Disease Is The Biggest Money Maker Of Our Economy
Disease is the biggest money maker in our economy, by John H. Tobe. This quote emphasis on the
impact diseases have on the economy. In well developed countries, people have different sources
of money which they use for different needs. However, in Africa people face different problems
because of poverty. Diseases, is among the biggest issues in Africa. Since people can not get proper
treatment to the disease, many people die while other people get affected. Accordind to ..... Liberia
has less than two hundred doctors throughout the country, (.....). The few doctors are responsible
to treat four million people. One of the epidemic disease in Liberia and other western African
countries is Ebola. Few available doctors are working in the Ebola sector leading to deaths of
patients as there are no enough doctors treating patient. According to the economist, the United
States will provide relief efforts and train up to five hundred people, (economist, 2014). This
people, will be helping to burry the dead bodies and isolate people. This disease has not affected
Africa only, rather it has also started to spread in other countries. This paper will reflect on the
worldwide impact of Ebola on the economics. To begin with the background of Ebola disease,
Kathleen Caulderwood states that, The deadliest Ebola outbreak in history has already killed
3,857 people, (Caulderwood 2014). This shows how Ebola disease has affected many people.

Is College Worth It
Is college actually worth it? This is a question most students start asking as the college cost
increases and jobs are harder to get. Getting accepted into a good college is a great start, but in
order to be successful students themselves need to be hardworking, motivated, and creative. That
way students can make worth of the cost of collegeand become successful. College is worth it
because it gives workers a higher chance of being employed and gives student s problem solving
skills to boost the economy. For starters, those with a high schooldiploma are more likely to be
unemployed than those with a college degree. On the article ВЁEducation Still PaysВЁ it was
stated that Workers with less than a high school diploma had the highest unemployment... Show

YouДєl need the knowledge and problem solving skills you learn in science and math to cure
diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our
environment (Obama 69). According to this quote, the reader can see that in order to be helpful to
the environment , country and themselves education is required. By extension, education is also
required to do most things in life, as Obama said ВЁNo matter what you do in life I guarantee you
will need an education for it. You cannot drop out of school and just drop into a good job. YouВ

President of America is explaining to the reader that going to college is worth it and dropping out

order to achieve it. Some may argue that college isn t worth it. Consider the fact that it was stated
that First, there are plenty of problems with higher education poor quality, even in brand name
schools, and out of control costs are one of the biggest. On the article ВЁWhy College Isn t (And

definitely worth it because the benefits of college outweigh the

Informative Speech Essay examples
OUTLINE
General purpose: To inform
Speech Goal: I would like to give everybody an insight on Tiger Wood s life. I will talk about his
early childhood, golf career, and the scandal that became his downfall.
INTRODUCTION
Who in your opinion is the most dominant well known figure in professional sports? This is up
for debate to many of us as we all have different likes or interests. But there is one individual who
was destined for stardom and was in the spotlight at a very early age.
He is arguably the one individual in our lifetime that transformed his sport. With his presence, the
sport of golf became popular and was no longer a ratings buster on television, and became a sport
more young kids wanted to get involved in. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
B. His dad saw that he had an interest in golf at a very early age and designated him as The
Chosen One (Callahan 23). 1. When Tiger was a toddler, his dad would put him in his high chair
while he would hit golf balls in the basement. He noticed Tiger watching every move he made.
Soon enough, Tiger was mimicking his dad s golf swing and Earl Woods became amazed at
what Tiger could do with a golf club by the age of 2. 2. Tiger became noticed by the world at the
ripe old age of two yrs. old when he appeared on the Mike Douglas show. He was featured in Golf
Digest at the age of 5 and began winning junior tournaments with kids four to five years older
than him at the age of 8 (Londino 23). 3. He had a close relationship with his father and it is well
documented that Tiger got his mental toughness through him. His dad use makes all kinds of
noises while Tiger would attempt to practice. This left Tiger with two choices: He could block out
the distraction or lose his composure. 4. At age 15 Woods became the youngest ever U.S. Junior
Amateur champion. He defended the title in 1992 and

Human Smuggling And Human Trafficking
Human smuggling is defined as the act of facilitating, transporting or aiding the illegal entry of a
person or persons across an international border, deliberately evading the country s immigration
laws. Human trafficking is similar, but not quite the same since the person being trafficked has not
given consent, while smugglingis under an agreement between smuggler and customer. A victim of
trafficking is also usually treated as possession to be controlled and exploited ( Human Trafficking
Gale ) . Human smuggling and trafficking both have damaging effects and the causality is left
with physical, mental and emotional scars. A majority of the people that are being affected are
migrants from Central America or residents of the Mexican highlands hoping to get work on
farms or construction sites in the U.S. Being smuggled across the border is very problematic.
Not only because there is a high risk of being caught, but if they are able to make it across they
are generally unable to pay for food, transportation and often don t speak English.( Dying to
Leave. ) Victims of trafficking are primarily young children or women whose purpose is to either
be used as slave labor or some sort of sexual exploitation like prostitution. Human smuggling and
trafficking is such an important issue to resolve because it s a violation of human rights, a form of
organized crime, undermines human safety and even threatens development prospects in many
regions around the world ( Human Trafficking. )

Why Is Roe V. Wade Important
The United States Supreme Court rid the country of every abortion law on January 22, 1973.
Roe v. Wade played a huge role in the successful event. The landmark case of Roe v. Wade made
a controversial impact on today s world. The history of abortion laws is very extensive. Abortion
laws can date back to the 1800s (source 7). English statutory and common law are from where
most of the beginning abortion laws came from (source 1). The English Statutory laws say that if
a women were to have an abortion when the fetus is past the first trimester it is a major crime that
is taken seriously (source 1). If the fetus is in the first trimester the plenty of an abortion is lesser

wade involved a female plaintiff and male defendant who changed history by what they claimed.
The determined plaintiff was a young pregnant woman named Norma McCorvey. The defendant
was the district attorney, Henry Wade. Norma McCorvey told her attorneys that the only way
she would go through with the lawsuit was if she used a fake name. Norma McCorvey used the
name Jane Roe. McCorvey was under Texas law. Texas law stated she did not have the right to
an abortion. McCorvey was not a women with vast amounts of wealth. She could not afford to
go to a different area to receive an abortion. Because of this the plaintiff, Roe claimed that the
law violated her privacy. She claimed her 1,4,5,9, and 14 amendments were violated. Her claim
stated citizens were given rights and privacy. The opponent Henry Wade was against abortion.
Roe not only fought for abortion, but for the right of privacy. Meanwhile the case was a conflict
for many people. Most people did not want to get involved so tried to remain neutral. A poll was
taken on this statement, The decision to have an abortion should be made solely by a woman and
her physician. The poll showed that 64% of people agreed with this statement. The official ruling
of the Supreme Court was said by Mr. Justice Blackmum. The Supreme Court s final decision was
that the laws violate the rights of pregnant women. The Supreme Court s vote was 7 2. The plaintiff
was the winner in this case.

The American Legal System
What is the importance of the American legal system? The American Legal system is important
because it plays a vital role in how we live our lives every day. It was created as a common law
system which relies on court authority in making important decisions. The purpose of this legal
system is to help make sure that our country is in a peaceful and civilized manner. This system
promotes good morals and disciplines those who try to deliberately harm others and break the
laws. The legal system is designed to remove lawbreakers from society. The system is also designed
to protect the innocent. Two examples of laws that protect the innocent would be the Age
Discrimination Act of 1975 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The Age

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Being A Lawyer
When people talk about lawyers, the very first time that will get into their minds is that lawyers
are rich, because they often get paid with thousands and thousands of money on every case they
handle. What people don t really think about is how difficult being a lawyer is. Every single day is
a struggle to keep up with deadlines and meetings, there will always be paperworks to get through,
especially if they re handling multiple cases. Being a lawyer can actually be a dangerous job, they
could be killed regardless if they win a caseor not, they could also get sick because of how much
they re working. Keep reading to find out how dangerous it is to be a lawyer.
We often want to win even more than the client. We see the bigger picture, law, precedent, our
reputation, plus all of the work that we put on our case because I think I ve cared most of my

