Newspaper Comparison
Newspaper Comparison
Today s society is in many respects dominated by the media. Newspapers, books, television, radio and
the Internet not only play significant role in an average person s life but are also multi billion pound
industries that, through the public exposure they are subject to, carry great influence. One of the oldest
media formats still in use is the newspaper. This old printed format carries great political power and
boasts huge readerships, partly due to its cheap price, never exceeding a few pounds an issue, and its
portability.
Throughout the decades during which Newspapers have developed, two main styles of writing and
presentation in newspapers have emerged: Tabloid and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, tabloids are generally considered to be the more sensationalist, emotionally concerned and
subjective newspapers containing more pictures and easy to read text (such as the Sun and the Mirror).
Typically, Many Tabloid only require a reading age of 9, thus allowing them to be readily understood
by the less well educated and intellectual members of the public. Clearly, the properties of these
formats can be seen as direct opposites. However they do share some similarities. An obvious
common property of all newspapers is that they are commercial, that is, that they will try to appeal to a
large a readership as possible, within their market niche readership and this is reflected in their range
of content and style. Some newspapers try to appeal to more people by mixing elements of tabloids
and broadsheets (such as the Daily Mail and the Daily Express), although the large tabloid and
broadsheet newspapers tend to follow the traditional stereotypical styles for their type. The other key
similarity between each type of newspaper is that they all exist to report the news and current affairs,
differing only in the way in which they present and portray news stories which is also dependent on
the preference of their readership. However, their priorities regarding what stories are newsworthy
differ

disappointing for some people who don t like digital products to find that purchasing a hard copy

Slave Living Conditions
Living Conditions of Slaves The living conditions for slaves in the United States depended on the
slave, the owner, and where they were located. Most of the time is just depended on the owner and
how he treated his slaves, how hard he made them work and how he felt about them.
Slaves were not unwilling to work for their owners, but in return they wanted the owner to take care
them for working for the owner. For slaves a nice warm meal and a full belly was the most important
thing. If they had a decent meal breakfast lunch or dinner then they did not mind doing hard work for
the owner. During the 18th century, the plantain became a very important food in the lowlands. This
was due to large coffee plantations which grew a plant called the coffee mama to provide shade for
small coffee plants. These coffee mama plants often produced a lot of plantains and so slaves sold
them to neighbors to get a little extra money for their needs. The planters came to prefer this food
because it required little work and had a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
most of them did not have any furniture at all. The fireplace was in the middle of the cabin and there
was no chimney, so you would have to have the door open in order for the smoke to clear out. They
lay around the fire on two or three boards, lifted above the ground. Plaited mats served as mattresses.
They used a block of wood for a pillow. Some slaves used a hammock instead, but only a few would
have been able to afford such a luxury, because these had to be bought from Indians and cost about 25
guilders a fortune for the average slave. Most bondsmen also owned a couple of iron and earthenware
pots, calabashes and a chest to store their Sunday finery in. Some fortunate plantation slaves lived in
comfortable cabins depending on how much money they make and what their owner will give them or
let them build. some slaves could enjoy a proper bed, curtains, tables, chairs and even

Marco Polo s Views On Christianity And Other Religion
Marco Polo, who was possibly the most famous European to visit China while under Mongol rule, left
Venice in 1271 and did not return until 1295. Khubilai Khan was a grandson of Chinggis Khan and
eventually became the fifth Great Khan of the Mongol Empire. This analysis will discuss what Marco
Polo experienced while visiting China concerning Khubailai s views on Christianity and other
religions. Like all Mongols, Khubilai traveled depending on the season. In this primary source
document, he was traveling back to Khanbalik to celebrate Easter with the Christians during the
months of February and March knowing it was the most significant feast of all. However, he did so
with the other religions in the Mongol empire, such as the Muslims, Jews,

Authority In The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Should one question Authority? This is a question that has been asked by people for ages. But what
should be asked is if there is ever a time not to question authority. It is extremely important to
challenge the ideas of people in positions of power and authority. One can look back thousands of
years and see an abundance of examples over the Millennia, where practices at the time were proven
to be incorrect. The world wouldn t be the way it is today if people didn t question authority. In
ancient Egypt, the authority on medicine said that the brain was only used to produce mucus, during
the medieval period, the catholic church said that the sun circled the Earth, and sixty years ago society
said that black people had to sit in the back of buses.
For hundreds of years, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

this point in the book that Huck begins to question if society, the authority in this classic, is correct in
their morals and ideas. He continues to adventure with Jim, and sees everyone stealing and lying to

the wrongs in society, Huck finally realizes that society, the authority in this book is wrong and leaves

Camille A Brown Essay
Camille A. Brown is famously known as a dancer, a choreographer, a dance educator, and a director.
She founded Camille A. Brown Dancers in 2006, and she also choreographed so many pieces for
many remarkable companies and Broadway shows. Moreover, she gives lectures to audience at many
universities, such as such as Long Island University, Barnard College and ACDFA (University of
Akron), because she believes through education, the next contributor to the dance field may appear
among those audiences. From 2006 to 2017, she had won 24 awards, such as four Princess Grace
Award, Doris Duke Performing Artist Award, and a Bessie Award. All those facts have shown that she
is not only an outstanding artist in the dance field in recent years, but she also uses her works to show

she was not express herself in her performance. She also tried to evocative the side that a woman

same person with various faces. Most of her face was covered by a hat. I think she may believe that
without facial expression and eye contact interference, the information conveyed through the body
movements is the purest and the most powerful. Significantly, the voices of Betty Carter and Ella

like a mechanical stiffness, but the overall situation is like fluid flowing, making people feel vitality
and energy. I think maybe she sets the bar too high for other

