Elvis Losley s Influence
As Elvis Presley once said Truth is like the sun, you can shut it out for a time, but it ain t goin away.
This is one of the most famous quotes from history. Elvis is also known as the King of Rock . This
man made a huge positive influence on the film industry, his famous music, and his talent in playing
several instruments. Elvis made an impact on American citizens with his movies, music, and
instrument playing all throughout the 50 s and 60 s up until his death in 1977. Elvis started out as any
other singer would and at the bottom. But soon rocketed up to the top with his music, singing, and
acting. With the famous film and song Jailhouse Rock this made him on of the most famous people of
his time. He starred in several films such as Flaming Star, Viva Las Vegas, and Tickle Me. This made
him a star all around after films were made with the King of Rock starring in them. Elvis also had

The Issue Of America s Public Schooling
As America charts its course into the twenty first century, we as a people are faced with a new array of
challenges unique to this great nation. Should we put a man on Mars, or build colonies on the Moon?
Should we attempt to solve world hunger, or instead focus our efforts on finding cures for cancer,
AIDS, and cerebral palsy? Should we preemptively murder the entire cast of Jersey Shore before their
final season, or let our ordained punishment for abusing the term bro run its natural course and pray
for forgiveness? All pressing questions, to be sure, and all worthy of consideration. But as a concerned

crisis currently facing this nation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alright, now that I ve thoroughly confused any listeners that may have managed to stick with me up to
the Batman metaphor, allow me to put forth a modest proposal of my own that will finally bring a
peaceful resolution to this current crisis. This breathtakingly ingenious idea came to me after watching
a report on the drug wars in Mexico, and the thought occurred to me that surely there could be a better
use for all that confiscated marijuana. I was correct; and don t call me Shirley. Operation 420, as I
have taken to calling it, will consist of two phases: a launch phase, and a containment phase, with the
objectives being a peaceful halting and dismantling of Iran s nuclear program and the pacification of
that region for years to come. The launch phase will begin with the acquisition and manufacturing of a
plethora of specialized incendiary bombs. These bombs will consist of a small explosive charge to
break open the casing and ignite the contents: weed. Lots of weed. On a predetermined date, most
likely during the month of Ramadan, as the primarily Islamic population of Iran will already be fasting
and thus predisposed to the onset of the infamous munchies , a strike force of aircraft will launch from
the Persian Gulf and, flying in the shape of Porky the Pig so as to scare away any Iranian interceptors,

Knowledge is arguably the World s most valuable resource; without it the human race would be in the
darkness, surrounded by predators and savages. However, the Human race has never been keen to
have its final moments in the dark. Humans produced fire, managed to capture it in glass, built cities
fueled by it and have fought wars over the right to stand in its light. With that in mind, the education
of all Humans is not a task to be taken lightly. The United States has set up countless systems,

The Doctrine Of The Lord s Supper
AMBROSE UNIVERSITY THE DOCTRINE OF THE LORD S SUPPER SUBMITTED TO
BERNIE VAN DE WALLE IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF REL 261 THEOLOGY II: SPIRIT
AND CHURCH BY MO HICKMAN APRIL 7TH, 201 Introduction The Doctrine of the Lord s
Supper is a central part of church life and ecclesiology. During the Lord s Supper, the Church shares in
the bread and the cup in remembrance of Christ and proclaim[s] the Lord s death until He comes.
Theologians have disagreed on what happens to the bread and wine and the role of the Supper. In this
paper, I will outline the basis of the Doctrine of the Lord s Supper and briefly describe its biblical
context. I will then explain how the doctrine was developed during the first centuries and the
reformation. I will conclude by briefly describing the different views held by the Catholic, Reformed,
and Protestant traditions. Outline of the Doctrine The Lord s Supper was ordained by Christ at the
Last Supper. Stott writes that, whenever we share in the Lord s Supper, his sacrifice on the cross is
remembered, partaken of, proclaimed, acknowledged as the ground of our unity, and responded to in
grateful worship. The Lord s Supper is about the cross and remembering Christ s sacrifice through
which salvation is made available. The Lord s Supper is considered the second act of commitment to
Christ s body the Church, after baptism. The Lord s Supper repeatedly acknowledges that one has
been saved through their faith in Christ and that they are a member of

Life Lifelong Learning Career Goals
The Future of Nursing report of 2010 called for the increase in the number of bachelor prepared nurses
in the workforce to 80% by 2020 (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2015). The goal is to
encourage nurses to achieve higher education and seek lifelong learning. Lifelong learning, however,
goes beyond advanced degrees, required CEU credits, annual inservices, and orientations. Lifelong
learning goes above and beyond normal duty. From the first day of nursing school to graduation day to
the first day of orientation to a promotion into leadership roles; the learning never stops. Learning is

The Human Footprint of Plastic Water bottles Essay
Production and Distribution:
Plastic water bottles are considered one of the healthiest beverages you can find in any shop. But are
they really all that healthy for the environment, or is there a fine line between a plastic bottled water
drink and what s best for everyone? Let s take a look at bottled water from the very start to find out.
To manufacture plastic bottles, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is used, and to produce PET, crude
oil and natural gas is required. If one fills a plastic water bottle 1/4th full with oil, they will be looking
at how much oil was used to make that one bottle, so how much oil does it take to make all of America
s water bottles? According to the Pacific Institute, in 2006, making plastic water bottles ... Show more

