Babe Ruth s The Great Bambino Does It Again !
1928
The Great Bambino Does It Again! Babe Ruth has been absolutely outstanding so far in his young
career. He has broken multiple records and has won multiple championships and he isn t looking to
stop now. He loves the game of baseball. He has said, The only real game, I think, in the world is
baseball. This shows how much passion he plays with when doing the thing he loves.
Babe hasn t always had this kind of love for the game though. His real name was George Herman
Ruth Jr. As a young child he was one of eight children. His sister and him were the only ones to
survive from all of the kids. At age seven he could be found often chewing, smoking, and drinking.
This forced his parents to send him to St. Mary s School for boys. This is ... Show more content on

He was the main cause for most of them. He has set numerous records and is something the game of
baseball hasn t saw yet. He broke the most pitched scoreless innings while he was with the Red Sox.
He threw 13 scoreless innings straight. Then with the Yankees he is breaking his own home run record
over and over and over again. He first broke the record in 1920 by hitting 54 home runs. His teammate
Bill Dickey said, He hits the ball harder and further than any man I ever saw. Then the following year
he broke his own record and hit 59 home runs. Then only two years ago he shocked the game of
baseball again by hitting 60 home runs. The reason for hitting so many home runs is because he s
looking to hit so many home runs. He said, If I d tried for them dinky singles I could ve betted around
six hundred. He is looking towards this season to break yet another record. Maybe even his

Benefits Of A Uniformed School Day
A Uniformed School Day Uniforms have been a key element in promoting a successful, safe and
unified establishment. Those successful establishments could possibly include a private high school, a
sporting team, or even a business. Typically, private schools enforce the policy that a uniform most be
worn by all enrolled students. But why hasn t the majority of traditional public schools, developed
uniform policies? Benefits of uniforms within schools may include, students feeling more professional
and successful. In addition, educators and experts believe uniforms have a resounding impact on how
students act in the classroom. While wearing uniforms, students pay more attention to learning rather
than trendy clothing (Kouzmine). These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Uniform policies should begin to be mandatory for junior high students through the end of the high
school tenure. A traditional school uniform may include, White button down shirts and ties for boys,
pleated skirts for girls and blazers adorned with the school logo for all. Another school may simply
require that all shirts have collars (Wilde). This simple and built to last outfit can help students stay
focused on education rather than worrying about their clothing choices. Politician and former
presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, believes introducing school uniforms is a productive way to
implement the focus on learning and limit the attention on what the students are wearing ( Should
Students ). With uniforms, discipline is put into place as fewer debates occur between parents and
children regarding what the child will be wearing to school (Kouzmine). School uniforms are not just
easier for parents, the uniforms also make mornings easier for students. Along with reducing
arguments and stress, school uniforms encourage unity in the halls while providing discipline.
Uniforms in schools could help make the school a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Unfortunately, hazing is a major problem among students in schools. A large sum of bullying would be
decreased if all students wore a similar outfit to school each day. Research conducted by the

Evaluating Compliance Strategies in Medical Billing and...
In the medical billing and coding process there are several steps. In the medical billing process
physicians prepare and sign documentation of the patients visit. The next step is to post the medical
codes and transactions of the patients visit in the practice management program and to prepare claims.
The process used to generate claims must comply with the rules imposed by federal and state laws as
well as with payer requirements. Claims that are correct help to reduce the chance of an investigation
of the practice for fraud and also the risk of liability if an investigation does occur (Valerius, Bayes,
Newby Seggern, 2008). Most physicians depend on their personnel to process their medical bills
without looking at the bills before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite all of the errors that can occur during the medical coding and billing process there are a few
strategies that could help avoid these problems. These strategies include; avoiding unbundling (billers
and coders must be clear on what individual procedures are contained in bundled codes), be clear on
professional courtesy and discounts to uninsured or low income patients (professional courtesy occurs
when a physician chooses to ignore the charges for service to other physicians and their families),
benchmarks the practices E/M codes with national averages, use modifiers appropriately (CPT
modifiers can eliminate any impression of duplicated billing or unbundling), and maintaining
complaint job reference aids and documentation templates. These simple steps can help avoid billing
and coding errors.
Linking procedures in the correct way and diagnoses avoids denial of payments and avoids the
possible consequences that can occur due to billing incorrectly. The consequences that could possibly
occur because of billing incorrectly are things such as; delays in processing claims

How Did Queen Elizabeth 1 Make England A Better Place
Queen Elizabeth 1: Made England a better place As Queen Elizabeth arrived at the Tower of London
she said Her lands as true as a subject, being prisoner, as ever landing at these stairs. Before Thee, O
God, I speak it, having none other friends but Thee alone (Elizabeth i quotes.) This quote shows that
Queen Elizabeth was very lonely and innocent at the Tower of London as a prisoner. Queen Elizabeth
1 made England a better place while in rule. Before becoming Queen, Elizabeth was a princess. On
September 7, 1533 Queen Elizabeth was born to a King and Queen in England (Biography queen

art of public speaking, which was most significant later in her life (Biography queen elizabeth 1). ...

The Influence Of Life In Colonial America
Daily life during the colonial American days was were rough and began the marking period for
America. The colonial period set the stage for what we have today in American history such as what
we grow and where we grow them. Anything from the clothing made to the foods we grow has been
discovered during the colonial period. The start of the colonial period stood for rough livelihood by
1774 the ability to sustain life had been reached and reflects some parts of the modern world today. As
for the Virginia Colony of 1775 there were millions of people living in the colonies and there were
about 500,000 living in Virginia. Based off of those numbers we can see that Virginia was a popular
place to be, Virginia was not full of wealthy people such as planters and merchants but there were a
small significant amount that stood at two percent lived in cities such as Richmond, Williamsburg, and
Fredericksburg. There were about 200,000 people living in Virginia where enslaved African
Americans, they worked in tobacco fields. Life for the slaves was considered cruel and working from

Solar And Wind Power Is The Best Choice For Many Scientists
Nowadays, environment and health scientists are concerned largely because of the damages caused by
conventional energy. In most cases, these damages are happened because people are more likely to use
fossil energy instead of renewable energy. In 1991, the worst disaster happened in the Arabian Gulf,
and it was closed to my hometown. It s estimated more than 250,000 seabirds died by oil spill (Laura
Moss, 2010). However, solar and wind power is the best choice for many scientists to preserve the
environment. In the past, renewable power had some difficulties because most of the energy has
obtained from hydroelectric levees, whereas now produce more than quarter of the globe s energy
(reading 1). As well as this, more than 85 of the consumed around the world comes from fossil fuel
energy. Unlike renewable energy, fossil energy notably pollutes our plant. Due to population and other
reasons, renewable energy becomes more popular and getting attention from a lot of people
(reading1). Ultimately, there are some differences and similarities between solar and wind power in
terms of their amount of energy and advantages, and these sources has fundamental way to store their
energy, which is through advanced battery.
The primary important difference and similar between solar and wind power is their amount of energy.
Both of them have different capacity to store and provide the energy. Currently, the significant
different between solar and wind power is the amount of energy