Persuasive Essay On Juveniles
Elizabeth Alexander had nearly fallen asleep one ___ night in 2016 when she was jostled awake by a
firecracker of a noise. She noticed an unusually bright orange light, which she at first thought it was a
street light beaming through a starless Selma sky. She soon realized it was instead her car, engulfed in
radiant flames. One of the only items she owned was being taken from her, and she could do nothing
about it. She sat in awe and disbelief, a moment of euphoria that would set her life on an unexpected
journey. Until that point, Alexander had lived her life as a rebel, a badge she wore proudly after years
of internal turmoil. She spent time in foster care as a child, since her diabetic mother was in and out of
the hospital and could not always care for her three children. While there, Alexander was sexually
abused by older girls in the system. In school, she was bullied. All of these environmental elements
led to creating Alexander s tough girl persona as a child. I was a fighter. I would fight you, it didn t
matter who you were, because I got picked on so much that it became my defense, Alexander said.
Alexander, now 24, has been arrested once for every year of her life. The majority of the arrests
occurred when she was a juvenile, and most were for disorderly conduct. A locked up life is not a
hopeful one. But for the first time, as Alexander watched her livelihood disappear into the midnight
air, she saw opportunity in disparity. She no longer had a car in which she

Example Of Observational Learning
The topic that I chose for this week is observational learning. Observational learning is learning by
others and imitating their behavior (Griggs, 2009, p. xx). Observational learning can help us when we
want to learn how to play sports, drive a car, or even learn to write letters. There are numerous things
we can acquire through observational learning. Many of us watched our mother and grandmother
bake, or even just cook when we were younger. We picked up many of the things that they did, this is
another example of observational learning.
We also learn attitudes and behaviors through observational learning. There are good models of
behavior. Models such as how to act appropriately in certain situations. On the other hand, there are
bad models. Those little negative traits, and habits we pick up from watching others. Often times we
hear people say: He/she did not have proper home training. This comes from ... Show more content on

If you have ever made a face at an infant and watched them try to imitate it, this is the observational
process at work. The same with a toddler who sees his parents folding laundry. Later the child will
grab some clothes and pretend to be folding them. A young boy watches another boy on the
playground get in trouble for hitting another child. He learns from observing this interaction that he
should not hit others (Cherry, 2016).
There are several factors that influence observational learning. They are attention: The person must
have their focus directed at the model. Retention: The observer must be able to code, and store
patterns so the data can be retrieved. Motor reproduction: Kinesthetic and neuromuscular patterns are
practiced with successive iterations until the model s behavior is approximated by the observer (
Albert Bandura Observational Learning, 2016). Lastly reinforcement and incentives: These send the
learner in the direction of wanting to pay attention, retain, and recall the action in

There were complications with the Old World, Native Americans, and within their own colonies.
Nevertheless, the thirteen colonies erupted along the Atlantic seaboard. The New England colonies

Nonetheless, all of this didn t come easy to them. In the winter of 1620 1621, only forty four

Winthrop believed common people couldn t rule. Also, people who challenged the church

Grendel Vs Beowulf Essay
When looking at Beowulf and Grendel, one perceives them in different ways when reading different
versions of the story of Beowulf. Each character goes through the same or similar actions they had
gone through in other versions but they are either shown as a hero or a villain depending on the writer
s opinions, beliefs, and lifestyle. The Beowulf poem displays a more compelling argument for
Beowulf by eloquently wording his actions and words, diligently staying on topic, and constantly
showing Beowulf under the same lime light throughout the poem. Beowulf is the main focus of the
piece and the characters introduced assist his cause as a hero. They did use methods that could have
potentially harmed his cause but Beowulf used them to prove his enemies among the Thanes wrong.
Unferth, sick with envy, did boast over how Beowulf had took on Breca in a swimming match on the
open sea, however Beowulf used the argument to his advantage by saying he had finished off the sea
beasts that had attempted to kill Beowulf after he was driven away from Breca by the waves (Beowulf
lines 502, 506 507, 558). Characters overall helped his cause even though they might have tried to kill

If he had originally assisted others before Grendel, then the poem would have mentioned something.
However, this version is still effective because it got straight to the point. The fight he did have with

The Role Of Multi Agency Working ( Maw )
Working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal is often known as multi
agency working (MAW). Multi agency working is about providing a seamless response to individuals
with multiple and complex needs. (scie.org,2010). In the child protection sector, MAW can be
beneficial not only to provide a more efficient and better standard of care but also in providing support
to other health care professionals as it reduces workloads for members of staff; decreasing stress and
prevents repetition. However, MAW can also prove to have many negative factors such as poor
communication and often dominant characters and conflict can arise between agencies; this can lead
to important pieces of information being misinterpreted. Legislation surrounding child protection was
first introduced in the late 1800 s. It was then that parliament launched their first act for the prevention
of cruelty towards children, otherwise known as the children s charter . A cause for concern was raised
regarding the welfare of vulnerable children and abuse being inflicted upon them. It allowed the law to
intervene if a child was being maltreated. (Safeguarding children, N.D). In the early 1900 s this act
was amended and replaced by The Children Act (1908) this allowed children the right to a voice and
to give evidence at regarding their abuse claims. Following on from these, further amendments were
made over the years. After the death of Dennis O Neil whom was 13 years old and murdered

