Eric Foner Give Me Liberty
According to Eric Foner in his book Give Me Liberty! , there were major arguments against the
Constitution put forth by the anti federalists. The anti federalists were opponents of ratification who
insisted that the Constitution shifted the balance between liberty and power too far in the direction of
the latter. Basically their main belief was that a too powerful central government is a threat to liberty
and will continue to influence American political culture. Anti federalists were state politicians and
included Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Patrick Henry. They drew their support from small
farmers in more isolated rural areas such as the Hudson Valley of New York, western Massachusetts,
and the southern backcountry. They repeatedly

Sustainability On Brevard College Campus
Sustainability on Brevard College Campus
Environmental sustainability is the ability to be able to continue a certain process or use a certain
resource indefinitely (Mason). For example, if you re using a certain resource and you know it s going
to run out one day, that resource is unsustainable. Sustainability is important because a lot of the
practices that we do in modern society from agriculture, to energy source, and even development, are
completely depleting our resources. This practices were also made to accommodate our fast pace
lifestyle, everything is built and made to be fast and cheap, nothing is made to last anymore. Many
people are realizing the importance of being sustainable and the world is slowly changing to
sustainable practices like Renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, while also changing the fast
and easy mind set to a more reusable one. Brevard College has boarded the sustainable train of the
world by making several additions to the school like solar panels, alternative transportation options, a
Fair trade and organic Coffee shop, and several environmental based clubs. Although they are heading
in the right direction, many changes still need to be made in order to achieve a well developed
sustainable campus.
Like states above, one of the changes made in the past couple years had been the addition of solar
panels on top of the campus cafeteria. Although they re small, it s a step into the right direction
towards renewable energy powering

class. Ms. Watkins, Ian s grade 10 Civics teacher set up an interview for him to volunteer at a
downtown soup kitchen. Having no other choice and wanting to pass the class he went to the
interview and started working that night. Ian volunteered at the soup kitchen every chance he got
because he had limited time to get his community service hours. Mac, the man who owned the soup
kitchen helped Ian find his way. As time went by the two grew closer. Mac took Ian out to meet some
of the people who lived on the streets. Ian also met a man named Jacques (Sarge) who went to the

Cleveland Cavaliers
Everyone will form their own opinion when it comes to the ground breaking decision to fire David
Blatt as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It wasn t necessarily a terrible decision by any
means, but it was quite odd. To fire a head coach, who had coached a team to a 30 11 record and had
them on top of the conference almost sounds comical. But, something needed to change, and
unfortunately GM David Griffin decided to start with Blatt.
Instantly, rumors began to circulate that Cavs star LeBron James was in some way involved with the
decision to relieve Blatt of his coaching duties. We can all make out assumptions, but in reality only
they know what really occurred. Regardless, it s in the rear view and Cleveland has moved on with ...

Which could have been a combination of Blatt not being able to lead this team, and also the team
simply not knowing how to play together. When you watch, and I mean really watch teams like the
Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs what do they do better than Cleveland? Pace and ball
movement. That s what needs to be the main focus for this team place emphasis on pace and move the
ball around, which will create better shot opportunities.
There is nothing wrong with this team. I mean they re still 33 12 and still maintain the best record in
the Eastern Conference. Since dropping the first game under Lue, the past three games there has
already been some noticeable adjustments made. The Cavaliers will be scrutinized for every little
thing, it s what comes with having a, big three. Especially, when you have James.
It will be important for Cleveland to jump on their opponents early in the game and gain a respectable
lead. Then, they won t be playing catch up so often and can then play some, freestyle, ball and get to
know each other while simultaneously gaining more chemistry. For the second half of the season, the
mission for Cleveland will be to work on getting that bulls eye off their back, and getting back to
enjoying playing the game without all of the

