Restaurant Literature Review Paper
Part 1 Theoretical Framework
1.1 Literature Review
1.1.1 Market Segmentation Market segmentation is a marketing concept, and it is based on the
customer needs and wants. The objectives of the concept is to let customer satisfy with what they
wants and to understand of customer preferences and produce the product and service. Customer
satisfaction is an important factor for the restaurant because it is how they going to survive in the
restaurant industry. Basically to understanding of the social, economic and, to a limited extent,
psychological location of the consumer (Salim, A, T., Rahmat, H., Karuthan, C., Mukesh, K. 2012).
The objectives are to let the satisfaction level become higher which based on effectively and
efficiently. To identify the market is by a variety of technique and methods, there is market
segmentation and target segmentation. To identify the target market need is also part of the
development to create satisfaction for the customer. Market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Boeing Airplane Company, Commonly Referred Simply As The
Boeing Airplane Company, commonly referred simply as The Boeing Company, is among the largest
worldwide aerospace companies. Boeing is an American multinational corporation that designs,
manufactures, and sells airplanes, rockets, rotorcraft, and satellites all over the world. The company

The many significant advances of technology that took place during the decade of 1950s gave Boeing
the opportunity to develop and manufacture new products. The company became a major producer of
small turbine engines during this time up to the late 1960s. Those types of engines became an
important part of the company s major effort to expand its products beyond military aircraft after
World War II, and by 1958, Boeing had already started the delivery of the model 707, which became
the Unites States first commercial jetliner to date .
In 1960 Boeing acquired the Vertol Aircraft Corporation, which was restructured and reorganized into
Vertol Boeing division to begin the production of twin rotors military helicopters, such as CH 47

Connotation For Independence
Once upon a time Cuba was a state ruled by the American law. Then a man came, namely Fidel
Castro, and fought for an independent state of Cuba. After the death of thousands and intensive
diplomatic negotiations Cuba became an independent nation. Just like Castro s independence many
people strived to become independent throughout the history in different ways. Independence is a state
of being where one is free from the rule of authority. The desire for independence by the people
lacking it formed a positive connotation for the word; at the same time, unjustified negative
connotations of the word was developed by the individuals aiming to hinder the independence of
people.

fields of humanity. Science is a significant area where independence is aimed to be ... Show more

Therefore, they are developing unjustified negative connotations for the word independence.
Independence of South Sudan was viewed positively by the South Sudanese people, but the Sudan
viewed it negatively. Although the Sudanese government didn t provide the necessary life standard for
South Sudanese people before the independence, this newly established nation was considered as a
problematic issue. Oppressed and oppressive people have contrary mindsets to each other. The aim of
the oppressed people is an enemy to be destroyed according to the oppressive people. In this case, the
objective is independence and the Sudanese government killed thousands of people to hinder the
independence of South Sudan. Eventually, Sudanese people began viewing independence as a threat to
their unity; which is a negative connotation of the word only confirmed by the oppressing people.
South Sudan is a successful independence, yet there are millions of people all around the world still

Euclidean Geometry Compare And Contrast
When it comes to Euclidean Geometry, Spherical Geometry and Hyperbolic Geometry there are many
similarities and differences among them. For example, what may be true for Euclidean Geometry may
not be true for Spherical or Hyperbolic Geometry. Many instances exist where something is true for
one or two geometries but not the other geometry. However, sometimes a property is true for all three
geometries. These points bring us to the purpose of this paper. This paper is an opportunity for me to
demonstrate my growing understanding about Euclidean Geometry, Spherical Geometry, and
Hyperbolic Geometry.
The first issue that I will focus on is the definition of a straight line on all of these surfaces. For a ...

These symmetries include: reflection in the line symmetry, reflection perpendicular to the line
symmetry, half turn symmetry, rigid motion along itself symmetry, central symmetry, and self
symmetry. If a line on a hyperbolic plane satisfies these conditions then we can say that it is straight. I
have included my homework of my definition of a straight line on a hyperbolic plane so that one can
see why these conditions must be satisfied.
The next issue that I will address for these three geometries is the definition of an angle on all three
surfaces. The definition that I will give applies to all three surfaces. There are at least three different
perspectives from which we can define angle . These include: a dynamic notion of angle angle as
movement, angles as measure, and angles as a geometric shape. A dynamic notion of angle involves
an action which may include a rotation, a turning point, or a change in direction between two lines.
Angles as measure may be thought of as the length of a circular arc or the ratio between areas of
circular sectors. When thinking of an angle as a geometric shape an angle may be seen as the
delineation of space by two intersecting lines. I have provided my homework assignment on my
definition of an angle so that one can see the reasoning of my definition for all three surfaces.
However, my homework assignment does not ask to define an angle on a hyperbolic plane. This is
because a region on a hyperbolic plane

Christianity And Hinduism .According To The Human Truth
Christianity and Hinduism According to the human truth foundation (2017) religions are shared
collection of transcendental beliefs that have been passed on from believers to converts, which are
held by adherents to be actively meaningful and serious and either based on formally documented
doctrine or established cultural practices. There are many religions in the world some are old as the
beginning of time and some are newer. Hinduism is one of the oldest organized religion in the world.
Hinduism originated around 1500 BCE in India by the involvement of thousands of different small
religions and their beliefs. Hinduism is a religion with very little boundaries, many different beliefs

