4. Close Ups
•Close ups are a standard shot where the camera is
very near/close to.
•This is one of the main shots in pop music videos as it
helps to establish the emotion of the artist/character
in the video

6. Mid Shots
•Mid shots are shots that show a person from the
waist up.
•This allows some of the location to be seen but
also without showing too much of the characters
emotion

8. Long Shot
•A long shot shows the whole body of the
character.
•This shot doesn’t show much detail of the
character so emotion is shown through the body
language rather than the facial expressions

10. Low Angle
•A low angle shot is where the camera is looking up
•This can be used as a point of view shot where the
character is seen to be more submissive where as the
character in shot is more dominant

12. High Angle
•A high angle shot is where the camera is looking down
on something
•This usually suggests that the person in shot is in a
submissive role and has less power
•In some pop music videos it can also be used to show
distance (example on next slide)
