Killing Reagan By Bill O Reilly And Martin Dugard
Killing Reagan was wrote by Bill O Reilly and Martin Dugard as a part of their series to talk about the deaths, assassination, and
near deaths of certain historical people. O Reilly and Dugard write about the events leading up to the attempted assassination of
Ronald Reagan including discussing the attempted assassin, John Hinckley, and the events after up until his death. The authors
present the viewpoint as if one were there to witness the lives of the people in the book. Killing Reagan talks about the politics
during Reagan s life and presidency to tell about who Ronald Reagan was and his ideas that influenced a presidency. Some things a
reader may want to know before starting this book is a basic idea of the events and politics of the twentieth century, especially those
after WWII. Overall, it is easy for just about anyone to understand.
Killing Reagan starts the prologue with the sentence The man who has one minute to live is no longer confused (O Reilly and
Dugard 1) as he discusses who is in the room with him, including his two kids, Ron and Patti, and his wife, Nancy Reagan. The
authors also talk about what caused his death, dementia that started ten years ago that caused him to not make a public appearance
in that time period. The authors go into the first chapter discussing the winning debate that probably gave him the presidency that
happened a week before the election. The authors then talk about how former President Carter won past debates against Gerald R.

ully aware of what was already at stake for the Ryanite efforts in the Dweller world, DHvKA and Dritte Zug decided to make their
move on the 23rd of September, together with a detachment from the Nightingales of Action Andy. Their first area of operation was
a closely aligned trinity of Dweller cities built around each other, located somewhere in Southern California. Goldfield North,
Goldfield Center and Goldfield South were their names, but because of their short proximity to each other, they were referred to
among Caravaneers as the Goldfield Tri Cities . In essence, they were one of the more sprawling Dweller cities that each had a
population of four thousand people. Combined, their total population was twelve thousand, most of them being Dwellers of the 1st,

Benefits Of The Uk Retaining An Unwritten Constitution
Constitution is a body of fundamental principles that sets out a framework of precedent which regulates the functions, powers and
duties amongst the organs of the government. It provides authority to how such organs as the executive, legislative and judiciary
must operate under a constitution law. The fundamental purpose of a constitution is being able to establish the roles and powers of
different branches of a state alongside the perspectives and rights of its citizens. The United Kingdom is considered to have a
constitution however, unlike the substantial countries like the United States of America and Australia, who currently have a sole
codified document. In comparison, to the UK, Israel and New Zealand who are amongst the only three countries in the world that
have a distinctive constitution which does not have a single codified constitution. This essay will be exploring and evaluating the
advantages of the UK retaining an unwritten constitution, in comparison to the potentials of the UK drafting a written constitution
and its capability of being flexible, alongside referencing made to John Alder and further academics.
A significant feature of the British constitution, is arguably said to be flexible to a certain extend, in contrast to a rigid constitution
such as the USA. Albert Venn Dicey defined a flexible constitution as one under which every law of description can legally be
changed with the same ease and in the same manner by one and the same body.

In our company we are employing mainly general operatives but also some more specialised cleaning staff beside administration
and management employees. One of the most important advantage of employing in house staff it is their level of investment into
our organisation. By working directly for our company personnel develops a strong sense of loyalty and belonging within the
organisation overtime. Employees are feeling proud of the work they perform on an everyday basis, they take ownership of their
responsibilities, and they then carry out. They can go that extra mile and push themselves more as they feel involved and a part of
the team.
By hiring outsource staff, we cannot expect the same level of involvement and integration. Personnel employed by an agency does
not feel so strongly about being a part of the team. They are coming to work more on the temporary basis, hardly ever staying in

What was so compelling about the Christian God that helped the Israelites hold onto their beliefs after being exiled? This question
came to me as I read Hanneken. He states, They could have given up and assimilated to the culture... Instead, they developed the
idea that their God had not been defeated, but planned the exile for their own long term good, and remained with them. This was a
clear departure in thought at the time and begs the question why? Understanding why the Israelites held onto God during their exile
will help many see that this God is unique. I think that many topics of this course can shed light on the exceptional nature of God
and help explain the continuing power of this deity as opposed to others.

Another feature of the Canaanite way of life was described as sacred prostitution. In the act of temple prostitution the man
identified himself with Baal, the woman with Ashtart. It was believed that human pairs, by imitating the action of Baal and his
partner, could bring the divine pair together in a fertilizing union. It is noted that a man named Hosea foresaw the exile. Research
shows that Hosea had warned the Northern Kingdom of Israel of impending disaster if the northerners continued to play the harlot

The Effects of Slavery on the Black Family Essay
Slavery is a period of time where people were bought, sold, and treated as property for many years. Slaves were given no rights
once so ever from the time they were captured, purchased, or born. Slavery existed in many countries such as contemporary Africa,
Mali, Haiti, Niger, Sudan, and Mauritania. Although slavery was equally devastating in many different countries one form of
slavery that stands out the most for American history is slavery in the New World. Slaves were shipped from various locations in
Africa and also different islands of the West Indies. Contrary to belief, there was a method in Africa specifically Goree Island,
where wealthy Africans would sell out other Africans from their country into slavery. These merchants ... Show more content on