However, what most people don t think is that it is not always about using the brain. Just because
lawyers don t do physical labor doesn t mean that they don t get physically tired. They re human
beings as well, so their bodies get tired too. They may not be doing extreme physically labor, it
doesn t mean they don t exert physical effort. Lawyers are known to always be sitting on their
desks working on paperworks, that would mean, that they would most likely get tired of sitting
for too long, with back pains, as well as looking at their computers for so long that would affect
their eyes. Since they are always so busy, they obviously wouldn t have so much time to work out
every day and exercise is essential, they also sometimes don t eat healthy meals on time because

Spearman s Rank Correlation Coefficient Review Spearman s rank correlation coefficient is a
mathematic and statistics tool used to measure correlation or in other words, there is a number
that reveals how closely related, two sets of different data can be associated and how closely
related they are. This can only be used with information that can be put in rank order from highest
to lowest. The Spearman s rank correlation coefficientis also used to determine whether the two
variables are associated or related in any monotonic way, in which a variable will increase and the
other variable will also increase or it will decrease. As a result of this, the measurement will be

As part of this research Messina et al. used the Spearman rank correlation coefficient to help
determine any relationship between the mean score of patient satisfaction (independent variable)
and the admissions volume (dependent variable). The patients were given surveys/questionnaires to
be filled out which they graded on a ranking scale of their own satisfaction on the hospital type they
received their treatment. The results of this research using the Spearman rank correlation
coefficient, has shown that there is a significant but negative correlation between the variables in
the combined sample between admissions and patient satisfaction. The research performed by
Messina et al. (2009), definitely answers the research question if there is any relationship between
patient satisfaction and inpatient admissions across teaching and nonteaching hospitals. When one
looks at the Spearman s rank correlation coefficient results by itself you will see that there is
statistically a significant and positive correlation between the patient satisfaction and the admission
volumes in teaching hospitals (Messina et al.,

Essay about My Personal Praxis Statement
My Personal Praxis Statement
As a college student, I often find myself inundated with work. To make it worse, these assignments
usually are uninteresting and irrelevant. It is in the midst of these tedious exercises that I begin to
wonder whether all of this work is worth it. When this issue creeps into my mind, I think back to
my reasons for choosing to pursue this profession. When I started college, I knew that I could not
function in a typical nine to five job. The banality and predictability of such a career simply did
not appeal to me. So that essentially ruled out any course of study which would lead to such an
occupation. I also knew that I wanted a job that would allow me to make a difference in people s

I believe that I can pass along my own wisdom while simultaneously helping them to develop a
knowledge base of their own. I believe that I can get through to students and allow them to reach

is both interesting and enlightening. What follows is my interpretation of the teaching profession.
It details the methodological and ideological frameworks that I would use to construct a learning
experience that is meaningful for students.
When looking back on high school, I realize that I typically learned more from teachers who made
their classes interesting. By doing so, these educators utilized student interest as method of building
a desire to learn. They camouflaged learning in the colors of discussion, making it seem as though
we simply were carrying on a normal discourse. But each class inevitably resulted in the acquisition
of a better understanding of the subject material. As a student, I found myself wanting to go to
these classes. The teachers who conducted these courses made education seem enjoyable and thus
created in students a desire to engage in further learning. As a future educator, I would like my
class to operate in a similar manner. I want my class to be one that students look forward to
attending. Mine will be an intellectually open classroom environment one in which

The Battle of Antietam Creek
The Battle of Antietam Creek was a very bloody and important battle in the Civil war. The battle
was fought by two different armies within the Union and the Confederacy, The Army of the

just to the east of the Potomac River in Maryland. The battle was fought on a hill just above the
west bank of Antietam Creek. The Army of the Potomac, who was on the offensive, was pushing

Themes Of Violence In Dante In Love, Dante Alighieri
Introduction
According to English writer, A. N. Wilson, in Dante in Love , Dante Alighieri,
A.N. Wilson s perspective of Dante Alighieri as a poet, as well as a madman
According to (Wilson 2011), Dante Alighieri, author of the Divine Comedy, is a man whom
resembled both a poet and a madman. Wilson briefly emphasises in, Dante in Love , the two
contrasting depictions from Leonardo Bruni and Giovanni Boccaccio, of whom Dante was with
regards to the role that he played within the Florentine society and how it influenced him as a poet
in his work. (Sayers 1949), asserts that the Divine Comedy is an allegorical poem, influenced by,
Dante s theological, political and personal background .

The circle is broken up further into three separate sections of whom these acts of violence can be
imposed on. These sins of violence is taken on three different forms being: performing harm on
other people, harm on oneself or harm on God, as explain by Vigil in the eleventh canto of the
Divine Comedy (Sayers, Dante The Divine Comedy 1: Hell 1949).
The relationship between violence and Dante as a poet
The violence portrayed in the poem
The relationship between violence and madness
In accordance with the scenes of violence found in Dante s Inferno, a link can be found in Wilson s
argument that violent scenes within the poem can justify the possibility of Dante being both a
poet, as well as a madman. Dante s Inferno, as emphasised by A. N. Wilson, is a popular and
exciting read not only from the unpredictability of order of events (Dante wrote Inferno without
have a clear vision of how the poem will end), but for the poem s, sheer brilliance and beauty of
its words, its music , as well as for its, unforgettable characterization (Wilson 2011).

The Correction Of Refractive Errors
Before considering the correction of refractive errors, one must first understand the basics of the
eye and how it uses the process of refraction to create visual images. The process of refraction
begins with light as it comes in from external sources, with the amount of light being regulated by
the pupil, the large, black, circular opening at the front of the eye. The size of one s pupil is further
regulated by the iris, the even larger, circular, colored part of the eye. Once light rays make
contact with the eye, they hit the cornea, the clear, dome shaped layer that covers the front of the
eyeball. When the light rays hit the cornea, the cornea bends (or refracts) them in a primary stage
which is followed up by the lens, a clear surface behind the pupil which further focuses the light
rays (now becoming an image) onto another essential part of the eye: the retina, which is located
along the back inside surface of the eyeball. The retina is a thin, delicate, photosensitive tissue that
contains the special photoreceptor cells that convert light into electrical signals ( How we see ).
These electrical signals act as messages that are further processed and then sent to the brain via the
optic nerve, a bundle of nerves that connect to the back of the eye. When they reach the brain, the
brain interprets them and they become the images that one sees. Therefore, at its core, vision truly
comes from the brain. Within this basic process of refraction in the

Psychology And The Theory Of Psychology
Psychology in a continuously growing tree with its roots stemming from the study of reality and
knowledge known as philosophy first studied by ancient Greece (Wiley 8). It can be defined as the
study of behaviours and mental processes in which behaviours are observable activities, and mental
processes include all internal thoughts and emotions. Psychologists often have one (or more) of
four goals in mind when they conduct research: describing, explaining, predicting, or controlling (5
6). Many great thinkers profoundly influenced psychologyincluding Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow,
Sigmund Freudand many others (Vickers).Various people throughout history contributed to
different approaches and belief systems. A few examples of these systems are: structuralism
focusing on mental processes, psychoanalysis focusing on the unconscious mind, behaviourism
focusing on the unconscious mind (Vickers). Although there are many belief systems, modern
psychologists share similar procedures and values known as the empirical method (Vickers).
Psychology is theory driven, seeks evidence, multi leveled, and contextual, unlike philosophy which
relies heavily on unproven beliefs, psychology aims to discover scientific information.
Psychologists approach ideas using the scientific methodbased on Sir Francis Bacon s emphasis on
minimizing bias (Wiley 29). They create hypotheses which according to Karl Popper must establish
observations that could be refutable (30). Unfortunately,

