Debate On Morality And Morality
Morality: Nature vs. Religion
There are many ways that a person could perceive what justice is. This is because justice is a notion of
one s moral rightness based on their ethics, religion and laws. Usually religion is the cause for the
many different views of what should be morally right and wrong. These different views of morals
have sparked many arguments over the centuries resulting in what could be a never ending feud
between the theists and the anti theists. Many authors who have dabbled with the subject, such as
Friedrich Nietzsche, argue from a naturalistic perspective, and believe that humanity is responsible for
controlling their nature given passions, and also states that religion is anti nature. (Nietzsche) Then

Obviously, there must be some correlation between the concepts of religion and morality, and
Murdoch states that, The most evident bridge between morality and religion is the idea of virtue. In
this essay, Murdoch approaches the subject of morality in a psychological way, and examines the
virtues of duty. According to Murdoch, Dutifulness could be an account of morality with no hint of
religion , and suggests that duty and reason fit well with each other.(Murdoch) In the essay, Murdoch
constantly is always questioning religious beliefs and how they are related with morality, but
ultimately stating that with religion, morality increases, because Religion symbolizes high moral
ideas... which are more intimate and accessible than the unadorned promptings of reason.

continent of Asia there are numerous amount of countries, languages and ethnic groups, one third of
the languages spoken in the world are in Asia. South Asia consists of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan,

tension and animosity between certain religious and ethnic groups, which is still ongoing today and
the outside world may not be aware of it, but in the film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer by Aparna Sen the
unsettled issues are addressed. Mr and Mrs Iyer addresses the social hierarchies and the ethnic
differences in India and shows how each group perceives one another. On the bus there is a group of

Descriptive Essay On The Lost Wallet
The Lost Wallet The sun was shining, and it was an overall great day. I was walking down with my
friends enjoying the weather, and their company. We were going to the best cafe on the street, the one
we ve been going to since we were kids. My friends and I took the shortcut through the allée. As soon
as we walked into the alley, the sunlight washed away and the darkness flooded in. I could feel the
darkness cold on my back, as we ran through the creepy path. I made sure my wallet was secure inside
my pant pocket. It s always so scary in here. Can t this alley just let some sunlight in? Mary, one of my
friends shivered as she spoke. Her dark brown hair stood on end, and her hands shook. This alley
spooked us since we were kids. Au contraire, there is sunlight at the entrance and exit of this alley.
Amy, my other friend said. Ok, sure. AHHHHH! I screamed as loud as I could, at in an instance the
pull went away. Lily! What happened? My friends both said in unison. I turned and looked around for
the source of the trouble. There was nothing that seemed like it could pull on me. Agh. I must have
made it all up in my mind. Man! I must have made it all up in my head. I can t seem to shake this
feeling off of my back. It s this creepy alley. I shook my head, and saw that my scream had scared the
socks off of my friends. Sorry guys, let s just get out of here. We all held hands and ran ,as fast as our
legs would take us, out of that wretched place. As soon as we

The Issue Of Equal Pay For Equal Work
The issue of equal pay for equal work performed by women; is a political hot button in the 2016
presidential campaign. So much so that the stump speeches, for both former secretary of state Hillary
Clinton, and senator, Bernie Sanders, always include this issue. Since the 1960s, congress and many
researchers have tested this theory. In order to affirm the validity of this message, we will perform a
five step hypothesis test. In the book, Statistical Techniques in Business Economics, authors D. Lind,
W. Marchal S. Wathen (2012), describe how to conduct this test of hypothesis. We seek to determine if
two sampled populations, females and males, have the same mean (arithmetic average) wages. The
process begins with only the raw data from a 2005 wages database. As a result, the authors further
explain: The method described does not require that we know the standard deviations of the
populations (2012). For that reason, we assume the sampled populations are equal, but, the standard
deviations are unknown. Then, we use the t test as the test statistic, with 30 degrees of freedom.
Problem Statement In an online article entitled The Simple Truth About the Gender Pay Gap ,

were paid, a gap of 21 percent? The gap has narrowed since the 1970s, due largely to women s

Foolishness In Shakespeare s Twelfth Night
In the play Twelfth Night, Shakespeare displays the common theme of foolishness throughout his play
through his characters actions, behaviors, and words; while doing this he creates a diversified
spectrum of foolery that can be witnessed through dramatic irony, indirect characterization, and
dialogue that reinforces the idea behind certain jocose, satirical events within the lives of the
characters in the play. During the play, Malvolio believes a secret, romantic letter has been personally
written to him by the countess Olivia addressing her passionate desire for his love. Without his
knowledge the letter has actually been written by the servant Maria to teach him a profound lesson
about the ways of selfiness and self love. This causes the others including: Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, and
Fabian to despise him and his churlish disposition. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After hearing a insult by Malvolio in which he calls him a foolish knight we get Sir Andrew s
immediate response, I knew twas I, for many do call me fool (II.v.81). Based on Sir Andrew s
dialogue we can assume that he really isn t trying to hide his stupidity. He did not pick up on Malvolio
s rudeness, instead he automatically agreed with him, admitting to all the other characters that he gets
called a fool on a regular basis. This in general establishes him as a natural fool in relation to the
overall theme Shakespeare s uses in his play. His intentional lack of intelligence was done on purpose
to provide the audience a idea behind the complete embodiment on what a fool really is. Unlike the
other common characters in the play, Sir Andrew lacks quick wit and common sense which shows he
is a complete folly to the group. This overall causes his character not to be taken serious at all because
of the stereotypical lack of intelligence he shows when he communicates with the other characters in