In fact 22% of test water bottle brands had chemical contaminants higher than the state limit (ABC, 1).
So why do Americans think bottled water is so great? Maybe it s because of how much companies
advertise the product, advertising expenses for bottled water totaled $61 million in 2012 (
International Bottled Water Association 1). Whatever the reason may be, bottled water is the second
most popular beverage in the U.S.A., and more and more bottles of water are being produced and
distributed this very second.
Impact on Environment: Only 20% of water bottles that are purchased make it to the recycle bin
(Gunzelmann 1). So what happens to all the bottles that are not recycled? The bottles first
photodegrade, meaning they slowly break down into smaller pieces, and then it is estimated to take
between 500 to 1,000 years for the plastic to biodegrade. While the plastic is slowly breaking down, it
either stays in a landfill, 38 billion plastic bottles end up in U.S. landfills each year ( Canned Water 4
Kids ); or it ends up in the ocean, According to Canned Water 4 Kids, there is a garbage patch floating
in the Pacific Ocean that is estimated to be twice the size of Texas. No matter where the plastic breaks
down, the tiny fragments absorb toxins which pollute our seas, lakes, and rivers, contaminate our soil,
and poison animals. But how about transporting the water bottles, and drilling for the materials in the
very beginning? The natural

Issues Surrounding Surrogacy
Surrogacy is defined as a practice that can be used when a woman who cannot have a child has
another woman become pregnant and deliver the child for her. 1The other woman is called a surrogate
mother. In order to do this an egg from the planned mother or a donor is fertilized with sperm from the
planned father or a donor. The embryo or embryos are then transported into the surrogate mother that
carries and delivers the baby.1
Couples and their surrogate mothers are misusing surrogacy. Many issues can arise that it s not even
worth the risk most of the time. Some of these issues, especially when the contract is violated, can
lead to lawsuits. Other issues, such as the health problems, can lead to long lasting detrimental
problems for the baby, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These other options will also work for women who are having problems having children. The first
option is fertility treatments. It would be a much easier process than surrogacy and the woman or man
would get injections or take pills to increase the woman s possibility of conceiving. This might be a
longer process, but if it works then the woman could carry her own baby like she wants to. The other
option is adoption. Adopting a baby could take a shorter or longer time and it depends on many
factors, but it would help a child who doesn t have a

Write An Alternate Ending To The Firekid
Old man firebird was proud of his little flame,
It brightened his day to just hear his name,
Not because of all the problems he overcame
Rather despite them his sunny deposition remained,

Little rough around the edges, yet casually messed,
He couldn t help but be subtly impressed,
Because he burnt savagely,
But it hadn t always been like this,
You see, there were times he tried to hide his light
Every firekid hits their moment of plight,
To compress the brightness that would always ignite,
They all needed a brighter flame to guide them in their flight,

Global Spirits Brands Localizing Advertising Essay
Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising
campaigns in emerging markets?
By localizing specific target markets, marketers are able to make more of an impact on several groups
of specific markets than they would have if they had simply stayed with a general advertisement for a
global brand. We have seen this in many major companies before. For example, Louis Vuitton would
record one commercial and then change the voice over or text to be in whichever language or dialect
they wanted it to be.
In this case, marketers are doing the opposite by allowing many different options in order to attract a
specific segment of consumers. I think market segmentation is critical for the success of Scotch from
country to country for the reason that people drink Scotch from country to country for different
reasons such as success. Since Scotch is widely associated with success and achievement, as well as
accelerating thirst for Scotch, understanding each culture is important.
The self satisfaction associated with achieving a goal may not be enough to persuade Chinese
consumers to purchase Scotch whisky. The Chinese market for Scotch Whiskey is highly segmented
because self satisfaction from achieving a goal is not enough; they need acknowledgement of
achievement from others. For advertising for the Chinese, the scotch would need to be represented in a
group in share of an occasion.
Not only this, but localizing their advertising