What do you hear? Chaos? Confusion? No, it is the music heard daily as you take walk in the shoes of
an Emergency Room nurse.
II. Motive for Listening
Emergency nursing is a specialized area of nursing overflowing rewarding opportunities. Whether you
choose a career of being a nurse, a paramedic/firefighter, or police officer, people will always be sick,
injured, or in danger. Each of these jobs is constantly seeking trained professionals. III. Credibility
Statement
Since obtaining my Registered Nurse license in 1992, I have practiced full time in the Emergency
Department. Prior to becoming a nurse, I volunteered for three years as an Emergency Medical
Technician with Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad. In addition, my parents were both charter and
life members of the Brunswick Volunteer Rescue Squad. Therefore, through formal research in
conjunction with a lifetime of personal experiences, I have gained and continue to gain a deeper
understanding with appreciation for the self sacrificing compassionate care involved with the career
path for being an ER nurse.
IV. Purpose or Thesis Statement
Emergency nursing extends beyond the basic nursing skills, concepts and reasoning taught in the
classroom; ER nurses must demonstrate critical thinking skills while providing unbiased,
compassionate care while collaborating with other professional disciplines.

Designing A Computer Controlled Machine
Robots, like any computer controlled machine, can be programmed in their movements. But the
production of control data in the form of coded machine instructions requires programming skills as
well as an understanding of robotics concepts such as kinematics, which lie outside most architects
domain of expertise. To address this problem, the custom robot programming library YOUR, which
aims at making robot control intuitively accessible to students, has been implemented. Based on this, a
toolkit of visual programming components for GrasshopperTM, allowing students to directly assemble
graphical components for the control of their robotic fabrication sequences, was developed. The
technologies for controlling robot arms are especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robotic fabrication and computational design augment each other in several ways. In addition to the
direct materialization of digitally conceived designs, the physical working model provides students
with a differentiated and sensual feedback on their design, whereby they can immediately engage with
its constructive and structural aspects. As part of an iterative process, these insights can then be re
integrated into the computational design strategy.
Architectural design practice will be increasingly mediated by digital technology in the future. Digital
fabrication technology allows architects to conceive designs both digitally and physically, and may
empower them to take a more active role in the materialization and construction process.
Nested voids
The robotic fabrication process is based on the integration of non standard element prefabrication and
robotic assembly. The model s walls and floors are laser cut out of cardboard sheets, which are placed
on a custom designed feeder system (left). From there the robot picks the elements (centre), applies
glue and places them directly on the model (right).
Mesh towers
For the final tower model, foam blocks are placed on a specially designed feeder. The robot cuts each
of them differently, optimised to transfer the loads and shaped to accommodate various functions. This

Paul/ Minneapolis, MN.
Throughout the movie there are a couple of themes that arise that I believe need to be addressed
before focusing on how the media holds institutions accountable. The first theme I d like to focus on is
the crisis of Faith. The character Mike, had an interesting and powerful character arc. Once Mike sees
the files that declare the church was guilty of abuse, he loses his religious Faith . This loss of Faith is
especially difficult for a man raised Catholic in one of the most Catholic of cities. The net result is that
Mike doubles down on his secular faith in the journalistic investigative process on which he has
embarked. His drive to get to the truth kicks his faith in the investigation process into an even higher
gear. Further, it s not just an individual s turn, it s an entire generations turn as well to face the crises
of Faith . The priests abuse was horrific. This is and should be a story about the victims permanent
scars. The film also shows how the church s cover up has furthered the very erosion of the institution
they were trying to protect. Mike in that sense stands in for many who lost their Faith in the wake of
the abuse scandal, Faith in the Catholic church, Faith and trust in the Priests who lead and represent
the church, even Faith in God .
Complicity and infallibility in regards to the contrast between the two major institutions, church and

The Osi Reference Model Developed By Iso
The OSI reference model is a seven layer abstract model developed by ISO in 1984. It describes the
standards for inter computer communication that is how data flows from one computer on a network
through wires, cable and routers to another computer in another network. Each layer provides a
framework to explain specific functionalities and the interactions between network components where
the upper layers ( Application, Presentation, Session )mostly work at the software level and the lower
layers(Transport, Network, Data Link and Physical) in the hardware and firmware levels. We will use
data unit flow within the CCU network to illustrate at each layer the association between devices and
software and also the interactions of components between the layers. Layer 1 The Physical Layer The
OSI Physical layer defines electrical, physical and procedural specifications for devices and medium (
cables, connectors, hubs, repeaters, network interfaces cards ) responsible to transport across the
network the bit stream of data. At this layer, Data Units are called bits: Frames from the Data Link
layer are encoded in a series of electrical impulse, light or radio signal and transmitted through a
media (copper, fiber or wireless) across the network to the receiving node. It is also the job of the
Physical layer to retrieve these individual signals from the media, restore them to their bit
representations, and pass the bits up to the Data Link layer as a complete frame. CCU

Some have argued that, because of the text s inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought, there is
much in the Analects that is non Confucian and should be discarded as a basis for understanding the
thought of Confucius. Benjamin Schwartz cautions us against such radical measures.
While textual criticism based on rigorous philological and historic analysis is crucial, and while the
later sections [of the Analects] do contain late materials, the type of textual criticism that is based on
considerations of alleged logical inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought must be viewed with
great suspicion. . . . While none of us comes to such an enterprise without deep laid assumptions about
necessary logical relations and compatibilities, we should at least hold before ourselves the constant
injunction to mistrust all our unexamined preconceptions on these matters when dealing with
comparative thought. (The World of Thought in Ancient China, p. 61)
Confucius philosophy was predominately a moral and political one. It was founded on the belief that
heaven and earth coexist in harmony and balanced strength while maintaining a perpetual dynamism.
Human beings, he taught, are sustained by these conditions and must strive to emulate the cosmic

The Most Dominant And Influential Empires
The Umayyads created the first true Muslim dynasty passing down power strictly within family
boundaries from generation to generation. During their reign lasting from 661 to 750 AD, they built
the early Islamic community up into one of the most dominant and influential empires in the world.
During this time, the Umayyads would create the basis of how the Islamic Empire would be operated
moving forward. They would soon become a dynasty in question because of their lack of descent from
Muhammad, their arguable passage of power from father to son, and their injustice and ill treatment of
non Arab Muslims. Their desecrating rulers overall had a negative impact on Islam and ultimately led

Understanding Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
The newest edition of the American Psychiatric Association s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders again included Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) in the list of Depressive
Disorders (2013). In this paper, I argue from a feminist perspective that the presence of PMDD in the
DSM combines the stigma attached to both menstruation and mental illness, in order to shame any
woman who is not fulfilling the expected role of passive and accepting mother or wife. Additionally,
the DSM s false assertion that PMDD is not culturally tied forces the North American expectations of
womanhood onto people in different parts of the world.
Understanding Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder was most recently reviewed and confirmed by a work group
consisting of ten men to a mere four women (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The disorder
consists of both affective (irritability and anxiety) and physical changes (lethargy and hypersomnia)
that a woman experiences during the week before most of her periods of menses (American
Psychiatric Association, 2013, p.172). The DSM provides examples of social impairment that a
woman suffering from PMDD might experience; they pertain to marital discord and problems with
children (American Psychiatric Association, 2013, p.174). One international study of young women in
Poland shows research findings suggesting that women living in large cities are at a higher risk of
acquiring PMDD (Drosdzol,

