In the most simplest terms, composition is how different elements of a photo are arranged. You as the photographer get to decide how many elements you choose to include in your shot. It could be many or a few elements. Composition is also how you as an artists choose to arrange the elements in the frame. In this lesson you will get an introduction to composition and what it means for video.

Film Language: Camera angles and shot size introduction for Film Studies. Als...Ian Moreno-Melgar
A long PDF that has been used to introduce GCSE Film Students to the complicated process of identifying and explaining the use of camera shot sizes and angles. This is a fairly detailed series of slides which I have used in school for a couple of classes now. As it is a PDF the clips do not play but where possible I've labelled what the film is. Similarly, as it was designed to be used in lessons the overall 'structure' is somewhat disjointed and is missing slides that includes answers or ideas that were discussed in lessons. In order to help where possible, I've included large versions of worksheets so that these can be clipped and printed out if necessary. Many thanks for taking a look and please feel free to take a look at my other uploads as you will find plenty there on other aspects of Film Studies.
Color: Relationships and Perceptions of ColorTroy Tarpley
Color can convey a mood, describe reality, or codify information. Words like “gloomy”, drab” and glittering” each bring to mind a general climate of colors, a palette of relationships. Designers use color to make something stand out, for example light a yield sign or warning sign. Designers also use colors to make other things disappear, like camouflage. Color serves to differentiate and connect, to highlight and to hide.
Case studies can be a useful resource to help understand a subject by gaining concrete, contextual and in-depth knowledge. In this lecture you will learn more about case studies, when to use them, and how to conduct them.
Agricultural Media Convergence: Course IntroductionTroy Tarpley
Welcome to the first lecture of AGRI 4094, Agricultural Media Convergence. In this lecture you will learn what you need to do in order to be successful in the course.
For most with some knowledge of photography or design, the rule of thirds is the first composition or design rule that they learned about. And that is for good reason. It is a solid rule that has been around for a long time. In this lesson you will explore the rule, how it relates to videography, and how to break the rule.

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Introduction to Composition
1.
2. Describe the
purpose of
composition rules
in filmmaking.
Choose when to
break
composition or
when to
implement them.
Create photos
with varying
compositions.
3. The Camera as a Tool
• Window to the world which you control
• Your viewers will only see what you decide to show them
• selectivity is the basis of all camera work
4.
5. Bridging the Gap
• Images can carry far more weight than words
• The audience will know exactly how they are supposed to feel without a need
for expositional dialogue
• Images work on a visceral level
6. Looking at Movie in a New Way
• After this class, entering into “dreamland” during movies will become more
difficult.
• The state where you are no longer focused on reality but rather fully engrossed in the
film.
• The better a filmmaker you become, the harder it will be for you to tune out
your inner director.
7. Composition
• Strong understanding of composition
• the placement or arrangements of elements in a work of art.
• All art forms have some type of composition
8. Important Elements in Video Composition
• Common elements of composition in film are:
• placements of actors,
• placement of cameras,
• camera height,
• headroom,
• and looking room,
• but there are many more.
9. Breaking the Rules
• There are many "rules" of composition
• You break these rules!
• However, just like anything else, you must understand the rules in order to
break them with purpose.
10. Where to Start
• You need to start with simply understanding how to compose your frames.
• The majority of your scenes don't call for groundbreaking composition.
11. Describe the
purpose of
composition rules
in filmmaking.
Choose when to
break
composition or
when to
implement them.
Create photos
with varying
compositions.