Leif Erikson s Discovery Of Vinland
After spending the winter in Vinland, Leif sailed back to Greenland, and never returned to North
American shores.Erikson was an Icelandic explorer and probably the first European visitor to North
America, 500 years before Christopher Columbus.Leif Erikson (also spelled Ericsson, or Eiriksson)
was the second of three sons of Erik the Red, who established a settlement in Greenland after he was
exiled from Iceland. Leif Erikson s story was recorded in several different sagas, but the accounts they
give are so different it is impossible to be certain of the details of his life.
He is thought to have visited Norway in around 1000 where he was converted to Christianity by Olaf
I, who sent him back to Greenland to convert the settlers there. In one story, on his voyage to
Greenland he sailed off course and arrived in a place he called Vinland , because of the abundant
grapes growing there, and the general fertility of the land. In another the Groenlandia saga he heard of
a land in the west from an Icelandic trader, and went to find it.The precise identity of Vinland remains
uncertain, with various locations on the North American coast identified. In 1963, archaeologists
found ruins of a Viking type settlement at L Anse aux Meadows, in northern Newfoundland, which
correspond to Leif s description of Vinland. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Grutter V. Bollinger Case Study
Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 306 (2003)
FACTS: A Michigan resident was denied admission to the University of Michigan Law school, even
though she had a 3.8 GPA and a score of 161 on the LSAT. Barbara Grutter sued the school alleging
that they had discriminated against her based on her race, which would be in violation of her
constitutional rights. The University of Michigan Law School argued that there is a state interest to not
have a critical mass of students of a given race; so that minorities do not feel isolated.
ISSUE: Can a public university or institution for higher learner tailor their admission of applicants by
race to balance diversity within their student body?
REASONING: Justice O Conner wrote the majority ruling for the Court. In her writing, she held that
the Constitution does not forbid the narrowly tailored use of race admission process that the law
school used; so that the school may obtain a diverse student body. The use of affirmative action was to
reverse years of historic race bias in the United States. The use of this tailored process was a flexible,
there was no quotas based on race but can use race as a plus factor in consideration for accepting an
applicant. This was to promote a diverse educational environment. Though she wrote that the race

RULE: Race based affirmative action as a plus factor in the admissions process of an applying student
to public universities and other public institutions of high education is constitutional. Given that the

environment.

The Impact Of Social Media On Society
The rapid growth and innovation of technology has had a lasting effect on the people of this
generation. Tasks are done faster; life is more efficient. But the same efficiency that has made our
quality of life better, has a hand in decreasing the quality of relationships around us. Sherry Turkle and
Zeynep Tufekci both believe social media has done well to our society, but disagree on whether or not
it is making human relationships grow apart. Social media is a double edged sword; it brings people
together that are physically apart by five hours, or even 30 minutes, but it also has negative effects on
the quality of the relationships we have with these people. There seems to be several obstacles that
want to get in the way of human relationships. Distance was the first people travelling away from their
homes to establish themselves in a new place. When at this new place, work came next. It effectively
kept a person away from their immediate family all day long. Now, it is arguable that social media is
what keeps us apart when we are finally together with family and friends. Distance and work keeps us
apart in a physical sense, whereas social media is more on an emotional level. On the flip side, social
media helps people to connect with family or make completely new friends that would have been
otherwise impossible. These new communities can enhance a person s network and satisfy their social
needs. The differing viewpoints have similarities, and can be

My initial conclusion is open free college for inmates is unnecessary because I do not recognize any

completely different what I image. The inmates want to go to school, and they even get AA s degree

The Function Of Gun Control
The function of guns in society is a very controversial topic that has long been debated. There are
those who believe that guns have no purpose in the hands of private citizens and civilians. Whereas,
others believe that guns are the very foundation that protects American s rights and liberties stated in
the Constitution. Under the second amendment that was ratified in the Supreme Court s ruling in
1791, Americans have the right to bear arms at the level of an individual, not just the well regulated
militia. For the vast majority of Americans, the central issue associated with gun control is the upshot
of crime, which rolls over onto public health. Americans are twenty times more likely to be killed by a
gun than any other developed nation on Earth. It is a sobering fact that today, there have been more
American deaths by guns than American deaths caused by wars dating by to the American Revolution.
Gun control advocates believe that having stricter gun control laws will make guns less accessible and
more difficult to gain possession of by people who should not have them such as criminals or the
mentally ill. They reason that this will cause a decrease in the number of deaths. Gun ownership
proponents argue that the creation of such laws would interfere with American citizens rights to bear
arms (for self protection against crimes and unjust government.) Following these laws would also
create other issues such as law abiding citizens being prey to criminals due to their

Chronic Effects Of Chronic Water Intake
Introduction
Water is crucial for life. Most biological processes require water to be present for it to occur. Without
water there is no medium for these processes to occur, therefore we must fully understand the
consequences of dehydration. Dehydration is a condition that is caused by excessive loss of body
water. It has been known that dehydration is associated with acute renal dysfunction, and it has been
considered reversible with no long term effects on the kidney. However, there has been an increasing
number of epidemiological studies suggesting that irregular water intake, leading to recurrent events
of dehydration, is a risk factor for developing and progressing the conditions of chronic kidney disease
(CKD). Due to the high prevalence in both the initial and final stages of CKD, it has become a global
health burden. Although there have been many studies linking recurrent dehydration with the
development and progression of CKD, only a handful of studies looked into the long term impacts of
chronic water restriction on the progression of CKD and the core mechanisms associated with it. Apart
from water regulation, the kidney also affects the cardiovascular system, with many studies
associating CKD with cardiovascular diseases (CVS). Therefore, it is important to understand the
causes of CKD to prevent the risk of developing CVS in CKD. In this review we will look at how
recurrent dehydration causes CKD. Firstly, the role of how the kidney regulates water balance is