The 1990s Conflict Of Kosovo
Intro
The 1990s conflict in Kosovo is one that has been identified as a result of a long running and
intractable dispute. The dispute identified is one between Kosovo s Albanians or Kosovar, and the
Serbians. The reasons for the dispute stem from several issues, each can be attributed to increasing the
intractability of the conflict.
The issues that have been identified stem from ethnic issues, or political. In the Kosovo region the
ethnic issues stem from the vast differences between the Albanians and the Serbs, this is attributed to
other issues such as rising ethnic tensions, and racism between the two groups. Another issue that has
been identified is the strong and underlying senses of nationalism that run through this region on both

Influential Serbian poet and writer Matija Beckovic talks of the Serbian sentiment of their status in
Kosovo, Kosovo would be Serbian even if there were not a single Serb living there. This quote
provides an insight into what is highly likely a Serbia wide perspective of the situation in Kosovo.
This suggests that a strong attachment between the Serbs and Kosovo is still present when this quote
was presented, this suggestion, if true would strongly contribute to the intractability of the conflict.
This disagreement between the two groups is an example of the issues that surround Kosovo, and how
these two groups disagree at the base level. If neither party can agree on an issue so simple as who
was there first, it suggests that further issues will arise, contributing more to intractability.

milestones was high school graduation. It wasn t the actual graduation itself, but the meaning
underneath and what it meant for me for the rest of my life. Not only was I growing older and moving
on with my entire environment changed. Graduation marked the end of a chapter in my book with
some people and continues new ones with others. I will never forget Graduation day. I remember the
morning with yelling and having to get ready, the evening with the actual graduation, and the night
when it was all said and done.
Graduation morning was really hectic. Not only was I graduation high school but my brother had just
graduated college. We woke up that morning and I had to eat breakfast fast to get ready for my
graduation. My mother insisted on dressing me in my stole, pins, and all the ropes I received from
high school. After that was done my brother put on his gown. We went to Brookside Garden and took
so many pictures. I was super excited but the hat was killing me. There wasn t one good part about it,
it was itchy and kept trying to fall off. Plus on top of that, I have super long hair down to my thighs so
I was forced to wear my hair out because if I tried to put it in a bun my

Coors Business Strategy and Performance
Strategies
Adolph Coors company is a brewery with a long history. It was founded in 1873 and managed to make
it through Prohibition by diversifying into near beer, malted milk, cement, and porcelain. Starting in
1958 the company brewed only one beer Coors Banquet . In 1978 when it introduced Coors Light, it
only took 7 years for this light beer to become 40% of the company s revenue building brand and to
become the second best selling light beer on the market. Strengths and Weakness
Coors is focused on building its market brand and share through high quality inputs and high quality
product. It wants to build revenue through a national expansion plan that includes two or three states a
year. While Coors shows consistency in their desire for expansion and brand quality through core
technologies, branding, internal developments, high quality ingredients that lead to high quality
products, they do have some glaring inconsistencies.
The natural fermentation makes it problematic to expand nationally as the beer spoils more easily and
it needs to be kept refrigerated. A solution to this problem would be to pasteurize their products to
protect against spoilage and to protect the freshness and shelf life of the products going out into the
public. In several of the campaigns used by Coors they push the notion that only pure Rocky
Mountain water is used in the brewing process and gives the beer its taste. However if they are to
expand and open up another fermentation site they will

Informative Speech On Thanksgiving
Anyone can eat soul food on any particular day of the year. However, it is something distinctive about
preparing and eating soul food on Thanksgiving Day. Soul food is considered to be fried chicken,
macaroni and cheese, collard greens, breaded fried okra and yams. The preparation and consumption
of soul food have been a staple in my family s tradition for many generations. Perchance the food
tastes better because of the cool crisp air, or maybe it s the Macy s Thanksgiving Day parade. I
honestly don t know why, but I feel like this should be a paten scientific theory. Everything just feels
right on this day, as if the world halts for a split second and it is at harmony. Possibly that is why the
food is cooked to perfection. Even the process of preparing the meal is practically better than eating
the food.
II. Body
For this food to be touched by the food Gods, we must prep for the feast the day before Thanksgiving.
Before any cooking can begin, my mom starts shouting out commands. Nina go clean the kitchen, Nae
go clean up the bathroom, and Egypt you oversee the living room. Within two minutes Before I Let
Go is blaring through the house, filling every crevice with the sweet hums of Frankie Beverley and
Maze. The aromas of bleach and incense begin to rave around the house as we finish our tasks at hand.
Now that we are finally finished, we can begin to prepare for the feast.
Before any magic of cooking can take place, we begin by collecting our ingredients. The fridge

The Dark Stories By Sylvia Plath
Do you ever wish you could take the worst moment of your life and experience it like it never
happened? In Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer that is exactly what happened to five teenagers. These teens
attended the Wooden Barn a school for the fragile. Casey, Sierra, Griffin, Marc, and Jam were all
chosen to be in an odd class, Special Topics English. Mrs. Quenell their teacher had chosen the dark
stories by Sylvia Plath the only author they were going to read the semester. When the students finally
began to use their journals they were given, they began to experience this state of Belzhar. The
students were whisked back to the time of their life where they had not experienced their trauma. Each
of these students went through something like Sylvia Plath that differentiated them from normal teens
but because of Belzhar they were healed emotionally. Sierra s brother was missing, Jam s boyfriend
had died, and Casey is paralyzed but they got through it thanks to Belzhar. Sierra Stokes is from
Washington, DC and loves her little brother André. One night he went to the store to buy and never
returned. Sierra s family was devastated and Sierra was constantly contacting the detective even three
years later. When Sierra went to Belzhar she experienced time with her brother. Worst of all no one
really knew what she was going through. In Sierra s final time in Belzhar she had to experience losing
André again and she could not leave him, so she stayed in Belzhar. Sierra was found in what

In chapter 24 the same idea is brought up, Maybe I ll be rich and work and make a lot of money and
live in a big house. But a minute later: And who wants to enslave himself to a lot of all that, though?
(Chapter 24). Jack Kerouac s writing about this shows that dharma bums do not need to fit into the
mold of working society to be happy. At the same time a dharma bum is not one that sits around doing
nothing, but one who constantly searches for oneself in nature and the things around him. This is
shown in another quote from the book, by God, you re right, all those sedentary bums sitting around
on pillows hearing the cry of a triumphant mountain smasher, they don t deserve it (Chapter 12).
Smith discusses what he has learned from Japhy here, I realized I had indeed learned from Japhy how
to cast off the evils for the world and the city and find my true pure soul, just as long as I had a decent
pack on my back. I got back to my camp and spread the sleeping bag and thanked the Lord for all He
was giving me (156). Japhy has taught Smith that the Lord gives us all that we need and to look within

particular thing. Following certain procedures such as disposing of worldly possessions to look within
and find oneself is a good step, but cannot truly define one s journey. The Dharma Bums that Smith

