Illegal Immigration Problems
There be many problems with the increase of illegal immigrants coming to the United States, this
affects the U.S in many ways. The problem is that it takes to long to get the visa because there are a lot
of illegal immigrants. This affects the illegal immigrants that are coming to the U.S because it takes to
long and this also affects the people in the U.S that are a citizen because the illegal immigration get
the working visa so they can live in the U.S. This makes it harder for the people to get a job because
of the illegal immigrants taking jobs. This being ever since they made the vise it just takes to long to
make. This problem has to be solved immediately for the U.S citizen to not lose their job and to have a
better chance living in the United States. The problem is in the United States, it causes the visa by
taking so long to make a vase for the illegal immigrants.
There are many solutions to solve the problem of illegal immigrants in the United States. Some of the
solutions will be making a pathway to citizenship and improving the border security to fix
immigration. The article How To Fix Illegal Immigration? Earned Citizenship by D. Griswald, it
explains how immigrants have a chance making pathway to citizenship. By making a Pathway to
citizenship for the undocumented immigrants, it will provide a path for those undocumented
immigrants that have been in the United States. Before fixing the borders, we need to fix the illegal
immigrants in the United States. By

Digital Rights Management in Software
No one could argue with the statement that when one pays money for something, they expect to get
both what is advertised and also to get their money s worth out of their purchase. It seems, however, in
today s digital media industry, companies are finding ways to get more of people s money and give
them less for it. This sort of, in essence, thievery has become more and more prevalent in today s
media. One of the biggest issues is what is called Digital Rights Management, or DRM. DRM has
been implemented by many, many digital based companies to protect their products, and on a small
scale, are effective and a good way for a company to ensure their software is protected in one manner
or another. The problem comes in when companies get too overzealous in their attempts to protect
their goods to the point where it becomes inconvenient and downright annoying to those who actually
buy their products. Another major issue in contemporary media is the swaying of reviews. There are a
growing number of instances in which companies who produce either television shows, movies,
books, or videogames will pay well respected reviewers and critics to spin their reviews to be positive,
even if the reviewer does not believe that to be the case, though perhaps the most common instances
of this sort are those which involves video games. The industry is not without hope, however, as there
are those that would oppose

Technological Innovations In World War One
War, whether intentional or not, surrounds us and has done for many centuries. The four years of the
First World War saw combat on a scale that had never been experienced before the conflict was global,
it affected countless millions and, due to rapid technological advances on all sides, the nature of
combat changed significantly. The final days of swords and cavalry charges gave way to the routine
use of machine guns and tanks a new technological era had been heralded, an era we still live in today.
In World War One (WW1), technological innovations were primarily aimed at ending the stalemate
and aiding the allied victory. War demands the development of new methods of destruction and with
that an increase in technology. WW1 saw the innovation

Anne Frank House Research Paper
We are almost up, my mother said as we waited in line to enter the Anne Frank House. We stood over
an hour in the winding line of people. During that time, I was able to completely assimilate to my
surroundings, even though I endured the nervous anticipation. The surreal feeling of standing in a
colorful world just outside the room where eight people languished in a dark existence for twenty five
months was a seminal event in my life.
Unbeknownst to anyone, where I stood, in 1942, Anne Frank hid in plain sight because she lived in a
world that would not understand the similarity in our differences. Entering the house, people in line
continued through the building. I approached the infamous bookcase that concealed the Secret Annex
where Anne and her family hid. Understandably, it was heartbreaking to walk through the unfurnished
house with original photos and writings still on the walls. I don t think of all the misery, but of the
beauty that still remains. This was one of the many quotes by Anne Frank that was stenciled on the
wall. It was unimaginable to think that despite everything she endured, she was still able to find the ...

read in books or experienced from the news. I find myself reminiscing upon the real places on which
was reported, the same places I have been. Seeing the diary of Anne Frank in real life and standing in
the same place she hid in secret as a teenager was the nexus for understanding the important role
travel has played in the balanced perspective of different cultures I have, the similar perspective Anne
Frank embraced without regards to her particular circumstance. From this event I also embrace; we

Batman Thesis Statement
Title Matt Morris claims that the story of Batman is a great cautionary tale concerning the price we
risk paying if we are unable to keep things in balance . He warns that we should take Batman s lessons
to heart, and exercise as much care as we can not to let our work, and our service to the world, take
away from us the most basic necessities of a good and happy life . The Batman series is about Bruce
Wayne, a billionaire playboy who takes it on himself to protect the residents of Gotham City from
violence and corruption, disguised as a high tech anthropomorphic bat. This is an enormous
responsibility, one which comes with constants affronts to his physical and psychological well being,
as well as an inherent sense of psychic quarantine. On the surface, it appears that Morris makes a
strong point: Who would willingly renounce happiness for an ambition as onerous as keeping a major
metropolis from harm? The phrases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it s hard to project a hierarchy of values onto a fictional character, one can argue that for
Bruce, a life full of purpose, generosity, and authenticity, is a good and happy life , even if this
consequently means a life of burden, isolation, and renunciation. The virtues Morris extols are so
abstract that they can cover a considerable range in the non binary spectrum of human experience. The
word balance could be used for several situations; although the context of his comment implies that in
this case he means balance on a material and social level, a thorough analysis of the extenuating
circumstances in Bruce s life suggests that Morris s indictment is reductive as it is unfair. As the sole
surviving heir of one of