Othering In The Stranger
According to sociologists, othering is how individual s view or treat (a person or group of people) as
intrinsically different from and alien to oneself. In other terms, the idea of otherness is mainly used for
sociologically based analyses of how majority and minority identities are constructed. According to
The Stranger by Albert Camus and The Meursault Investigation by Kamel Daoud, both authors
inscribe the idea of othering in their pieces of literature unintentionally. The protagonists of both
novels come from distinct backgrounds and therefore, we witness a cultural clash amongst the
protagonist s beliefs and the societies they live in. This is especially confirmed because the
representation of different groups within any given society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Both protagonists gave up on finding the purpose to their lives and began living animalistically
thinking primitively instead of cognitively. The effects of social pressure and othering also force the
protagonists to live by the existential philosophy which means they lack a sense of emotion and
interaction amongst other individuals. Meursault and Harun both state that they feel little to any
remorse after killing an innocent individual. The explanation for this is because they have the
mentality that shit just happens and there does not necessarily need to be a reason for it.
The philosophy of othering has extremely negative effects on society and the people in it. It forces the
idea of one group being better than the other. The sense of nationalism tied with othering causes others
to feel as though they do not belong or causes people to have too much pride in themselves. We see
being a part of either part if the spectrum only leads to chaos and

The Affordable Care Act Is Surrounded By Numerous...
The Affordable Care Act is surrounded by numerous political circumstances. The Affordable Care Act
has been called by many names such as Obama Care or healthcare overhaul. The healthcare overhaul
is one of the rare policies that has been developed, but not tweaked to perfection; it may never be
tweaked to satisfy everyone, but it could still improve. According to the article entitled The Science of
Muddling Through by Charles Lindblom Policy is not made once and for all; it is made and re made
endlessly (Lindblom, 1959, pp. 86). The act of policy making is based on consecutive approximations
to some sought after objective in which the ultimately desired objective continuously changes under

Thousands of families await the fate of hearing their loved one has died, when the absence of that war

Each and every time there was a war in history, it was started by one person or group that had to make
a choice; start a war or choose not to. Every person and country faced with this decision had many
other options as well, unlike a natural disaster that starts and ends without any human influence. For
instance, the Revolutionary War was started when the colonists decided they did not want to continue
to live under the taxation and rule of the British King. As a group of people, they came together after
writing The Declaration Of Independence, and decided that a war was their best option, when they
could have selected a different approach, such as writing another document or simply deciding to live
under the rule of the king. This is true for all wars: the American Civil war, World War I, World War
II, etc. Every war fought began with a person or country deciding to attack another, such as in the
American Civil war, when the northern and southern sides of America decided to start a war over
taxation, state rights, and slavery. With every war fought, one person or group had to make the
decision, and clearly they have all made the wrong

Examples Of Morality In Frankenstein
Science against Morality Science has been improving throughout the history that changed the way we
think and live. Furthermore, as more things are being discovered we attempt to make our lives better.
Since chemistry had contradicted alchemy, we were able to go for the modern technology. This all
happened when people thirsted and hungered for their new knowledge. However, would this scientific
knowledge affect our morality? Mary Shelley wrote this remarkable book Frankenstein which talks
about this issue. The book points out the creation of monster, death of Justine, contrast of Henry and
Victor. With these I will explain these symbols and concepts; and analyzing his world views too.
First I want to talk about the monster. This creature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

her innocent crimes (page 70). But Victor has not report his issue about the monster; which would
have saved Justine s life. Then Victor shows his bitterness after she died (page 71). Why didn t victor
report the monster and end this issue. If Victor revealed his secrets of the monster, he would be
responsible for William s death. Furthermore, the University of Ingolstadt is unaware about Victor s
monster. Basically, Victor will lose his Job as a scientist. However, we Christians believe we should
tell the truth even if it hurts A truthful witness saves lives, but one who breathes out lies is deceitful
(Proverbs 14:25). Victor has become a dishonest witness and committed a great crime against our
Lord, There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a
lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make
haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers
(Proverbs 6:16 19). Justine s death is a show the results when Victor tried to play God through science.
Therefore, Victor burdens are heavier than

A Experiment On Magnetic Field
Theory A magnetic field is an area in which there is an electrical charge where a magnetic force acts.
A magnetic field can be induced in a circular loop and it can be calculated if the radius, current, and
number of turns are all known. When in the form of a coil it is directed along the axis of the coil and is
usually uniform throughout the coil until it begins to fall off when it gets further away from the center.
Another characteristic of magnetic field is that it can be changed to induce a voltage. That induced
voltage is known as the magnetic flux and it can be calculated by knowing the area of the coil and the
value of the magnetic field going through the coil.
Experimental Procedure This experiment was broken up into four different parts. It began by verifying
the connections and understanding the direction of the sensor. The next section measured the field
versus the current and the purpose of this was to find the value of the vacuum magnetic constant μ0 by
using the measured magnetic field and the current of the coil. In the following portion of the
experiment the purpose was to measure the rate at which the magnetic field drops off as the sensor is
moved away from the cell. The final part of the experiment had one use a magnet to change the field
of the coil so that a voltage could be induced and measured.
Results
The experiment began by connecting the magnetic field sensor to the universal lab interface and
setting it to 6.4mT. Once the field was set up a