Solution And Responding Alternative Dispute Resolution
Reporting and Responding
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is defined by the National Alternative Dispute Resolution
Advisory Council (NADRAC) as an umbrella term for processes, other than judicial determination, in
which an impartial person assists those in a dispute to resolve the issues between them . There are six
key processes involved in ADR, one of which is mediation. Mediation is one of the most common
forms of alternative dispute resolution. In Australia, ADR is the predominant way of resolving
disputes and which therefore signifies the importance of students studying this subject in their law
degree. Furthermore it is argued that without a compulsory ADR subject, Universities are

It also improved my knowledge, the steps involved and furthermore gave me confidence in
participating in a mediation process. However, when reflecting on the role play, question is raised to
whether my experience of the mediation role play was consistent with mediation literature. The
philosophy of mediation revolves around themes and features which set mediation apart from the
other forms of dispute resolution. Three themes that arose during this assessment, which assist in
proving that the role play was consistent with mediation literature, include empowerment,
communication and voluntariness.

Personal skills, experience and knowledge can be negative and/or positive contributing factors when

Sacred Space
Introduction: What is a Sacred Space?
To examine each of the key words in the title individually would be quite a large undertaking. The
idea of sacredness applies to many religions in various ways, be it religious rituals or the presence of
God. Even the idea of space is complicated and controversial when many religions lay claim to one
place. So these two terms, when put together, can therefore have different interpretations on many
levels. There is, first, the idea of the sacred space known worldwide; these are usually referred to as
sites of pilgrimage, visited by adherents of that particular religion. On a smaller lever, there is the idea
of a sacred space that is attended locally, be it a temple, church, synagogue, or mosque. And ... Show

Every religion has had at least one schism or split that separated it into different sects. Therefore one
cannot claim to just analyze Judaism, for example; in reality one must then analyze each individual
sect and offshoot of Judaism. Again, an essay of that detail and scope would be difficult so it comes
down to the process of selecting the proper sect to analyze. In my opinion, there are two important
aspects to consider. One, what sect is the most traditional? Which sect dates as far back to the original
religion as possible, and therefore has undergone the least change? The second factor to consider is
popularity among adherents. One cannot focus on a sect of a religion that only applies to a tiny
minority of those who claim to be adherents of the broad religion; the analysis isn t relevant in that
case. Thus it becomes necessary to examine each religion Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and
determine which sect is the best to investigate for the answer to the question: What is the perception of
a sacred space in different religions? In Judaism there are four main sects: Reconstructionist, Reform,
Conservative, and Orthodox ( Intermarriage ). It is evident just from the title of the sect that Reform
and Reconstructionist Judaism are not the most traditional. Therefore it comes down to Orthodox and
Conservative. Orthodox is definitely more traditional, taking the words of the Torah as literal Jewish

Taylor was talking about high culture, an aristocratic view of the past times such as ballet, theatre and
art. Popular culture, on the other hand, is a form of low culture and is based primarily on marketing,
mass production and revenue. Low culture is what is sold to the masses, ergo, low culture equals mass

The question I have posed is a very contentious one, which has been debated by scholars and
graduates for some time, with many arguing that popular culture and mass media are ways of
brainwashing the masses into the ways of a dominant social order. Others believe that popular culture
is a type of folk culture which encompasses the idea of an alternative culture incorporating minority
groups, perhaps with subversive values sometimes challenging the dominant control groups, as was
scene with the advent of the Indie music scene in the mid nineteen nineties.
In this dissertation I aim to uncover whether aforementioned subversive values can be uncovered in
popular culture or whether popular culture is really a means by which the masses can direct dominant
controlling forces.
The main way I will do this is through my research into violent behaviour and the impact that popular
culture can have on individuals and groups in society mainly adolescents and young children by
looking at susceptibility, attraction, reactions and influences. Figures from the internet highlight the
capability television can have to influence an individual:
There are 7.5 violent acts per minute on television in the United States

A duped buyer has no cash or good credit, and has been induced into buying a home at an inflated
price with the incentive of no money down. Fraud for profit is often supported by inflated appraisals,
false income statements or verifications of income, and/or false verification of deposits to deceive out
of town lenders. There are four major subcategories of obvious fraud: Appraisal fraud. This is
frequently associated with the aforementioned property flipping. Lenders rely on accurate appraisals
to ensure that loans are fully secured. In appraisal fraud, appraisers fail to accurately evaluate the
property; this may be unintentional, or they may intentionally become a party to a fraud scheme begun
by the lender or borrower. Identity theft. This is very common in both the real estate and credit card
markets, and involves a borrower who assumes the identity of another person in order to secure a loan.
The thieves take the overage and run. Both victims (the bank and the person whose identity was
stolen) typically incur financial losses. Cash back schemes. Here, the price of a property is illegally
inflated in order to provide a cash back transaction to the participants. Many times, the borrower will
receive a rebate which is hidden from the lender and not stated on the HUD 1. In this situation, the
lender is bamboozled into lending more than the actual property value, and the buyer and/or
participants benefit financially.

The Perfect Picture Analysis
Essay #4: Analyzing the setting of The Perfect Picture Stories are made in hopes of entertaining
readers and capturing their attention. In order to have a successful story, writers will incorporate many
different elements. One element that makes up a good story is the setting. Like the word suggests, the
setting helps set up all the elements of the story; it can provide the entire mood or feeling for the story.
In James Alexander Thom s short story The Perfect Picture, the setting is at the home of a family
whose grandfather accidentally ran over his young granddaughter in the driveway. In the story, the
narrator goes on to explain that he is a police reporter yet he cannot bring himself to write about this
accident for the news. Like most stories, The Perfect Picture uses description/illustration, narration,
comparison, and definition and to try to help make the story and setting memorable. It is important to
capture your readers with a good description and illustration of a setting. You want the reader to have
a mental image in their head while they read a story. Readers want to be able to have a connection
with a story and being able to understand the setting can definitely help. In The Perfect Picture, the
author does a good job of describing the setting of he story. For example, right in the beginning of the
story, the author describes the weather in the story, saying: It was early in the spring about 15 years
ago a day of pale sunlight and trees just beginning to

Satz Surrogacy
There are many issues in modern times that are on questionable grounds regarding the moral and
ethical reasoning for such arguments. One of those ethical debates is in regards to commercial
surrogacy. Surrogacy itself is a morally sound gesture; it is meant to be a way of a family acquiring a
child that they would not be able to reproduce on their own, involving a third party. It is when the
child is paid for by that family and the third person is compensated that the issues arrive. Should
surrogacy be an available marketing resource? What justifies marketing a woman s sexual capacities?
In this paper, I will be discussing the argument presented by Debra Satz who is opposed to surrogacy,
in the counter argument to support it. Surrogacy, by definition, is the practice by which a woman
(called a surrogate mother) becomes pregnant and gives birth to a baby in order to give it to someone
who cannot have children (3). There are two types of surrogacy, gestational and traditional. The first is
one where the resulting child is genetically unrelated to the surrogate mother. The second form,
traditional, is when the surrogate mother is impregnated, whether the method is naturally or
artificially, but the child is related to the surrogate given that the surrogate is the biological mother. In
the case of Satz s argument, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

females have. This means that surrogates will tend to be females. This makes gender inequality