Slaves were not usually treated with respect in the households they worked in, most of the time, slaves were treated horribly. They
would be raped, beaten, teased, whipped, and were victims of many cruel and unusual punishments that are unimaginable to the
human race present day. Family was the most important thing to the African culture. Brothers tried their hardest to look over their
younger sisters as best as possible. Old women and men with no family members to turn to, looked to the comfort of nieces,
nephews, and cousins when they fell ill, and aunts and uncles played a primary part in the family as well. Men were not the only
ones that were forced to take part in daily labor and routines but also women and children. Some slaves were assigned outside work
in which they would tend the crops and more commonly known work the plantations on their masters estate. Women were more
commonly assigned to kitchen work such as cleaning the houses, washing clothes, cooking meals, working as servants, and tending
to the masters each and every need. Most women who worked in the houses were brutally raped by their masters whether or not
they were married to a man or not. Although most women worked in a home setting, there were some women who did work outside
with the men and children. Work was difficult on the slaves and their masters were not empathetic towards them in

A New Phenomenon And Donald Trump
The recent rise in awareness has brought the concept of income inequality to the forefront of American s minds; however, this is
certainly not a new phenomenon. The United States has struggled with income inequality since its birth 241 years ago; the much
bigger issue today stands within the mentality of greed that has developed in recent time. While income inequality has existed since
the nation s birth, the looming threat to societies wellbeing is the emergence of a mentality of greed that has grown unbridledly in
recent decades. America s capitalist economic system has made the institution of income inequality as American as baseball,
cheeseburgers, and pick up trucks. Arguably since the 1980 s and 90 s, an ornery wee gremlin dubbed ... Show more content on

Donald Trump also sees obstacles as mole hills rather than mountains but in an albeit less shrewd way than Hearst. When told that
Mexico was not willing to pay for his southern border wall, his response was the wall just got 10 feet higher! (source). (Insert quote

Diversity In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Cody Ebner
Ms. Dudley
World Lit to 1650 ENGL2337 41
December 8, 2016
Current day Characters
Chaucer wrote about many people, who he might not have known at all. Chaucer s ideas for his characters could have stemmed
from people he saw when he worked as the controller of customs or some of his other jobs when he traveled around medieval
Europe. Chaucer s diversity in his story is what made The Canterbury Tales so good in my opinion as it seemed to have different
perspectives of different people even though Chaucer wrote the whole thing. His characters showed such a diversity that made it
sound like these people actually wrote it themselves or told Chaucer what to write. If Chaucer was alive today he could write about
anyone as if he knew about them from the moment he saw them.

The military is about courage, honor, and if it comes to it self sacrifice. A knight needed those attributes as well. General George S.
Patton is like the knight he was someone of another class like the knight as being a knight was a class in itself and being a member
of the military is like being in another class as you are not a civilian anymore. General Patton said something a knight might say as
Patton said this in his famous quote Grant to our armed forces that disciplined valor and mutual confidence which insures success in
war. Let me not morn for the men who have died fighting, but rather let me be glad that such heros have lived. If it be my lot to die,
let me do so with courage and honor . (Dunn) General Patton and Chaucer s Knight have common footing as both care about
courage, honor, and valor. The similarities between the Knight and General Patton is what makes it easier for Chaucer to write
about him as General Patton could be considered a modern day knight. Chaucer even had some similarities to even Patton himself
as both served in a major

Compare and Contrast Two Methods for Achieving Attitude...
Attitudes refer to one s evaluations of the social world: others, objects and ideas. These overall evaluations can be positive,
negative, or neutral, vary in their extremity and be based on a variety of information (Tesser and Martin, 1996; Petty, Wheeler, and
Tormala, 2003 ). A popular conceptualization of the attitude construct, the tripartite theory, holds that there are three primary types
of information in which attitudes can be based (Breckler, 1984; Rosenberg Hovland, 1960; Zanna Rempel, 1988) : cognitions or
beliefs, affect or feelings and actions or behaviour. As defined by Richard Perloff, persuasion is the process which moulds and

While a limitation of the ingratiation technique is that flattery and the degree of flattery will more than likely have varying affects
depending on the individual .
McGuire and Papageogis proposed forewarning targets of the persuasive intent of a message might produce inhibition of persuasion
through counter arguments (1962p127AAC). Hass and Gracly, found that this is only particularly effective if there is a time delay
between warning and message which allows for cognitive processes to actively generate a counter argument (1975). Thus, if the
target were perhaps familiar with the door in the face technique or simply inferred a second request may be likely, and there was a
delay between the unrealistic and realist request, the persuasion attempt is likely to be inhibited.
Additionally this cognitive processing may inhibit the ingratiation technique if the targets need for cognition (NFC) is high. Studies
have shown that participants high in NFC were generally unaffected by the persuaders likeability. This is argued to be a
consequence of their engagement with more extensive

Many people might ask why did Christians and people that believed so highly in God and Jesus go through so many sacrifices and