Social Issues In Northanger Abbey, By Jane Austen
Northanger Abbey is a classic written by Jane Austen. The novel is celebrated as a literary masterpiece
that deals with the English social class system, along with the social rules and it shows the results of
choices made by the characters. The story follows Catherine Morland, a girl who is heavily influenced
by books, but is also very naïve to the outside world. Catherine lives in the modest town of Fullerton,
and her life there has been mostly very protected and sheltered from lifestyles and habits of people
outside of Fullerton. The Morlands are friends with another family named the Allen s. They are
wealthy members of society, and they extend an invitation to take Catherine with them to Bath, which
is a wealthy area for families that meet that clientele. Because her life in Fullerton has been so
sheltered and moderate, her experience in Bath is a whole new world and it excites and scares her
alike. While in Bath, Catherine is introduced to a young man by the name of Henry Tilney, a ... Show

The varying hierarchies between Catherine and Isabella and between Catherine and Henry are
interesting for one to read through. The effects the social classes had on Isabella were arguably greater
than any other major character in the story. She was attracted to the drama, gossip, and vigor of that
lifestyle. Isabella thrived on knowing the important information about people in the society, and she
was well learned on other people s personal lives. The idea of having a rich and popular and important
husband caught her attention more than marrying for love did. She was engaged to James for love, but
once a better offer came along in the form of Captain Frederick Tilney, she had a change of heart.
Suddenly, she was content with leaving behind her fiancé of humble beginnings and earning for

The History of the Large, Agrarian Country of Romania
Romania is a large agrarian country. Its long history is one of being a rich agricultural country, with its
people deeply connected to the land. Romanian farmers have weathered many crises and changes over
the centuries, but their connection to the land has always remained strong. Now, they find themselves
once again at a crossroad. Agriculture today is plagued by many problems: the deep scars left by the
communist regime, the current agro politics, the lack of quality development and the poverty in the
Romanian countryside are the main issues effecting Romanian agriculture growth and development.
During the communist regime, Romanian farmers lost their rights over their lands. The
collectivization of Romanian agricultural lands led to a huge loss for the rural community and to the
nation s agricultural traditions. Large numbers of peasants were moved from the countryside to cities
never to work the land again, never to pass on the knowledge and skills to their children. To these days
the word cooperative has a negative connotation for the rural society within Romania.
Toward the end of 1989, the communist regime came to an end. However the agricultural system
remained unchanged. Most of the large state farm cooperatives were privatized and ended up being
bought by the same people that used to own and operate them.
The same paradox continues today. The current Romanian agricultural politics is directly supporting
the large industrial farms that benefit from the

Earth Moving Equipment
Introduction
Earth moving equipment are the machines human make to replace the hard work from the human; the
machines made by humans to perform digging; grading; leveling; removing; etc to earth moving from
one side to the other side. There is Bulldozer, excavator, grader, loader, roller, forklift, tractor, bobcat,
and truck, etc.
Earth moving equipment is replacing the hard tough work; back break jobs to easy jobs for the
workers. Machines do a lot better than the human force. They can do a big job in the short time. So the
time can be save and finish the job earlier, leading to the economic affect. They run by the power

The special task of this machine is digging.
In the early age when the human tools are just the picks, shovels. With the basic tools, men must work
very hard to tackle the job. Now the machines are in place after time to time to refine, the excavator
322B appears to help. This unit is used to replace the manpower by machine, with the circle rate very
fast; it can do the job better on the field. It can dig or pick up a huge amount of dirt and ship it aside. It
can break the rock to the small pieces to level the surface in a limit time. The machine can handle a
job equal to 200 man power in daily work.
This machine was built to counteract the need of huge digging job around the field. It operates with
the other earth moving machines such as dump truck, loader, etc
We can see this machines every where: around the field, in the habour, in city, on the side of the road.
Perhaps it is busy digging sand, breaking down rock, digging the drain lines, and lifting a piece of
concrete. Really, it is a great machine.
The machine is run by tracks. The speed is up to 5.5 km/hr. The huge arm attaches to the body of the
unit. With the hydraulic system, the arm can stretch out, fold in, lift high in the sky, and dig deep into
the surface of the earth. With the special basket located on the tip of the arm, it can dig deep into the

How Did Jp Morgan Help The Government Out Of The Panic Of...
In the 1890 s, J.P Morgan was famous for helping the government out of the Panic of 1893. While
doing this, he made a lot of extra money in the process. This caused a lot of negative controversy in
the public, and the people began to doubt the government s liability. From the book Grover Cleveland,
a Study of Courage, the author comments, hard handed Americans believed that Cleveland... had sold
the credit of the republic to the Morgans... and had pocketed a share of the price. Their vituperative
anger was additional evidence of a sectional and class bitterness (Nevins 665). This shows the side of
the story from the perspective of an American citizen. On top of that, Morgan refused to tell the public
how much money he made from helping the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What Morgan was doing was using his power to gain control of all railways and, this resulted in
stopping other companies from trading along these railroads. This made companies very upset, and
that the fact that this entire incident was illegal forced Morgan to close one of his companies down. As
a middle class citizen, this would make you wary of all of Morgan s other monopolies also, because if
he almost got away with one illegal act, what else could he do? On another note, Morgan dominated
certain insurance companies, and was again using his power and wealth to end up making the people
pay for his expenses. In an article discussing this, They[Morgan s company] had $50 million a year to
invest money given by ordinary people for their insurance policies . This is just another example of
how J.P Morgan used other people s money for his own self. If you begin to think in the public
mindset, the phrase, They control the people through the people s own money , begins to make sense.
This all connects to a political cartoon showing Morgan controlling a machine labeled Wall Street that
was controlling the people s money and forcing an American citizen to work for the company at the
same time. Overall, Morgan used tactics that were only for himself, and negatively impacted society.