The Importance of Low Aggregate Volatility in the US Economy
Since the mid 1980 s the United States economy has been characterized by low inflation and low
volatility in the market. The Former Fed chairman Ben Bernanke has even gone as far to say that the
Fed has tamed the business cycle. Supporters of this idea believed that deregulation of the financial
sector and controlling inflation would bring long expansions and limited recessions. What were the
factors that caused this period of stable economic growth? This period of low volatility was due to
both Fed regulation and good timing or luck. The financial crisis has obviously proven that the Fed
has not fully tamed the business cycle. Whether any rise in volatility is more likely temporary than
permanent will depend on the cause of the rise in volatility (Clark, 5 6). Now the question remains is if
The Great Moderation is really over, and if the economy can return to this period of low volatility.
Some believe that this rise in volatility is only temporary. Why is low aggregate volatility so
important? For starters, the market is more stable and investors animal spirits are kept in check.
People are more optimistic about employment and economic growth. Low inflation helps keep
economic and business forecasting less volatile. Lower volatility of inflation improves market
functioning, makes economic planning easier, and reduces the resources devoted to hedging inflation
risks (Bernanke, 145). A stable economy is always the goal for the Fed. In order to have a stable

Summary Of The Poem White Lies
The poem White Lies by Natasha Trethewey, gives the reader a glimpse of Trethewey s troublesome
upbringing in a biracial family during a time when biracial marriage was illegal in the deep South.
Trethewey s poems tend to have a deeper meaning and several secreted messages. The poem, White
Lies, is a prime example of Trethewey s phenomenal work and conveys an important, and quite
dejected, message. Trethewey clearly defines her attitude as embarrassed and ashamed of her
upbringing in a biracial family.
Trethewey begins in lines 1 through 6 by telling the readers about the lies she told as a child. She
explains to the readers that these lies were just white lies and nothing more than that. In lines 1
through 6, Trethewey says, The lies I could tell, /when I was growing up /light bright, near white /high
yellow, red boned /in a black place, /were just white lies. The literal definition of a white lie is, a
harmless or trivial lie, especially one told to avoid hurting someone s feelings. Though, Trethewey
includes a double meaning within her title, White Lies. The author is clearly referring to herself by
using color imagery when she says, The lies I could tell, /when I was growing up /light bright, near
white /high yellow, red boned /in a black place, /were just white lies. These white lies are about
Trethewey hiding the fact that she comes from a biracial home in the deep South because of how
embarrassed and ashamed she is of it.
Furthermore, Trethewey further conveys her message of embarrassment and ashamedness of her black
culture and biracial family in lines 7 through 18. Trethewey speaks of how she would tell white lies
about where she lives in lines 7 through 11. The author states, I could easily tell the white folks /that
we lived uptown, /not in that shanty fied shotgun section /along the tracks. Trethewey is using
alliteration when she says, not in that shanty fied shot gun section. Likewise, Trethewey is also
embarrassed of her clothing that is homemade by her loving mother. Trethewey says, I could act /like
my homemade dresses /came straight out of the window /of Maison Blanche. Trethewey states in lines
14 through 18, I could even /keep quiet, quiet as I kept, /like the time a

Companies and governments use capital markets to raise funds for their operations. Capital markets
include primary markets, such as IPOs that are placed with investors through underwriters, and
secondary markets, in which all subsequent trading takes place. Government agencies in different
countries regulate local capital markets, though some, especially exchanges, play some role in
regulating themselves . Primary markets are used for new issues and secondary markets are used for
existing issues for trading purposes. Stocks are bonds are the basic Capital market instruments which
are used in both primary and secondary markets. Secondary markets are securities purchases mainly
from other investors rather than directly from the issuing companies themselves. Stocks are used as
capital market instruments for physical, virtual and auction markets. Bonds are traded in the separate
bonds markets. Every capital market instrument is important because it depends on the investors
preference. Some are risk seeking and some are conservative who care about steady returns rather than
the high risk rate of return. Stocks are the most commonly used counterparts in capital market
instruments because they have an unlimited capital and have a higher rate of liquidity compared to
bonds. Composition of Investment Portfolio s Composition of an investment

The Big Uneasy By Harry Shearer
The Big Uneasy by Harry Shearer is a documentary about the disastrous flooding of New Orleans
during the Hurricane Katrina in a different viewpoint. While mass media describe the flood as well as
the hurricane as a natural disaster, Shearer claims that the flooding was actually a man made disaster,
not a natural one; and the film contains comprehensive investigations with scientific data to support
the claim. The Big Uneasy highlights on the ineffective design and maintenance of the flood
protection system, as well as the engineering structure of the Mississippi River s waterway in the city.

