Tesco s biggest weakness is its increasing of debt. As growing its network worldwide, Tesco has

products from the market. This has been concluded in a huge financial loss also, has been damaged its

Tesco has created some political impact in their policies and if we talk about political analyses of
Tesco then the first country comes up which is China. Tesco has eliminated all barriers to encourage
the western companies. The main purpose for it to pass in the world that it may include the more
profitable market which can consist of more than 1.3 million persons.
The strength of Tesco s political analysis shows the agreement which was signed by Tesco to develop

included three commercial centers in China and also, included 18 supermarkets which were opened in
2010.
Economics
The economics factors are bit sign of worry for Tesco since they effect directly to buy of clients

recession and due to this the positive aspect is that the clients to eat less and to eat in house that also
offer opportunities for the retailers to increase its production and Tesco were on top in production.

A Report On Ficer Corps
GySgt Daniel Daly once said, Any officer can get by on his sergeants. To be a sergeant you have to
know your stuff. I d rather be an outstanding sergeant that just another officer. Imagining and Marine
Corps without any NCOs is to imagine a Marine Corps that doesn t exist. There would be no boot
camp because there would be no drill instructors. There would be no outstanding specialists to
transform into warrant officers; aircraft, weapons and trucks would rust and break down never to be
repaired and finally and most importantly there would be no accountability. Noncommissioned
officers are as old as war itself. In the seventh century the smallest tactical unit in the Roman legion
was commanded by a centurion who is akin to a gunnery sergeant. The condottieri, or mercenaries, we
professionals who served under any state that would pay and feed them; in their companies the ranks
of corporal and sergeant were born. In 1778, Baron von Steuben wrote the main purpose of the
noncommissioned officer corps is to decentralize command authority in an orderly fashion down to
the smallest element in an organization. In other words, NCOs exist to teach Marines, execute orders,
take care of people and cushion the contact with officers. On becoming an NCO we receive a
certificate of appointment; often referred to as a warrant. This document is the basis of our authority,
rank, status and responsibilities and the words on it sum up the reasons why the Marine Corps

Shakespeare’s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and...
Shakespeare s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and Cleopatra As the title clearly suggests,
Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is based around the extraordinary relationship among two
distinctive individuals, one a Roman general and the other an Egyptian queen. Along with Caesar who
is also a Roman general, these entities dominate the play s tragic storyline progression. However
whilst Antony and Cleopatra centres around a provocative love affair, Shakespeare makes it evident
that there is a good deal larger tensions involved, a collision course between two worlds. Antony and
Cleopatra details the conflict between Rome and Egypt, it demonstrates the differences between
Eastern and Western ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Antony and Cleopatra, West and East collide, but it does not in spite of Caesar s conquest over the
land of Egypt, defeat it. Cleopatra s suicide implies that a touch of the East s character, the freedoms
and fervour that are not signified in the play s notion of the West, cannot be listed by Caesar s victory.
The play proposes that the East will survive on as a perceptible and invincible counterpart to the West,
bound as inseparably and everlastingly as Antony and Cleopatra are in their mausoleum. As the play
develops, Antony continues to occupy contradictory characteristics that play out the struggle between
motive and feeling. In one instance, he is the rancorous war hero whom Caesar eulogizes and fears.
Almost immediately after that, he surrenders his military designation by foolishly allowing Cleopatra
to establish his course of action. As his Roman friends, even the faithful Enobarbus desert him,
Antony feels that he has, without a doubt, lost himself in old age, and he resolves to salvage his
dignified individuality by killing his self. Originally, this act may emerge to be a victory of motive
over fervour, of Western consciousness over Eastern ones, but the play is not as straightforward as
that. Even though Antony departs this life deeming himself a man of reverence,

Government s Role on Health Care Essay
Introduction Have you ever wondered exactly what the government does for our country in regards to
health care? Many have the impression that the government is not really of much assistance to them.
However, in reality, the government does more than most people realize. The government actually
plays a vital role in health care but most people look past it. I am sure very few people have actually
sat down and pondered or even have done research to find out the impact of the government s role in
health care. However, I intend to clear up this misconception. The federal and state governments are
the largest supporters of health care services in the United States. Examples of support that our
government provides include assisting those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Federal Employee Health benefit program is the largest employer health insurance program in the
United States, insuring about 3 percent of all Americans. There are 133 plans, offering 188 coverage
options that are participating in the FEHBP as of 2003. Preferred provider organization (PPO), fee for
service plans, and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) all offer options. The government s
contribution toward the cost of the beneficiary s premium is lesser of 72 percent of the average
FEHBP plan premium, weighted by enrollment, or 75 percent of the premium for the plan chosen
(Karen Davis) . Just as importantly, the government funds and provides health care directly to many
others who work or have previously worked for the federal government as well. Programs such as the
Defense Department are for active duty and retired personnel and their families that visit facilities
owned by the government, using health care providers who work for the government. Nearly 7.8
million veterans out of the 25 million in the veteran population receive care directly from the Veterans
Health Administration, a division of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). This care is also
delivered in government owned facilities, by providers employed by the government. The Indian

Pathology and Treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
The pulmonary vasculature contains arteries and arterioles, which branch in the lungs to create a dense
capillary bed to provide blood flow. The pulmonary capillary bed is a high volume, low pressure, low
resistance system that delivers blood to and from the lungs via the arterial and venous circulation
systems. The right ventricle of the heart is responsible for pumping blood to the pulmonary artery and
to the lungs so it can be oxygenated while the left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood to the tissues.
Typically, hypertension refers to high blood pressure in the systemic circulation, however, an increase
in blood pressure may also occur in pulmonary circulation. The pulmonary artery supplying blood to
the lungs can become narrowed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increased levels of pro inflammatory cytokines and chemokines result in an infiltration of
inflammatory cells forming plexiform lesions consisting of T cells, B cells and macrophages (Savaj et
al., 2012). Scleroderma, or systemic sclerosis, is a connective tissue disease characterized by a
thickening of the skin. Accumulation of collagen by fibroblasts, platelet adhesion and a type II
hypersensitivity reaction lead to endothelial damage. Endothelial damage and decreased vasodilatation
result in increased arterial pressure leading to PAH (Mclaughlin, 2009). Patients generally have a poor
prognosis unless detected early, as a cure for slceroderma does not exist.
Patients with advanced liver disease can also develop PAH. Portopulmonary hypertension (PPH) is a
combination of high blood pressure in the portal and pulmonary systems. Unless transplantation can
occur, prognosis for these patients is less than ideal. In order to be considered for transplantation,
patients must have a mean arterial pressure less than or equal to 35 mm Hg.
Long term cocaine and methamphetamine abuse have been linked to developing PAH (McLaughin et
al., 2009). Cocaine can cause overexcitement of the sympathetic nervous system triggering an erratic,
potentially severe condition called vasospasm, which involves a rapid

African Americans And The United States
Although African Americans make up merely fourteen percent of the U.S. population, thirty seven
percent of people who are homeless are African Americans. Forty two percent of African American
children are educated in all high poverty schools. In 2012, the mean critical reading SAT score for
college accepted students was 428 for African Americans and 527 for whites. For mathematics, it was
428 for African Americans and 536 for whites. For writing it was 417 for African Americans and 515
for whites (National Center for Educational Statistics). These staggering data manage to encompass
just a few of the issues that are prevalent among African Americans in the United States. However,
people may find themselves wondering how these figures came to be; who is responsible and what can
be done? Many will begin turning to stereotypes for justification of this issue: African Americans are
lazy, African Americans are criminals, African Americans are indifferent towards education. Indeed,
that shallow assumption can be made made based on sole observation, but further research unveils an
extraordinarily different conclusion. In order to understand this, one must dig deep into the history
books and study the turbulent past of African Americans. Doing so, I was able to form a deduction that
shows the origin of so many issues that the African American community is pressed with. African
Americans experience the ramifications of their pasts everyday through the effects of denied access to

Theme Of Ode On The Death Of Goldfishes By Thomas Gray
The ultimate goal many desire is material wealth, chasing fortune in their careers, relationships, or
recreation. Morals and intellect sometimes deteriorate in pursuit of this goal, as the coveted wealthy
status takes precedence over the weight of virtue. Thomas Gray, in his Ode on the Death of a
Favourite Cat Drowned in a Tub of Goldfishes , pokes satiric fun at the use of the ode while
simultaneously constructing a cautionary moral about materialism. Crafting the story of the archetypal
tragic hero, the poet idolizes the muse of his piece only to watch her collapse into the inevitable fate of
her flaws. Gray s tone begins quite reverent and melodramatic, building up the beloved cat, then later
shifts to a satiric and cautionary tone, warning readers against the dangers of pursuing empty wealth.
Gray establishes the idolization common in an ode, taking on a reverent tone to open the piece by
building upon the beauty and character of the cat. Employing imagery, the poet compares the cat and
her surroundings to beauty and riches, establishing her worth and her vanity. He notes the velvet of her
paws and emerald eyes , depicting the luxurious beauty of the cat and indicating that she appears
expensive in all of her splendor. The use of velvet and emerald associate the feline with expensive
items, increasing her worth in the reader s eyes. Coupled with purring of applause , a depiction in
which Selima celebrates her own appearance, these expensive comparisons also

