An evaluation of jute epoxy-hybrid composite materials for automotive frontal...eSAT Journals
Abstract The present work evaluates the occupant safety and the mechanical behavior of the Jute-Epoxy-Glass hybrid composite materials and to carry out dynamic analysis of an automobile car frontal components like Bumper beam by using Jute-Epoxy-Glass Hybrid composite material by FE approach. In the present study, HYPERMESH and LS-DYNA software is employed to obtain a better composite material. Durability, NVH, Crash safety and Aesthetics are some of the important vehicle attributes that need to be meet the vehicle manufacturer. While the crash safety for NHTSA requires the G level should be less then 40G'S at the occupant seat. Initially manufacturing of 4 ply, 6 ply (Jute-Epoxy) and 5 ply (Jute-Glass-Epoxy) laminates is done and there characterization is done under Quasi static (1mm/min) and Impact High strain rate loading (100mm/min and 200mm/min) for tensile tests. The mechanical properties obtained are set for the existing bumper beam of a meshed model. For bumper beam of a car with a given velocity of 56 km/h according to the NHTSA high speed crash test. For a high speed crash speed test of bumper beam the G levels is taken into consideration so that the G levels acting upon the occupant doesn't cross 40 G'S as safer. The results obtained from high strain rate of 200mm/min tensile tests explore to bumper beam for which G level acting on the occupant is 35 G's for hybrid jute glass epoxy with 6mm thickness which is found to be best suited composite material which is safer for the occupant and also the weight reduction is also considered where conventionally used steel is 6.6 kgs and the hybrid material of Jute-Glass-Epoxy is 2.9 kgs these weight savings leads to fuel efficiency of the car. Explicit Dynamic Analysis of Automotive Bus Body Structure During Catastrophi...Davalsab M.L
According to the Accidents investigation for buses and Automotive, Accidents involving frontal crash creates a vital portion among all bus accidents. Through this sort accidents, front body of the bus structure gets severely damages and this puts the drivers and crew in more injury risk. And most of the frontal crash accidents ends up in the death of the driver, as a result of this, the protection of each the driver and also the crew ought to be ensured within the case of frontal crash accidents. To providing the driver safety is crucial since bus driver is that the key person for keeping the control of the bus within the event of accidents in order to that safety of the passengers are going to be ensured.
Modeling, simulation and optimization analysis of steering knuckle component ...eSAT Journals
Abstract Light weight and low fuel consumption are the two main demands for a vehicle, particularly for a race car. Steering knuckle, as one of the critical components of a race car, is the main subject in the present study. A light weight and optimized design of steering knuckle is proposed to be used for an EIMARace race car; a small high-performance formula-style car, with suitable material selection as well as valid finite element analysis and optimization studies. First part of this study involves modeling of steering knuckles and analysis of the stresses and displacement under actual load conditions. A CAD and FEA software; SolidWorks, is applied for modeling as well as for static analysis studies. Shape optimization is the second part of this study, utilizing solid Thinking software from Altair Engineering packages. The improved design obtained had achieved 45.8% reduction of mass while meeting the strength requirement. Keywords: Steering knuckle, FEA, Optimization, Race car.
In this research work, suitable lightweight material is found for chassis frame by analyzing chassis with different
materials like structural steel, aluminum alloy and Epoxy E-Glass UD composite materials. The selected material should have the
sufficient strength to carry the load coming on to the chassis when it is supporting the vehicle. With reduction in the weight of the
chassis, reduces the overall weight of the vehicle, which leads to the reduction in fuel. Thus, the usage of lightweight materials in
manufacturing of chassis frame has the advantages. The materials used should help in reducing the weight of the vehicle while
maintaining the necessary strength for supporting the expected load acting on the frame under various operating conditions.
ANSYS finite element software is used to analyze the performance of the chassis with different materials. The 3D model of the
chassis frame is developed by SOLIDWORKS software and numerical analysis is carried out by ANSYS. The model of the ladder
frame is developed using generic specifications. The FEM analysis was done on chassis frame for its deformation and stresses by
applying maximum load. The von-misses stresses, strain and deformations of the chassis with structural steel, aluminum alloy and
composite materials are compared. Composite materials are observed to be better with less weight with similar performance. It is
found that composite (E-glass) is more preferable material for chassis frame.
Finite element development and early experimental validations for a three dim...Salvatore Scalera
The main objective of this research activity is to create a simplified FE model of this kind of vehicle useful to simulate collisions against road safety barriers in a wide range of impact conditions.
This presentation is divided into 4 parts.
In the first, data related with run-off-the-road in Italy will be discussed. In the same section, a small review of the European standard on the containment capacity level of road safety barriers will be performed. At last, it will be shown how numerical analysis of vehicles collisions against safety barriers has become a convenient methodology that supports and integrates crash test full scale.
In the second part, the finite element model of the three dimensional virtual model of a bus will be presented and some parts and joints which influence the behavior during a collision will be described in detail.
In the third section, the procedure for the validation of the FE model will be described. To evaluate the general behaviour of the finite element model of the bus, two different impacts were simulated, (i) against a concrete wall and (ii) against an H2-type barrier. The effectiveness of the adopted strategy will be plainly demonstrated.
According with the results obtained simulating the two tests described above and with the good agreement attained between full-scale and simulated outputs, an evaluation of the model will be offered in the last part of this work.
Automotive design with economy and safety has been a great challenge to design engineers. The safety of the
passengers and vehicle during vehicle crashes can be ensured to a certain limit by using good bumpers. Bumper is an
important part of vehicle which acts as one of the safety part of vehicle, now a day’s bumper is used in vehicle which
directly connected to chassis of vehicle. So that when accidents are happened the force that transfer to other parts of
vehicle through linkage There is no mechanism to drop that linkage and to absorb that impact forces. So that the
development of a new bumper system by springs. Spring is used to minimize the impact of accidents and it will
resists or absorbs impact forces. The new bumper system will be design in CATIA and structural analysis is done by
ANSYS. For structural analysis of the bumper materials like Glass mat thermoplastics (GMT), carbon fiber
composite and aluminum B390 materials are used.

Review on Design and Analysis of Front BumperYogeshIJTSRD
Proper design of front bumper is essential in safeguarding engine bay during low impact collisions. The energy absorption characteristics of bumpers should be good enough to absorb impact energy without causing any damage to internal parts. The current research studies the various analysis conducted on front bumper using numerical and experimental techniques to determine the effect of various composite materials, high strength sheet moulding compounds and reinforced rib on improving energy absorption characteristics of bumper. Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