Modern Day Slavery And The Second Largest International...
Introduction
Human trafficking has been an ongoing business that can be tracked many years back. Today it is
considered to be modern day slavery and the second largest international organized crime industry.
It brings in billions of dollars annually. Often human trafficking can be defined as the forced or
coerced movement of people across national borders as well as within countries. Due to the increase
of cultural and economic globalization, human trafficking sky rockets every year. Common areas
victims are trafficked to parts of Asia, Europe and North America. Within the human trafficking
sector, there are three major subsets. Sexual trafficking, Labor trafficking, and Organ trafficking.
Sex trafficking is the largest subset within the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the some of the factors stated above, I believe that human trafficking will only get worse. In
my essay, I plan to discuss how these three countries are contributing to it, what theory I used to
conduct my research and how it relates to the topic, the level of analysis/structure, sectorial
processes, and my future prediction of human trafficking. Human Trafficking and Human
Smuggling are often confused. There is a distinct difference between the two. According to the
United States Department of States human smuggling is the facilitation, transportation, attempted
transportation or illegal entry of a person(s) across an international border, in violation of one or
more countries laws, either clandestinely or through deception, such as the use of fraudulent
documents. Human Trafficking is the trafficking of persons for the purpose of committing
commercial sex acts, or to subject them to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.
Structure/Level of Analysis/ Theory Although human trafficking is a global issue, the level of
analysis I chose was regional. In this paper I am focusing on the Mekong region, where Vietnam,
Cambodia, and Thailand are located. This region has a high amount of women and children that
are trafficked into the sex industry. The theory I chose for this topic is Kenneth Waltz. Waltz is a
neorealist and examines the international system from a top down view. He also looks at the
behavior of states,

Pakistan Is The Most Misunderstood Country
A country has been ranked second in the list of most negatively rated countries in the world by a
global poll for BBC World Service, which surveyed 24,090 people around the world in 2012. And
that country is Pakistan Land of Pure .
The area of Pakistan is 880,940 square km (340,133 square miles). It is divided into 4 provinces;
Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan along with federally administered areas.
The country shares borders with Afghanistan to the northwest, China to the north, India to the south
and east, and Iran to the west. The border with India is subject to dispute, with both nations
claiming the mountain regions of Kashmir and Jammu.
Pakistan is the most misunderstood country in the world and the phenomenon of terrorism and
religious extremism, arguably, is a leading factor in distorting its image on the global level.
Pakistan as a front line state in the war on terror has suffered the most in men and material, has
helped in dismantling the terrorist network of Osama bin Laden but regrettably our allies and
western countries look suspiciously at our endeavors, doubt our commitment to the cause at hand
and decidedly remain oblivious to our national and strategic interests in the region.
Pakistan is suffering from an acute image problem. No one disagrees not even I. Look at the
reports of terrorism emanating from our soil, splashed all across the global media; Pakistani
passport being reduced to a document that raises eyebrows at airports rather

Overcoming Homelessness
It is estimated that over a half million people in America are currently living without homes,
sleeping instead in crowded shelters, parks, bus stations, and other places not meant for human
accommodation. Many who are unfamiliar with this stigmatizing situation presume there is a
simple solution to this social crisis. Get a job! they say, attributing the homeless wretched situation
to laziness. However, overcoming homelessnessis not that simple. Contrary to popular belief, the
vast majority of vagrants do work or try to find work, but due to factors in the economy beyond
their control, they find homelessness nearly insurmountable. [economic aspects?] For many in
America, homelessness is nigh inescapable due to economic impediments such as the availability
/affordability of housing, the discrepancy between the cost of living and low income, and the
difficulty in securing a stable income. One major obstacle in overcoming homelessness is
obtaining a home itself. The decline in the availability and affordability of housing makes living in
a secure home a dream for many. Although there are homeless shelters, public housing, and
subsidized housing available, they are rather limited in space, not to mention typically ranging from
substandard to outright terrible conditions. Many who have tried living in shelters avoid it because
there are more problems living in one than on the street; there are often many problems living in a
shelter they report of, such as overcrowding,

Irony In Tamburlaine
The foolish king becomes a subject for laughter for his ironical thundering speech. The same irony
can be noticed in Cosroe s alliance with Tamburlaine. After they have defeated Mycetes,
Tamburlaine challenges Cosroe. The newly crowned king of Persia responds:
What means this devilish shepherd to aspire
With such a giantly presumption,
To cast up hills against the face of heaven,
And dare the force of angry Jupiter?
But as he thrust them underneath the hills,
And pressed out fire from their burning jaws,
So will I send this monstrous slave to hell,
Where flames shall ever feed upon his soul. (p.24)
However, Cosroe is defeated by Tamburlaine, just like Mycetes. Ironically, one of the reasons why
Cosroe has wanted to dethrone his brother is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And such are objects fit for Tamburlaine,
Wherein, as in a mirror, may be seen
His honor, that consists in shedding blood
When men presume to manage arms with him. (p.28)
Tamburlaine says that the deaths of Zabina and Bajazeth are mirrors that reflect his honour, much
to his please. Their deaths reflect more honour on themselves than on Tamburlaine. Earlier in Act
V, Tamburlaine, when attacking a city, has ordered the deaths of four virgins sent to him to plead
for Damascus. This is his habit to give a city that he attacks two days to decide to surrender. On
the third day, if no surrender is coming, he destroys the city. On the third day of the siege of
Damascus, the four virgins are sent out in hopes that their innocence can persuade Tamburlaine to
spare the city. He asks them what they see on the point of his sword and, when they answer that
they see fear and steel, Tamburlaine says,
Your fearful minds are thick and misty then,
For there sit Death; there sits imperious Death,
Keeping his circuit by the slicing edge.
But I am pleased you shall not see him

The Basics Behind Qualitative Research
Fundamentals of Qualitative Research
Jamye D. Jeter Cameron
Submitted to
Dr. Curtis Maybee
University of Phoenix
Fundamentals of Qualitative Research When a researcher sets out to begin a study, he or she must
begin by asking questions of him or herself. These questions lead to the determination of the type
of research study the researcher is going to conduct. The study may be based on qualitative research
, quantitative research, or both. But, in order to determine the study method and design choice, the
researcher needs to see what is fueling his or her research question. Research questions based on
quantitative research focuses on obtaining data that can be measured, usually in some form or
numerical/statistical manner (Leedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Leedy amp; Ormrod, 2010, there are three major sources of data for qualitative
studies interviews, observations, and documents (p. 23). If is up to the researcher to determine
what process of research is best for the study he or she is conducting. There are times when only
one method is used, but then there are times when more than one method is used. However, the
researcher may identify his or her primary method (Rubin, 2007). It is also possible to utilize the
internet and worldwide web to collect information for the study also. After the data is collected,
the researcher must be able to analyze the data. The truth is the data analysis is usually
simultaneous with the data collection stage (Rubin, 2007). From the time the first interview takes
place or observation begins, the researcher should already be analyzing what he or she has
learned. By doing so, the researcher can eliminate the possibility of being overwhelmed with
information at the conclusion of the data collection process. While analyzing, the information
collected, the researcher can break up what he or she learns into categories (Leedy amp; Ormrod,
2010). The use of these categories will help identify any patterns of behavior or occurrence that
may exist.

Chris Going Into The Wild
The result of one s nose
Stress has and always will be a necessary part of life. Without stress, one can fall victim to the
allure of cowardice and die because of their choices. Chris is a perfect example of a coward looking
to escape the woes of everyday life. Like every other human, Chris must cope with daily stress. If
one looks at Chris s arduous life of a loving family, pristine home, and family vacations it is
blatantly obvious why Chris felt the need to run away from the life his parents forge for him
with their blood, sweat, and tears. One can only speculate the reason behind Chris going into the
wild is because Chris is an arrogant, self centered, cowardly person whose actions lead to Chris s
demise and change his fragile family s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chris goes into the wild with nothing but a few odds and ends that will be irrelevant in saving
the life Chris is so heart set on destroying. The first time Chris goes into the wild Chris is lucky
and escapes unscathed. As a result, Chris s ego becomes over inflated and Chris sees the harsh
world as his to own. When Chris spends time with other people, he observes their lifestyle.
However, while observing other peoples lives Chris acts disconnected, as though he were above
other peoples lives. Chris s father even admits during an interview that Chris didn t think that
the odds applied to him. We were always trying to pull him back from the edge . From Walt s
statement, one can see Chris is arrogant and always has been. As a child, Chris s parents kept his
arrogance in check, making Chris incapable of allowing his arrogant nature to shine. Chris s
parents efforts to quell their son s arrogance created a person who despised his parents for their
good natured efforts. Despite Chris s parents best efforts, Chris s unconquerable arrogance kills him
and rips Chris s parents life to shreds. According to speaker, author, and psychologist Dr. Joshua
Coleman, parents can do everything right for their children and be the best parent they can be, but
despite their greatest efforts their children can still turn on them and hurt their parents

Argumentative Essay On Dog Parks
Do you have a dog? Do you ever want to bring your dog somewhere they can have safe fun? A dog
park is a great place to bring your dogs that is safe, there is many benefits of dog parks. A dog park
is a fenced in place for dogs to play, get exercise, and make friends. The community needs one, so
there s a place for owners and dogs can go. Dogs can get exercise off leash that is normally hard to
do safely. Many people hear the bad rap about dogparks like that there s many dog fights, it s not
clean, and people don t watch their dogs. Actually dog parks are very good, if they are run right.
Both would benefit, if there would be rules and safety restriction to make the park fun and safe.