Squalane Lab Report
Squalane is a hydrocarbon closely related to the compound squalene, which has a role in hopanoid
synthesis in bacteria. Hopanoids have an important role in regulating membrane fluidity at different
temperatures. Squalane was added to samples of Rhodobacter Sphaeroides in low, ideal, and high
temperature conditions in order to determine if this compound indirectly affects hopanoid synthesis,
and therefore, the capacity for growth in non ideal temperatures as compared to samples without
squalane. To determine if growth enhancement effects observed with squalane are due to the
compound being used as a substrate, bacteria were grown with and without it while suspended in
either nutrient broth or minimal media. The mechanism of degradation of squalane

A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly fifteen hundred pounds of marijuana within
about 15 minutes to induce a lethal response... In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many
of the foods we commonly consume. For example, eating ten raw potatoes can result in a toxic
response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death. DEA

In India marijuana was holy and was given to people by the Hindu god Shiva as a gift. It was taken as
a drink mixed with milk and sugar, and was available to many people because it was inexpensive.
(Abel 33) Use in ancient Rome was noted around 70 A.D. by a physician named Pedacius Dioscorides
in a book about plants and their healing characteristics. The book contained information that
marijuana was a good remedy for earaches, and this treatment was used throughout Europe for about
1500 years. Recently scientists discovered a body of a woman who died of childbirth 1600 years ago.
Close to the body, a burnt substance was found and with later investigation the substance was
determined to be marijuana. Scientists concluded that marijuana was used to ease labor pains (Abel
33). Marijuana use in the United States is more recent. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both
grew marijuana on their estates and Washington said to Make the most of the hemp seed, and sow it
everywhere (Schleichert 9). During the early 1800 s marijuana was sold as extracts that were said to
help cure aliments ranging from migraines and asthma to epilepsy, insomnia, chronic bronchitis and
gonorrhea. Later, around 1890, the medical use of marijuana declined with the invention of the
hypodermic needle. Drugs could now have quicker and more reliable pain relief and finally in 1941
cannabis was taken out of professional

Professional Sports And The Civil Era
Professional sports were segregated in the United States, just like the rest of the country was during
the 1940s, but between the cooperation of two men the color barrier was broken in professional sports.
The unwritten rule of not allowing blacks to play professional baseball had been standing since the
1880s. No professional sport in America at the time had any participating African Americans, yet
many African Americans were participating in the Olympics. Famous African American olympians,
such as Jesse Owens and John Taylor, were highly celebrated for their accomplishments, yet no
change was made within the professional sports world. Robinson was not the first attempt at breaking
the color barrier in professional sports but Branch Rickey, the President and GM of the Dodgers, felt
he was the one to complete the transformation. The African Americans in the United States were still
playing baseball beyond college at this time, but in their own collection of leagues called the Negro
Major Leagues. African Americans were able to play in some of the integrated colleges around the
country but the integration ended there. They were allowed to play in Major League Baseball but it
just did not happen, the MLB commissioner of the time Judge Landis said, there was no rule on the
books prohibiting a black man from joining a major league team. It was up to the owners to hire
whom they pleased (Golenbock). Judge Landis had no problem stating the fact that they were allowed

The Benefits Of Gay And Lesbians In The Military
In addition, all people should be allowed to serve freely in the military. If gay, lesbian and bisexual
people are willing to serve and die for their country, they shouldn t hide their sexual orientation. Gay
and lesbian Americans are anxiously willing to serve the country but they also want to reveal their true
identity as homosexuals. And for the first time ever, they will be able to openly join the army. Brave
men and women currently serving in the army will have the opportunity to come out freely and to be
honest with their companions about whom they are and who they love. Therefore, nationalistic
Americans in uniform will no longer have to lie about who they are in order to serve the country they
love. And the armed forces will no longer lose its remarkable skills and combat experience of so many
gay and lesbian service members.
Today, every American can be honored that we have taken another great step toward keeping our
military the finest in the world and toward fulfilling our nation s founding ideals. Many countries
prohibited gays and lesbians from serving openly in the armed forces. The reasons to implement this
prohibition, included the hidden negative bounce on unit cohesion and confidential concerns.
However, many studies were charged to examine the effects on the military, and found that little
evidence existed to support the prejudiced policy. Moreover, when the ban was abolished in several
countries including the UK, Canada, and Australia, no large scale

Why selection of Germany? According to traveler s digest, Germany s size is comparatively small to

Nikki Giovanni s Kidnap Poem Imagery
Kidnap by Nikki Giovanni is a short poem about referring to her lover whom she has great desires to
be with. Giovanni wants her lover to return to her or to continue staying with her and shows her
devotion for her lover through this poem. With Nikki Giovanni s use of repetition, imagery, and
metaphor, the purpose of this poem is to captive the reader s mind through her words. Giovanni s use
of imagery in this poem appeals to the readers senses and shows readers that poetry can take them to