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Indian Marketing Mix
In the marketing mix we chose local responsiveness and local responsiveness is when there are
differences between countries in the structure of market segments, a unique marketing mix to appeal
to a certain segment in a given country may be necessary. And we chose it because in India they need
low price products with low quality, the people in India wants specific products and it s different than
what the other countries needs. Product attributes The attributes have to be the same as what they need
and it has to match their culture, level of economic development and product and technical standards.
In tradition we should have their traditional clothes and accessories, in their population they have big
percentage of young people and it will be easy for us to be popular between the youngsters because
most of the young people know how to use the Internet, there are 22 languages and a lot of religions in
India and we will make all the languages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The advantages of exporting is to avoid the costs of establishing local manufacturing operations but in
our case we want to have our own stores in the country because it will make it easier for us to
transport our products from our stores to the customers, the second advantage of exporting is that it
helps the firm achieve experience effects and location economies and the last advantage is that it has
control over manufacturing quality. One disadvantage of exporting is that there may be lower cost
manufacturing locations; this will not affect us as souq.com because we don t manufacture our own
products. Another disadvantage of the exporting entry mode is high transport costs and tariffs, this
also will not effect us because we are planning to have stores in India not exporting from another
places. The last disadvantage is that a foreign country agent may not act in exporter s best interest.

Internship Interflection
My end of internship impression of Menards has changed a lot over the duration of my time in many
ways that the corporate office does actually care about its team member by offering a benefits
package, offering team members on weeks adding an extra $2.50 to the hourly wage, whenever a
national holiday comes around John Menards Jr. will send a letter with a card that offer you to buy
something in the store for free or offers a check that can be used in the store, and every team member
also can receive a 10% discount on any purchase with the store too. Another way that surprised me
was if you hard work, your managers notice, and inform corporate office that you make receive a
small pay increase. My opinion of the workplace knows I have realized that the strict with their
policies and procedures, but honestly, they seem to be more of a guideline on what to follow, it is
actually more of a laid back work environment but in a good that managers don t micromanage. Some
takeaways from my internship at Menard, is I have discovered that I have a hidden talent for sales that
did not know about. An example of this they have been guest that have asked have you worked retail
before because I was impressed with quality of service you just offered. I learned a lot about myself
that I have more patients than I give myself credit for because they are days I am working with a guest
that is beyond indecisive or just be straight up picky. I just patiently want for them to make a decision

Existential Nihilism In Gwen Harwood s Poetry
The awareness we have of our own mortality, the limitations of our flesh, bound only to our nature
through subjective perceptions of value and worth has thus far been the driving force behind
philosophy and its exploration of the human experience. My interpretation of Gwen Harwood s poetry,
through the two examples Triste, Triste and At Mornington , is that it appeals to the key concepts of
existentialism, namely Despair, and the Other . Through addressing these key concepts, Harwood s
poetry contends the notions of existential nihilism. In turn, the human experiences of loss and
consolation are authenticated through her poetic exploration of the concrete and the abstract realms
within those key concepts. Although the statement concerning ... Show more content on

Harwood explores the intersubjectivity between the individual and the Other throughout At
Mornington through the use of inclusive pronouns, such as we . The line from stanza two, by your
parents grave in silence expresses the potency of the individual s empathy. The silence represents the
acknowledgement of the Other, through nonverbally inhabiting the same space. This representation of
the comfort of another being, conveys the extent of the acknowledgement, and contends the notions of
existential nihilism through the implicit values of dasein . The last stanza of the poem contains the line
the peace of this day will shine , this line reflects on the consequences of death. We have one day, only
one the epanaleptic repetition of one emphasises the finite nature of our life and suggests an assertive
tone to the statement. The motif of the day represents the lifetime of the individual; the metaphor of
the day represents the cyclic nature of life and alludes to the biblical notion of death and resurrection.
The cyclical representation of life and death symbolises the transition from loss to consolation,
through the acknowledgement of the other, and through the developed acceptance of the individual s

now in the 2000 s the prefect figure has changed and now it is known as The botty babe , this is where
it is relating to Nicki Minaj. This is where young girls are looking to change their bodies to look like
these celebrities.
With all the press people trying to live up to this standard in today s society, this is why suicide and
mental health issues is on the high. Recent research showed that, (e.g. Trust for the Study of

We get some who is very confident and others who don t have any. But sometimes it is good to offer
tasks or activities for young girls to boost their confidence. As Batsleer stated that, Offering new
opportunities and challenges is also a common method of building up self confidence as young
women try new activities, they grow in confidence to tackle new way of living that are within their
grasp .
(Batsleer:2013:40)
However if a young girl is lacking confident issues as they are trying to live up to celebrity life s this
can take a huge part of a young person confidence. In my local youth centre, I believe running courses
on self confidence and self esteem with young girls is critical as these young girls will talk to you once

Different Stages Of Career And Life
Different Stages in Career and Life According to Capuzzi Stauffer (2012), the tenuous, but
nonetheless important, relationship between the different stages in career and life are understood to be
explored in clients in two different stages of change. The first stage is known as the transtheoretical
model of behavioral change. This model consists of six stages that clients experience during the onset
of their change (Capuzzi Stauffer, 2012). The stages of change are (DiClemente, 2003):
precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination (p. 527).
Depending on the issue the client is dealing with will determine what stage he or she is at. For
example, in the precontemplation stage, clients lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How were the needs for water and economic structures in some of the earliest of world s civilizations
cities and states met around 3100 BCE 100 CE and how did they get there? The cities and states back
then depended on working waterways and architectural growth in order for their population to thrive.
The larger the population, the greater the need for more easily and readily available water. When we
think of a large population, we often think of the word civilization and if they had certain traditions
that may have been passed down. Some of the first known civilizations were that of ancient
Mesopotamia and Egypt which were located along the well known Nile, Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
They had traditions just like any other culture, but the Mesopotamians wrote them down allowing
historians a glimpse into their culture and their need for water. By looking at these civilizations today,
we can talk about the political and economic factors of how water supplies were regulated around
Mesopotamia and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to demonstrating that people could transport and store food effectively, the presence of
cities also indicates that people were producing enough surplus food to allow for a specialization of
labor (Wheeler 1). So in short, we could say that if everyone was a farmer with this new access to
water and new technology, then no one would be building the city or preparing for the future. There
would be no storage bins for grains, no roads and no one to govern the city and create written laws or
policies for their growth. Supplying the city with water wasn t just a technical issue, but it also
affected the economical, legal and political development of any ancient

