The document discusses the design of a winch machine for erecting transmission towers. It begins with describing common methods for tower erection and their limitations. It then discusses the finite element method for simulation. The methodology section outlines the analytical design process for the winch drum and shaft based on loading calculations and standards. This includes selecting wire rope specifications and dimensions for the drum and shaft based on the load to be lifted. The analytical design calculations are shown. The design will then be modeled, simulated using finite element analysis, and experimentally tested to validate the simulation results. This will prove the loading conditions and design methodology.
Structural analysis of steering yoke of an automobile for withstanding torsio...eSAT Journals
Abstract
The steering columns in a steering system are one of the main devices of an automobile. It is a very important part to attain stability and
steady movement of the vehicle. It consists of two yokes, one on each shaft, connected by a cross-shaped intermediate member i.e.
spider. Motion transmission system of vehicles consist several components which sometimes encounter unfortunate failures. Some
common reasons for the failures may be manufacturing and design faults, maintenance faults, raw material faults, material processing
faults as well as the user originated faults. In this paper finite element analysis of the component is carried out to find the stress and
displacement of the final product. For modeling of the component, CATIA V5 R17 software is used. Preprocessing work like meshing
and analysis work is carried out in HYPERWORKS software. Using FEA analysis, we can identify the nature and characteristics of
stresses acting on the yoke and also evaluate the influence of the loads/ mass/ geometry/ boundary conditions over the yoke.

Thermostamping simulation for woven thermoplastic composites (PA) with HyperFormAltair
The thermostamping process of thermoplastic composites can be analyzed with simulation software. In addition to the optimization that can be brought to process (defects, raw material quantity …), the main interest is to integrate results from process into the performance simulation. This article presents an approach to simulate thermostamping of thermoplastic composites (PA) with HyperForm.
The material law is identified from Bias test trials, then, the simulation is performed by HyperForm with the solver Radioss or Ls-Dyna. Fiber orientations (for non-linear anisotropic behavior) and defects (global wrinkles, and wrinkles in the thickness, area with failure risk, thickness variation…) are identified and mapped on structural mesh for mechanical simulation.
Based on this approach, several test/simulation comparisons were performed on both static and dynamic. They demonstrate the necessity of considering the process phase, especially for complex geometries.
Regarding advanced application for such simulation tool: Faurecia Automotive Exterior is developing technologies to produce one-shot visible parts (CFRT thermostamping + overmolding injection in one step). This case study is the most challenging application we are working on. Combining thermostamping simulation and one-shot process brings benefits to both sides thanks to cross results on complex application.
Globaly, to improve the prediction of this simulation tool, next steps are the computation of local density; the consideration of thermal exchanges with the mold during the production process; the modelization improvement of boundary conditions during process (woven holding …, frames…).

Analysis of Cabin Mounting Bracket of Truck Using ANSYSinventionjournals
In an automobile industry while designing the components, the most critical aspect considered is the compactness and the weight of the component. The mounting brackets are meant for supporting the structural component and electronic components such as batteries, seats, cabin, chassis, rear body and also it should support the external load such as passenger’s weight. In the initial stage the bracket is designed according to the specifications of the mountings without considering any other factors. Analysis is performed for Existing and New modified designs. The design structure is optimized for its topology and topography. In the present work an attempt has been made to produce optimized design of a mounting bracket. The modeling is carried out in CATIA and meshing with quality is ensured through Hyper Mesh. The analysis is carried out using ANSYS by the objective function as shape and topology and the weighting function as weight, and constraints are on deflection and stresses induced.

Finite element analysis of center pin and bracket of jig fixture assembly ijm...Dr.Vikas Deulgaonkar
The manufacturing industry caters the range of products to satisfy the ever changing market needs.
To overcome the increasing production demands, the industry implies various techniques. We need a technique for
increasing the production of drilling two holes on a Railway Pinion, improve the quality of product and reduce the
operation time. This project aims to design the Jig and Fixture for the same. The 3-dimensional Computer Aided Model
of the components is made using CATIA V5-R21 software. To study the behavior of component, simulation is carried out.
Preprocessing of the CAD model is carried in Hypermesh software. Boundary conditions are applied using physical
situations of the components. Finite element analysis of the components is done, and the results obtained are compared
with the theoretical analysis and also with the available literature. The stresses and deformations are found within desired limits. Using FE analysis, the parts are manufactured and assembled.

Hybrid optimization of pumped hydro system and solar- Engr. Abdul-Azeez.pdffxintegritypublishin
Advancements in technology unveil a myriad of electrical and electronic breakthroughs geared towards efficiently harnessing limited resources to meet human energy demands. The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
