LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL
UT Permian Basin remains atop the Lone Star Conference standings at 10-1, while West Texas A&M is just behind them
at 9-2. The Falcons and Buffs meet for the second time this season on Tuesday in Canyon, Texas.
LSC action continues this week with action on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The LSC men have a 116-85 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams
are currently 20-14 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 16-6 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Corinthian Ramsey, Tarleton State University, JR, Guard, Arlington, Texas, Mansfield Summit HS
Ramsey has pushed Tarleton back into the top half of the LSC standings thanks to his stellar play on the offensive end. In
a pair of wins over Cameron and Midwestern State, Ramsey averaged 26 points on 61 percent shooting, including 56
percent on 3-pointers (9-of-16) and 90 percent at the free-throw line. Ramsey also averaged six assists, five rebounds
and 1.5 steals in the two games. In a 68-59 win over CU, Ramsey scored a game-high 29 points and matched a career
high with eight assists to go with five rebounds. When the Aggies climbed back to within four points, Ramsey scored 11
points in the final 10 minutes to clinch the win. Against MSU, Ramsey showed off his all-around game with a team-high
23 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in an 82-75 win. Ramsey scored 14 of his 23 points in the second
half after the Texans were down by one at the break. With only a five-point lead in the final two minutes, Ramsey drilled
a 3-pointer to push the lead back up to eight that led to the win.
DEFENSIVE
Josh Hawley, Tarleton State University, SO, Forward, Irving, Texas, MacArthur HS
Hawley was the defensive anchor that led Tarleton to a pair of wins over Cameron and Midwestern State last week.
Hawley nearly averaged a double-double with 9.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. The sophomore also averaged 1.5
blocks and 2.5 steals. Hawley had a monster game in a 68-59 win over CU, grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds to go
with 11 points for his ninth double-double of the season. Hawley also matched a career high with four steals and
blocked a pair of shots. Hawley's defensive rebound total (15) was half the total rebounds that CU had as a team (30)
and helped hold the Aggies to 35 percent shooting. Against MSU, Hawley grabbed 10 rebounds to go with eight points.
Hawley's defensive rebound in the final seconds of a 5-point game helped the Texans hold on for the win. Opponents
only shot 39 percent against the Hawley-led Texan defense.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Daeshon Francis, UT Permian Basin, had another spectacular week for UT Permian Basin, averaging 21 points, eight
rebounds and 7.5 assists while shooting 64 percent from the field in a pair of wins over Western New Mexico and
Eastern New Mexico. He recorded his first triple-double at UTPB in the 123-83 win over the Mustangs, scoring 22 points
with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, leading the team in all three categories. He came back to score 20 points with six
rebounds and five assists in a 94-77 win against the Greyhounds. He is the leading scorer on the season in the Lone Star
Conference, averaging 20.8 points for the 18-2 Falcons.
Zach Parker, Eastern New Mexico University, on a two-game road trip against the top teams in the Lone Star
Conference, Zach Parker put together one of his best performances for the Greyhounds. He drained three three-point
shots against 11th-ranked West Texas A&M to lead Eastern with 16 points. On Saturday, he reached the 20-point mark
for the third time this season, with a 24-point outburst against ninth-ranked UT Permian Basin. Against the Falcons,
Parker hit 50 percent of his shots from the floor.
Drew Evans, West Texas A&M University, had a pair of double-digit performances, including a career-high 23 points
in a 99-55 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday. He went a career best 8 of 11 from the field with a career-tying
two triples and a career-best 5-5 from the line. He had one rebound and tied his career-high with three steals. For the
week in wins over WNMU and Eastern New Mexico, Evans led the team averaging 16.5 points on 11 of 15 from the field
(.733), while going 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and a perfect 7 of 7 from the line. He had three rebounds and four steals
coming off the bench in both games averaging 20.5 minutes. Evans and the Buffs forced 40 turnovers and 17 steals as
Evans led the way with four thefts. WT held the opposition to .279 from the field and .208 from beyond the arc in the
two wins. The 23 points marked the first time he had scored over 20 in his career and his second and third double-digit
scoring games of the season.
