little attention has been devoted to developing efficiency based standards in the design
of plate girders. These efficiency based standards in the form of design charts can
help a designer in the economical design of stiffened plate girders considering
strength and serviceability conditions. Herein, relationships between the design
variables are developed using genetic algorithm (GA) based optimization formulation.
Both transversely stiffened and corrugated web plate girders are considered. The
relationships are further used to develop design charts which can be useful for design
engineers. The design charts are developed considering strength and serviceability
conditions as specified by the IS 800:2007.

Abstract
In the olden days very complicated thing is in the industry is to carry heavy loaded components and lifting from one place to another place, human effort needs lots of energy and it takes more time for same work, there are many huge and large amount of load lifting machine available, in that first started with gantry hoist and gantry cranes with which they carry heavy loads from one place to other, it works so far by the time but it can operate only in open place, in small scale industries it can’t work, during the period the need is new machine which works in small scale industries with good time, the changing the generation with the new technology industries are planned to develop the special purpose machine which is used to lift the heavy loads. Structural analysis of the “Gantry Structure” has been carried out to find the mechanical response of the structure, subjected to applied loads and boundary conditions. The results include deformed shape of the structure, displacements at required locations. Modal analysis done for checking the model, Gravity Loading Applied for different position and checked for the deformation of Solid Beam for different position. Optimization is done to reduce the cost of the structure. The response of the structure got by structural analysis using MSC Nastran.

The main scope of this work comprises detailed review on various methods and procedures adopted by different researchers in Fatigue analysis of commercially used Engine Connecting rod. The objective of conducting fatigue analysis varies from each other like Weight reduction, Cost reduction, Shape optimization and fatigue life calculation at varying boundary conditions and loads. Fatigue analysis has a very dominant position in product design and development as more than 50% of the products, structural failures are due to fatigue concept only. The review have emphasized the importance of conducting the fatigue analysis of the connecting rod to identity its critical points, fatigue life and factor of safety etc., for its better performance and life period extension. Abstract This paper focuses on the study of buckling load on the Tie rod of steering system that undergoes an axial compression. Because of the external factors like road condition, different driving situations, different road adhesion, traffic conditions, vibrations and sudden jerks are sets up in tie rod. Tie rod generally buckle under the action of compressive force due to the large ratio of tie rod length to its radius of gyration. When it becomes worn out, steering will become more difficult and the vehicle will also typically be pulling or dragging to either side. Thus the aim of the project is to analyze tie rod for to improve the mass and buckling load of tie rod and to find out maximum deformation and stress. Present research is divided in two parts. First, to conduct survey amongst the buses, examine the causes of failure and second is to design and analysis to recommend best possible alternatives of Tie Rod with the aid of advanced design tools like CAD.