Introduction and Background of the study
Eggshell, as for what we know, is the outer covering of an egg. According
to Sonenklar, the US food industry generate 150,000 tons of eggshell wastes per
year. The percentage on how the eggshells are disposed are 26.6% as fertilizer,
21.1% used for animal feeds, 26.3% being thrown in municipal dumps, and
26.0% used for other purposes. The eggshell is mostly made up of calcium

Understanding Cannabinoids And Their Effects
Understanding Cannabinoids
Join us (and the rest of the world) in somewhat understanding cannabinoids and their effects.
Understanding cannabinoids as a layman seems to be only slightly less confusing than understanding
them as a scientist. That s not entirely true, but we are talking about a system within the human body
with who knows how many receptors and we ve identified exactly two in the last twenty years. Which
is great, because new science is fun, and the concept of understanding cannabinoids is definitely new
science.
What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are compounds that produce the effects experienced from ingesting Cannabis.
There are four types of cannabinoids recognized by the National Institutes of Health:
* Phytocannabinoids include all of the plant material (leaves, stem, seeds, etc.)
* Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that are produced by the human body
* Synthetic cannabinoids are chemical imitations
* Purified natural occurring extracts are attempts to isolate cannabinoids
The discovery of endocannabinoids led to the identification of an entire system in the human body,
comprised of lipids, receptors, and enzymes. The endocannabinoid system is responsible for a host of
physiological processes that rely on the interactivity of cannabinoids and their receptors. Since their
discovery and cloning in the early 90s, the CB1 and CB2 receptors are still the only receptors that
have been identified in the endocannabinoid system. The location of a

Flint Water Crisis Case Study
The Flint water crisis began with the city officials decision to change their water source in an attempt
to save a significant amount of money. This switch from using Lake Huron as a water source, to using
the Flint River cascaded into a failure to adhere to federal environmental laws and regulations and
eventually the government s manipulation to hide the problem and inaction to fix it. The city s largest
technical and engineering related failures was their corruption of science by not using corrosion
control in the water and skewing testing data and procedures to ignore the problem. After the water
switch to the Flint River and water treatment plant in April of 2015, there were growing concerns in
the community that experienced signs of lead poisoning. Flint resident, Leanne Walters grew scared

WHO. City officials discredited all tests run by civilians and Virginia Tech and stated that their results
did not match any of the clean results run by MDEQ (Michigan Department of Environmental
Quality). Further investigation showed MDEQ s testing protocols allowed them to get biased data
through pre cleaning of pipes and manipulative selection of sample locations. This scientific failure to
test for environmental hazards was the second major failure by officials, which allowed this disaster to
carry on much longer than necessary and could have prevented the deaths of 12 Flint residents that

Children Early Intervention Programs Essay
Nobody makes a conscious decision to be a bad parent. People often just lack the resources or skills
needed, they encounter other barriers, or make bad decisions along the way that result in the inability
to effectively parent a child, more often than not perpetuating their disadvantage for yet another
generation. Disadvantage allows poor social determinants to take hold. To break the cycle that is a root
cause of today s healthcare costs, we must find ways to finance programs that will inoculate
disadvantaged children against poor social determinants. While we can t mandate a certain degree of
financial stability, competency, and commitment to fully engage in the art/science of child rearing

behavior problems, the most effective interventions were those that occurred prior to school age (the
earlier the intervention, the better the outcomes) when parents received the appropriate guidance

Analysis Of The Movie 7 Series
7 Up series was created because the director wanted to show the world that a group of children could
make a better nation. To be honest, 7 up series got my attention because recording fourteen people
lives every seven years means a lot of work and dedication. Moreover, I feel that this series was
created mostly to entertain the public all over the world which makes me feel concerned about all the
characters involved. 7 up characters had the responsibility to show the world that you can succeed no
matter your background. Also, I perceive this series played an important role to initiate reality TV
shows. The 7 up series was famous worldwide that even Asia imitated it. Overall, the main reason this
film was created was to have a glimpse of the future of England, which I found absurd because an
entire nation is not defined by short film based on fourteen children.
One of the advantages that you can appreciate from this film is that ambitions and life in general are
not stable at all; however, personality and character traits tend to remain the same. The disadvantage
that these characters had was that they didn t have the opportunity to choose if they wanted to be part
of the program or not. These children exposed their personal and professional lives to the entire world.
There were scenes in the film where the characters looked sentimental and uncomfortable, and the
director kept recording. I found that really annoying and disrespectful because they invaded the
characters

Compare And Contrast A Tale Of Two Schools
From the 1860s forward, much focus was in the country was on people and their inherit rights under
the United States constitution. However, even with all men being equal under the law in the 1940s,
many were still segregated and racism was and still is very much alive. School districts had separate
schools for whites and blacks and some systems even had separate schools for Mexican Americans.
Mendez v. Westminster was the first case in 1947 that overruled the segregation of schools due to race
and language in the Westminster, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and El Modena school districts of Orange
County. This case was a major positive stride in the desegregation in America at the time. During the

Things were said that were very traumatic to the Mendez and other families defending the honor of