CJ Vanbeekum, Western New Mexico, started the week off right pouring in a career-high 25 points versus the
Falcons. He made 8-14 from the field, 5-10 from three, 4-4 from the foul line and added three rebounds and three
steals. He added seven points, two rebounds and a block versus the Buffs. He went 10-22 from the field and 6-16 from
three for the week, along with five rebounds, a block and two steals.
James Kirksey, Angelo State University, continues to play a major role in the Rams offensive attack. Leading the
team as he averaged 15 points per game for the week, Kirksey dropped 12 against Texas A&M-Kingsville and then a
team leading 18 against Dallas Christian. The junior was 60 percent from both inside the arch and from the stripe. The
Chester, Pennsylvania native also distributed the rock well with a team second seven assists on the week. Defensively,
he also grabbed a squad second 4.5 boards per game and pocketed three total steals.
Reggie Reid, Texas A&M University-Commerce, averaged 14 points per game last week and was a major contributor
in the Lions' overtime win against Midwestern State. He had five points and three assists in limited action in the Lions'
win over Dallas Christian. He then had 29 points, including the buzzer-beating three pointer to send the game into
overtime against Midwestern. Reid also had five assists in the game and scored 20 of his points in the second half and
overtime. He then had eight points and three assists against Cameron. Reid is fourth in the LSC in assists, 10th in scoring
and third in steals.
Josh Morris, UT Permian Basin, was a force on the inside this past week, averaging 15 points on 70 percent shooting
while averaging 11 rebounds in a pair of wins over Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. He scored 13 points
with seven boards against the Mustangs as one of five Falcons in double figures. Two days later he had one of his best
lines of the season, scoring 17 points on 7-9 shooting with 15 rebounds, seven on the offensive end, and six assists.
Jon-Reese Woodson, Western New Mexico, posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds against West
Texas A&M. In that game, he went 3-8 from the field and had nine defensive rebounds. To start the week against the
Falcons, he added 11 points and four rebounds, along with a block and a steal. For the week he went 8-17 from the field,
had 16 rebounds, 11 on the defensive end and both a block and steal.
Ryan Quaid, West Texas A&M University, averaged 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of wins over the New
Mexico schools this week. He went 10 of 13 from the field for a team-best .769 average, while going 9-13 from the line.
Quaid pulled down three offensive rebounds and 11 defensive for 14 for the week and had one assist, two blocks and
one steal averaging 19.5 minutes per game. Quaid and the Buffs held the opposition to just .279 from the field and .208
from beyond the arc, while forcing 40 turnovers and recording 17 steals.
Brandon Williams, Angelo State University, remains the defensive leader for the Rams as he grabbed a team leading
6.5 boards per game. This included a 10 rebound, 22-point squad leading double-double performance against Texas
A&M -Kingsville. The senior leader also continues to lead the Rams in the block category as he added another pair this
week. Offensively, he was 76.9 percent from short and a perfect 8-8 from the stripe as he averaged a team second 14
points per game for the two games.
JV Long, Cameron University, led Cameron to a 1-1 split last week with a big game in the win over No. 18 Texas
A&M-Commerce on Saturday. The junior scored 20 points while leading CU with four steals and six assists. Long
averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in the two game span. He helped the Aggie defense record
17 total steals while holding two good offenses to an average of 65 points and forcing them into 34 total turnovers. Long
now leads the LSC with 1.8 steals per contest.
Daquane Willford, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had two blocks and seven steals last week. He had three steals
against Dallas Christian on Monday, helping the Lion defense hold DCC to 28 percent shooting. Willford then had three
steals against Midwestern in the Lions' overtime win. He also assisted on the game-tying three pointer in the game and
had a steal in the final seconds of overtime to help the Lions to the three-point win. Willford then had two blocks and a
steal against Cameron. He is 10th in the LSC in steals per game.

Angelo State
Angelo State closed out week adding a pair of wins to its record. The Rams first downed Texas A&M-Kingsville before
dominating Dallas Christian. ASU will hit the road this coming week to continue its conference play with stops at
Cameron and Midwestern State.
