So what is this project? What does it do? Basically this is a soil moisture monitoring system, which detects if the moisture content in the soil is above or below a certain satisfactory threshold value. If it goes below a certain critical point, it is time to water the plant until the soil surrounding the plant is moist enough. An arrangement of a DC motor relay is used to control the watering mechanism.

The population of India has reached beyond 1.2 billion. If the population goes on increasing with the present rate then after 25-30 years there will be a serious problem of food, so in order to meet the demand of food one has to give more emphasis on the development of agriculture. Today, man has occupied all the suitable land but the land located far away from the human settlement is not developed properly and not utilized fully because it requires more manpower, time and expenditure. But now a days it is possible to pay more attention with the help of modern available controlled devices like computer, microprocessor, sensor, integrated circuits and microcontroller.
In the present work a Microcontroller based controlled remote irrigation system is developed for the agricultural plantation. The developed system is placed at the remote location and required water provides for plantation whenever the humidity of the soil goes below the set-point value. Humidity sensor provides proportional amount of output with change in humidity, which is compared, to the set-point and the data is taken through the channel. If the set-point data is high, then after motor is turned ON, which provides water to the plant till the humidity goes above set-point value. After reaching the humidity above set-point value motor is turned OFF and scans the next channel. This provides right amount of water at right time. The required software program is developed in assembly level language.

The objective of the developed system is to encourage the efficient water management practices that optimize the usage of water by keeping the crop health and yield intact through the implementation of automated irrigation system. The microcontroller-based solution consists of distributed wireless network (WSN), base or control station and user interface. Each sensor node will have soil-moisture, temperature and humidity sensors placed in the farmland. These WSNs are powered by battery. Base station will collect the sensor information through the use of RF transceiver. An algorithm is developed to monitor soil-moisture and temperature to control the water volume depending upon the set threshold. Base station also sends the sensor information to remote database for logging through Wi-Fi interface. Web application is developed that enables the user for remote monitoring of data and control certain parameters like soil moisture threshold, manual override of water flow, etc.
Automation of irrigatioonitoring using tcp server appSandeepMaurya88
In this project we are targeting most common problems prevailing in today’s agro industry having a bit expensive solutions such as fencing for protection from stray cattle, firefighting techniques, smart irrigation integrated with rain water conservation etc.
We’ve employed laser + LDR smart fence, which will automatically detect any kind of the intrusion in the employed are. As soon as it will detect intrusion, it will raise an alarm of very high pitch, which will cause the animals to immediately.
In summer times fire in the fields is a very common scenario. To tackle this problem we are employing a temperature sensor, on the corners of the fields, will continuously monitor the temperature, and as soon as it will cross the threshold, the irrigation system will automatically be turned on to extinguish the fire.
A soil moisture sensor is also installed in this project so as to monitor the temperature and moisture content in the soil, and can monitored through remote locations through IoT. Smart irrigation includes switching of motor from remote locations, automatic switching off of system if left on after the desired work is done.
Rain detection system is also installed to turn off the irrigation system if it starts raining when it is on, in order to save ground water. It is also a part of smart irrigation system in order to conserve ground water.
And to interconnect the microcontroller with all the sensor and the user, internet is used
i.e. IoT technology is used here to achieve the desired targets.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