The Latin Wars
Introduction
At its height in 117 A.D., the Roman Empire was the largest political organization in the western
world, extending across Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East (Mark, 2011). What is uncanny
about this accomplishment are the numerous peoples and cultures that Rome gathered together under
her banner. In my discussion post for this unit I will discuss the importance of the aftermath of the
Latin Wars (340 338 B.C) specifically regarding Rome s treatment of the Latium cities and how this
set the precedence for her treatment of future subjugations and laid the foundation for maintaining her
vast empire (Toll, 2009).
Discussion
Early in Roman history around 340 B.C. Rome s strategic allies in Latium sensing her ambition and
tiring of Rome behaving as the de facto ruler of the region , demanded to be treated as equals, not as
territories of Rome (Toll, 2009). Furthermore, if their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It is at this moment in history when the Romans having learned from past endeavors engaged in a
brilliant strategy to incorporate the towns of Latium into the Roman political organization (Forsythe,
2006, p.289 292). Rome s initial step was to breakup the Latin Confederacy, isolating each of the
towns in Latium with the knowledge that a united Latium would present a substantial threat to Rome s
power (Morey, 1901). Based on each Latin city s behavior and aggressiveness during the war and on
their level of compatibility, the Romans delegated certain rights and freedoms to each city (Toll,
2009). Some of the towns were fully integrated in to the Roman political organization with the
populace of those towns being granted full Roman citizenship which bestowed on them the right to

women in upstate New York, for drug smuggling with her ex girlfriend (Alex) a couple of years ago.
When Chapman goes to prison she is reunited with Alex, even though their relationship goes through
ups and downs as the time goes by. The main focus of the television show is to present a public
discourse about the criminal justice system, particularly incarceration in the United States. Through
the social cognitive theory and the agenda setting theory one is able to see how Orange is the New
Black draws attention to different issues within our incarceration system, specially imprisonment of
women. From the social cognitive theory aspect, the filmmaker has communicated an acceptance
towards distinctive identities by having a variety of characters in the show. Apart from this, agenda
setting theory comes into play when particular issues within imprisonment are presented, like solitary
confinement was throughout many episodes. These can be further examined and analyzed looking at
all the elements Jenji Kohan implements in her scripts to open up a public discussions about social
issues. In regards to social cognitive theory, one is looking at the fact that people learn by observing

The Final Episode of Mark Twain s The Adventures of...
The Great Importance of the Final Episode of Huckleberry Finn
One of the things many critics of Huckleberry Finn just can t
seem to understand is the final episode of the novel where Tom returns
and sidetracks Huck from his rescue of Jim through a long series of
silly, boyish plans based on ideas Tom has picked up from Romantic novels,
such as those of Walter Scott. Critic Stephen Railton dismisses these
final chapters as just another version of their Royal Nonesuch (405);
referring, of course, to the silly play put on by the Duke and Dauphin in
chapter 23. From one point of view, this whole evasion sequence seems
funny and humorous in the traditions of frontier and southwestern ... Show more content on

For one, Stephen
Railton says Jim s role is haplessly comic (401). Several critics argue that Jim
fits into the stereotypical figure of the black face minstrel shows
popular at the time (Carey Webb 24) (an accusation with profound repercussions,
to be addressed shortly). And remember how most of Twain s books
until this one, such as The Innocents Abroad and Roughing It , were
comic travel books. And it also seems likely that Twain is satirizing
Romanticism (another possible idea to be addressed later).
However, despite the humor (or maybe because of it), the book
remains very serious. As V. S. Pritchett puts it, The curious thing
about Huckleberry Finn is that, although it is one of the funniest books
in all literature and really astonishing in the variety of its farce and
character, we are even more moved than we are amused by it (307). Pritchett
goes on to say, The value of a native humor like Twain s
is that it expresses a profound reality in human nature: the ability
of man to adjust himself to circumstance and to live somehow (307).
There is truth in comedy. Comedians can tell us brutal realities that
dramatist cannot. As Pritchett explains later, The subject of
Huckleberry Finn is the comical but also brutal effect of an anarchic
rebellion against civilization and especially

Man s Man Oktavian
What defines a man? A woman? A human? A lingering question that every individual has faced, trying
to uphold to a definition of what and who they should be. Los Angeles based artist Oktavian explores
this concept through vivid expressions of diverse emotions, honest depth, and a refreshing sense of
realism on his latest single Man s Man. The track s chopped and skewed heart of R B flourishes
against a bed of electronic beats which swim smoothly upon delivery of a soulful echo. Man s Man
recalls traits of Oktavian s father which cultivated him to the ideal of a real man ; acting as a constant
reminder of how Oktavian should be. The track s interchangeable line of standards resurfaces as a past

An Analysis Of Online Health Information From Psychology...
An Analysis of Online Health Information from Psychology Today Sarah E. Basuric University of
Alberta Faculty of Nursing 1229968 The purpose of this discussion is to analyze an article from
Psychology Today entitled A Multitasking Molecule: Melatonin Does a lot More Than Help you
Sleep. This discussion will explore the credibility of the site, the purpose of the article, the congruency
of content versus audience, the methods used, and the balance of information. Upon viewing the site,
the top of the screen urges the reader to find a therapist, and contains a clearly laid out navigation bar.
Advertisements and links to other Psychology Today articles run down the right side of the screen.
The site is quite user friendly. This article was written by Rachel Uda; the date of publication and date
of last review are listed. Lorraine Roberts (2010) explains criteria for evaluating a health website. The
first is credibility, in which the reader is to seek out specific qualifications of the author (Roberts,
2010, p. 322). A search of both the experts drop down menu and the general search bar of Psychology
Today did not yield any credentials for Uda. A Google search brought up her LinkedIn site, which
states that she attended Graduate School of Journalism from Columbia University. This leads the
writer to question the qualifications of the author, as it appears she has credentials as a journalist, not

Obstacles In Thomas Jefferson s Life
Thomas Jefferson was a known and accomplished man during his entire life. He was born on April 13,
1743, in a town located just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia and had died July 4, 1743. Jefferson
was tall, red haired with many freckles, and wasn t considered very attractive. In his early life he
worked hard for what he wanted passing many obstacles. Jefferson was a poor public speaker, but
oddly became a very accomplished lawyer. Jefferson had many roles to play in the government. He
was the nation s first secretary of state, second vice president, the third president of the United States
and one of the people known for the Louisiana Purchase. Jefferson also had a big name as the author
of the American of Independence.

progressed along with the revolutionary war into the south, Jefferson had an idea of moving the capital
to Richmond. When moving the capital they were forced to leave because that ended up being the
target of the British attack. Just days before the end of his career as governor, Jefferson was forced to
leave his house to avoid a capture from British cavalry. As this was taking place Jefferson had stated,
When a man assumes a public trust, he should consider himself as public property. Jefferson didn t run