Go . Mr. Go is a 76 mile canal that was constructed in 1968. The Corps stated that this canal could
reduce the time and distance needed for ships to travel from the Gulf of Mexico to New Orleans.
Before Mr. Go was built, the Corps claimed that the canal would help the city develop and make
profits. However, a statistic shows that only an average of ten seagoing vessels goes through the canal
every year. Moreover, the vessels carry most basic goods such as toilet papers. This waterway does not
only have no economic benefits, it was also a path that allows the water from the Gulf of Mexico to
directly enter New Orleans, which collided with the Industrial Canal during the hurricane. This
collision created an approximately of the 800 foot breaching, which let the flood enter the region. As
the result, 80 percent of New Orleans was under the water. The Corps s poor planning left the
population of New Orleans in a vulnerable situation during the Katrina. Nevertheless, New Orleans
faced another problem that not only had worsen Katrina s impacts, but also forced many New Orleans

The Corps s effort to dry New Orleans has ruined the natural flood barrier of the region. The Corps

Lastly, there s pathos. Pathos appeals to emotion. Most of this ad is in an attempt to create a certain
mood. First of all, both the models in the ad are happy supposedly because of Capri Sun Organic.
Also, the slogan Unleash Your Inner Child, is an illusion to happier and less stressful times when all
we were doing was having fun. All the allusions to health also make the consumer feel good about
their choice to drink the product. Plus, if people feel good about the product they re more likely to buy
it. In short, everything in this ad is used to create an association between Capri Sun Organic and health
and happiness.
The first advertising technique use is transfer. Transfer is everywhere from the smiling faces of the
models to the use of words like, Organic, Healthier, Tastier, Better, and New. All these words have
positive connotations and images associated with them, which helps give consumers a positive
outlook on the product. Another technique used is weasel words. New Capri Sun Organic Healthier,
Tastier, and Better Than Ever, is misleading. For one it s subjective. While someone may think it s
healthier or tastier, another person may disagree. Also, there is no proof that it is actually tastier or
healthier. Another technique used is facts and figures. Facts and figures can be seen in the 1 serving of

Differences Between The Bodhisattva In The Davis Museum
Another more obvious difference between the Bodhisattva in the Davis Museum is the coloring of
each. Unfortunately, time has worn away most of the paint on these heads, but the left Bodhisattva
shows more remnants of the original painting, including a small wavy mustache. Red paint can still be
seen in the headdress, the urna and the lines of the neck. Both heads have dark paint outlining the
eyebrows and the eyes, offering the viewer a look into Gandharan culture. One can see the hair was
once painted black based on the left Bodhisattva s hair which still contains some of the dark pigment.
While most of the paint has worn away, the naturalistic sculpting style allows the life of the
Bodhisattvas to remain intact without the added color. The sculptures appear dynamic due to the use
of lines and shadows in order to further one s sense of naturalism. The eye sockets are set deep into

The stucco heads are examples of the novel art that was formed when art from different countries was
allowed to influence each other. This is visibly illustrated by the Davis Museum placing the

various art forms. While the informational cards about the Bodhisattvas are helpful tools, they must be
taken with a grain of salt. Whatever is printed on the informational cards must be questioned and
analyzed instead of believed to be the truth. The museum controls the informational cards and thus,
controls the narrative that the audience will learn about each piece. Nonetheless, it is critical to be

Jnana Yoga Caught My Attraction
Initially, Jnana stood out due to the implication that Moksha can be achieved using knowledge.
Intrigued, I was under the impression that this meant to use facts to understand parts of life that are
complicated or that cause stress. Much to my surprise, I came to the realization that the knowledge
they speak of is not fact, but a way of thinking. Regardless of this hiccup, this path to Moksha still
displayed relevancy to my lifestyle.
Jnana yoga caught my attraction because I was operating under the assumption that this was a way to
put my love of learning to use. That is, I thought one is required to learn various facts about different
subjects to grasp Jnana. My misunderstanding of this led to some research, which was very beneficial
and resulted in my increased awareness of the implications of Jnana to my own life.
One of the important applications of Jnana yoga is to discriminate what is real from the unreal (Swami
Vidyananda,Using Your Discrimination in Daily Life: Youtube). To do this, one must figure out what
is real and existing in their life at the moment. This allows a person to be mindful of their life and to
take in their immediate surrounding instead of worrying about imminent future. Another way to look
at this is to come to the realization that nothing in life is guaranteed and that the situation being fretted
over may not come to fruition for a number of reasons. The time spent fretting over the nonexistent
future could have been spent enjoying life and