Cameron
The Aggie men split their week with a 68-59 loss to Tarleton State and an upset win over No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce,
84-62. Cameron's defense was on display as they recorded 17 steals for the two game span and held two really good
offenses to an average of 65 points. JV Long led CU with an average of 13 points, with 20 against the Lions, to go along
with 11 assists and five steals. Jalen Nicholas also performed well last week, scoring 12.5 points and grabbing seven
rebounds per game.
Eastern New Mexico
Last week, the Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team visited #11 West Texas A&M and #9 UT Permian Basin.
Against the Lone Star Conference's two top teams, the Greyhounds shot .377 from the floor and averaged 70 points.
Zach Parker had an outstanding week and averaged 20 points per game. Eastern's 10 turnovers at UTPB were the teams
fewest since the previous meeting against UTPB, in November.The Hounds have shot above 70 percent from the free
throw line in five of the last six games. This week, ENMU will host Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State begins a five-game home stand Monday night against St. Mary's (Texas)... The Mustangs play five of
their last seven Lone Star Conference game on their home floor at D.L. Ligon Coliseum... Senior guard Brandon Neel
notched his seventh 20-point scoring effort finishing with 27 points on the strength of a season-high five 3-pointers
Saturday at Tarleton State... Neel was 7-of-10 from the field and scored all of his 17 points after halftime in MSU's
overtime loss at No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday... Senior guard Devante Pullum was a perfect 7-for-7 with
five 3-pointers in the first half Saturday at Tarleton State. He finished with 21 points... Senior guard Trey Kennedy
erupted for 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting with two 3-pointers Thursday night at Texas A&M-Commerce... Junior forward
Wanaah Bail was perfect from the floor hitting all five of his shots from the field with a 3-pointer while going 2-for-2
from the charity stripe to finish with 13 points and six rebounds Thursday at Texas A&M-Commerce... Junior forward Ola
Ayodele is averaging 8.3 points, 11 rebounds and 2.7 assists in his last three outings -- all starts -- for Midwestern State...
Tarleton State
2-0 last week.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The No. 18 Lions went 2-1 last week. They defeated Dallas Christian on Monday 92-56. They then defeated Midwestern
State in overtime on Thursday. They then fell to Cameron on Saturday. The Lions set out on the first two games of a five-
game road trip with games against Western and Eastern New Mexico.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
0-1 last week.
UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin went 2-0 this week, picking up a pair of conference home wins over Western New Mexico and Eastern
New Mexico. Daeshon Francis earned his first triple double of his career at UTPB, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds
and 10 assists in a 123-83 win over Western New Mexico. The Falcons shot 61 percent as a team in the victory with five
players scoring in double figures. UTPB had six players score at least 10 points in a 94-77 win against Eastern New
Mexico, led by 20 points from Francis. Josh Morris went 7-9 from the field, scoring 17 points with 15 rebounds and six
assists. Francis is now only four points away from 1,000 in his career at UTPB.
West Texas A&M
The No. 11 West Texas A&M men's basketball team went 2-0 this week and improved to 19-2 overall and 9-2 in LSC play
with a pair of dominating wins over Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico...WT downed ENMU 82-63 and
WNMU 99-55...Four players were in double figures for the week for the Buffs led by a career-game from sophomore
Drew Evans against Western New Mexico as he went 8 of 11 from the field, 2 of 5 from beyond the arc and 5 of 5 from
the line for a career-high 23 points...Evans paced the Buffs averaging 16.5 points for the week, while junior Ryan Quaid
averaged 7.0 rebounds per game...Defensively WT shutdown the opposition, holding the teams to just .279 from the
field and .208 from beyond the arc, while forcing 40 turnovers and recording 17 steals and allowing just 59.0 points per
game...The 55 points allowed against WNMU was a season-low for the Buffs and marked the second time this season
WT has held the opposition to under 60 points...The Buffs host nationally ranked UT Permian Basin in a key LSC matchup
Tuesday with LSC title and regional implications at 7:30 p.m. in the First United Bank Center.
