Ijeee 33-36-surveillance system for coal mines based on wireless sensor networkKumar Goud
Abstract: The foremost critical task for coal mine is of keeping track of miners spread out across a large mining areas .It becomes even difficult when mine tunnels collapse. Many mines use a radio system to track miners, but when a collapse occurs, the base stations connected by a thin wire often are rendered useless. In this project to overcome the demerits of radio system we used wireless technology for tracking the miners. For this purpose a small RF transmitter module is equipped to each person entering a mine. Each transceiver placed in the mine look after the location of miners. The transceivers communicate with base stations through Zigbee module. In addition of tracking the location of miners we also include sensors such as temperature & humidity to intimate the base station & miners when some atmosphere changes occur. Mine operators are now able to monitor the real-time locations of each miner to better pinpoint their locations in the event of an emergency. Even after a full-day of use, mine operators can locate an individual miner within ten feet.
Key Words: Wireless sensor networks (WSN), ZIGBEE, and LPC2148.
Nowadays every system is automated in order to face new challenges. In the present days, Automated systems have less manual operations, flexibility, reliability and accurate. Due to this demand, every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of electronics automated systems are giving good performance in industries and on roads. The mechanical arrangement is arranged to the robot as a robotic car using solar energy. This project handles with two operations. One hand Autonomous, based on sensor application robotic car moves itself by avoiding an obstacle and to move in its paths. It explains the method of interfacing solar panel, relay circuit board, IR sensor to the car and how to send the command to the microcontroller to drive the car autonomously. On the other hand, it controls using BLUETOOTH modem, in order to control the robotic car using BLUETOOTH, the user has to send the predefined messages to the modem. When the modem receives these predefined messages, it intimates the same to the microcontroller. The microcontroller upon receiving the information from the modem acts in accordance with the message, making it a highly automated application.
My solution for this involves IoT device fixed on the safety jacket which is called Smart safety jacket. The Smart Safety Jacket enables complete safety of the employees working in mining and construction industries by installing a different type of sensors like Temperature sensor, Humidity sensor, Ultrasonic sensor, Motion sensor, Gas sensor, Sound sensor, RFID, Emergency Panel, and Notification Panel. These sensors connected to the network through Wi-Fi makes more relevant and valuable ever than before. In case of emergency, immediate notification will be sent to an admin who is monitoring entire miners in the mining industry and immediate action will be taken to rescue miner from the hazard.
The whole process can be stated in two points.
1. The miner has to wear the smart safety jacket (connected with the sensors) which is connected to the control room via a network.
2. A Monitor in the control room who is continuously monitoring the miners and the mining site should check the hazard status and alert and rescue the miners in case of any critical situation.
Thus the mining environment and miners will be protected from the hazard.
With the advent of technology, life has become faster in pace and shorter in interactions, with others, as well as with the surroundings. In such a scenario, there is a need to have an endeavor to have everything at the push of a button away, and more importantly, automated. Home Automation is such an endeavor, in which, all the electrical appliances present at home are connected to each other, having interactions with sensors placed at strategic positions in a closed loop manner in order to perform meager tasks automatically, leaving less burden on the humans. With this project we are promoting the fact that Home Automation can greatly contribute to energy conservation too.
Arduino based Real Time Clock with Ringing of Bell and National Anthemrahulmonikasharma
Now a days many school and college bells are operated manually. Hence there is a huge demand of accuracy is required. In market there are many digital clocks available with bells but rings only at specific time and cannot stop after that specific time. A new and inexpensive design is being presented here, in this project. The benefit of this design is that, the bell rings at the start of each period without any human intervention and hence takes over the manual task of switching on/off the college bell with respect to time. It uses Real Time Clock (DS1307) which work at the real time. The Arduino UNO is used to control all the functions; it gets the time through the keypad and stores it in its memory and display it on LCD display. When this programmed time equals the real time then the bell is switched on via a relay and rings for a predetermined time. The bell ringing time can be edited at any time, so that it can be reused at normal class timings as well as at exam times. Also the voice play module with USB player and speaker, play the national anthem according to the users given time as programmed using Arduino UNO.
This is to design a circuit such that one can control home or industrial appliance using the help of remote. This circuit can be used to any of your home appliances (lamp, fan, radio, etc.) to make the appliance turn on/off from a TV remote control.
Using remote to control appliances reduces human efforts without compromising on efficiency. It also saves time. Infrared (IR) light is an electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength longer than that of visible light, measured from the nominal edge of visible red light at 0.7 μm and extending conventionally to 300 μm,. These radiations with a frequency below our eyes sensitivity cannot be seen, but can only be felt by our skin temperature sensors. Infrared is interesting, because it is easily generated and doesn't suffer electromagnetic interference and so it is widely used in communication and control circuits. The adventure of using lots of infrared in TV remote controls helped engineers to work on innovative projects like controlling home appliances using TV remotes etc. Receiver in the circuit receives pulsed IR rays from the remote and decoded signal is thus received by relay driver whose output activates the corresponding home appliance. According to this, it makes sense that the logical direction about managing home appliances (HASs) in the near future is going to be by means of a remote control. But wireless technologies in domestics should be implemented carefully.

Contactless digital tachometer using microcontroller IJECEIAES
Tachometer is a device that used for counting or for the measuring purpose of the number of revolutions (that is the total number rotations made by the device in unit of measuring time) of an object in unit time. It is expressed in the unit of RPS or RPM, the model uses a set of infrared transducer receiver to count the RPM pulses, and the Arduino microcontroller is used for the implementation of the project. The individual pulses are counted by the microcontroller to give the final output of the RPM.
Design Efficient Wireless Monitoring Platform for Recycling Point SpotsIJMTST Journal
There is a growing demand for low cost, very low power and reduced size monitoring systems with
wireless communications, to be used in different kinds of industrial environments. In several countries waste
separation and recycling is a major issue. Consequently, the number of recycling spots has been steadily
increasing. In order to ensure that recycle bins are properly maintained, several monitoring solutions have
been proposed. These still have several limitations, such as requiring wires for power and/or communications
and not being able to fit in all existing types of bins. This paper presents WECO, a wireless embedded solution
for monitoring the level of the bins located in recycling spots. The proposed system automatically alerts a
remote central station when a bin reaches a programmable filling level, thus avoiding the need to spot check
if the bin is full and ensuring that the recycling spot is kept clean. The developed prototype required
hardware-software co-design and aimed to meet the above mentioned requirements, resorting to the IEEE
802.15.4 protocol for wireless communications between all nodes in the network, each based on a
System-On-Chip CC2530 from Texas Instruments. Due to its wireless nature, the architecture requires a
battery for power supplying the nodes, with a life time of at least six years. The filling level readings of each
bin in a recycling spot are made using an ultrasonic sensor. The data collected by the monitoring platform is
then sent to the remote central station that processes it in order to optimize routes and establish a scheduled
collection of the recycling spots.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