The first step in the analysis was to categorize each patient by whether or not they passed the clinical

Examples Of Jane Bennet Marriage
Jane s marriage with Mr. Bingley breaks social traditions through the acts of indifference and by
overlooking the Bennet s ridiculousness. The eldest of all the Bennets, Jane Bennet, has a shy
personality and usually does not express her feelings. Mr. Bingley, wealthy with a kind personality, is
attracted to Miss Bennet since their first dance. During the time period of this book, women must find
lovers in order to marry and stay within social traditions. When Jane s shy character seems to give off
the impression of being detached in Bingley, Darcy immediately intervenes. Darcy is the reason
Bingley leaves Jane for months. In Darcy s letter to Elizabeth, he mentions his reasoning for
separating them: she receives his attention with pleasure, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bingley, she is indifferent to him. Although this separation did hurt both of the characters, it ended up
strengthening their relationship with distance. Just like the famous saying distance makes the heart
grow fonder . The second instance in which they break traditions is when Mr. Bingley overlooks the
Bennet family s ridiculousness. We read about many different scenarios where the Bennets do not
have proper behavior. For example, Lydia, the youngest of the Bennets, has an elopement with Mr.
Wickham. This elopement practically disgraces the family name and Lydia displays the ring like it is
an honorable achievement, even though it is not something to be proud of. A wealthy man like Mr.
Bingley can choose any women in England, but he is only interested in Jane. When Lady Catherine is
roughly trying to convince Elizabeth to not marry Darcy, she brings up Lydia s elopement: is such a
girl to be my nephew s sister (338)? Lady Catherine does not want Mr. Dancy to have such a
ridiculous sister; it would disgrace her family. You could say the same stands for Bingley, he puts up
with all the ridiculousness that comes from the Bennets, instead of turning the other

Biological Macromolecule Polyhydroxybutyrate ( Phb )
ABSTRACT
The important biological macromolecule polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) producing Bacillus subtilis was
isolated from the sewage sample and identified by means of 16S rRNA analysis. The renewable nature
and biodegradability of PHBs make them suitable materials to replace synthetic plastics in many
applications. Currently their production is expensive, but these plastics are only in their first stage of
commercial development. In the present study the physico chemical parameters such as Time,
Temperature and pH were optimized for increased production of PHB. It was found that maximum
production of PHB was observed at 48th hour (328µg/ml) of incubation time, temperature 370C
(336µg/ml), pH 7.5 (362 µg/ml). The low cost production media was developed using fruit peel
extract and sugarcane industrial waste. The amount of PHB produced using low cost production media
in fruit peel (234µg/ml) and industrial waste (218µg/ml). The PHB was characterized using FTIR and
NMR analysis.
Keywords: polyhydroxybutyrate, Bacillus subtilis, optimization, INTRODUCTION The human
population has led to the accumulation of huge amounts of non degradable waste materials across our
planet. The problem of environmental pollution was caused by indiscriminate dumping of plastic
waste has assumed global proportions. They are used in almost all industries, especially for packaging
and they account for more than 50% of total consumption, especially they are used for bottling and

Perspectives On Voluntary Euthanasia
Voluntary Euthanasia: A Number of Perspectives
The field of ethics exists specifically to help people make moral decisions with a sense of consistency
and equality. Morality and moral decisions are never quite as clear and easily reduced as they appear
to be in text form. The concepts of rights, duties, preferences, cultural sensitivities, the priorities of
individuals and societies at large, all of these come into play when making moral decisions. This is all
the more the case in areas wherein a loss of life is concerned. Death is a large part of life and has
extreme significance in all cultures, which is made all the more complicated when it is caused by one s
own hand.
Voluntary euthanasia is one of the subjects that makes people very uncomfortable, ... Show more

