Design, Analysis & Balancing of 5 Cylinder Engine CrankshaftIJMER
The crankshaft is a backbone of internal combustion engine. So the design & analysis is major
aspects to get high power transmission & efficiency. The selection of material is an important parameter
while designing any mechanical component. The material should be high strength & capacity to absorb
the shocks as well as fatigue. The material also have less wear tendency. The crankshaft should be high
torque transmitting capacity. So to achieve these objectives high carbon steel are used for design &
analysis purpose. This paper gives the idea about analysis as well as proper balancing of weights by using
these three materials. The modelling is done by using solid work software & then analysis by using ANSYS
software with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method. The 5 cylinder engine gives the power stroke at 144
degree angle. By addition of counterweights & modified design these odd cylinders are balanced properly.
The Finite Element Analysis Method is used to determine stress, strains & deflection at most stressed point
which results into failure of shaft. Results obtained from analysis are used during weight optimization. The
Shaft is analyzed using static analysis. For absorbing vibrations proper damping material is used to
achieve the requirement of safe design. The optimization results into reduction of weight as well as cost

Rocker arms are part of the valve-actuating mechanism. A rocker arm is designed to pivot on a pivot
pin or shaft that is secured to a bracket. The bracket is mounted on the cylinder head. One end of a
rocker arm is in contact with the top of the valve stem, and the other end is actuated by the camshaft.
In installations where the camshaft is located below the cylinder head, the rocker arms
are actuated by pushrods. The lifters have rollers which are forced by the valve springs to follow the
profiles of the cams. Failure of rocker arm is a measure concern as it is one of the important

Modeling and Analysis of Two Wheeler Connecting Rod by Using AnsysIOSR Journals
Connecting rod is a major link inside of a internal combustion engine. It is the intermediate member
between the piston and the crankshaft. Its primary function is to transmit the push and pull from the piston pin
to the crank pin thus converting the reciprocating motion of piston in to rotary motion of the crank. In this paper
a static analysis is conducted on a connecting rod of a single cylinder 4-stroke petrol engine. The model is
developed using Solid modeling software i.e. PRO/E (creo-parametric). Further finite element analysis is done
to determine the von-misses stresses shear stress and strains for the given loading conditions.
Stress Analysis of a Centrifugal Supercharger Impeller Bladeijceronline
A supercharger is an air compressor that increases the pressure or density of air supplied to an internal combustion engine. This gives each intake cycle of the engine more oxygen, letting it burn
more fuel and do more work, thus increasing power. Power for the supercharger can be provided mechanically by means of a belt, gear, shaft, or chain connected to the engine's crankshaft. Superchargers are a type of forced induction system. They compress the air flowing into the engine.
The advantage of compressing the air is that it lets the engine squeeze more air into a cylinder, and more air means that more fuel can be added. Therefore, you get more power from each explosion in each cylinder. Here in this project we are designing the compressor wheel by using Pro-E and doing
analysis by using FEA package. An attempt has been made to investigate the effect of pressure and induced stresses on the blade. By identifying the true design feature, the extended service life and long term stability is assured. A
structural analysis has been carried out to investigate the stresses, strains and displacements of the blade. An attempt is also made to suggest the best material for an blade of a turbocharger by comparing the results obtained for different materials. Based on the results best material is recommended for the blade of a turbocharger
Pins require very little service and total failure seldom occurs. Wear, pitting, and scoring are the usual troubles
encountered with pins. In this paper, going to apply induction hardening process on pins and its comparison will
be done with existing pins. Different hardening thickness or case depth will be applied and analysis will be done
to interpret the results. Case depth of 1mm, 2mm or 2.5mm will be taken in induction hardening process.
Caterpillar 320dl excavator model is taken for study. Material used for the pins is EN8 grade of steel. And
different material used for the pin for analysis purpose will be bronze alloy, Titanium. The main objective in this
project is to determine the appropriate induction hardening case depth to be used in manufacturing pins.ThreedHiympeenrsmioensh

