India has seen rising road accidents as the number of vehicles has increased dramatically in recent decades while road infrastructure has not kept pace. Over 5 lakh road accidents occurred in India in 2015, resulting in 1.46 lakh deaths. Young people between 15-35 years old account for over half of road accident victims. The top causes of accidents are reckless or drunk driving, speeding, and not wearing seatbelts. The government has created policies and programs focused on education, enforcement, engineering, and emergency response to try to advance road safety in India.

Safety on Indian Roads a Big Challenge.pptEmaan Sharma
In today's world road and transport has become an integral part of every human being. Every body is a road user in one shape or the other. The present transport system has minimized the distances but it has on the other hand increased the life risk. Every year road crashes result in loss of lakhs of lives and serious injuries to crores of people.
In India itself about eighty thousand people are killed in road crashes every year which is 13% of the total fatality all over the world. In most of the cases crashes occurs either due to carelessness or due to lack of road safety awareness of the road user. Hence, road safety education is as essential as any other basic skills of survival.
Roads are an important mode of transport in India. India has a network of over 6,215,797 kms of roads as of 1 December 2021, the 2nd largest road network in the world, after the US. But Driving on Indian roads is like walking on a tight rope. You've got to be really careful with the wheels because of pathetic road conditions that could test the patience of even the most seasoned drivers.
Slide 4 - It comes right after the rainy season when the roads are filled with a unique death trap called potholes. They come in all sizes and forms, from really small ones to ones that can pose a challenge to coal mines when it comes to depth. An interesting fact about potholes is that they’re like icebergs. You only see the surface, it’s almost impossible to gauge their depth until it’s too late. Before you know it, the car is overturned and you’re severely injured or even crushed to death.
One of the reasons for the formation of potholes is continuous, never-ending use of the road by heavy vehicles and lack of maintenance.
Slide 8 - Zoji La Pass - a major link between Ladakh and Kashmir
The blink of an eye could land a vehicle straight down from an altitude of 3,538 meters from the country’s most dreaded roads as it is frightfully narrow and covered in snow sludge round the season.
For instance, there are light, medium and high traffic roads, based on the volume of traffic a road receives. Similarly, you have pedestrian paths, cycle tracks, and motor vehicle roads, classifying roads in terms of the type of traffic a road receives.
In 2018, The national highways comprised 1.94% of the total road network in India. Various state highways constituted 2.97% of the total length of roads. But 30.2 % of total road accidents and 35.7% of all deaths happened in our national highways. State highways were not exactly lagging behind with 25.2% and 26.8% of total accidents and deaths respectively. According to experts, the main causes of road accidents in India are rapid urbanization, poor safety, lack of enforcement, distracted drivers, influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding and a failure to wear seat-belts or helmets.
Overspeeding is the reason for the highest percentage of deaths relating to road accidents. Yet, nobody cares driving a fast car or a bike at fatal speeds.

Road safety and accident prevention in IndiaRohit Sharma
Road accidents are a human tragedy. They involve high human suffering and monetary costs in terms of untimely deaths, injuries and loss of potential income. Although we have undertaken many initiatives and are implementing various road safety improvement program the overall situation as revealed by data is far from satisfactory. During the calendar year 2010, there were close to 5 lakh road accidents in India, which resulted in more than 1.3 lakh persons. These numbers translate intone road accident every minute, and one road accident death every 4 minutes. Unfortunately, more than half the victims are in the economically active age group of 25-65 years. The loss of the main bread winner can be catastrophic.
Road traffic accidents are amenable to remedial action. Many a countries have curbed the menace of road accidents by
adopting a multipronged approach to road safety that encompasses broad range of measures, such as, traffic management, design and quality of road infrastructure, application of intelligent transport system, safer vehicles, law enforcement, effective and quick accident response and care etc. The Government alone cannot tackle road safety problems. There is a need for active involvement of all stake- holders to promote policy reform and implementation of road safety measures.
Addressing road safety is comprehensive manner underscores the need to involve multiple agencies and sectors like health, transport and police. The present study provides the magnitude and various dimensions of road accident in India. The analysis on road accidents in this study will help to create awareness, guidelines and assist in informed decision making on road safety.
Road traffic accidents a major teen killerCPBansal
To bring awareness about this major cause of teen deaths, RTA have many predisposing factors - like road conditions, poor licencing, poor condition of vehicles apart from speed and distracted driving.
An effective road safety management system covers three linked elements: institutional management functions, interventions and results. All countries should ensure that an effective road safety management system is in place.
Epidemiology, prevention and control of road traffic accidentsDr.Hemant Kumar
Road Traffic Accidents(RTAs)are Major Global Health problems and 8th leading cause of death leading to more than 1.2 million deaths and 20-50 million injuries annually. While the situation in many countries in now improving, India still holds the dubious distinction of being only country who faces more than 14 fatalities and 53 injuries every hour due to RTA.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