Shimano makes some of the best gears and shifters (called derailleurs) in the industry, and the Vilano
comes with both, so you know that it will be easy to use and shift remarkably well. This bike has 21
speeds to choose from, so you get the best ride possible.
Durability is the name of the game with this bike, as it is made with 6061 Double Butted Aluminum.
What that means is that the metal is thicker around the joints for extra strength, while the tubing itself
is thinner so you get the least weight possible. Overall, this is one of the lightest and strongest bikes
available from Vilano.
This model also comes with alloy caliper brakes. What this means is that the brakes press against the
rim of the tire to slow you down, as opposed to disc brakes, which press against a metal disk in the
center of the tire. The brakes are controlled via triggers on the handlebars.
For your riding comfort, the Vilano also has a thick padded seat that s designed for casual street

Application Of A Digital Certificate
Joel Abstract: When one submits a request for information to a service, it being a HTTP or a SOAP
request SMTP or other protocols, one must ensure that the service is indeed the entity that it claims to
be (Rouse, 2013). In public key encryption, the verification of the public key origin is especially
important when one is submitting encrypted information over the internet which it may be sensitive.
Digital Certificates are the main method to verify identity of entities holding public keys rendering
services over the internet (Image 1) (Rouse, 2013). Image 1 Accepting Connection Image 1.2 Browser

new one will be minted. But if there is a certificate theft, the certificate will be alive for the length of
its life. The certificate owner will mint a new one, but there is another certificate in the wild with
equal legitimacy which can be used to falsify someone s identity (Gibson, 2014). A stolen certificate
can be a danger to secure internet communication because a bad actor can impersonate a legitimate
entity and thus potentially stealing encrypted information (Gibson, 2014). There isn t a good way to

South Afric A Country Of Diversity
South Africa is a country of diversity, with 11 languages that are officially recognized Afrikaans,
English, Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, Swazi, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Xhosa, and Zulu (Statistics
South Africa, 2011). Although South Africa has diverse communities, much of its history has proven a
lack of representation. Up until 1994, South Africa was ruled by a white minority government, which
came into power in 1948 and enforced a racial segregation policy called apartheid a policy that
mandates that black and white communities live in separate areas, commute separately, etc. ( South
Africa: Background, n.d.). The corrupt government also stirred conflict around neighboring countries.
Eventually, the apartheid government dismantled as a result of an interim constitution created by F.W.
de Clerk and Nelson Mandela, both of whom led a multiracial forum called the Convention for a
Democratic South Africa (CODESA) to transform the oppressive white government into a multiracial
democracy ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). However, the residual damage from the previous regime
remains evident, with social problems such as poor education, high unemployment and poverty, and
HIV/AIDS still rampant ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). In fact, South Africa is home to the second
highest number of HIV/AIDS patients in the world ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). Despite the
problems that South Africa faces, South Africa dominates in terms of the economy, with its economy

Why Is Catcher In The Rye Banned
The reasons to challenge these books are varied. The most common reason to challenge or ban a book
is because of its sexual content. The Catcher in the Rye is one such book that has been challenged
constantly because of its sexual content. It was challenged in Goffstown, New Hampshire school in
1994 because of its sexual exploits. It was removed and then later reinstated at Windsor Forest High
School in Savannah, Georgia (2000) when in 1999, a parent complained about the sex and violence in
the book. It was also removed in Summerville, South Carolina because a school board member said it
was a filthy, filthy book.
Another reason books are challenged are because of their racial themes. To Kill a Mockingbird has

In a democracy, one is promised the freedom of speech, and any censorship of speech or literature
goes against that. Even as school boards and parents take to the court to ban books from school
libraries, in most cases, books and materials are not allowed to be censored. However, it has been
noted that there are books that might be too dangerous to be in print. One such example of this that has
been highly controversial through the years is the book, The Anarchist Cookbook that was published
in 1971 by William Powell in response to the Vietnam war. In the book, Powell details instructions to
manufacture explosives, illegal drugs and more sinister objects. The purpose of the book is obviously
to harm people and disrupt society. The book was published freely until 1991, and then most recently
again published in 2012, and it has been documented to be the source for many different attacks. In
1976, the book was supposed to have inspired Croatian Nationalists to hijack a plane and plant
explosive devices at Grand Central Station. It was also linked to the Oklahoma bombing and the
Columbine high school shooting. Even as recently as 2013, Karl Pierson, a high shooter in Colorado is
said to have been reading the book. Many users have posted updated versions of the book on the
internet as well. In light of such evidence, one must reexamine the idea of censorship more closely.

Impact Of Fossil Fuels On Our Planet
THE IMPACT FOSSIL FUELS HAVE ON OUR PLANET
Oil reserves are found all over the world. Some reserves produced more oil than others. Saudi Arabia,
Russia, the United States, Iran, and China are the top oil producing countries (U.S. Department of
Energy, 2013). Petroleum is produced in 31 states throughout the United States (U.S. Department of
Energy, 2013). Texas, Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Oklahoma are the states that produce the
most petroleum (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It is used to fuel most cars in the United States,
but petroleum is also used to make many more products that we use on a daily basis (U.S. Department
of Energy, 2013). A majority of petroleum is turned into an energy source. Petroleum can be used to
make heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and propane, in addition to making gasoline (U.S. Department of
Energy, 2013). It can also be turned into petrochemical feedstock, which is derived from petroleum
principally for the manufacturing of chemicals, synthetic rubber, and plastics (U.S. Department of
Energy, 2013). It is used to make many common household products, such as crayons, dishwashing
liquids, deodorant, eyeglasses, tires, and ammonia (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013).
The United States need for petroleum surpasses the amount it can produce; meaning, a majority of our
oil (roughly 60 percent) must be imported from foreign countries (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013).
Canada is the country we import the most oil from, followed by Saudi

An Architect, Former U.s. President Of The National...
As an architect, former U.S. president Thomas Jefferson came up with architectural designs that came
to define and influence American architecture and culture in general. This form of Neo Palladianism
and Neo classism architecture came to be known as Jeffersonian architecture. Some of his notable
structures include Monticello (his home), Poplar Forest which was his retreat, the University of
Virginia which he founded as well as other homes which he designed for his political allies and
friends, a good example being Barboursville. His style gained popularity in the early American period.
Similarly, it was during the same time that the more conventional Greek Revival architecture was
gaining popularity with his help. With his architectural designs, he later came to define America s
national identity and culture.
Background
Most famously recognized as the father of the National Architecture in America, Thomas Jefferson
sought to make American ideals and its culture unique from that of Europe, from where they had their
origins ( Architecture is My Delight n.p). At the time Jefferson was developing his architectural skills,
America was undergoing its revolution and therefore it needed an identity of its own, something that
made it standout; and that is what Jefferson had set out to achieve. In a letter he wrote to James
Madison regarding the project of the Virginia State Capitol while on a tour of Europe (Paris, France),
Jefferson states, I am an enthusiast on the subject of

Why The South Killed Reconstruction
The South Killed Reconstruction After the Civil War, there was still question about who had overall
killed Reconstruction. They both had a lot to do with it, but the south had more to do with it. The
KKK was killing important people just to prove a point. Life was hard for African Americans in this
time because Southern people wanted slavery to continue even after it was abolished. African
americans were bribed to vote for who the kkk wanted. There was a lot of racism.I think the south
killed reconstruction because of bribery, the killing of scalawags and carpetbaggers, and who they
voted for. I think the South killed Reconstruction efforts by bribing African Americans They offered
me $5,000 to go with them and said they would pay me $2,500 in cash if I would let another man go
to legislature in my place. (Colby 513) This gives evidence that the KKK was bribing African
Americans to do what they wanted. They set in and whipped me a thousand licks more, with sticks
and straps that had buckles on the ends of them. (Colby 513) This shows that the KKK was beating
and whipping African Americans if they refused their offer. Although, the North could be held at fault

The Witches in MacBeth Essay
The Witches in MacBeth
Shakespeare utilized many sources of information when writing his plays. One of his sources for the
witches in MacBeth was almost certainly Reginald Scot s The Discoverie of Witchcraft, published in
1584. In his book, Scot refuted many of the common notions regarding witches and their powers;
nevertheless, the book created a basic outline for the typical witch, including physical descriptions and
abilities. The witches in MacBeth are representations of those described in Scot s book. In the play,
Shakespeare describes authentic witches in their physical appearance and behavior and MacBeth s
character is made more villainous through his association with these terrifying figures. ... Show more

