How did we create our Logo?
The process started off with me and my group
analysing and getting inspiration from other existing
logos and recognising what makes them different to
others. We needed to look at other Logos to make
sure that we understood how ours needed to look
and whether we needed text, colour etc. Another
decision that needed to be made before we started
designing our logo was the timeframe that the
programme was going to get broadcasted at and
who our target audience were.
How did we create our Logo?
After discussions and debates we came to the
conclusion that our TV News Programme was
going to be aimed at teenagers. We also decided
that the broadcast was going to be shown in the
morning before most teenagers go to school, we
seen this as a gap in the market because most
individuals do not have any knowledge of what is
going on in the world around them or locally due to
how busy they are in the day so we saw a gap in
the News industry where we could target the
teenagers and give them a simple interesting
news programme in the morning.
What logos did we analyse?
To start of the logo creation process we analysed
existing logos to understand what we had to include
and what sort of thing we had to create for our own
production. When analysing the logos we focused
on colours that were used compared to what time of
day that News Programme was on in the day, we
also looked at the different fonts and shapes that
were used for each one.
We realised that all 3 of the logos used
bold, bright primary colours that were not
too complicated and easy to recognise for
the audience. We also noticed that the
colours that were being used on the logo
were the main colours that were used in
the TV News programme itself. This is to
make sure that it looks professional but
simple.

The creation of our logo...
Our first step was to go onto
Google and look for a wavy
line that we were going to
use on our logo. This is
going to be used to
represent our chosen
timeframe of the morning
by using the line as a
sunrise which happens in
the morning times and
helps to reassure the target
audience of what they are
watching.

When we came to put the
line in Photoshop we
realised that we had to
crop the line to the size
we wanted and make it
slightly transparent and
then changed the colour
of this line to white so
that it could fit in with
the colours we were
using on our logo and
TV News Programme.

We chose the font of our text and
made to “M” but one was upside
down the other and we made it
more transparent to make it look
like it is a reflection. The last
thing we had to do was choose
the shape of our logo which was
a circle. We then had to fit an
ombre colour to the shape
which made our logo look like
the sunset above water. The
logo represents Morning
Midlands. We were very happy
with our creation and we think it
is going help with being able to
attract our target audience
because it looks appealing.

Logo creation analysis

  • 2. How did we create our Logo? The process started off with me and my group analysing and getting inspiration from other existing logos and recognising what makes them different to others. We needed to look at other Logos to make sure that we understood how ours needed to look and whether we needed text, colour etc. Another decision that needed to be made before we started designing our logo was the timeframe that the programme was going to get broadcasted at and who our target audience were.
  • 3. How did we create our Logo? After discussions and debates we came to the conclusion that our TV News Programme was going to be aimed at teenagers. We also decided that the broadcast was going to be shown in the morning before most teenagers go to school, we seen this as a gap in the market because most individuals do not have any knowledge of what is going on in the world around them or locally due to how busy they are in the day so we saw a gap in the News industry where we could target the teenagers and give them a simple interesting news programme in the morning.
  • 4. What logos did we analyse? To start of the logo creation process we analysed existing logos to understand what we had to include and what sort of thing we had to create for our own production. When analysing the logos we focused on colours that were used compared to what time of day that News Programme was on in the day, we also looked at the different fonts and shapes that were used for each one. We realised that all 3 of the logos used bold, bright primary colours that were not too complicated and easy to recognise for the audience. We also noticed that the colours that were being used on the logo were the main colours that were used in the TV News programme itself. This is to make sure that it looks professional but simple. Yellow represents the sun and the broadcast is in the morning which reassures the target audience of what they are watching. Colours of the American flag being used to make sure the audience know what they are watching and the same colours make it memorable to the target audience.
  • 5. The creation of our logo... Our first step was to go onto Google and look for a wavy line that we were going to use on our logo. This is going to be used to represent our chosen timeframe of the morning by using the line as a sunrise which happens in the morning times and helps to reassure the target audience of what they are watching.
  • 6. The creation of our logo... When we came to put the line in Photoshop we realised that we had to crop the line to the size we wanted and make it slightly transparent and then changed the colour of this line to white so that it could fit in with the colours we were using on our logo and TV News Programme.
  • 7. The creation of our logo... We chose the font of our text and made to “M” but one was upside down the other and we made it more transparent to make it look like it is a reflection. The last thing we had to do was choose the shape of our logo which was a circle. We then had to fit an ombre colour to the shape which made our logo look like the sunset above water. The logo represents Morning Midlands. We were very happy with our creation and we think it is going help with being able to attract our target audience because it looks appealing.
