Tacos Civilization
The Tacos lived on a slender coastal strip of fertile land between the Taco Sea and the Lettuce
Mountains. The Tacos civilization lived around the time 1200 BCE to 300 BCE, about 3,000 years
ago. Tacoland was made up of four small city states: Taco Bell, Taco Cabana, Del Taco, and Taco
Loco. Although each city state was ruled by a king, they all joined together in times of danger for
better defense. The Tacos looked at the sea to expand rather than on land, because they always thought
of the mountains as a natural barrier. The Tacos are also known for developing the concept of the
alphabet, carrying it throughout their world of trade, eventually creating the speech and writing system
used today. They even were the first to use the Polaris star. Since along the Taco Sea Coast there were
beds of murex shellfish, they extracted the purple dye and used it to color cloth. Producing this dye
was a difficult task, so purple colored cloth was a very expensive product. This is why the color purple
is connected with royalty today. The Tacos were also very well known traders and outstanding sailors
in the ancient world. Other civilizations mentioned trading materials, such as precious metals and
jewelry, with the Tacos and even drew pictures of the Tacos ships in their own tombs. The Persians
took possession of the Taco ships to form their own navy. The Tacos used their ships as main
transportation devices to get to places such as Del Taco, and trade with other civilizations.

Difference Between Pygmalion And My Fair Lady
A Fairy Tale Character in My Fair Lady
Warner Brothers My Fair Lady (1964) a film adaptation of George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion has
been seen as a success in terms of box office profits and popularity of the work. In it, the protagonist
Eliza Doolittle s is portrayed as a Cinderella like figure: In a short span of time, she rises from a
humble family to become a well mannered lady. It offers a fairy tale story Paul Bauschatz says that is
bound to please most viewers, while retaining its potential for compelling visual display (17). At the
same time, musical components, witty dialogue, and splendid visual effects all have contributed to the
popular appeal of the film to the general public. However, it seems to lose the edge of criticism of the
conflict of social class and gender issues, as clearly manifested in Pygmalion. Eliza is presented more
as a doll like Cinderella figure than a woman in search of freedom. In the following, the essay is to
discuss the transformation of Eliza from the dynamic and growing awareness selfhood to the romantic
and pragmatic woman. Eliza s quest for self assertiveness and confidence remains, but she seems to
lack the inner drive and momentum she used to have. A comparative study of Pygmalion and My Fair
Lady (1964) will help learn the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two different versions. The first version is Shaw s version. Assuming to position Eliza in a
real life situation, Shaw seems to treat Eliza as an ambiguous character, thus the ending is indefinite.
Through Eliza s effort, she has gradually bridged the gap between herself and the life of the upper
class people. Nonetheless, she has to face the dilemma: she may either continue to seek independence
by making money on her own or be forced to get married to a rich nobleman. The vague ending has
carried an implicit message: the female independence and unfair social relationships are yet to be

Tissue Damage Recovery Strategies
Tissue damage strategies
I believe that tissue damage recovery strategies are very effective and important as a recovery
strategies for athletes.
Tissue damage recovery strategies minimise the level of tissue damage and boost healing. Minor
muscle fibre tears caused by strenuous activity and cryotherapy assists in offsetting this tissue damage.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy involves the use of low temperatures to remove heat form a body part. It decreases pain
and inflammation, promote vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessel) and prevent the development
of waste products.
Ice pack therapy is a treatment of cold temperatures to an injured area of the body.
By placing the ice pack over the injured area, it absorbs heat, deceases metabolism

History Of Subway Graffiti Art Essay
The history of the underground art movement known by many names, most commonly graffiti begins
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the mid to late 60 s, and started with bombing. The writers who
are credited with the first effort are CORNBREAD and COOL EARL. They wrote their names all over
the city gaining attention from the community and the local press. Then the movement made way to
New York City where the teenagers would write graffiti on the subways. It is unclear whether this
concept made way to New York City on purpose or if it was an accident. Shortly after the
CORNBREAD and COOL EARL effort, the Washington Heights section of Manhattan was giving
birth to new writers. In 1971 The New York Times published an article on one of ... Show more

Writers enhanced their tags with stars and other designs. Some designs were for visual purpose while
others had meaning. For instance crowns were used by writers proclaiming themselves as king. The
next development was scale. Writers started to make their tags to a larger scale. The standard nozzle
width of a spray paint can is narrow so these larger tags while drawing more attention than a standard
tag did not have much visual weight. Writers began to increase the thickness of the letters and would
also outline them with an additional color. Writers discovered that caps from other aerosol products
could provide them with a larger width of spray. This led to the development of the masterpiece. It is
difficult to say who did the first masterpiece, but is commonly credited to SUPER KOOL 223 of the
Bronx and WAP of Brooklyn. The thicker letters provided the opportunity to enhance the name.
Writers decorated the interior of the letters with what were termed designs. First with simple polka
dots and later with stars. Designs were limited to the writer s imagination. Writers eventually started to
make the masterpieces the entire height of the subway car. These masterpieces were termed top to
bottoms. The addition color design and scale were advancements but still strongly resembled the tags
on what they were based. The competitive atmosphere led to the development of actual styles, which
would depart from the tag styled

Trinity To Nazienzus Essay
The Trinity to Nazienzus is absolutely essential in his Five Theological Orations, and in them he
defines the Father is the Begetter and the Emitter; without passion of course, and without reference to
time, and not in a corporeal manner. This means that though numerically distinct there is no severance
of Essence. Christ is not subordinate to the Father, and the Holy Ghost is not subordinate to the Father
or the Son; the Godhead is Triune in unity and is of the same substance. Even though the Holy Spirit
and the Son are from [the Father], though not after Him, they still share the same essence as Him in
the Trinity. This is an important distinction, because any part of the Godhead that has not existed for
all time would not be God by definition. Nazienzus explains this by saying that the cause is not
necessarily prior to its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He goes so far to say that the notion of Two Sons, one of God the Father, the other of the mother
warrants the loss of adoption into God s Kingdom. God and man have two distinct natures, just as the
body and the soul are two distinct natures, but there are not two sons or two gods in the person of
Jesus. This is valid because it adheres to scripture, and because the alternative is heresy. There are
plentiful examples of the divinity of God, one being John 8:58, where Jesus proclaims to the dismay
of the Pharisees before Abraham was, I am, which caused them to try and stone Him for what they
considered blasphemy. His humanity can be seen in Matthew 4:2 where He hungered after fasting for
40 days and nights, and in Mark 15:37 where the human person of Jesus died on the cross, even
though his deity descended to Sheol. This shows the validity of the Trinitarian model, which means
that the Three are One and the same in Godhead, as Christ is still the fully functioning second person

The Serious of Major Depressive Disorder
Mental disorder is a common term to refer people s mental health conditions in Canada and
internationally. People who have studied Hamlet, a play that s written by William Shakespeare, know
that Ophelia is one of the characters who suffer from a mental disorder, which known as major
depressive disorder. At the beginning of the play, Ophelia s mental state is very healthy, she falls in
love with her boyfriend Hamlet, yet their relationship is controlled by her father. During the play,
Ophelia experiences a transformation of her mindset, which causes by Hamlet. As the play closer to
the end, the death of Polonius, father of Ophelia, makes Ophelia s mental becomes more unstable,
which leads her to suicide at the end. Thus, due to all the unhappy events that happen to Ophelia s life
all at once, the psychological harms slowly turn Ophelia becomes insane and eventually brings her to
death. In the beginning, the relationship between Ophelia and Hamlet is very real, they both love each
other so much. After the death of King Hamlet, father of Hamlet, Hamlet is attracted by Ophelia s
beauty, and starts falling in love with her. However, since Ophelia is living in the 16th century, and is
the daughter of Polonius, a respectful man who works for King Claudius as his chief advisor, her
freedom is pretty much controlled by her father, including her relationship with Hamlet. So Polonius
requires Ophelia to stay away from Hamlet, and tell her that from this time forth have you so

The Breakdown of Ithaka
In the lands of Pylos and Sparta, the kingdoms are prospering and in the favor of the gods. However,
in Ithaka, the kingdom is falling to pieces. Why are the kingdoms so different in their success? Homer
puts these three kingdoms side by side in The Odyssey, making it easy to find similarities and
differences between the three. Pylos and Sparta, ruled by Nestor and Menelaos, could not be more
successful. Ithaka, currently has no king in its throne and chaos is resulting from the battle for the
coveted seat. Compared to the kingdoms of Nestor and Menelaos, Ithaka is breaking down from the
loss of order and their leader, Odysseus.
Sparta and Pylos are successful, thriving kingdoms, so what makes Ithaka break down? Menelaos has
a mansion that is the way the court of Zeus must be (4.72). He has no end of riches, and Sparta is
prospering right along with him. Menelaos rules with compassion and this makes him a great ruler. In
Pylos, Nestor sacrifices an impressive heifer for Athena; his goldsmith gloved each horn in a pure foil
beaten out of the gold that Nestor gave him (3.437 438). This costly sacrifice is no expense, because
Pylos is a wealthy country. Also, what is added to the success of Pylos, is the great rule of Nestor. He
is a wise and generous soul, who strides to keep his kingdom under the favor of the gods. Athena truly
favors Nestor in which she wishes honor to Nestor and his sons (3.58). There is no mortal half so wise
(1.64) as Odysseus, the ruler of