For example, they have familiars, or spirits given to them by the devil for the purpose of giving advice
and performing evil deeds. The first witch has a familiar named Graymalkin and the second witch has
one named Paddock. Paddock is often thought to be a toad, which is consistent with the common ideas
of the time period in England, as familiars were thought to be toads, cats, or some other small animal.
The single mention of the familiars in the beginning indicates an attempt to authenticate the characters
as witches.
It becomes apparent that the witches are also responsible for committing evil deeds. Scot enumerates
the capabilities of witches at the time: they ...raise haile, tempests, and hurtfull weather; as lightning
and thunder...They can passe from place to place in the aire invisible (Scot 6). The first witch
describes her plans to raise a storm and sink the ship belonging to the husband of a woman who would
not share chestnuts with her. Her sisters offer to give her winds to aid her in her task. Then, the first
witch admits the man s ship shall be tempest tossed (1.3.26). The witches also display the ability to
become invisible. After their first meeting with MacBeth and Banquo, the witches seem to vanish into
thin air. Banquo says, Whither are they vanished? and MacBeth answers, Into the air, and

The Influence of Science Fiction
Films do and have always reflected society because they show what s important to people. Films
demonstrate fads and hot button issues. Film is not only a piece of art but also a tool of social reform
as it expresses the feelings of humans and their idea of contemporary society. Films are the mirror that
reflect the society. They are controlled by powerful forces that filter information to the public as well
as reflect their fears. This has been held true in the film industry for many decades. For example, when
society had a fear of widespread crime then there were many films that reflected the police catching
the criminals. When society felt that the schools were not educating the children then there were films

This fear was evident in the science fiction films made in that decade. The Japanese, who had already
suffered the most from the atomic fallout, were foremost in delivering this terror on film. Godzilla was
the result of the American atomic ability. Godzilla wreaked havoc on Tokyo and Japanese citizens.
Godzilla can be seen as a metaphor for the horrors the Japanese people endured and was a way to face
their fears in the safety of a movie theater. American filmmakers were also concerned with the
consequences of nuclear technology. They created their own monsters in films such as The Beast of
20,000 Fathoms. This film was based on Ray Bradbury s short story, The Foghorn . It revealed the
horrors that atomic technology and radiation can wreak on both the environment and on the creatures
that live on the planet. It involved the accidental awakening of a King Kong with fins by atomic
testing in the Arctic. The beast headed for New York devastating everything in its path before it was
defeated by good radioactivity . These movies were entertaining and provided a crude snapshot of the
way America desperately did not want itself to be. The fear of social change was also predominate in
the 1950s. The greatest social change of the 50 s can be contributed to the rise of the babyboom era. At

Brainstorming
Brainstorming is a very powerful creative thinking and idea generating technique. It is a decision
making process used by groups to help generate a large number of ideas through an interactive
process. The main goals of this technique are to help break out of habit bound thinking and to produce
a set of ideas where there is more than one choice when making a decision.
Guidelines
Brainstorming is useful for attacking specific rather than general problems and where a collection of
good, fresh, new ideas, rather than judgment or decision analysis, are needed. (Harris, 2002) There are

Comparing The Great Gatsby And The Roaring 20 s
The world famous book, The Great Gatsby , was written in one of America s most influential eras, The
Roaring 20 s. It was first published on April 20, 1925, and is now known as an exemplary novel from
the Jazz age as well as one of America s greatest literature classics of the 20th century. The story
includes many lies, deceits, love interests, and murders. The popularity of this novel has influenced
the creation of many films; two, for example, being the 1974 version with Robert Redford and the
2013 version with Leonardo Dicaprio. Although both of these movies represented the original novel
well, using story elements with varying levels of success, only one movie is the best representation of
the novel.

On the other hand, Nick, Daisy s distant cousin and neighbor to Gatsby, is better represented in the
Robert Redford version than in the Leonardo Dicaprio version because he is a silent spectator and isn t
involved in the storyline but still plays an important role as he is in the novel . In contrast, the
Leonardo Dicaprio version portrays Nick as a very close friend to Gatsby who is constantly sharing
his opinions throughout the movie. Daisy s Husband,Tom, is an annoying, lying, racist, deceiving,
cheat in both movies as well as the novel, but is less antagonistic in the 1974 version. There, he is
portrayed as a more calm, organized, and collected individual for much of the movie. He is made out
to be incredibly sentimental and emotional at some parts of the movie, which was not even close to
how he is depicted in the novel. However, in the 2013 version he, on many occasions, becomes
incredibly mad. When he notices that other people can tell, he tries to hide it. Finally, the analysis of

Mass Media And Culture Essay
It is interesting that Raymond Williams creates a division between high class culture and lower class
culture, suggesting that culture is ordinary, shared and common. If this is the case why does he
emphasise a division in light of this concept? And if we all share a common culture can there be a
division?
It is difficult to understand the term culture. What is culture? Is it a utopian dream, is it a shared group
of interests that bring a community together, or is it just simply a way of life? There are so many
questions surrounding culture and its meaning. Raymond Williams described culture as maps of
meaning through which the world is made intelligible , whether we agree with this definition or not,
he was right in saying that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But before I discuss Internet culture it is imperative that I decipher the essence of mass culture and
mass media. To understand the term mass , it is important to study Gustave Lebon. Although there
have been many more recent theorists that have discussed the term mass ; including Karl Max, John
Stuart Mills and Mathew Arnold, Lebon s theories on mass have pervaded disputes on the subject ever
since. A quote specifically that is questioned today is his warning that the age we are about to enter
will in truth be the era of crowds ([1895] 1916, p. 3), at a time when working class parties were more
present and when western societies were dealing with the growth of industrialisation and mass
migration to popular cities. His book La psychologie des foules was cited for its treatise to crowds,
however is much more about the advent of mass society in physiological terms. He discusses
contagion, loss of individuality, and regression to a more primitive mental state were his favourite
terms . The reason for the book being described as a treatise for the mass is his connotation of crowd
behaviour within a larger mass. For example Lebon quotes, thousands of isolated individuals may
acquire at certain moments, and under the influence of certain violent emotions such, for example, as a
great national event the characteristics of a psychological crowd . However, the mere coming together
of a crowd is not sufficient enough to cause the disappearance of the conscious

Cold and Warm Fronts
Cold and Warm fronts Often times when we experience a drastic change in weather, these changes
occur from fronts. Both warm and cold fronts create sudden changes. These fronts are different air
masses that separate at different densities. Zones are what separate the difference between warm and
cold fronts. Often times between warm and cold front there are narrow lines and they`re typically
shown by lines on a weather map. Usually, an air mass advance into the region occupied by another
air mass. When two fronts collide this creates a midlatitude cyclone. Also, bringing much precipitation
and severe weather to the area. There are five basic types of fronts warm fronts, cold fronts, stationary
fronts, occluded fronts, and drylines. Although, these are all important and have a big impact on our
weather systems the most common are warm and cold fronts. Warm fronts are noted on a weather map
often by a red line with semicircles indication the direction in which the front is heading. They often
invade an area of cooler air, and bring warmer air to the area. Warm fonts usually move from
southwest to northeast and the air behind a warm front is usually warmer and moister than the air
behind it (Climate Weather. Web). They often come into play in the United States by (mT) or maritime
tropical. This is where the warm air enters the borders from the Gulf of Mexico pushing over the land
where cooler air exist. Generally when these fonts combine this produces all kinds of

Fshore Banking Institutions
The offshore banking institution is regulated in three different ways, through agency, subsidiary, and
foreign branches. These kinds of institutions are difficult to regulate because countries cannot impose
reserve requirements on its own banks overseas branches (Grittersova, 15). According to Singer,
regulators enact tighter capital requirements without the explicit intervention of congress. As banks
assumed more and more risk, regulators responded by imposing greater capital requirements without
the explicit intervention of congress (Singer, 49). This makes it difficult for the international banking
to have restriction on the bank examinations, capital requirements, and assets. Internationally, the
safety net main purpose is to establish an international standard that will minimize the power of the
regulators and protect the consumers that are within the jurisdiction. Because of the existence of
contagion there has been an important institution that has intervened as a disciplined which is the
international lender of last resort (189). Overall The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision was
composed of the G10 central banks and national bank regulators in where they negotiate international
banking standards, according to Fratianni, the G10 is small, homogenous, and rich in intelligence on
financial markets with international financial transaction in the world. During the 1980 s the U.S.