They believe that other God and Goddess are the reincarnation of the one soul. They believe that there
were 600 different reincarnation of the one soul (Kauai s Hindus Monastery, 2017). Because of wide
beliefs they embrace Jesus as a guru. They do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God, just as
teacher like many others (All about religion.org (2017). However, Christianity is a monotheistic
religion, which only have one God. Christians believe in one true and living God, who exists as three
distinct: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (Crain, 2017). Third difference between the Christianity and
Hinduism is each religions believes of soul and body connection. Christians believe that a person has
one soul and one body. That when a person dies the soul leaves this earth and go to a place called
heaven or hell. Soul of person sends to heaven or hell, depending on their actions in the earth.
However, the Hinduism believes that person s soul can be reincarnated to different life after bodily
death. They believe that life cycle will happen until that soul does actions to please the God. Hinduism
believes the people life and fate are interconnected with their previous life. Person s fate or events in
their life depend on their actions of their pervious life (Jayaram, 2015). Another difference between
the Hinduism and Christianity are their concept of sin. Christians believe when a person commits sin,

LAB 11: Performing a Web Site and Database Attack by Exploiting Identified Vulnerabilities
1. Why is it critical to perform a penetration test on a Web application and a Web server prior to
production implementation?
Essentially, performing a penetration test on a web application or web server, prior to implementation,
is critical to exposing and/or correcting any existing security flaws. In fact, such penetration testing is
critical to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of a given web application or
service. Also, penetration testing should be performed on a regular basis, or whenever a given web
application or service is modified, in order to detect any possible security vulnerabilities and/or flaws.
2. What is a cross site scripting attack? Explain in your own words.
Simply put, cross site scripting refers to the malicious injection of scripting code, into a given web
server or application, in order to exploit or extract information and/or data, or even modify the
contents of the targeted web server or application. Regarding cross site scripting, cross site scripting
attacks utilize the process of cross site scripting, and may be classified into two categories: persistent,
or stored, and non persistent, or reflective.

General purpose: to inform.
Specific purpose: After hearing my speech, my audience will know more what climate change is, what
causes it and its effects now and in the future.
Thesis Statement: Climate change is a very important issue that affects all of us, we need to know
more about this issue.
Organization pattern: Cause and effect.
Introduction:
I. (Attention getter): When you look at yourself in a dirty mirror; can you see your image very well?
No. The same occurs when the sun rays reflect on the sea and that reflection can t be released into the
space because gasses in the atmosphere block their exit causing the planet to get warmer.
II. Climate change is how the weather has changed in a specific area over a given period of time
usually 30 years. That means that changes in the weather could be variable or extreme depends on the
region you are. We are seeing these changes every year as the seasons change; I.e. Usually we
compare the weather of the season this year and the weather of the season from the past year.
III. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Climate change
encompasses global warming, it refers to the broad range of changes that are happening to our planet.
That means the reason of Climate Change is because the planet is getting warmer and this heat is

Farm Owners Stereotypes
The Truth About Farm Owners
Ever been faced with others thinking about you in the wrong way? A misconception is a conclusion
that is incorrect because it s based on faulty thinking or facts that are wrong. On the other hand,
stereotypes are an idea or belief people have about something or a group that is based on their physical
appearance, which may be completely untrue or only partly true. Stereotypes and misconceptions are
very different from each other in that misconceptions are based on faulty truths and stereotypes are
how people are seen by others. Additionally, a stereotype is an exaggerated belief or distorted image
that can be either positive or negative. A failure to understand something correctly can lead to
misconceptions. Many misconceptions and stereotypes are formed because people often get the wrong
information or image about a certain thing or group and then share that information with others.
Groups, in which negative misconceptions are faced with, often suffer from bad reputations. One such
case, where a group is often thought of incorrectly, are farm owners. Farm owners are negatively
misconceived in certain ways, but in reality they need to be better understood so that the truth about
them can be well known.
There are numerous forms of misconceptions and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Exploring Homoeroticism In Herman Melville Is Billy Budd...
I was studying how Herman Melville shows what was going on in his personal life by what was
happening in his writing. This topic is important to investigate because, we can better understand what
is happening in his literature if we can equate it with personal connections to his life. This way readers
can connect better with the author as well as the piece of writing. Before I did this study I knew
nothing about Herman Melville s personal life. I have never read any work of his before, nor did I ever
did any research on him. This study will help me connect with Melville, in which that will help me
understand his writing. More specifically Billy Budd, Sailor. That being said, Herman Melville uses
Billy Budd, Sailor as an allegory for what he was facing in his own life. One of Herman Melville s
biggest personal secret is that he was queer. He had a wife, but also wrote love letters to his male
interests. It is safe to say Melville was bisexual, but no one will know for sure. In Billy Budd, Sailor,
Melville wrote in a gay character, which is Claggart. Dana Silva, a publisher in Agora, in her paper
Exploring Homoeroticism in Herman Melville s Novella Billy Budd, Sailor, published in Agora,
explains:
Unobserved and thus left to indulge in his own private desire, Claggart, while viewing Billy, is torn
between his maritime sexual yearnings and his heterosexual societal obligations. The sight of Billy
evokes with Claggart unsurpassed sorrow; his expression becomes melancholy,

A Character Analysis Of Iago Essay
Iago is one of the most interesting characters in the tragedy quot;Othello quot; by William
Shakespeare. Through some carefully thought out words and actions, Iago is able to manipulate others
to do things in a way that benefits him and gets him closer to his goals. He is the driving force in this
play, pushing Othello and everyone else towards the tragic ending.
Iago is not the typical villain in any story or play. The role he plays is unique and complex, far from
what one might expect from a villain. Iago is not only very smart, but he is also an expert judge
character. This gives him a great advantage in the play. For example, he knows Roderigo is in love
with Desdemona and figures that he would do anything to have her as his own. ... Show more content