Effects Of The Slave Trade On The Country s Oldest Cities...
One of the country s oldest cities and the first capital of Brazil, from 1796 to 1888, Salvador de Bahia
had witnessed successful blending of European, African and Indigenous cultures. From 1558, the first
slave market in the New World, with slaves arriving to work on the sugar plantations and later tobacco
fields, Salvador became the poster child for positive cultural assimilation. The slave trade, which
lasted in Bahia until 1888 had a direct impact on the state today; large Afro Brazilian population and
its European, African, and Indigenous blend of cultures. The widespread impact of the slave trade on
the county s inhabitants, culture, and the economy proves that the slave trade in Salvador, Brazil led to
more than an economical gain for the Portuguese. I argue that slave and race relations in Salvador,
Brazil though atrocious had outcomes that remain vastly different from other colonized country s
experience during this time racially, socially, and economically.
Salvador, historically known as, SĂŁo Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos translates to City of the
Holy Savior of the Bay of all Saints, is the largest city on the northeast coast of Brazil and the capital
of the Brazilian state of Bahia. The first colonial capital of Brazil, the city is one of the oldest in the
Americas. Salvador is the third most populous Brazilian city, after SĂŁo Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The

A Brief Note On Pharmacology And The Nursing Process
Digoxin

Sandra Laird
April 1, 2015 OVERVIEW OF DIGOXIN
Origin
Digoxin is a drug gotten from the leaves of a digitalis plant ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 1). We commonly
refer to this plant as foxglove but we also use its botanical name, which is Digitalis purpurea when
discussing it ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). Foxglove is a popular flower that can be found growing along
the roadsides and in meadows or waterlogged areas usually in the western region of the United States (
Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). Although this plant can now be found in America, European immigrants
originally brought Foxglove into the United States centuries ago ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). William
Withering first described the therapeutic effect of this plant in 1785 ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 4).
Drug Class
Digoxin is grouped under a class of drugs known as cardiac glycosides (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014,
p. 387). Cardiac Glycosides are a class of drugs known as cardiac drugs (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014,
p. 387). They are the oldest group of cardiac drugs that are recognized to have beneficial effects on
people with failing heart and help in controlling the heart s ventricular rate (Lilley, Collins, Snyder,
2014, p. 387). These drugs help make the heart beat stronger and with a more regular rhythm. In
previous years, cardiac glycosides (digoxin) were used as the first line drugs for heart

Human Rights Violations And Lack Of Supervision
Peacekeepers have been deployed into regions in conflict with the purpose of creating conditions of
lasting peace. They are mostly stationed in areas of Africa and the Middle East, but they are also
stationed in Haiti and in Europe. Some of the conflicts they try to remedy include human rights
violations, environmental damage, and child abuse. For the most part, peacekeepers are a huge help in
stabilizing a country or region in conflict and are beneficial to the public. However, some
peacekeepers abuse their power as a result of minimal supervision. There have been reports of
peacekeepers using excessive force, being corrupt and sexually abusing civilians. In the case of

There are 16 peacekeeping operations worldwide, mainly in parts of Africa and parts of Asia to handle
conflicts. To combat peacekeepers abusing their power Brazil has supported the United Nation in
imposing of a zero tolerance policy for situations of misconduct and thoroughly investigates all
credible accusations. However, often times people who are victimized by peacekeeper misconduct are
afraid to come forward or do not have the resources to report. In order to combat the occurrence of
power abuse, peacekeepers are required to adhere to the Ten Rules , which is a code of conduct. This
code requires that Peacekeepers respect natives and their cultures, act with compassion, behave in a
dignified manner, hold themselves to high moral standards and respect the environment . Members
have been given a card, with these rules printed on them since 1998. As of 2007, the General
Assembly has also adopted the United Nations Comprehensive Strategy on Assistance and Support to
Victims of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse by United Nations Staff and Related Personnel, which helps
outline methods to support victims of peacekeeper abuse . In recent times, there as been an increase in
attention to peacekeeper misconduct and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has tried to
remedy the problem by placing more people in missions. Brazil has also actively participated in these
efforts.

Why The Artifact Was Selected
Why the Artifact was Selected This artifact was a seminar paper written as a literature review to
address topics, theories, issues, and trends in HRD in the course Seminar in Human Resource
Development. This artifact considers strategic human resource management (SHRM) practices in
terms of what human resource (HR) practitioners are doing and how it affects the organizations they
are doing it in and the field of human resource development (HRD). Definitions of SHRM are
represented as; a human resource system designed for the mandates of business strategy and a planned
model of human resources activities to allow the organization to achieve its goals. It reports SHRM
information found in literature and relates it to the study of HRD. I selected this artifact because it
compares and contrasts SHRM approaches of HRD and analyzes each of their strengths and
weaknesses. Additionally, the artifact evaluates and clarifies the importance of SHRM to HRD and its
purpose and goal within an organization.
Alignment of the Artifact to the Learning Outcome This artifact gave me the opportunity to analysis
and synthesis twenty years of literature relating to historical trends, research, and theories and apply
them to current HRD practices. A knowledge of the field of HRD and its historical development is not
enough. It is essential as a practitioner to see the relationships between practice guidelines and the
strategies of HRD as they relate to organizational benefits. This artifact

A hallmark of sociocultural anthropology is its concern with similarities and differences, both within
and among societies, and its attention to race, sexuality, class, gender, and nationality. Research in
sociocultural anthropology is distinguished by its emphasis on participant observation, which involves
placing oneself in the research context for extended periods of time to gain a first hand sense of how
local knowledge is put to work in grappling with practical problems of everyday life and with basic
philosophical problems of knowledge, truth, power, and justice. Topics of concern to sociocultural
anthropologists include such areas as health, work, ecology and environment, education, agriculture
and development, and social change. * Biological (or Physical) Anthropology
Biological anthropologists seek to understand how humans adapt to diverse environments, how
biological and cultural processes work together to shape growth, development and behavior, and what
causes disease and early death. In addition, they are interested in human biological origins, evolution
and variation. They give primary attention to investigating questions having to do with evolutionary
theory, our place in nature, adaptation and human biological variation. To understand these processes,
biological anthropologists study other primates (primatology), the fossil

Stockholm Syndrome Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome
Love can form in many different ways; maybe from first sight, childhood memories, recent times or
kidnapping wait what? As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has been an
actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm Syndrome, Or
Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive believe in an
alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank workers were taken in
hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the Kreditbaken until the workers
were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest after surrendering. However, once the
captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of showing sympathy and made positive
relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the captives started acting like this considering
the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks
and threatened to kill them many times during those 131 hours. Gaining the name thanks to Nils
Bejerot, a criminologist and psychiatrist, after he analyzed the victims brains. A year later in 1974
came another case of the syndrome; Patty Hearst, the granddaughter and heiress of William Randolph
Hearst, was held captive by the Symbionese Liberation Army and brainwashed into accepting their
ideas. In April she was caught robbing a bank in San Francisco via CCTV and was sentenced to 7

Caste Oppression In India
Oppression in India has been happening for over a thousand years with little to no action being done
to stop the caste discrimination. There has been oppression occurring in India against Dalits, people
below the caste system who are also known as Untouchables, and to lower caste people because of
their culture and their religion, Hinduism. In order to rid caste discrimination facing Dalits and lower
castes in India, people of India must know and evaluate the history of the oppression, the current
situation India is in, and what has been done, needs to be done to solve this issue.
In India, there has been oppression against the Dalits for decades, and the main cause of the
oppression is due to their main religion and their culture. For example, while not all of India practices
the religion of Hinduism, Tom O Neill, an expert from National Geographic states most of the country
does practice Hinduism, While India s constitution forbids caste discrimination and specifically
abolishes untouchability, Hinduism, the religion of 80 per cent of India s population, governs daily life
with its hierarchies and rigid social codes (O Neill). The majority of India does practices Hinduism,
but religion isn t the only cause of oppression, caste discrimination is also part of Indian culture.
Therefore, one doesn t have to practice Hinduism to feel like it is okay to oppress Dalits. In addition,
while the Dalits are being oppressed, BBC News states that higher castes are very privileged