James Madison And The Federal Convention Essay
There are numerous possible conclusions as to what the Constitution may have looked like had James
Madison gotten his way at the debates in the Federal Convention. Initially, Madison s vision of
government lined up with the Virginia Plan presented by Edmund Randolph to the Federal Convention
on May 29th, 1787. This plan stressed the interest of a stronger national government, with
representation in the legislative branch based on the apportionment of people, instead of states, and
subjected state laws to a veto by the national government. Despite the early plan of government, it is
more realistic to assert that Madison s vision for government was pliable, and that his vision evolved
through the convention to appear as it did on September 17, 1787. Considering Madison s comments
in both the Federal Convention along with his subsequent authorship of certain Federalist Papers,
under the pseudonym Publius, it is clear that through the deliberative process of debate during the
convention that James Madison s vision for a national government was almost wholly reconciled to
the final draft. James Madison achieved the majority of his desires for a new constitution, mainly
protection against the encroachment by states on federal power, limiting the power of those in
government by creating separate distinct functions for each branch of government and finally by
securing rights of individuals structurally by extending the republic.
Need for a more energetic government, with an

Grey s Anatomy Poetry Analysis
Grey s Anatomy is a popular drama doctor show to this day. They had a music event episode where
everyone sang and they had two songs that display the symbolic cycle. Both pieces compliment each
other because of their similarities in the symbolic cycle, birth and death. The visual display of the
songs fit together because of the setting and how the music itself develops throughout each song.
These songs were chosen to be in Grey s Anatomy because they illustrate real life of losing someone
and being blind to someone s pain they try to hide. In How to Save a Life and The Story the
composers develop the theme of life and death.
How to Save a Life takes place when surgeons are performing surgery on their close friend and fellow

The reason Torres is performing this song is because she is in a coma and essentially her spirit is
singing to herself to make own self wake up from her coma. In the beginning since she is in a coma, it
represents death as she is at the end of the symbolic cycle, death. She starts by saying So many stories
of where I ve been which shows she has experience of life and she is at the west side where she is an
adult knowing everything. As Torres is singing, she is walking through the hospital as she gets closer
to willing herself to wake up. One of the reasons was her girlfriend, Arizona Robbins, who loves her
and she has her child Sofia to fight for. Her child, Sofia, represents life and birth as she beings her
symbolic cycle. Most of this song is about being experienced as Torres says she has climbed mountain
tops and swam all across the ocean blue and by her saying this, she is motivating herself to wake up
and be strong for everyone. Also she talks about how everyone around her is ignorant. And all of my
friends who think that I m blessed, they don t know my head is a mess. No they don t know who I
really am . This quote from the song proves her point how no one realizes how much she has been
struggling in her life and how she has had that pain of experience and depression from everyone. The
song starts the same as How to Save a Life with a calm and softer beginning. As

Lenient Parent Vs Drill Sergeant Parent
Although there are many types of parenting, two of the most common are the completely lenient
parent who is like a friend and the drill sergeant parent who expects nothing but the best from their
child. These two types of parenting present totally different ideas of a how a child should be raised.
From punishing, expectations, and the amount of freedom, distinction occurs.
Many teens today do not experience punishing, but with strict parents, pain, humiliation, and harsh
punishments will most likely occur. Phones are taken away; some parents even embarrass their own
child on social media. Weeks or months ,depending on the degree of what was done wrong, of
punishment and having no type of fun will be the life for the child of the drill sergeant. The lenient
parent prefers to let the child do and the consequences that follow can be considered punishment . As

The Myth of Exodus Essay
The Myth of Exodus
There are many themes running through the Old Testament myth of Exodus slavery, rescue and
redemption, guidance, commandments on how to live, the creation of a nation, and God s power over
other gods. In this paper I will explore what appears to be the chief reasoning behind the creation of
the Exodus myth the explanation of the creation of a monotheistic religion and the similarities of the
Exodus myth to the ancient myths, as well as how one should approach the reading of the myth.
First of all, we need to understand what a myth is. William Bascom says in his essay, The Forms of

At the heart of the matter, the creators of a myth are attempting to explain their world in a world
absent of science and sophisticated tools of research. In approaching myth, the reader must enter into
the world of the creators of the myth, instead of attempting to impose their own societal beliefs and
expectations on it. In short, we need to read the myth in imitation of how the myth was originally
received.
In the myth of Exodus, a monotheistic system of worship was needed in order to create a unified
nation with one god. Exodus attempts to provide an explanation for this movement away from the
traditional polytheistic religion. Lauri Honko says in her essay, The Problem of Defining Myth ,
...myths can be characterized as ontological: they are incorporated and integrated into a coherent view
of the world, and they describe very important aspects of life and the universe (Dundes 51). Within the
pages of Exodus we find the first code of laws the Ten Commandments for living as a monotheistic
society. God begins the Ten Commandments with admonishment to keep Him above all other gods,
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you
shall have no other gods before me (Exodus 20:1 3).

Compare And Contrast Keats And John Keats
Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Keats were both unconventional men during their era. They were both
part of the romantics, poets who sought nature as a way of expressing their most bare and intimate
feelings. Their greatest aspiration was to resemble great poets like Wordsworth and Coleridge, who
they admired profoundly. However, Keats and Shelley were completely different both in their outlook
of life and even in the way that they expressed their feelings. John Keats was a poet who followed his
passion for poetry and left his medical career to become a poet. He was a passive man who believed in
the beauty of nature and held a respect and fear for it as well. Shelley was a man beyond his years, he
was an adventurous man who held a deep love for nature and uniqueness, as we can see in many of his
sonnets and poems. Both believed greatly that the power of art held and radiated once it was
acknowledged. Through their sonnets they expressed their respect for artists and their work, exalting
them for the passion and John Keats, On First Looking into Chapman s Homer. Gave us a more
personal view of an artist s work. The Odyssey had been John Keats long obsession, his dream had
always been to be able to read it, however, he had not been able because it had not been translated.

High Hopes at Miracle-Gro in The Medical Marijuana Field

The product itself does not necessarily need to be changed as its purpose will be identical in the new
market. However, the product s packaging, advertising, image, and distribution channels will need to
be redesigned and managed differently. Mostly, Scotts will need to be able to convince its new target
market of its product s benefits and value, to generate sales.
Scotts is entering an extremely controversial market of semi legal marijuana. According to the article,
only sixteen states approved laws to legalize marijuana for medical reasons. 68% of the U.S. states
have not legalized marijuana and still disapprove of its use. Scotts will need to pursue a unique public
relations strategy to address such potential concerns about growing marijuana. Scotts will need to

The Civil Rights Movement And The LGBTQ Rights Movement
Civil Rights Movement and The LGBTQ Rights Movement The Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s
and the LGBTQ rights movement happening now seem different on the surface but are more similar
underneath. Many of the differences found between the two movements are only comparing the outer
layer and not what is going on below that layer. When you look at how similar they are at the core,
you will start to see a scary trend in the way people treat minorities in our society. The disturbing truth
is people fear differences. The two movements were started during different times. The Civil Rights
Movement started in 1955 and continued till 1968 (Janken). The LGBTQ movement was officially
founded in 1986 and is still going on now (LGBTQ). African Americans in the past and present are
being discriminated against and oppressed because of their skin color (Patterson). The LGBTQ
community is oppressed and discriminated against for their sexuality and gender (Singh and Durso).
In the 1960s, the African Americans were legally segregated from the majority because it was easy to
tell the difference between the oppressive group and the oppressed group (Jim). Looking at someone
will not reveal what their sexuality is, so this makes it difficult for the oppressors to separate them
from the majority group. These differences create the idea that each movement is happening for
unique reasons, but this is only when you look at the top layer of the movements. We know that both

Eric Johnson Let Parents Be Parents Summary
In Eric Johnson s article Let Parents Be Parents, published by the Chronicle of Higher Education
February 5, 2017, he gives an overarching theme of simplifying the mechanics of college and argues
that less parental instruction is needed on campuses today. Johnson appeals to college boards,
educators, professors, and parents alike to help remake policy on campus. Johnson s purpose in
writing this article comes from the rise in complexity that college life has become. He emphasizes that
parents should be involved in their son s/daughter s college life, but suggests ways to help eliminate
academic bureaucracy, which would streamline parental involvement. Johnson claims that parents are
busy enough without having to traverse the difficulties of introductory college processes with their
sons/daughters and gives arguments to support these ideas. Although there are flaws in his writing,
over all Johnson writes convincingly, using plain speech with well thought out word choice and
rhetorical strategies which give him credibility in the eyes of the reader about his ideas and arguments.
Johnson does an excellent job of starting off his argument by appealing to the readers emotions. He
provides a glimpse into his first impressions of college. He shows that although his parents didn t help
him register for college and were not there in person holding his hand, they were supportive, loving,
and he didn t turn out worse for wear. Johnson s intro tugs at your heart strings and is