Identity, Societal Norms and the American Dream Sylvia Plath and Truman Capote throughout their
work both create unique individuals with internal and external forces holding them back. In The Bell
Jar, we are introduced to Ester who is a young and attractive women in college with a successful path
in life but is held back by madness and depression. In Breakfast at Tiffany s, we are introduced to a
unique character who makes up most of the story. We are introduced to Holiday Golightly but is
refereed to as Holly throughout the story, Holly is the main character of the story and the narrator
writes about her life. Holly makes a living as a companion to many wealthy and important men, who
lavish her with money and expensive beautiful gifts. The narrator meets Holly when she leaves her
husband and moves to New York, throughout her life and the story Holly is extremely unstable and
irresponsible. In both, The Bell Jar and Breakfast at Tiffany s, societal norms and the american dream
are major themes that help the readers understand the characters lives and behaviors. Both The Bell
Jar and Breakfast at Tiffany s, are stories that take place during the 1940s and 1950s where the role of
women was restricted in America. During this time, there were expectations placed on women by
society. In both stories we see the female characters being torn between doing what they desire or

Pros And Cons Of Child Beauty Pageants
Imagining if one day you saw your five year old daughter with a full face of makeup and high heels.
Now she looks like a miniature adult. Not only is she a miniature adult, but now she also is very self
conscious of herself and has an eating disorder at five years old. Child beauty pageants have some
pros and a of lot cons to them. Also, they can affect a child s development. One should consider that
child beauty pageants can lead to a lot of mental health issues for kids at a very young age. First, we
will talk about how child beauty pageants started. The upbringing of child beauty pageants is very
interesting. It started off with Pageants celebrating female beauty and charm being fixture at fairs and
festivals the U.S. since the 19th century (Hilboldt), and then Their rise in popularity probably dates
back to 1954, when the miss America pageants was first broadcasted on TV (Hilboldt). In 1960, a
miami broadcaster hosted the first locally televised pageant for children, Little Miss universes
(Hilboldt). Around The 1980 s child pageants had become an inextricable part of life in the South...
(Hilboldt). Pageants have dated back for centuries, but did not rise in popularity until it was first
broadcasted on TV. Furthermore, the number of kids that participate in beauty pageants is eminence. A
majority of little girls wanted to be in pageants, because They began dreaming of one day becoming
Miss America (Hilboldt). With so many kids in pageants It s estimated that 25,000 children compete in
more than 5,000 pageants in the U.S. each year (Hilboldt). It is crazy how many little girls participate
in beauty pageants each year just so they can hopefully become the next Miss America. While beauty
pageants are still relevant and legal in the U.S. France is trying to ban them. France is considering a
move to ban beauty pageants for girls under 16 as a way to fight the hyper sexualization of children (
France ). While, Under the proposal, organizers of beauty pageants aimed at young children...could

Hinduism is one of the world s oldest religions. Hindus believe in many gods, numbering into the

Followers work to break this cycle birth, death, and rebirth and gain release. The Hindu s soul then

A Experiment On Separation And Purification Methods
This experiment introduces separation and purification methods used in research quite frequently.
These methods include hot vacuum filtration and recrystallization to purify a crude sample of
acetanilide containing two impurities. Recrystallization is a very common method that is used to
purify solids. This process dissolves a crude solid with impurities in a mildly boiling solvent, and
cooling down the mixture afterwards for crystals to reconstruct themselves in solution. This method
allows impurities to separate and remain in solution as precipitate or remain uniform in solution.
Solids are more soluble in hot solvents than in cold ones, allowing maximum dissolution for proper
separation and subsequent crystallization to occur. After purifying the compound, the melting point is
determined using the Mel Temp technology to compare to the written melting point to see how pure
the sample truly is. The proper steps of recrystallization include selecting a solvent that fits the
characteristic of all the components, water in this experiment. Then, dissolving a crude sample in the
chosen solvent (at or close to the solvent boiling point), forming solid in the solution as cooling takes
place, using vacuum filtration to isolate the purified solid, ridding the crystals of all impurities through
drying. In this experiment, recrystallization allows purification of 150 mg of crude acetanilide. Hot
vacuum filtration is a process used. The process requires using a filter flask, Pasteur

The Case Brought Between Paola Faccini Dori And Recreb Srl
Jaclyn Clark The case brought between Paola Faccini Dori and Recreb Srl was brought before the
Court in March 1992. The case was brought for a preliminary ruling under Article 177 of the EEC
Treaty for the interpretation of Council directive 85/577/EEC. The directive is aimed at Consumer
protections in contracts which are negotiated away from business premises (OJ 1985 L 372, pg. 31,
hereinafter the directive ). The main question was if the directive could be relied on in preceding s
between a trader and a consumer. On January 19th, 1989 Miss Faccini Dori and Interdiffusion SRL
concluded a contract for an English Language correspondence court away from Interdiffusion s
business premises at Milan Central Railway station. Miss Faccini ... Show more content on