Iago could be deceiving them or manipulating them.
Iago makes a complete fool out of Roderigo. In fact, as play starts Iago is taking advantage of
Roderigo. Roderigo remarks, quot; That thou, Iago, who hast had my purse as if the strings were thine.
quot; [Act I, Scene I, Line 2]. Throughout the play, Iago leads Roderigo by the collar professing that
he quot;hate(s) the Moor quot; [Act I, Scene III, Line 344] and telling Roderigo to quot;make money

gifts that Roderigo purchases for Desdemona for himself. Roderigo eventually begins to question

The Action Research Cycle Analysis Will Facilitate A...
As part of the action research cycle analysis will facilitate a process of dialectic examination. Winter
(1989) recognises that progress in action research depends upon a researcher s ability to represent the
theory itself along with a way of understanding it. Consequently, through the process of analysis I will
endeavour to understand and explain the key findings from the data collected.
In England children start formal schooling at the age of four. However many children attend nursery
prior to starting school, with statistics from the Department for Education stating there were 1,673,130

Whilst some families require early care, due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, government agendas persist on viewing early years as a preparation for school, with
Elizabeth Truss suggesting increased access to early learning would improve the academic ability of
children (BBC, 2014).
In contrast, Britain s House of Commons Education Select Committee (2000) proposed that
formalised learning could damage learning whilst Tricia David (1998) of the Professional Association
of Nursery Nurses suggested that emphasis on formal education before the age of five could result in a
sense of failure, leading to long term underachievement and disaffection. Correspondingly Whitebread
(2013) suggests that formalised learning should be delayed, similarly to European countries who
currently have higher levels of academic achievement and child well being.
With families and government agendas seeking early years provision as the stepping stone to school,
with the capacity to improve academic success, formalised activities such as reading and writing
dominate early years classrooms. The data collected for this research indicates that families within my
setting believe that formalised learning is a necessary activity for preparation for school. Comments
such as, It would be wonderful to let my child play all day, but what are they going to learn? (Archive
7: Parent 4) implies that play is not deemed part of the school readiness agenda.

Analysis Of Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes
Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes is a story that was written by Chris Crutcher. This book was narrated in
first person, by the protagonist Eric Moby Calhoune. His best friend is Sarah Byrnes, and they have
been close since they were younger, due to their flaws. Eric is overweight and Sarah has burn scars
covering her entire face. As the two grew older, Eric lost his weight when he joined the school
competitive swim team. Meanwhile, Sarah Byrnes still remained as what her classmates called ugly .
The two were each other s best friends, and Eric even stayed fat for a whole year for her. Sarah Byrnes
believed that if Eric became skinny, then he would have more friends, and eventually forget about her.
With the help of others, it is found that Sarah Byrnes was abused by her father, Virgil Byrnes, when
she was three, causing the burns on her face. She has been kept in the hospital for thinking about
committing suicide for the entirety of the story. Sarah is not talking to anybody, even her best friend,
and Eric knows he has to find a way to make her speak. Eric Calhoune, both the protagonist and
narrator, is an important character of the text. It is fascinating how he is such a devoted friend to
Sarah, and wants to do whatevers best for her, even if it is not beneficial for him. Over the course of
the novel, Eric evolved into a more forgiving character. This is accomplished when he goes to
someone who used to bully him, Dale Thornton, for help on how to get Sarah Byrnes to

Criminal Law And Popular Culture
Question #1 Criminal Law and Popular Culture With the increase in crime rates and application of
criminal justice, it is factual that the filming industry has embraced the issue where more than quarter
of the television dramas and films are based on crime and criminal justice. Most of these television
programs and dramas exhibit values such as societal norms in law enforcement and agencies involved
in criminal law. Therefore, messages conveyed in these TV programs are based on the real life law
enforcement through legal processes, legal system adhered to, and the law enforcers involved.
Basically, these television programs feature the knowledge on the legal system, law enforcers
representations, legal rights, compliance, and victimization. Close scrutiny of these programs exhibits
that they are just fictions on law enforcement in the real life setting. Thus, they depict law enforcers as
moral people in the society who are qualified in attending to crimes. Therefore, one can assert that
criminal law helps the makers of these TV programs to draw a distinction between law enforcers and
the criminals. Furthermore, it helps TV programs convey relevant information regarding the operation
of the justice system. Citing from the CSI effect, it is perceptibly factual that TV shows/dramas that
adhere to forensic investigation as a way of solving crimes are significantly affecting the criminal law
in the contemporary CJS. Prosecutor and

The Societal Evolution Of Women Through Cinema
Shamamah Khan The Societal Evolution of Women through Cinema Women in society have been
portrayed many ways in film according to the era or according to what society considers appealing.
Often times when a women is placed at the center of the story and is the main actress she is the
product of what society makes her out to be. Dating back to the Postwar era in Germany to now
women in films, particularly the women in Pandora s Box, A Women Under the Influence, and
Frances Ha all to some extent become the outcome of social disintegration. The women in these films
are the result of the broken and disturbed societies. In G.W. Pabst Pandora s Box we will see how
Lulu, the main protagonist fits into her society through by representing society during the postwar and
stabilized period in Germany. Then through John Cassavetes A Women Under the Influence we will
see how Mabel struggles to live in a society that expects so much of her. We will discuss how her
illness is the result of certain social roles imposed on her. Finally, through Frances Ha we will see
Pandora Box s Lulu was essentially the creation of the after effect of Post War Germany. Though the
film was released in 1929, a time where Germany entered the stabilized period (Weimar Republic) but