The Physics Of Infrared Radiation
A vibration can result in an absorption peak of infrared radiation, only if there is a change in the dipole
moment of the molecule. The larger this change, the more intense will be the absorption band.
Furthermore, the electron polarity vectors in the covalent bond should not cancel out i.e the covalent
bonds must be asymmetric. Asymmetrical bonds carry a net polarity vector and show absorption
peaks; bonds that are centered along the plane of symmetry cancel out their polarity vectors upon
stretching and there is no net change in dipole moment. Such molecules are known to be infrared
inactive. An infrared spectrum is the plot of absorbance (or % transmission) against the wavenumber
(cm 1) (Rehman et al., 2012). Wavenumber is defined as number of waves in a length of one
centimeter and is a commonly used unit for representing spectral regions. Wavenumber is linear with
energy and is expressed with the following equation.Significant parts of the spectrum are the regions
where the molecule absorbs the infrared energy. These are shown as characteristic absorption peaks. A
molecule can only absorb radiation when the incoming infrared radiation is of the same frequency as
one of the fundamental modes of vibration of the molecule (Stuart and Barbara, 2004). The modes of
vibration usually encountered include bending, stretching, wagging and out of plane vibrations. These
molecular vibrations result in changes in dipole moments of the molecular groups and the resulting
vibrating

Amazon s Strategic Issue Of Amazon
One of the weaknesses that Amazon has would be their operational issue. Amazon is a big company
and their operational issues should be considered a weakness. The reason why they could possibly
have an operational issue can either be that they accidently or purposely overlooked the issue, or
assumed that they will be fine and the plan would be successful. Either way, this issue could have
been stopped. To big companies like Amazon, receiving a filing complaint should be common but it is
not something they should get used to or else it can result in a decrease in reputation, revenue
decrease, or even both. But there are some alternative solutions that can be considered. Operational
Issues Alternative One One solution that Amazon can use would be to take advantage of the legal team
and also have them thoroughly go through and identifying potential danger problems including patents
that might cause a potential infringement. For the issue of patents as an example, doing a careful
infringement review during the product concept stage can help the company be assured that they
would not have to worry about carrying a high risk of liability. The advantage of this alternative is that
the planner or the team of planners is not the only one reviewing the paper. Having someone review
the plan might catch more potential problems that the planner might not have seen or missed so this
can greatly increase the chance of verifying all the potential problems. The disadvantage is that it can

Justly Good
Why is being just good for me?
Seems like a pretty easy question right? Well not necessarily even a seemingly straightforward
question like this can get an assortment of different and diverse responses depending on just who is
polled. Take for example, if you were to question a moral relativist they would claim that there is no
such thing as an absolute sense of good and bad or even justness for that matter. They would claim
that human nature and mortality is an ever changing phenomena simply defined by many socio
cultural and historical factors nothing more or nothing less. Compare that response to that of a
spiritual or religious individual and they would claim that goodness is the product of some external
force or god. And if we live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Back in Plato s day pleasure was considered the good of the time and people lived by this standard. If
something made you feel good simply just do it. It was a very hedonistic lifestyle people and needed
guidance. Now to get into the mind of Plato and try to piece together the entire idea of what goodness
even is it s important to read Chapter 23. There you will find the Analogy of The Sun . The analogy of
the sun is basically one huge metaphor that was used in a conversation between Glaucon and Socrates.
Socrates carefully used the metaphor after being urged by Glaucon to define goodness . In the analogy
Socrates mentions this force called the child of goodness . Basically Socrates compares this child of
goodness to the sun, claiming how like the sun illuminates from the sky giving the us ability to see
and be seen so does this idea of goodness . Thus lighting the way to show those intelligible the truth.
In the case of Plato s republic, the intelligible Socrates talks about can be assumed to be any individual
who society deems fit to handle and interpret complex truths. These would be men of thought such as
philosophers. To take this role these individuals must have an initiate skill they were born with in
order to properly bestow their

The Effect Of Table Salt And Sugar On The Melting Rate Of Ice
The Effect of Table Salt and Sugar on the Melting Rate of Ice
A common practice during the winter when roads ice over is to spread salt to melt the ice. According
to Senese (2015), the salt melts the ice by disrupting the equilibrium between freezing and melting
water molecules. The dissolved salt molecules cause the capture of water molecules by ice for freezing
to slow while not affecting the rate of melting. This phenomenon is also referred to as freezing point
depression. As the molality, or the amount of solute (ex: salt) in a solution (ex: salt water) is increased,
the chemical potential of the solution decreases causing the freezing point of the solution to also
decrease (Echipare Harju, 2015). However, one might ask why salt is the specific solute used to melt
ice on roads, when freezing point depression applies to many combinations of solutes and solvents.
The most obvious answer may be price, but another affordable and abundant solute also exists: sugar.
Which is faster at melting ice: salt or sugar?
Hypothesis
Of the frozen solutions, the solution containing table salt will melt in the shortest amount of time,
followed by the sugar solution, and then pure water.
Rationale
When adding a solute such as table salt or sugar to water, the resulting solution undergoes freezing
point depression. As a result of freezing point depression, the solution results in an increase of entropy,
which causes the boiling point of the solution to increase and the freezing point to

Hi Catrice Case Study
Hi Catrice, I enjoyed reading your essay. It is sad to say, but your previous situation seems to happen
often. Therefore, I believe that a good strategy that you could have used would have been the Tit for
Strategy where one cooperates until the other player defects. Since you were aware of your coworker s
strategy to undermine or sabotage your efforts toward a successful strategy. Furthermore, this may
have allowed you an opportunity to bond with someone and change his or her opinion of your efforts.
Also, it appears you and your coworker had dominated strategies towards completing two different
goals. I believe that you may have missed your opportunity to ease tensions between yourself and your
team member. Now, this is a person who

Essay on Mass Media Coverage of Presidential Election
Mass media coverage of the U.S. presidential election involves two key elements news reporting and
paid advertising. Combined they make the media an important and influential factor in the election
process. The media depends upon the campaigns for both news and revenues. The candidates then rely
upon the media to get in touch with the largest number of voters possible. The Media has a very
powerful and justifiable role
(Fullerton 1) to play in presidential elections and can actually dictate a campaign agenda. It is the
media s job to sort of be the watchdog

Such shows really impact the viewing audience due to the voters chance at speaking directly to the
candidate and expressing their own views. (Gorin 1)
The presidential debates are probably the most important media events covered in a campaign because
voters can see how candidates react in stressful situations and can read numerous articles analyzing
the debate after they occur. The debates basically allow the candidates to go head to head with one
another and see who can handle themselves more efficiently and who has the most going for them.
As far as coverage, newspapers usually provide more material to the campaign than does television,
due to the large amount of reporters able to cover the campaign as well as less cost and time restraints
as TV.
Newspapers also have the benefit of corrective journalism (Gorin 2).
Instead of printing a candidate s statement one day, an oppositions rebuttal the next and a related
opinion piece the third day, journalists have the capability to include charges, countercharges,
background research and analysis all in the same article.
However, Louis Wolfson, a professor at American University says In a larger sense, I don t think the
media sent the agenda for a campaign he said.
I think the politicians do, because they try to campaign on the issues they are going to be most
successful with and to avoid the ones

Online Privacy at What Cost Essay
Online Privacy at What Cost
When the constitution was written over two hundred years ago, our founding fathers probably did not
have the Internet in mind. Since then, United States citizen along with their elected officials have tried
to keep the rights of each American sacred, no matter what the cost. The major right that has been
fought over since the dawn of the USA, has been that of the freedom of speech. Now, with the
beginning of the twenty first century, a new freedom of speech is again being examined. This newest
freedom of speech is that of Internet privacy, more directly; how much privacy is too much privacy
when on the Internet? To explore this question I will be looking at three areas; the freedom of speech

The freedom of speech protects them; but who is to protect the innocent bystanders who may be
harmed by these online militias? No one, at this point, since anybody can print their carnal desires on
the net, no matter how dangerous they may be. America should have the right to intervene in their
privacy on the net, not as an invasion of privacy, but a protection to its citizens. These nefarious
coalitions have to be stopped at the root, and in most cases that root grows deep in the Internet.
Millions of people log on everyday for everything from research to entertainment, but when Hitler
esque divisions start to invade the web for their own meglomaniacal plans, that is when privacy should
be treaded on for our protection. It s not spying, but it is protection, when there are so many sites out
there threatening out way of life, and our children s way of life.
Sites containing such material on how to build your own nuclear bomb, or any kind of explosive,
should be monitored to locate who is constructing this site, and who is logging on. Also, sites that
display military weakness of the White House, or crucial American facilities that lie hidden, threatens
our national security. If terrorists discover the whereabouts of such crucial military institutions, then
they could cripple the United States with just a simple click of a keyboard. Internet terrorism is very