Film Analysis Of The Awakenings
There are always losses to each pleasant situation and unfortunately in the 1990 film directed by Penny Marshall, Awakenings, this
theme appears throughout. In a chronically ill hospital where Dr. Malcolm Sayer is recruited with little to no experience with
people, he works with multiple patients that are in a sleep like state including Mr. Leonard Lowe. Set in the late sixties, there were
not many medical advances that already existed to help these patients but Dr. Sayer makes unheard of discoveries. Many
awakenings occur in this film, but with these renewals comes gains and losses. Dr. Sayer, the staff, and the patients inhabited in this
Brooklyn hospital gain and lose different things with their explorations.
Dr. Malcolm Sayer begins as a man full of nervousness and a lack of people skills but eventually goes through stages that lead to an
awakening. Sayer is a nice man, though he likes to keep to himself because he knows no different. He has never been in an hospital
for humans as his last exploration was on earthworms. The first few days at the hospital are filled with patients whom he knows
nothing about being thrown at him which makes the doctor very nervous and detached from his safe lifestyle. One patient in
particular interests Sayer named Leonard. Going through tests and medicine with Leonard Lowe, Malcolm s eyes begin to open.
After watching Leonard go through various phases, Sayer seems to feel more confident. Dr. Sayer knows that what he has done is

1. What is The Sims 4: Ghosts ?
Ghosts was one of the major 2014 updates to Sims 4. As you know, ghosts have been haunting the Sims for a while now, tapping
their spooky fingers on your shoulder when you re in the toilet, haunting your garden, lurking around corridors. In Sims 4, they
could only be non playable characters originally. When your Sim died, a non playing character (NPC) ghost attached to a
gravestone near your Sims house and hangs out doing a bit of haunting.
2. What s different about ghosts in Sims 4?

Ghosts have some spooky abilities
The skills and abilities that ghosts have is mostly determined by how they died, and how they re feeling. Some of the extra fun
properties of ghosts (as well as a few things they can t do) are listed below:
Ghosts have little graphics changes that reflect how they died e.g. if your ghost died of hunger, there will be a small wispy cloud
floating near its stomach. If it died by Cowplant, it will be able to help plants grow, or kill them if it s in a bad mood!
Ghost s body colour matches their emotions. If a ghost is angry, it goes red. If it s dark blue, it sad. A ghost who is feeling fine will
be white, and a flirty ghost is a lovely shade of pink.
Ghosts can walk through the walls when they feel like it. If they don t feel like it, they won t!
Ghosts can possess objects, making them move around or break. Luckily the ghost can also repair them!
Ghosts can t die, and they can t have children (as far as we know! happy to be proved wrong on this one.)
You re going to kill me?! Don t make me laugh...uggh..aggh ...aaaaahhhh!
4. How do you get to be a ghost?
It s pretty obvious, but to get a ghost you have to kill a Sim. There are quite a few ways of dying, including laughter, mortification,
overexertion, hunger, old age, Cowplant, anger, fire or electrocution. More about death

Dionysus Greek Pottery
Pottery was a huge part of the ancient Greeks lives. The pots were very highly decorated usually with scenes depicting Greek gods
as a way of worship to them. This paper will explore two examples of Greek pottery and explain their uses and what is seen on
them and why. The first vessel is a red figure bell krater, from around 380 BC, attributed to artist known as the Erbach painter.
Typically red figure style deals with scenes of everyday life rather than myth, this pot differs from this as it does contain myth but
rather than depicting the action from a mythological tale, it portrays a general scene of the Greek god, of wine drama and fertility,
Dionysus. In this scene Dionysus is seen as a young man lounging on a blanket holding a thyros ... Show more content on

440 BC. Like the other, it is a red figure bell krater featuring Dionysus. In this depiction of Dionysus he is again seen holding a
thyros but unlike the previous vessel instead of the presence of vines we see him holding a wine cup (kylix), which is a very
common attribute of the god. To the right we see a satyr playing the flute. The satyr could be one of the Titiyroi classes of satyr as
he shares many of the main characteristics of them, such as the flute and his tail. To the left of Dionysus stands a woman holding a
wine jug (oinchoe). It is hard to tell who this woman is, as there are many possibilities. She could be a maenad for the reason that
maenads show up in a lot of artwork with Dionysus. However this would not be a normal showing of a maenad. Maenads are
usually seen holding a thyros, wearing a wreath of ivy, holding a musical instrument or wearing some kind of animal print. This
woman could be Ariadne, the wife of Dionysus. In Greek artwork, Ariadne is often seen with Dionysus. Both pots share a similar
artistic style and depict Dionysus in a very comparable way. The slight differences that you do see between them could be because
of the time difference between each work. Nevertheless both vessels depict Dionysus in the usual way. Both pots lack a mythical
story behind it and seem to be a general scene. While the first pot looks like a worship to Dionysus, the second pot looks like a
general depiction of Dionysus and the people/creatures