Animal Farm Animal Control
Control, lies, and terror. These words describe the Animal Farm under Napoleon s rule. This 1945
book was based on the Russian revolution and used animals revolting against their owner to describe
events that took place in the real life rebellion. Napoleon has proven himself a similar tyrant to Jones
by acting controlling toward the animals, living the same lifestyle, and breaking his agreements.
When Napoleon took leadership during the revolt against Farmer Jones, the power went straight to his
head, and that started reflecting how he treated the animals after they took over the farm. Napoleon s
actions were like a mirror; it reflected how Jones treated the animals before. It even came to the extent
of taking away a tradition that animals keep dear to their heart because it shows honor and dignity.
According to page 38 of Animal Farm, By George Orwell, ...by a special decree of Comrade
Napoleon, Beast of England has been abolished. From now onwards it was forbidden to sing it. For
Napoleon to gain more power he needed to take away something that the animals honor to show he is
the leader now, but if that song were never stated, most of the animals would not have been motivated
to help revolt against Farmer Jones. Every day the animals were being forced to work, and if they did
not, they would not get enough food to survive. The animals were being treated like Napoleon s
servants, but the animals were too gullible to bypass Squealer s lies. According to page 26 of

mentally impaired are immediately labeled as different. Questions on what to do with these people are

days peeling back the yellow wallpaper. This confines the characters to a world where it s just them
and their insanity. These characters are present in many different stories. Lewis Carroll s Alice in

Whether it be blaming the traffic for one s tardiness rather than admitting that they hit the snooze

situation in order to understand that it was the bank s fault for making a bad business deal; excuses

people make as people being immune to reality , and suggests that people are typically unaware of the

A recurring point in Gilbert s studies included the notion that people were utterly incapable of making
predictions that would lead to their actual optimal happiness. A study showed that about nine out of
ten people expect to feel more regret when they foolishly switch stocks than when they foolishly fail
to switch stocks , but the study also showed that those nine out of ten people are wrong in assuming
that expectation (Gilbert 135). A majority of consumers also made an incorrect assumption, as
described by Stiglitz, which resulted in the maintenance and growth of one of the most well known
monopolies of the present. The consumers assumed that, due to it s near monopoly on PC operating
systems, Microsoft was a good and innovative company and is capable in handling computer systems.
This was not the case when it came to alternative technologies such as the development of the Internet
and the web browser because their competitor, Netscape, was building on government funded research
while Microsoft had no such incentive (Stiglitz 405). Microsoft then decided to launch their Internet
Explorer, but by itself Internet Explorer could not compete against Netscape. They knew this, and so
decided to use its monopoly power in PC operating systems to make sure that the playing field was

Throughout the recent transmission of chikungunya, it has affected many countries in Central America

The Day Of The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
She was just an average 18 year old girl, when she thought her life was over. It all had happened three
months ago. It was just another sunny fall day, in the Malibu, California. She had gone through four
years of high school just to get to this point. She thought it would one of the best days of her life, until
it all fell apart. Finally after three months she thought it was all over. Then Becky Newman realized
she was in for a very long ride, that would change everything.
Three months ago It was time to leave. She was ecstatic she had been waiting for so long and today

Fabio? Is that you? Becky exclaimed.

Oh my bad, this is Jessica she is my roommate. Becky said pointing to Jessica.
Nice to meet you. Jessica said
You too, Fabio replied.
So Jessica, Becky, and Fabio ended up spending the rest of the day together. They had dinner and then
realized it was getting late, so Fabio went back to his dorm and Jessica and Becky went back to theirs.
As Becky was in the verge of sleep, her phone started ringing. It was an unknown number so she
ignored it at first. The same number then called back immediately. This time she answered.
Hello? Becky said groggily.
Hello, is this Becky Newman? An emotionless voice said.
Yes this is she, may I ask who is calling. Becky asked confused as to why someone would be calling at
1:45 am.
I m so sorry I have to be the one to tell you, but your parents are in the hospital, and I am simply their

Universal Health Care Economics
Interestingly, there is in fact, a strong correlation between health and a state s economic performance.
Universal health care is not only a fair social policy; it is also an effective economic policy. By
ensuring good population health through the treatment and prevention of illness, the health care sector
increases the number of people able to work and be productive members of society. The Lancet
Commission on Investing in Health had recently discovered that investments in health were
responsible for nearly one quarter of all economic growth in developing countries between 2000 and
2011. Promoting a universal health care system can possibly lower a nations costs spent on health
care. A study in the American Journal of Public Health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This suggests that for every dollar one spends to purchase something, whether a loaf of bread or a new
car, 16 percent of it goes to healthcare. Other developed countries with universal health care pay far
less, roughly 9 12 percent of GDP . This consists of nations where people live much longer and who
are much healthier. The difference in costs, about 5 percent of GDP, works out to 750 billion dollars
every year, more than half the annual federal deficit. According to the US Census Bureau,
approximately 47.9 million people in the United States did not have health insurance in 2012. Due to
the lack of affordable health care in the States, many patients delay or abandon treatments, resulting in
a lack of uncompensated care for doctors and thus, reduced income. A recent survey of doctors in the
United States has revealed that 30 to 40 percent of practicing physicians would not choose to enter the
medical profession if they were deciding on a career again, and an even higher percentage would not
encourage their children to pursue a medical career. With less people paying for costly treatments, less
profit is being generated and more illnesses are being dealt