Eukaryotic And Prokaryotic Of Cells
There are two major groups that cells can be grouped into to. These are eukaryotic and prokaryotic
cells. All eukaryotic cells contain a plasma membrane, as well as cytoplasm and organelles such as
mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER), Golgi apparatus, smooth ER, ribosomes, a nucleus
which is surrounded by a double membrane known as the nuclear envelope, and secretory vesicles.
There are some eukaryotic cells which contain more organelles as well as theses. Some eukaryotic
cells, specifically in plants, have chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are organelles that contain stacks of
granum known as thylakoid stacks. The granum contains chlorophyll, and the first stage of
photosynthesis occurs here. Some eukaryotic cells contain centrioles, which are strands of protein
involved in the process of mitosis and meiosis. Pant cells have a cell wall made from cellulose. This
prevents the cell from bursting from too much water uptake via osmosis. Fungi do not have
chloroplasts. They do have a cell wall like plant cells, but whereas the cell walls in the plant cells are
made from cellulose, the cell wall in a fungal cell is made from chitin. This is a polymer made from N
acetylglucosamine. Prokaryote is the name of a kingdom for organisms, and all bacteria fall into this
kingdom. The prokaryote kingdom is enormous, and prokaryotes are found in every known habitat on
the planet. Bacteria are very useful, they can be used in biomedical sciences to help develop

Essay about Julia s Food Booth
Julia s Food Booth
Julia Robertson is a senior at Tech, and she s investigating different ways to finance her final year at
school. She is considering leasing a food booth outside the Tech stadium at home football games. Tech
sells out every home game, and Julia knows, from attending the games herself, that everyone eats a lot
of food. She has to pay $1,000 per game for a booth, and the booths are not very large. Vendors can
sell either food or drinks on Tech property, but not both. Only the Tech athletic department concession
stands can sell both inside the stadium. She thinks slices of cheese pizza, hot dogs, and barbecue
sandwiches are the most popular food items among fans and so these are the items she would sell.

a customer base for the season if she follows these general guidelines for demand.
If Julia clears at least $1,000 in profit for each game after paying all her expenses, she believes it will
be worth leasing the booth.

Queen Nzinga During The 1500 s
Queen Nzinga was believed to be born during the last half of the 1500 s. During her early life, she
grew up with her father as a leader. Her father Ngola Kiluanji Kia Samba was a ruler before her. He
started his ruling by leading his people against Portuguese colonialists. Queen Nzinga Mbande was the
monarch in Mbundu people. She became the queen when her brother committed suicide. During that
time there was rising demand for the slave trade. She always refused to allow anybody to control her
nation. This lead to tons of struggles throughout the 16th century. Though she had no formal education
she was a great leader. This was because during this time there was some enlightenment in the
education field in England but none in Africa. In 1626 Nzinga s brother had died. Some believe it was
suicide because of strong people from Portugal. The king was said to have sent Nzinga to negotiate a
peace treaty with Portugal. Portugal did not agree with these terms, then King Ngola committed

Analysis Of The Lord Of The Rings

J.R.R Tolkien and WWI Influence in The Lord of the Rings War has affected the lives of people since
the beginning of civilization. Even General Sherman, famous for his March to the Sea in America s
Civil War, was known for his saying, War is Hell. That idea would only prove to be all too true for the
soldiers of World War I. J.R.R Tolkien was among the young men that struggled for survival in the
damp and deplorable trenches as enemy fire hailed from the sky and bombs decimated the terrain
around them. Many soldiers returned home, physically and mentally traumatized. J.R.R. Tolkien was
no different, and returned home from the war after losing two of his closest friends, suffering from
trench fever, and struggling to acclimate back into normal civilian life (Wood 7). The war left an
imprint on him, just as it did many other WWI writers, such as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Graves
(Ott 1). Tolkien used his writings as a way to escape his trauma, but the scars followed him even into
his mythopedia of Middle earth as he wrote The Lord of the Rings. Sam, Frodo, and other characters,
like Aragorn, suffered through similar physical tribulations such as horrid sights of rotting corpses, as
well as emotional struggles, such as feelings of despair, similar to the soldiers of World War I (Ott 5).
The various emotional and physical vicissitudes that Sam and Frodo encountered were similar to those

Chan s article (2016) talked about how identity, efficacy and anger help legitimize and support the
activities of social movements. First, according to social identity theory, if individuals categorized
themselves into the groups they belong to, they would be more motivated to support the group and act
in accordance with the internal goal. In other words, Higher levels of group identification with the in
group is related to a greater likelihood of engagement (Kelly, 1994). Based on this theory, we decided
to expose messages that made our audiences feel like the sharply decreasing oyster population is
closely related to their daily life. For example, oysters are beneficial to their health, water environment
and plants. Second, Chan suggests higher group efficacy is a stronger predictor of collection actions.
For our campaign, we tried to make our audiences feel like they are an indispensable part of our
campaign. According to this principal, we also tried to response to our follower s comments as quickly