Components of a Quest Novel in True Grit by Charles Portis
What kind of components are in a quest novel? There is a quest hero, the wise old man, a helper or guide, a call, and many more.
Charles Portis applies these components to many of his characters in his novel True Grit. There is stubborn, fourteen year old
Mattie Ross, the quest hero, Marshal Rooster Cogburn, the wise old man, and a conceited Texas ranger named LaBoeuf, the
helper/guide. Throughout this novel, they prove that they are the characters of a quest novel in many ways.
A quest hero is someone who has the courage to try, and stay determined. Another aspect of a quest hero is that they have a call, an
impulse, or a summon, that sends them on a journey. Mattie Ross represents the quest hero in this novel. For example, as Mattie
realizes nothing is being done about Tom Chaney on the loose, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She states Nobody
here knew my father and I am afraid nothing much is going to be done about it except I do it myself (65). The fact that no one is
chasing her father s murderer, is her call. If there are ten marshals out looking for Chaney, Mattie would have been satisfied, and
gone home without embarking on this journey. Since he is still on the loose, she wants to go and find him herself, proving that this
is her call. Another way Mattie shows she is the quest hero is she is determined. For instance, even though she is told that she is not
to go on the expedition, she stays steadfast. Mattie says I aim to get Tom Chaney and if

INTRODUCTION: April 8, 2012 was the Sunday that Easter was celebrated that year. This date will also be forever remembered as
the day that Lieutenant Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney lost their lives at the Thomas Buck Hosiery Factory fire in
Philadelphia, PA. Since William Penn first founded the city of Philadelphia in 1682, it has been an evolving and growing city, from
a 17th century colonial city to the capital of the United States during the American Revolution. The industrial revolution of the 19th
century transformed the green fields of lower Kensington, a section of Philadelphia, to a mixture of homes and mills by 1875. ...

At 03:17 am, Engine 2 arrives on location and reports that he has heavy fire showing from the first and second floors, and requests
a full first alarm assignment. One minute later he reported that he had fire all the way to the roof in a 6 story building, 60 x one city

collapsed from the upper story on the York Street side and crashed on to the street. By 4:01 am, this fire would grow to a five alarm

Paul s Flattery Essay
As an orator or public speaker the level of professionalism you exuberant is vital, otherwise, you stand to face criticism, mainly by
highly esteemed philosophers and city leaders.
Anyone who was not forthcoming with their intentions and used flattery was perceived to be looking to secure money from the
hearers. Feeling strongly towards orators and their deceit, Plato criticized them as a sort of merchant or dealer in provisions on
which the soul is nourished. Plato also refused to give the name of art to anything that is irrational and said, if you dispute my
views, I am ready to give my reasons. 2 The opinions and views set a tough stage for Paul to enter a city and begin to proclaim the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Their opinions are not the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flattery came with false motives to cover up any greed. Instead, Paul came with authentic material and because of this there was no
conviction of unoriginality1. There was no need to be disingenuous because his professionalism was directed by the Holy Spirit. If
Paul used flattery it would ruin his perception and the abilities of God. Furthermore, flattery seems neither reputable nor honorable
even when practiced gaining distinction.3 Paul came with encouragement while greeting the Thessalonians and Corinthians. Paul
told the Thessalonian church he was not there for financial gain or in vain. There was no attempt being made to deceive, or flatter (1
Th 2:1 5).4 Orators came promising to benefit their hearers culturally with public declarations, benefactions, and advice.1 When
Paul returns to Thessalonica he continues to address them with thanksgiving and not seeking glory for himself or out of his work,

Animal Rights Argumentative Analysis
What makes hunting and trapping for sport is that people that do hunt or trap are seeing these animals as renewable resources. They
can reproduce without the help of humans; however, that does not give humans the right to use them as a natural resource. It is a
failure to not treat them with respect. One of the main concerns for defending hunting is that it is not different than what wildlife
does to each other. The rights view sees that animals not moral agents, and have different morals than what humans have. Then only
have to kill what they need to. The still cause harm, but do no moral harm in the logic of the rights view.

Leaver culture considers nature in how it improves with the world around it. Ismael uses the story of Cain and Able to explain the
difference. For anyone that has grown up learning about Christian beliefs, the story of Cain and Able is taught as a way that if you
go against God then you get punished. The way Ishmael explains it, is more about a difference of cultures. Able represents the
Leaver culture, while Cain is a part of the Taker culture. If humans look at the story from the Taker perspective, they see how it is a
perspective in the bible. The story makes more sense if it looked from a Leavers perspective. However, Leaver culture is not fully
gone; but Taker culture has taken a majority of control.
Regan main claim is that humans are no capably of fully knowing when the animals suffer, but that does not deny them the rights
they need. Regan is searching for the answer in how to communicate with animals. Ishmael knows that our lost connection with
nature is due to human s own fault. Humans separated ourselves so far that humans cannot reach that communication point with
nature. However, if humans were to be like Leaver culture, then humans would be able to work with nature. At that point humans
could gain the communication back to

interaction models, define a trade area based on its attractiveness relative to other trade areas. These models provide an
approximation of store trade area by putting the distribution of all locations (including competitors) into a geographical context and
evaluating each location s relative attractiveness. Typically, a distance decay curve is used to model the spatial interaction of
individual locations. Often size of the store, or store sales if available, is used to drive the attractiveness parameter. Gravity models