Given that Deontological Ethics are also called Duty Theories (Fieser, 2014), we see that the duties
one has to others are placed in higher esteem than the cessation of one s own suffering. This is
complicated further by the addition of duties to oneself such as the prevention of harm to oneself or
the avoidance of self destruction. A Deontologist who emphasizes the application and respect for
rights might make a decision in either direction, placing the right of one s own choices regarding one s
own life as paramount, or perhaps saying that one s right to life cannot be rescinded by others, which
would make it moral to keep someone alive, even against their wishes. A Deontological ethicist would
most likely say that voluntary euthanasia is an immoral system, as it allows for the violation of one s
duties to others, to oneself, or

Altered States Of Consciousness
I did my project on a few examples of Altered States of consciousness. To begin with, Consciousness
defined as a state of being awake and aware of one s surroundings. Even when you re asleep you re
considered to be conscious. This is because you were still able to react to the world around you. For
example, in the morning you re either woken by your alarm clock or your mother. Either way you are
still able to react and wake up. When someone is unconscious that person cannot act or react normally
to the environment around them. An example would be either a coma or death. Now that we got
Consciousness out of the way next up is Altered States of consciousness. Defined it is a temporary
change in one s mental state without being considered unconscious. It can be intentional with things
like: hypnosis, meditation, biofeedback, and psychedelic drugs. Also, unintentional, with things like
sleeping, daydreaming, sleep deprivation, sickness etc. I m going to focus on a few of the intentional
ones like hypnosis, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness. There are many techniques when it comes to
meditation. All methods share a common thread: they focus on a peaceful repetitive stimulus that is
used to help one relax and or sleep. Some Studies have found that it helps some lower their blood

Fairy Tales Argument
In our society today, fairy tales are full of magic, tiaras, ball gowns, and Prince Charmings, which
serve as entertainment for their audience. Bruno Bettelheim, one of the most renowned psychologists
and fairy tale experts of his time, proposes that fairy tales are therapeutic tools for children. However,
the essay Why Fairy Tales Matter: The Performative and the Transformative by Maria Tatar proposes
a different view, one deeper than therapeutic realms. She believes that children must read fairy tales
because it is their gateway to the land of curiosity and imagination. Through these fairy tales, children
are motivated to use the power of language to communicate and effect change throughout their lives.
Tatar provides numerous proofs to support her claims, however the contradictory logic and
substandard quality of evidence makes her readers question if reading fairy tales is truly essential for
children. In the beginning of the essay, Tatar mentions Bruno Bettleheim s book, The Uses of
Enchantment, and asserts that it both gave fame and injustice to fairy tales. Bettelheim s book
symbolizes the effect of changing fairy tales to many different media. Tatar asserts the original motive
of old fairy tales to tell cultural stories is now masked by the commercialized motivation of new fairy
tales. She believes the new versions of fairy tales do not embody the vital teaching of language that
fairy tales used to have. Tatar mentions that reading fairy tales is an essential part of children s lives
because it has numerous transformational powers that are vital for their adulthood. Tatar explains this
by making three evident points in her essay. First, she asserts that even if fairy tales change from
media to media, the emotional response is still apparent. Which then leads her to her second point that
fairy tales have the power to evoke emotions from their readers. These feelings contained in fairy tales
are young readers gateway to the power of language. Tatar exemplifies that the power of language is
important for children to learn so they can accurately articulate words that impacts the world around
them. (Tatar 55 64) Tatar also utilizes different stylistic approach to make her argumentative

The Career Of A Naval Nurse
The famous Helen Keller once said The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or
even touched they must be felt with the heart. When a girl was younger before her grandfather passed
away he used to tell her all about the adventures he went on as a kid. He talked about how he and his
brothers used to get in trouble playing with toy guns and pretending they were soldiers. When he grew
up into a handsome young gentleman he went and joined the Navy. Every time she went to him he
always told her a new adventure he and the boys (the crew) would go on. He was her inspiration to
want to join the navy, but her hero is the real reason for her to want to be a nurse. The career of a