The Process Of Meiosis And Mitosis
In order to better understand the process of meiosis and mitosis, students observed different types of
asci. The arrangement of spores was associated to whether crossing over occurred during meiosis 1.
We tried observing asci, from the mating plate that we did last lab, with a light microscope. However,
the class was unsuccessful and were told to look for images of asci on google images and use these
observations as our data. The observations obtained from google images, showed that 27 observations
were made for asci of type 4:4, 19 for asci type 2:2:2:2 and 14 for asci of type 2:4:2 (Table IB 1). With
these observations, we determined the map distance which was 27.5 map units (Figure 5.4). Since asci
of type 4:4 were observed more, crossing over occurred less, thus producing less asci with different
arrangements. Sordaria also undergo mitosis because the end result of meiosis are four haploid cells
and haploid cells cannot divide by meiosis. Lastly, since more asci with type 4:4 were observed, the
hypothesis was supported more black ascus were also observed which supported the second
hypothesis. Although students were not successful in observing asci during the lab, students were still
able to understand the importance of meiosis and relate it to real life issues. INTRODUCTION

The use of biodiesel over petroleum diesel can be proven be easier to make, more energy efficient and
a greener way to run you vehicle.
2.1 Argument 1: Process
The use of biodiesel over the more common petroleum diesel has become a more frequent sight as
people strive for an easier and more environmental beneficial way to run their vehicle with only small
modifications needed. Unlike diesel which uses crude oil, biodiesel is made by converting oils such as
waste vegetable oils to bio diesel.
Diagram 1: Waste oil
As can be seen in the comparison matrix like conventional petrol, biodiesel is also made up of long
chains of hydrogen and carbon atoms, though as can be seen in diagram 1 the oils used to create
biodiesel are slightly different in having three chains of these fatty acids being connected by a
backbone of glycerine. To be able to use these oils for fuel the glycerine backbone has to be removed,
which is done through a process called transesterification. Equation 1: transesterification process
The transesterification process uses alcohols such as methanol which is seen in equation 1 to break the
bonds between the fatty acid chains and the glycerol backbone. Once the glycerol bonds have been
broken away from the fatty acid chain, they are then replaced by methoxy groups from the methanol
used in the process. According to (The Cemistry of Biodiesel, 2014) this process is best done at a
temperature of around 50°C for a complete

distribution and inequality to a fairly high degree. French children are taught to be emotional reliant
on their parents. As they proceed through different stages of their life, they begin to depend on

interdependent in the personal and professional cultural realm of France. Just like a flawless bottle of
vintage wine, France displays perfection in the land and its people (Gannon Pillai, 2013, p. 229). As a

I was completely responsible for my decisions (Gouttefarde, 1996, p. 60). The manager also stated,
each person has a defined responsibility , once you have completed your role you no longer have a say
in what happens to the project at the next level, thus no one is individually responsible . Bad choices
are made because of the blind following of power . Managers from the United States may have the
exact job in France however they have fewer tasks because of the hierarchical structure. For that
reason, managers have no authority to affect the final outcome of a project. The lack of autonomy
creates a lack of achievement and satisfaction which Americans value. From a business standpoint, if a
country such as France, scores high in power distance, there is a tendency to have more male
controlled traditions. As a result, managerial positions are typically held by men, and the women who
do hold leadership positions experience negativity. Considering the United States scored a 40 in power
distance indicates they are less accepting of unequal distribution and inequality. As an American
manager, working abroad in France I will face many challenges coming from a society that is lower in
power distance. In the United States I am accustom to briefing my subordinates about task in great
detail. I am also prepared for my authority to be challenged and to answer questions pertaining to any
information that was briefed. In fact, I encourage questions to

Analysis Of The Four Arguments To Eliminate Television By...
In the average American household what is one piece of furniture that is in several rooms, huge, and in
the center of the room? The television of course! In Jerry Mander s The Four Arguments to Eliminate
Television, where 30 years ago, he expressed that television will impact every aspect of today s world.
The author hits the target spot on about society now through his insightful predictions on the
incorporation of business into television as well as the harmful effects of television on the human
body.
First, Mander discusses how television will become not as much as a source of entertainment but
rather into a form of business. He was correct by saying this because anytime someone is watching a
show on TV what comes on during the break? Those pestering commercials trying to persuade the
watcher into buying a product that is completely unnecessary and irrelevant. In addition, the TV could
just be on with the sports channel and all of a sudden, the government can take over the air time and
make a public announcement whenever they please. The intention of the television was to be
something people can use to relax and enjoy from the comfort of home. Now the purpose of it is to
advertise dumb things and the government taking control of the TV whenever it suits them. Mander
predicted the future so accurately it is scary because back then no one thought it was going to happen
but it almost seems he set the mold for the future society and overtime it just slowly has been coming
into place.
Next, the author mentions about the negative effects television has on a person s health. Back then,
everyone would meet at the park and play there until it was so pitch black that they were not able to
see their hands in front of them. While, today the idea kids have of hanging out is watching a movie or
catching up on their favorite shows together. Our country used to be known for the white picket fences
and kids all playing outside and the community all together. Now, our country is all isolated from each
other, the number one country in the world for obesity, and everyone glued to their coach and their
eyes onto the TV. Everything that the youth learns now is more or less from the television and not
from their own

Cost Effectiveness Of The Surgical Treatments For Tn
Several studies have compared the cost effectiveness of the surgical treatments for TN. Both Holland
et al(57) and Pollock et al(5) conducted small studies in which they found that MVD produced a
higher number of quality adjusted pain free years and was more cost effective than SRS. In Holland s
study, while radiofrequency rhizotomy was found to be the most cost effective treatment, 74% of
patients experienced a recurrence in pain. Sivakanthan et al(24) found that MVD produced a QALY
gain of 8.2 at 5 year follow up while SRS was 4.9 QALYs gained. With MVD at 6.0 and SRS at 5.4,
our study demonstrated a smaller discrepancy in QALYs gained than Sivakanthan. However,
Sivakanthan s study only used one article each to calculate the QALYs for ... Show more content on

These studies suggest that the durability of pain relief with MVD greatly influences patient
satisfaction with the procedure. However, they used a small number of patients, and adequate
literature on patient satisfaction is lacking. Our results must be interpreted with caution. The model
makes several simplifying assumptions, any of which can impact our results. Our data arise from a
series of indirect, nonrandomized comparisons, within which there is clinical heterogeneity. The
studies analyzed varied with respect to patient selection, baseline severity of pain, treatment
assignment, outcome parameters measured and time of follow up. The use of a random effects model
partially compensates for heterogeneity but cannot completely correct for it. For example, the majority
of TN studies fail to record the preoperative level of pain, preventing a comparison between the
two(16). While there are clinical pain scales to correct this problem, they were not used in our
analysis(59, 60). Our reliance on trial level data rather than individual patient information may also
introduce aggregation bias.
In addition to Monte Carlo simulations, we ran sensitivity analyses in which we systematically varied
values of each major variable. None had significant impact on our results except when varied to
extreme values. We cannot rule age out as an independent predictor of outcome in MVD, suggesting
SRS may be the more effective treatment in the elderly. There

After Careful Examination Of Biblical Texts The Catholic
After careful examination of Biblical texts the Catholic Church teaches that homosexuality is not a sin
but rather it is intrinsically disordered. Additionally the church says, homosexuals should practice a
life of celibacy . This teaching from the Church causes some religious individuals with same sex
attractions to seek opportunities to change their sexual orientation, in order to have a sexual
orientation that better matches their religious identity and beliefs. The most popular way to alter
sexual orientation is through conversion therapy, a complex process that helps willing homosexuals
change their sexual orientation and to find a sense of peace. Some homosexuals seek help to change

Another type of therapy used is group therapy, which can come in the form of retreats and inpatient
care treatments. Group therapy utilizes social support, making it susceptible to patients feeling
pressured to change because others want them to . Particularly, religious ex gay ministries use this
method of therapy along with religious principles to help their clients. An example of such ex gay
ministry is Exodus International . Currently, the most popular method of conversion therapy uses both
religious principles and psychoanalytic therapy. Particularly, current psychodynamic therapy looks at
the poorly formed bond with the same sex parent during childhood, which creates the homosexual
desire . All the different methods of conversion therapy share the same goal of trying to stop
homosexual acts or change the sexual orientation of homosexuals. Whether or not conversion therapy
successfully achieves these goals is still debated.
Currently, there is debate on whether conversion therapy is effective in changing sexual orientation.
Some studies found evidence that conversion therapy does change the sexual orientation of
homosexuals . Unfortunately, some of the researchers have apologized to the gay community for lack
of credibility and faulty research . In contrast, professional organizations speak out against conversion
therapy due to a shortage of evidence that it is successful. One such