Sample Letter For A Interview At Ficial Site Of Costa
I visited the official site of Costa to find out the spelling of the word Mocha , through this I got to see

Chai latte, Iced Cappuccino, Mocha and Caramel latte. To find the charities that are located in London
and is local to my area, I used Google Advanced Search Engine as well as this website to find the
details and information of the charities in the UK; however, the charities for my event must me local

Each year it costs the Charitable Fund £1.6 million to award grants to students and candidates and to
the people that are homeless, prisoners or disabled. I used this website to help me choose what I
should hire for my charity event. This has helped me to consider the different available activities I can
hire such as the colourful soft play area for children under the age of 5. This site offers staffs that I can
hire such as the crew staff that help to set up the equipment such as the Under 8s Super Heroes
Bouncy Castle; to keep the children active. Even though the majority of the activities are provided by
them, they didn t include the prices to hire the equipment or staff. Therefore, I used a different
website. There is a variety of activities from this website that I can hire and they include all the
information of the prices and when it is available to hire rather than waiting 2 days to get a quote
(which was my main problem when searching for activities to hire for my event.). From this website, I
have decided that to hire the 25ft x 25ft Adults/Childs Bouncy Castle at a price of £275, which I
believe is suitable and eye catching to all ages, is one of the options I can take. It is also stated on the
website that it is fit for adults as well as children. However, I compared the price to another website
and I found that I could hire the same size bouncy castle by a difference of £135 which is a much
better deal. Therefore, I am definitely

Saving Animal Shelters In America
Introduction
Murdered animals are the result of animals shelters neglecting to take care of them. They are left with
untreated diseases, and severe abandonment. No home and no one to take care of them; this is what it
s like for these animals everyday, and it s because of traditional kill shelters. A recent study conducted
that there are 70 million stray cats and dogs live in the United States. There are 13,600 estimated
animal shelters nationwide. Only 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters every year. It s
the lack of animal shelters letting animals in, or killing them instead, that has cause so many to die. An
author from animal shelter blog states: When no kill animal shelters and rescue groups are filled to
capacity, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A recent article states that These programs include national initiatives focused on shutting down
puppy mills, fighting breed discriminatory legislation, and keeping community cats safe and out of

and a national network of animal welfare partners, all unified under a distinct call to action: Save
Them All. In this wute the animal shelter called Best Friends has made saving animals and taking
disciplined steps into creating a positive, safe, and healthy way for animals to live. In another source

overpopulation which is why the LA/SPCA invests so heavily in sterilization programs. Until all dogs
and cats are sterilized or the numbers of homeless animals are significantly reduced, our community
will continue to euthanize. This shows that unwanted animals are a cause of overpopulation, in which
animals aren t accepted anywhere else, so the shelters kill them because there isn t pspace. If more
animal shelters opened their doors and more shelters were opened up, more animals wouldn t have to
be murdered and instead saved and cared for by loving people

A Trip to the Oregon Coast
Imagine a place where you can sit on the beach as the waves roll in; the smell of the sea and fresh fish
cooking in the distance at a nearby restaurant. A place where you can experience a thrill of blasting
over the sand dunes at high speeds in a buggy, visit aquariums, and see wildlife up close. Imagine a
place of relaxation, watching the whales migrate across the ocean. A place like this can only be one of
a kind, the Oregon coast. The Oregon coast would be a great place to spend a vacation, it s
inexpensive and relaxing. So how much would it cost to go to the Oregon coast? What kinds of
attractions would one be able to see? Is there stuff for the kids to do as well as adults? What kind of

I interview a really close friend, Sheena Stigile, who loves the Oregon coast and has traveled there at
least once a year, if not more. She said, The Undersea Gardens help to push your knowledge allowing
you to feel as if you are in the water learning about the amazing life that lives under the sea . Her
quote really gives a sense of the atmosphere that a patron may experience. Visitors walk down into a
room under the water; there they will be able to watch a live dive show. They will also get to see a
verity of specimens anything from a wolf eel to some of the largest octopus in the world. This sounds
like a fun and exciting adventure most will not forget. The costs for the Undersea Gardens are as
follows: Adult $9.95, Child $5.95, and ages 4 and under are free (Oak Bay Marine Group).
Stigile continues to tell me about the tide pools and how they are one of the fun and more interesting
things available on the Oregon Coast. The tide pools are located in several areas along the coast. The
pools range in price, the cost for the tide pools are due to the fact that some of them are maintained by
the state and require a fee similar to that of a state park. However not all of the pools require payment,
there are also some free of charge. The tide pools form when the tide and water are in, the sea life
begins to grow and expand overtime on the rock formations. When the tide recedes the pathways show
where you can walk through allowing you to

Human Primates And Human Primate
For my final paper for this class I will be going over and portraying the behavior of non human
primate and human primate in the literature and movies we went over, compared to the evolutionary
understandings of primate behavior. Throughout this class we studied and compared the different
primates, including human and non humans. According to the Wikipedia, The primate lineage is
thought to go back at least 65 million years ago. with that one could say that research on non human
and human primate can somehow explain the theory behind evolution. In addition to the different
reading materials we had in class we also watched several movies displaying different behaviors of
non human primate and human primate. With that saying, I developed a thesis statement, despite its
differences and similarities between non human primates and human primates behavior, can evolution
be understood differently when comparing the two through various readings, movies and evolutionary
research. Throughout this paper I will be going over the differences and similarities in behavior,
evolution, a higher power and even my take on such an opposition. First, I want to go over and talk
about the Evolutionary Theory. The Evolutionary Theory is a theory that has been supported by years
of experiments which is known as being one of the best speculation of natural occurrence. The
changes on earth through different events that occurred over time could be the cause of such a variety
of species to exist on

The Christ-Figure In The Hunger Artist
Christ: A Better Hunger Artist The Christ figure is a prominent archetype found in modern literature.
From Simon in The Lord of the Flies to Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings, characters who are true in
spirit and suffer for it are all too common. In Kafka s short story A Hunger Artist, this archetype
emerges again but with a twist. The unnamed protagonist is an archetypal Christ figure whose failure
to impact his surroundings serves as an allegory to modern society s diminishing spirituality. Many
aspects of the Hunger Artist s life run parallel to that of Jesus Christ s, and his description matches that
of the Christ figure archetype. The Hunger Artist renounces food and other material items, and
paradoxically gains nourishment from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the Hunger Artist is performing his miraculous fasts, rather than having his achievements
heralded by society, he is greeted with suspicion and cynicism. With this, Kafka argues that modern
society is similarly suspicious of those who devote their lives to faith. Additionally, the Hunger Artist
s popularity is referred to as a passing fad, which suggests that the popularity of Christ will also wane
with time. Kafka parodies the story of Christ with his usage of the two women and the impresario in
the story. Nothing like the followers of Christ, these people are only helping the Artist for their own
personal benefits the impresario for money, and the women for the honour . Both the impresario and
the women do not express any real concern for the Artist s well being, as the impresario heartlessly
markets pictures of the emaciated man, and the women recoil from his touch. Unlike Jesus, nobody
will ever understand or care for the Hunger Artist s suffering, as he is to be the sole completely
satisfied spectator of his own fast. The world s rejection of faith is complete and absolute in the story
when the Hunger Artist dies. Although both Christ and the Artist pass on in absolute service to their
beliefs, the professional faster dies isolated in