Physical Effects Of Virtual Reality
VIRTUAL REALITY
When many people think of the term virtual reality , they imagine someone wired up to a computer,
wearing an odd helmet and making weird movements in the air. Well, this is partly true. However,
virtual reality is basically computer simulated reality.
VIRTUAL REALITY is a computer generated environment that is created by combining audio, visual
and tactile human/computer interfaces to simulate a real world environment. Virtual reality means that
the user is fully immersed in a world of artificial environment that the computer has generated.
One of the most common and simplest applications of virtual reality is your 3D movie. The 3D glasses
give the impression that some of the objects in the movie are actually within your reach. ... Show more

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM GENETIC ALGORITHMS?
Nearly everyone can gain benefits from Genetic Algorithms, once he can encode solutions of a given
problem to chromosomes in GA, and compare the relative performance (fitness) of solutions. An
effective GA representation and meaningful fitness evaluation are the keys of the success in GA
applications.
Gas are useful and efficient when the search space is large, complex or poorly understood, traditional
search methods fail, domain knowledge is scarce or expert knowledge is difficult to encode to narrow
the search space and no mathematical analysis is available. The advantage of the GA approach is the
ease with which it can handle arbitrary kinds of constraints and objectives; all such things can be
handled as weighted components of the fitness function, making it easy to adapt the GA scheduler to
the particular requirements of a very wide range of possible overall objectives.

A Pro Versus Con Argumentative Article Essay
In America we currently have tax placed on our gas. However, with new changes in the automotive
industry, there have been ideas of changing the tax to a tax based on miles travelled rather than gas.
Mr. Earl Blumenauer and Mr. Phil Byrd both expressed their strong views on the topic in a pro versus
con argumentative article. Blumenauer and Byrd both built up their credibility by using strong
sources, including facts and statistics, and appealing to the readers emotions; however towards the end
of the article both sides had a slight flaw which weakened their credibility.
When analyzing both viewpoints of the topic, the credibility of the sources and appeals to ethos in the
article are very important. The pro side of the article was written by Earl Blumenauer, a sponsor for
the Road Usage Fee Pilot Program Act. After looking further into his profession, he works as a
congressman for Oregon. Since he is only a sponsor for the program, there are unanswered questions
as to if he is knowledgeable enough on the subject of these types of taxes. After further reading you
learn that he actually used his job as a representative to introduce the Pilot Programming Act to
congress. The program is taking place in Oregon, where they are beginning projects in hope of
switching over to a tax on miles travelled rather than gas. Whereas, the con side was written by Phil
Byrd, the chairman for the American Trucking Association and the president of Bulldog Hiway

In most all schools across the United States, immunizations are required for children entering
elementary, middle school, high school and even entering some colleges. Immunizations are believed
to protect children and even adults from infectious diseases. These immunizations help people protect
themselves and even others from these infections spreading to cause an epidemic, even a pandemic at
the worst. Many people stand with immunizations and believe that everyone should get the ones
required before entering the education system. Immunizations are great to prevent yourself and others

The Human Factor in Ship Design
1. Introduction: The Human Factor in Ship Design It is essential to take into account the human factor
when designing complicated and large scale equipment such as ships. The importance of this is
demonstrated when the human factor is investigated in terms of marine disasters and casualties.
According to Bin Yaakob and Nee (2003, p. 1), the human element accounts for as much as 80% of all
marine catastrophes and casualties. This is why entities such as the International Maritime
Organization (IMO) and the Bureau Veritas (2008) have made it their mission to investigate and
address the human factor in ship design. There are two components to investigating and addressing
human factors in ship design. First, the challenges seafarers currently face in terms of their work
environment and the influence of this on their job performance need to be evaluated. Second, these
can be used to determine the design elements necessary to create an optimal environment to encourage
optimal job performance for seafaring personnel. Calhoun (2006, p. 2), for example, mentions air
quality and ventilation, temperature, noise, and vibration as specific enviornmental aspects that have
affected the quality of environment and work performance of seafaring personnel. Other factors
include the amount and quality of sleep that is possible for such personnel, as well as the quality of
lighting in their environment. A major important consideration is that these factors generally integrate

Especially considering the Civil Rights Movement was over 50 years ago. IT IS NO ACCIDENT that

present day, the change in race relation has changed, technically for no longer are acts of hatred as

The war lasted six months, three weeks and five days. However, Operation Desert Storm officially
ended on 30 November 1995. The war took place in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Israel. The initial
conflict was to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait. This conflict was between Iraq and a Coalition Force
of 34 nations, which was mandated by the United Nations and led by the United States. The forces
that made up the allied coalition force of thirty nine countries. Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia,

During this war in all areas, the weather varied, but slightly during the day and night. It was very hot
in these areas; high winds, low pressure, and winds at times as high as 25 knots but during the night as
low at 10 knots. Sand storms which limited the visibility as well as haze from the heat, which also