There would need to be rules and restrictions so it would run well. First thing Glenwood would
have to do is find a location for the park. It needs to be a big open area, that could be fenced in. It
should be close to houses for easy access but not to close where it s too loud for the neighborhood
(Weiss Roessler para 6). A perfect place in Glenwood would be in Barsness park on the north end, it
s a big grassy open area. It s in town but not too close to houses, it across the street from the lake,
and close to the camp ground so visitors can access it easily. The second thing Glenwood would
need to do is to write up rules so the park is orderly and safe. Some rules may be like, Clean up and
dispose of feces left by your dog (Dog Park Rules para 2). Simple rules like this will keep the park
clean and safe. The rule should be listed on a sign at the park and must be followed. The sign
should have rules for the dogs and the owners (Sheeketski para 7). A rule for the human could be
like, the owner should be watching at all times, and the dog rules could be that there are no
aggressive dogs allowed. Those are just two simple rules that will make the park better. The last
thing Glenwood would need is people to work together. To get the park going there needs to be a
group of people willing to talk to town officials, fund, and help run it. A group would have to go
talk to the city and get it approved with them, the more people the more the city is going to
believe that it is great idea (Weiss Roessler para 4). More dog loving people will have to help
fund the park, the city may help. If the city doesn t totally fund it there can be fundraisers that
will help pay for the fencing, the sign of rules and anything else in the park (Para 6). After the
park is up and running there should be volunteers to help run it, they could stop by and make sure
it is clean and be the ones to contact if there are any issues with the park. The park

Gender Stereotypes In Mean Girls
Mean Girls is a comedy, yet accurate portrayal of the body image issues that high school girls
face today. This movie is more than just high school clique and popularity; it is critical
representation of the boundaries women in our society are not allowed to cross. Societal
monstrous expectation of female bodies has led to a problematic matter of self acceptance.
Berreby extends this view in his essay Rituals and Traditions: It Takes a Tribe where he
mentions the idea of us vs. them in which he states that society has created the idea that if one
does not act in a certain way, they are automatically considered them . Furthermore, it is essential
to acknowledge that stereotypes found in movies like Mean Girls, although a classic
Hollywood movie, provokes a critical view of women and contributes to perpetuate traditional
gender stereotypes as it reflects dominant social values. The scene that best represents this idea
is where the Plastics are at the Old Orchard Mall when they see that Jason and Taylor hanging
out. This is when Regina steps up for her cliques and decides to hurt Taylor s reputation for
hanging out with Jason because Jason should only be with Plastics. So, she could keep the
status and power of Plastics. Following that event, the Plastics and Cady go over at Regina s
house where Cady meets Regina s abnormal mother. They go to Regina s room and this is when
the Plastics judge their bodies while looking at themselves in the mirror and Cady seems to be
shocked by the number of flaws they point out in their selves. At this point, the camera shows
the social distance between Cady and the Plastics separating Cady from the Plastics as Cady
finds it hard to believe that perfect girls like the Plastics can find flaws in them. Throughout the
movie, the group is known as Plastics to characterize them as plastic figures because plastic
figures do not have flaws. In reality, the Plastics are constantly critiquing their body even though
students see them as being perfect. Cady is new to this, I used to think there was just fat and
skinny. But apparently there s lots of things that can be wrong with your body. Cady s use of this
dialogue addresses the idea of how it is impossible to become the

Short-Term Memory Loss in Finding Nemo s Dori
The beloved Disney movie Finding Nemo features both a colorful underwater landscape and a
psychologically diverse cast of characters. From the obsessive Bubbles (a fish obsessed with
bubbles) and Gurgle (the germophobic fish at the dentists office), to the shark trio that refuses to
eat fish, and the confused Deb, who thinks her reflection is actually her twin sister, Flo, most of
the characters in the movie seem to exhibit some sort of quirky condition. Nemo himself has a
physical disability (his lucky fin ) that he learns to overcome in order to develop self confidence.
Marlin also exhibits anxiety and trust issues, which he overcomes throughout the course of the
movie. One of the main characters, Dory, has a specific disability that she must learn to adapt to in
order to complete her journey: short term memory loss. Dory is perhaps the most beloved character
in Finding Nemobecause she has such a big heart and radiates optimism despite (and possibly
because of) her struggles with short term memory loss. When we first meet Dory, she clumsily
swims into a frantic Marlin, who is searching for his recently lost son. Dory agrees to help him

mistakes Marlin for a stalker, quickly becoming defensive, much to Marlin s confusion. Luckily she

Despite the frustration that arises every time one realizes that he or she would arrive at a
location later, this device serves a crucial role in modern society. To begin, the brief pause in one
s journey caused by this object can contribute more to society than merely regulate the flow of
traffic. According to research done in Australia, traffic lights aid people to conserve this planet s
air quality (DumГ©). Since traffic lights control the movement of traffic and tell drivers when it
is appropriate to move their vehicles, one would be able to maintain the motion of this automobile
more smoothly. This action would allow the transportation system from releasing excessive car
emissions, which are discharged when a vehicle unexpectedly and necessarily brakes, stops, or
accelerates. Moreover, the traffic light serves an essential purpose in society, which is public
safety (Why Are Traffic Lights So Important?). The most frequent accidents are caused by the lack
of infrastructure (World Health Organization). Therefore, to retain order and more safety, there
must be more fundamental rules, like traffic lights, which could physically be seen by a driver so
he or she would restrain from moving the position of his or her vehicle at a certain point. Finally,

Conflict In Graphic Novel Persepolis
Satrapi s graphic novel, Persepolis, depicts the coming of age story of Marjane and her experiences
before, during, and after the Iranian war. In the course of Marjane s experiences, she frequently
encounters conflict and the hardships that ensue when growing up. Nevertheless, these hardships
are major factors that shape Marjane as a character and establish the context of the novel. Satrapi
uses the graphic novel conventions and literary devices to convey conflicts of Marjane that are

NSA Persuasive Essay
Since the Edward Snowden leak in 2013, the controversy over NSA surveillance has focused on
the invasion of privacy of United States citizens. Specifically the bulk collection programs that have
picked up American phone data, even of those who haven t done anything wrong. This invasion of
privacy has been deemed unconstitutional by many and for good reason.
In recent years, the NSA controversy has become more eminent, mostly due to the Edward
Snowden Leak in 2013. This leak revealed sensitive information about the NSA tracking the
movements of millions of people using cell phone metadata and the action of the NSA
intercepting and storing data on billions of people all over the world. More recently, in 2015, key
provisions of the Patriot Act, a law intended to help the United States government detect and
prevent acts of terrorism or the sponsorship of terrorist organizations, were debated over whether
or not they should be allowed to expire. Due to their mass cellphone data collection program, other
programs involving the wiretapping of suspects, and more that were possible threats to the privacy
of U.S. citizen s, there was substantial discourse about what to do with these key provisions. These
key provisions, specifically, Section 215, were renewed until 2019, with the exception of the mass
collection of phone data, which was revised with more restrictions because it was the most
controversial.