Lenders And Credit Loans Online Payday Loans
Lenders who offer bad credit loans, including online payday loans, personal installment loans and auto
title loans, have come under increasing attack in recent years. The Consumer Financial Protection
Bureau, or CFPB, has been the most vocal critic of these lenders. The CFPB published its proposed
regulations for short term, small dollar loans in June 2016. Included in the 1,341 pages of new rules
and explanations is a section that deals specifically with lenders who offer online payday loans.
Despite the pending proposed regulations and the criticism leveled at the lenders, however, the
number of borrowers seeking an online payday loan continues to increase.
Why Payday Loans Online Continue to Increase Despite Criticism of the Industry
In recent years, many states and municipalities have passed laws that have made it difficult or
impossible for payday lenders to operate a traditional storefront. However, as multiple witnesses
pointed out during testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial
Services, outlawing a product is not the same as eliminating the demand for the product. In simple
terms, people want the ability to borrow small amounts of money when they need to handle a financial
emergency, and if they cannot deal with a lender who has a store, they will turn to a lender who offers
online payday loans.
However, there are other reasons for the increasing number of people looking for an online payday
loan. Unlike stores, websites are open

``That was the stupidest thing. When you train birds you realize how intelligent they are, Nelson said.
``I knew we had to do something to stop it. In 1980 Morley Nelson noticed a drop in population of

with the help of many others, compromised with the government to grant the Snake River Birds of
Prey National Conservation Area permanent protection, and saved thousands of birds from being
hunted. Growing up on a farm and being involved in World War ll are two factors that had a

Collective Bargaining In The Workplace
With the passing of the National Labor Relations Act by Congress in 1935 private sector employees
were given the right to unionize and bargain collectively. Essentially this was a format for employees
to improve their wages and working conditions. This ended up allowing the States to then decide if
public sector employees were going to receive the same rights as private employees and be able to
unionize and bargain collectively for their working conditions. To simply define public employees
they represent workers at every government level. Basically teachers, firefighters, police officers,
postal workers and any other employee of the government at any level that you can think of that

The contract negotiations for these public workers are dependent not on private corporations, but on
the size of government budgets. This is the one segment of labor that can actually contribute directly to
the people because these jobs are considered a public service. It tends to be the reason why you may
see or hear about so much protesting from teachers attempting to improve their work conditions and
wages because they must unionize and get union leaders to fight and make their bargains be heard.
Believe it or not most states required schools to engage in collective bargaining and other states
allowed collective bargaining. For a job position that is considered a public service and receives
benefits from a government budget, it would make sense for public employees to bargain for their
benefits and concern. It s just not fair when the government budget comes from the taxes of people
and the money is not being distributed for the right reasons. I think it s the politics of things because
these workers are negotiating with the government through union labor leaders and politicians but is
there bargaining and unionization actually leading to something beneficial to the people who
publically serve us every day. Of course it makes sense for them to unionize and fight for their lives

Use Of Suspense In The Abandoned Farmhouse
Text Connection Essay Watch out! screamed Maggie. Suddenly the road took a sharp turn, and a huge
oak tree loomed in my headlights (Shusterman 39). When Neal Shusterman uses suspense it s usually
in a way that would probably end badly. He loves to try and hook the reader with suspense, so then the
readers would want to keep reading that same book. As evidence in Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman and
The Abandoned Farmhouse by Ted Kooser, suspense can be effectively created through the use of
imagery. Neal Shusterman effectively uses imagery to create suspense in his novel, Full Tilt. All at
once the train swung around an outside curve, its riders screaming with joy, completely unaware of
my idiot brother directly in their path (Shusterman 8). This quote from Full Tilt is an example of
imagery because, it is showing how Quinn is on the track of the roller coaster, and the coaster was
probably going to hit Quinn. This quote creates suspense by showing how Blake s brother could ve
gotten hit or killed if he hadn t grabbed him off the tracks, and that leaves the readers thinking, what s
going to happen. I could see the very top of a Ferris wheel rising above the fog, churning the moonlit
mist like a riverboat paddle (Shusterman 40). This quote shows the method of imagery by giving a
deeply descriptive sentence about what the sky looks like. This quote creates suspense because, right
before this quote in the book it says things about how horrid the carnival was. The way