The Importance Of Music And Art Therapy
The research established that music and art therapy is a valid technique, and it can reduce depression
in the participants. Art therapy is a technique to arouse the central nervous system, and it produced
dopamine, which in turn, creates good feelings in an individual, in other words happiness. This study
was extremely simple, yet it show how other cultures value their elderly unlike Americans (Im Lee,
2014). At the Regent Care Center, the residents are bored out of their mind coloring the same boring
pages out of coloring books. This is one factor that I experienced, and we had so many residents
attend the art classes, my son and I provided. They were capable of using free will instead of being
told what to do. It made them content to see us, and the gratitude we received through the
conversations we engaged in with the residents. They made is feel good, and feeling on their part was

Death Of The Butterflies Patria Quotes
That moment, I understood her hatred. My family had not been personally hurt by Trujillo, just as
before losing my baby, Jesus had not taken anything away from me. But others had been suffering
great losses (Alvarez, 1994, p. 53). This quote had been stated by Patria in relation to religion.
I had heard, but I had not believed. Snug in my heart, fondling my pearl, I had ignored their cries of
desolation. How could our loving, all powerful Father allow us to suffer so? I looked up, challenging
Him. And the two faces had merged! (Alvarez, 1994, p. 53)
This image illustrates how Trujillo s system truly brunts the lives of Patria, her sisters, and their fellow
people. To them, Trujillo is almost godlike. He usually gives them arcane commandments, smites
those who contravene his power, and is delimited by wealth. Patria shows her disbelief in how
callously God is behaving toward her because of her child s death. Throughout In the Time of the
Butterflies, Julia Alvarez s Patria Mirabal develops from an optimistic young Catholic girl to a woman
who doubts; subsequently, that educators can further come to understand the influence of God on one
s actions.

It is the Lord s will, I agreed, but the words sounded hollow to my ear (Alvarez, 1994, p. 53). Patria
begins to doubt the religion she had been raised upon, and basically lived off of subsequent to the
passing away of her baby. Before losing her baby, Patria had never felt personally affected by Trujillo
since he had been from a prosperous family. On the other hand, after experiencing a loss, she begins to
feel compassion. Alvarez uses this excerpt to inform educators that although one is taught moral
behavior as an adolescent, it is up to the individual to steadily exemplify good behavior throughout
their future

Wireless Security And Vulnerability In The Wireless Network
Vulnerability in the Wireless Network
Rafael Reccy
Seminole State College
Abstract
Wi Fi can be found anywhere in this day in age, you can walk into almost any establishment and you
ll be sure to find their Wi Fi, accessible from anywhere within their spaces. Each data packet being
transmitted through the air, whether containing private, sensitive or insensitive information, is
available for an attacker to capture. To fight against this, there have been some standards that have
come out through the years to guard and protect data, such as WPA. All standards have been created to
replace the preceding one due to vulnerabilities found in the engineering of them. Still to this day, not
every standard is fully secure, attackers still find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, there is one of the vulnerabilities that is pretty much impossible to guard against, DoS like
Molta points out, Other problems are looming, the most pernicious of which are DoS (denial of
service) attacks. While DoS is a fact of life on all networks, it s worse on wireless networks because
not only do you need to guard against attacks at Layer 2 and above, you re also extremely vulnerable
to physical layer attacks to the medium (Molta, 2002, p. 18). In this essay, some vulnerabilities will be
looked at that can affect Wi Fi home users as well as businesses that implement wireless networks
because both types of networks can be affected by the same types of intrusion or disruption attacks.
Even though this paper is about vulnerabilities, it is important to point out that wi fi networks can still
be operated safely with a high level of security in place.
Wireless networks are considered vulnerable when an incident occurs that exploits the capability to
perform the desired requirement of maintaining performance and concealment of data. Most
vulnerabilities happen because of the science behind a wireless network, the fact that it uses air as a
medium makes it harder to protects because the environment of air is not stable and when it comes to
delivering sacred information you must be on

Speech On Plastic Bag Bags
According to some estimates, between 500 billion and a trillion plastic grocery bags are used globally
each year. The WorldWatch Institute states it takes 430,000 gallons of oil to produce 100 million
plastic bags so that comes to a staggering 4,300,000 gallons or 16,277,270 liters of oil to make a
trillion bags. It s been great to see a concerted effort by many individuals, some towns and states to
ban disposable plastic shopping bags; but even if you have e started to kick the disposable plastic bag
habit, chances are you may still have a few dozen or hundred floating around the place. Plastic bag
litter isn t just unsightly, in a marine environment plastic bags are particularly destructive, killing at
least 100,000 birds, whales, seals and turtles every year according to PlanetArk. Many sea animals

People believe if you want to keep your money, you have to respect them. A symbolic way of

The Baghavad Gita, Yoga Sutras Of Patanjai, And The Hatha
The Baghavad Gita, Yoga Sutras of Patanjai, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika are all considered to be
revolutionary texts. Their teachings depart from earlier traditions and propose many approaches to
enlightenment. Through their definition of yoga or their philosophical goals, each contain some
similarities as well as aspects that make each of them unique.
The epic text of the Bhagavad Gita defines yoga as the skill of union with the ultimate reality or the
absolute. The work comes to us in the form of dialogue between Lord Sri Krishna and the princely
warrior Arjuna, which occurs just before the onset of the devastating Mahabharata war. The Yoga
Sutras by Patanjali also define yoga as a union of the parts of ourselves, and sutra means ... Show