Introduction In order to run a successful company, the company will need to understand how
much is being spent and how is the money being utilized. When a company creates a financial

direction the company maybe going. This will also allow company to see if they are gaining or

Character Analysis Of The Wonder Woman In The Superman
The difficult thing when adapting a comic is looking closely at the source material. Wonder
Woman was sort of a campy character who would look pretty ridiculous running around on the
street. Yeah, Lynda Carter rocked it back in the day, but she still looks ridiculous. Somehow, Patty
Jenkins and crew managed to not only make a great superheromovie with a female lead, but also a
great war movie. A great World War 1 movie! The last time we had a WW1 movie that took this
much care was War Horse, and that movie wasn t very good.
Premise: Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons,
trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an
American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that s raging in the outside
world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting
alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
This is the first time I walked out of a movie in the DC Extended Universe where I finally felt they
did something right, and after watching Gal Gadot debut in Batman v Superman, it also retroactively
makes that movie look better when you learn of her motivations in that film. I d explain it, but that
would really kill the realization when you see the film.

unpredictable move, the young ones turned out to be matured enough to realize their guilt, to the
extent of them arguing and shouting at their own narrow minded parents. The elders their parents

The second contrast lies between the upper and lower class. Priestley differentiated Eva Smith
from Daisy Renton; for each symbolizes a different social status Eva represented the struggling
workers while Daisy represented the pregnant prostitutes. Synecdoche was used in Edna, the
maid and Eva Smith to signify the working class, and the lowest class using Daisy Renton and
her unborn baby John. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by
saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to
extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and
assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments.
Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War 2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he
denied that both would happen; I m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I
say there isn t a chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the
Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. This emphasizes what a narrow minded,
pompous snub Mr. Birling was. The final contrast could be presented between socialism and
capitalism. Mr. Birling

Essay about A Tragic Demise in Short Story, Paul s Caseby ...
Paul s Case is a short story by Willa Cather that was written in 1905. Paul is boy in high school
that has many behavior problems. He strives for attention so badly that he feels that he needs to
show out in order to receive the recognition that he wants, especially from his father. Willa Cather
uses symbolism in her short storyto develop the tragic demise of Paul. The symbolism used in the
first paragraph is repeated throughout the story. The red carnation that Paul has placed in the
buttonhole symbolizes his unreal desire to become recognized. The carnation is very flamboyant
and is not appropriate attire for the discipline meeting that Paul is having with the principal of his
school and all of his teachers that also have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On one side of the glass is the harsh reality that is Paul s life, while on the other side is the fantasy
that Paul pictures himself fitting into.
The flowers in the story symbolize Paul s place in the dream. He sees himself as the final piece
his perfect life. When Paul comes arrives in the city, he spots that there are not any flowers in his
room and orders for someone to retrieve some. Paul places them in water, and then gets into a
bath himself. When he was shown to his sitting room on the eighth floor, he saw at a glance that
was as it should be; there was but one detail in his mental picture that the place did not realize, so
he rang for the bell boy and sent him down for flowers... When the flowers came, he put them
hastily into water, and then tumbled into a hot bath (544 545). Paul feels like the flowers are
needed to complete the mental image he has of his perfect life. In the room, there were no flowers,
showing that Paul was not in the dream. His getting the flowers, symbolizes that he had finally
placed himself in the dream.
Towards the end of the story, Paul takes a walk in the park where he sees flowers blooming in a
glass case. This symbolizes that it is not possible for Paul s dream to be actuality , or at least under
his circumstances. Here and there on the corners were stands, with whole flower gardens booming
under glass cases, against the sides of which the snow flakes stuck and melted; violets, roses,

Comparison Essay of The Yellow Wallpaper and The Story...

Essay
The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and The Story of an Hour by Kate
Chopin are two different stories with the women both suffering from an illness. One of the
women are sufferering from a mental illness and the other physical, and both are bery emotionally
detached from their husbands. In An Story of an Hour Mrs. Mallard is at first devistated from her
husbands death but soon realizes this means she is free from him, and in The Yellow Wallpaper it
seems that John is very controlling and doesn t pay true attention to his wife. The illnesses of both
the
women affect their relationships in very similar ways.
To begin, though two different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It
is evident in An Story of an Hour that the protagonist lead a very sheltered life due to her illness and
people often too caution, but it is also evident that she wished to be free and to live her life despite
her
restriction because of her illness. Though her husband may love her on some level he still keeps her
confined to that house in the name of her health. The contrilling spouse in an emotionally abusive
3
relationship usually makes major decision, such as where to live and how to furnish the home. The
protagonist in The Yellow Wallpaper wants to take another room but John would not hear of it
(p119). He didn t undertand or chose to ignore the fact that the wallpaper in her room was affecting
her
mental state. These evidential factors all lead to emotional abuse, using the two women s illnesses as
excuses for their actions.
Both women in the stories suffer from an illness, both physical and mental, an extent in both
stories. Though there is emotional detachment, there is still some form of love, though it may have
lead
to spousal abuse. Though their husbands were taking action for their illnesses it seems that the
husbands only thought of their wives by their illnesses, not as a person having one. This caused a
great
disconnect and in the end causing a great emotional rift to be caused between husband and wife, and
making both of their lives harder

Development Of Optical Imaging Tools For Synapse Typing Essay
Development of Optical Imaging Tools for Synapse Typing
Restructure of synapse types and alternations of dynamics of neurotransmitters and
neuromodulators have been implicated in a number of human neurological and psychiatric diseases,
including autism, Alzheimer s disease, Parkinson s disease, schizophrenia, and addiction1,2.
However, little is known about how molecular compositions define different types and functions of
synapses and how different synapses organize in micro and macroscale to give rise to complex brain
functions and disorders, due to lack of appropriate tools to characterize synaptic biomolecules in
situ in large scale. Here, I propose a novel research program to develop transformative tools for large
scale mapping of synaptic biomolecules, functional imaging of neurotransmission and neuronal
signaling. Specifically, it will evolve along three main themes: 1. Expansion pathology for highly
multiplexed, in situ and nanoscale biomolecular imaging. 2. Optogenetic neurotransmitter indicator;
3. in situ imaging tools for endogenous protein protein interaction; This program will expand on the
themes of my previous work on engineering optogenetic indicators for neuronal activities, such as
calcium ions3,4 and voltage5,6 indicators, as well as my current work on devising a clinically
optimized form of expansion microscopy7,8, which contribute new capabilities to the broader
communities of neuroscience, cell biology, pathology and medicine.

The Philosophy Of St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Thomas Aquinas was an influential philosopher who strongly incorporated faith into his
philosophy. In his Summa Theologiae, Aquinas uses his own arguments along with those of both
Aristotle and Plato to strengthen his claims. First and foremost, Aquinas uses his own philosophy
to back the Christian faith and the existence of God. However, Aquinas also extends his argument
past the initial claim of God and Christianity, and it is here where he uses these other influential
philosophers to help support his claims and arguments. Right away in Basic Works, Aquinas jumps
straight to the biggest issue regarding religion does God exist? Immediately in his philosophical
argumentation he focuses on his faith. Regarding this question, Aquinas first explains the notion
God being self evident. Aquinas divides propositions into two categories being propositions that
are self evident in themselves but which are not known to us because we do not know what the
terms of the proposition really mean, and propositions which are self evident in themselves and
known to us because we do. Aquinas goes on to explain that the proposition that God exists is self
evident in itself because the predicate is identical with the subject and that since we don t know
what God is, the proposition is not self evident to us but rather must be demonstrated to us though
what is more evident to us (Question 2, Article 1). Aquinas goes on to explain that there are two
types of demonstrations with one

Uses And Uses Of Photosynthesis
Introduction:
Photosynthesis is a process that plants use to create glucose by utilizing sunlight, carbon dioxide,
and water. The pigments in a plant absorb light by way of photosynthesis and each pigment can
absorb different colors but will reflect green light because it does not really absorb it. Therefore,
plants always appear to have a green color. Plants have four pigments that were tested in this
exercise called carotenoids such as carotenes/xanthophyll, also pigments chlorophyll a and
chlorophyll b. Chlorophyll a absorbs blue/violet light, chlorophyll b absorbs red/blue light, and
carotene absorbs blue green/violet colors. Oxygen is after product of photosynthesis along with
glucose which is used later in cellular respiration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One table was used to describe how photosynthesis would occur with regular white light and one
that was covered which measured the rate of cellular respiration. The other table describes the rate
of photosynthesis and gross photosynthesis of green/white light. The table for green/white light was
measured with accuracy with a volumeter tube. By analyzing the data, it can be confirmed that
green light did not perform photosynthesis as fast as white light and white light performed
photosynthesis creating oxygen more rapidly than the tube that had no light.
Discussion:
The second hypothesis on the rate of photosynthesis (green/white light) was correct because the
data in the table above states that the rate of photosynthesis (which was measured in volumeters)
was higher in the tube that was exposed to white light. The green light produced much slower rate
results for photosynthesis because the color was not really absorbed very well. Plants use all
colors of light to use photosynthesis except for green light. This means all wavelengths of light are
used to make oxygen except for the green wavelength. One source of error in this experiment was
the results for photosynthesis with light. The foil kept

