Organization Overview and Mission
Tanglewood is a chain of general retail stores featuring items such as clothing, appliances, electronics,
and home decor. The company operates in the moderate price niche, targeting middle and upper
income customers. Tanglewood s strategic distinction is an outdoors theme, with a large camping and
outdoor living section in every store. The store also distinguishes itself by its simple, elegant, and
uncluttered design concepts for the store and their in house products. The company s mission
statement is:
|Tanglewood will be the best department store for customers seeking quality, durability, and value for
all aspects of their active|

and employees. We will accomplish|

Tanglewood was originally founded in 1975 by best friends Tanner Emerson and Thurston Wood. The
initial concept was a single store in Spokane Washington, named TannerWood, which sold a
combination of outdoor clothing and equipment that the pair had designed themselves. The employee

Football s Influence On American Culture
High School is closer to the core of the American experience than anything else I can think of. Kurt
Vonnegut
America, the quintessential melting pot, allows us to experience an extraordinary amount of variety in
people when it comes to ethnicity, culture, language, personality, work ethic, and background.
High School consists of all different experiences. Sports have a huge impact on culture in many
countries, but America has uniquely created and enjoyed its own. Obviously, sports such as football
have a tremendous affect on American culture. The Football Friday Night tradition starts in high
school and continues into adulthood with college ball on Saturdays and professional ball on Sundays.
High school reflects the adult experience.

Billie Holiday Essay example
To understand the controversy that Billie presented one must first go to the root or source of such
controversy and examine Billie s childhood. Billie was born Eleanora Harris to her father Clarence
Holiday and mother Sadie Fagan who were just fifteen and thirteen years old, respectively, at the time
(A 91). Born between 1912 and 1915 in Baltimore, the date unsure, Billie grew up without her father,
who moved away early on in her life.
Billie and her mother used to fight a lot, when her mother was around. Much of the time Billie was
left in the care of relatives or friends, many of whom were unloving (E). Billie s relationship with her
family was very weak, as Billie throughout her life and career never or rarely got family approval or ...

And on the numerous occasions when Billie s mother was out of town, she would be out having fun
without any worries.
Billie grew accustomed to using men to get money. Billie would pick up guys, pretending to be a
hooker, and then she and her friend would jump him and take his money (W 28). quot; She became a
fast woman. She wanted fast money, fast life quot; (W 26). Her life did become faster and faster as
Billie was brought further down into the truths of the world when Billie became a prostitute. quot;
[Billie] ran errands for a brothel in Philadelphia and in 1927 moved to New York, where for the next
three years she earned a living as a prostitute quot; (E). These aspects of Billie s life molded her
attitude towards life in the future, and her future decisions and goals. These influences became her
boundaries, her disposition, and in some cases, her limitations.
Educationally, Billie was deprived. Never getting beyond the fifth grade, Billie was the victim of the
educational restrictions that were imposed on many of those who dwelt in Black Ghettos (BB 67). As
Billie grew older her education became a limitation. quot; This woman s talent and her looks, and yet
in some ways she really had the mind of a 12 year old quot; (BB 67). This lack of education would
haunt Billie later in her career, a startling reminder of her childhood, and its definite shortcomings

Hope, By Joan Bauer
You know what I ve found out about disappointments? I think that if we face them down, they can
become our strengths. (Bauer 113) In the novel Hope Was Here written by Joan Bauer, the main
characters go through some difficult struggles. One of the main people, Braverman and Addie both
had to overcome disconsolate times. Braverman chooses family over education. Addie goes through
hard times when she losses her husband along with three unborn babies. This reminds me of the time
where my mother s friend, like Addie, lost a child, and had to overcome that. While people go through
difficult struggles everyday, they learn to learn and grow from them. Like William J. H. Boetcker said,

But instead of fulfilling his dreams in journalism, He was going to major in journalism. (Bauer 94) he

money he and his mother had been saving, it was just enough. (Bauer 177) Braverman had big
difficult challenges in his life, but with hardwork and determination, he overcame his struggle. Finally,
a personal struggle that happened in my life was what happened with my mother s friend, Lynzee.
Lynzee had six children, four girls and two boys. She really wanted to have another addition to her

her baby was born too early and was fighting for her survival. Her first name was Violet and her
middle name was Hope. Violet fought hard and long for her life, but her body was just too weak. She
ended up passing away two years after her birth. Lynzee and her family were devastated at the loss of
their family member. She overcame this difficult struggle by being with her family and looking on the