Mexican schools gave special instruction to students who didn t speak English and who were
unfamiliar with American values and customs. Such Americanization programs benefited both Anglos
and Mexicans ( A Tale of Two Schools ). Kent, the superintendent for the district, stated that
...thinking in Spanish, they cannot compete with the other students and advance in the same grade at
the same age (Strum, 2014). During testimony it was also stated that Mexicans were like pigs who
should be kept in pig pens and that they carried lice and many other diseases because they are so
filthy. ( A Tale of Two Schools ). Kent also stated that Mexican s grow faster physically, but that their
brains were a year retarded and therefore segregation was completely legitimate (Strum, 2014).
However, Sylvia and her two brothers took the stand during the trial and both spoke fluent English and
presented themselves very well, basically destroying Ogle and Kent s argument by sitting on the stand
alone. Their testimony proved that they spoke well enough English to be in a non segregated school
and that they weren t filthy creatures as Ken purposed. The children s and many other s testimony
brought to light that their English skills were

Data Security: Traditional file organization has security advantages over electronic filing, but it also
has its disadvantages. Electronic files are usually accessible on a network, which means it s possible
for an unauthorized person to gain access to electronic data over the Internet through hacking
methods.
Access time: One of the primary disadvantages of traditional file systems is the time it takes to access
data. It can take minutes if not hours to locate a few files in a large paper filing system. Electronic
databases allow for almost instantaneous access to information
Editing and communication: Traditional file systems are cumbersome in that they do not allow users
to easily edit files or send information to others. Paper files often cannot be edited directly, forcing
users to make new copies to update old files.
Order of data: Data can get out of order in traditional filing systems. If someone accidentally puts a
file in the wrong place, or takes a file out of a cabinet and forgets to put it back, it can lead to lost data
or the creation of additional copies of files. Electronic filing systems allow users to quickly check
whether information already exists somewhere in the system, which helps avoid problems like
redundant files and data

