                  Orianne
What layout will you be using for your
      contents page and WHY?

For my contents page I will be using InDesign to create my layout for the
contents page. I will be using a document grid to help me place my text and
a baseline grid for pictures. I will also use guides to help align everything
neatly. I will mainly make sure my columns are apparent are all times to
keep my contents page neat. By using all these grids and columns it will
make my contents page look closest to a professional standard.
What codes and conventions will you be
         using from your CONTENTS PAGE
               RESEARCH and WHY?
In my contents page I will be using generic codes and conventions seen in other contents
page done in my research.
                                                          • Captions with images
• Page number So that the audience can understand what the

• Colour theme (connects to the front cover) This is so that it is not boring but catchy and you’re
So that the audience can easily recognise the drawn to different pieces of information
magazine in later issues also it doesn’t look messy
and unorganised.
WHAT type of images, graphics will you be
using to make your Contents Page easy to
navigate by your target audience and
                   WHY?
I will be using images of grime artists and I will have captions underneath my images to
make it easier for my audience to navigate. I will have the magazine logo on the contents
page to link both my contents page and front cover. I will make sure there are page
numbers.
WHAT four image shot types will you be
using for your Contents Page and WHY
will they appeal to your potential target
                     audience?
I will be using pictures of familiar grime artists in my contents page to emphasise the
meaning of grime, this will appeal to my target audience as they will be able to
recognise what genre they’re representing.
WHAT stories will you be including in your
Contents Page and HOW will they be
           related to the images?
I will be including interviews with artists and music reviews. I will make sure all stories
and interviews relate to the music Genre. I will have success stories such as how up and
coming music artists have achieved their goals and advice they could give to others . All
my images will be relating to the stories they will also feature captions.
WHAT do you want these images to tell
         your audience and WHY?
My images will convey to the reader the genre of Grime. The images will also be of
relation to the reader as they may be able to relate to the models in the image. It will
also tell my audience that young teens also aspire in music careers. When they see
how young my models are they will see that Grime music and any other type of
music can inspire people at any age.
WHAT colour scheme will you be
              using and WHY?
I will be using the same colour scheme I used on the front cover, white, blue and grey. I
will stick to the front covers colour scheme as this will create a link with the front cover
and the rest of the magazine. This will also be easier for the reader to identify the
magazine .
WHAT essential information will be
included in your Contents Page e.g.
 Features, reviews, commentary and WHY?
I will include reviews for my audience to be informed on their hobbies and interests such
as music and games and clothing. This will be useful to my target audience as they will be
able to keep up to date. I will include commentary to show my target audience that this
magazine is read by others and shares the particular interests as them. I will include
features and competitions for my audience. This will hopefully encourage them to buy
more so that they benefit from prizes and win fee stuff.
HOW will you be arranging the
information on your contents page and
                       WHY?
• My contents page will be arranged in
ascending order starting with the
images
• The writing on the contents page will
occupy this space as it will be the
longest piece of text my reader will see
first.
• I will have three images and captions
underneath them with big bold
numbers next to them
• I will have the magazine selling line at
the top to remind my reader what
magazine it is
• I will also have a folio at the bottom
of the page which will include the
magazine name and the page number.
HOW will you make your Contents Page
easy for your audience to find the major
        cover story or other stories?
As shown in the previous slide my contents page will include large numbers and
captions indicating the page numbers and what the picture is about . Also there is a
folio that follows on in every page within the magazine, this makes it easier for the
audience to find cover stories and other stories. I may also exaggerate the cover
story on the contents page to get my reader to read it first.
WHAT type of fonts and font sizes will you
be using for your Contents Page and
                    WHY?
I will be using a range of fonts but restricting myself to only two because too many fonts
may confuse the reader and may not be coherent. I will stick to Arial and Franklin gothic.
Because these fonts have been used already the reader will be use to the font
throughout the magazine. I will use size 16 or 12 for my writing depending on the space
I have in the article and where I place my text.

  • 6. WHAT stories will you be including in your Contents Page and HOW will they be related to the images? I will be including interviews with artists and music reviews. I will make sure all stories and interviews relate to the music Genre. I will have success stories such as how up and coming music artists have achieved their goals and advice they could give to others . All my images will be relating to the stories they will also feature captions.

  • 11. HOW will you make your Contents Page easy for your audience to find the major cover story or other stories? As shown in the previous slide my contents page will include large numbers and captions indicating the page numbers and what the picture is about . Also there is a folio that follows on in every page within the magazine, this makes it easier for the audience to find cover stories and other stories. I may also exaggerate the cover story on the contents page to get my reader to read it first.
  • 12. WHAT type of fonts and font sizes will you be using for your Contents Page and WHY? I will be using a range of fonts but restricting myself to only two because too many fonts may confuse the reader and may not be coherent. I will stick to Arial and Franklin gothic. Because these fonts have been used already the reader will be use to the font throughout the magazine. I will use size 16 or 12 for my writing depending on the space I have in the article and where I place my text.