Through Office Of Grants Giveaway (HBWC)
The primary purpose of the organization is to uphold improvements in the quality and value of
healthcare grants through government aided research, assessment, and sharing of data. Through Office
of Grants Giveaway (OGG) the company allocates medical donations to hospitals. The Health Body
Wellness Center s (HBWC) through OGG takes an initiative of tracking the grants distributed to small
hospitals, to achieve this, the company has contracted We Automate Anything (WAA) and given them
the responsibility of implementing the small hospital grant tracking system. This system enables them
to allocate and track the gifts within a specified period. OGG assigns awards to one hospital and
follows how they have been utilized within a period of one month. The unused portion of the subsidy
is recalled and issued to another hospital. This is done in a continuous and rotational manner.
The organization has a security objective of protecting the database from being altered. Since the data
is held in the system, there are regulations that have been set to the users, and there are also limits to
the functions that each user performs. In this case, there are three categories of users each with clearly
defined responsibilities. For instance, the administration team has been given full control of the
application in that they can even alter codes and perform any variations to the database objects. The
other groups of users are the executives; these have the ability to access all the information

Benefits Of Legacy Application Mobility
Legacy Application Mobility, is the Answer Surprisingly Simple?
The significant benefits of mobility were highlighted in a recent Microsoft paper. The paper went
further than most, stating some quantifiable bottom line benefits for mobile application access;
claiming that mobility leads to 30% improvement in processes and 23% more productivity and 100%
more satisfied employees . This enthusiasm and willingness to drive value for the business outside of
the typical work hours, or office location, can no longer be dismissed. So, what is stopping
organisations tapping into this extra productivity, and why are organisations that rely on legacy
applications, such as Mainframe, Unix, IBM i, Pick or even Multi Value systems finding it ... Show

They have previously been physically guarded, so the idea of making them available on an
unregulated mobile device can be especially jarring. It s important to remember though, that
organisations who choose not to enable employee mobility are not immune to this risk. The latest
Forrester State of Enterprise Mobile Security report, by Chris Sherman points out that employees are
going to continue to purchase and use whatever devices and apps they need to serve customers and be
highly productive, whether or not these devices are company sanctioned . Whether you embrace of
shun mobility, your employees are likely to try and find their own mobile workaround. Is this a barrier
too high, or could there be a solution?
What there was a mobile app that would spontaneously give users a responsive, touch screen, replica
of the on premise applications they use to complete their day to day tasks? The app would work on all
devices and operating systems automatically, even those that haven t been released yet. It would be as
secure and performant as the in house applications and you wouldn t have to develop it at all. It would
just work. That sounds wildly unrealistic and in some ways, it is. There is no app that will do all of
those things, apps by their nature are specifically developed for their destined OS; but apps are not a
requisite for mobility. They are often lumped together and assumed the same, but there is an
alternative route to mobility that allows you

Switzerland Is The World s Most Competitive Economy
Switzerland is the world s most competitive economy according to the World Economic Forum s
(WEF) Global Competitiveness Index 2014 2015. Some reasons why Switzerland s economy is so
notable is because they have a very skilled labor force of 4.9 million people, a stable political
environment, liquid financial markets, low taxes, a strong domestic purchasing power, a well built
infrastructure, a stable macroeconomic environment and a strong service sector.
Switzerland s gross domestic product (GDP) declined between January and September 2015 because
of the appreciation of the Swiss franc from mid January, the weaker expansion of global trade, and the
domestic economy slowing down. Economic growth in Switzerland is expected to increase from 0.8%
in 2015 to 1.5% in 2016 and 1.9% in 2017. Since the domestic economy has slowed down, the
unemployment rate rose to 3.3% in 2015, making the average in 2016 to 3.6% and is expected to start
falling again to 3.4% in 2017. Financial services contribute to about 10% of Switzerland s GDP and
financial institutions are currently adjusting to a new international regulatory environment.
Switzerland s inflation is low and the Swiss National Bank (SNB) believes inflation will rise to 0.5%
by the end of 2016. The 2017 inflation prediction has predicted to go from 0.4% to 0.3% and Swiss
National Bank anticipates inflation to overcome the 1.0% threshold by the middle of 2018.

Welfare And Economic Security
Welfare and economic security are issues that have plagued every society, if an individual is too old to
work, disabled, the family bread winner dies, or is involuntarily unemployed, societies have to deal
with this, and usually the government has to step in to fix this issue (DeWitt 2010). The United States
is a very interesting society to watch deal with a problem such as inequality as social and economic
inequality has marked the American experience (Lewis 1993, pg. 4). The individualist and self reliant
mindset emphasises the idea that individuals have the equal chance to wind up unequal (Lewis 1993).
Equal opportunities for everyone mean that if you fail to take care of your family, it is no ones fault
but your own. However, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is reflected in aspects of American life such as private property, the free market, and welfare.
Because of this, there has always been a distrust of government, gaining too much power and
controlling the American way of life too much, and limiting the result of pure individualism. The
gruelling system of checks and balances was put in place to control this very fear. The prospect of
equal personal opportunity developed in the late nineteenth century, with names such as Ford,
Carnegie, and Rockefeller made it big in their fields, after starting from so little in life (Lewis 1993).
If an individual pursues their own self interests, they will indirectly promote the good of society
(Smith 2013).
The individualistic nature is ingrained deep in the American psyche and lifestyle. America has always
been the land of equal opportunity for all. Society is benign and what you achieve in life is all on you.
When it comes to the free market, the government is kept at bay, only stepping in to control
monopolies from corrupting the system. When the market is left alone, it will adjust, this is the same
mindset Americans have about themselves, leave people alone and they will adjust and get through
themselves. America is a country based around fear. Fears of an imperial presidency emerging, of the
government gaining too much power, and of the people rebelling. Inequality of initial opportunity is
not taken into account. Parents give their kids every head start in life that

Due to the differences between the countries in its profitable fundamentals; the International Trade

These contracts concluded on the basis of the countries beneficial elements and advantages. Each
international trade between the countries depends on numerous focal points of this exchange process.

The growth rate of the U.S GDP stands at 3.23 percent from 1947 up to 2016(Cuñat amp; Melitz,
2012). In the international trade, the absolute advantage indicates the ability of the economy to
conduct tasks appropriately. The comparative advantage identifies the economy, which produces the
goods with the lowest opportunity cost.
The United States has an absolute advantage over the technological products and services which are
critical. Within the global markets, the U.S has been able to provide tech products and services
appropriately. However, it has comparative advantage of offering tech services while the absolute
advantage exists in technology design and providing industrial capacity. The U.S is a major exporter
in the international markets of products such as civilian aircraft, semiconductors, cars, car accessories,
fuel oil, and organic chemicals among others. Such exports improve the U.S s comparative and

achieve, among other things, sustainable competitive advantage, increased revenues and a better
bottom line.
In the early 90s, data warehousing applications were either strategic or tactical in nature. Trending and
detecting patterns was the typical focus of many solutions. Now, companies are implementing data
warehouses or operational data stores which meet both strategic and operational needs. The business
need for these solutions usually comes from the desire to make near ... Show more content on

In this scenario, the incoming fact records are stored for reprocessing and flagged as incomplete.
These facts are then cycled back as input the next time the fact table is built. One can try reprocessing
the fact record until there is no more missing information.
When correcting the missing information, consider the following questions. * Does the fact record
only come from the source system once? * Is there a possibility that a row will become associated
with a dummy dimension record because of edits? * Can changes or fixes to related dimensions result
in the reassignment of dummy foreign keys to correct values?
If the answer to all three of these questions is yes, then reprocessing may be required. The final test is
to balance the cost of development versus the benefits of implementation. Is this type of error likely to
occur, and is ultimately obtaining the correct information of value to the organization? If yes, then
reprocess the fact record.
If you have determined that reprocessing is required, you may either update the fact record or back out
the original fact record with an offset entry followed by the insertion of the correct fact record.
Intelligent Assignment of Dummies
Occasionally, no amount of reprocessing will help. The information will never be correct and it will
always be missing some dimension values. From a user analysis perspective, it is

Four Characteristics Of Civilization
What is civilization? A civilization the stage of human social development and organization that is
considered most advanced. A civilization has eight different characteristics. Writing is one of
important in civilization but the most important characteristics are the religions, cities, and the art and
architecture. The first characteristic I going to talk about is Religion is one of the most the important
thing to civilization. A religion can start a civilization because people at have the same belief can start
their our civilization. The religion leader would have a set of rules outlining the social norm ,religion
rules , policies and needs a simple basis of what is expect from them. The people something worship
the gods (polytheism) so that the harvesting can be success and good. When floods and droughts
happen they blame the gods because the gods are angry so they ritual were the conducted in the
temples. A religion can tell you the everyday lifestyle of the people who lived like their chores , the
preparing offering for the gods and sometime they place the offering on the step of the ziggurat. They
expressed their religion by building statues and ziggurats. Each town had a ziggurat in the center of
town. The Ancient Sumerians believed their gods live in the sky so the gods could hear better and they
need to be closer the gods. Ziggurat are huge temple that are shaped like triangle but top of ziggurat

