were among the first to propose

The former thought that money should be in the hands of the wealthy, who were in his mind better
equipped to handle it. Carnegie also argued against the wasteful use of capital in the form of
extravagance or self indulgence, instead, promoting philanthropy. As a result, the wealthy would
administer their riches beneficially and not in a way that encourages the slothful, the drunken, the
unworthy (Carnegie). Meanwhile, Powderly argued that the masses should have the possibility of
bettering their own lives. Through the common man s access to money, Powderly believed that they
could achieve not only better living conditions, but a happier society in general, all while decreasing
the ever growing gap between the rich and the poor (Powderly). While Carnegie s idea of the wealthy
providing a better society for the underdog is appealing, Powderly s idea of a level playing field is
more realistic and should be used in order to deal with the phenomenon of wealth

Abraham Maslow Hierarchy Of Hierarchy
Abraham Maslow, who was a humanistic psychologist, argued that needs are arranged in a ladder like
steps. He proposed a rising order of needs from the level of physiological to self transcendence. The
order of needs starts from basic survival or lower order needs to higher order needs. As one level of
need is satisfied another higher order need will emerge and assume importance in life. The hierarchy

Safety needs are mainly concerned with maintaining order and security, to feel secure, safe and out of
danger. Love and Belongingness needs: These are the needs of making intimate relationship with other
members of the society. People want to become an accepted member of an organised group, need a
familiar environment such as family. These needs are dependent on the fulfilment and satisfaction of
physiological and safety needs. The Esteem needs: Esteem needs are divided into the following two
categories: (a) Needs related to respect from others like reputation, status, social success and fame.
The need of self evaluation occurs in those persons who are comfortably situated and satisfied with

The patient s diagnosis is primary overt hypothyroidism. The patient presents with certain features
such as weight gain, weakness, excessively dry flaking skin, dry hair, sluggish movements,

an elevation in serum thyroid stimulating hormone level along with low serum free thyroxin and
triiodthyronine levels, which indicates it is a dysfunction or abnormality in the thyroid gland as

Based on the levothyroxine dosing guidelines for hypothyroidism in adults, the patient s initial starting
dose would be 100 micrograms per day. The patient is instructed to take the medication once daily

patient is advised not to take calcium or iron supplements within four hours of taking levothyroxine

Portrayal Of Female Empowerment And Gender Roles Essay
In politics, power is a crucial component, and having authority over others is critical in legitimizing
that power. Women consistently lack agency and power, especially in political spheres. Fantastical
worlds, like HBO s television series Game of Thrones (GoT), portray women in roles of
empowerment, but their power is contingent on men and on their own sexuality. Despite gaining
positions in political power, women only attain that power or can only use that power in the realm of
men and masculinity. This essay argues that women in Game of Thrones, as political and non political
actors, are only powerful to the extent to which it roots from archetypical masculine characteristics
and to which it advances their storylines from a man s standpoint. To do so, I will first contrast
political power and apolitical power, namely in terms of female participation and involvement. Next, I
will examine HBO s Game of Thrones in relation to its portrayal of female empowerment and of
stereotypical gender roles. This paper will then distinguish notable Game of Thrones female characters
as political powerful and apolitically powerful actors. This paper will conclude with an analysis of
how Game of Thrones magnifies women s roles in political power while also generalizing women as
powerful only in regards to their sexuality.

Archetypal heroes play the leading role in many new and old pieces of literature. Main characters
usually exhibit characteristics that lead them to be identified as the archetypal hero. Some
characteristics of an archetypal hero are having godlike ability, being granted with magical help, and
takes upon a task that requires a long journey. Gilgamesh the main character in the Epic of Gilgamesh

and spanish. My heritage is struggle and strength. I join my strength and struggle to that of my

In its second year, Marie Claire successfully gathered 200 powerful women for a fun 36 hout trip to
San Francisco. Among the attendees were women from big companies such as Airbnb, Sephora,
Gucci, Mattel, Intel, and JetBlue among many others. The panelists included celebrities such as Taraji
P. Henson, Priyanka Chopra, and Mila Kunis who gave inspiring messages to the women. Other