Single Parents And Socioeconomic Status
Background Information Children who are raised from birth in two parent families have better
cogitative and behavioral outcomes compared with children who have ever lived in single parent
families, more than 80% of which are headed by single mothers (Jaffe, Moffitt Taylor, 2003, pg. 109).
Children develop a different personality development when they grow up with no Father or with a
father. The percentage is higher than 50% of people who are single mothers and may be increasing.
The socioeconomic status plays an important role because single mothers have lower educational
attainment, less social support, and poorer psychological well being (Jaffe, Moffitt Capsi, 2003, pg.
109). On the other hand, two parent have a better socioeconomic status and their children have better
educational achievement and adjustment because the kids have the support of both of their parents and
the two parents are supporting each other to give the best for their kids (Jaffe, Moffitt, Taylor, 2003,
pg. 109).
One candidate psychological feature which might mediate a relationship between father absence and
early coitus is impulsivity. Impulsivity has been linked not only with aggressive behavior, but also
with willingness to engage in casual sex with multiple partners (Boothroyd Cross, 2017, pg. 2). The
Father absence may play different roles for each gender. When a child who is a boy grows up, they
could become aggressive or may think in a feminine way. According to Boothroyd and

Why Should Child Beauty Pageants Be Banned
Child beauty pageants create a boned with parent and child because they spend a lot of time together,
communication, and having something in common. For example, the child and parent will have to
spend a lot of time together. They will have to do hair and makeup which will last anywhere to two
hours to almost three. All the categories that the child joins will take time to practice which most
children send about seven hours a week on it, and with their parent being their coach that means they
will be doing all those things together ( Children and Beauty Pageants ). Another example,
communication is a big one. It is hard to get a teenage daughter to talk to the parent, but having
communication will help the relationship. The communication will be hard, but having something in
common will help. Which leads to the last example, having something in common can be hard if the
kid plays tennis or another sport because they will have a coach to help them unless the parent is the
coach. In most cases for pageants the parent is the coach so will always have something to talk about (
Children and Beauty Pageants ). As a result the parent and child boned will be stronger than it would
be with another sport. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the judges are worrying about how the kid looks on stage so the kids will have to worry
about it also. Another example, the mothers are making their kids do beauty pageants to make up for
what they have lost. The mothers lost their glory days as they grew up so they are forcing the kids to
do these things ( Should childhood beauty pageants be banned ). However, this is not true for every
family. Not all moms force their kids to do that. As a result, the kids are learning skills that will be
needed and are doing pageants by their

The Two Act Comic Opera Barbier Von Bagdad

Professor Rena C. Mueller
History of European Opera
Tuesday, December 9, 14
Barbier Von Bagdad The two act comic opera Barbier Von Bagdad is a two act opera composed by
Peter Cornelius to a German Libretto by the composer in 1858. The libretto is based on two stories,
The Tale of the Tailor and The Barber s Stories of his Six Brothers from The Arabian Nights, as
commonly known as One Thousand and One Nights. This collection of Middle Eastern, Indian, and
North and Western African stories of unknown date and authorship was written in 9th century, when
the Arabs were rapidly expanding their territories and the influence of Islam. The stories in the
collection praised the virtues from the Arabians standard and spread their value around the world. As
one of the most well known Middle Eastern literature, One Thousand and One Nights has not only set
the story of Barbier Von Bagdad in an exoticized world, but also fit into the German people s typical
view of Arab, ensuring that the audience could easily accept the characters. The composer Peter
Cornelius was born in mainz into a family with theatrical background. His career started off as an
actor, but later Cornelius studied violin and learnt composition with Heinrich Esser in Berlin. In
Cornelius early life, he was initially interested in literature, instead of music. This explained why he
later became a prolific critic. In 1849, Cornelius accomplished his first libretto for a one act short
comic opera. Even though