Newspapers, books, television, radio and the Internet not only play significant role in an average person s life but are also multi billion pound industries that, through the public exposure they are subject to, carry great influence. One of the oldest media formats still in use is the newspaper. This old printed format carries great political power and boasts huge readerships, partly due to its cheap price, never exceeding a few pounds an issue, and its portability. However, tabloids are generally considered to be the more sensationalist, emotionally concerned and subjective newspapers containing more pictures and easy to read text (such as the Sun and the Mirror). Typically, Many Tabloid only require a reading age of 9, thus allowing them to be readily understood by the less well educated and intellectual members of the public. Clearly, the properties of these formats can be seen as direct opposites. However they do share some similarities. An obvious common property of all newspapers is that they are commercial, that is, that they will try to appeal to a large a readership as possible, within their market niche readership and this is reflected in their range of content and style. Some newspapers try to appeal to more people by mixing elements of tabloids and broadsheets (such as the Daily Mail and the Daily Express), although the large tabloid and broadsheet newspapers tend to follow the traditional stereotypical styles for their type. The other key similarity between each type of newspaper is that they all exist to report the news and current affairs, differing only in the way in which they present and portray news stories which is also dependent on the preference of their readership. • 6. Authority In The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Should one question Authority? This is a question that has been asked by people for ages. But what should be asked is if there is ever a time not to question authority. It is extremely important to challenge the ideas of people in positions of power and authority. One can look back thousands of years and see an abundance of examples over the Millennia, where practices at the time were proven to be incorrect. The world wouldn t be the way it is today if people didn t question authority. In ancient Egypt, the authority on medicine said that the brain was only used to produce mucus, during the medieval period, the catholic church said that the sun circled the Earth, and sixty years ago society said that black people had to sit in the back of buses. • 8. Persuasive Essay On Juveniles Elizabeth Alexander had nearly fallen asleep one ___ night in 2016 when she was jostled awake by a firecracker of a noise. She noticed an unusually bright orange light, which she at first thought it was a street light beaming through a starless Selma sky. She soon realized it was instead her car, engulfed in radiant flames. One of the only items she owned was being taken from her, and she could do nothing about it. She sat in awe and disbelief, a moment of euphoria that would set her life on an unexpected journey. Until that point, Alexander had lived her life as a rebel, a badge she wore proudly after years of internal turmoil. She spent time in foster care as a child, since her diabetic mother was in and out of the hospital and could not always care for her three children. While there, Alexander was sexually abused by older girls in the system. In school, she was bullied. All of these environmental elements led to creating Alexander s tough girl persona as a child. I was a fighter. I would fight you, it didn t matter who you were, because I got picked on so much that it became my defense, Alexander said. • 9. Example Of Observational Learning The topic that I chose for this week is observational learning. Observational learning is learning by others and imitating their behavior (Griggs, 2009, p. xx). Observational learning can help us when we want to learn how to play sports, drive a car, or even learn to write letters. There are numerous things we can acquire through observational learning. Many of us watched our mother and grandmother bake, or even just cook when we were younger. We picked up many of the things that they did, this is another example of observational learning. We also learn attitudes and behaviors through observational learning. There are good models of behavior. Models such as how to act appropriately in certain situations. On the other hand, there are bad models. Those little negative traits, and habits we pick up from watching others. Often times we hear people say: He/she did not have proper home training. This comes from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you have ever made a face at an infant and watched them try to imitate it, this is the observational process at work. The same with a toddler who sees his parents folding laundry. Later the child will grab some clothes and pretend to be folding them. A young boy watches another boy on the playground get in trouble for hitting another child. He learns from observing this interaction that he should not hit others (Cherry, 2016). There are several factors that influence observational learning. They are attention: The person must have their focus directed at the model. Retention: The observer must be able to code, and store patterns so the data can be retrieved. Motor reproduction: Kinesthetic and neuromuscular patterns are practiced with successive iterations until the model s behavior is approximated by the observer ( Albert Bandura Observational Learning, 2016). Lastly reinforcement and incentives: These send the learner in the direction of wanting to pay attention, retain, and recall the action in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Grendel Vs Beowulf Essay When looking at Beowulf and Grendel, one perceives them in different ways when reading different versions of the story of Beowulf. Each character goes through the same or similar actions they had gone through in other versions but they are either shown as a hero or a villain depending on the writer s opinions, beliefs, and lifestyle. The Beowulf poem displays a more compelling argument for Beowulf by eloquently wording his actions and words, diligently staying on topic, and constantly showing Beowulf under the same lime light throughout the poem. Beowulf is the main focus of the piece and the characters introduced assist his cause as a hero. They did use methods that could have potentially harmed his cause but Beowulf used them to prove his enemies among the Thanes wrong. Unferth, sick with envy, did boast over how Beowulf had took on Breca in a swimming match on the open sea, however Beowulf used the argument to his advantage by saying he had finished off the sea beasts that had attempted to kill Beowulf after he was driven away from Breca by the waves (Beowulf lines 502, 506 507, 558). • 15. The Role Of Multi Agency Working ( Maw ) Working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal is often known as multi agency working (MAW). Multi agency working is about providing a seamless response to individuals with multiple and complex needs. (scie.org,2010). In the child protection sector, MAW can be beneficial not only to provide a more efficient and better standard of care but also in providing support to other health care professionals as it reduces workloads for members of staff; decreasing stress and prevents repetition. However, MAW can also prove to have many negative factors such as poor communication and often dominant characters and conflict can arise between agencies; this can lead to important pieces of information being misinterpreted. Legislation surrounding child protection was first introduced in the late 1800 s. It was then that parliament launched their first act for the prevention of cruelty towards children, otherwise known as the children s charter . A cause for concern was raised regarding the welfare of vulnerable children and abuse being inflicted upon them. It allowed the law to intervene if a child was being maltreated. (Safeguarding children, N.D). In the early 1900 s this act was amended and replaced by The Children Act (1908) this allowed children the right to a voice and to give evidence at regarding their abuse claims. In other terms, the idea of otherness is mainly used for sociologically based analyses of how majority and minority identities are constructed. According to The Stranger by Albert Camus and The Meursault Investigation by Kamel Daoud, both authors inscribe the idea of othering in their pieces of literature unintentionally. • 24. A Experiment On Magnetic Field Theory A magnetic field is an area in which there is an electrical charge where a magnetic force acts. A magnetic field can be induced in a circular loop and it can be calculated if the radius, current, and number of turns are all known. When in the form of a coil it is directed along the axis of the coil and is usually uniform throughout the coil until it begins to fall off when it gets further away from the center. Another characteristic of magnetic field is that it can be changed to induce a voltage. That induced voltage is known as the magnetic flux and it can be calculated by knowing the area of the coil and the value of the magnetic field going through the coil. Experimental Procedure This experiment was broken up into four different parts. It began by verifying the connections and understanding the direction of the sensor. The next section measured the field versus the current and the purpose of this was to find the value of the vacuum magnetic constant μ0 by using the measured magnetic field and the current of the coil. In the following portion of the experiment the purpose was to measure the rate at which the magnetic field drops off as the sensor is moved away from the cell. The final part of the experiment had one use a magnet to change the field of the coil so that a voltage could be induced and measured. Results The experiment