Have you ever been to Myrtle Beach during jellyfish season? It is terrible. When you get within
about 50 feet of the water you have to watch every step. Even with jellyfish everywhere, I still
like the beach. They rest of my family hated being stung, but I kept telling them, suck it up and
spray vinegar on it. The waves were perfect for surfing and skimming. Skimming is like surfing,
but you run into the water with a four to five feet long board then you jumpon the board. When you
get in the water and a wave comes, you spin yourself around and head back to shore. It took me a
day before I could do it, but after that I was fine until I fell or got stung on the bottom of my foot.
The first day, I grabbed my board and started to run downstairs ... Show more content on

When I fell, I fell on the same big scrape on my knee that had just scabbed over. The cut broke
open again and it took even more layers off of my knee. Blood started running down my leg, but
I did not notice, so I just kept skimming. When the salty, ocean water splashed on the open cut, I
knew that it was way worse than It had been before. I looked down to see how bad it was, and
the whole front of my leg was red. I ran up to my mom and she freaked out. What happened? Are
you okay? You need to go wash that off! I ll go get the lifeguard. I went up to the shower, where
you wash the sand off your feet, to wash off all of the blood. Then I went to the lifeguard to get a
bandage. The lifeguard was really nice, but he did not speak very good English. He was from
Poland. My mom was sitting next to me and my grandma was on the other side of my mom. My
mom was leaning toward taking pictures as usual. My grandma was trying to see him but my
mom was in the way. Down in front woman! my grandma whispered angrily at my mom. This
was the closest my grandma had been to the lifeguard, so she was really happy. After he cleaned
my knee, I went back up to the hotel room. I could not shower because my knee was so bad, so I
had to use a hotel cup to get the seawater out of my hair. I put my pajamas on and went to the
lobby to watch television. My family came to the lobby when it got dark, and we ordered pizza for

The Theory Of The Climbers On Mount Everest
Tony Blair once said, The art of leadership is saying no, not yes. It is very easy to say yes.
Expedition Behavior stems from the overall tone set forth by the leader, however trusting all
participants to model the leader s standards is difficult. Both positive and negative expedition
behavior may be present on trips. The members of the team must learn to effectively discuss
concerns and celebrations as a group in order to inform the entire company of certain situations.
Arguing or ignoring requests from the leader results in bad expedition behavior, whereas trusting or
conferring anxieties appropriately with the leader usually develops into good expedition behavior.
In the case of the climbers on Mount Everest, both examples were present in the varying climbers.
Each member struggled with trials and tribulations and the end result paralleled the expedition
behavior expressed throughout the tremendously burdensome and laborious journey. The first
climber, Tim, displayed bad expedition behavior by arguing and ignoring Russell s commands. To
begin with, Tim left from camp twenty minutes later than planned, therefore resulting in a delay of
plans. Once Tim had started his trek up the mountain, he was trapped behind an injured climber
from another party. The additional delay lead to Tim running low on Oxygen, possible development
of frostbite, exhaustion. All of these factors contributed to Russell s decision for Tim to return to
camp without finishing the climb to the

On Epistemology and Skepticism Essay
Epistemology is purposed with discovering and studying what knowledge is and how we can
classify what we know, how we know it, and provide some type of framework for how we arrived
at this conclusion. In the journey to identify what knowledge is the certainty principle was one of
the first concepts that I learned that explained how we, as humans, consider ourselves to know
something. The certainty concept suggests that knowledge requires evidence that is sufficient to
rule out the possibility of error. This concept is exemplified in cases like The Gettier problem in
the instance that we suppose (S) someone to know (P) a particular proposition. As Gettier
established the Justified True Belief as a conceptual formula for knowledge, certainty... Show more

Skepticism in general says that we do not know many propositions about the external world that
we naturally take ourselves to know. Descartes affirms skepticism by analyzing beliefs as
knowledge. Meditations seeks to find a solution to the notion of if one doubts a belief, can it be
considered knowledge?
Descartes first submits that it is not necessary to show all beliefs are false to satisfy the
knowledge condition. He adds that if in each belief there is doubt that we can conclude that all
things that we believe can be considered false knowledge. He seeks to prove this by setting a
precondition that we cannot critique all beliefs, just the ones that govern our life or that serve
as a broad component of belief. Descartes then provides context to where beliefs come from and
states that beliefs are created from senses or through senses. He then states that senses are false
because they are deceptive and shouldn t be trusted which is the first cause of being able to
doubt a belief. This idea in my opinion is the argument of Reality vs. Virtually, which is what we
encounter through our experiences vs. what we dream about. The question posed is that we doubt
our beliefs because we do not know if what we perceive from our senses is true. The example
provided in the Meditations text dealt with imagination and the Dream world concept. If I perceive
something in the

Major Challenges of Organizational Management
MAJOR CHALLENGES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT
There are a number of differences between FMC s Aberdeen and Green River, the two facilities
of discussion. One may assume, therefore, that managerial styles, business practices, and other
aspects of business and the employees involved, would be very different from one another. On the
other hand, it is quite possible to use very similar styles of doing business and managing a
company, despite differences in the company, as a good style of managing, and good practices
would assist any business in succeeding. Management, employees and productivity being the main
focus s at hand, one may first want to review these differences between the two facilities. To begin
with, the facility in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Good communication between all management levels and employees is also necessary in keeping
any business running efficiently. Again, seeing as how the Aberdeen facility has already
established these practices, and has them running smoothly, they need only to maintain them and
increase innovation with the times.
If I were to use an analogy to describe these two types of managerial styles, I would state that the
original style of managing was like a pyramid, and this new style of managing was a linked
chain. The pyramid is dependent on all of its members, but there is a definite sense of
superiority, as the higher management levels shrink down in numbers, but tower over all else.
This pyramid, upon producing positive results, is viewed by others as having produced them due
to the excellence of the peak of the pyramid, with very little or no recognition at the bottom of
said pyramid. The linked chain on the other hand, though still managed with upper and lower
levels, reacts more as a team, giving those involved more recognition for their accomplishments.
People who are recognized as such, and appreciated for their individual strengths, may be more
likely to utilize these strengths and feel that they are a part of the company, rather than a pawn of
the company. There is something very positive to be said for this type of thinking, if everyone on

Revolution In Xinjiang, Chechnya, And Quebec
Revolution is a common part of life, from the relatively simple revolution of changing your
individual life, to a nation becoming severing the ties that bind it to its past. Xinjiang,
Chechnya, and Quebec are all areas that have experienced revolution on a massive scale.
However, not all of them followed the same ideal of revolution. First, in Xinjiang, the revolution
was brought about by the heavy influx of Han Chinese into the Uighurs territory. This caused
them to feel marginalized politically, and also made them feel as if their very culture and
independence were being threatened. The Uighurs reacted to these feelings by going down a
violent path, rioting and fighting for what they perceive to be incursions on their rights. Now,
even 50 years later, there is still conflict in the region, with the Chinese Army having to quell a
riot just as recently as 2009. Next, in Chechnya, following along the same lines of political
conflicts as Xinjiang, just with a dose of economic and cultural for good measure, the revolution
was brought about by the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. After the fall of the USSR and Russia
losing its status as a world superpower, Chechnya tried to abandon ship, so to speak. They failed in
securing their sovereignty, and in attempting it, caused both... Show more content on

Though the beginning of the separatist movement was marred by fighting and violence, the vast
majority of the conflict has been a political one. The reason for the revolution in Quebec stems
from the restrictions placed upon the populace by the English. These restrictions were on both the
language and culture of the Quebecois, and caused them to feel trapped in under the English rule,
for lack of a better term. This revolution is on a much less certain foot than the others however, with
many of the younger citizens not remember the restrictions of days

The artwork is The Wheel of Life and was originally designed by Buddha and is seen in Tibetan
Buddhism.
2.Artist and Motivation
The Wheel of Life was originally created by Buddha and is the most important painting in Tibetan
Buddhism. He wanted the design to be shown in front of every monastery and Buddhist temple so
his philosophy and teachings couldn t be learnt by those who were illiterate (I Tibet Travel, 2017).
It is often painted on cotton, silk applique, or human skin, this process is called Thangka and is
done by Tibetan Buddhists.