This first step is that the student is ready to listen. Then the student ruminates on what the guru says.
Then finally the student gets meaning from the gurus teachings based on his concentration and
meditation on it. Upanishad means to sit near which represents the relationship between the guru and
the student. In the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the system was first associated with the Nath Yogis, but also
connected to other yogis lineages of the time. The Naths recruited without the regard to caste or
religion and took many muslims, sufi fakirs and dasnamyi into their fold. Here, yoga is meant for the
good of all creatures, and a true Yogi was always desirous of benefitting as many men as possible He
will find a true and earnest student who will not trifle with this knowledge. Each of these texts
represent the importance of Upanishadic learning. The dialogue of the Gita goes through a series of
concepts such as the body/soul distinction, the principle of nonattached action, the virtues of discipline
(yoga) and meditation. Jhana yoga is the first stage where a person acquires the knowledge of the
inner self through study and contemplation and becomes aware of the importance of realizing his true

The Cloning Debate On Cloning

The Cloning Debate
According to Mosby s Medical Dictionary, the term cloning is defined as a procedure for producing
multiple copies of genetically identical organisms or cells or of individual genes. Researchers have
conducted several cloning experiments over the years, replicating tissues, organs, and even full
organisms such as Dolly the Sheep in 1997. The history of cloning dates back to the early 1900 s when
Hans Adolf Edward Dreisch studied the results of separating two celled sea urchin embryos ( The
History of Cloning ). The process has since evolved and become a process that is widely talked about
amongst doctors, scientists and the general public. The process of cloning has been predicted to play a
significant role in medical advancements in the near future. The main areas of which cloning could
potentially affect are treatments for various diseases through organ replacement and infertility. As
many topics in science, controversy exists regarding the subject of cloning in addition to its
advantages and disadvantages.
One advantage of cloning is the ability to produce organs and tissues for diseases and medical
conditions that require transplantation. The national waitlist for organ donation consists of more than
one hundred thousand patients and increases by nearly four thousand patients a day ( Organ Donation
and Transplantation ). The amount of donors is much less in comparison to the number of recipients.

The Struggle Of Slavery In Douglass, By J. Jacobs
Prior to the publication of any slave narrative, African Americans had been represented by early
historians interpretations of their race, culture, and situation along with contemporary authors
fictionalized depictions. Their persona was often characterized as infantile, incompetent,
and...incapable of achievement (Hunter Willis 11) while the actions of slaveholders were justified with
the arguments that slavery would maintain a cheap labor force and a guarantee that their suffering did
not differ to the toils of the rest of the struggling world (Hunter Willis 12). The emergence of the slave
narratives created a new voice that discredited all former allegations of inferiority and produced a new
perception of resilience and ingenuity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like Douglass, Jacobs also exposed the harsh treatment towards slaves while proving that American
blacks could succeed at the same activities as whites (Hunter Willis 26) through her own narrated
experiences. Her resolve to write demonstrated a resistance to the patriarchal system of slavery
(Peterson 158) by sharing the exploits of slavery through her own point of view.
Shielded from the atrocities of slavery during her childhood, Jacobs depicts family life among slaves
as one that remains intact in a comfortable home (29) through the example of her own family. Each
member held limited rights along with the ability to work and the privilege to use their earnings as
they pleased. It is not until the death of her mistress where she finally begins to feel the effects of
slavery in the sudden separation of her family who are all distributed among her [mistress s] relatives
(Jacobs 33). The separation of family is one of the most integral subjects of her narrative since
motherhood [plays a great role] in her life (Wolfe 518). Jacobs appeals to the emotions of her female
audiences by contrasting a slave mother s agonies in her separation from her children with the happy
free women (40) whose children remain with her since no hand (40) has the right to take them away.
The separation of families in Douglass s narrative does call for some pity but the event is not as tragic

Jack Kerouac and The Beat Generation Essay
Born to die
The Beat Generation, made up of writers, artists and misfits, was forged not long after the end of
World War II. People wanted change, the old ways and traditions were slowly being neglected and
social rules of that time were put into question. The Beat Generation were the ones leading the way in
questioning the old rules and regulations not because they wanted to but because America wanted it.
The Beat Generation was a bohemian hipster like movement that got its drive and inspiration from
sexuality, drugs, booze, crazy people and situations and religions like Christianity, Judaism and

Death is a phenomenon that many do not understand in America. America tells many that life should
be lived in a certain way in order to live life to its fullest before death comes creeping along. Humans
create this false pursuit of happiness before they leave this world. It leaves many in fear of death.
Religious beliefs teach humans to embrace death. If that is the case, then why is it that citizens in
north America still fear death when living a happy life in a first world country. Jack Kerouac is
inspired to write spontaneously through his travels in Mexico because of Tristessa s junk addiction and
how she embraces death even though her life is miserable. The romantic s wrote many poems about
death and many artists from that era embraced death because it evoked a high level of curiosity in
humans. Kerouac seems to embrace this notion too because it expresses an essential truth about the
human condition. He was inspired by a dove in Tristessa s house, Yet so much like Tristessa s eyes
that I wish I could comment and tell Tristessa: Thou hast the dove s eyes. (Kerouac 26) the Dove
represents the communication between the two worlds and more importantly it represents peace of the
deepest kind. It sooths all our worries and troubled thoughts. It helps to appreciate the little things in
life. Kerouac wrote in spontaneous prose style at this moment in time because he was captivated by
the image of the dove in Tristessa s house looking over her

How Does Citizen Kane Affect Hollywood Cinema
Citizen Kane, made in 1941 by Orson Wells, presents a biography of Charles Foster Kane and used an
approach to plot order that was radical for its time. It was a pioneer in advanced techniques such as
using actors and objects at different distances and keeping them in focus, longer shots without cuts,
and non linear storytelling. Citizen Kane and the techniques used would affect Hollywood cinema for
years to come. The movie, Citizen Kane, consisted of nine sequences, five of which are flashbacks. It
starts with Kane s death then is followed up by the major events in his life. There is also a sequence
involving a reported assigned to get more information on Mr. Kane s life. The movie is told in a
fashion that goes along with the order of which the investigator gets information about Kane s life not
chronologically. Since it was not chronologic but rather jumbled up, it requires the viewer to become
engaged and put the sequence of the story together themselves. ... Show more content on

then later showed him first buying his newspaper business. This order made a more suspenseful

