Need and importance of information technology in educationAshvini gupta
It's a education
NEED
Education is a life long process therefore anytime anywhere access to it is the need
Information explosion is an ever increasing phenomena therefore there is need to get access to this information
Education should meet the needs of variety of learners and therefore IT is important in meeting this need
It is a requirement of the society that the individuals should posses technological literacy
We need to increase access and bring down the cost of education to meet the challenges of illiteracy and poverty-IT is the answer
IMPORTANCE
Access to variety of learning resources
Immediacy to information
Anytime learning
Anywhere learning
Collaborative learning
Multimedia approach to education
Authentic and up to date information
Access to online libraries
Teaching of different subjects made interesting
Educational data storage
Distance education
Access to the source of information
Multiple communication channels-e-mail,chat,forum,blogs,etc.

Better accesses to children with disabilities
Reduces time on many routine tasks
Information Technology In Education
Information Technology in Education, effects of the continuing developments in information technology (IT) on education.
The pace of change brought about by new technologies has had a significant effect on the way people live, work, and play worldwide. New and emerging technologies challenge the traditional process of teaching and learning, and the way education is managed. Information technology, while an important area of study in its own right, is having a major impact across all curriculum areas. Easy worldwide communication provides instant access to a vast array of data, challenging assimilation and assessment skills. Rapid communication, plus increased access to IT in the home, at work, and in educational establishments, could mean that learning becomes a truly lifelong activity—an activity in which the pace of technological change forces constant evaluation of the learning process itself.

The Effect of Mobile Learning on the Development of the Students' Learning Be...inventionjournals
This research study was conducted on 153 students from the Jordanian University. A researchermade Likert-type questionnaire was adopted. A five-question questionnaire was formulated to measure the effect of mobile learning at the University’s students focusing on different aspects. The reliability of the questionnaire was at 91% through the use of Chronbach’s Alpha. T test was adopted to find out significance of differences among the different used variables that supported the effect of mobile learning on the student’s development in learning behaviors and performances. ANOVA was embraced to examine the student’s learning behaviors on mobile learning. The results showed that mobile learning accrues positive effect on motivating the students towards learning. There was also a positive correlation mobile learning to increased academic performance. Finally, the results indicated that M-learning changed student’s learning habits for the better.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason

2. Emergence of Mobile Learning
In this fast changing world, different stakeholders will have to work
together to develop new educational models to cater for new
generations of learners who will be using mobile technologies that do
not exist as yet. The current educational model is outdated because it
was developed before the advent of information and communication
technologies. The current model, based on classroom-based face-to-
face delivery, is geared towards educating a certain segment of the
population. Educators need to re-conceptualize education and make
the shift from traditional model to model.
3. Triple A model
( Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere)
Meet students where they are
Mobile learning through the use of wireless portable
technology which allows anyone to access information
and learning material at anytime from anywhere across
the globe. It cater the need of those learner who face
the geographical constraints and could not afford to
leave their places due to financial and family
constraints.
4. Mobile Learning
Mobile learning can transform pedagogy to cater for new
generations of learners because it offers the opportunity to
use active learning strategies and for learners to learn in their
own context. Mobile learning (m-learning) is education via
the Internet or network using personal mobile devices, such
as tablets, notepad, smartphones to obtain learning
materials through mobile apps, social interactions and online
educational hubs. It may be defined as e-learning with
wireless portable devices.
5. Mobile learning comprises of two
words i.e. mobile and learning. Mobile
means which can move easily.
Mobile learning is the way of attaining
knowledge and modify the behaviour
of learners through wireless
technological devices such as handheld
computers like palmtop, tablets,
notepad and smartphones with
combining internet connectivity.
6. Definition of Mobile Learning
According to (MOBIlearn., 2003) “Mobile learning is any sort
of learning that happens when the learner is not at a fixed,
predetermined location, or learning that happens when the
learner takes advantage of the learning opportunities offered
by mobile technologies"
In other words, with the use of mobile devices, learners can
learn anywhere and at any time (Crescente and Lee, 2011).
Mobile learning is considered to be the ability to use mobile
devices to support teaching and learning.
8. Features of M- Learning
Allowing students access to education anywhere, anytime.
Students use mobile apps and tools to complete and upload
assignments to teachers, download course instruction and
work in online social groups to complete tasks. The use of
mobile technology allows for cloud teaching where access to
people, resources and information will float freely regardless
of location (Sutch, 2010). Learners in different time zones
and locations will be able to access tutors when needed.
9.
10. Advantages of Mobile Learning
• Easy access to available OER(open educational resources)
• Students from different cultures express themselves more
readily compared to face-to-face situations through Mobile
technology
• To develop communities of learners, where learners can
tutor and help each other in the learning process, thus
resulting in high-level learning.
11.
12. Future of Mobile Learning
The next generation of mobile learning will be more
ubiquitous; there will be smart systems everywhere
that learners can learn from. Learners will learn from
multiple sources rather than using one device. Also, the
next generation of mobile technology will be virtual,
with virtual input and output capabilities.
