1) Road accidents are one of the leading causes of death worldwide according to the WHO, killing over 1 million people annually. India faces significant issues with road accidents due to rapid motorization.
2) The majority of road accidents in India are attributed to human error by drivers. Other contributing factors include vehicle issues, road conditions, and environmental factors.
3) Preventive measures that could reduce accidents and fatalities include improving road and vehicle safety, enforcing traffic laws, educating drivers and the public, and enhancing emergency response. A multifaceted approach is needed to address this major public health issue.
Road safety in India: Challenges and opportunities (2009)Rohit Sharma
The present report was designed to analyze the traffic safety situation in India, and to identify countermeasures for areas in which the total harm caused by crashes can be substantially and readily reduced. The report focuses on two aspects of traffic safety in India: challenges and opportunities. The first part of the report provides a comprehensive analysis of the current traffic safety situation in India. It is pointed out in this analysis that fatality rates have increased both on highways and in urban areas during the past few years. Theoretical models suggest that the number of fatalities in India is not likely to start to decline for many years to come unless new policies are implemented. Based on the present analysis, the following six areas are identified as having potential for substantially reducing fatalities in India: (1) pedestrians and other non-motorists in urban areas, (2) pedestrians, other non-motorists, and slow vehicles on highways, (3) motorcycles and small cars in urban areas, (4) over-involvement of trucks
and buses, (5) nighttime driving, and (6) wrong-way drivers on divided highways. The second part of the report outlines several promising countermeasures for each of these
six areas. The third part of the report presents a brief comparison of major traffic safety challenges in India and China.

Analysis of Traffic Law Violations and Traffic Accidents with their Enforceme...AI Publications
More than about 1.24 million of people killed each year due to road traffic crashes worldwide. Out of these deaths, more than one fifth occur among pedestrians Promoting the level of road traffic law enforcement plays a great role in reducing traffic crashes. For assessing of traffic law enforcement, the registered data of traffic violation for the years 2015-2017 were taken from the Traffic Police Department to describe the activities of traffic police personnel in enforcing traffic laws. The violations were categorized into four groups: -those related to driving, vehicle, parking and others, and Traffic Law Enforcement into safety and other traffic law enforcement activities. The types of vehicles involved in the violations were categorized as cars, small load vehicles, motor-cycles, Bajaj and other. Traffic Police had registered a total of 77 traffic-law violation in the year 2015,65 in the year 2016, and 86 in the year 2017. Driving violation was the highest registered violation in the three years, and it was slightly higher in 2017. The categories of cars and small load vehicles were the highest registered vehicles in number of violations with in the three years. For motorized two wheeler vehicles the highest number of registered violation in the three years were the one that related to driving. Out of all vehicle related and other violations were registered more commonly for cars in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Design, Modelling & Analysis of Safety Impact Guard for Heavy Duty VehicleAM Publications
The problem of accident is a very acute in highway transportation. Traffic accident leads to loss of life and
property. We cannot avoid accidents completely but impact of accident we can reduce by applying safety measures, safety
instrument. Safety impact guard is one of the safety instruments which can reduce collision impact at rear end collision
when accident occurs. Also provide safety against under ride crashes which is cause due to passenger vehicle collides
with the truck or trailer. Proposed design of safety impact guard includes crushing element as force destroying material.
Because of that when rear end collision is occurs the force or energy or impact is destroyed due to crushing action.
Another aim of this project is to reduce the height of safety impact guard from ground so that the truck under ride
crashes should be avoided. So that we can save the life and prevent the loss of property. The objective of this entire
project would be of possible design of rear impact guard which provides safety against rear end collision.
Influence of Vehicle Inspection Tests on Crashworthiness of School Bus in Nai...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
The vehicle structure, designs and materials on
school bus body crashworthiness as regulated by different
government agencies in bus body building firms was the topic
under research study. In Kenya, thousands of vehicles are
involved in vehicle collisions or crashes every year resulting in
fatal accidents and severe injuries to the passengers. The
specific objective was the influence of vehicle inspection
testson crashworthiness of school bus in Nairobi City County.
This study adopted Dym’s, Suh’s Axiomatic theory. The
pragmatic paradigm and explanatory research design were
used. The target population was 1500 respondents from bus
body building firms and government regulatory institutions.
The sample size was 315 respondents. Questionnaires,
interview schedules and observation were data collection
instruments. Expert judgment was used to establish validity of
the questionnaires. Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient was used to
determine the reliability of the research instrument. The data

Road Safety Audit: A Case Study for Wardha Road in Nagpur CityIJERA Editor
India has a road network of an estimated 3.3 million km, which carries nearly 65 per cent of freight and 85 per
cent of passenger traffic. The road traffic is estimated to be growing at an annual rate of 7-10 per cent, while the
vehicle population is growing at a rate of 12 per cent per year.
A Road Safety Audit (RSA) qualitatively estimates and reports on potential road safety issues and identifies
opportunities for improvements in safety for all road users. The Road Safety Audit consists of safety principles
to the design of a new or a rehabilitated road section, to prevent frequent occurrence of accidents or to reduce
their severity.
In this project analysis of one of the major arterial street of Nagpur city will be undertaken. The location of
interest for the analysis is Wardha Road from Morris College Square to Airport Intersection. The roadway
carries considerable amount of traffic throughout the day and it has number of conflict points such as merging of
traffic from flyover. A detailed analysis of Wardha Road will be carried out from the point of view of safety and
supplemental analysis regarding the traffic growth and accident analysis will also be performed.
The project aims to identify deficiencies, developing mitigating strategies, improving public

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
