3. Here I am starting my design of my
contents page on In Design. I've used a
blank A4 page with 2 columns . On the
side I've added the Contents page title
vertically to the left side of the page. I'm
currently following my contents page
draft. I’ve made sure the writing is bold so
that it is visible to everyone that its the
headline. I’ve broken typical magazine
conventions by putting the headline
vertically. I’ve done this in order to
capture my audiences attention when
they look at the page. Also to just be
unique.
4. Here you can see I've added to my
contents page. I have added my
selling line and my welcome
message to my readers. I’ve also
included a folio to link my
Contents page and front cover. I
will include a page number and
add images to my contents page
soon. At this stage I’m just placing
everything on the page. I will
reduce the size of the selling line
and align it correctly.
5. Here I have added an image. This
image will represent an article, in
this case my DPS. I will alter this
added a gradient to my ‘Contents’
headline. I will need to add an effect
to create a ‘grime’ theme
throughout the magazine.
6. Here I have added more images and
numbers beside them. I have stuck to my
draft. I’ve also added a new title to
introduce my titles for the rest of the
magazine. I used a different font for the
editors name to imitate a signature. I
have enlarged the images so that it is
clear to my readers.
7. Under the ‘in this issue column I have
listed the other articles included in
this magazine. I need to align it and
space them out because this wont be
clear to the reader. I will also increase
the font size so that it is readable.
8. My headline and my folio ‘UK-G’ have
been made the same colour in order
to coordinate with the theme on the
page. I’ve used the bevel and emboss
tool on in design to enhance my
headline. I’ve also used this technique
on my selling line and my numbers to
create a bold effect.
9. I Have added a black-grey
gradient to my background
to carry on the dark ‘grime’
theme. As you can see my
folio doesn’t fit in with the
background, this is a matter
that can be fixed.
11. This is my first draft of my
double page spread.
The font I have used for my
DPS is impact. I have used this
to make the writing stand out
on the page. Because my DPS
article is an interview I have
made sure the questions and
answers can be distinguished
between the two. That is why I
have coloured the questions in
brown. Notice I have also
introduced a new colour
scheme; brown, orange and
black. This makes the page
more pleasant and colour
coordinated. My folio is my
mast head in a different colour,
I have done this because some
of my pages are white and
therefore the white
background would clash with
the magazine background.

12. Here I have incorporated my ‘wrap

to make my text go around my image.
This makes it easier for my readers to
see and creates a brilliant effect linking
my main image and text page.