How Has Society Changed In Puritan Times
Almost everything about society has changed since the time of the Puritans, and many of the changes have happened within the last
hundred years. Many of society s rules were constructed during the Puritan times to properly establish a governing body and it is
important to examine how these concepts of society have changed and the importance of establishing them in the first place.
Looking through the lenses of three different perspectives, over 300 years, it is easy to tell which of society s rules have changed
the most. To do this, we must look at society through the eyes of a Puritan, my grandmother and myself. Born in the 1940s and

Species Origination and Geographical Distribution The bonobo is the most recently discovered great ape in modern times. It was
revealed in 1929 by German anatomist Ernest Schwarz that a skull once thought belonging to a juvenile chimpanzee was in fact a
new subspecies of chimpanzee known now as the Pan paniscus, or bonobo. (Waal 6) During the Pleistocene epoch approximately
1.5 million years ago, the Congo River was formed in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. (San Diego Zoo 2) The

Bonobo s are classified within the Genus Pan, Species paniscus. Pan paniscus is commonly referred to as the pygmy/lesser/dwarf
chimpanzee, and gracile ape. The name bonobo is said to be meaningless, taken from a misspelling on a shipping crate headed to
the town of Bolobo in the Democratic Republic of Congo. (Primate Info Net) On an interesting note, some taxonomists suggest
putting both chimpanzees and bonobo s in the same Genus as humans, Homo, due to genetic similarities in the species because both
are humans closest genetic relatives. (San Diego Zoo 2) (Wildman Et. Al. 2003)
Physical Characteristics Bonobo s display a varied degree of sexual dimorphism, which is a characteristic specific to either male or
female sex. When comparing the two sexes, males are more muscular and hold an average weight of 95 pounds compared to an
average of 82 pounds and a slighter built female, a 15 percent weight difference between them. Sexual dimorphism is also apparent
in that males possess a unique dental trait, long canines, a feature that females lack. Both sexes are similar in that neither has a
height advantage, averaging 2.3 to 3 feet in height. (Waal 24) Bonobo s possess long, fine black hair covering most of the body and
black colored hands and feet. Their black faces feature wide, thick walled nostrils and long black facial hair that often covers their

10 Things I Hate About You Literary Analysis
To make a present day rendition of a sixteenth century play, one would need to have an impeccable blend of similitudes and
contrasts between the two, joining components of both worlds. The makers of 10 Things I Hate About You made a decent showing
with this, utilizing a hefty portion of the characters and a significant part of the plot from Taming of the Shrew and parts of

Eye Anatomy Posters Explaining Our Body s Cameras
By Stephen Lamb
Oct 4, 2009
The human eye is nature s version of a camera, yet so much more complex than a camera that all its functions require years of study
to understand. For example, within the layers of the retina immediately behind the lens, light impulses are converted into electrical
signals which proceed through the optic nerve to the occipital cortex at the back of the brain, where they are translated .
Healthy eyes see in 20/20 vision. That is, standing 20 feet away from an eye chart a series of symbols, or images, printed on a page
people with 20/20 vision can see everything a normal eye can see, normal being based on the average visual acuity of a majority of
the population. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Defects in the shape of the lens, or inadequate filling of the vitreous humor, can result in inadequate vision. Age and disease also
play their part in reducing human vision. Thus, perfect vision at birth may require correction as early as grade school, and will
almost certainly require correction by the age of retirement.
Ophthalmologists, or eye doctors, can help patients understand the need for corrective lenses or surgery by using an Eye Anatomy
Poster, whose central figure is a cut away view of the right eye which depicts everything from the rods and cones (specialized
structures in the eye the retina uses to process light) to more esoteric items like the canal of Schlemm or scleral venous sinus, a
circular channel that collects fluid from the anterior chamber and sends it to the bloodstream.
With its diagram of the visible light spectrum, and a dissection of the structures of the eyeball, this detailed chart makes it easier to
see how the sight of a flower, for example, passes through the retina to the optic nerve and is interpreted by the brain for our
enjoyment, edification and

The Black Power Movement During The 1950 S
The Black Power Movement took place during the 1950 s into the early 60 s. The point of the movement was to achieve civil rights
for African Americans. Martin Luther King was a major influence during the early stages of the movement. Many people turned to
the Black Panthers, founded by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale, because they felt that nonviolence was not the answer to
achieving civil rights. The Black Power Movement unsuccessfully tried to change the economic and social inequalities of blacks,
because today many blacks are still treated socially and economically inferior to whites. One reason the Black Power Movement
was unsuccessful is the economic insecurities of blacks in today s society. A major reason for the high rate of poverty of blacks is
what is known as the double burden of poverty. This double burden of poverty is when a person is poor, but also surrounded by a
neighborhood that is just as poor. One cannot expect to get help, or have a better life, when one is surrounded by those who are in
the same situation as them. Chicago is a perfect example of a city whose poverty rate is extremely high. Statistics show in the, five
year American Community Survey data from 2009 2013, more than a third of all poor African Americans in metropolitan Chicago
live in high poverty census tracts (Badger). The survey reveals that the poverty rate in Chicago during this time span was over 40%
and was ten times higher than poor whites. Many communities today are still