June 30th 1989 Recreb went to the Giudice Conciliatore di Firenze asking for them to step in and
order Miss Faccini Dori to pay, with interest, the agreed upon amount that was in the contract.
November 20th of the same year a judge ordered payment of Miss Faccini Dori. Miss Faccini Dori
then objected to the order stating she had already removed herself from the contract following the
directives instructions on how to do so. Italian law at the time had not yet taken steps to intergrade the
directive into national law even though the time in which they were given to implement the directive
into their national law was December 23rd 1987 and had already expired. The directive was not
implemented until March 3rd 1992 with the addition of the adoption of another legislative act. Since
the directive had not been transposed into national law during the material time of the claim the
national court was indecisive if the directives provisions could be ultimately applied. The national
court then referred the question to the Court for a preliminary ruling. One of the two questions it
referred to the Court was if the provisions in the directive dealing with cancellation are unconditional
and sufficiently suffice. In this regard The Court stated that Article 1(1) says the directive applied to
contracts made with a consumer when the trader, who is providing goods and services, had
independently organized to do business outside of its business premises

Mycomb Moby House Fire
MAYCOMB COUNTY A house fire in the winter this year, 1935, was caused by a lamp being left on
to warm some potted plants at 1:00 AM in the home of Maudie Atkinson. As the fire was spewing out
of the house on the main residential street, many neighbors were watching the event unfold, and they
also helped Maudie get some of her recoverable furniture out of the house. Fire trucks immediately
arrived on the scene. This was not much help because the town fire truck could not function correctly
that night. The truck had stopped working that night due to the cold. A group of men had to push the
truck to Maudie s house to try to extinguish the flames. The fire started to quickly spread to other
neighboring houses including the Finch

Theme Of Nature In Thoreau
discards the language of obedience and redemption used by the church. To Thoreau, Nature and God
are at once synonymous and interconnected: Next to us the grandest laws are continually being
executed. Next to us is not the workman we have hired, with whom we love so well to talk, but the
workman whose work we are. (175) Thoreau believes in a creator god, a living god that makes of
Nature his home. Thoreau feels Nature is a divine space: a space where man is able to feel close to his
god, a space where man is able to appreciate his god s favors and Nature is the space where man can
embrace the god within himself. Influenced by Emerson, Coleridge and Wordsworth, among others,
Thoreau thinks that nature is the source of strength, spirituality ... Show more content on

that way, but never getting on more than half a rod at a time; and then suddenly pausing with a

as a whole, as a distinct, living and essential presence rather than as an accumulation of items to which
man assigns significance. The interconnectedness of the various components of nature is illustrated in
this passage of Walden: Standing at the smooth sandy beach at

Putting A Tax On Junk Food Essay
That have gone without, including paying for breakfast to be held in schools as kids won t be getting a
decent breakfast at home because their parents and guardians would be having to pay more for the
food that they want. However, I personally don t agree with this statement, putting a tax on junk food
won t necessarily eradicate the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemic from overconsuming junk foods,
but it will reduce the consumption by a certain amount, however it s something that s not going to
happen overnight. This is similar to smoking in the sense that smoking is taxed because it s pernicious
not only to the person concerned, but the society around them and even though smoking is taxed,
people are still prepared to buy cigarettes at a ridiculously expensive price so they can still smoke, but
the number of people that smoke has decreased by a reasonable amount. Research..... Therefore if the
government puts a tax on junk food it will have a corresponding effect as to how smoking was taxed.
The government needs to establish a tax on all unhealthy foods and uses the money to subsidize fruit
and vegetables and promote and educate healthy eating in schools. By doing this type two diabetes
and obesity and the health issues that have been derived from these epidemics will decrease this will
mean that more people will be healthier and therefore live longer. At the moment junk food is

Alka-Seltzer Experiment
The purpose of this project is to test if smaller reactants create a faster chemical change. This test also
will show if hot or cold water affect the time of the chemical reaction. The experiment will show if
reactants are broken down into smaller particles can the chemical reactions speed up, the increase of
CO2 at ten second intervals. This will be done using an experiment with Alka seltzer tablets, varying
their physical composition and timing the release of CO2 over ten second intervals.
Alka Seltzer tablets have ingredients that help with indigestion, stomach aches, headaches, and
inflammation. The ingredients inside of a Alka Seltzer tablet are: 325 mg of aspirin, 1000 mg of citric
acid , and 1916 mg of sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate is a white powder that can be used as a
buffering agent for pH, a cleaning solution, and a electrolyte replenisher.Additionally, sodium
bicarbonate uses ions to increase plasma and create a buffering agent for pH. The molecular formula
for sodium bicarbonate is NaHCO3. Another primary ingredient in Alka Seltzer is citric acid. Citric

flavoring, aroma and preservatives. The essential oil content and oleoresins present in the spices have
given them the flavoring and aroma. In addition, the essential oil can also act as a natural preservative
in foods (Ceylan and Fung, 2004). Other than flavoring, aroma and preservatives, spices have many
therapeutic properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, chemopreventive and antifungal. The
antimicrobial properties of spices have led to the development of plant origin antibiotics so as to