The Rise of Colonies and the Causes of Revolutions
Imperialism is known as taking over the political and military aspects of a territory and colonialism is
the movement of a large amount of people from their home area to the newly seized region.
Imperialism usually occurs first over an area and then comes the colonialism period of the newly
apprehended territory (Soomo, 2013a).
Discussion
Discovery of North America occurred in 1492 by Christopher Columbus. There were already millions
of Native Americans living in this newly discovered land; however, that did not stop the Europeans
from coming over shortly after the discovery to claim the area as their own. Spain, France, and

The Pueblo Indians defeated the Spanish in 1607 by killing 400 people and taking back their land
(Soomo, 2013e).
Another Native American group called the Powhatan that dominated most of the Chesapeake area had
cooperated with the new inhabitants of what was then known as Jamestown through the diplomatic
relations between their Chief and Captain John Smith who was originally sent there to help the hungry
settlers of the area. However, once John Smith died, the Powhatan rebelled against the settlers and
tried to shove back the empire. Other Native Americans worked with the French settlers and helped
them with trading fur (Soomo, 2013f).
There have been numerous revolutions over the years with some of them being violent while others
were non violent. One of the most prominent violent revolutions is the American Revolution. This was
a war of independence between the American colonies and Britain and it was filled with many protests
with countless lives lost in the numerous battles all around the colonies. Tensions had been building
for a decade between the colonists and the British authorities before the war actually began, and the
war itself lasted almost a decade. This war was a civil war until the French stepped in on the colonists
side, then it became known as an international conflict. The war did not last much longer once the
French did step in and the Americans had finally won their independence from Britain (A+E

The Role Of Hierarchy In The Early Church
As the early church expanded some teaching weren t clear that they were the word of God. One of the
teaching is apostolic succession. Hierarchy is a system or organization in which people or groups are
ranked one above the other according to status or authority. Through hierarchy many beliefs were
passed down the ministry by popes and bishops. Many of these belief include the canon,
eucatist, hierarchies and etc. In order to find out what the was really said back then we must go back to
the early church fathers and read their manuscripts. In Matthew 16:19 Jesus says I will give you the

From the book of Isaiah 22:22 Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, When he
opens no one will shut, When he shuts no one will open. . The house of David represents the church in
which Jesus gives the key to Peter and with them never his doors close for anyone. Therefore Peter is
the first to have authority over the church. Peter is also head of the church is in Matthew 16:19 I will
give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and
whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Meaning that Peter does just hold the keys of
the the physical Church but also the spiritual one. Therefore Peter is the first out of the twelve to
receive spiritual authority over the Church. Even so in Matthew 16:18 Jesus says that And I tell you
that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail
against it. Meaning that peter is the source of all the churches knowledge since he is the foundation
that the Church will grow from. With this we a can now say that Peter is the head of the