Relationships Among Bim, Ipd, And Lean Construction
Relationships among BIM, IPD, and Lean Construction
In general, IPD, Lean, or BIM is a particularly new controversial phenomenon in the construction industry that generates many
debates and discussions around each component s advantages and disadvantages, effectiveness, and potential risks (Guerra, 2010).
As BIM s complementary connection to IPD, there are numerous questions regarding requirements of using BIM in IPD based
projects. Like BIM IPD considerations, is Lean construction really necessary for every IPD related project or only enforced by the
project team favor? Interestingly, many construction professionals question that whether or not IPD can implement without the use
of BIM as well as Lean principles. One step at a time, these inquiries are still exploring by experts and analysts whereas attempting
efforts of combining those three elements in construction projects are currently promoted as dominant worldwide tendencies. Thus,
interdependent corporations of ILB need to be carefully evaluated in order to flawlessly synergy them in real world cases. Specific
partnerships for each combination of two factors will be subsequently revealed and examined in next section. Figure 2.1 points out
the MacLeamy Curve for construction phases and costs through perspectives of Construction Users Roundtable (CURT, 2004). As
mentioned above, IPD, Lean construction, and BIM not only remarkable share numerous mutual characteristics and common goals
in quality, cost, and time, they

Wireless Sensor Networks For Energy Conservation
IMPLEMENTATION OF ROBUST SAMPLING IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION
Importance and Relevance and Novelty of the Project:
1. About Wireless Sensor Networks
Now a days, deployment of wireless sensor networks for real time applications has increased a lot. As and when, we talk about
monitoring, transmitting (wireless), and controlling various physical conditions at a site, which we basically call a smart system,
can be easily achieved by the wireless sensor networks.
A wireless sensor network (WSN) comprises of a large number of independently distributed sensor nodes in which sensors
employed at each and every node. These sensors are used to monitor physical or environmental conditions, and can easily pass their
data through the sensor network to the main site. Each sensor node consists of a sensing system for information acquisition, real
time data processing, a power supply unit, and wireless communicating modules, which is a basic system of a WSN. Each time the
physical conditions vary according to the time and space, WSNs starts real time data processing and sends the data.
Some of the statistics, which articulates about the importance of WSNs in the present day Society,
 Petro China is carrying out IoT projects in its oil fields, with the purpose to reconstruct 2, 00,000 oil wells. WSN technology
applied in the digital conversions of the oil wells will make use of online monitoring to measure oil well production and ensure
production safety.

Honest Vino Case Summary
The report of Honest Vino s harvesters replacement frequency Summary This report will examine why the company, Honest Vino,
should replace the selected harvesters every 15 years rather than every 10 years by Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method. Based on
the Vineyard s and harvester s details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and
compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions must be held in this analysis.
Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every 15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive
investments having unequal lives with replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two
projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into annualised values which can be
compared under this situation. The optimal option is the one with higher AE when evaluating ... Show more content on

Specifically, the calculative formula is: AE=NPV/{[1 1/(1+r)^n ]/r}. Additionally, the calculation of NPV is based on the discounted
cash flows. Compared with other DCF methods, AE considers the time, the amount of value and the risk of the cash flows. Other
DCF methods are not appropriate for this situation. For example, the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method does not take the size of
investment into account and does not consider for replacement in investment. Another method is Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not consider magnitude of value. Therefore, AE is the most
intuitionistic evaluation method to value and compare mutually exclusive investments. It indicates the investment s NPV in an
annualised presentation, which takes into account timing, magnitude and discount rate.