Western New Mexico
CJ Vanbeekum's career-high 25 points against UT Permian Basin and Jon-Reese Woodson's double-double against West
Texas A&M highlighted the individual performances for the Mustangs this week. Woodson, Alex Gonzalez-Alvarez and
Haneef Vaughn-Wilson also had strong offensive weeks. Vanbeekum started the week off right pouring in a career-high
25 points versus the Falcons. He made 8-14 from the field, 5-10 from three, 4-4 from the foul line and added three
rebounds and three steals. He added seven points, two rebounds and a block versus the Buffs. He went 10-22 from the
field and 6-16 from three for the week, along with five rebounds, a block and two steals. Woodson posted a double-
double with 10 points and 12 rebounds against West Texas A&M. In that game he went 3-8 from the field and had nine
defensive rebounds. To start the week against the Falcons, he added 11 points and four rebounds, along with a block
and a steal. For the week he went 8-17 from the field, had 16 rebounds, 11 on the defensive end and both a block and
steal.

The Falcons and Buffs meet for the second time this season on Tuesday in Canyon, Texas. LSC action continues this week with action on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The LSC men have a 116-85 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are currently 20-14 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 16-6 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. LSC schedule and results available here: http://www.lonestarconference.org/calendar.aspx?path=mbball&& PLAYERS OF THE WEEK OFFENSIVE Corinthian Ramsey, Tarleton State University, JR, Guard, Arlington, Texas, Mansfield Summit HS Ramsey has pushed Tarleton back into the top half of the LSC standings thanks to his stellar play on the offensive end. In a pair of wins over Cameron and Midwestern State, Ramsey averaged 26 points on 61 percent shooting, including 56 percent on 3-pointers (9-of-16) and 90 percent at the free-throw line. Ramsey also averaged six assists, five rebounds and 1.5 steals in the two games. In a 68-59 win over CU, Ramsey scored a game-high 29 points and matched a career high with eight assists to go with five rebounds. When the Aggies climbed back to within four points, Ramsey scored 11 points in the final 10 minutes to clinch the win. Against MSU, Ramsey showed off his all-around game with a team-high 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in an 82-75 win. Ramsey scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half after the Texans were down by one at the break. With only a five-point lead in the final two minutes, Ramsey drilled a 3-pointer to push the lead back up to eight that led to the win. DEFENSIVE Josh Hawley, Tarleton State University, SO, Forward, Irving, Texas, MacArthur HS Hawley was the defensive anchor that led Tarleton to a pair of wins over Cameron and Midwestern State last week. Hawley nearly averaged a double-double with 9.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. The sophomore also averaged 1.5 blocks and 2.5 steals. Hawley had a monster game in a 68-59 win over CU, grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds to go with 11 points for his ninth double-double of the season. Hawley also matched a career high with four steals and blocked a pair of shots. Hawley's defensive rebound total (15) was half the total rebounds that CU had as a team (30) and helped hold the Aggies to 35 percent shooting. Against MSU, Hawley grabbed 10 rebounds to go with eight points. Hawley's defensive rebound in the final seconds of a 5-point game helped the Texans hold on for the win. Opponents only shot 39 percent against the Hawley-led Texan defense.