Li Bo Tang
The knowledge and experience I had concerning poetry never revealed to me the difficulties poets had
to face in the past. I had no idea that poets struggled a lot for recognition which they mostly failed to
achieve in their lifetime. The background information and activities of poets Li Bo and Du Fu of Tang
dynasty exposed crucial facts to me. Li Bo and Du Fu of Tang dynasty are the most popular poets who
followed different paths to get emperor s attention. In one way or another, each of them had a way of
getting to the emperor directly, but they choose to find their paths. Li Bo who shared kinship relations
with the imperial family got to the court bureau through friendship that he shared with Daoist adept.
Du Fu, on the other hand, was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poems by Du Fu were more recognized than those of Li Bo because he wrote much detail about
himself and his family giving his readers the joy of gaining ideas from their own. His poems like Poet
Sage and Poet Historian contained much information about the ideals of Confucian especially the
inability of the government to stabilize again after the rebellion of general An Lushan in 755. Li Bo
must have avoided direct and critical writing on the political and social situation in China because he
shared a kinship with the imperial family. He hence preferred to appear as a stranger and focused on
playful fantasy as portrayed in his poem Drinking Alone with the Moon. He also imitated folk songs
and ordinary conversations as portrayed in The Road to Shu is Hard. This did not mean that he had no
problems with the government. His dissatisfaction was revealed when he joined a minor revolt that
made the emperor mistrust him. I realized that the difference is a level of recognition of works by
these poets depended on the style of writing. The majority of Li Bo s poems followed the older trend
where poets had freedom of expression. Du Fu s works, on the contrary, were based on the newer style
which had restrictions. Du Fu s works were, therefore, more preferred by the later generations
especially those he wrote in the last decades which further included arguably and indirect

Robert Frost Reconsidering Perspectives
Discoveries often require individuals to reconsider their perspective and develop a new understanding
of the world around them. Examine this statement in relation to your prescribed text and ONE related
text. Often, discoveries can demand a re evaluation of one s outlook on life. Arguably, the process of
reconsidering perspectives is a way of making sense of the world and coming to terms with
confronting realities. This is examined throughout Robert Frost s poetic texts Stopping by woods on a
snowy evening (SBW) and the Tuft of Flowers (TTOF) and Sean Penn s film, Into the Wild (ITW).
Here the composers criticise the varied ramifications of emotional and intellectual discoveries on

The Influence Of Dragons On East Asian Culture
Dragons are prevalent in myths all across the world. Eastern countries in particular hold dragons in the
highest regard in their cultures. The dragons of East Asian legend have sweeping powers. They
breathe clouds, move the seasons, and control the waters of rivers, lakes, and seas. They are linked
with yang, the masculine principle of heat, light, and action, and opposed to yin, the feminine
principle of coolness, darkness, and repose. Dragons have been part of East Asian culture for more
than 4,000 years. In the religious traditions of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism, they have been
honored as sources of power and bringers of rain. (amnh.org)
Dragons hold more significance in China than nearly anywhere else in the world. They are usually
depicted as brightly colored snakes with legs that, in legend, can be as small as a garden snake or large
enough to connect heaven and earth. These dragons are connected to divine and auspicious powers
that typically control disasters related to water, such as floods or hurricanes. These powers make
dragons a symbol of strength and power among the Chinese people, enough so that ... Show more

Conflict Resolution Styles
Abstract We deal with conflict on a daily basis, whether it is in our personal lives or professionally.
Learning how we, as individuals, best approach conflict resolution will allow us to become better
mediators in managerial positions. Also, taking into consideration the different types of conflict
resolution styles will help us learn what those individual needs are and gain a better understanding of
where the perspective their concerns come from. Managing conflict styles, understanding why conflict
occurred, how to move forward, how conflict is perceived, coping with conflict and communication
are extremely important in understanding the journey to a positive outcome where conflict is
concerned. Introduction There are five different responsive approaches to conflict management styles

On the other side, PDA has already become natural and merely accepted for most of the young adults
according to Cheryl Wittier s article posted last April 2011.
Showing affection in public can be determined by different acts of intimacy. It can be anywhere from
a whisper to a shout. It can also range anywhere from a touch of hands to a touch of somewhere else
(Wu, 2001).
PDA is very common, but still an unaccepted act. According to www.eromance.com, there are
different degrees of showing affection which are commonly observed in public. There are acts that
have been observed by the society without being neither offended nor disgusted. On the other hand,
there are also types of PDA which easily annoy people.
Soenarie and Fehr Snyder (2008) listed the accepted acts of PDA in the society. Talking in the
hallways is accepted as long no one is disturbed. It is okay to shakehands, give a man hug by patting
someone on the back and place an arm around one s shoulder or hook hug . They can also hold hands
and link arms in public. Giving hugs no longer than two seconds is acceptable as respecting one s
point of view.
Affection is not for public exhibition. Charlene Wu, on the other hand, listed some of the unaccepted
acts of PDA in the chapter 5 of her article in public display of affection. Kissing is fine as long as it is
not more than a peck on the lip. Passionate kissing and beyond in public is not acceptable. Sitting on

high level compared with media coverage. (Clark, 2016) Because of this lack of coverage, many

Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation
Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Forest Degradation
(REDD) Program Equity and Effectiveness
Introduction
Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) is a program that, like its name
suggests, has the main objective of reducing the emission levels of green house gases from land uses,
through incentives in developing countries. The program includes measures related to conservation,
sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forests carbon stocks (United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change 2008).
It is well known that climate change is one of the most controversial environmental issues that has
been discussed, and in the climate change picture REDD is a topic which contains diverse points and
dimensions that request attention. The REDD program includes goals that are seen by many people
how extremely important and essential ones to address the climate problem, whereas other
environmentalists may put in doubt its efficiency and feasibility. Given its potential importance to the
global climate and its complexity, it is necessary consider biophysical, social and economic
magnitudes of REDD.
REDD is an initiative with a variety of features. It does not involve only local management and
impacts, but rather does include a global effort and integration of public and private sectors. It is
important to think about all the management levels, all impacts and consequences of the program,
risks, applicability, benefit and cost and so

One hypothesis is that since it is so easy to transmit to animals this may be why so many people have
gotten BU.
Even though BU has been reported in 33 countries there are only 15 that have been documented as
having a significant amount of cases. In those 15 countries there have been between 5,000 6,000
reported/documented cases of BU (Mycobacterium, www.who.int). Most patients, with this disease,
are younger than 15 years old (Buruli Ulcer, Nigeria). In Benin over half of the BU patients are
children.
There are so many poor families in Benin, and that makes it hard for them to take their children to
hospitals, which is why a lot of the patients that go to the hospitals have already had the disease for 2
4 months (Small). If the patient was caught in the early stages of the disease then about 80% of those
patients could be cured by a combination of antibiotics (Mycobacterium, www.who.int). For poor

Ship Of Fools Case Study
Founded in 1880, the site of Kyle, Texas, was selected based on the location of the nearby
International Great Northern Railroad route. By 1890, the population had grown to almost 800, and in
2010, there were more than 28,000 people residing in Kyle. Despite its explosive growth, most of the
property owners in Kyle remain committed to maintaining their properties to ensure that the city
retains its quaint charm. This includes maintaining the asphalt pavement found on many city streets,
parking lots and residential driveways and for more than three decades, Alpha Paving has been
helping them with their asphalt installation, repair and maintenance needs. Whether they need new

New asphalt pavement should have sealant applied within the first year following installation.
Depending on traffic volume and vehicle weights, sealant will need to be applied every two or three
years to ensure maximum protection. Sealcoating guards against sun damage as well as damage
caused by petroleum based automotive fluids. It also revitalizes the color of asphalt that has faded.
Have any breaks in the pavement repaired quickly. Cracks, deep cuts and potholes can let water drain
beneath the pavement and erode the foundation. Once the foundation has become eroded and unstable,
the pavement loses its ability to flex under load and extensive cracking can occur.
Make parking lots safer and more attractive by having fresh paint applied to mark parking spaces,
crosswalks, loading zones, travel directions, exits, handicapped parking spaces and fire lanes.
If an aging pavement has become unsightly, check to see if it can be salvaged with an overlay before
committing to a total replacement. If the foundation is stable, it might be cost effective to choose an
overlay, which is a course of asphalt applied to existing pavement.

The Success Of The City Of Detroit
The city of Detroit was the city of opportunity, wealth and place where anyone could pursue their
American dream. In early 1910 s innovative inventor, Henry Ford brought automobile industry into
american soil. First and biggest factories of automobile manufacturing was opened in several places in
Detroit. Detroit became third biggest city in the United States with largest population during 1950s.
Automobile manufacturing was the base of Detroit s economy for decades. However, today its not like
it was before. During 20th to 21st century auto industry had many highs and lows but overall had
collapsed completely. While Detroit s officials though that they settled the economy for a long run, the
unexpected change in the city s profit destroyed the economic system. Detroit which once was mecca
for middle class workers, who were pursuing their American Dream had major economical collapse
due to miscalculation of revenue, which also led to failure of education system and decline in
diversity. Detroit s economy was build on manufacturing in automobile industry which made Detroit

My Experience In Music
I wanted to tell you about my experience in the world of music and how it helped me express myself
and I started to find my talents as well as learn who I was and to not let bullying stop me from doing
what I loved to do. I used to think that I did not have great skills in the music field. Even though
everyone in my family is a music person I did not learn or get the skills like they did. But I did not
want to take gym because I got teased a lot for it. I was bullied a lot in school so wanted to try
something new in middle school and my only other option was band and even though I was teased for
being in band and being called a band geek it s a step that started to change my experience in life and
how I interacted with others and my confidence to try new things and have confidence in myself and
to trust myself. I was in the 6th grade and I was just trying to figure out who I was. I started out
looking at all the instruments they had. Then the band director had us try several of the instruments.
Well let s just say I did not like the trumpet, flute my hands could not fit well on that and most girls
played that as well so I wanted something different. I was then asked to try the tuba which is was not
happy about but I did but my teacher then showed me the bass clarinet it was different but smaller
than the tuba and bigger then the flute or trumpet. I knew i did not want to do a brass instrument I told