  • 2. Eric Foner Give Me Liberty According to Eric Foner in his book Give Me Liberty! , there were major arguments against the Constitution put forth by the anti federalists. The anti federalists were opponents of ratification who insisted that the Constitution shifted the balance between liberty and power too far in the direction of the latter. Basically their main belief was that a too powerful central government is a threat to liberty and will continue to influence American political culture. Anti federalists were state politicians and included Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Patrick Henry. They drew their support from small farmers in more isolated rural areas such as the Hudson Valley of New York, western Massachusetts, and the southern backcountry. They repeatedly ... • 5. Sustainability On Brevard College Campus Sustainability on Brevard College Campus Environmental sustainability is the ability to be able to continue a certain process or use a certain resource indefinitely (Mason). For example, if you re using a certain resource and you know it s going to run out one day, that resource is unsustainable. Sustainability is important because a lot of the practices that we do in modern society from agriculture, to energy source, and even development, are completely depleting our resources. This practices were also made to accommodate our fast pace lifestyle, everything is built and made to be fast and cheap, nothing is made to last anymore. Many people are realizing the importance of being sustainable and the world is slowly changing to sustainable practices like Renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, while also changing the fast and easy mind set to a more reusable one. Brevard College has boarded the sustainable train of the world by making several additions to the school like solar panels, alternative transportation options, a Fair trade and organic Coffee shop, and several environmental based clubs. Although they are heading in the right direction, many changes still need to be made in order to achieve a well developed sustainable campus. Like states above, one of the changes made in the past couple years had been the addition of solar panels on top of the campus cafeteria. Although they re small, it s a step into the right direction towards renewable energy powering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Cleveland Cavaliers Everyone will form their own opinion when it comes to the ground breaking decision to fire David Blatt as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It wasn t necessarily a terrible decision by any means, but it was quite odd. To fire a head coach, who had coached a team to a 30 11 record and had them on top of the conference almost sounds comical. But, something needed to change, and unfortunately GM David Griffin decided to start with Blatt. Instantly, rumors began to circulate that Cavs star LeBron James was in some way involved with the decision to relieve Blatt of his coaching duties. We can all make out assumptions, but in reality only they know what really occurred. Regardless, it s in the rear view and Cleveland has moved on with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which could have been a combination of Blatt not being able to lead this team, and also the team simply not knowing how to play together. When you watch, and I mean really watch teams like the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs what do they do better than Cleveland? Pace and ball movement. That s what needs to be the main focus for this team place emphasis on pace and move the ball around, which will create better shot opportunities. There is nothing wrong with this team. I mean they re still 33 12 and still maintain the best record in the Eastern Conference. Since dropping the first game under Lue, the past three games there has already been some noticeable adjustments made. The Cavaliers will be scrutinized for every little thing, it s what comes with having a, big three. Especially, when you have James. It will be important for Cleveland to jump on their opponents early in the game and gain a respectable lead. Then, they won t be playing catch up so often and can then play some, freestyle, ball and get to know each other while simultaneously gaining more chemistry. For the second half of the season, the mission for Cleveland will be to work on getting that bulls eye off their back, and getting back to enjoying playing the game without all of the ... • 8. The Importance of Low Aggregate Volatility in the US Economy Since the mid 1980 s the United States economy has been characterized by low inflation and low volatility in the market. The Former Fed chairman Ben Bernanke has even gone as far to say that the Fed has tamed the business cycle. Supporters of this idea believed that deregulation of the financial sector and controlling inflation would bring long expansions and limited recessions. What were the factors that caused this period of stable economic growth? This period of low volatility was due to both Fed regulation and good timing or luck. The financial crisis has obviously proven that the Fed has not fully tamed the business cycle. Whether any rise in volatility is more likely temporary than permanent will depend on the cause of the rise in volatility (Clark, 5 6). Now the question remains is if The Great Moderation is really over, and if the economy can return to this period of low volatility. Some believe that this rise in volatility is only temporary. Why is low aggregate volatility so important? For starters, the market is more stable and investors animal spirits are kept in check. People are more optimistic about employment and economic growth. Low inflation helps keep economic and business forecasting less