began by connecting the magnetic field sensor to the universal lab interface and setting it to 6.4mT. Once the field was set up a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Understanding Cannabinoids And Their Effects Understanding Cannabinoids Join us (and the rest of the world) in somewhat understanding cannabinoids and their effects. Understanding cannabinoids as a layman seems to be only slightly less confusing than understanding them as a scientist. That s not entirely true, but we are talking about a system within the human body with who knows how many receptors and we ve identified exactly two in the last twenty years. Which is great, because new science is fun, and the concept of understanding cannabinoids is definitely new science. What are cannabinoids? Cannabinoids are compounds that produce the effects experienced from ingesting Cannabis. There are four types of cannabinoids recognized by the National Institutes of Health: * Phytocannabinoids include all of the plant material (leaves, stem, seeds, etc.) * Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that are produced by the human body * Synthetic cannabinoids are chemical imitations * Purified natural occurring extracts are attempts to isolate cannabinoids The discovery of endocannabinoids led to the identification of an entire system in the human body, comprised of lipids, receptors, and enzymes. The endocannabinoid system is responsible for a host of physiological processes that rely on the interactivity of cannabinoids and their receptors. Since their discovery and cloning in the early 90s, the CB1 and CB2 receptors are still the only receptors that have been identified in the endocannabinoid system. The location of a ... • 35. Flint Water Crisis Case Study The Flint water crisis began with the city officials decision to change their water source in an attempt to save a significant amount of money. This switch from using Lake Huron as a water source, to using the Flint River cascaded into a failure to adhere to federal environmental laws and regulations and eventually the government s manipulation to hide the problem and inaction to fix it. The city s largest technical and engineering related failures was their corruption of science by not using corrosion control in the water and skewing testing data and procedures to ignore the problem. After the water switch to the Flint River and water treatment plant in April of 2015, there were growing concerns in the community that experienced signs of lead poisoning. Even the EPA dismissed any concerns and labeled Del Toral a rogue employee . A team of researchers led by professor Marc Edwards, ran tests on hundreds of homes in Flint reading highly elevated levels of lead in water that far exceeded the maximum parts per billion of lead allowed by the EPA and WHO. City officials discredited all tests run by civilians and Virginia Tech and stated that their results did not match any of the clean results run by MDEQ (Michigan Department of Environmental Quality). Further investigation showed MDEQ s testing protocols allowed them to get biased data through pre cleaning of pipes and manipulative selection of sample locations. This scientific failure to test for environmental hazards was the second major failure by officials, which allowed this disaster to carry on much longer than necessary and could have prevented the deaths of 12 Flint residents that died from Legionnaires disease and the countless unknown effects done to other children and residents of ... • 36. Children Early Intervention Programs Essay Nobody makes a conscious decision to be a bad parent. People often just lack the resources or skills needed, they encounter other barriers, or make bad decisions along the way that result in the inability to effectively parent a child, more often than not perpetuating their disadvantage for yet another generation. Disadvantage allows poor social determinants to take hold. To break the cycle that is a root cause of today s healthcare costs, we must find ways to finance programs that will inoculate disadvantaged children against poor social determinants. While we can t mandate a certain degree of financial stability, competency, and commitment to fully engage in the art/science of child rearing before issuing a license to conceive, we ... A case manager/navigator/peer specialist would be assigned to assist the family in identifying the right resources based on social and even clinical needs, potentially even referring to special education for an intellectual or developmental disability or for intensive in home treatment through a healthcare provider if behaviors point to a mental health condition. It is imperative that the appropriate interventions occur in a disadvantaged child s early years, when both cognitive and emotional development are most easily influenced. For example, Strain Timm (2001) note that in addressing behavior problems, the most effective interventions were those that occurred prior to school age (the earlier the intervention, the better the outcomes) when parents received the appropriate guidance needed to: be more vigilant in monitoring their child s activities, (b) assist other key persons in the child s life to interact in a fashion consistent with the parents new interaction style, (c) help their child to set self management goals, and (d) recruit family and community support for their child and themselves. (para. 5) Of course, identifying a mechanism to finance the availability of these programs nationwide is a mindboggling challenge. According to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Analysis Of The Movie 7 Series 7 Up series was created because the director wanted to show the world that a group of children could make a better nation. To be honest, 7 up series got my attention because recording fourteen people lives every seven years means a lot of work and dedication. Moreover, I feel that this series was created mostly to entertain the public all over the world which makes me feel concerned about all the characters involved. 7 up characters had the responsibility to show the world that you can succeed no matter your background. Also, I perceive this series played an important role to initiate reality TV shows. The 7 up series was famous worldwide that even Asia imitated it. Overall, the main reason this film was created was to have a glimpse of the future of England, which I found absurd because an entire nation is not defined by short film based on fourteen children. One of the advantages that you can appreciate from this film is that ambitions and life in general are not stable at all; however, personality and character traits tend to remain the same. The disadvantage that these characters had was that they didn t have the opportunity to choose if they wanted to be part of the program or not. These children exposed their personal and professional lives to the entire world. There were scenes in the film where the characters looked sentimental and uncomfortable, and the director kept recording. I found that really annoying and disrespectful because they invaded the characters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, even with all men being equal under the law in the 1940s, many were still segregated and racism was and still is very much alive. School districts had separate schools for whites and blacks and some systems even had separate schools for Mexican Americans. Mendez v. Westminster was the first case in 1947 that overruled the segregation of schools due to race and language in the Westminster, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and El Modena school districts of Orange County. Things were said that were very traumatic to the Mendez and other families defending the honor of 5,000 Chicano students. The biggest argument from the lead prosecutor, Ogle during the trial was the Mexican schools gave special instruction to students who didn t speak English and who were unfamiliar with American values and customs. Such Americanization programs benefited both Anglos and Mexicans ( A Tale of Two Schools ). Kent, the superintendent for the district, stated that ...thinking in Spanish, they cannot compete with the other students and advance in the same grade at the same age (Strum, 2014). During testimony it was also stated that Mexicans were like pigs who should be kept in pig pens and that they carried lice and many other diseases because they are so filthy. ( A Tale of Two Schools ). Kent also stated that Mexican s grow faster physically, but that their brains were a year retarded and therefore segregation was completely legitimate (Strum, 2014). However, Sylvia and her two brothers took the stand during the trial and both spoke fluent English and presented themselves very well, basically destroying Ogle and Kent s argument by sitting on the stand alone. Their testimony proved that they spoke well enough English to be in a non segregated school and that they weren t filthy creatures as Ken purposed. Electronic files are usually accessible on a network, which means it s possible for an unauthorized person to gain access to electronic data over the Internet through hacking methods. Access time: One of the primary disadvantages of traditional file systems is the time it takes to access data. It can take minutes if not hours to locate a few files in a large paper filing system. Electronic databases allow for almost instantaneous access to information Editing and communication: Traditional file systems are cumbersome in that they do not allow users to easily edit files or send information to others. Paper files often cannot be edited directly, forcing users to make new copies to update old files. Order of data: Data can get out of order in traditional filing systems. If someone accidentally puts a file in the wrong place, or takes a file out of a cabinet and forgets to put it back, it can lead to lost data or the creation of additional copies of files.