  • 2. Killing Reagan By Bill O Reilly And Martin Dugard Killing Reagan was wrote by Bill O Reilly and Martin Dugard as a part of their series to talk about the deaths, assassination, and near deaths of certain historical people. O Reilly and Dugard write about the events leading up to the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan including discussing the attempted assassin, John Hinckley, and the events after up until his death. The authors present the viewpoint as if one were there to witness the lives of the people in the book. Killing Reagan talks about the politics during Reagan s life and presidency to tell about who Ronald Reagan was and his ideas that influenced a presidency. Some things a reader may want to know before starting this book is a basic idea of the events and politics of the twentieth century, especially those after WWII. Overall, it is easy for just about anyone to understand. Killing Reagan starts the prologue with the sentence The man who has one minute to live is no longer confused (O Reilly and Dugard 1) as he discusses who is in the room with him, including his two kids, Ron and Patti, and his wife, Nancy Reagan. The authors also talk about what caused his death, dementia that started ten years ago that caused him to not make a public appearance in that time period. The authors go into the first chapter discussing the winning debate that probably gave him the presidency that happened a week before the election. The authors then talk about how former President Carter won past debates against Gerald R. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Goldfield Tri-Cities Case Study ully aware of what was already at stake for the Ryanite efforts in the Dweller world, DHvKA and Dritte Zug decided to make their move on the 23rd of September, together with a detachment from the Nightingales of Action Andy. Their first area of operation was a closely aligned trinity of Dweller cities built around each other, located somewhere in Southern California. Goldfield North, Goldfield Center and Goldfield South were their names, but because of their short proximity to each other, they were referred to among Caravaneers as the Goldfield Tri Cities . Benefits Of The Uk Retaining An Unwritten Constitution Constitution is a body of fundamental principles that sets out a framework of precedent which regulates the functions, powers and duties amongst the organs of the government. It provides authority to how such organs as the executive, legislative and judiciary must operate under a constitution law. The fundamental purpose of a constitution is being able to establish the roles and powers of different branches of a state alongside the perspectives and rights of its citizens. The United Kingdom is considered to have a constitution however, unlike the substantial countries like the United States of America and Australia, who currently have a sole codified document. In comparison, to the UK, Israel and New Zealand who are amongst the only three countries in the world that have a distinctive constitution which does not have a single codified constitution. This essay will be exploring and evaluating the advantages of the UK retaining an unwritten constitution, in comparison to the potentials of the UK drafting a written constitution and its capability of being flexible, alongside referencing made to John Alder and further academics. A significant feature of the British constitution, is arguably said to be flexible to a certain extend, in contrast to a rigid constitution such as the USA. One of the most important advantage of employing in house staff it is their level of investment into our organisation. This question came to me as I read Hanneken. He states, They could have given up and assimilated to the culture... Instead, they developed the idea that their God had not been defeated, but planned the exile for their own long term good, and remained with them. This was a clear departure in thought at the time and begs the question why? Understanding why the Israelites held onto God during their exile will help many see that this God is unique. • 10. The Effects of Slavery on the Black Family Essay Slavery is a period of time where people were bought, sold, and treated as property for many years. Slaves were given no rights once so ever from the time they were captured, purchased, or born. Slavery existed in many countries such as contemporary Africa, Mali, Haiti, Niger, Sudan, and Mauritania. Although slavery was equally devastating in many different countries one form of slavery that stands out the most for American history is slavery in the New World. Slaves were shipped from various locations in Africa and also different islands of the West Indies. Contrary to belief, there was a method in Africa specifically Goree Island, where wealthy Africans would sell out other Africans from their country into slavery. These merchants ... They would be raped, beaten, teased, whipped, and were victims of many cruel and unusual punishments that are unimaginable to the human race present day. Family was the most important thing to the African culture. Brothers tried their hardest to look over their younger sisters as best as possible. Old women and men with no family members to turn to, looked to the comfort of nieces, nephews, and cousins when they fell ill, and aunts and uncles played a primary part in the family as well. Men were not the only ones that were forced to take part in daily labor and routines but also women and children. Some slaves were assigned outside work in which they would tend the crops and more commonly known work the plantations on their masters estate. Women were more commonly assigned to kitchen work such as cleaning the houses, washing clothes, cooking meals, working as servants, and tending to the masters each and every need. Most women who worked in the houses were brutally raped by their masters whether or not they were married to a man or not. A New Phenomenon And Donald Trump The recent rise in awareness has brought the concept of income inequality to the forefront of American s minds; however, this is certainly not a new phenomenon. The United States has struggled with income inequality since its birth 241 years ago; the much bigger issue today stands within the mentality of greed that has developed in recent time. While income inequality has existed since the nation s birth, the looming threat to societies wellbeing is the emergence of a mentality of greed that has grown unbridledly in recent decades. Hearst enjoyed the finest things in life and bought and built grand monuments to his wealth all over the world. Diversity In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales Cody Ebner Ms. Dudley World Lit to 1650 ENGL2337 41 December 8, 2016 Current day Characters Chaucer wrote about many people, who he might not have known at all. Chaucer s ideas for his characters could have stemmed from people he saw when he worked as the controller of customs or some of his other jobs when he traveled around medieval Europe. Chaucer s diversity in his story is what made The Canterbury Tales so good in my opinion as it seemed to have different perspectives of different people even though Chaucer wrote the whole thing. His characters showed such a diversity that made it sound like these people actually wrote it themselves or told Chaucer what to write. These overall evaluations can be positive, negative, or neutral, vary in their extremity and be based on a variety of information (Tesser and Martin, 1996; Petty, Wheeler, and Tormala, 2003 ). A popular conceptualization of the attitude construct, the tripartite theory, holds that there are three primary types of information in which attitudes can be based (Breckler, 