He recorded his first triple-double at UTPB in the 123-83 win over the Mustangs, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, leading the team in all three categories. He came back to score 20 points with six rebounds and five assists in a 94-77 win against the Greyhounds. He is the leading scorer on the season in the Lone Star Conference, averaging 20.8 points for the 18-2 Falcons. Zach Parker, Eastern New Mexico University, on a two-game road trip against the top teams in the Lone Star Conference, Zach Parker put together one of his best performances for the Greyhounds. He drained three three-point shots against 11th-ranked West Texas A&M to lead Eastern with 16 points. On Saturday, he reached the 20-point mark for the third time this season, with a 24-point outburst against ninth-ranked UT Permian Basin. Against the Falcons, Parker hit 50 percent of his shots from the floor. Drew Evans, West Texas A&M University, had a pair of double-digit performances, including a career-high 23 points in a 99-55 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday. He went a career best 8 of 11 from the field with a career-tying two triples and a career-best 5-5 from the line. He had one rebound and tied his career-high with three steals. For the week in wins over WNMU and Eastern New Mexico, Evans led the team averaging 16.5 points on 11 of 15 from the field (.733), while going 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and a perfect 7 of 7 from the line. He had three rebounds and four steals coming off the bench in both games averaging 20.5 minutes. Evans and the Buffs forced 40 turnovers and 17 steals as Evans led the way with four thefts.   • 3. two wins. The 23 points marked the first time he had scored over 20 in his career and his second and third double-digit scoring games of the season. CJ Vanbeekum, Western New Mexico, started the week off right pouring in a career-high 25 points versus the Falcons. He made 8-14 from the field, 5-10 from three, 4-4 from the foul line and added three rebounds and three steals. He added seven points, two rebounds and a block versus the Buffs. He went 10-22 from the field and 6-16 from three for the week, along with five rebounds, a block and two steals. James Kirksey, Angelo State University, continues to play a major role in the Rams offensive attack. Leading the team as he averaged 15 points per game for the week, Kirksey dropped 12 against Texas A&M-Kingsville and then a team leading 18 against Dallas Christian. The junior was 60 percent from both inside the arch and from the stripe. The Chester, Pennsylvania native also distributed the rock well with a team second seven assists on the week. Defensively, he also grabbed a squad second 4.5 boards per game and pocketed three total steals. Reggie Reid, Texas A&M University-Commerce, averaged 14 points per game last week and was a major contributor in the Lions' overtime win against Midwestern State. He had five points and three assists in limited action in the Lions' win over Dallas Christian. He then had 29 points, including the buzzer-beating three pointer to send the game into overtime against Midwestern. Reid also had five assists in the game and scored 20 of his points in the second half and overtime. He then had eight points and three assists against Cameron. Reid is fourth in the LSC in assists, 10th in scoring and third in steals. Josh Morris, UT Permian Basin, was a force on the inside this past week, averaging 15 points on 70 percent shooting while averaging 11 rebounds in a pair of wins over Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. He scored 13 points with seven boards against the Mustangs as one of five Falcons in double figures. Two days later he had one of his best lines of the season, scoring 17 points on 7-9 shooting with 15 rebounds, seven on the offensive end, and six assists. Jon-Reese Woodson, Western New Mexico, posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds against West Texas A&M. In that game, he went 3-8 from the field and had nine defensive rebounds. To start the week against the Falcons, he added 11 points and four rebounds, along with a block and a steal. For the week he went 8-17 from the field, had 16 rebounds, 11 on the defensive end and both a block and steal. Ryan Quaid, West Texas A&M University, averaged 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of wins over the New Mexico schools this week. He went 10 of 13 from the field for a team-best .769 average, while going 9-13 from the line. Quaid pulled down three offensive rebounds and 11 defensive for 14 for the week and had one assist, two blocks and one steal averaging 19.5 minutes per game. Quaid and the Buffs held the opposition to just .279 from the field and .208 from beyond the arc, while forcing 40 turnovers and recording 17 steals. Brandon Williams, Angelo State University, remains the defensive leader for the Rams as he grabbed a team leading 6.5 boards per game. This included a 10 rebound, 22-point squad leading double-double performance against Texas A&M -Kingsville. The senior leader also continues to lead the Rams in the block category as he added another pair this week. Offensively, he was 76.9 percent from short and a perfect 8-8 from the stripe as he averaged a team second 14 points per game for the two games. JV Long, Cameron University, led Cameron to a 1-1 split last week with a big game in the win over No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday. The junior scored 20 points while leading CU with four steals and six assists. Long averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.5 steals in the two game span. He helped the Aggie defense record 17 total steals while holding two good offenses to an average of 65 points and forcing them into 34 total turnovers. Long now leads the LSC with 1.8 steals per contest. Daquane Willford, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had two blocks and seven steals last week. He had three steals against Dallas Christian on Monday, helping the Lion defense hold DCC to 28 percent shooting. Willford then had three steals against Midwestern in the Lions' overtime win. He also assisted on the game-tying three pointer in the game and had a steal in the final seconds of overtime to help the Lions to the three-point win. Willford then had two blocks and a steal against Cameron. He is 10th in the LSC in steals per game.