Essay on Main Disagreements Over the Constitution
The three consequences of the constitution are: the right of individuals enjoy such strong legal
protections that at times they frustrate the will of the majority, the obstacles placed in the way of
passing legislation create a strong bias toward the status quo, and even though the constitution makes
it difficult to pass legislation, it has created a system that is sufficiently flexible to meet the country s
changing needs. The compromises necessary for the Constitution to be formed, because it is the only
thing that could save the Convention from failure is by compromising. Additionally, The main aim of
the Constitution was to create a solid elected government, directly receptive of people s well. The

Every two years only one third of the Senate is elected. The Senate is the more powerful house than
the House of Representatives. To become a senate required higher qualifications and more strict than

the members of the House of Representatives. In the senate, people have no intervention on the

Critical Instructional Components For Helping Students Learn
Introduction One of the identified critical instructional components for helping students learn to read
is vocabulary. Since the National Reading Panel (2000) and the National Early Literacy Panel (2009)
reported that strong early oral vocabulary knowledge is a predictor for later successful reading
outcomes, an increased research and teaching focus in this area has arisen.
The achievement gap that is a central concern in education and society today is associated to a word
gap that begins early in life. Hart and Risley (1995) identified in their seminal study that by the age of
four, children from low income families hear 30 million less words than their peers from professional
families. Although there are some researchers that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

At Risk Children
In their review of research, Snell et al. (2015) identify students at risk as ones who are more likely to
enter school behind in their language development. The intervention and control groups from the
Roskos Burstein (2011) 12 week mixed methods study compared word learning of two groups of 36
(n=72) preschoolers who showed vocabulary vulnerabilities, which meant that the children were
chosen due to low standardized vocabulary scores, low income, and/or special needs. At risk
participants (n=25) from the Loftus Rattan, Mitchell, and Coyne (2016) one week within subjects
design study were chosen specifically because of their attendance at an urban preschool in the
northeast that had a large population of dual language learners (DLL; 88%), non white (85%), and free
or reduced priced lunch (83%). Finally, Silverman, Crandell, and Carlis (2013) conducted their 12
weeks of research in 26 Head Start classrooms with a sample of 264 children (90% low
socioeconomic status, 79% DLL, 80% nonwhite) in order to compare the effects of vocabulary

Evaluation Of Routine Immunization Performance Essay
REVIEW OF Routine Immunization Performance In Pakistan
May 11th 24th, 2015
Hashim Elzein Elmousaad
1. Introduction and Background
Socio demography:
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has 4 provinces, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and
Baluchistan besides the federally administered territories and the capital Islamabad. The population of
Pakistan is estimated at 182 million in 2013 with an annual population growth rate of 2%. Pakistan is
having a birth cohort of 6.2 million infants, with 5.82 million surviving infants [1].
Routine Immunization and Polio Eradication:
In 2013 the UN Inter agency Group for child mortality estimation, showed that about 50% of under
five deaths occur in only five countries: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo
and China [2]. It estimated that Pakistan has a child mortality of 86 per 1000 live birth. About 25% of
these deaths are attributed to vaccine preventable diseases. In recent years the Pakistani routine
immunization program faced many bottlenecks, which resulted in declining and stagnant coverage
rates of all antigens leading to increasing vulnerability of children to vaccine preventable diseases.
Last large measles outbreak was reported to kill more than 306 children [3]. Administrative coverage
data shows relatively high immunization coverage (DPT3 85%) across the last few years. However,
EPI management and partners doubt the data quality and reliability. Strengthening

Animal Experiments For Cosmetics And Household Products
Almost every type of human or animal cell can be grown in the laboratory. Animal experiments for
cosmetics and household products continue even though non animal tests are widely available. Instead
of measuring how long it takes a chemical to burn the cornea of a rabbit s eye, manufacturers can now
drop that chemical onto cornea like 3D tissue structures produced from human cells. Likewise, human
skin cultures can be grown and purchased for skin irritation testing. Scientists have managed to coax
the cells to grow into 3D structures, such as miniature human organs, which can provide a more
realistic way to test new therapies.
Testing cosmetic products on animals is not effective and is dangerous to the animals. There are more
effective alternatives to the tests that are performed on animals. In Vitro International s Corrositex
(synthetic skin) can provide a chemical corrosivity determination in as little as three minutes to four
hours, unlike the experiments on animals which often takes two to four weeks.
Crude skin allergy tests in guinea pigs only predict human reactions 72% of the time. But a
combination of chemistry and cell based alternative methods has been shown to accurately predict
human reactions 90% of the time. The standard test on pregnant rats to find out if chemical or drugs
may harm the developing baby can only detect 60% of dangerous substances. But a cell based
alternative (EST) has 100% accuracy at detecting toxic chemicals.