In globalization, a country acts as a part of a free trading community consisting of member nations

Cultural Differences Between Race And Ethnicity
First, race and ethnicity are defined as different concepts, the first being biological and the second
cultural. The key point to understand both concepts separately are the social labels used by a society,
to classify its members biologically and culturally. While race is based on the popular perception of
people s physical traits, ethnicity separates them by cultural characteristics.
Members of a group share the same language, accent, religion, history, and even national origin. Most
of the time, ethnicity is something that is obtained through learning, under the form and lifestyle,
among others. Although each individual at a given time can seek a new ethnicity, every individual is
born belonging to a particular ethnic group.
Some examples ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethnic origin, on the other hand, is determined by the social and cultural groups to which it belongs.
One can have more of an ethnic background, but only one race, even if it is mixed. Contrary to ethnic
groups, of which there are thousands or more, there are only a few racial groups.
Another difference between race and ethnicity is related to the ability to identify oneself. A person
cannot choose his race; this is assigned to him based on his physical characteristics. However one can
choose ethnicity. A person can learn a certain language, social norms, and customs, in addition to
assimilating a culture and being part of that ethnic group.
Ethnicity is a requirement of identity on the part of the people since there are identification and feeling
of belonging to an ethnic group but at the same time a feeling of exclusion from other groups due to
this affiliation. The great problem of ethnic differences is that throughout the history of mankind there
have been constant persecutions towards minorities even though there are no physical differences
among the population. As an example, we have the case of the Jews in World War II.
One similarity between race and ethnicity is that both are a social