The Rise Of The Telecommunications Industry
The rise of the Telecommunications industry, particularly within the last 25 years has been swift and
profitable due to the creation of a number of groundbreaking technologies. With the recent movement
toward a yearly, or sometimes even monthly rollout of these new technologies, constant innovation
has become a necessity in order to remain competitive within this space. Although there are only a few
major players that dominate the Telecommunication industry, this does not hinder the ability of new
entrants to carve out a corner of the underserved markets and continue to drive innovation. This need
for innovation pushes Telecommunications companies to continue to grow, discover, and diversify as
they look to implement the corporate and competitive strategies which will help their company to
succeed within the industry. Companies often employ a number of corporate level strategies as they
look for which strategies will help them to succeed in the industry and set the company apart from
their competitors, this is the case with Motorola Solutions Inc (Appendix 1). Motorola looked to
diversify their company through investments in startups as well as other emerging companies who s
technology and ideas could benefit Motorola. This was a necessary step for Motorola as they look to

Puerto Rican Music as Representation of Their History and Culture
Puerto Rican music is an evolving art form that expresses Puerto Rican culture and identity. The
development of Puerto Rican music is also a reflection of their history, both being complicated by
several layers. Social, political, and economic conditions are all related to the musical expressions of
Puerto Ricans (Glasser, 8). Puerto Rican migration to the United States and the culture clash
experienced by migrants is another layer complicating the evolution of Puerto Rican music (Glasser,

is an illustration of the Puerto Rican experience.

Geology Essay
Geology is everywhere! We use items made from rocks and minerals all day and every day. Per the
University of Oregon, the Natural History Museum states that it is estimated that every person in the
United States will use more than three million pounds of rocks, minerals and metals during their
lifetime. A mineral is an inorganic substance occurring chemical compound, usually of crystalline
form that can be manipulated and used to make something else. A rock is the solid mineral material
that forms on the earths surface, and in the ocean. We use different rocks and minerals based on the
geologic timescale and the human time scale. Rocks and minerals are the building blocks of life. They

They can be manipulated and transformed into various objects. Most minerals have more than one
purpose because they are so organic. Gold has been a hot commodity since it was discovered. Gold is
bought and sold every day, and every person wants their hands on it. Gold was named California s
state mineral in 1965 following the gold rush. It is used for mostly jewelry as well as for medals and
trophies. Gold can also be used in dentistry machine equipment. Today in society, gold is a symbol of
power and status. The more gold you have the more money people think you have. Talc is common
when it comes to powder like substances. It is one of the main ingredients in baby powder, and in the
powders used in gymnastics for good grip. Quartz is one of the most versatile minerals on earth s crust
as well as the most common. It is used to make sandpaper, soap, pottery, heavy equipment, heat ray
lamps, glass, paints, radios, televisions, clocks, computers, and watches. Quartz has many different
uses because of its special properties; under mechanical stress, it can develop electric properties.

Cravendale Milk Essay
The Cravendale advert was created by Wieden and Kennedy commissioned by Belgian animators Pic
Pic and Andre to create this interesting series of stop motion ads for Arla, which are the makers of
Cravendale filtered milk. The series shows how these characters explore different places and have a

technique of animating toy figures that the older generation might recognise brings people a sense of
nostalgia as well as a charm. Seeing these old figurines that people will remember from their
childhood come alive in such a manner brings distinctive humour to the advert which the family can

other figures are doing actions that kids would do. For example at the start you see the main character

Trophies for Participation
Roxanne Jones created an article called, Listen kids, not everyone is a winner . In this editorial, Jones
began the topic of children getting trophies for doing well and participating in activities. She discussed
that she does not support the idea of a child receiving awards for participation. Throughout the article,
she made valid points toward her argument against giving children awards, in turn that made me agree
with her. There are many reasons as to why children should not be given trophies for participation.
The first reason why children should not be given trophies, is that they will not be ready for the harsh
reality of the world. They will think everything will be handed to them if they just participate in an
activity. In the future, they won t work hard enough to earn awards, because they will think they can
get by with little effort. Their work in the future will lack quality and quantity, since their thinking has
been corrupted in turn making them feel they can get praise without doing the required work
thoroughly and exquisitely. James Harrison agrees with this message, as in the article he made a

Media Representation In America
In my artistic work, I decided to pursue and address an issue that stands out to me because of its lack
of media representation in America during an era where media is more obtainable than ever. The
Israeli Palestinian conflict is rarely reported in mainstream media in the United States. Instead, topics
such as celebrity gossip dominate headlines and it s tragic to me; the Kardashians are mentioned more
in the news than West Bank or Gaza combined. The people in Palestine have no voice in America and
yet America is the perpetrator of their injustice. How can we, as Americans, face our own mistakes if
we aren t even aware that we re making them? We boast that all men are created equal when we tell
Palestinians everyday that Israelis deserve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People rely on their news sources as their gateway to the rest of the world and when these gateways
are compromised by the government, the people of those countries lose their ability to fight injustice.
In my illustration, the two individuals are blindfolded to demonstrate the national blindness in present
day America. Our cluelessness of what happens beyond our country is a direct result of our
government s choke hold on the press; America is known as a country of freedom and yet we are often
isolated from the knowledge we deserve to know illustrated by the use of the umbrella above the table.
The pillar connecting the barbed wire fence surrounding Gaza has the American colors because the
United States government has an incriminating role in what has been happening in Palestine, but it is
so far removed beyond the picturesque Hollywood Hills that not many people know about it. Within
the barricaded fence, a bomb is titled the truth , because the truth of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is
that devastation has been tearing Gaza apart. The bomb is colossal in proportion to its own fencing to
exemplify how large that devastation is. I hope that upon my audience seeing my art, they will grow
intrigued and actively seek out the truth about the government s role in the Middle East. Inspirations
for my piece come from a recent flux of political cartoons in response to Trump s election. I was
amazed at how cartoons, which can be so incredibly simple, can convey such intense and important
messages to its audience by the uses of symbolism, irony, and exaggeration. To sum up, this art piece
asks for Americans to dare and pull off the blindfold. It dares people to question what is written in the
media, and whether or not what is written truly matters in the grand scheme of world events.
Knowledge is the first step in the process of justice, and the Palestinians deserve