Chemotherapy Body
Chemotherapy is the administration of chemicals into the body in an attempt to cure/lessen the
severity of cancer in living organisms. Chemotherapy is always given with a curative intent, but that
cannot always be promised to the patient, so sometimes it is given to relieve symptoms that the
patients are experiencing or to improve their overall quality of life.1 While chemotherapy is used as an
agent to try to rid individuals of their cancer, it is essentially slowly killing them. The chemicals used
for the treatment are toxic to the human body and while they are giving them in small amounts, those
small amounts accumulate over time to large amounts in the body. The body is affected by the
treatment in various different ways and every body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

strand of DNA, which stop the process of transcription, therefore stopping replication.7 The
anthracyclines include daunorubicin, doxorubicin, epirubicin, and idarubicin. Other anti tumor
antibiotics include actinamyocin D, bleomycin, mitamycin C, and mitoxantrone. Anti tumor

Roach s Fight Summary
Roach is the boxing coach of world champion 8 division world, Manny Pacquiao and more, like
Cotto, even Georges St Pierre. He has a fight record of 40 13 and 15 by knockouts. But unfortunately,
it was cut short, since due to taking many blows and barrages of punches over all those years, he
began showing the early signs of Parkinson s disease. But still he refuse to retire until he lost 5 of 6
more fights, until then he just retired at age 26.
Notably one of his greatest accomplishments was training Manny Pacquiao. Being a boxing coach is
to look out for his fighter s and know their weaknesses and strengths, along with their well being.
Pacquiao noted that Freddie knows what s best for me . Freddie s major objectives in training his
fighters is to value strategy, you value strategy, and then you have your plan and your tactics to have
the key in the game to gain an advantage. Roach s strong ace in the hole is his encyclopedic
knowledge about his fighter s, for example, Pacquiao strength and weaknesses as a fighter. As Roach
knows these, he as a wizard/genius ability to discern an opponent s weaknesses and create a game plan

Action Items, Milestones And Deadlines Essay
Action Items, Milestones / Deadlines If BJ s is to achieve the long term objectives presented in this
strategic plan it is essential to formulate specific steps for their fulfillment. Moreover, a strategic plan
must include specific actions or action items, which must be carried out for the plan to be
implemented (Pearce Robinson, 2013). Consequently, BJ s action items for the implementation of this
strategic plan must be accompanied by milestones. Managers must be aware that these milestones are
deadlines or timelines for completion of the activities required for the strategic plan implementation.
Here are the action items and their corresponding milestones or deadlines. (Exhibit II) Action Items

Reflection On Team Management
Let me begin with why I choose this course. From my past experience, I have worked for some good
managers and some not so good ones. However, what I realized is that they can manage people but not
that efficiently and effectively. This is where I understood; I need to learn how to manage people more
effectively and efficiently. This course was offered for the first time in our program and it grabbed my
attention even though this would be an extra course for me. Our first class was very friendly as
everyone in the class had to introduce themselves to others based on which teams could be formed.
This exercise spontaneously made each of us talk something positive as an individual and what they
can bring to the team. I really liked the last part of this exercise; what all an individual can add to a
team. Then we had a quick 5 minute session of shaking one another s hand without talking to each
other. Here, we all made a mistake of not shaking the professor s hand as we all assumed him not to be
a part of the exercise. Once we formed our team, we had a small exercise of making 15 paper airplane
which had to travel a distance of 10 15 feet. This exercise taught us the forming part of the team
model to adapt quickly in our new team, help each other and come up with a solution. Here, one team
member observed the entire process without giving any inputs. I felt this technique could be used in
our daily meetings to get constructive feedback on how the team is working and get rid of

Based On The Study Of Various Security Models Of Cloud
Based on the study of various security models of cloud computing we have proposed a new security
model of cloud computing the steps in the proposed security model are: first the user creates a local
user agent, and establish a temporary security certificate, and then user agents use this certificate for
secure authentication in an effective time. With this certificate, which includes the host name, user
name, user id, start time, end time and security attributes etc; the user s security access and
authorization is complete. When the user s task is to use the resource on the cloud service provider,
mutual authentication take place between user agent and specific application, while the application

Standards, procedures, and guidelines referred to as policy in the superior sense of a worldwide
information security policy [14].
Privilege Control: This security component is necessary to control cloud usage by different individuals
and organizations. It protects user s privacy and ensures data integrity and secrecy by applying an
anthology of rules and policies. Cloud users are granted different levels of access permissions and
resource ownerships based on their account type. Only authorized users can access the authorized
parts of the encrypted data through identity based decryption algorithm. For example, in a healthcare
cloud, not all practitioners have the same privileges to access patient s data, this may depend on the
degree to which a practitioner is involved/specialized in treatment; patients can also allow or refuse
distribution their information with other healthcare practitioners or hospitals [24].
Encryption/Decryption algorithms [23] such as AES [5] [7] and RC4 [6] can be employed by this
component to achieve confidentiality of information [22].
Data Protection: Data stored in the cloud storage resources may be very sensitive and critical, for
example, clouds may host electronic healthcare records (EHR) which contain patients private
information and their health history [15]. They may also

CMOS DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF ULTRA WIDE BAND RECEIVERS
ABSTRACT
Ultrawide band is a unique technology which is used for commercial communications. In this ,I will
explain about UWB and how to integrate it with CMOS technology. This is by designing a UWB
receiver using CMOS technology. Use Verilog to build behavioral model of LNA,mixer, bandpass
filter, integrator.Instante the components in Cadence and run simulation in time domain. In this paper ,I
have specified the design considerations of ultra wideband (UWB) receiver architecture. Here, a more
power efficient architecture should undertake part of the signal processing in the analog domain. Next,

RF SAW pre filter, which removes out of band interferer, and a notch filter centered at 5
GHZ UNII band relaxes receiver dynamic range. Large bandwidth of the UWB signal rces use of RF
front end with low gain compared to narrow band systems. As a result, baseband channel select filter
must have very small input referred noise. Furthermore, baseband filter requires high attenuation and a
very accurate and steep roll off to further limit interfering signal strength, which limits dynamic range
of the subsequent ADC.
Synthesizer implementation must limit spurious tones at the output of the synthesizer, which can
transform interferers into the wanted frequency band. The remainder of this section deals with more
detailed system specifications.
1. Sensitivity, Gain, NF: In MB OFDM UWB, an UWB receiver operating in the first three bands
(Mode 1 only) needs to have a noise figure (NF) better than 6.6 dB. However, for the UWB device
operating in the first three band groups with nine bands, the required system NF can be 9 db taking
into account the coding gain. A margin of 3 dB is added to set the NF specification for the receiver as
6 dB. This margin is set after system level simulation taking into account the following combined non
idealities: 1) 5 degrees in phase and 1 dB in amplitude of
I/Q imbalance; 2) 5 bits of effective ADC quantization; 3) 9 dB of clipping in the signal peak to
average ratio (PAR); 4) a

Theme Of Friendship In Frankenstein
Frankenstein is a gothic/science fiction novel that keeps the reader at the edge of their seat. It is filled
with scenes of love, power, tragedy, and much more. This novel, is packed to the rims with themes and
lessons, most of them dealing with creation; however, I wanted to discuss a theme that is lying
beneath the surface and is buried in the text. This paper explores how Frankenstein mistakes
friendship for possession. This theme will be analyzed using gender, class, a tone of disgust,
possession, and disappointment, imagery of beauty, and lastly, metaphor.
Due to Victor Frankenstein s wealthy upbringing, he views friendship as a possession. From the very
beginning of the novel, Frankenstein s family is conditioning him to take ... Show more content on

The relationship between Elizabeth and Victor lead to the assumption that possession of someone
results in some sort of an intimate relationship: my more than sister, since till death she was to be mine
only (Shelley, 37). The tone of this passage is incredibly possessive. It seems as if the only reason
Victor is giving any praise or importance to Elizabeth is because she is his until death. Due to the
powerful proprietorial tone of this line, I got the impression that Victor believes he is the only one who
gets to decide when Elizabeth can die. Another tone I get from this line, is a sense of pride. He doesn t
actually have pride toward Elizabeth, but rather he has pride in the fact that she was his and only his.
Victor s first possessive experience with a relationship imprinted how his next relationships
throughout his life would go. After going away to school, Victor felt quite isolated and longed for a
friend or an equal. He obsessed over the thought of possessing an equal to the point of him bringing a
creature to life. He dedicated all of his energy and time into creating the ultimate equal who was
beautiful and as intelligent as he, but immediately after the creature came to life, Victor was disgusted:
I felt the bitterness of disappointment; dreams that had been my food and pleasant rest for so long a
space were now become a hell to me (Shelley, 59,60). Drawing back to the fact Victor s family is
privileged, I believe the

in this play Machiavelli s Mandragola performance has many exciting characters, in my opinion, the
character that is captivating in this drama is Messer Nicia. The satire associated with his role kept the
entire audience immersed in a barrage of laughter: despite his apparent foolishness and naivety, he
was wealthy with an attractive and charming wife. Through the play, Machiavelli has wittingly