Cleaning Gutter Guards Research
Tired Of Cleaning Clogged Gutters? Install Gutter Guards And Keep Leaves Out If scraping decaying
leaves out of your gutters is a job you hate, you should think about installing gutter guards. The guards
keep leaves out of the troughs while allowing rain to seep in, so your gutters work as intended. While
they don t make your gutters completely maintenance free, they do cut down on a lot of time and labor
spent cleaning your gutters. Here are a few things to know. Different Types Of Gutter Guards You can
buy different types of gutter guards. Some are screens of mesh or nylon that sit on top of the troughs.
Others are curved like a dome, so leaves slide off. Some guards fit inside the gutters. They are like
sponges or bristle brushes that allow water in, but keep leaves out. When choosing the type of guards
to put on your gutters, consider how they will affect the appearance of your house. The most visible
are the curved domes that sit on top of the troughs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you have screens or bristle guards, you may be able to clean them by flushing them with water
while they are still in place. You ll have to remove domed guards so you can see inside the troughs.
The guards should snap on and off in large sections so you can remove them and hose them off in your
yard. With no piles of leaves clogging the troughs, small seeds and twigs should flush on through with
running water. Even though your gutters and the guards may not be clogged or have much debris in
them, it is still important to clean them occasionally. It is always a good idea to inspect your gutters
annually, and clean them if needed, to make sure they are working properly. If a limb falls on the
gutters or a raccoon messes around on your roof, one of the guards could become dislodged and allow
leaves in without you knowing it unless you inspect your gutter system

A Beautiful Day In My Life
Five more minutes, I groaned as I layed in my bed one cloudless Monday morning while my mom

I rolled out of bed. Still working on Georgetown. Georgetown?! It s already been three weeks! I know,
I know. I m putting a lot of effort into this. After all, this is my life, is it not? Although this is a lot of

ready for school, went downstairs, and gazed out the window in the living room to see the gorgeous
sunlight shine through the skyscrapers. Beautiful view, I remarked as my mom walked down the open
riser staircase. The tall towers that were scattered across Manhattan stood right in front of my window.
I walked towards the kitchen and grabbed an apple from the fridge. I m very glad you picked this one
out of all the apartments we looked at. Me too, Lucas, my mother assured as I cleaned the alluring
apple under the running faucet on the island, me too. I took a bite into the crisp golden apple. She
asked, Ready for school? Yeah, I guess, I responded. Adios. I sluggishly hauled my five ton backpack

Some of the most popular shows take the form of musicals during this era.
Popular musicals include: The Wizard of Oz, Oklahoma. Although musicals may now be the most
popular part of Broadway, during its initial experiments it seems that producers were skeptical about
its commercial potential. Many of the musicals produced are still popular to this day,

Stop Selling Tobacco And Tobacco Products
American s spend a startling $156 Billion dollars every year on tobacco and tobacco related products
and an additional $133 Billion dollars on healthcare for diseases that originate from smoking and
chewing tobacco. The human toll is also significant with a projected 8 million people to die every year
by 2030. To combat these extreme statistics CVS Caremark, now CVS Health, has decided to make
the hard business decision to stop selling tobacco products in all 7,700 of its drug stores. The decision
stemmed from changing its image from a corner store that fills prescriptions to a health care company
that is trying to reinvent the pharmacy to have a more supportive and active role in health care . To
show support for the idea, petitions have been popping up on Change.com like the one by Michael
Brochstein of New York, New York who is calling for other drug store giant Walgreens and its
subsidiary Duane Read to follow in CVS s footsteps and stop selling tobacco products also.
Proponents of the idea say that if these giants stop selling tobacco then regular purchasers will have to
go elsewhere, making it less convenient and possibly making smokers move in the right direction, to
quit smoking and hopefully curve the smoking rate as a whole. This is needed because although
smoking has been on the decrease since the early 1990 s, recently getting to a low of 18% percent of
white males being smokers, it is still an epidemic that kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car

Essay on Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a health ailment which causes bones to become so porous that they can break easily.
Osteoporosis literally means porous bones . The bones in our skeleton are made of a thick outer shell
and a strong inner mesh filled with collagen [protein], calcium salts and other minerals. The inside
looks like honeycomb, with blood vessels and bone marrow in the spaces between bone. Osteoporosis
occurs when the holes between bone become bigger, making it fragile and liable to break easily.
Osteoporosis usually affects the whole skeleton but it most commonly causes breaks or fractures to
bone in the wrist, spine and hip.

Studies have shown that both estrogen and raloxifene, a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator, can
prevent the loss of bone mass in postmenopausal women. Alendronate, a bisphosphonate is an
alternative to estrogen for bone protection. Calcitonin is another treatment used by women for
osteoporosis. This drug has been shown to slow bone breakdown and also may reduce the pain
associated with osteoporotic fractures. Treatments under investigation include other bisphosphonates,
sodium fluoride, para thyroid hormone, vitamin D metabolites, and other selective estrogen receptor
modulators.
Osteoporosis can be prevented. Regular exercise can reduce the likelihood of bone fractures
associated with osteoporosis. Studies show that exercises requiring muscles to pull on bones, cause the
bones to retain and perhaps even gain density. Researchers found that women who walk a mile a day
have four to seven more years of bone in reserve than women who don t. Some of the recommended
exercises include: weight bearing exercises, riding stationary bicycles, using rowing machines,
walking, and jogging. Avoiding smoking and watching what you drink can also decrease your chances
of acquiring osteoporosis. Most important of all, a diet that includes an adequate amount of calcium
(from milk and dairy products such as cheese and yogurt), vitamin D, and protein

Content Management Systems
Content management system is a procedural system that determines how work flows in any given
work environment. With reference to the web environment, content management system may be
limited to the creation, control, storage and deployment of individual contents on a given web page.
Content management system is differentiated from static pages through a number of ways. Ultimately,
whereas content management system should enable a manipulative approach towards the use of the
web pages in question, static pages give web users no manipulative option of altering the content of
the page. Rather, users act as passive beneficiaries who receive the information on the web pages just
as they have been stored. This means that given a number of users ... Show more content on

Finally, there should be a conscious effort to generate traffic through prudent ways of attracting people
to the website. It is advised that Users can create surveys and polls to find out what their visitors like