History and Evolution of Health Care Economics
Healthcare economics has drastically changed over the years. It makes up for one sixth of American
budget (Johnson, 2009). Health care economics has drastically changed partly due to new advances in
technology over the years. Money is the factor of health care economics. Money drives economics and
makes up health care and how far it can go. Economics will continue to change and financial advisors
who have more education on health care economic advances will be beneficial to keep with changes in
economics. Economics focuses on market. Market is like the buyer buys a product or ... Show more

One particular factor for the drastically changing health care economics is the fact that as wealthier
people became, the more willing they were to pay for goods and services. Even now, health care is
most often on people s list after they buy food for their families and essentials for their home. With all
the new advances in technology it has created a change in the supply and demand of health care
economics. People in the 1900s were not as eager to consult with getting health care services as they
are in today s time. Medical services have advanced with medications, surgeries, exams, and patient
care. Shifting the financial burden also makes medical care more desirable to individuals. Insurance
companies paying for all or most of medical costs give people more incentive to seek treatment or get
regular visits by the doctor. The value of health care is also the change that has come to health care
economics. People feel their health is priceless and valuable. They are willing to pay to make sure
they are healthy and live a long life. Although the feeling has changed about health care and people
have more money to spend, health care has made dramatic changes in their costs as well. These
changing costs have made a change in health care economics as well. Debt in the US now is mostly
credited to health care bills that Americans rack up. People are willing to spend as much as money as
possible to pay for

s Between heterosexual, homosexual, bi sexual, pansexual most people may claim that they already
know and have a solid understanding about the basics of sexual orientation and what one identifies
with gender wise. We live in a primarily heteronormative society where a naturally heterosexual male
and female get together. Yet who s to say which is normal and which is natural ? Of course as Alfred
Kinsey proposed that sexual orientation is believed to exist on a continuum that ranges from exclusive
heterosexuality to exclusive homosexuality and includes various forms of bisexuality. When did it

them on that continuum? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Science would say that they are born. However there is no gene that can determine sexual orientation
and they believe that there are many factors that can influence one s sexual orientation. However it
sexuality weren t socially constructed, we wouldn t have to determine one s sexual identity.
Same sex love has been going on for centuries, In Ancient Greece, men used to have sexual relations
with adolescent boys however there were basis for sexual identity. The men were not considered
homosexual. In fact, in was just met with dominant and submissive roles, not gay or straight or even
really male or female. It was quite normal for the men to sleep with other men. As long as there was a
passive and a dominant figure, it was okay. Homosexuality though blatant was not even a thing.
People should be able to be free and explore their sexual identity as they please without society always
trying to label them. It is our innate right as humans. If we repress all the labels, and embrace sex and
different sexual identities, then and only then can we break from the social construction of sexuality
for good. We need to stop letting sex be something we cannot talk about and we shouldn t let history
continue in the direction its going. We need to educate ourselves on sex and sexuality, because they
are not one and the same but some people get them confused together. It is not about our given sex or

In fact, he had reached the Taino island of Guanahani, which is now modern day San Salvador.
Because Columbus believed he was in India, he named the Indigenous people, Native Indians. While
he was not in India, the name of the Indigenous people remained. While some Natives today are okay
with the term American Indian , some also believe that the term Indian is not okay because they are
not from the country of India (Blackhorse, 2017). Whether or not the terminology is offensive, the
moment Columbus landed, the establishment of marginalization and racism toward Indigenous people
of the land began. Celebrating Columbus with Columbus day is essentially honoring racism.
Racism is defined as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different
race based on the belief that one s own race is superior. While it may not be super obvious today, there
are offensive, discriminatory stereotypes and terms used against Natives today. One example is the use
of the racial slur Redskin as the mascot of the Washington NFL team. The racial slur was used during
a time when people would be paid to kill Native Americans (referred to as Redskins) and this is
representation of how those terms can be present in today s society. As a country, Columbus Day is
celebrated to commemorate the discovery of America and to honor the relationship between the US
and Italy, but at what cost? The truth of Columbus influence on