  • 4. LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State Angelo State closed out week adding a pair of wins to its record. The Rams first downed Texas A&M-Kingsville before dominating Dallas Christian. ASU will hit the road this coming week to continue its conference play with stops at Cameron and Midwestern State. Cameron The Aggie men split their week with a 68-59 loss to Tarleton State and an upset win over No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce, 84-62. Cameron's defense was on display as they recorded 17 steals for the two game span and held two really good offenses to an average of 65 points. JV Long led CU with an average of 13 points, with 20 against the Lions, to go along with 11 assists and five steals. Jalen Nicholas also performed well last week, scoring 12.5 points and grabbing seven rebounds per game. Eastern New Mexico Last week, the Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team visited #11 West Texas A&M and #9 UT Permian Basin. Against the Lone Star Conference's two top teams, the Greyhounds shot .377 from the floor and averaged 70 points. Zach Parker had an outstanding week and averaged 20 points per game. Eastern's 10 turnovers at UTPB were the teams fewest since the previous meeting against UTPB, in November.The Hounds have shot above 70 percent from the free throw line in five of the last six games. This week, ENMU will host Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce. Midwestern State Midwestern State begins a five-game home stand Monday night against St. Mary's (Texas)... The Mustangs play five of their last seven Lone Star Conference game on their home floor at D.L. Ligon Coliseum... Senior guard Brandon Neel notched his seventh 20-point scoring effort finishing with 27 points on the strength of a season-high five 3-pointers Saturday at Tarleton State... Neel was 7-of-10 from the field and scored all of his 17 points after halftime in MSU's overtime loss at No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday... Senior guard Devante Pullum was a perfect 7-for-7 with five 3-pointers in the first half Saturday at Tarleton State. He finished with 21 points... Senior guard Trey Kennedy erupted for 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting with two 3-pointers Thursday night at Texas A&M-Commerce... Junior forward Wanaah Bail was perfect from the floor hitting all five of his shots from the field with a 3-pointer while going 2-for-2 from the charity stripe to finish with 13 points and six rebounds Thursday at Texas A&M-Commerce... Junior forward Ola Ayodele is averaging 8.3 points, 11 rebounds and 2.7 assists in his last three outings -- all starts -- for Midwestern State... Tarleton State 2-0 last week. Texas A&M-Commerce The No. 18 Lions went 2-1 last week. They defeated Dallas Christian on Monday 92-56. They then defeated Midwestern State in overtime on Thursday.   • 5. UT Permian Basin went 2-0 this week, picking up a pair of conference home wins over Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. Daeshon Francis earned his first triple double of his career at UTPB, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 123-83 win over Western New Mexico. The Falcons shot 61 percent as a team in the victory with five players scoring in double figures. UTPB had six players score at least 10 points in a 94-77 win against Eastern New Mexico, led by 20 points from Francis. Josh Morris went 7-9 from the field, scoring 17 points with 15 rebounds and six assists. Francis is now only four points away from 1,000 in his career at UTPB. West Texas A&M The No. 11 West Texas A&M men's basketball team went 2-0 this week and improved to 19-2 overall and 9-2 in LSC play with a pair of dominating wins over Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico...WT downed ENMU 82-63 and WNMU 99-55...Four players were in double figures for the week for the Buffs led by a career-game from sophomore Drew Evans against Western New Mexico as he went 8 of 11 from the field, 2 of 5 from beyond the arc and 5 of 5 from the line for a career-high 23 points...Evans paced the Buffs averaging 16.5 points for the week, while junior Ryan Quaid averaged 7.0 rebounds per game...Defensively WT shutdown the opposition, holding the teams to just .279 from the field and .208 from beyond the arc, while forcing 40 turnovers and recording 17 steals and allowing just 59.0 points per game...The 55 points allowed against WNMU was a season-low for the Buffs and marked the second time this season WT has held the opposition to under 60 points...The Buffs host nationally ranked UT Permian Basin in a key LSC matchup Tuesday with LSC title and regional implications at 7:30 p.m. in the First United Bank Center. Western New Mexico CJ Vanbeekum's career-high 25 points against UT Permian Basin and Jon-Reese Woodson's double-double against West Texas A&M highlighted the individual performances for the Mustangs this week.