Representing greed, hatred and delusion the animals in the middle of the wheel are the three
spiritual poisons of Buddha s philosophy (I Tibet Travel, 2017). The six realms represent the
reincarnation of a person into each individual stage. The heavenly realm contains beings who
relish great power, prosperity and longevity. They are blind to the suffering of others due to their
high status and privilege. The second realm is the realm of jealousy, in which beings are
continuously aspiring to be superior and have no tolerance for underlings. The realm of hungry
ghosts is associated with compulsion, obsession and addiction. They are constantly looking to fulfil
the desire within with materialistic objects. Beings in the hell realm, have a hot temper that makes
them angry at everything, and they push away those who express affection and kindness for them.
The animal realm is recognised by its prejudgment, stupidity and self righteousness. Beings in this
realm avoid uneasiness, the unaccustomed and live comfortable lives. The human realm is the
only realm from which one can leave samsara (O Brien, 2017). Depicting Yama as the carrier of
the wheel shows that everyone must escape the reoccurring cycle of death and rebirth, just as
Buddha did. Therefore, he is shown outside of the wheel as he has reached enlightenment and

I believe that I can help them to see the process of schooling as an experience that is both interesting and enlightening. What follows is my interpretation of the teaching profession. It details the methodological and ideological frameworks that I would use to construct a learning experience that is meaningful for students. When looking back on high school, I realize that I typically learned more from teachers who made their classes interesting. By doing so, these educators utilized student interest as method of building a desire to learn. They camouflaged learning in the colors of discussion, making it seem as though we simply were carrying on a normal discourse. But each class inevitably resulted in the acquisition of a better understanding of the subject material. As a student, I found myself wanting to go to these classes. The teachers who conducted these courses made education seem enjoyable and thus created in students a desire to engage in further learning. As a future educator, I would like my class to operate in a similar manner. I want my class to be one that students look forward to attending. • 16. The Correction Of Refractive Errors Before considering the correction of refractive errors, one must first understand the basics of the eye and how it uses the process of refraction to create visual images. The process of refraction begins with light as it comes in from external sources, with the amount of light being regulated by the pupil, the large, black, circular opening at the front of the eye. The size of one s pupil is further regulated by the iris, the even larger, circular, colored part of the eye. Once light rays make contact with the eye, they hit the cornea, the clear, dome shaped layer that covers the front of the eyeball. When the light rays hit the cornea, the cornea bends (or refracts) them in a primary stage which is followed up by the lens, a clear surface behind the pupil which further focuses the light rays (now becoming an image) onto another essential part of the eye: the retina, which is located along the back inside surface of the eyeball. The retina is a thin, delicate, photosensitive tissue that contains the special photoreceptor cells that convert light into electrical signals ( How we see ). These electrical signals act as messages that are further processed and then sent to the brain via the optic nerve, a bundle of nerves that connect to the back of the eye. When they reach the brain, the brain interprets them and they become the images that one sees. Therefore, at its core, vision truly comes from the brain. Psychology And The Theory Of Psychology Psychology in a continuously growing tree with its roots stemming from the study of reality and knowledge known as philosophy first studied by ancient Greece (Wiley 8). It can be defined as the study of behaviours and mental processes in which behaviours are observable activities, and mental processes include all internal thoughts and emotions. Psychologists often have one (or more) of four goals in mind when they conduct research: describing, explaining, predicting, or controlling (5 6). Many great thinkers profoundly influenced psychologyincluding Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow, Sigmund Freudand many others (Vickers).Various people throughout history contributed to different approaches and belief systems. A few examples of these systems are: structuralism focusing on mental processes, psychoanalysis focusing on the unconscious mind, behaviourism focusing on the unconscious mind (Vickers). Although there are many belief systems, modern psychologists share similar procedures and values known as the empirical method (Vickers). Psychology is theory driven, seeks evidence, multi leveled, and contextual, unlike philosophy which relies heavily on unproven beliefs, psychology aims to discover scientific information. Psychologists approach ideas using the scientific methodbased on Sir Francis Bacon s emphasis on minimizing bias (Wiley 29). Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling are often confused. There is a distinct difference between the two. According to the United States Department of States human smuggling is the facilitation, transportation, attempted transportation or illegal entry of a person(s) across an international border, in violation of one or more countries laws, either clandestinely or through deception, such as the use of fraudulent documents. Human Trafficking is the trafficking of persons for the purpose of committing commercial sex acts, or to subject them to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery. Many who are unfamiliar with this stigmatizing situation presume there is a simple solution to this social crisis. Get a job! they say, attributing the homeless wretched situation to laziness. However, overcoming homelessnessis not that simple. Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of vagrants do work or try to find work, but due to factors in the economy beyond their control, they find homelessness nearly insurmountable. [economic aspects?] For many in America, homelessness is nigh inescapable due to economic impediments such as the availability /affordability of housing, the discrepancy between the cost of living and low income, and the difficulty in securing a stable income. One major obstacle in overcoming homelessness is obtaining a home itself. The decline in the availability and affordability of housing makes living in a secure home a dream for many. Although there are homeless shelters, public housing, and subsidized housing available, they are rather limited in space, not to mention typically ranging from substandard to outright terrible conditions. Jeter Cameron Submitted to Dr. Curtis Maybee University of Phoenix Fundamentals of Qualitative Research When a researcher sets out to begin a study, he or she must begin by asking questions of him or herself. These questions lead to the determination of the type of research study the researcher is going to conduct. The study may be based on qualitative research , quantitative research, or both. If is up to the researcher to determine what process of research is best for the study he or she is conducting. There are times when only one method is used, but then there are times when more than one method is used. However, the researcher may identify his or her primary method (Rubin, 2007). It is also possible to utilize the internet and worldwide web to collect information for the study also. After the data is collected, the researcher must be able to analyze the data. The truth is the data analysis is usually simultaneous with the data collection stage (Rubin, 2007). From the time the first interview takes place or observation begins, the researcher should already be analyzing what he or she has learned. By doing so, the researcher can eliminate the possibility of being overwhelmed with information at the conclusion of the data collection process. While analyzing, the information collected, the researcher can break up what he or she learns into categories (Leedy amp; Ormrod, 2010). The use of these categories will help identify any patterns of behavior or occurrence that may exist. References Jenkins, L. (2009). • 30. Gender Stereotypes In Mean Girls Mean Girls is a comedy, yet accurate portrayal of the body image issues that high school girls face today. This movie is more than just high school clique and popularity; it is critical representation of the boundaries women in our society are not allowed to cross. Societal monstrous expectation of female bodies has led to a problematic matter of self acceptance. Berreby extends this view in his essay Rituals and Traditions: It Takes a Tribe where he mentions the idea of us vs. them in which he states that society has created the idea that if one does not act in a certain way, they are automatically considered them . Furthermore, it is essential to acknowledge that stereotypes found in movies like Mean Girls, although a classic Hollywood movie, provokes a critical view of women and contributes to perpetuate traditional gender stereotypes as it reflects dominant social values. The scene that best represents this idea is where the Plastics are at the Old Orchard Mall when they see that Jason and Taylor hanging out. This is when Regina steps up for her cliques and decides to hurt Taylor s reputation for hanging out with Jason because Jason should only be with Plastics. So, she could keep the status and power of Plastics. Following that event, the Plastics and Cady go over at Regina s house where Cady meets Regina s abnormal mother. They go to Regina s room and this is when the Plastics judge their bodies while looking at themselves in the mirror and Cady seems to be shocked by the number of flaws they point out in their selves. At this point, the camera shows the social distance between Cady and the Plastics separating Cady from the Plastics as Cady finds it hard to believe that perfect girls like the Plastics can find flaws in them. Throughout the movie, the group is known as Plastics to characterize them as plastic figures because plastic figures do not have flaws. In reality, the Plastics are constantly critiquing their body even though students see them as being perfect. Cady is new to this, I used to think there was just fat and skinny. To begin, the brief pause in one s journey caused by this object can contribute more to society than merely regulate the flow of traffic. According to research done in Australia, traffic lights aid people to conserve this planet s air quality (DumГ©). Since traffic lights control the movement of traffic and tell drivers when it is appropriate to move their vehicles, one would be able to maintain the motion of this automobile more smoothly. This action would allow the transportation system from releasing excessive car emissions, which are discharged when a vehicle unexpectedly and necessarily brakes, stops, or accelerates. Moreover, the traffic light serves an