Billy Gibbons Research Paper
Legendary Beard Fact: In 1984 Gillette offered Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top bandmate Dusty Hill
$1,000,000 to shave their beards in a commercial. He turned them down cold, and wouldn t do it today
for even twice the price. The reason? He dreads the thought of seeing his naked face in a mirror! He
said he was afraid he looked to much like Vincent Price.
Billy Gibbons is perhaps as famous for his chest length beard as he is for his music. As the founding
member of iconic Texas blues rock band ZZ Top, Billy, along with bandmate Dusty Hill have two of
the most famous beards in rock and roll. The third member of the group, ironically, named Frank
Beard, is the only member sporting a naked chin.
Billy started life as William Frederick Gibbons in Houston, TX, in 1949, son of Lorraine and
Frederick Royal Gibbons. He was born into a musical family, as his father was an orchestra leader and
concert pianist. Frederick worked, along with his cousin, legendary set decorator Cedric Gibbons, for
Sam Goldwyn at MGM Studios in Hollywood. The first instrument to pique young Billy s interest was
the drum, and his father sent him off to New York City to study with Tito Puente, the King of Latin
Music. Around his thirteenth birthday, Billy was gifted with his first electric guitar, and it was true
love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This band recorded a number of singles, and one album, and went on to open for the legendary
guitarist Jimi Hendrix during his first American tour as a headliner. When he was about seventeen,
Billy was taught to play the complicated guitar riffs of Sexy Lady by Hendrix himself. Rumor has it
that Hendrix was so impressed by the young Gibbons that he gifted him with the pink stratocaster he
had used on the tour. Hendrix later went on to refer to Billy Gibbons on multiple occasions as one of
the best guitarists in the United