The Is A Vessel For The Soul Essay
Ancient religions tend to believe that the body is merely a vessel for the soul. Some, in their quest to
achieve a more significant spiritual attachment with God, have lambasted their bodies as symbols of
weakness and seek to rectify it through self mutilation or starvation. In Judaism, for example, the Old
Testament commands that the body be kept sacred. This restricts self mutilation and even tattoos.
However, fasting is still permitted and even encouraged. Aside from the commanded Old Testament
fast days such as Yom Kippur, there are other Rabbinic fast days throughout the year, and stories
abound of Rabbi s fasting routinely as a means of drawing themselves closer to their soul and to God.
Tradition even claims that Moses fasted for forty days upon the mountain before receiving the Old
Testament from God. Within Christianity, however, many went even further. Instead of just fasting,
many actively starved themselves and inflicted bodily harm upon them. Fasting does remain a
significant part, though, as proven by Jesus fasting for forty days and other Saints following his
example. This was a trait of Saints, who insisted on going through severe trials and tribulations in
order to conquer their own bodies. Some Saints would even make the ultimate sacrifice of Martyrdom.
Often, this was more pronounced among women who had the additional impurities that were not as
pronounced in men.
Rev Michael Geisler of St. Louis speculates that the purpose of the self mutilation was

Incident response occurs during the incident, however, disaster recover occurs after the incident has
taken place (Whitman Mattord, 2012). Adequately preparing for disasters would help in fast recovery.
For example, fire is a catastrophic disaster, so backups should be at off site location to minimize the
damage caused to clients, employees, stakeholders and investors. Disaster recovery plan must be
developed and implemented with top down support across all departments in an organization. Every
department in an organization must contribute to the disaster plan. IT team should write the disaster
plan because they have a deep insight into the company wide business process. IT department is in the
unique position of understanding of the daily operations of each department, as well as constant
communication with leads within those each department. Without a cross departmental participation it
is impossible to put out a proper plan. The disaster plan should include more possible scenarios
because the cause of disaster is more. The following are considered as disasters in the typical
organization: 1) Employee fraud 2) Stolen laptop 3) Fire 4) Terrorist attacks To effectively face the
disaster the disaster plan should be distributed across an organization because everyone knows their
role within the plan. Roles must be revised and Plans should be rehearsed periodically. Network

wife forced him to sell her to a druid. During this period of time, lots of people were suffering from
violence and poverty. From a young age, it was clear to see that St Brigid was holy. As St Brigid grew
older she performed many miracles such as, feeding and healing the poor. When St Brigid was around

St Brigid was very important to a lot of people at the time as she helped create religious life for people
in Ireland that needed it, she influenced a lot of people and taught them her ways. Teaching them
about being generous, non materialistic, compassionate and forgiving (Online, n.d.). Her faith found
expression in feast of charity as she generously gave food to the poor. The feast of St Brigid is
celebrated on the 1st of February, the feast is in honor of another person who played an important role
in the evolution of Christianity in Ireland. This person is known as Mary of the Gaels, Bride, or Brigit;
she contributes as one of the three most important patron saints of Ireland, the other two patron saints
are St Patrick and St Columba (or Columcille) (The Ultimate History Project, 2017). There has been
lots of debate about whether St Brigid was a real person, as she has the same name as Celtic goddess
Brigid who is also associated with feast day. There are many legends, folk tales and supernatural
events linked with her. Some scholars suggest that St Brigid is simply a Christianization of the
goddess, and others suggest that St Brigid was real and someone who took on the goddess s
characteristics (En.wikipedia.org, n.d.). Although dying in 525 AD St Brigid is still talked about today

Who Is The Protagonist In The Jumping Frog
In the celebrated jumping frog of calaveras county, Mark Twain creates a satirical and realist story.
Using the characters of Leonidas W Smiley, the bull pup Andrew Jackson, and the frog Daniel
Webster, Twain connects his story to real life events and people. In this short story twain points out the
flaws of humanity and how we are slaves to our money. The characters in the jumping frog portray
realism by representing real life counter parts. The bull pup named Andrew Jackson is in fact very like
the real life Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson grew up in a very poor family and rose to wealth when
he became a young Tennessee lawyer. Jackson became a rising star in the political world and was