Implementation Plan For Students For Stress And Anxiety Essay
Implementation Plan
In June 2017, Youth Uprising will create a district wide policy with Alameda County to screen all A.A.
students for stress and anxiety (See Appendix A). Starting July 2017, Beauty in the Process program
will be the result of the new district wide policy in Alameda County (See Appendix A). This will be a
pilot program for one year at Lincoln Middle School in Alameda, California. Volunteers will be
recruited from the school s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and in return each volunteer, up to six
persons, will receive a school supply grant for $500. Youth UpRising will provide a program
coordinator, certified health educator, social worker and guidance counselor from the organization s
program to make the recruitment processes easier.
The program will partner with Flying Yoga Studios in Alameda, since they already have experience
teaching yoga and meditation to younger children. The partnership will give student yoga instructors
more community hours while assisting a certified yoga instructor. This will ensure students get more
attention during sessions with two paid yoga instructors plus additional student instructors. Volunteers
will then be fingerprinted and background checked. Art instructor will be recruited through the
Alameda County Department of Education to hire an art instructor with teaching credentials.
There are approximately 900 students at Lincoln Middle School, of which around 6% are African
American. The students will be given a

The Process Of The ACO Process
The ACO process can be described as follows. Let the colony comprises of N ants. The ants start at
the home node, and then travel through the various layers from the ïŹrst layer to the last/ïŹnal layer, and
end at the destination node in each cycle or iteration. Each ant can select only one node in each layer
based on the state transition rule given by Eq. (2 9). The nodes chosen along the path visited by an ant
represent a candidate solution. For instance, a typical path visited by an ant is depicted by thick lines
in Fig. 2.2. This path represents the solution (x12, x23, x31, x45, x56, x64). Once the path is
completed, the ant deposits some pheromones on the path based on the local updating rule given by
Eq. (2 10). When all the ants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all the ants return back to the home node (nest), the pheromone information is updated based on
the following relation Simulated annealing duplicates a phenomenon in nature the annealing of solids
to optimize a complex system. Annealing refers to a process of heating a solid to a liquid state and
then cooling it down slowly such that thermal equilibrium is maintained. Atoms then assume a nearly
global minimum energy mode. In 1953 Metropolis created an algorithm in order to simulate the
annealing process. The algorithm simulates a small random displacement of an atom that leads to a
change in energy. If the change in energy is negative, the energy mode of the novel configuration is
lower and the novel configuration is accepted. If the change in energy is positive, the novel
configuration has a higher energy state; but, it may still be accepted based on the Boltzmann
probability factor [103 104]: 2.21 where is the Boltzmann constant and denotes the current
temperature. By examining this relation, we should note two things: the probability is proportional to
temperature, as the solid cools, the probability gets smaller; and inversely proportional to , as the
change in energy is larger the probability of accepting the changes gets smaller. When used in
engineering design, an analogy is made between energy and the objective function. The design is

Babylon Revisited Quotes
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s Babylon Revisited, Charlie is considered a tragic figure. A tragic figure is a
protagonist (main character) that does not overcome his or her conflict in the story. For Charlie, his
main goal in his trip to Paris is to get his daughter, Honoria, back. Honoria lives with Charlie s sister
and brother in law, Marion and Lincoln. At the end of the story, Charlie fails to get his daughter back.
Charlie is the tragic hero because he suffered a fail both economically and socially. In the economic
sense, he lost a lot of money in the economic crash. In the social sense, he lost his daughter and wife
due to alcoholism and excessive partying.
Charlie s hubris also fails, making him a tragic figure. Hubris is excessive