This shows how much passion he plays with when doing the thing he loves. Babe hasn t always had this kind of love for the game though. His real name was George Herman Ruth Jr. As a young child he was one of eight children. His sister and him were the only ones to survive from all of the kids. His teammate Bill Dickey said, He hits the ball harder and further than any man I ever saw. Then the following year he broke his own record and hit 59 home runs. Then only two years ago he shocked the game of baseball again by hitting 60 home runs. The reason for hitting so many home runs is because he s looking to hit so many home runs. Those successful establishments could possibly include a private high school, a sporting team, or even a business. Typically, private schools enforce the policy that a uniform most be worn by all enrolled students. But why hasn t the majority of traditional public schools, developed uniform policies? Benefits of uniforms within schools may include, students feeling more professional and successful. In addition, educators and experts believe uniforms have a resounding impact on how students act in the classroom. Uniform policies should begin to be mandatory for junior high students through the end of the high school tenure. A traditional school uniform may include, White button down shirts and ties for boys, pleated skirts for girls and blazers adorned with the school logo for all. Another school may simply require that all shirts have collars (Wilde). This simple and built to last outfit can help students stay focused on education rather than worrying about their clothing choices. Politician and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, believes introducing school uniforms is a productive way to implement the focus on learning and limit the attention on what the students are wearing ( Should Students ). With uniforms, discipline is put into place as fewer debates occur between parents and children regarding what the child will be wearing to school (Kouzmine). School uniforms are not just easier for parents, the uniforms also make mornings easier for students. Along with reducing arguments and stress, school uniforms encourage unity in the halls while providing discipline. Uniforms in schools could help make the school a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Unfortunately, hazing is a major problem among students in schools. • 4. Evaluating Compliance Strategies in Medical Billing and... In the medical billing and coding process there are several steps. In the medical billing process physicians prepare and sign documentation of the patients visit. The next step is to post the medical codes and transactions of the patients visit in the practice management program and to prepare claims. The process used to generate claims must comply with the rules imposed by federal and state laws as well as with payer requirements. Claims that are correct help to reduce the chance of an investigation of the practice for fraud and also the risk of liability if an investigation does occur (Valerius, Bayes, Newby Seggern, 2008). Most physicians depend on their personnel to process their medical bills without looking at the bills before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite all of the errors that can occur during the medical coding and billing process there are a few strategies that could help avoid these problems. These strategies include; avoiding unbundling (billers and coders must be clear on what individual procedures are contained in bundled codes), be clear on professional courtesy and discounts to uninsured or low income patients (professional courtesy occurs when a physician chooses to ignore the charges for service to other physicians and their families), benchmarks the practices E/M codes with national averages, use modifiers appropriately (CPT modifiers can eliminate any impression of duplicated billing or unbundling), and maintaining complaint job reference aids and documentation templates. These simple steps can help avoid billing and coding errors. Linking procedures in the correct way and diagnoses avoids denial of payments and avoids the possible consequences that can occur due to billing incorrectly. In most cases, these damages are happened because people are more likely to use fossil energy instead of renewable energy. In 1991, the worst disaster happened in the Arabian Gulf, and it was closed to my hometown. It s estimated more than 250,000 seabirds died by oil spill (Laura Moss, 2010). However, solar and wind power is the best choice for many scientists to preserve the environment. In the past, renewable power had some difficulties because most of the energy has obtained from hydroelectric levees, whereas now produce more than quarter of the globe s energy (reading 1). As well as this, more than 85 of the consumed around the world comes from fossil fuel energy. Unlike renewable energy, fossil energy notably pollutes our plant. Due to population and other reasons, renewable energy becomes more popular and getting attention from a lot of people (reading1). Ultimately, there are some differences and similarities between solar and wind power in terms of their amount of energy and advantages, and these sources has fundamental way to store their energy, which is through advanced battery. The primary important difference and similar between solar and wind power is their amount of energy. Both of them have different capacity to store and provide the energy. But the production of control data in the form of coded machine instructions requires programming skills as well as an understanding of robotics concepts such as kinematics, which lie outside most architects domain of expertise. To address this problem, the custom robot programming library YOUR, which aims at making robot control intuitively accessible to students, has been implemented. Based on this, a toolkit of visual programming components for GrasshopperTM, allowing students to directly assemble graphical components for the control of their robotic fabrication sequences, was developed. In addition to the direct materialization of digitally conceived designs, the physical working model provides students with a differentiated and sensual feedback on their design, whereby they can immediately engage with its constructive and structural aspects. As part of an iterative process, these insights can then be re integrated into the computational design strategy. Architectural design practice will be increasingly mediated by digital technology in the future. Digital fabrication technology allows architects to conceive designs both digitally and physically, and may empower them to take a more active role in the materialization and construction process. Throughout the movie there are a couple of themes that arise that I believe need to be addressed before focusing on how the media holds institutions accountable. The first theme I d like to focus on is the crisis of Faith. The character Mike, had an interesting and powerful character arc. Once Mike sees the files that declare the church was guilty of abuse, he loses his religious Faith . This loss of Faith is especially difficult for a man raised Catholic in one of the most Catholic of cities. The net result is that Mike doubles down on his secular faith in the journalistic investigative process on which he has embarked. His drive to get to the truth kicks his faith in the investigation process into an even higher gear. Further, it s not just an individual s turn, it s an entire generations turn as well to face the crises of Faith . The priests abuse was horrific. This is and should be a story about the victims permanent scars. The film also shows how the church s cover up has furthered the very erosion of the institution they were trying to protect. Mike in that sense stands in for many who lost their Faith in the wake of the abuse scandal, Faith in the Catholic church, Faith and trust in the Priests who lead and represent the church, even Faith in God . • 14. The Osi Reference Model Developed By Iso The OSI reference model is a seven layer abstract model developed by ISO in 1984. It describes the standards for inter computer communication that is how data flows from one computer on a network through wires, cable and routers to another computer in another network. Each layer provides a framework to explain specific functionalities and the interactions between network components where the upper layers ( Application, Presentation, Session )mostly work at the software level and the lower layers(Transport, Network, Data Link and Physical) in the hardware and firmware levels. We will use data unit flow within the CCU network to illustrate at each layer the association between devices and software and also the interactions of components between the layers. Layer 1 The Physical Layer The OSI Physical layer defines electrical, physical and procedural specifications for devices and medium ( cables, connectors, hubs, repeaters, network interfaces cards ) responsible to transport across the network the bit stream of data. At this layer, Data Units are called bits: Frames from the Data Link layer are encoded in a series of electrical impulse, light or radio signal and transmitted through a media (copper, fiber or wireless) across the network to the receiving node. It is also the job of the Physical layer to retrieve these individual signals from the media, restore them to their bit representations, and pass the bits up to the Data Link layer as a complete frame. Some have argued that, because of the text s inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought, there is much in the Analects that is non Confucian and should be discarded as a basis for understanding the thought of Confucius. Benjamin Schwartz cautions us