This document analyzes and compares the thermal performance of disc brakes made from four materials: gray cast iron, stainless steel, silicon carbide composite, and titanium 550 alloy. A disc brake model is created in CATIA V5 and analyzed in ANSYS for equivalent stress, total deformation, and steady-state temperature distribution. Titanium 550 alloy performs the best with the lowest deformation and stress levels and temperature when subjected to simulated braking loads. In conclusion, titanium 550 alloy is identified as the best material for disc brakes based on the thermal and structural analysis results.
Design, Analysis and Manufacturing of Braking system for an Universal Terrain...EditorIJAERD
The paper represents the designing, analyzing and fabrication of braking system as well as suspension
system for a Universal terrain vehicle that too being inside the constraints in the Rulebook provided by Rally Car Design
Challenge.
The main idea behind braking system is to design, analyze as well as to simulate the Hydraulic disc type of brakes
installed on a Universal Terrain Vehicle. An UTV as the name suggests is designed to handle a vast variety of terrain
than that of other conventional vehicles. The Braking system which is the most important constraint for handling has
undergone a substantial amount of development in the past. Thus, the topic is focused on designing a form of mentioned
braking system incorporating dynamics of the vehicle with providing optimum performance of the vehicle while
minimizing driver’s efforts.
Parameters like Dynamic weight transfer, Static weight distribution ratio, Pedal force, and etcetera were evaluated to
attain the desired performance. As an UTV has to be stopped or slowed down more often in rough terrains, ability of the
vehicle to stop efficiently and in adequate time becomes imperative. The calipers were selected by using required
calculations and chosen from the systems available in market, the calculations were then validated using CATIA. The
design of Brake Discs were decided using the required calculations and also the caliper mountings on SOLIDWORKS
and will be manufactured later. The component designs are analyzed in ANSYS and checked whether they are compatible
for our vehicle.

An Experimental and Theoretical Analysis & Modification of a Shock Absorber o...IJSRD
A suspension system or shock absorber is a mechanical device designed to smooth out or damp shock impulse, and dissipate kinetic energy. The shock absorbers duty is to absorb or dissipate energy and the helical spring is the most common element that has been used in suspension system. In this present study Non alloy steel helical spring will be used to suspend vehicle system. The uniform loading effect has been studied and Experimental, FEA analysis will be compared with analytical solution. Afterwards, the analysis will be done by considering different parameters. Experimental analysis will be done to validate the strength and modal analysis is done to determine the displacements for different loading condi-tion. Comparison is done by changing the wire diameter of the coil spring to check the best dimension for the spring in shock absorber. Modeling and Analysis is done by using Pro/ENGINEER and ANSYS respe240
It is obvious that vehicle weight has a linear relationship
with the energy to be dissipated (stored) and the change
in velocity required has a exponential relationship.
• Deceleration times and stopping distances vary
somewhat for all vehicles on a given road surface.
• It should then be obvious that sizing the brake system
components has critical importance with respect to the
potential vehicle velocity and the mass of the vehicle.
• Note that heavy trucks generally have greater stopping
distances as compared to typical passenger cars.

Design analysis of the roll cage for all terrain vehicleeSAT Journals
Abstract We have tried to design an all terrain vehicle that meets international standards and is also cost effective at the same time. We have focused on every point of roll cage to improve the performance of vehicle without failure of roll cage. We began the task of designing by conducting extensive research of ATV roll cage through finite element analysis. A roll cage is a skeleton of an ATV. The roll cage not only forms the structural base but also a 3-D shell surrounding the occupant which protects the occupant in case of impact and roll over incidents. The roll cage also adds to the aesthetics of a vehicle. The design and development comprises of material selection, chassis and frame design, cross section determination, determining strength requirements of roll cage, stress analysis and simulations to test the ATV against failure. Development of Software Using Matlab for Design Optimization of Brake for Min...iosrjce
Mini bikes are normally preferred by for their light weight. Hence attention needs to be focused on
weight while configuring each and every key element like brake, gear box, engine, clutchs etc. Design
optimization of brake for one such mini brake has been taken up in this work. To start with, mathematical model
of the brake has been established so as to bring out the relation between key parameters of the design and the
same has been used in the later stage so as to formulate the optimization strategy. Configuring the brake by
choosing restraining value of width of brake lining in place of choosing restraining value of size of brake drum
yielded to reduction of volume and hence weight. Optimized design lead to increased area of lining which in
turn will reduce dissipation of energy per unit area. Accordingly it has bagged additional merits like reduction
in operating temperature and wear. Further a general purpose software has been developed using MATLAB for
design optimization of brake. For accomplishing this, formulation has been transformed in form of a code in
MATLAB. Programme has been written with interactive mode of operation which means upon executing the
programme it prompts the user to enter the value of inputs and subsequently it generates the outputs.
In the existing automobile market which is growing, the competition for better automobile in climbing up enormously. The racing fans involved will surely know the importance of a good brake system not only for safety but also for staying competitive in every race though Brake is the key factor for safety. Braking is a process which converts the kinetic energy of the automobile into mechanical energy for arresting the rotation of the road wheels which must be dissipated in the form of heat.
Design and Analysis of Go Kart Chassis for Front, Side and Rear Impactijtsrd
This paper deals with Go kart chassis building with the help of modelling software CATIA V15 and analysis of the same for front, side and rear impact. The cassis has been designed for light weight profile and engine mounting of capacity 135cc. The go kart vehicle is meant for participation in various Go kart event organized all over the India. The preliminary test for these events is checking of 3 D model of the chassis frame and analysis of the same chassis frame under front, side and rear impact. During collision the chassis is under impact loading conditions so it has to be thoroughly analyzed for impact loads. The studies found below shades some light on how the chassis behaves under impact loading conditions. Chassis is made up of a tubular cross section pipe, fabricated assembly of EN8 grade and a few other grades. In this kart, we have used EN8 class tube with 1 inch diameter and 1.5 mm wall thickness. The results obtained for permissible stresses, Factor of safety and deformation are found to be well within range. This makes the chassis suitable for Go kart events. The main criteria that has been focused here is maximum deformation and stress. The stresses should be well within Von mises stress range and so as the Factor of safety. After analysis, both are found to be well within range. CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
