This document presents a numerical analysis of pre-cast reinforced concrete dapped end beams using finite element modeling. A two-dimensional finite element model was created using ABAQUS software to study the behavior of dapped end beams under static loading. The model used concrete damaged plasticity and embedded truss elements to model the concrete and reinforcing steel. The behavior of the modeled beams was validated by comparing results to previous experimental studies. The finite element analysis found good agreement with test data, indicating it can accurately model the load-deflection behavior of dapped end beams.
Study of Structural Behaviour of Gravity Dam with Various Features of Gallery...IDES Editor
The size and shape of opening in dam causes the
stress concentration, it also causes the stress variation in the
rest of the dam cross section. The gravity method of the analysis
does not consider the size of opening and the elastic property
of dam material. Thus the objective of study is comprises of
the Finite Element Method which considers the size of
opening, elastic property of material, and stress distribution
because of geometric discontinuity in cross section of dam.
Stress concentration inside the dam increases with the opening
in dam which results in the failure of dam. Hence it is
necessary to analyses large opening inside the dam. By making
the percentage area of opening constant and varying size and
shape of opening the analysis is carried out. For this purpose
a section of Koyna Dam is considered. Dam is defined as a
plane strain element in FEM, based on geometry and loading
condition. Thus this available information specified our path
of approach to carry out 2D plane strain analysis. The results
obtained are then compared mutually to get most efficient
way of providing large opening in the gravity dam.

EShape Optimization Of A Suspension Bellcrank Using 3d Finite Element MethodsIJERA Editor
The paper represents an application of an optimization procedure for a mass and stress optimization of the bellcrank of a double wishbone suspension system of SRM University’s FormulaSAE vehicle. The used optimization procedure, so-called Fully Stressed Design, is based on an indirect approach utilizing optimum criteria. The aim of the optimization was to achieve the lowest possible mass of the construction taking into consideration the allowed resistance and also to investigate and analyze the structural stress distribution of bellcrank at the real time condition during damping process and the spring actuation.

Dynamic Modulus Master Curve Construction Using Christensen-Anderson-Marastea...IJERA Editor
Dynamic modulus is a fundamental property used in most mechanistic analysis of pavement response as well as material input for design of flexible pavement. Correspondingly, the E* of HMA master curve incorporated time and temperature effects. The aim of this study is to obtain dynamic modulus and phase angle data using the Christensen-Anderson-Marasteanu (CAM) model based on master curve. Samples were prepared according to the AASHTO TP 62-03 Standard Test Method for Determining Dynamic Modulus of Hot-Mix Asphalt Concrete Mixtures. The results show that the dynamic modulus is decreasing with increase of temperature for all mixtures while it is opposite trend with the phase angle. In terms of resistance of rutting, the JAPAN AC-20 is a good potential mix at frequency of 25 and 10 Hz while USA and JAPAN AC-13 mixes are good for fatigue resistance at same frequency respectively. From the Goodness-of-fit statistics, all the mixture gave an excellent correlation when R^2≥0.90 and Se/Sy ≤0.35. Nonetheless, the correlation coefficient R^2 is not always a reliable coefficient to measure the Goodness-of-fit for nonlinear regression analysis. Furthermore, they may have local or overall biases in the predictions that can reduce significantly its accuracy under certain conditions.
Finite element analysis of innovative solutions of precast concrete beamcolum...Franco Bontempi
Especially to precast concrete structure connections are one of the most essential parts. Connections transfer forces between precast members, so the interaction between precast units is obtained. They are generally the
weakest link in the structure. An acceptable performance of precast concrete structure depends especially on the
appropriate kind of connections choice, adequate detailing of components and design of the connections is fundamental. It is interesting to study the behavior of connecting elements and to compare different solutions of ductile connections for precast concrete structures in case of horizontal applied force and vertical imposed displacement, as well as those produced by hazards situation, like that earthquake and explosion, whereby topics of structure robustness are carried out. The case of study is an innovative dissipative system of connection between precast concrete elements, usable for buildings and bridges, the investigation of these topics is carried out by F.E.A. by program DIANA with comparison with results obtained independently with ASTER.

Behavior of RC Beams Retrofitted/Strengthened With External Post-Tension SystemINFOGAIN PUBLICATION
This paper presents a study on the flexural behavior of strengthened RC beams using external post-tensioning technique under the effect of cyclic loads. Post tensioning techniques is a new method to improve the behavior of cracked and sound beams. This new technique was used in this research to improve the behavior of cracked and un-cracked beams. The study consists of two stages, the first stage is an experimental program which is carried out in lap to test casted beams, and the second stage is a theoretical program which was carried out to verify the results of experimental program. The behavior of RC beams in different levels of cracks was studied, crack pattern was observed and failure type was recorded. Comparisons between the behaviors of different RC beams were performed. The experimental study included using of prestressing steel bars, GFRP bars and the effect of different percentage of shear reinforcement was also taken into consideration. Specimens were tested under the effect of cyclic load. Finally the simulations of tested beams were modeled in finite element software (ANSYS) to verify the results of experimental work compared to theoretical analysis.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