Recent survey conducted among content management system users have pointed to the cost of content
management system software as being too expensive. This means that there is a hindrance to getting
the very best of quality if one is not ready to spend more (The Information Architecture Institute,
2003). There is also the problem of migrating old content to a new and updated content. This means
that the actual process of managing content to benefit from the full usefulness of content management
system is a great obstacle to some users. Even more, the problem of protection of URL paths exists.
This creates insecurity and creates volatility on the path. Finally, content management system has a
number of limitations to the problems it can solve itself. This is like saying that research on the
functions of CMS is still not complete. Some of the problems that CMS is said not to be in a position
to solve include lack of editorial control, bad copywriting, bloated websites and single language

Clearly, not all websites use CMS the same way. Whereas some use CMS in a relatively productive
and good way, others use them distastefully. A website that can be said to use CMS distastefully may
be one that allows

Victor Frankenstein Reflection
Victor Frankenstein, an egocentric scientist, decides to defy the laws of nature and act as if he was
God. When he successfully creates life, the moment he looks at the creature he shrieks in horror. The
hideousness of the creature causes Victor to run away in fear leaving the newborn to survive by itself.
When Victor returns back to an empty apartment, he rejoices and thinks his problem has vanished.
Between Victor Frankenstein and the creature, Victor is the bigger monster because he feels no
remorse for his actions while the creature regrets many of his wrong doings despite both seeking
revenge.
The creature, born with feelings of happiness and affection , is a reflection of Victor as a young boy,
full of joy and love. The creature and Victor share these uplifting traits in the beginning of their lives,
but their spirits drastically change when one wrongs the other. The selfishness and irresponsibility
rushing through Victors veins lead to the destruction of the creature s heart. Due to Victor s resignation
of being the father figure of the creature; the creature seeks vengeance on Victor indirectly. Both

Seven Approaches to Studying the Human Body Essay
When studying the human body, there are seven organizational approaches. Each approach studies the
body in a different yet unique way and is used in the health care field. The approaches consist of; body
planes and directions, body cavities, quadrants and regions, anatomy and physiology, microscopic and
macroscopic, body systems and medical specialties.
There are three body planes which use different directions: coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes.
Coronal plane slices the body from head to toe giving a front and back view. There are two directions
that are related with it; anterior posterior, moving from the outside of the body through the anterior
part then the posterior section, and posterior anterior, which is its reverse. ... Show more content on

For instance, in the left lower quadrant is the lower part of the kidney, part of the colon, and the left
ovary for women. This type of diagram would help with position the organs. In the health field,
physicians refer to this during an internal exam.
According to Degreedirectory.org (1999), anatomy studies the structure of organs and cells. Since
cells are a microscopic size the best way to study, using this approach is with a microscope, which is,
a tool used to examine cells. Physiology is the study of the function of organ and cells. Organs are of a
macroscopic size that means it can be seen with the naked eye. These approaches can be used in many
ways in health care. An orthopedic would study muscles and tendons or an immunologist would study
blood cells using a microscope.
The human body is made up of several different types of systems. This means that each system is
made up of a few organs, which synchronize with one another and work as a unit. Organs are unable
to perform without the help of the other organs in their unit. All of the organs support one another to
perform their functions.
The gastrointestinal system breaks down the foods we eat into protein, vitamins, fats and
carbohydrates, which is used for energy, growth and repair. The organs in the respiratory system are
the nose, trachea and lungs. These organs help bring air into the body and eliminate the

Persuasive Essay On The Dropout
Change. Good or bad, effective or null, there will always be change. While change has the potential to
amazing things, it also has the ability to turn things for the worse. A reduction in the age requirement
for a student to drop out, for example. A change such as this would have an incredible potential to
worsen the situation. There are pros and cons to every decision, regardless of the kind it is. However,
in this case, the cons greatly outweigh the pros, enough so that one should tread carefully when
coming to a decision.
One of the many bad consequences that would occur should the dropout age be reduced is regret.
Many students will drop out and realize how much of a mistake it was later in life, and feel that they
should have let themselves be educated more. This is only a minor consequence, however, worth
mentioning. It is also good to mention the effect it would have on our nation s overall education level.
It s very possible that it would be greatly reduced. At age fourteen, the body and mind are still
growing and adapting to the ever changing world. The world in which we live today changes on a
daily basis, and it is hard to become accustomed to it when your own body is doing the exact same
thing. Many fourteen year olds don t even think about their future; it s likely they wouldn t think very
deeply on the matter of whether or not they should drop out. A sixteen year old has had time to adjust
to the world s constantly changing patterns, and has lived long enough

How Did The Soviet Union Develop A Command Economy
The industrial expansion of the Soviet Union resulted in one of the greatest economic growths for a
single country that the modern world has ever seen. This economic growth ultimately led to the USSR
becoming one of the world s only two superpowers in the post WWII era. Much of the country s
economic growth occurred because of the USSR s use of a command economy, which is an economy
in which production, investment, prices, and incomes are determined centrally by a government [1].
Using a command economy, the USSR was able to force industrialization in certain sectors in which
pre Soviet Russia highly struggled. One of these sectors was the Nuclear Power sector. Ultimately,