  • 3. Digital And The Digital Rights Management Jacob Barbour Thompson ENG 111 I1 11 5 15 Digital Rights Management in Software No one could argue with the statement that when one pays money for something, they expect to get both what is advertised and also to get their money s worth out of their purchase. It seems, however, in today s digital media industry, companies are finding ways to get more of people s money and give them less for it. This sort of, in essence, thievery has become more and more prevalent in today s media. One of the biggest issues is what is called Digital Rights Management, or DRM. DRM has been implemented by many, many digital based companies to protect their products, and on a small scale, are effective and a good way for a company to ensure their software is protected in one manner or another. The problem comes in when companies get too overzealous in their attempts to protect their goods to the point where it becomes inconvenient and downright annoying to those who actually buy their products. Another major issue in contemporary media is the swaying of reviews. There are a growing number of instances in which companies who produce either television shows, movies, books, or videogames will pay well respected reviewers and critics to spin their reviews to be positive, even if the reviewer does not believe that to be the case, though perhaps the most common instances of this sort are those which involves video games. The industry is not without hope, however, as there are those that would oppose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Technological Innovations In World War One War, whether intentional or not, surrounds us and has done for many centuries. The four years of the First World War saw combat on a scale that had never been experienced before the conflict was global, it affected countless millions and, due to rapid technological advances on all sides, the nature of combat changed significantly. The final days of swords and cavalry charges gave way to the routine use of machine guns and tanks a new technological era had been heralded, an era we still live in today. In World War One (WW1), technological innovations were primarily aimed at ending the stalemate and aiding the allied victory. War demands the development of new methods of destruction and with that an increase in technology. WW1 saw the innovation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Anne Frank House Research Paper We are almost up, my mother said as we waited in line to enter the Anne Frank House. We stood over an hour in the winding line of people. During that time, I was able to completely assimilate to my surroundings, even though I endured the nervous anticipation. The surreal feeling of standing in a colorful world just outside the room where eight people languished in a dark existence for twenty five months was a seminal event in my life. Unbeknownst to anyone, where I stood, in 1942, Anne Frank hid in plain sight because she lived in a world that would not understand the similarity in our differences. Entering the house, people in line continued through the building. I approached the infamous bookcase that concealed the Secret Annex where Anne and her family hid. Understandably, it was heartbreaking to walk through the unfurnished house with original photos and writings still on the walls. I don t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains. This was one of the many quotes by Anne Frank that was stenciled on the wall. It was unimaginable to think that despite everything she endured, she was still able to find the ... I find myself reminiscing upon the real places on which was reported, the same places I have been. Seeing the diary of Anne Frank in real life and standing in the same place she hid in secret as a teenager was the nexus for understanding the important role travel has played in the balanced perspective of different cultures I have, the similar perspective Anne Frank embraced without regards to her particular circumstance. • 6. Batman Thesis Statement Title Matt Morris claims that the story of Batman is a great cautionary tale concerning the price we risk paying if we are unable to keep things in balance . He warns that we should take Batman s lessons to heart, and exercise as much care as we can not to let our work, and our service to the world, take away from us the most basic necessities of a good and happy life . The Batman series is about Bruce Wayne, a billionaire playboy who takes it on himself to protect the residents of Gotham City from violence and corruption, disguised as a high tech anthropomorphic bat. This is an enormous responsibility, one which comes with constants affronts to his physical and psychological well being, as well as an inherent sense of psychic quarantine. On the surface, it appears that Morris makes a strong point: Who would willingly renounce happiness for an ambition as onerous as keeping a major metropolis from harm? The phrases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although it s hard to project a hierarchy of values onto a fictional character, one can argue that for Bruce, a life full of purpose, generosity, and authenticity, is a good and happy life , even if this consequently means a life of burden, isolation, and renunciation. The virtues Morris extols are so abstract that they can cover a considerable range in the non binary spectrum of human experience. The word balance could be used for several situations; although the context of his comment implies that in this case he means balance on a material and social level, a thorough analysis of the extenuating circumstances in Bruce s life suggests that Morris s indictment is reductive as it is unfair. As the sole surviving heir of one of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Indian Marketing Mix In the marketing mix we chose local responsiveness and local responsiveness is when there are differences between countries in the structure of market segments, a unique marketing mix to appeal to a certain segment in a given country may be necessary. And we chose it because in India they need low price products with low quality, the people in India wants specific products and it s different than what the other countries needs. Product attributes The attributes have to be the same as what they need and it has to match their culture, level of economic development and product and technical standards. In tradition we should have their traditional clothes and accessories, in their population they have big percentage of young people and it will be easy for us to be popular between the youngsters because most of the young people know how to use the Internet, there are 22 languages and a lot of religions in India and we will make all the languages ... The advantages of exporting is to avoid the costs of establishing local manufacturing operations but in our case we want to have our own stores in the country because it will make it easier for us to transport our products from our stores to the customers, the second advantage of exporting is that it helps the firm achieve experience effects and location economies and the last advantage is that it has control over manufacturing quality. One disadvantage of exporting is that there may be lower cost manufacturing locations; this will not affect us as souq.com because we don t manufacture our own products. Another disadvantage of the exporting entry mode is high transport costs and tariffs, this also will not effect us because we are planning to have stores in India not exporting from another places. • 8. Internship Interflection My end of internship impression of Menards has changed a lot over the duration of my time in many ways that the corporate office does actually care about its team member by offering a benefits package, offering team members on weeks adding an extra $2.50 to the hourly wage, whenever a national holiday comes around John Menards Jr. will send a letter with a card that offer you to buy something in the store for free or offers a check that can be used in the store, and every team member also can receive a 10% discount on any purchase with the store too. Another way that surprised me was if you hard work, your managers notice, and inform corporate office that you make receive a small pay increase. My opinion of the workplace knows I have realized that the strict with their policies and procedures, but honestly, they seem to be more of a guideline on what to follow, it is actually more of a laid back work environment but in a good that managers don t micromanage. Some takeaways from my internship at Menard, is I have discovered that I have a hidden talent for sales that did not know about. An example of this they have been guest that have asked have you worked retail before because I was impressed with quality of service you just offered. I learned a lot about myself that I have more patients than I give myself credit for because they are days I am working with a guest that is beyond indecisive or just be straight up picky. • 9. Existential Nihilism In Gwen Harwood s Poetry The awareness we have of our own mortality, the limitations of our flesh, bound only to our nature through subjective perceptions of value and worth has thus far been the driving force behind philosophy and its exploration of the human experience. My interpretation of Gwen Harwood s poetry, through the two examples Triste, Triste and At Mornington , is that it appeals to the key concepts of existentialism, namely Despair, and the Other . Through addressing these key concepts, Harwood s poetry contends the notions of existential nihilism. In turn, the human experiences of loss and consolation are authenticated through her poetic exploration of the concrete and the abstract realms within those key concepts. Although the statement concerning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Harwood explores the intersubjectivity between the individual and the Other throughout At Mornington through the use of inclusive pronouns, such as we . The line from stanza two, by your parents grave in silence expresses the potency of the individual s empathy. All eukaryotic cells contain a plasma membrane, as well as cytoplasm and organelles such as mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER), Golgi apparatus, smooth ER, ribosomes, a nucleus which is surrounded by a double membrane known as the nuclear envelope, and secretory vesicles. There