against such radical measures. While textual criticism based on rigorous philological and historic analysis is crucial, and while the later sections [of the Analects] do contain late materials, the type of textual criticism that is based on considerations of alleged logical inconsistencies and incompatibilities of thought must be viewed with great suspicion. . . . While none of us comes to such an enterprise without deep laid assumptions about necessary logical relations and compatibilities, we should at least hold before ourselves the constant injunction to mistrust all our unexamined preconceptions on these matters when dealing with comparative thought. • 19. Understanding Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder The newest edition of the American Psychiatric Association s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders again included Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) in the list of Depressive Disorders (2013). In this paper, I argue from a feminist perspective that the presence of PMDD in the DSM combines the stigma attached to both menstruation and mental illness, in order to shame any woman who is not fulfilling the expected role of passive and accepting mother or wife. Additionally, the DSM s false assertion that PMDD is not culturally tied forces the North American expectations of womanhood onto people in different parts of the world. Understanding Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder was most recently reviewed and confirmed by a work group consisting of ten men to a mere four women (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The disorder consists of both affective (irritability and anxiety) and physical changes (lethargy and hypersomnia) that a woman experiences during the week before most of her periods of menses (American Psychiatric Association, 2013, p.172). The DSM provides examples of social impairment that a woman suffering from PMDD might experience; they pertain to marital discord and problems with children (American Psychiatric Association, 2013, p.174). The dispute identified is one between Kosovo s Albanians or Kosovar, and the Serbians. The reasons for the dispute stem from several issues, each can be attributed to increasing the intractability of the conflict. The issues that have been identified stem from ethnic issues, or political. This suggests that a strong attachment between the Serbs and Kosovo is still present when this quote was presented, this suggestion, if true would strongly contribute to the intractability of the conflict. This disagreement between the two groups is an example of the issues that surround Kosovo, and how these two groups disagree at the base level. If neither party can agree on an issue so simple as who was there first, it suggests that further issues will arise, contributing more to intractability. In 1978 when it introduced Coors Light, it only took 7 years for this light beer to become 40% of the company s revenue building brand and to become the second best selling light beer on the market. Strengths and Weakness Coors is focused on building its market brand and share through high quality inputs and high quality product. It wants to build revenue through a national expansion plan that includes two or three states a year. While Coors shows consistency in their desire for expansion and brand quality through core technologies, branding, internal developments, high quality ingredients that lead to high quality products, they do have some glaring inconsistencies. The natural fermentation makes it problematic to expand nationally as the beer spoils more easily and it needs to be kept refrigerated. A solution to this problem would be to pasteurize their products to protect against spoilage and to protect the freshness and shelf life of the products going out into the public. The idea of sacredness applies to many religions in various ways, be it religious rituals or the presence of God. Even the idea of space is complicated and controversial when many religions lay claim to one place. So these two terms, when put together, can therefore have different interpretations on many levels. There is, first, the idea of the sacred space known worldwide; these are usually referred to as sites of pilgrimage, visited by adherents of that particular religion. Every religion has had at least one schism or split that separated it into different sects. Therefore one cannot claim to just analyze Judaism, for example; in reality one must then analyze each individual sect and offshoot of Judaism. Again, an essay of that detail and scope would be difficult so it comes down to the process of selecting the proper sect to analyze. In my opinion, there are two important aspects to consider. One, what sect is the most traditional? Which sect dates as far back to the original religion as possible, and therefore has undergone the least change? The second factor to consider is popularity among adherents. One cannot focus on a sect of a religion that only applies to a tiny minority of those who claim to be adherents of the broad religion; the analysis isn t relevant in that case. Thus it becomes necessary to examine each religion Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and determine which sect is the best to investigate for the answer to the question: What is the perception of a sacred space in different religions? In Judaism there are four main sects: Reconstructionist, Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox ( Intermarriage ). Overall Using Facebook to promote your business can go beyond your page and promotion of your page. You can also use your personal account to make connections with colleagues and prospects, start conversations and network online. With clear objectives and plan for managing your connections, you can use Facebook to network and develop great business relationships. The objective of marketing is to reach potential customers through the channels where they spend time reading, searching, shopping, or socializing online. Widespread adoption of the Internet for business and personal use has generated many new channels for advertising and marketing engagement, including those mentioned above. These methods are also not well suited to controlled experimentation. Today, anyone with an online business (as well as most offline businesses) can participate in online marketing by creating a website and building customer acquisition campaigns at little to no cost. Those marketing products and services also have the ability to experiment with optimization to fine tune their campaigns efficiency and ROI. • 37. Satz Surrogacy There are many issues in modern times that are on questionable grounds regarding the moral and ethical reasoning for such arguments. One of those ethical debates is in regards to commercial surrogacy. Surrogacy itself is a morally sound gesture; it is meant to be a way of a family acquiring a child that they would not be able to reproduce on their own, involving a third party. It is when the child is paid for by that family and the third person is compensated that the issues arrive. Should surrogacy be an available marketing resource? What justifies marketing a woman s sexual capacities? In this paper, I will be discussing the argument presented by Debra Satz who is opposed to surrogacy, in the counter argument to support it. Surrogacy, by definition, is the practice by which a woman (called a surrogate mother) becomes pregnant and gives birth to a baby in order to give it to someone who cannot have children (3). There are two types of surrogacy, gestational and traditional. The first is one where the resulting child is genetically unrelated to the surrogate mother. The second form, traditional, is when the surrogate mother is impregnated, whether the method is naturally or artificially, but the child is related to the surrogate given that the surrogate is the biological mother. In the case of Satz s argument, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 38. The Latin Wars Introduction At its height in 117 A.D., the Roman Empire was the largest political organization in the western world, extending across Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East (Mark, 2011). What is uncanny about this accomplishment are the numerous peoples and cultures that Rome gathered together under her banner. In my discussion post for this unit I will discuss the importance of the aftermath of the Latin Wars (340 338 B.C) specifically regarding Rome s treatment of the Latium cities and how this set the precedence for her treatment of future subjugations and laid the foundation for maintaining her vast empire (Toll, 2009). Discussion Early in Roman history around 340 B.C. Rome s initial step was to breakup the Latin Confederacy, isolating each of the towns in Latium with the knowledge that a united Latium would present a substantial threat to Rome s power (Morey, 1901). Based on each Latin city s behavior and aggressiveness during the war and on their level of compatibility, the Romans delegated certain rights and freedoms to each city (Toll, 2009). The Great Importance of the Final Episode of Huckleberry Finn One of the things many critics of Huckleberry Finn just can t seem to understand is the final episode of the novel where Tom returns and sidetracks Huck from his rescue of Jim through a long series of silly, boyish plans based on ideas Tom has picked up from Romantic novels, such as those of Walter Scott. Critic Stephen Railton dismisses these final chapters as just another version of their Royal Nonesuch (405); referring, of course, to the silly play put on by the Duke and Dauphin in chapter 23. And remember how most of Twain s books until this one, such as The Innocents Abroad and Roughing It , were comic travel books.
