distinct features and qualities to differentiate one character from the next. The differences between
characters is what creates several of the conflicts in the novella. Curley s antagonistic character toward
people of large stature causes tension between himself and Lennie, instantly creating conflict. The
conflicts in the plot are what makes Of Mice and Men entertaining. Lennie is not conscious of some of