The Concept Of Intrinsic Motivation Theory
In addition to Maslow s self actualization and moreover, there is self determination theory (SDT),
which suggests that people are motivated to grow and change by innate psychological needs. The
theory identifies three key psychological needs that are believed to be both innate and universal: the
needs for competence, connectedness and autonomy. The concept of intrinsic motivation plays an
important role in self determination theory. Psychologists Edward Deci and Richard Ryan developed
SDT and determined motivation to be that which people tend to be driven by; a need to grow and gain
fulfillment. The first consideration of self determination theory is that people are actively directed
toward growth, mastering challenges, and taking on new experiences, which are essential for
developing a cohesive sense of self. Explained further by Deci and Ryan (2002), SDT begins by
embracing the assumption that all individuals have natural, innate, and constructive tendencies to
develop an ever more elaborated and unified sense of self. That is, we assume people have a primary
propensity to forge interconnections among aspects of their own psyches as well as with other
individuals and groups in their social worlds.
SDT embodies a wide ranging outline for human motivation and personality. SDT articulates a meta
theory for framing motivational studies, a formal theory that defines intrinsic and a variety of extrinsic
motivations. Furthermore, SDT also focuses on how social and

Analysis Of Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven
In a world where assimilation is the easiest way to survive, it can be difficult to maintain two
identities. The development of characters is the foundation in which people use to grow and become
successful in their path of life. Oppression, cultural changes, and pressure to conform to the
stereotypical image of success causes discontent among cultures. Many children have an ideal image
of who they want to be, and often their parents have a conflicting view on who they would like to see
their child become. In the story Two Kinds the Narrator has a rebellious attitude towards the
aspirations of her mother. The amount of pressure placed on her and her lack of success causes
sadness in the main character since she was not able to perform the way her mother wanted. Similarly,
the main character from The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven experiences a feeling of
inferiority from the racial discrimination and lack of financial success in his life. In the story Two
Kinds the Narrator does not want to become the prodigy her mother wishes her to be. The idea of
becoming a famous actor or musician, like Shirly Temple, was a noble idea from her mother since she
only wanted to see her daughter succeed. The pressure she placed on her daughter to follow her orders
and be obedient, however, was not in the likeness of the daughter s interests. This example is evident
when the author s mother states [There are] Only two kinds of daughters, she shouted in Chinese.
Those who are obedient and those who follow their mind! Only one kind of daughter can live in this
house. (Tan 242) The fight that occurs between the narrator and her mother causes a sudden shift in
tone, which indicates that the mother no longer held the same high Johnson 2 expectation from her
daughter. Throughout the story, the main character struggles with her identity. The narrator s family

Positive Impact On Electric Cars
My research question that I would like to further explore is what is holding back electric car sales?
Why have we not gone entirely electric, especially with all the benefits toward the environment? I
believe this question should be explored because whether it be electric cars or cars with an internal
combustion engine, cars are a vital form of transportation and in our everyday life. People use cars as
a form of transportation to get to work, to drive their kids to schools, to drive themselves to the
grocery store, to see loved ones and families. With all this driving, it is important to know the impact
it has on our environment. So far, internal combustion engines have shown negative harmful impacts
towards the environment in regards to carbon dioxide emissions. These carbon dioxide emissions have
shown a positive correlation with global warming which is an important ongoing issue today. It is
important to reduce our carbon footprint in order to preserve the planet for future generations.
Bringing more awareness as to why electric vehicles have a positive impact on our environment is
important because not many people are informed.
Through my research question, I hope to learn whether electric vehicles make a big enough difference
to help our environment. I also want to explore why we have not gone entirely electric and specific
reasons as to why people are afraid of change. People find switching to an electric vehicle to be a huge
lifestyle change. In Graham Rowe s

Free Speech Persuasive Speech
What is free speech? Does the term free speech cover offensive words? Painful ones? Words that
disrespect others? What about objectionable, or even wrong beliefs? When is speech illegal? What is
exactly meant by free speech? According to Rampell, the term free speech includes hate speech , and
is therefore protected by the first amendment (np). This means that even messages we don t like, agree
with, feel uncomfortable about, or even are disgusted by, are legal. Unfortunately, many college
students consider harmful words an assault, and some students believe that such verbal attacks can and
should be met with violence (French np). Students and speakers today are discriminated against in
classrooms and other scenes where free speech and debate should be especially cherished. In 2017
alone, there have been multiple riots born of originally peaceful protests. Students in Middlebury
College in Vermont revolted at a peaceful debate with far right Charles Murray. While Murray tried to
reach his building, a mob formed, forcing him and his debate partner, Allison Stanger, to move to
another building (Beinhart np). When Murray and Stanger tried to leave, they and the car they were in
were attacked by students. The leftist Stanger was sent to the emergency room because she tried to
protect the guest (Fatzick np). In Berkeley, California, students were up in arms, wanting to prevent
Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking. Their haste to silence a man they disagreed with led to a huge
disaster. In the streets, fellow classmates were attacked. One student who supported President Trump
was brutally beaten, and an innocent bystander who claimed to be Muslim was assaulted for looking
like a Nazi (Ramaiyer np). Others were beset upon as well, with pepper spray, matches, and baseball
bats. In total, only one person was arrested (French np). Unless this one person attacked this many
people and businesses, it s safe to assume that dozens of perpetrators have gone unpunished for the
crime of hurting a human being! This free speech is not protected under the First Amendment. People
are hurting other people. Another time Mr. Yiannopoulos attempted to give a speech, protesters rudely