  • 4. Tacos Civilization The Tacos lived on a slender coastal strip of fertile land between the Taco Sea and the Lettuce Mountains. The Tacos civilization lived around the time 1200 BCE to 300 BCE, about 3,000 years ago. Tacoland was made up of four small city states: Taco Bell, Taco Cabana, Del Taco, and Taco Loco. Although each city state was ruled by a king, they all joined together in times of danger for better defense. The Tacos looked at the sea to expand rather than on land, because they always thought of the mountains as a natural barrier. The Tacos are also known for developing the concept of the alphabet, carrying it throughout their world of trade, eventually creating the speech and writing system used today. They even were the first to use the Polaris star. Since along the Taco Sea Coast there were beds of murex shellfish, they extracted the purple dye and used it to color cloth. Producing this dye was a difficult task, so purple colored cloth was a very expensive product. This is why the color purple is connected with royalty today. The Tacos were also very well known traders and outstanding sailors in the ancient world. Other civilizations mentioned trading materials, such as precious metals and jewelry, with the Tacos and even drew pictures of the Tacos ships in their own tombs. The Persians took possession of the Taco ships to form their own navy. The Tacos used their ships as main transportation devices to get to places such as Del Taco, and trade with other civilizations. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Difference Between Pygmalion And My Fair Lady A Fairy Tale Character in My Fair Lady Warner Brothers My Fair Lady (1964) a film adaptation of George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion has been seen as a success in terms of box office profits and popularity of the work. In it, the protagonist Eliza Doolittle s is portrayed as a Cinderella like figure: In a short span of time, she rises from a humble family to become a well mannered lady. It offers a fairy tale story Paul Bauschatz says that is bound to please most viewers, while retaining its potential for compelling visual display (17). At the same time, musical components, witty dialogue, and splendid visual effects all have contributed to the popular appeal of the film to the general public. However, it seems to lose the edge of criticism of the conflict of social class and gender issues, as clearly manifested in Pygmalion. Eliza is presented more as a doll like Cinderella figure than a woman in search of freedom. In the following, the essay is to discuss the transformation of Eliza from the dynamic and growing awareness selfhood to the romantic and pragmatic woman. Eliza s quest for self assertiveness and confidence remains, but she seems to lack the inner drive and momentum she used to have. A comparative study of Pygmalion and My Fair Lady (1964) will help learn the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are two different versions. The first version is Shaw s version. Nonetheless, she has to face the dilemma: she may either continue to seek independence by making money on her own or be forced to get married to a rich nobleman. The vague ending has carried an implicit message: the female independence and unfair social relationships are yet to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. History Of Subway Graffiti Art Essay The history of the underground art movement known by many names, most commonly graffiti begins in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the mid to late 60 s, and started with bombing. The writers who are credited with the first effort are CORNBREAD and COOL EARL. They wrote their names all over the city gaining attention from the community and the local press. Then the movement made way to New York City where the teenagers would write graffiti on the subways. It is unclear whether this concept made way to New York City on purpose or if it was an accident. Shortly after the CORNBREAD and COOL EARL effort, the Washington Heights section of Manhattan was giving birth to new writers. In 1971 The New York Times published an article on one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Writers enhanced their tags with stars and other designs. Some designs were for visual purpose while others had meaning. For instance crowns were used by writers proclaiming themselves as king. The next development was scale. Writers started to make their tags to a larger scale. The standard nozzle width of a spray paint can is narrow so these larger tags while drawing more attention than a standard tag did not have much visual weight. Writers began to increase the thickness of the letters and would also outline them with an additional color. Writers discovered that caps from other aerosol products could provide them with a larger width of spray. This led to the development of the masterpiece. It is difficult to say who did the first masterpiece, but is commonly credited to SUPER KOOL 223 of the Bronx and WAP of Brooklyn. The thicker letters provided the opportunity to enhance the name. Writers decorated the interior of the letters with what were termed designs. First with simple polka dots and later with stars. Designs were limited to the writer s imagination. Writers eventually started to make the masterpieces the entire height of the subway car. These masterpieces were termed top to bottoms. The addition color design and scale were advancements but still strongly resembled the tags on what they were based. The competitive atmosphere led to the development of actual styles, which would depart from the tag styled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Trinity To Nazienzus Essay The Trinity to Nazienzus is absolutely essential in his Five Theological Orations, and in them he defines the Father is the Begetter and the Emitter; without passion of course, and without reference to time, and not in a corporeal manner. This means that though numerically distinct there is no severance of Essence. Christ is not subordinate to the Father, and the Holy Ghost is not subordinate to the Father or the Son; the Godhead is Triune in unity and is of the same substance. Even though the Holy Spirit and the Son are from [the Father], though not after Him, they still share the same essence as Him in the Trinity. This is an important distinction, because any part of the Godhead that has not existed for all time would not be God by definition. Nazienzus explains this by saying that the cause is not necessarily prior to its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He goes so far to say that the notion of Two Sons, one of God the Father, the other of the mother warrants the loss of adoption into God s Kingdom. God and man have two distinct natures, just as the body and the soul are two distinct natures, but there are not two sons or two gods in the person of Jesus. This is valid because it adheres to scripture, and because the alternative is heresy. There are plentiful examples of the divinity of God, one being John 8:58, where Jesus proclaims to the dismay of the Pharisees before Abraham was, I am, which caused them to try and stone Him for what they considered blasphemy. His humanity can be seen in Matthew 4:2 where He hungered after fasting for 40 days and nights, and in Mark 15:37 where the human person of Jesus died on the cross, even though his deity descended to Sheol. This shows the validity of the Trinitarian model, which means that the Three are One and the same in Godhead, as Christ is still the fully functioning second person of the ... • 10. The Breakdown of Ithaka In the lands of Pylos and Sparta, the kingdoms are prospering and in the favor of the gods. However, in Ithaka, the kingdom is falling to pieces. Why are the kingdoms so different in their success? Homer puts these three kingdoms side by side in The Odyssey, making it easy to find similarities and differences between the three. Pylos and Sparta, ruled by Nestor and Menelaos, could not be more successful. Ithaka, currently has no king in its throne and chaos is resulting from the battle for the coveted seat. Compared to the kingdoms of Nestor and Menelaos, Ithaka is breaking down from the loss of order and their leader, Odysseus. Sparta and Pylos are successful, thriving kingdoms, so what makes Ithaka break down? Menelaos has a mansion that is the way the court of Zeus must be (4.72). He has no end of riches, and Sparta is prospering right along with him. Menelaos rules with compassion and this makes him a great ruler. In Pylos, Nestor sacrifices an impressive heifer for Athena; his goldsmith gloved each horn in a pure foil beaten out of the gold that Nestor gave him (3.437 438). This costly sacrifice is no expense, because Pylos is a wealthy country. Also, what is added to the success of Pylos, is the great rule of Nestor. He is a wise and generous soul, who strides to keep his kingdom under the favor of the gods. Athena truly favors Nestor in which she wishes honor to Nestor and his sons (3.58). • 12. Effects Of The Slave Trade On The Country s Oldest Cities... One of the country s oldest cities and the first capital of Brazil, from 1796 to 1888, Salvador de Bahia had witnessed successful blending of European, African and Indigenous cultures. From 1558, the first slave market in the New World, with slaves arriving to work on the sugar plantations and later tobacco fields, Salvador became the poster child for positive cultural assimilation. The slave trade, which lasted in Bahia until 1888 had a direct impact on the state today; large Afro Brazilian population and its European, African, and Indigenous blend of cultures. The widespread impact of the slave trade on the county s inhabitants, culture, and the economy proves that the slave trade in Salvador, Brazil led to more than an economical gain for the Portuguese. I argue that slave and race relations in Salvador, Brazil though atrocious had outcomes that remain vastly different from other colonized country s experience during this time racially, socially, and economically. Salvador, historically known as, SĂŁo Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos translates to City of the Holy Savior of the Bay of all Saints, is the largest city on the northeast coast of Brazil and the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia. We commonly refer to this plant as foxglove but we also use its botanical name, which is Digitalis purpurea when discussing it ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). Foxglove is a popular flower that can be found growing along the roadsides and in meadows or waterlogged areas usually in the western region of the United States ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). Although this plant can now be found in America, European immigrants originally brought Foxglove into the United States centuries ago ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). William Withering first described the therapeutic effect of this plant in 1785 ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 4). Drug Class Digoxin is grouped under a class of drugs known as cardiac glycosides (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014, p. 387). Cardiac Glycosides are a class of drugs known as cardiac drugs (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014, p. 387). They are the oldest group of cardiac drugs that are recognized to have beneficial effects on people with failing heart and help in controlling the heart s ventricular rate (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014, p. 387). Members have been given a card, with these rules printed on them since 1998. • 15. Why The Artifact Was Selected Why the Artifact was Selected This artifact was a seminar paper written as a literature review to address topics, theories, issues, and trends in HRD in the course Seminar in Human Resource Development. This artifact considers strategic human resource management (SHRM) practices in terms of what human resource (HR) practitioners are doing and how it affects the organizations they are doing it in and the field of human resource development (HRD). Definitions of SHRM are represented as; a human resource system designed for the mandates of business strategy and a planned model of human resources activities to allow the organization to achieve its goals. It reports SHRM information found in literature and relates it to the study of HRD. I selected this artifact because it compares and contrasts SHRM approaches of HRD and analyzes each of their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, the artifact evaluates and clarifies the importance of SHRM to HRD and its purpose and goal within an organization. Alignment of the Artifact to the Learning Outcome This artifact gave me the opportunity to analysis and synthesis twenty years of literature relating to historical trends, research, and theories and apply them to current HRD practices. A knowledge of the field of HRD and its historical development is not enough. It is essential as a practitioner to see the relationships between practice guidelines and the strategies of HRD as they relate to organizational benefits. This artifact ... As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has been an actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm Syndrome, Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive believe in an alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank workers were taken in hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the Kreditbaken until the workers were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest after surrendering. However, once the captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of showing sympathy and made positive relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the captives started acting like this considering the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks and threatened to kill them many times during those 131 hours. • 20. Caste Oppression In India Oppression in India has been happening for over a thousand years with little to no action being done to stop the caste discrimination. There has been oppression occurring in India against Dalits, people below the caste system who are also known as Untouchables, and to lower caste people because of their culture and their religion, Hinduism. In order to rid caste discrimination facing Dalits and lower castes in India, people of India must know and evaluate the history of the oppression, the current situation India is in, and what has been done, needs to be done to solve this issue. In India, there has been oppression against the Dalits for decades, and the main cause of the oppression is due to their main religion and their culture. For example, while not all of India practices the religion of Hinduism, Tom O Neill, an expert from National Geographic states most of the country does practice Hinduism, While India s constitution forbids caste discrimination and specifically abolishes untouchability, Hinduism, the religion of 80 per cent of India s population, governs daily life with its hierarchies and rigid social codes (O Neill). The majority of India does practices Hinduism, but religion isn t the only cause of oppression, caste discrimination is also part of Indian culture. Therefore, one doesn t have to practice Hinduism to feel like it is okay to oppress Dalits. • 21. The Process Of Meiosis And Mitosis In order to better understand the process of meiosis and mitosis, students observed different types of asci. The arrangement of spores was associated to whether crossing over occurred during meiosis 1. We tried observing asci, from the mating plate that we did last lab, with a light microscope. However, the class was unsuccessful and were told to look for images of asci on google images and use these observations as our data. The observations obtained from google images, showed that 27 observations were made for asci of type 4:4, 19 for asci type 2:2:2:2 and 14 for asci of type 2:4:2 (Table IB 1). With these observations, we determined the map distance which was 27.5 map units (Figure 5.4). Since asci of type 4:4 were observed more, crossing over occurred less, thus producing less asci with different arrangements. Sordaria also undergo mitosis because the end result of meiosis are four haploid cells and haploid cells cannot divide by meiosis. Lastly, since more asci with type 4:4 were observed, the hypothesis was supported more black ascus were also observed which supported the second hypothesis. Although students were not successful in observing asci during the lab, students were still able to understand the importance of meiosis and relate it to real life issues. INTRODUCTION Meiosis is a two part cell division (meiosis 1 and meiosis 2) process that produces four daughter cells, each having half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell such as the product of ... Use Of Biodiesel Over Petroleum Diesel 1.0 Thesis: The use of biodiesel over petroleum diesel can be proven be easier to make, more energy efficient and a greener way to run you vehicle. 