2. India is a growing country. With the increasing population, the number of vehicles has
expanded in the country during the last one decade. Though road networks also
improved, mounting pressure on roads from expanded vehicle population has
aggravated safety issues. Authentic data about road accidents is not available, still,
preliminary data indicate that Indian roads are witnessing higher incidence of road
accidents.
An accident is defined as an unplanned and uncontrolled event in which action and
reaction of an object or person results in personal injury or damage to the property. A
traffic accident may be explained as failure of the road-vehicle-driver system to perform
one or more operations necessary for completing a trip without any injury or loss.
introduction safety in India
3. Global Scenario
Road transport is the most complex and the most dangerous transportation system.
In recent years, some important and major studies on the subject of road accidents
and fatalities carried out by World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO), Transport
Research Laboratory (TRL), and others have highlighted the growing significance of
road crashes as a cause of death particularly in developing and transitional countries
Road accidents are one of the major causes of death, injury and disability in all over
the world both in developed and developing countries.
in every 1 min, 2 people are killed and 95 people are severely injured or permanently
disabled in traffic accidents worldwide.
4. According to the world health organization (WHO) statistics, 75% of deaths resulted
from traffic accidents occurring in developing countries, although they own only 32%
of the motor vehicles in the world. While the annual fatality per 10,000 vehicles
ranges from 20 to 200 in low or middle income countries, it varies between 1.5 and 5
in industrialized countries. The estimated global economic cost of traffic accidents is
$518 billion per year.
The share of the developing countries is $100 billion which accounts for 1 to
3% of their gross national product
Road deaths and injuries are a global problem of massive proportions. the last three
years, an average of 4,622 persons were killed and about 181,000 persons were
injured on Turkish highways.
5. Status of road accidents in India
One road accident occurs in every one minute and 16 people die in one hour. 40
percent of road accident occurs due to truck and two-wheeler
As per the report on accident death and suicide (2010), l4, 61,757 number of traffic
accidents have occurred in India in which 4, 30,654 road accidents, 2,843 rail road
accidents and 28,260 other railway accidents.
73.3 per cent of road accident occurs in Nagaland, 66.5 per cent in Jammu and
Kashmir, 53.5 per cent in Bihar and 53.5 per cent in Uttar Pradesh occurred. Deaths
in road accident have increased by 5.5 per cent during 2010 compared to 2009 in
India. A large number of accident occurred in Tamil Nadu. In Delhi city 25 per cent
deaths.
Problem much more serious in India : over 5 lakh road accidents in 2015.
6. Findings of Road Accidents in India 2015
During 2015 :
• Total road accidents – 5,01,423
• Road accident deaths - 1,46,133
• Person injured in road accidents – 5,00,279
In Every Hour : 57 Road Accidents take place and 17 Persons killed.
• 28.4 per cent, 24.0 per cent and 47.6 per cent of road accidents on National
Highways, State Highways and Other Roads respectively.
• 54.1% of road accident victims are in the age group of 15 to 35 years.
• Highest share of road accidents accounted by two wheelers (28.8 per cent)
and Cars, Jeeps & Taxis (23.6 per cent)
7. the careless driving and not following the speed regulation ends with an accident and
the lack of awareness and the injured are not following the road rules cause damage
to life. On the technical side, the vehicles must be inspected by experts during the
interval of every trip. Each vehicle has to be out into maintenance service for every
15,000, 30,000 and 45,000 kms besides the regular check up.
Accidents are met with either by the fault of drivers and road users or failure of the
vehicle 8-11 . Talking about human failure depends on the driver fault or the injured
persons fault, the intoxicated state of the driver, fatigue
Importance Of Accident Prevention
8. Road Safety
Road safety has been identified as an essential component which should be integrated in road
management system.
Road safety refers to reduce the risk of a person in accident. Road safety provides safe
environment to all road users. Government organizes different programs regarding road safety
such as driver safety programs, pedestrian safety, child and teenager‟s safety programs, drink
and driving related programs and speed management programs.
Road safety considers risk factors related to the road and its environment, the road user, the
vehicle and emergency services

Transportation is not only playing a pivotal role in modern life but also become critical and
resourceful. Increase of traffic inflow is unavoidable but the out come has to be seriously viewed
in the context of causing accidents. It is remarkable to note that increase of accidents demands
safety. Road traffic accidents are an important cause of death and serious injuries in developed
societies. Road traffic injuries are a major but neglected global public health problem, needing
conservative efforts for effective and sustainable prevention. Of all the systems that people have
to deal with on a daily basis, road transport is the most complex and dangerous one. Road Safety
management seeks to maintain and improve the existing safety of a road network by reducing
crashes and providing a safe road environment for its users to enable its continued use in an
effective and safe manner
