3. OVERVIEW

Adobe Flash has different workspace that can be set
up before on can start illustrating or animating. In fact,
animators who are still new to their craft make sure
that all tools are set up before starting with their
masterpiece. In this lesson you will learn how to set up
the Flash interface and arrange panels. This skill will
help you to easily locate the tools needed when you
start with your first drawing or animation.

To start Flash CS6 in Microsoft Windows just locate
adobe flash professional CS6 from the start menu.
1. Click start menu
2. Then look for adobe flash
program

STAGE
The white rectangular main work area in the Adobe Flash
professional workspace. Objects you place on the stage will appear
in your published movie or app.
TIMELINE PANEL
Is where you control the images and sounds in your Flash
document. The timeline is divided into frames. These frames are
used to organize and control the content of your document. Place
the frames in the timeline in the order you want the objects to
appear in your finished content.

LAYER PANEL
It shows all the active object we insert in our flash project.
TOOL PANEL
Provides the tools that you need for drawing and painting.
PROPERTIES PANEL
Provides easy access to the most commonly used attributes of the
currently selected object either on the stage or in the timeline.

SWITCHING BETWEEN WORKSPACES
1. Launch Flash CS6 and choose file > New > ActionScript 3.0.
click OK.
2. After an empty Flash document open, click the Essential
button near the search text box on the upper right of the Flash
Workspace.
3. Select a press workspace in the workspace switcher. Try
selecting each of the presets and see how they differ.
In case the different views don’t satisfy your needs, you can actually customize the
workspace preset list. When you are already familiar with the panels, you can create your
own workspace

To Create a custom workspace:
1. Click ESSENTIALS near the search box.
2. Select New Workspace.
3. Type the name of your new workspace.
4. And you can click, drag and drop your
toolbar in your chosen places for your
new workspace.