  • 3. A Report On Ficer Corps GySgt Daniel Daly once said, Any officer can get by on his sergeants. To be a sergeant you have to know your stuff. I d rather be an outstanding sergeant that just another officer. Imagining and Marine Corps without any NCOs is to imagine a Marine Corps that doesn t exist. There would be no boot camp because there would be no drill instructors. There would be no outstanding specialists to transform into warrant officers; aircraft, weapons and trucks would rust and break down never to be repaired and finally and most importantly there would be no accountability. Noncommissioned officers are as old as war itself. In the seventh century the smallest tactical unit in the Roman legion was commanded by a centurion who is akin to a gunnery sergeant. The condottieri, or mercenaries, we professionals who served under any state that would pay and feed them; in their companies the ranks of corporal and sergeant were born. In 1778, Baron von Steuben wrote the main purpose of the noncommissioned officer corps is to decentralize command authority in an orderly fashion down to the smallest element in an organization. In other words, NCOs exist to teach Marines, execute orders, take care of people and cushion the contact with officers. On becoming an NCO we receive a certificate of appointment; often referred to as a warrant. This document is the basis of our authority, rank, status and responsibilities and the words on it sum up the reasons why the Marine Corps ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Shakespeare’s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and... Shakespeare s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and Cleopatra As the title clearly suggests, Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is based around the extraordinary relationship among two distinctive individuals, one a Roman general and the other an Egyptian queen. Along with Caesar who is also a Roman general, these entities dominate the play s tragic storyline progression. However whilst Antony and Cleopatra centres around a provocative love affair, Shakespeare makes it evident that there is a good deal larger tensions involved, a collision course between two worlds. Antony and Cleopatra details the conflict between Rome and Egypt, it demonstrates the differences between Eastern and Western ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Antony and Cleopatra, West and East collide, but it does not in spite of Caesar s conquest over the land of Egypt, defeat it. Cleopatra s suicide implies that a touch of the East s character, the freedoms and fervour that are not signified in the play s notion of the West, cannot be listed by Caesar s victory. The play proposes that the East will survive on as a perceptible and invincible counterpart to the West, bound as inseparably and everlastingly as Antony and Cleopatra are in their mausoleum. As the play develops, Antony continues to occupy contradictory characteristics that play out the struggle between motive and feeling. In one instance, he is the rancorous war hero whom Caesar eulogizes and fears. Almost immediately after that, he surrenders his military designation by foolishly allowing Cleopatra to establish his course of action. As his Roman friends, even the faithful Enobarbus desert him, Antony feels that he has, without a doubt, lost himself in old age, and he resolves to salvage his dignified individuality by killing his self. Originally, this act may emerge to be a victory of motive over fervour, of Western consciousness over Eastern ones, but the play is not as straightforward as that. Even though Antony departs this life deeming himself a man of reverence, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Government s Role on Health Care Essay Introduction Have you ever wondered exactly what the government does for our country in regards to health care? Many have the impression that the government is not really of much assistance to them. However, in reality, the government does more than most people realize. The government actually plays a vital role in health care but most people look past it. I am sure very few people have actually sat down and pondered or even have done research to find out the impact of the government s role in health care. However, I intend to clear up this misconception. The federal and state governments are the largest supporters of health care services in the United States. Examples of support that our government provides include assisting those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Federal Employee Health benefit program is the largest employer health insurance program in the United States, insuring about 3 percent of all Americans. There are 133 plans, offering 188 coverage options that are participating in the FEHBP as of 2003. Preferred provider organization (PPO), fee for service plans, and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) all offer options. The government s contribution toward the cost of the beneficiary s premium is lesser of 72 percent of the average FEHBP plan premium, weighted by enrollment, or 75 percent of the premium for the plan chosen (Karen Davis) . Just as importantly, the government funds and provides health care directly to many others who work or have previously worked for the federal government as well. Programs such as the Defense Department are for active duty and retired personnel and their families that visit facilities owned by the government, using health care providers who work for the government. Nearly 7.8 million veterans out of the 25 million in the veteran population receive care directly from the Veterans Health Administration, a division of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). Pathology and Treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension The pulmonary vasculature contains arteries and arterioles, which branch in the lungs to create a dense capillary bed to provide blood flow. The pulmonary capillary bed is a high volume, low pressure, low resistance system that delivers blood to and from the lungs via the arterial and venous circulation systems. The right ventricle of the heart is responsible for pumping blood to the pulmonary artery and to the lungs so it can be oxygenated while the left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood to the tissues. Typically, hypertension refers to high blood pressure in the systemic circulation, however, an increase in blood pressure may also occur in pulmonary circulation. Increased levels of pro inflammatory cytokines and chemokines result in an infiltration of inflammatory cells forming plexiform lesions consisting of T cells, B cells and macrophages (Savaj et al., 2012). Scleroderma, or systemic sclerosis, is a connective tissue disease characterized by a thickening of the skin. Accumulation of collagen by fibroblasts, platelet adhesion and a type II hypersensitivity reaction lead to endothelial damage. Endothelial damage and decreased vasodilatation result in increased arterial pressure leading to PAH (Mclaughlin, 2009). Patients generally have a poor prognosis unless detected early, as a cure for slceroderma does not exist. Patients with advanced liver disease can also develop PAH. Portopulmonary hypertension (PPH) is a combination of high blood pressure in the portal and pulmonary systems. Unless transplantation can occur, prognosis for these patients is less than ideal. In order to be considered for transplantation, patients must have a mean arterial pressure less than or equal to 35 mm Hg. • 8. African Americans And The United States Although African Americans make up merely fourteen percent of the U.S. population, thirty seven percent of people who are homeless are African Americans. Forty two percent of African American children are educated in all high poverty schools. In 2012, the mean critical reading SAT score for college accepted students was 428 for African Americans and 527 for whites. For mathematics, it was 428 for African Americans and 536 for whites. For writing it was 417 for African Americans and 515 for whites (National Center for Educational Statistics). These staggering data manage to encompass just a few of the issues that are prevalent among African Americans in the United States. However, people may find themselves wondering how these figures came to be; who is responsible and what can be done? Many will begin turning to stereotypes for justification of this issue: African Americans are lazy, African Americans are criminals, African Americans are indifferent towards education. Indeed, that shallow assumption can be made made based on sole observation, but further research unveils an extraordinarily different conclusion. In order to understand this, one must dig deep into the history books and study the turbulent past of African Americans. Doing so, I was able to form a deduction that shows the origin of so many issues that the African American community is pressed with. African Americans experience the ramifications of their pasts everyday through the effects of denied access to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Theme Of Ode On The Death Of Goldfishes By Thomas Gray The ultimate goal many desire is material wealth, chasing fortune in their careers, relationships, or recreation. Morals and intellect sometimes deteriorate in pursuit of this goal, as the coveted wealthy status takes precedence over the weight of virtue. Thomas Gray, in his Ode on the Death of a Favourite Cat Drowned in a Tub of Goldfishes , pokes satiric fun at the use of the ode while simultaneously constructing a cautionary moral about materialism. Crafting the story of the archetypal tragic hero, the poet idolizes the muse of his piece only to watch her collapse into the inevitable fate of her flaws. Gray s tone begins quite reverent and melodramatic, building up the beloved cat, then later shifts to a satiric and cautionary tone, warning readers against the dangers of pursuing empty wealth. Gray establishes the idolization common in an ode, taking on a reverent tone to open the piece by building upon the beauty and character of the cat. Employing imagery, the poet compares the cat and her surroundings to beauty and riches, establishing her worth and her vanity. He notes the velvet of her paws and emerald eyes , depicting the luxurious beauty of the cat and indicating that she appears expensive in all of her splendor. The use of velvet and emerald associate the feline with expensive items, increasing her worth in the reader s eyes. Coupled with purring of applause , a depiction in which Selima celebrates her own appearance, these expensive comparisons also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Application Of A Digital Certificate Joel Abstract: When one submits a request for information to a service, it being a HTTP or a SOAP request SMTP or other protocols, one must ensure that the service is indeed the entity that it claims to be (Rouse, 2013). In public key encryption, the verification of the public key origin is especially important when one is submitting encrypted information over the internet which it may be sensitive. Digital Certificates are the main method to verify identity of entities holding public keys rendering services over the internet (Image 1) (Rouse, 2013). But if there is a certificate theft, the certificate will be alive for the length of its life. The certificate owner will mint a new one, but there is another certificate in the wild with equal legitimacy which can be used to falsify someone s identity (Gibson, 2014). South Afric A Country Of Diversity South Africa is a country of diversity, with 11 languages that are officially recognized Afrikaans, English, Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, Swazi, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Xhosa, and Zulu (Statistics South Africa, 2011). Although South Africa has diverse communities, much of its history has proven a lack of representation. Up until 1994, South Africa was ruled by a white minority government, which came into power in 1948 and enforced a racial segregation policy called apartheid a policy that mandates that black and white communities live in separate areas, commute separately, etc. ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). The corrupt government also stirred conflict around neighboring countries. Eventually, the apartheid government dismantled as a result of an interim constitution created by F.W. de Clerk and Nelson Mandela, both of whom led a multiracial forum called the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (CODESA) to transform the oppressive white government into a multiracial democracy ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). However, the residual damage from the previous regime remains evident, with social problems such as poor education, high unemployment and poverty, and HIV/AIDS still rampant ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). In fact, South Africa is home to the second highest number of HIV/AIDS patients in the world ( South Africa: Background, n.d.). The Catcher in the Rye is one such book that has been challenged constantly because of its sexual content. It was challenged in Goffstown, New Hampshire school in 1994 because of its sexual exploits. It was removed and then later reinstated at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Georgia (2000) when in 1999, a parent complained about the sex and violence in the book. In a democracy, one is promised the freedom of speech, and any censorship of speech or literature goes against that. Even as school boards and parents take to the court to ban books from school libraries, in most cases, books and materials are not allowed to be censored. However, it has been noted that there are books that might be too dangerous to be in print. One such example of this that has been highly controversial through the years is the book, The Anarchist Cookbook that was published in 1971 by William Powell in response to the Vietnam war. In the book, Powell details instructions to manufacture explosives, illegal drugs and more sinister objects. The purpose of the book is obviously to harm people and disrupt society. The book was published freely until 1991, and then most recently again published in 2012, and it has been documented to be the source for many different attacks. In 1976, the book was supposed to have inspired Croatian Nationalists to hijack a plane and plant explosive devices at Grand Central Station. It was also linked to the Oklahoma bombing and the Columbine high school shooting. Even as recently as 2013, Karl Pierson, a high shooter in Colorado is said to have been reading the book. Many users have posted updated versions of the book on the internet as well. In light of such evidence, one must reexamine the idea of censorship more closely. Saudi Arabia, Russia, the United States, Iran, and China are the top oil producing countries (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). Petroleum is produced in 31 states throughout the United States (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). Texas, Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Oklahoma are the states that produce the most petroleum (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It is used to fuel most cars in the United States, but petroleum is also used to make many more products that we use on a daily basis (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). A majority of petroleum is turned into an energy source. Petroleum can be used to make heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and propane, in addition to making gasoline (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It can also be turned into petrochemical feedstock, which is derived from petroleum principally for the manufacturing of chemicals, synthetic rubber, and plastics (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It is used to make many common household products, such as crayons, dishwashing liquids, deodorant, eyeglasses, tires, and ammonia (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). The United States need for petroleum surpasses the amount it can produce; meaning, a majority of our oil (roughly 60 percent) must be imported from foreign countries (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). • 16. An Architect, Former U.s. President Of The National... As an architect, former U.S. president Thomas Jefferson came up with architectural designs that came to define and influence American architecture and culture in general. This form of Neo Palladianism and Neo classism architecture came to be known as Jeffersonian architecture. Some of his notable structures include Monticello (his home), Poplar Forest which was his retreat, the University of Virginia which he founded as well as other homes which he designed for his political allies and friends, a good example being Barboursville. His style gained popularity in the early American period. Similarly, it was during the same time that the more conventional Greek Revival architecture was gaining popularity with his help. With his architectural designs, he later came to define America s national identity and culture. Background Most famously recognized as the father of the National Architecture in America, Thomas Jefferson sought to make American ideals and its culture unique from that of Europe, from where they had their origins ( Architecture is My Delight n.p). At the time Jefferson was developing his architectural skills, America was undergoing its revolution and therefore it needed an identity of its own, something that made it standout; and that is what Jefferson had set out to achieve. In a letter he wrote to James Madison regarding the project of the Virginia State Capitol while on a tour of Europe (Paris, France), Jefferson states, I am an enthusiast on the subject of ... They both had a lot to do with it, but the south had more to do with it. The KKK was killing important people just to prove a point. Life was hard for African Americans in this time because Southern people wanted slavery to continue even after it was abolished. African americans were bribed to vote for who the kkk wanted. There was a lot of racism.I think the south killed reconstruction because of bribery, the killing of scalawags and carpetbaggers, and who they voted for. I think the South killed Reconstruction efforts by bribing African Americans They offered me $5,000 to go with them and said they would pay me $2,500 in cash if I would let another man go to legislature in my place. (Colby 513) This gives evidence that the KKK was bribing African Americans to do what they wanted. One of his sources for the witches in MacBeth was almost certainly Reginald Scot s The Discoverie of Witchcraft, published in 1584. In his book, Scot refuted many of the common notions regarding witches and their powers; nevertheless, the book created a basic outline for the typical witch, including physical descriptions and abilities. The witches in MacBeth are representations of those described in Scot s book. The first witch has a familiar named Graymalkin and the second witch has one named Paddock. The single mention of the familiars in the beginning indicates an attempt to authenticate the characters as witches. It becomes apparent that the witches are also responsible for committing evil deeds. Scot enumerates the capabilities of witches at the time: they ...raise haile, tempests, and hurtfull weather; as lightning and thunder...They can passe from place to place in the aire invisible (Scot 6). The first witch describes her plans to raise a storm and sink the ship belonging to the husband of a woman who would not share chestnuts with her. Her sisters offer to give her winds to aid her in her task. Then, the first witch admits the man s ship shall be tempest tossed (1.3.26). The witches also display the ability to become invisible. Film is not only a piece of art but also a tool of social reform as it expresses the feelings of humans and their idea of contemporary society. Films are the mirror that reflect the society. They are controlled by powerful forces that filter information to the public as well as reflect their fears. This has been held true in the film industry for many decades. American filmmakers were also concerned with the consequences of nuclear technology. They created their own monsters in films such as The Beast of 20,000 Fathoms. This film was based on Ray Bradbury s short story, The Foghorn . It revealed the horrors that atomic technology and radiation can wreak on both the environment and on the creatures that live on the planet. It involved the accidental awakening of a King Kong with fins by atomic testing in the Arctic. The beast headed for New York devastating everything in its path before it was defeated by good radioactivity . A quote specifically that is questioned today is his warning that the age we are about to enter will in truth be the era of crowds ([1895] 1916, p. 3), at a time when working class parties were more present and when western societies were dealing with the growth of industrialisation and mass migration to popular cities. These fronts are different air masses that separate at different densities. Zones are what separate the difference between warm and cold fronts. Often times between warm and cold front there are narrow lines and they`re typically shown by lines on a weather map. Usually, an air mass advance into the region occupied by another air mass. These kinds of institutions are difficult to regulate because countries cannot impose reserve requirements on its own banks overseas branches (Grittersova, 15). According to Singer, regulators enact tighter capital requirements without the explicit intervention of congress. As banks assumed more and more risk, regulators responded by imposing greater capital requirements without the explicit intervention of congress (Singer, 49). This makes it difficult for the international banking to have restriction on the bank examinations, capital requirements, and assets. Internationally, the safety net main purpose is to establish an international standard that will minimize the power of the regulators and protect the consumers that are within the jurisdiction. • 26. James Madison And The Federal Convention Essay There are numerous possible conclusions as to what the Constitution may have looked like had James Madison gotten his way at the debates in the Federal Convention. Initially, Madison s vision of government lined up with the Virginia Plan presented by Edmund Randolph to the Federal Convention on May 29th, 1787. This plan stressed the interest of a stronger national government, with representation in the legislative branch based on the apportionment of people, instead of states, and subjected state laws to a veto by the national government. Despite the early plan of government, it is more realistic to assert that Madison s vision for government was pliable, and that his vision evolved through the convention to appear as it did on September 17, 1787. Considering Madison s comments in both the Federal Convention along with his subsequent authorship of certain Federalist Papers, under the pseudonym Publius, it is clear that through the deliberative process of debate during the convention that James Madison s vision for a national government was almost wholly reconciled to the final draft. James Madison achieved the majority of his desires for a new constitution, mainly protection against the encroachment by states on federal power, limiting the power of those in government by creating separate distinct functions for each branch of government and finally by securing rights of individuals structurally by extending the republic. The Civil Rights Movement And The LGBTQ Rights Movement Civil Rights Movement and The LGBTQ Rights Movement The Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and the LGBTQ rights movement happening now seem different on the surface but are more similar underneath. Many of the differences found between the two movements are only comparing the outer layer and not what is going on below that layer. When you look at how similar they are at the core, you will start to see a scary trend in the way people treat minorities in our society. The disturbing truth is people fear differences. The two movements were started during different times. The Civil Rights Movement started in 1955 and continued till 1968 (Janken). The LGBTQ movement was officially founded in 1986 and is still going on now (LGBTQ). African Americans in the past and present are being discriminated against and oppressed because of their skin color (Patterson). The LGBTQ community is oppressed and discriminated against for their sexuality and gender (Singh and Durso). In the 1960s, the African Americans were legally segregated from the majority because it was easy to tell the difference between the oppressive group and the oppressed group (Jim). Looking at someone will not reveal what their sexuality is, so this makes it difficult for the oppressors to separate them from the majority group. These differences create the idea that each movement is happening for unique reasons, but this is only when you look at the top layer of the movements. We know that both ... • 38. Eric Johnson Let Parents Be Parents Summary In Eric Johnson s article Let Parents Be Parents, published by the Chronicle of Higher Education February 5, 2017, he gives an overarching theme of simplifying the mechanics of college and argues that less parental instruction is needed on campuses today. Johnson appeals to college boards, educators, professors, and parents alike to help remake policy on campus. Johnson s purpose in writing this article comes from the rise in complexity that college life has become. He emphasizes that parents should be involved in their son s/daughter s college life, but suggests ways to help eliminate academic bureaucracy, which would streamline parental involvement. Johnson claims that parents are busy enough without having to traverse the difficulties of introductory college processes with their sons/daughters and gives arguments to support these ideas. Although there are flaws in his writing, over all Johnson writes convincingly, using plain speech with well thought out word choice and rhetorical strategies which give him credibility in the eyes of the reader about his ideas and arguments. Johnson does an excellent job of starting off his argument by appealing to the readers emotions. He provides a glimpse into his first impressions of college. He shows that although his parents didn t help him register for college and were not there in person holding his hand, they were supportive, loving, and he didn t turn out worse for wear. • 39. The Physics Of Infrared Radiation A vibration can result in an absorption peak of infrared radiation, only if there is a change in the dipole moment of the molecule. The larger this change, the more intense will be the absorption band. Furthermore, the electron polarity vectors in the covalent bond should not cancel out i.e the covalent bonds must be asymmetric. Asymmetrical bonds carry a net polarity vector and show absorption peaks; bonds that are centered along the plane of symmetry cancel out their polarity vectors upon stretching and there is no net change in dipole moment. Such molecules are known to be infrared inactive. An infrared spectrum is the plot of absorbance (or % transmission) against the wavenumber (cm 1) (Rehman et al., 2012). Wavenumber is defined as number of waves in a length of one centimeter and is a commonly used unit for representing spectral regions. Wavenumber is linear with energy and is expressed with the following equation.Significant parts of the spectrum are the regions where the molecule absorbs the infrared energy. These are shown as characteristic absorption peaks. A molecule can only absorb radiation when the incoming infrared radiation is of the same frequency as one of the fundamental modes of vibration of the molecule (Stuart and Barbara, 2004). The modes of vibration usually encountered include bending, stretching, wagging and out of plane vibrations. These molecular vibrations result in changes in dipole moments of the molecular groups and the resulting vibrating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Amazon s Strategic Issue Of Amazon One of the weaknesses that Amazon has would be their operational issue. Amazon is a big company and their operational issues should be considered a weakness. The reason why they could possibly have an operational issue can either be that they accidently or purposely overlooked the issue, or assumed that they will be fine and the plan would be successful. Either way, this issue could have been stopped. To big companies like Amazon, receiving a filing complaint should be common but it is not something they should get used to or else it can result in a decrease in reputation, revenue decrease, or even both. But there are some alternative solutions that can be considered. Operational Issues Alternative One One solution that Amazon can use would be to take advantage of the legal team and also have them thoroughly go through and identifying potential danger problems including patents that might cause a potential infringement. For the issue of patents as an example, doing a careful infringement review during the product concept stage can help the company be assured that they would not have to worry about carrying a high risk of liability. The advantage of this alternative is that the planner or the team of planners is not the only one reviewing the paper. Having someone review the plan might catch more potential problems that the planner might not have seen or missed so this can greatly increase the chance of verifying all the potential problems. The disadvantage is that it can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well not necessarily even a seemingly straightforward question like this can get an assortment of different and diverse responses depending on just who is polled. Take for example, if you were to question a moral relativist they would claim that there is no such thing as an absolute sense of good and bad or even justness for that matter. They would claim that human nature and mortality is an ever changing phenomena simply defined by many socio cultural and historical factors nothing more or nothing less. Compare that response to that of a spiritual or religious individual and they would claim that goodness is the product of some external force or god. And if we live ... • 42. The Effect Of Table Salt And Sugar On The Melting Rate Of Ice The Effect of Table Salt and Sugar on the Melting Rate of Ice A common practice during the winter when roads ice over is to spread salt to melt the ice. According to Senese (2015), the salt melts the ice by disrupting the equilibrium between freezing and melting water molecules. The dissolved salt molecules cause the capture of water molecules by ice for freezing to slow while not affecting the rate of melting. This phenomenon is also referred to as freezing point depression. As the molality, or the amount of solute (ex: salt) in a solution (ex: salt water) is increased, the chemical potential of the solution decreases causing the freezing point of the solution to also decrease (Echipare Harju, 2015). However, one might ask why salt is the specific solute used to melt ice on roads, when freezing point depression applies to many combinations of solutes and solvents. The most obvious answer may be price, but another affordable and abundant solute also exists: sugar. Which is faster at melting ice: salt or sugar? Hypothesis Of the frozen solutions, the solution containing table salt will melt in the shortest amount of time, followed by the sugar solution, and then pure water. Rationale When adding a solute such as table salt or sugar to water, the resulting solution undergoes freezing point depression. As a result of freezing point depression, the solution results in an increase of entropy, which causes the boiling point of the solution to increase and the freezing point to ... The debates basically allow the candidates to go head to head with one another and see who can handle themselves more efficiently and who has the most going for them. As far as coverage, newspapers usually provide more material to the campaign than does television, due to the large amount of reporters able to cover the campaign as well as less cost and time restraints as TV. Newspapers also have the benefit of corrective journalism (Gorin 2).