  • 2. Debate On Morality And Morality Morality: Nature vs. Religion There are many ways that a person could perceive what justice is. This is because justice is a notion of one s moral rightness based on their ethics, religion and laws. Usually religion is the cause for the many different views of what should be morally right and wrong. These different views of morals have sparked many arguments over the centuries resulting in what could be a never ending feud between the theists and the anti theists. Many authors who have dabbled with the subject, such as Friedrich Nietzsche, argue from a naturalistic perspective, and believe that humanity is responsible for controlling their nature given passions, and also states that religion is anti nature. (Nietzsche) Then there are other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Murdoch, Dutifulness could be an account of morality with no hint of religion , and suggests that duty and reason fit well with each other.(Murdoch) In the essay, Murdoch constantly is always questioning religious beliefs and how they are related with morality, but ultimately stating that with religion, morality increases, because Religion symbolizes high moral ideas... which are more intimate and accessible than the unadorned promptings of reason. ... • 4. Descriptive Essay On The Lost Wallet The Lost Wallet The sun was shining, and it was an overall great day. I was walking down with my friends enjoying the weather, and their company. We were going to the best cafe on the street, the one we ve been going to since we were kids. My friends and I took the shortcut through the allée. As soon as we walked into the alley, the sunlight washed away and the darkness flooded in. I could feel the darkness cold on my back, as we ran through the creepy path. I made sure my wallet was secure inside my pant pocket. It s always so scary in here. Can t this alley just let some sunlight in? Mary, one of my friends shivered as she spoke. Her dark brown hair stood on end, and her hands shook. This alley spooked us since we were kids. Au contraire, there is sunlight at the entrance and exit of this alley. Amy, my other friend said. Ok, sure. AHHHHH! I screamed as loud as I could, at in an instance the pull went away. Lily! What happened? My friends both said in unison. I turned and looked around for the source of the trouble. There was nothing that seemed like it could pull on me. Agh. I must have made it all up in my mind. Man! I must have made it all up in my head. I can t seem to shake this feeling off of my back. It s this creepy alley. I shook my head, and saw that my scream had scared the socks off of my friends. Sorry guys, let s just get out of here. We all held hands and ran ,as fast as our legs would take us, out of that wretched place. As soon as we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Issue Of Equal Pay For Equal Work The issue of equal pay for equal work performed by women; is a political hot button in the 2016 presidential campaign. So much so that the stump speeches, for both former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, and senator, Bernie Sanders, always include this issue. Since the 1960s, congress and many researchers have tested this theory. In order to affirm the validity of this message, we will perform a five step hypothesis test. In the book, Statistical Techniques in Business Economics, authors D. Lind, W. Marchal S. Wathen (2012), describe how to conduct this test of hypothesis. We seek to determine if two sampled populations, females and males, have the same mean (arithmetic average) wages. The process begins with only the raw data from a 2005 wages database. • 6. Foolishness In Shakespeare s Twelfth Night In the play Twelfth Night, Shakespeare displays the common theme of foolishness throughout his play through his characters actions, behaviors, and words; while doing this he creates a diversified spectrum of foolery that can be witnessed through dramatic irony, indirect characterization, and dialogue that reinforces the idea behind certain jocose, satirical events within the lives of the characters in the play. During the play, Malvolio believes a secret, romantic letter has been personally written to him by the countess Olivia addressing her passionate desire for his love. Without his knowledge the letter has actually been written by the servant Maria to teach him a profound lesson about the ways of selfiness and self love. He did not pick up on Malvolio s rudeness, instead he automatically agreed with him, admitting to all the other characters that he gets called a fool on a regular basis. This in general establishes him as a natural fool in relation to the overall theme Shakespeare s uses in his play. His intentional lack of intelligence was done on purpose to provide the audience a idea behind the complete embodiment on what a fool really is. • 9. The History of the Large, Agrarian Country of Romania Romania is a large agrarian country. Its long history is one of being a rich agricultural country, with its people deeply connected to the land. Romanian farmers have weathered many crises and changes over the centuries, but their connection to the land has always remained strong. Now, they find themselves once again at a crossroad. Agriculture today is plagued by many problems: the deep scars left by the communist regime, the current agro politics, the lack of quality development and the poverty in the Romanian countryside are the main issues effecting Romanian agriculture growth and development. During the communist regime, Romanian farmers lost their rights over their lands. The collectivization of Romanian agricultural lands led to a huge loss for the rural community and to the nation s agricultural traditions. Large numbers of peasants were moved from the countryside to cities never to work the land again, never to pass on the knowledge and skills to their children. To these days the word cooperative has a negative connotation for the rural society within Romania. Toward the end of 1989, the communist regime came to an end. However the agricultural system remained unchanged. Most of the large state farm cooperatives were privatized and ended up being bought by the same people that used to own and operate them. The same paradox continues today. The current Romanian agricultural politics is directly supporting the large industrial farms that benefit from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. A Experiment On Separation And Purification Methods This experiment introduces separation and purification methods used in research quite frequently. These methods include hot vacuum filtration and recrystallization to purify a crude sample of acetanilide containing two impurities. Recrystallization is a very common method that is used to purify solids. This process dissolves a crude solid with impurities in a mildly boiling solvent, and cooling down the mixture afterwards for crystals to reconstruct themselves in solution. This method allows impurities to separate and remain in solution as precipitate or remain uniform in solution. Solids are more soluble in hot solvents than in cold ones, allowing maximum dissolution for proper separation and subsequent crystallization to occur. After purifying the compound, the melting point is determined using the Mel Temp technology to compare to the written melting point to see how pure the sample truly is. The proper steps of recrystallization include selecting a solvent that fits the characteristic of all the components, water in this experiment. Then, dissolving a crude sample in the chosen solvent (at or close to the solvent boiling point), forming solid in the solution as cooling takes place, using vacuum filtration to isolate the purified solid, ridding the crystals of all impurities through drying. In this experiment, recrystallization allows purification of 150 mg of crude acetanilide. Hot vacuum filtration is a process used. The process requires using a filter flask, Pasteur ... However, I personally don t agree with this statement, putting a tax on junk food won t necessarily eradicate the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemic from overconsuming junk foods, but it will reduce the consumption by a certain amount, however it s something that s not going to happen overnight. This is similar to smoking in the sense that smoking is taxed because it s pernicious not only to the person concerned, but the society around them and even though smoking is taxed, people are still prepared to buy cigarettes at a ridiculously expensive price so they can still smoke, but the number of people that smoke has decreased by a reasonable amount. • 26. Alka-Seltzer Experiment The purpose of this project is to test if smaller reactants create a faster chemical change. This test also will show if hot or cold water affect the time of the chemical reaction. The experiment will show if reactants are broken down into smaller particles can the chemical reactions speed up, the increase of CO2 at ten second intervals. This will be done using an experiment with Alka seltzer tablets, varying their physical composition and timing the release of CO2 over ten second intervals. Alka Seltzer tablets have ingredients that help with indigestion, stomach aches, headaches, and inflammation. The ingredients inside of a Alka Seltzer tablet are: 325 mg of aspirin, 1000 mg of citric acid , and 1916 mg of sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate is a white powder that can be used as a buffering agent for pH, a cleaning solution, and a electrolyte replenisher.Additionally, sodium bicarbonate uses ions to increase plasma and create a buffering agent for pH. The molecular formula for sodium bicarbonate is NaHCO3. Another primary ingredient in Alka Seltzer is citric acid. Citric acid is a big factor in metabolism. Citric acid can be found in citric fruit. In this editorial, Jones began the topic of children getting trophies for doing well and participating in activities. She discussed that she does not support the idea of a child receiving awards for participation. Throughout the article, she made valid points toward her argument against giving children awards, in turn that made me agree with her. There are many reasons as to why children should not be given trophies for participation. The first reason why children should not be given trophies, is that they will not be ready for the harsh reality of the world. They will think everything will be handed to them if they just participate in an activity. In the future, they won t work hard enough to earn awards, because they will think they can get by with little effort. Their work in the future will lack quality and quantity, since their thinking has been corrupted in turn making them feel they can get praise without doing the required work thoroughly and exquisitely. People rely on their news sources as their gateway to the rest of the world and when these gateways are compromised by the government, the people of those countries lose their ability to fight injustice. In my illustration, the two individuals are blindfolded to demonstrate the national blindness in present day America. Our cluelessness of what happens beyond our country is a direct result of our government s choke hold on the press; America is known as a country of freedom and yet we are often isolated from the knowledge we deserve to know illustrated by the use of the umbrella above the table. The pillar connecting the barbed wire fence surrounding Gaza has the American colors because the United States government has an incriminating role in what has been happening in Palestine, but it is so far removed beyond the picturesque Hollywood Hills that not many people know about it. Within the barricaded fence, a bomb is titled the truth , because the truth of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is that devastation has been tearing Gaza apart. The bomb is colossal in proportion to its own fencing to exemplify how large that devastation is. I hope that upon my audience seeing my art, they will grow intrigued and actively seek out the truth about the government s role in the Middle East. Inspirations for my piece come from a recent flux of political cartoons in response to Trump s election. I was amazed at how cartoons, which can be so incredibly simple, can convey such intense and important messages to its audience by the uses of symbolism, irony, and exaggeration. With all the new advances in technology it has created a change in the supply and demand of health care economics. People in the 1900s were not as eager to consult with getting health care services as they are in today s time. Medical services have advanced with medications, surgeries, exams, and patient care. Shifting the financial burden also makes medical care more desirable to individuals. Insurance companies paying for all or most of medical costs give people more incentive to seek treatment or get regular visits by the doctor.