Post-colonialism in The Hunger Games
The success of the books, The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, is remarkable considering
that the storyline is of a game in which children kill each other. The books have reached iconic status
in America and is an anomaly in the Young Adult Literature genre in that it has a female protagonist
yet is popular with male and female readers of all ages. Collins wrote the series in response to her
fears of the blurred lines between Reality Shows and televised news events (Blasingame 726). The
dystopian world portrayed in the book is rife with Post colonial themes. There are many opinions
about the proper definition of Post colonialism even going so far as to argue about whether the prefix
post should be added to the word Colonialism. For the sake of clarity, I will use the term Post
colonialism as it is broadly defined in Post colonial Studies: The Key Concepts, the effects of
colonization on cultures and societies (Ashcroft, Griffiths and Tiffin 186). Many critics such as Bhaba,
Spivak and Said define this critical theory as predominately characterized by race; however there are
other critics, such as Jessica Langer, who believe that the injustices perpetrated by colonialism, in all
its forms (152) should be considered in Post colonial studies. I will argue that the Post colonial
concepts of Hybridity, Othering and Imperialism go beyond racial barriers and reverberate throughout
the The Hunger Games.
The novel tells the story of a future in which North America has

Narrative Essay About Duck Camp
Initially, when I first visited Tarleton State University, all I saw was men wearing cowboy hats, jeans,
and boots, but as I walked around campus more with my dad, I started to see more diversity within the
students on campus. As my dad and I walked around campus looking like we don t belong, a girl
pointed us in the right direction to find Heritage. We spoke to a residential leader who kindly showed
us around the dorm and told us how amazing the campus is. From that second forward, I had started to
fall in love with Tarleton. Orientation soon approached and introduced me to Duck Camp. When I
originally heard what Duck camp was about, teaching the heritage and traditions of Tarleton, I was
exhilarated to leave that second to learn, socialize, and start my transition from high school to college.
Before Duck Camp arrived, one of my TTMs, Wacey Horton, sent me a text saying he will be my
daddy duck for Duck Camp one. To be completely honest, I was a little weirded out when I saw him
say daddy duck but it made me laugh and all the more excited for Duck Camp. Wacey made my Duck
Camp experience something I will never forget for the rest of my life; he made it fun, introduced all of
us to new people, established friendships between all of us, and has brought me entirely out of my
shell I had enclosed myself in during high school. Wacey taught me how to have more confidence, to
have real school spirit, and how to yell my lungs out like me life depended on it. Thanks to an

bull dogs. The police found a gruesome scene, Sheriff Agnew is quoted It was an absolutely grisly
mauling. In my 40 years of law enforcement I ve never seen anything quite like it. I hope I never see

In June 2008 the Netherlands repealed its ban on Pit Bulls because afterwards dog bites rose, now the
government is using behavior based instead of breed based laws. Just like the Netherlands the U.K.
did not see a decrease in dog bites, and made the ownership of Pitt Bulls higher among criminals. In
Maryland in 1996 it cost the state over a million dollars to implement a Pitt Bull ban, and the results
were unmeasurable. The states or countries that have Pitt Bull bans have to cover the cost of lawsuits
and other court dealings. Overtime Pitt Bull bans have proven cost ineffective and cumbersome. In the
United States 75% of dogs do not have any traceable linage and BSL is based off of appearances.
There is a large inaccurate percentage of dogs are Pitt Bulls or a Pitt Bull mix. Due to the reputation
that Pitt Bulls in the media many criminals and gangs believe that these are vicious dogs and banning
them just reinforces that stereotype. Reasonable dog owner go through great lengths to make sure their
pet is cared for by training, socializing, and managing them. BSL fails to take into account this by
solely focusing on appearances, and not the owner or dog. If the owner is a responsible one he or she

The Impact Of Political Machine On The City

U.S. Urban History
Essay: Urban America
Discuss the political machine and its operations in the city, 1865 1939 The political machine is very
powerful in the city and because of how powerful it is that urban United States was able to develop so
much and increase in power in the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. A political machine is system of
political organization based on patronage, the spoils system, and political ties. Sometimes political
machines have a boss and sometimes they may not have a boss, and always have a corps of workers
who depend on the patronage given by government contracts and jobs. Machine politics has existed in
many United States cities for a long time now, but are still in effect in some areas. The rapid growth of
American cities in the late 1800 s and early 1900 s created huge problems for the government that ran
the cities as in most cases in was very poorly structured and could not really give the people what they
needed. It is because of the inability of city government to provide these things to the people that there
was a rise in political machines. These political machines gained support from the population by
providing houses for people who needed them and by also offering people jobs that they desperately
needed. This gave the political machines a lot of power and support from there loyal followers. Voters
are often rewarded with patronage jobs. However, patronage can result in poorer service to the

Kenneth I. Chenault is the CEO of American Express
Kenneth I. Chenault was born on June 2nd, 1951, in Mineola New York. He went to Bowdoin College
and he also went to Harvard University. Before he became CEO he was working at Bain Company
from 1979 to 1981 as a management consultant. Chenault is the chairman and chief executive officer
(CEO) of American Express. He went to go work for American Express in 1981 as Director of
strategic planning. He saw an opportunity to work in a different department within the company,
which was the merchandising group. Chenault saw and wanted a challenge, and he got one. He took
the company from making 150 million to 500 million. He manages 70,000 employees at American
Express; he describes his leadership style as simple but complex. The simple part is that he has been
consistent in his goals, which are to serve responsibility of customers, employees and shareholders. He
is always looking for good leaders within the company. He feels like since 70,000 employees work at
the company and he will not have the chance to interact with all of them, he says that every person at
the meeting should share what was discussed to 20 or more employees so everyone can feel part of the
company. Constructive confrontation is key and very important to him he wants employees to have
that; people should have the ability to speak up, and he believes that leadership can be taught. Even
though American Express does not have formal leadership training, Chenault hopes to teach people,
by people following him and