essential purpose in society, which is public safety (Why Are Traffic Lights So Important?). The most frequent accidents are caused by the lack of infrastructure (World Health Organization). Therefore, to retain order and more safety, there must be more fundamental rules, like traffic lights, which could physically be seen by a driver so he or she would restrain from moving the position of his or her vehicle at a certain point. Finally, although traffic lights were invented to ensure that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the course of Marjane s experiences, she frequently encounters conflict and the hardships that ensue when growing up. Nevertheless, these hardships are major factors that shape Marjane as a character and establish the context of the novel. Satrapi uses the graphic novel conventions and literary devices to convey conflicts of Marjane that are within herself, with man (in the form of her teachers), and with society. Firstly, pages 70 71 demonstrate Marjane s inner conflict with her emotions, beliefs, and mind after the loss of her uncle. In order to convey the grief, Marjane feels, Satrapi draws a ... Specifically the bulk collection programs that have picked up American phone data, even of those who haven t done anything wrong. This invasion of privacy has been deemed unconstitutional by many and for good reason. In recent years, the NSA controversy has become more eminent, mostly due to the Edward Snowden Leak in 2013. This leak revealed sensitive information about the NSA tracking the movements of millions of people using cell phone metadata and the action of the NSA intercepting and storing data on billions of people all over the world. More recently, in 2015, key provisions of the Patriot Act, a law intended to help the United States government detect and prevent acts of terrorism or the sponsorship of terrorist organizations, were debated over whether or not they should be allowed to expire. Due to their mass cellphone data collection program, other programs involving the wiretapping of suspects, and more that were possible threats to the privacy of U.S. citizen s, there was substantial discourse about what to do with these key provisions. These key provisions, specifically, Section 215, were renewed until 2019, with the exception of the mass collection of phone data, which was revised with more restrictions because it was the most controversial. Somehow, Patty Jenkins and crew managed to not only make a great superheromovie with a female lead, but also a great war movie. A great World War 1 movie! The last time we had a WW1 movie that took this much care was War Horse, and that movie wasn t very good. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied throughout the play, such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the lower class, the reality vs. the predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila and Eric sympathized passionately with Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments. Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War 2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he denied that both would happen; I m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I say there isn t a chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. • 49. The Philosophy Of St. Thomas Aquinas St. Thomas Aquinas was an influential philosopher who strongly incorporated faith into his philosophy. In his Summa Theologiae, Aquinas uses his own arguments along with those of both Aristotle and Plato to strengthen his claims. First and foremost, Aquinas uses his own philosophy to back the Christian faith and the existence of God. However, Aquinas also extends his argument past the initial claim of God and Christianity, and it is here where he uses these other influential philosophers to help support his claims and arguments. Right away in Basic Works, Aquinas jumps straight to the biggest issue regarding religion does God exist? Immediately in his philosophical argumentation he focuses on his faith. Regarding this question, Aquinas first explains the notion God being self evident. Aquinas divides propositions into two categories being propositions that are self evident in themselves but which are not known to us because we do not know what the terms of the proposition really mean, and propositions which are self evident in themselves and known to us because we do. Aquinas goes on to explain that the proposition that God exists is self evident in itself because the predicate is identical with the subject and that since we don t know what God is, the proposition is not self evident to us but rather must be demonstrated to us though what is more evident to us (Question 2, Article 1). The pigments in a plant absorb light by way of photosynthesis and each pigment can absorb different colors but will reflect green light because it does not really absorb it. Therefore, plants always appear to have a green color. Plants have four pigments that were tested in this exercise called carotenoids such as carotenes/xanthophyll, also pigments chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b. Chlorophyll a absorbs blue/violet light, chlorophyll b absorbs red/blue light, and carotene absorbs blue green/violet colors. Oxygen is after product of photosynthesis along with glucose which is used later in cellular respiration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One table was used to describe how photosynthesis would occur with regular white light and one that was covered which measured the rate of cellular respiration. The other table describes the rate of photosynthesis and gross photosynthesis of green/white light. The table for green/white light was measured with accuracy with a volumeter tube. By analyzing the data, it can be confirmed that green light did not perform photosynthesis as fast as white light and white light performed photosynthesis creating oxygen more rapidly than the tube that had no light. Discussion: The second hypothesis on the rate of photosynthesis (green/white light) was correct because the data in the table above states that the rate of photosynthesis (which was measured in volumeters) was higher in the tube that was exposed to white light. The green light produced much slower rate results for photosynthesis because the color was not really absorbed very well. Plants use all colors of light to use photosynthesis except for green light. This means all wavelengths of light are used to make oxygen except for the green wavelength. One source of error in this experiment was the results for photosynthesis with light. The foil kept ... Expedition Behavior stems from the overall tone set forth by the leader, however trusting all participants to model the leader s standards is difficult. Both positive and negative expedition behavior may be present on trips. The members of the team must learn to effectively discuss concerns and celebrations as a group in order to inform the entire company of certain situations. Arguing or ignoring requests from the leader results in bad expedition behavior, whereas trusting or conferring anxieties appropriately with the leader usually develops into good expedition behavior. In the case of the climbers on Mount Everest, both examples were present in the varying climbers. Each member struggled with trials and tribulations and the end result paralleled the expedition behavior expressed throughout the tremendously burdensome and laborious journey. The first climber, Tim, displayed bad expedition behavior by arguing and ignoring Russell s commands. To begin with, Tim left from camp twenty minutes later than planned, therefore resulting in a delay of plans. Once Tim had started his trek up the mountain, he was trapped behind an injured climber from another party. On Epistemology and Skepticism Essay Epistemology is purposed with discovering and studying what knowledge is and how we can classify what we know, how we know it, and provide some type of framework for how we arrived at this conclusion. In the journey to identify what knowledge is the certainty principle was one of the first concepts that I learned that explained how we, as humans, consider ourselves to know something. The certainty concept suggests that knowledge requires evidence that is sufficient to rule out the possibility of error. This concept is exemplified in cases like The Gettier problem in the instance that we suppose (S) someone to know (P) a particular proposition. Skepticism in general says that we do not know many propositions about the external world that we naturally take ourselves to know. Descartes affirms skepticism by analyzing beliefs as knowledge. Meditations seeks to find a solution to the notion of if one doubts a belief, can it be considered knowledge? Descartes first submits that it is not necessary to show all beliefs are false to satisfy the knowledge condition. He adds that if in each belief there is doubt that we can conclude that all things that we believe can be considered false knowledge. He seeks to prove this by setting a precondition that we cannot critique all beliefs, just the ones that govern our life or that serve as a broad component of belief. Descartes then provides context to where beliefs come from and states that beliefs are created from senses or through senses. He then states that senses are false because they are deceptive and shouldn t be trusted which is the first cause of being able to doubt a belief. This idea in my opinion is the argument of Reality vs. Virtually, which is what we encounter through our experiences vs. what we dream about. The question posed is that we doubt our beliefs because we do not know if what we perceive from our senses is true. The pyramid is dependent on all of its members, but there is a definite sense of superiority, as the higher management levels shrink down in numbers, but tower over all else. This pyramid, upon producing positive results, is viewed by others as having produced them due to the excellence of the peak of the pyramid, with very little or no recognition at the bottom of said pyramid. The linked chain on the other hand, though still managed with upper and lower levels, reacts more as a team, giving those involved more recognition for their accomplishments. People who are recognized as such, and appreciated for their individual strengths, may be more likely to utilize these strengths and feel that they are a part of the company, rather than a pawn of the company. Now, even 50 years later, there is still conflict in the region, with the Chinese Army having to quell a riot just as recently as 2009. They are blind to the suffering of others due to their high status and privilege. The second realm is the realm of jealousy, in which beings are continuously aspiring to be superior and have no tolerance for underlings. The realm of hungry ghosts is associated with compulsion, obsession and addiction. They are constantly looking to fulfil the desire within with materialistic objects. Beings in the hell realm, have a hot temper that makes them angry at everything, and they push away those who express affection and kindness for them. The animal realm is recognised by its prejudgment, stupidity and self righteousness. Beings in this realm avoid uneasiness, the unaccustomed and live comfortable lives.