Factors That Affect Overweight And Obesity
4) Genes
Genes play a major role in overweight and obesity. It does not necessarily have to be a single gene that
can cause overweight, but a multiple of them can play that role. Some people who get overweight
have inherited the problem from their parents. The improvement in quantitative genetics and genomics
has helped in understanding the relationship between genetics and overweight better. Conditions of
overweight and obesity usually occur within a certain family. Some families had a history of
overweight and obesity since a long time ago and the genes are passed from generation to generation

Relations Between Western And Middle Eastern Countries Essay
Relationships between Western and Middle Eastern countries have always be tainted by ugly truths
and misdeeds from both sides. The political relationship between the United States and Iran is not
exempt from that, and is one that has a history of tension. Much of this tension can be traced to the
1953 Coup d Etat in which Mohammad Mossadegh, Iran s first democratically elected prime minister,
was removed and an American support system for despotic leaders was established. This unfortunate
chapter in history has resulted in a culture of mistrust and betrayal deeply felt by the Iranian people,
and has led to reactions and overreactions from both sides, culminating in the animosity and mistrust
between the two countries that persists to this day.
Iranian Oil
During the first half of the 20th century, William Knox D Arcy, a British entrepreneur was able to
obtain a concession from the Iranian government that would allow for the searching and production of
petroleum. In return, the Iranian government was to receive a small percent of royalties. D Arcy

concession rights to a company that would eventually become the Anglo Persian Oil Company
(APOC, later becoming the Anglo Iranian Oil Company or AIOC). In 1908 oil was found and profits
were plentiful. The British government became a majority shareholder in the APOC after the British
transitioned their navy s fuel source from

Samuel R Delaney Babel 17
The Importance of Babel 17: The Role of Communication Author Samuel R. Delaney, in his novel
Babel 17, is able to suggest that a more critical and creative way of thinking is best developed by a
well rounded mind. It is from a mind that is able to become engaged in a non linear method of
thinking, that Delany infers, is one open to communication that allows for personal and cultural
integration. Moreover, Rydra Wong and the language of Babel 17 both throw communication on its
head as each uses the power of language in order to achieve differing results. Conversely, a holistic
method of thinking displays the potential that exists for being able to manipulate how others think. An
example of this is seen with Babel 17 and the Butcher. The end

John Bowlby Attachment Theory Analysis
John Bowlby s attachment theory (1991) argued that infants are motivated to engage in an organized
behavioral system that ensures preferred others, usually the primary caregivers, remain close, provide
support and function as a secure base . Bowlby, along with other theorists (e.g. Ainsworth, 1969, 1985,
1989, 1991; Main et al., 1985; Sroufe and Waters, 1977), argues that the ways in which adult
individuals form intimate bonds with other individuals are influenced by the patterns of relationships
with primary caregivers established in childhood. In attachment theory, it is a fundamental tenet that
the security or lack of it, experiences in the child parent relationship forms a template for the patterns
of interpersonal relationships the child

The recent development of water supply projects in the cities and townships has not met the increasing
demands of urban population and huge investment is necessary to improve water supply facilities in
the cities. 212.Water drainage Most urban centers are served by various forms of open drainage such
as ditches and street gutters. Only a small percentage has access to sewerage systems. The lack of
wastewater treatment in the cities constitutes a major health hazard during periods of storm and
flooding, when coliform and fecal pollutants from human wastes are easily spread through
contaminated floodwaters.Water logging problems in the main cities are due to the dilapidated
drainage systems and an aging culvert system, parts of which dated since the French administration.
The inadequacy of drainage systems causes flood in many areas in the cities and all the wastes flow
together with the rainy waters into canals and lakes. Maintenance of existing systems has not kept
pace with the increasing influx of population. 213 Water pollution. Water pollution is the most serious
environmental problem and with a growing urbanization, many cities are ill equipped to provide their