Stress Analysis of I.C.Engine Connecting Rod by FEM and PhotoelasticityIOSR Journals
Abstract: The automobile engine connecting rod is a high volume production critical component. Every vehicle
that uses an internal combustion engine requires at least one connecting rod .From the viewpoint of
functionality, connecting rods must have the highest possible rigidity at the lowest weight. The major stress
induced in the connecting rod is a combination of axial and bending stresses in operation. The axial stresses are
produced due to cylinder gas pressure (compressive only) and the inertia force arising in account of
reciprocating action (both tensile as well as compressive), where as bending stresses are caused due to the
centrifugal effects. The result of which is, the maximum stresses are developed at the fillet section of the big and
the small end.Hence, the paper deals with the stress analysis of connecting rod by Finite Element Method using
Pro/E Wildfire 4.0 and ANSYS WORKBENCH 11.0 software. The comparison and verification of the results
obtained in FEA is done experimentally by the method of Photo elasticity(Optical Method). The method of
Photoelasticity includes the casting of Photoelastic sheet using Resin AY103 and Hardner HY951, preparation
of the model from Photoelastic sheet calibration of the sheet to determine material fringe value.

The suspension system is used to observe the vibrations from shock loads due to irregularities of the road
surface. It is perform its function without impairing the stability, steering (or) general handling of the vehicle.
Generally for light vehicles, coil springs are used as suspension system. A spring is an elastic object used to
store mechanical energy and it can be twist, pulled (or) stretched by some force and can return to their original
shape when the force is released. The present work attempts to analyze the safe load of the light vehicle
suspension spring with different materials. This investigation includes comparison of modeling and analyses of
primary suspension spring made of low carbon-structural steel and chrome vanadium steel and suggested the
suitability for optimum design. The results show the reduction in overall stress and deflection of spring for
chosen materials.

THE EFFECT OF VARIATION SKEW ANGLE B-SERIES PROPELLER ON PERFORMANCE AND CAVI...IAEME Publication
Achieving the highest possible efficiency from a propeller is needed to minimize
fuel. However, this is limited by the occurrence of cavitation, vibration, noise and
material strength possessed by propellers. Thus it is necessary to do a new
breakthrough in designing or modifying the shape of the propeller to achieve
maximum performance. One modification that can be done is to change the skew
angle. Propeller B-Series is a propeller that is often used and has a fairly complete
geometry data. Cavitation is something that must be considered because it will
manifest into noise, vibration and erosion in the propeller blade. The modification of
the skew angle will be analyzed using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
method of how the relationship between performance and cavitation results from the
various variations that have been made. So that later it can be known that skew angles
produce maximum performance and low cavitation. From the simulation results it can
be concluded that the greater the skew angle, the value of the thrust and torque
Design, Analysis and Optimization of a 6 cylinder Engine Crank shaftIJMER

consist of static structural analysis of six cylinder engine crank shaft. It identifies and solves the
problem by using the modelling and simulation techniques. The main work was to model the
crankshaft with dimensions and then simulate the crankshaft for static structural analysis. The
topic was chosen because of increasing interest in higher payloads, lower weight, higher efficiency
and shorter load cycles in crankshaft. The modelling software used is Unigraphics-NX7.5 for
modelling the crankshaft. The analysis software ANSYS is used for structural analysis of crankshaft. The
objective involves modelling and analysis of crankshaft, so as to identify the effect of stresses on
crankshaft, to compare various materials and to provide possible solution. Results obtained from the
aforementioned analysis were then used in optimization of the crankshaft. The first step in the
optimization process was weight reduction of the component considering static loading. This required the
stress range under static loading not to exceed the magnitude of the stress range in the original
crankshaft. Possible weight reduction options and their combinations were considered. The optimization
process resulted in a weight reduction, increased strength and a reduced cost of the crankshaft.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