High School consists of all different experiences. Sports have a huge impact on culture in many countries, but America has uniquely created and enjoyed its own. Billie was born Eleanora Harris to her father Clarence Holiday and mother Sadie Fagan who were just fifteen and thirteen years old, respectively, at the time (A 91). Born between 1912 and 1915 in Baltimore, the date unsure, Billie grew up without her father, who moved away early on in her life. Billie and her mother used to fight a lot, when her mother was around. Much of the time Billie was left in the care of relatives or friends, many of whom were unloving (E). Billie would pick up guys, pretending to be a hooker, and then she and her friend would jump him and take his money (W 28). quot; She became a fast woman. She wanted fast money, fast life quot; (W 26). Her life did become faster and faster as Billie was brought further down into the truths of the world when Billie became a prostitute. quot; [Billie] ran errands for a brothel in Philadelphia and in 1927 moved to New York, where for the next three years she earned a living as a prostitute quot; (E). These aspects of Billie s life molded her attitude towards life in the future, and her future decisions and goals. These influences became her boundaries, her disposition, and in some cases, her limitations. Educationally, Billie was deprived. Never getting beyond the fifth grade, Billie was the victim of the educational restrictions that were imposed on many of those who dwelt in Black Ghettos (BB 67). As Billie grew older her education became a limitation. quot; This woman s talent and her looks, and yet in some ways she really had the mind of a 12 year old quot; (BB 67). • 6. Hope, By Joan Bauer You know what I ve found out about disappointments? I think that if we face them down, they can become our strengths. (Bauer 113) In the novel Hope Was Here written by Joan Bauer, the main characters go through some difficult struggles. One of the main people, Braverman and Addie both had to overcome disconsolate times. Braverman chooses family over education. Addie goes through hard times when she losses her husband along with three unborn babies. This reminds me of the time where my mother s friend, like Addie, lost a child, and had to overcome that. • 7. Single Parents And Socioeconomic Status Background Information Children who are raised from birth in two parent families have better cogitative and behavioral outcomes compared with children who have ever lived in single parent families, more than 80% of which are headed by single mothers (Jaffe, Moffitt Taylor, 2003, pg. 109). Children develop a different personality development when they grow up with no Father or with a father. The percentage is higher than 50% of people who are single mothers and may be increasing. The socioeconomic status plays an important role because single mothers have lower educational attainment, less social support, and poorer psychological well being (Jaffe, Moffitt Capsi, 2003, pg. 109). On the other hand, two parent have a better socioeconomic status and their children have better educational achievement and adjustment because the kids have the support of both of their parents and the two parents are supporting each other to give the best for their kids (Jaffe, Moffitt, Taylor, 2003, pg. 109). One candidate psychological feature which might mediate a relationship between father absence and early coitus is impulsivity. Impulsivity has been linked not only with aggressive behavior, but also with willingness to engage in casual sex with multiple partners (Boothroyd Cross, 2017, pg. 2). The Father absence may play different roles for each gender. When a child who is a boy grows up, they could become aggressive or may think in a feminine way. According to Boothroyd and ... • 8. Why Should Child Beauty Pageants Be Banned Child beauty pageants create a boned with parent and child because they spend a lot of time together, communication, and having something in common. For example, the child and parent will have to spend a lot of time together. They will have to do hair and makeup which will last anywhere to two hours to almost three. All the categories that the child joins will take time to practice which most children send about seven hours a week on it, and with their parent being their coach that means they will be doing all those things together ( Children and Beauty Pageants ). Another example, communication is a big one. It is hard to get a teenage daughter to talk to the parent, but having communication will help the relationship. The communication will be hard, but having something in common will help. Which leads to the last example, having something in common can be hard if the kid plays tennis or another sport because they will have a coach to help them unless the parent is the coach. In most cases for pageants the parent is the coach so will always have something to talk about ( Children and Beauty Pageants ). As a result the parent and child boned will be stronger than it would be with another sport. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. The Two Act Comic Opera Barbier Von Bagdad Haixu Liu Professor Rena C. Mueller History of European Opera Tuesday, December 9, 14 Barbier Von Bagdad The two act comic opera Barbier Von Bagdad is a two act opera composed by Peter Cornelius to a German Libretto by the composer in 1858. The libretto is based on two stories, The Tale of the Tailor and The Barber s Stories of his Six Brothers from The Arabian Nights, as commonly known as One Thousand and One Nights. This collection of Middle Eastern, Indian, and North and Western African stories of unknown date and authorship was written in 9th century, when the Arabs were rapidly expanding their territories and the influence of Islam. The stories in the collection praised the virtues from the Arabians standard and spread their value around the world. As one of the most well known Middle Eastern literature, One Thousand and One Nights has not only set the story of Barbier Von Bagdad in an exoticized world, but also fit into the German people s typical view of Arab, ensuring that the audience could easily accept the characters. The composer Peter Cornelius was born in mainz into a family with theatrical background. His career started off as an actor, but later Cornelius studied violin and learnt composition with Heinrich Esser in Berlin. In Cornelius early life, he was initially interested in literature, instead of music. This explained why he later became a prolific critic. In 1849, Cornelius accomplished his first libretto for a one act short comic opera. Even though ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Li Bo Tang The knowledge and experience I had concerning poetry never revealed to me the difficulties poets had to face in the past. I had no idea that poets struggled a lot for recognition which they mostly failed to achieve in their lifetime. The background information and activities of poets Li Bo and Du Fu of Tang dynasty exposed crucial facts to me. Li Bo and Du Fu of Tang dynasty are the most popular poets who followed different paths to get emperor s attention. In one way or another, each of them had a way of getting to the emperor directly, but they choose to find their paths. Li Bo who shared kinship relations with the imperial family got to the court bureau through friendship that he shared with Daoist adept. Du Fu, on the other hand, was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Poems by Du Fu were more recognized than those of Li Bo because he wrote much detail about himself and his family giving his readers the joy of gaining ideas from their own. His poems like Poet Sage and Poet Historian contained much information about the ideals of Confucian especially the inability of the government to stabilize again after the rebellion of general An Lushan in 755. Li Bo must have avoided direct and critical writing on the political and social situation in China because he shared a kinship with the imperial family. He hence preferred to appear as a stranger and focused on playful fantasy as portrayed in his poem Drinking Alone with the Moon. He also imitated folk songs and ordinary conversations as portrayed in The Road to Shu is Hard. This did not mean that he had no problems with the government. His dissatisfaction was revealed when he joined a minor revolt that made the emperor mistrust him. I realized that the difference is a level of recognition of works by these poets depended on the style of writing. The majority of Li Bo s poems followed the older trend where poets had freedom of expression. Du Fu s works, on the contrary, were based on the newer style which had restrictions. Du Fu s works were, therefore, more preferred by the later generations especially those he wrote in the last decades which further included arguably and indirect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examine this statement in relation to your prescribed text and ONE related text. Often, discoveries can demand a re evaluation of one s outlook on life. Arguably, the process of reconsidering perspectives is a way of making sense of the world and coming to terms with confronting realities. This is examined throughout Robert Frost s poetic texts Stopping by woods on a snowy evening (SBW) and the Tuft of Flowers (TTOF) and Sean Penn s film, Into the Wild (ITW). The dragons of East Asian legend have sweeping powers. They breathe clouds, move the seasons, and control the waters of rivers, lakes, and seas. They are linked with yang, the masculine principle of heat, light, and action, and opposed to yin, the feminine principle of coolness, darkness, and repose. Dragons have been part of East Asian culture for more than 4,000 years. In the religious traditions of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism, they have been honored as sources of power and bringers of rain. They are usually depicted as brightly colored snakes with legs that, in legend, can be as small as a garden snake or large enough to connect heaven and earth. Some, in their quest to achieve a more significant spiritual attachment with God, have lambasted their bodies as symbols of weakness and seek to rectify it through self mutilation or starvation. In Judaism, for example, the Old Testament commands that the body be kept sacred. This restricts self mutilation and even tattoos. However, fasting is still permitted and even encouraged. Aside from the commanded Old Testament fast days such as Yom Kippur, there are other Rabbinic fast days throughout the year, and stories abound of Rabbi s fasting routinely as a means of drawing themselves closer to their soul and to God. Tradition even claims that Moses fasted for forty days upon the mountain before receiving the Old Testament from God. Within Christianity, however, many went even further. Instead of just fasting, many actively starved themselves and inflicted bodily harm upon them. Fasting does remain a significant part, though, as proven by Jesus fasting for forty days and other Saints following his example. This was a trait of Saints, who insisted on going through severe trials and tribulations in order to conquer their own bodies. Some Saints would even make the ultimate sacrifice of Martyrdom.