The launch phase will begin with the acquisition and manufacturing of a plethora of specialized incendiary bombs. These bombs will consist of a small explosive charge to break open the casing and ignite the contents: weed. Lots of weed. During the Lord s Supper, the Church shares in the bread and the cup in remembrance of Christ and proclaim[s] the Lord s death until He comes. Theologians have disagreed on what happens to the bread and wine and the role of the Supper. In this paper, I will outline the basis of the Doctrine of the Lord s Supper and briefly describe its biblical context. I will then explain how the doctrine was developed during the first centuries and the reformation. I will conclude by briefly describing the different views held by the Catholic, Reformed, and Protestant traditions. Outline of the Doctrine The Lord s Supper was ordained by Christ at the Last Supper. Stott writes that, whenever we share in the Lord s Supper, his sacrifice on the cross is remembered, partaken of, proclaimed, acknowledged as the ground of our unity, and responded to in grateful worship. The Lord s Supper is about the cross and remembering Christ s sacrifice through which salvation is made available. The Lord s Supper is considered the second act of commitment to Christ s body the Church, after baptism. But are they really all that healthy for the environment, or is there a fine line between a plastic bottled water drink and what s best for everyone? Let s take a look at bottled water from the very start to find out. To manufacture plastic bottles, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is used, and to produce PET, crude oil and natural gas is required. If one fills a plastic water bottle 1/4th full with oil, they will be looking at how much oil was used to make that one bottle, so how much oil does it take to make all of America s water bottles? In fact 22% of test water bottle brands had chemical contaminants higher than the state limit (ABC, 1). So why do Americans think bottled water is so great? Maybe it s because of how much companies advertise the product, advertising expenses for bottled water totaled $61 million in 2012 ( International Bottled Water Association 1). Whatever the reason may be, bottled water is the second most popular beverage in the U.S.A., and more and more bottles of water are being produced and distributed this very second. Impact on Environment: Only 20% of water bottles that are purchased make it to the recycle bin (Gunzelmann 1). So what happens to all the bottles that are not recycled? The bottles first photodegrade, meaning they slowly break down into smaller pieces, and then it is estimated to take between 500 to 1,000 years for the plastic to biodegrade. While the plastic is slowly breaking down, it either stays in a landfill, 38 billion plastic bottles end up in U.S. landfills each year ( Canned Water 4 Kids ); or it ends up in the ocean, According to Canned Water 4 Kids, there is a garbage patch floating in the Pacific Ocean that is estimated to be twice the size of Texas. • 12. Global Spirits Brands Localizing Advertising Essay Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising campaigns in emerging markets? By localizing specific target markets, marketers are able to make more of an impact on several groups of specific markets than they would have if they had simply stayed with a general advertisement for a global brand. We have seen this in many major companies before. For example, Louis Vuitton would record one commercial and then change the voice over or text to be in whichever language or dialect they wanted it to be. In this case, marketers are doing the opposite by allowing many different options in order to attract a specific segment of consumers. I think market segmentation is critical for the success of Scotch from country to country for the reason that people drink Scotch from country to country for different reasons such as success. Since Scotch is widely associated with success and achievement, as well as accelerating thirst for Scotch, understanding each culture is important. The self satisfaction associated with achieving a goal may not be enough to persuade Chinese consumers to purchase Scotch whisky. The Chinese market for Scotch Whiskey is highly segmented because self satisfaction from achieving a goal is not enough; they need acknowledgement of achievement from others. For advertising for the Chinese, the scotch would need to be represented in a group in share of an occasion. Not only this, but localizing their advertising ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ISSUE: Can a public university or institution for higher learner tailor their admission of applicants by race to balance diversity within their student body? REASONING: Justice O Conner wrote the majority ruling for the Court. In her writing, she held that the Constitution does not forbid the narrowly tailored use of race admission process that the law school used; so that the school may obtain a diverse student body. But the same efficiency that has made our quality of life better, has a hand in decreasing the quality of relationships around us. Sherry Turkle and Zeynep Tufekci both believe social media has done well to our society, but disagree on whether or not it is making human relationships grow apart. Social media is a double edged sword; it brings people together that are physically apart by five hours, or even 30 minutes, but it also has negative effects on the quality of the relationships we have with these people. There seems to be several obstacles that want to get in the way of human relationships. Distance was the first people travelling away from their homes to establish themselves in a new place. When at this new place, work came next. It effectively kept a person away from their immediate family all day long. Now, it is arguable that social media is what keeps us apart when we are finally together with family and friends. Distance and work keeps us apart in a physical sense, whereas social media is more on an emotional level. On the flip side, social media helps people to connect with family or make completely new friends that would have been otherwise impossible. • 22. The Function Of Gun Control The function of guns in society is a very controversial topic that has long been debated. There are those who believe that guns have no purpose in the hands of private citizens and civilians. Whereas, others believe that guns are the very foundation that protects American s rights and liberties stated in the Constitution. Under the second amendment that was ratified in the Supreme Court s ruling in 1791, Americans have the right to bear arms at the level of an individual, not just the well regulated militia. For the vast majority of Americans, the central issue associated with gun control is the upshot of crime, which rolls over onto public health. Americans are twenty times more likely to be killed by a gun than any other developed nation on Earth. It is a sobering fact that today, there have been more American deaths by guns than American deaths caused by wars dating by to the American Revolution. Gun control advocates believe that having stricter gun control laws will make guns less accessible and more difficult to gain possession of by people who should not have them such as criminals or the mentally ill. They reason that this will cause a decrease in the number of deaths. However, there has been an increasing number of epidemiological studies suggesting that irregular water intake, leading to recurrent events of dehydration, is a risk factor for developing and progressing