The Business Market Or Service Determines Their Revenue,...
The way a business market or service determines their revenue, sustainability, and longevity. In the
past business and entrepreneurs advertised to their customers by going door to door or if they were
financially stable they would pay for an advertisement on television. Unfortunately, advertising door
to door would limit coverage and commercials pricing may start at 500. Therefore, a new venture was
becoming and reaching more customers called data mining. Now all the managers have to do is figure
out the statistic of the population they want to advertise too and market to a specific group of people
with their previous purchases. They can use data visualization to analyze customer s preference and
patterns.
The benefits of data mining are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Predictive analytics is a great way to understand the behavior of customers because the type of
analysis analyzes their past to predict what they will purchase in the future. Business can also predict
how much of an item customers will purchase. Businesses can reduce the price of popular items and
increase customer spending. Cable companies monopolize on predictive analytics when a customer
downgrade, cancel, or purchase new service. When customers are getting new service they may be
asked how they chose this cable company from television advertisement, radio, internet or friend.
When a customer cancels their service they may ask them, why did you cancel your service and what
would help you continue your service. The company can use questions from current and previous
customers to improve their business and provide quality service. If CEO and managers analyze their
customer behavior they can market with improved services from previous complaints which would
bring more customers and raise revenue. A successful marketing team will target the right customers
with the most appealing information concerning their product or service.
Web mining to discover business intelligence from Web customers can compare the products the

The next issue that I will address for these three geometries is the definition of an angle on all three surfaces. The definition that I will give applies to all three surfaces. There are at least three different perspectives from which we can define angle . These include: a dynamic notion of angle angle as movement, angles as measure, and angles as a geometric shape. A dynamic notion of angle involves an action which may include a rotation, a turning point, or a change in direction between two lines. Angles as measure may be thought of as the length of a circular arc or the ratio between areas of circular sectors. When thinking of an angle as a geometric shape an angle may be seen as the delineation of space by two intersecting lines. Correspondingly Whitebread (2013) suggests that formalised learning should be delayed, similarly to European countries who currently have higher levels of academic achievement and child well being. Criminal Law And Popular Culture Question #1 Criminal Law and Popular Culture With the increase in crime rates and application of criminal justice, it is factual that the filming industry has embraced the issue where more than quarter of the television dramas and films are based on crime and criminal justice. Most of these television programs and dramas exhibit values such as societal norms in law enforcement and agencies involved in criminal law. Therefore, messages conveyed in these TV programs are based on the real life law enforcement through legal processes, legal system adhered to, and the law enforcers involved. Basically, these television programs feature the knowledge on the legal system, law enforcers representations, legal rights, compliance, and victimization. Close scrutiny of these programs exhibits that they are just fictions on law enforcement in the real life setting. Thus, they depict law enforcers as moral people in the society who are qualified in attending to crimes. • 26. Cleaning Gutter Guards Research Tired Of Cleaning Clogged Gutters? Install Gutter Guards And Keep Leaves Out If scraping decaying leaves out of your gutters is a job you hate, you should think about installing gutter guards. The guards keep leaves out of the troughs while allowing rain to seep in, so your gutters work as intended. While they don t make your gutters completely maintenance free, they do cut down on a lot of time and labor spent cleaning your gutters. Here are a few things to know. Different Types Of Gutter Guards You can buy different types of gutter guards. Some are screens of mesh or nylon that sit on top of the troughs. Others are curved like a dome, so leaves slide off. Some guards fit inside the gutters. They are like sponges or bristle brushes that allow water in, but keep leaves out. When choosing the type of guards to put on your gutters, consider how they will affect the appearance of your house. The most visible are the curved domes that sit on top of the troughs. ... It is always a good idea to inspect your gutters annually, and clean them if needed, to make sure they are working properly. A Beautiful Day In My Life Five more minutes, I groaned as I layed in my bed one cloudless Monday morning while my mom annoyingly stood in the doorway of my room, rapidly clapping her hands to wake me up. Me too, Lucas, my mother assured as I cleaned the alluring apple under the running faucet on the island, me too. I took a bite into the crisp golden apple. She asked, Ready for school? The human toll is also significant with a projected 8 million people to die every year by 2030. To combat these extreme statistics CVS Caremark, now CVS Health, has decided to make the hard business decision to stop selling tobacco products in all 7,700 of its drug stores. The decision stemmed from changing its image from a corner store that fills prescriptions to a health care company that is trying to reinvent the pharmacy to have a more supportive and active role in health care . To show support for the idea, petitions have been popping up on Change.com like the one by Michael Brochstein of New York, New York who is calling for other drug store giant Walgreens and its subsidiary Duane Read to follow in CVS s footsteps and stop selling tobacco products also. Proponents of the idea say that if these giants stop selling tobacco then regular purchasers will have to go elsewhere, making it less convenient and possibly making smokers move in the right direction, to quit smoking and hopefully curve the smoking rate as a whole. This is needed because although smoking has been on the decrease since the early 1990 s, recently getting to a low of 18% percent of white males being smokers, it is still an epidemic that kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car accidents, ... While change has the potential to amazing things, it also has the ability to turn things for the worse. A reduction in the age requirement for a student to drop out, for example. A change such as this would have an incredible potential to worsen the situation. There are pros and cons to every decision, regardless of the kind it is. However, in this case, the cons greatly outweigh the pros, enough so that one should tread carefully when coming to a decision. One of the many bad consequences that would occur should the dropout age be reduced is regret. Many students will drop out and realize how much of a mistake it was later in life, and feel that they should have let themselves be educated more. This is only a minor consequence, however, worth mentioning. It is also good to mention the effect it would have on our nation s overall education level. It s very possible that it would be greatly reduced. At age fourteen, the body and mind are still growing and adapting to the ever changing world. A political machine is system of political organization based on patronage, the spoils system, and political ties.