are some eukaryotic cells which contain more organelles as well as theses. Some eukaryotic cells, specifically in plants, have chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are organelles that contain stacks of granum known as thylakoid stacks. The granum contains chlorophyll, and the first stage of photosynthesis occurs here. Some eukaryotic cells contain centrioles, which are strands of protein involved in the process of mitosis and meiosis. Pant cells have a cell wall made from cellulose. This prevents the cell from bursting from too much water uptake via osmosis. Fungi do not have chloroplasts. Analysis Of The Lord Of The Rings Danielle McDermott Dr. Oldakowski College Writing Research Paper 12/3/14 J.R.R Tolkien and WWI Influence in The Lord of the Rings War has affected the lives of people since the beginning of civilization. Even General Sherman, famous for his March to the Sea in America s Civil War, was known for his saying, War is Hell. That idea would only prove to be all too true for the soldiers of World War I. J.R.R Tolkien was among the young men that struggled for survival in the damp and deplorable trenches as enemy fire hailed from the sky and bombs decimated the terrain around them. Many soldiers returned home, physically and mentally traumatized. J.R.R. Tolkien was no different, and returned home from the war after losing two of his closest friends, suffering from trench fever, and struggling to acclimate back into normal civilian life (Wood 7). The war left an imprint on him, just as it did many other WWI writers, such as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Graves (Ott 1). Tolkien used his writings as a way to escape his trauma, but the scars followed him even into his mythopedia of Middle earth as he wrote The Lord of the Rings. Sam, Frodo, and other characters, like Aragorn, suffered through similar physical tribulations such as horrid sights of rotting corpses, as well as emotional struggles, such as feelings of despair, similar to the soldiers of World War I (Ott 5). The work comes to us in the form of dialogue between Lord Sri Krishna and the princely warrior Arjuna, which occurs just before the onset of the devastating Mahabharata war. The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali also define yoga as a union of the parts of ourselves, and sutra means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 29. The Cloning Debate On Cloning Eva Gaetz Sec 09 Kanchan Hulasare The Cloning Debate According to Mosby s Medical Dictionary, the term cloning is defined as a procedure for producing multiple copies of genetically identical organisms or cells or of individual genes. Researchers have conducted several cloning experiments over the years, replicating tissues, organs, and even full organisms such as Dolly the Sheep in 1997. The history of cloning dates back to the early 1900 s when Hans Adolf Edward Dreisch studied the results of separating two celled sea urchin embryos ( The History of Cloning ). The process has since evolved and become a process that is widely talked about amongst doctors, scientists and the general public. The process of cloning has been predicted to play a significant role in medical advancements in the near future. The main areas of which cloning could potentially affect are treatments for various diseases through organ replacement and infertility. As many topics in science, controversy exists regarding the subject of cloning in addition to its advantages and disadvantages. One advantage of cloning is the ability to produce organs and tissues for diseases and medical conditions that require transplantation. The national waitlist for organ donation consists of more than one hundred thousand patients and increases by nearly four thousand patients a day ( Organ Donation and Transplantation ). The amount of donors is much less in comparison to the number of recipients. As of 2013, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Struggle Of Slavery In Douglass, By J. Jacobs Prior to the publication of any slave narrative, African Americans had been represented by early historians interpretations of their race, culture, and situation along with contemporary authors fictionalized depictions. Their persona was often characterized as infantile, incompetent, and...incapable of achievement (Hunter Willis 11) while the actions of slaveholders were justified with the arguments that slavery would maintain a cheap labor force and a guarantee that their suffering did not differ to the toils of the rest of the struggling world (Hunter Willis 12). The emergence of the slave narratives created a new voice that discredited all former allegations of inferiority and produced a new perception of resilience and ingenuity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like Douglass, Jacobs also exposed the harsh treatment towards slaves while proving that American blacks could succeed at the same activities as whites (Hunter Willis 26) through her own narrated experiences. Her resolve to write demonstrated a resistance to the patriarchal system of slavery (Peterson 158) by sharing the exploits of slavery through her own point of view. Shielded from the atrocities of slavery during her childhood, Jacobs depicts family life among slaves as one that remains intact in a comfortable home (29) through the example of her own family. Each member held limited rights along with the ability to work and the privilege to use their earnings as they pleased. It is not until the death of her mistress where she finally begins to feel the effects of slavery in the sudden separation of her family who are all distributed among her [mistress s] relatives (Jacobs 33). The separation of family is one of the most integral subjects of her narrative since motherhood [plays a great role] in her life (Wolfe 518). Jacobs appeals to the emotions of her female audiences by contrasting a slave mother s agonies in her separation from her children with the happy free women (40) whose children remain with her since no hand (40) has the right to take them away. The separation of families in Douglass s narrative does call for some pity but the event is not as tragic in comparison to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I remember him most from the latter of those works, but he is probably familiar to many of the viewers. We are cognizant of the fact that he is a despicable character from the beginning, but the single ladies of the town had better take heed. I am persuaded that we have not seen the last of this talented actor and his wayward character. And one of those girls who had better beware is Clara. I was ecstatic to see Eva return as I have been watching her career develop for a few years now. • 33. Jack Kerouac and The Beat Generation Essay Born to die The Beat Generation, made up of writers, artists and misfits, was forged not long after the end of World War II. People wanted change, the old ways and traditions were slowly being neglected and social rules of that time were put into question. The Beat Generation were the ones leading the way in questioning the old rules and regulations not because they wanted to but because America wanted it. The Beat Generation was a bohemian hipster like movement that got its drive and inspiration from sexuality, drugs, booze, crazy people and situations and religions like Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism. Death is a phenomenon that many do not understand in America. America tells many that life should be lived in a certain way in order to live life to its fullest before death comes creeping along. Humans create this false pursuit of happiness before they leave this world. It leaves many in fear of death. Religious beliefs teach humans to embrace death. If that is the case, then why is it that citizens in north America still fear death when living a happy life in a first world country. Jack Kerouac is inspired to write spontaneously through his travels in Mexico because of Tristessa s junk addiction and how she embraces death even though her life is miserable. The romantic s wrote many poems about death and many artists from that era embraced death because it evoked a high level of curiosity in humans. Kerouac seems to embrace this notion too because it expresses an essential truth about the human condition. He was inspired by a dove in Tristessa s house, Yet so much like Tristessa s eyes that I wish I could comment and tell Tristessa: Thou hast the dove s eyes. (Kerouac 26) the Dove represents the communication between the two worlds and more importantly it represents peace of the deepest kind. It sooths all our worries and troubled thoughts. It helps to appreciate the little things in life. • 36. Cultural Differences Between Race And Ethnicity First, race and ethnicity are defined as different concepts, the first being biological and the second cultural. The key point to understand both concepts separately are the social labels used by a society, to classify its members biologically and culturally. While race is based on the popular perception of people s physical traits, ethnicity separates them by cultural characteristics. Members of a group share the same language, accent, religion, history, and even national origin. Most of the time, ethnicity is something that is obtained through learning, under the form and lifestyle, among others. Ethnic origin, on the other hand, is determined by the social and cultural groups to which it belongs. One can have more of an ethnic background, but only one race, even if it is mixed. Contrary to ethnic groups, of which there are thousands or more, there are only a few racial groups. Another difference between race and ethnicity is related to the ability to identify oneself. A person cannot choose his race; this is assigned to him based on his physical characteristics. However one can choose ethnicity. A person can learn a certain language, social norms, and customs, in addition to assimilating a culture and being part of that ethnic group. Ethnicity is a requirement of identity on the part of the people since there are identification and feeling of belonging to an ethnic group but at the same time a feeling of exclusion from other groups due to this affiliation. The great problem of ethnic differences is that throughout the history of mankind there have been constant persecutions towards minorities even though there are no physical differences among the population.