2.1 Argument 1: Process The use of biodiesel over the more common petroleum diesel has become a more frequent sight as people strive for an easier and more environmental beneficial way to run their vehicle with only small modifications needed. Unlike diesel which uses crude oil, biodiesel is made by converting oils such as waste vegetable oils to bio diesel. Diagram 1: Waste oil As can be seen in the comparison matrix like conventional petrol, biodiesel is also made up of long chains of hydrogen and carbon atoms, though as can be seen in diagram 1 the oils used to create biodiesel are slightly different in having three chains of these fatty acids being connected by a backbone of glycerine. To be able to use these oils for fuel the glycerine backbone has to be removed, which is done through a process called transesterification. Equation 1: transesterification process The transesterification process uses alcohols such as methanol which is seen in equation 1 to break the bonds between the fatty acid chains and the glycerol backbone. Once the glycerol bonds have been broken away from the fatty acid chain, they are then replaced by methoxy groups from the methanol used in the process. According to (The Cemistry of Biodiesel, 2014) this process is best done at a temperature of around 50°C for a complete ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The television of course! In Jerry Mander s The Four Arguments to Eliminate Television, where 30 years ago, he expressed that television will impact every aspect of today s world. The author hits the target spot on about society now through his insightful predictions on the incorporation of business into television as well as the harmful effects of television on the human body. First, Mander discusses how television will become not as much as a source of entertainment but rather into a form of business. He was correct by saying this because anytime someone is watching a show on TV what comes on during the break? Those pestering commercials trying to persuade the watcher into buying a product that is completely unnecessary and irrelevant. In addition, the TV could just be on with the sports channel and all of a sudden, the government can take over the air time and make a public announcement whenever they please. The intention of the television was to be something people can use to relax and enjoy from the comfort of home. Now the purpose of it is to advertise dumb things and the government taking control of the TV whenever it suits them. Mander predicted the future so accurately it is scary because back then no one thought it was going to happen but it almost seems he set the mold for the future society and overtime it just slowly has been coming into place. Next, the author mentions about the negative effects television has on a person s health. Back then, everyone would meet at the park and play there until it was so pitch black that they were not able to see their hands in front of them. While, today the idea kids have of hanging out is watching a movie or catching up on their favorite shows together. Our country used to be known for the white picket fences and kids all playing outside and the community all together. Now, our country is all isolated from each other, the number one country in the world for obesity, and everyone glued to their coach and their eyes onto the TV. In Holland s study, while radiofrequency rhizotomy was found to be the most cost effective treatment, 74% of patients experienced a recurrence in pain. Sivakanthan et al(24) found that MVD produced a QALY gain of 8.2 at 5 year follow up while SRS was 4.9 QALYs gained. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These studies suggest that the durability of pain relief with MVD greatly influences patient satisfaction with the procedure. However, they used a small number of patients, and adequate literature on patient satisfaction is lacking. Our results must be interpreted with caution. The model makes several simplifying assumptions, any of which can impact our results. Our data arise from a series of indirect, nonrandomized comparisons, within which there is clinical heterogeneity. The studies analyzed varied with respect to patient selection, baseline severity of pain, treatment assignment, outcome parameters measured and time of follow up. The use of a random effects model partially compensates for heterogeneity but cannot completely correct for it. For example, the majority of TN studies fail to record the preoperative level of pain, preventing a comparison between the two(16). While there are clinical pain scales to correct this problem, they were not used in our analysis(59, 60). Our reliance on trial level data rather than individual patient information may also introduce aggregation bias. In addition to Monte Carlo simulations, we ran sensitivity analyses in which we systematically varied values of each major variable. None had significant impact on our results except when varied to extreme values. We cannot rule age out as an independent predictor of outcome in MVD, suggesting SRS may be the more effective treatment in the elderly. There ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The United States is a very interesting society to watch deal with a problem such as inequality as social and economic inequality has marked the American experience (Lewis 1993, pg. 4). When it comes to the free market, the government is kept at bay, only stepping in to control monopolies from corrupting the system. When the market is left alone, it will adjust, this is the same mindset Americans have about themselves, leave people alone and they will adjust and get through themselves. America is a country based around fear. Fears of an imperial presidency emerging, of the government gaining too much power, and of the people rebelling. Raisuddin Bhuiyan, who goes by Rais, was a Muslim who immigrated to The United States, was unfortunately a victim of this hate. After being shot and nearly killed by Mark Stroman, Rais s faith after the shooting became very strong, realizing he was given a reason to live. Rais is a very religious man who came to the United States, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, shortly before the attacks on the twin towers in New York. After making America his home, the attack itself affected Rais very strongly, causing him to, throb with rage. (p. 24) Though he was not the only one who was enraged. Many people he encountered or overheard in the food mart where he worked were saying things such as Kill all Muslims in the Middle East. In the international trade, the absolute advantage indicates the ability of the economy to conduct tasks appropriately. The comparative advantage identifies the economy, which produces the goods with the lowest opportunity cost. The United States has an absolute advantage over the technological products and services which are critical. Within the global markets, the U.S has been able to provide tech products and services appropriately. However, it has comparative advantage of offering tech services while the absolute advantage exists in technology design and providing industrial capacity. The U.S is a major exporter in the international markets of products such as civilian aircraft, semiconductors, cars, car accessories, fuel oil, and organic chemicals among others. Such exports improve the U.S s comparative and absolute advantage. When correcting the missing information, consider the following questions. * Does the fact record only come from the source system once? * Is there a possibility that a row will become associated with a dummy dimension record because of edits? * Can changes or fixes to related dimensions result in the reassignment of dummy foreign keys to correct values? If the answer to all three of these questions is yes, then reprocessing may be required. The final test is to balance the cost of development versus the benefits of implementation. Is this type of error likely to occur, and is ultimately obtaining the correct information of value to the organization? If yes, then reprocess the fact record. • 45. Reflection On Team Management Let me begin with why I choose this course. From my past experience, I have worked for some good managers and some not so good ones. However, what I realized is that they can manage people but not that efficiently and effectively. This is where I understood; I need to learn how to manage people more effectively and efficiently. This course was offered for the first time in our program and it grabbed my attention even though this would be an extra course for me. Our first class was very friendly as everyone in the class had to introduce themselves to others based on which teams could be formed. This exercise spontaneously made each of us talk something positive as an individual and what they can bring to the team. I really liked the last part of this exercise; what all an individual can add to a team. Then we had a quick 5 minute session of shaking one another s hand without talking to each other. Here, we all made a mistake of not shaking the professor s hand as we all assumed him not to be a part of the exercise. Once we formed our team, we had a small exercise of making 15 paper airplane which had to travel a distance of 10 15 feet. This exercise taught us the forming part of the team model to adapt quickly in our new team, help each other and come up with a solution. Here, one team member observed the entire process without giving any inputs. Large bandwidth of the UWB signal rces use of RF front end with low gain compared to narrow band systems. As a result, baseband channel select filter must have very small input referred noise. Furthermore, baseband filter requires high attenuation and a very accurate and steep roll off to further limit interfering signal strength, which limits dynamic range of the subsequent ADC. Synthesizer implementation must limit spurious tones at the output of the synthesizer, which can transform interferers into the wanted frequency band. The relationship between Elizabeth and Victor lead to the assumption that possession of someone results in some sort of an intimate relationship: my more than sister, since till death she was to be mine only (Shelley, 37). The tone of this passage is incredibly possessive. It seems as if the only reason Victor is giving any praise or importance to Elizabeth is because she is his until death. Due to the powerful proprietorial tone of this line, I got the impression that Victor believes he is the only one who gets to decide when Elizabeth can die. Another tone I get from this line, is a sense of pride. He doesn t actually have pride toward Elizabeth, but rather he has pride in the fact that she was his and only his. Victor s first possessive experience with a relationship imprinted how his next relationships throughout his life would go. After going away to school, Victor felt quite isolated and longed for a friend or an equal. He obsessed over the thought of possessing an equal to the point of him bringing a creature to life. He dedicated all of his energy and time into creating the ultimate equal who was beautiful and as intelligent as he, but immediately after the creature came to life, Victor was disgusted: I felt the bitterness of disappointment; dreams that had been my food and pleasant rest for so long a space were now become a hell to me (Shelley, 59,60). The ants start at the home node, and then travel through the various layers from the ïŹrst layer to the last/ïŹnal layer, and end at the destination node in each cycle or iteration. Each ant can select only one node in each layer based on the state transition rule given by Eq. (2 9). The nodes chosen along the path visited by an ant represent a candidate solution. For instance, a typical path visited by an ant is depicted by thick lines in Fig. 2.2. This path represents the solution (x12, x23, x31, x45, x56, x64). Annealing refers to a process of heating a solid to a liquid state and then cooling it down slowly such that thermal equilibrium is maintained. Atoms then assume a nearly global minimum energy mode. In 1953 Metropolis created an algorithm in order to simulate the annealing process. The algorithm simulates a small random displacement of an atom that leads to a change in energy. If the change in energy is negative, the energy mode of the novel configuration is lower and the novel configuration is accepted. If the change in energy is positive, the novel configuration has a higher energy state; but, it may still be accepted based on the Boltzmann probability factor [103 104]: 2.21 where is the Boltzmann constant and denotes the current temperature. By examining this relation, we should note two things: the probability is proportional to temperature, as the solid cools, the probability gets smaller; and inversely proportional to , as the change in energy is larger the probability of accepting the changes gets smaller.