1984; Rosenberg Hovland, 1960; Zanna Rempel, 1988) : cognitions or beliefs, affect or feelings and actions or behaviour. As defined by Richard Perloff, persuasion is the process which moulds and shapes attitudes. It is through persuasion that changes in attitudes can occur. The two methods ... Hass and Gracly, found that this is only particularly effective if there is a time delay between warning and message which allows for cognitive processes to actively generate a counter argument (1975). Thus, if the target were perhaps familiar with the door in the face technique or simply inferred a second request may be likely, and there was a delay between the unrealistic and realist request, the persuasion attempt is likely to be inhibited. This paper will explore two examples of Greek pottery and explain their uses and what is seen on them and why. The first vessel is a red figure bell krater, from around 380 BC, attributed to artist known as the Erbach painter. Typically red figure style deals with scenes of everyday life rather than myth, this pot differs from this as it does contain myth but rather than depicting the action from a mythological tale, it portrays a general scene of the Greek god, of wine drama and fertility, Dionysus. Like the other, it is a red figure bell krater featuring Dionysus. In this depiction of Dionysus he is again seen holding a thyros but unlike the previous vessel instead of the presence of vines we see him holding a wine cup (kylix), which is a very common attribute of the god. To the right we see a satyr playing the flute. The satyr could be one of the Titiyroi classes of satyr as he shares many of the main characteristics of them, such as the flute and his tail. To the left of Dionysus stands a woman holding a wine jug (oinchoe). It is hard to tell who this woman is, as there are many possibilities. She could be a maenad for the reason that maenads show up in a lot of artwork with Dionysus. However this would not be a normal showing of a maenad. Maenads are usually seen holding a thyros, wearing a wreath of ivy, holding a musical instrument or wearing some kind of animal print. This woman could be Ariadne, the wife of Dionysus. In Greek artwork, Ariadne is often seen with Dionysus. Both pots share a similar artistic style and depict Dionysus in a very comparable way. The slight differences that you do see between them could be because of the time difference between each work. Nevertheless both vessels depict Dionysus in the usual way. There is stubborn, fourteen year old Mattie Ross, the quest hero, Marshal Rooster Cogburn, the wise old man, and a conceited Texas ranger named LaBoeuf, the helper/guide. Since Polonius was Laertes father he now wants revenge from Hamlet. Showing love to Laertes, Claudias arranges a fencing match between the two. The goal of this fight is to make it seem that Hamlets death was an accident. This shows Claudiases struggle for power because this will give Claudias the power he wants in the throne. This quote states, In the play, Hamlet is introduced as a troubled man in deep depression. He was mourning the death of his beloved father and his mother s marriage to his uncle. Gravity Models: Gravity models, or spatial interaction models, define a trade area based on its attractiveness relative to other trade areas. These models provide an approximation of store trade area by putting the distribution of all locations (including competitors) into a geographical context and evaluating each location s relative attractiveness. Typically, a distance decay curve is used to model the spatial interaction of individual locations. Often size of the store, or store sales if available, is used to drive the attractiveness parameter. Gravity models are more sophisticated than simple radial approximations, but they still do not account for logistical barriers and they are limited by the availability and accuracy of competitor data. Many of society s rules were constructed during the Puritan times to properly establish a governing body and it is important to examine how these concepts of society have changed and the importance of establishing them in the first place. Looking through the lenses of three different perspectives, over 300 years, it is easy to tell which of society s rules have changed the most. • 37. The Black Power Movement During The 1950 S The Black Power Movement took place during the 1950 s into the early 60 s. The point of the movement was to achieve civil rights for African Americans. Martin Luther King was a major influence during the early stages of the movement. Many people turned to the Black Panthers, founded by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale, because they felt that nonviolence was not the answer to achieving civil rights. The Black Power Movement unsuccessfully tried to change the economic and social inequalities of blacks, because today many blacks are still treated socially and economically inferior to whites. One reason the Black Power Movement was unsuccessful is the economic insecurities of blacks in today s society. A major reason for the high rate of poverty of blacks is what is known as the double burden of poverty. This double burden of poverty is when a person is poor, but also surrounded by a neighborhood that is just as poor. One cannot expect to get help, or have a better life, when one is surrounded by those who are in the same situation as them. Chicago is a perfect example of a city whose poverty rate is extremely high. Statistics show in the, five year American Community Survey data from 2009 2013, more than a third of all poor African Americans in metropolitan Chicago live in high poverty census tracts (Badger). Relationships Among Bim, Ipd, And Lean Construction Relationships among BIM, IPD, and Lean Construction In general, IPD, Lean, or BIM is a particularly new controversial phenomenon in the construction industry that generates many debates and discussions around each component s advantages and disadvantages, effectiveness, and potential risks (Guerra, 2010). As BIM s complementary connection to IPD, there are numerous questions regarding requirements of using BIM in IPD based projects. Like BIM IPD considerations, is Lean construction really necessary for every IPD related project or only enforced by the project team favor? Interestingly, many construction professionals question that whether or not IPD can implement without the use of BIM as well as Lean principles. One step at a time, these inquiries are still exploring by experts and analysts whereas attempting efforts of combining those three elements in construction projects are currently promoted as dominant worldwide tendencies. Thus, interdependent corporations of ILB need to be carefully evaluated in order to flawlessly synergy them in real world cases. Honest Vino Case Summary The report of Honest Vino s harvesters replacement frequency Summary This report will examine why the company, Honest Vino, should replace the selected harvesters every 15 years rather than every 10 years by Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every 15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into annualised values which can be compared under this situation. The optimal option is the one with higher AE when evaluating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Specifically, the calculative formula is: AE=NPV/{[1 1/(1+r)^n ]/r}. Other DCF methods are not appropriate for this situation. For example, the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method does not take the size of investment into account and does not consider for replacement in investment. Another method is Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not consider magnitude of value.