volatile. Lower volatility of inflation improves market functioning, makes economic planning easier, and reduces the resources devoted to hedging inflation risks (Bernanke, 145). A stable economy is always the goal for the Fed. In order to have a stable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Summary Of The Poem White Lies The poem White Lies by Natasha Trethewey, gives the reader a glimpse of Trethewey s troublesome upbringing in a biracial family during a time when biracial marriage was illegal in the deep South. Trethewey s poems tend to have a deeper meaning and several secreted messages. The poem, White Lies, is a prime example of Trethewey s phenomenal work and conveys an important, and quite dejected, message. Trethewey clearly defines her attitude as embarrassed and ashamed of her upbringing in a biracial family. Trethewey begins in lines 1 through 6 by telling the readers about the lies she told as a child. She explains to the readers that these lies were just white lies and nothing more than that. In lines 1 through 6, Trethewey says, The lies I could tell, /when I was growing up /light bright, near white /high yellow, red boned /in a black place, /were just white lies. The literal definition of a white lie is, a harmless or trivial lie, especially one told to avoid hurting someone s feelings. Though, Trethewey includes a double meaning within her title, White Lies. The author is clearly referring to herself by using color imagery when she says, The lies I could tell, /when I was growing up /light bright, near white /high yellow, red boned /in a black place, /were just white lies. These white lies are about Trethewey hiding the fact that she comes from a biracial home in the deep South because of how embarrassed and ashamed she is of it. Furthermore, Trethewey further conveys her message of embarrassment and ashamedness of her black culture and biracial family in lines 7 through 18. Trethewey speaks of how she would tell white lies about where she lives in lines 7 through 11. The author states, I could easily tell the white folks /that we lived uptown, /not in that shanty fied shotgun section /along the tracks. Trethewey is using alliteration when she says, not in that shanty fied shot gun section. Likewise, Trethewey is also embarrassed of her clothing that is homemade by her loving mother. Trethewey says, I could act /like my homemade dresses /came straight out of the window /of Maison Blanche. Trethewey states in lines 14 through 18, I could even /keep quiet, quiet as I kept, /like the time a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Much to my surprise, I came to the realization that the knowledge they speak of is not fact, but a way of thinking. Regardless of this hiccup, this path to Moksha still displayed relevancy to my lifestyle. Jnana yoga caught my attraction because I was operating under the assumption that this was a way to put my love of learning to use. My misunderstanding of this led to some research, which was very beneficial and resulted in my increased awareness of the implications of Jnana to my own life. One of the important applications of Jnana yoga is to discriminate what is real from the unreal (Swami Vidyananda,Using Your Discrimination in Daily Life: Youtube). • 29. Fairy Tales Argument In our society today, fairy tales are full of magic, tiaras, ball gowns, and Prince Charmings, which serve as entertainment for their audience. Bruno Bettelheim, one of the most renowned psychologists and fairy tale experts of his time, proposes that fairy tales are therapeutic tools for children. However, the essay Why Fairy Tales Matter: The Performative and the Transformative by Maria Tatar proposes a different view, one deeper than therapeutic realms. She believes that children must read fairy tales because it is their gateway to the land of curiosity and imagination. Through these fairy tales, children are motivated to use the power of language to communicate and effect change throughout their lives. Tatar provides numerous proofs to support her claims, however the contradictory logic and substandard quality of evidence makes her readers question if reading fairy tales is truly essential for children. In the beginning of the essay, Tatar mentions Bruno Bettleheim s book, The Uses of Enchantment, and asserts that it both gave fame and injustice to fairy tales. Bettelheim s book symbolizes the effect of changing fairy tales to many different media. Tatar asserts the original motive of old fairy tales to tell cultural stories is now masked by the commercialized motivation of new fairy tales. She believes the new versions of fairy tales do not embody the vital teaching of language that fairy tales used to have. Tatar mentions that reading fairy tales is an essential part of children s lives because it has numerous transformational powers that are vital for their adulthood. Tatar explains this by making three evident points in her essay. First, she asserts that even if fairy tales change from media to media, the emotional response is still apparent. Which then leads her to her second point that fairy tales have the power to evoke emotions from their readers. These feelings contained in fairy tales are young readers gateway to the power of language. Tatar exemplifies that the power of language is important for children to learn so they can accurately articulate words that impacts the world around them. He loves to try and hook the reader with suspense, so then the readers would want to keep reading that same book. As evidence in Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman and The Abandoned Farmhouse by Ted Kooser, suspense can be effectively created through the use of imagery. Neal Shusterman effectively uses imagery to create suspense in his novel, Full Tilt.