the conditions of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Due to the high prevalence in both the initial and final stages of CKD, it has become a global health burden. Although there have been many studies linking recurrent dehydration with the development and progression of CKD, only a handful of studies looked into the long term impacts of chronic water restriction on the progression of CKD and the core mechanisms associated with it. Apart from water regulation, the kidney also affects the cardiovascular system, with many studies associating CKD with cardiovascular diseases (CVS). Therefore, it is important to understand the causes of CKD to prevent the risk of developing CVS in CKD. In this review we will look at how recurrent dehydration causes CKD. Firstly, the role of how the kidney regulates water balance is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, this is partly true. However, virtual reality is basically computer simulated reality. VIRTUAL REALITY is a computer generated environment that is created by combining audio, visual and tactile human/computer interfaces to simulate a real world environment. Virtual reality means that the user is fully immersed in a world of artificial environment that the computer has generated. However, with new changes in the automotive industry, there have been ideas of changing the tax to a tax based on miles travelled rather than gas. Mr. Earl Blumenauer and Mr. Phil Byrd both expressed their strong views on the topic in a pro versus con argumentative article. Blumenauer and Byrd both built up their credibility by using strong sources, including facts and statistics, and appealing to the readers emotions; however towards the end of the article both sides had a slight flaw which weakened their credibility. When analyzing both viewpoints of the topic, the credibility of the sources and appeals to ethos in the article are very important. The pro side of the article was written by Earl Blumenauer, a sponsor for the Road Usage Fee Pilot Program Act. After looking further into his profession, he works as a congressman for Oregon. Since he is only a sponsor for the program, there are unanswered questions as to if he is knowledgeable enough on the subject of these types of taxes. After further reading you learn that he actually used his job as a representative to introduce the Pilot Programming Act to congress. The program is taking place in Oregon, where they are beginning projects in hope of switching over to a tax on miles travelled rather than gas. • 27. The Human Factor in Ship Design 1. Introduction: The Human Factor in Ship Design It is essential to take into account the human factor when designing complicated and large scale equipment such as ships. The importance of this is demonstrated when the human factor is investigated in terms of marine disasters and casualties. According to Bin Yaakob and Nee (2003, p. 1), the human element accounts for as much as 80% of all marine catastrophes and casualties. This is why entities such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the Bureau Veritas (2008) have made it their mission to investigate and address the human factor in ship design. There are two components to investigating and addressing human factors in ship design. First, the challenges seafarers currently face in terms of their work environment and the influence of this on their job performance need to be evaluated. Second, these can be used to determine the design elements necessary to create an optimal environment to encourage optimal job performance for seafaring personnel. Calhoun (2006, p. 2), for example, mentions air quality and ventilation, temperature, noise, and vibration as specific enviornmental aspects that have affected the quality of environment and work performance of seafaring personnel. Other factors include the amount and quality of sleep that is possible for such personnel, as well as the quality of lighting in their environment. • 31. The Concept Of Intrinsic Motivation Theory In addition to Maslow s self actualization and moreover, there is self determination theory (SDT), which suggests that people are motivated to grow and change by innate psychological needs. The theory identifies three key psychological needs that are believed to be both innate and universal: the needs for competence, connectedness and autonomy. The concept of intrinsic motivation plays an important role in self determination theory. Psychologists Edward Deci and Richard Ryan developed SDT and determined motivation to be that which people tend to be driven by; a need to grow and gain fulfillment. The first consideration of self determination theory is that people are actively directed toward growth, mastering challenges, and taking on new experiences, which are essential for developing a cohesive sense of self. Explained further by Deci and Ryan (2002), SDT begins by embracing the assumption that all individuals have natural, innate, and constructive tendencies to develop an ever more elaborated and unified sense of self. That is, we assume people have a primary propensity to forge interconnections among aspects of their own psyches as well as with other individuals and groups in their social worlds. SDT embodies a wide ranging outline for human motivation and personality. SDT articulates a meta theory for framing motivational studies, a formal theory that defines intrinsic and a variety of extrinsic motivations. Furthermore, SDT also focuses on how social and ... People use cars as a form of transportation to get to work, to drive their kids to schools, to drive themselves to the grocery store, to see loved ones and families. What about objectionable, or even wrong beliefs? When is speech illegal? What is exactly meant by free speech? According to Rampell, the term free speech includes hate speech , and is therefore protected by the first amendment (np). This means that even messages we don t like, agree with, feel uncomfortable about, or even are disgusted by, are legal. Unfortunately, many college students consider harmful words an assault, and some students believe that such verbal attacks can and should be met with violence (French np). Students and speakers today are discriminated against in classrooms and other scenes where free speech and debate should be especially cherished. In 2017 alone, there have been multiple riots born of originally peaceful protests. Students in Middlebury College in Vermont revolted at a peaceful debate with far right Charles Murray. While Murray tried to reach his building, a mob formed, forcing him and his debate partner, Allison Stanger, to move to another building (Beinhart np). When Murray and Stanger tried to leave, they and the car they were in were attacked by students. The leftist Stanger was sent to the emergency room because she tried to protect the guest (Fatzick np). In Berkeley, California, students were up in arms, wanting to prevent Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking. Their haste to silence a man they disagreed with led to a huge disaster. In the streets, fellow classmates were attacked. One student who supported President Trump was brutally beaten, and an innocent bystander who claimed to be Muslim was assaulted for looking like a Nazi (Ramaiyer np). Others were beset upon as well, with pepper spray, matches, and baseball bats. In total, only one person was arrested (French np). The improvement in quantitative genetics and genomics has helped in understanding the relationship between genetics and overweight better. Conditions of overweight and obesity usually occur within a certain family.
