Sophocles Aeschylus And Euripides
Sophocles is one of three Greek tragedians, Aeschylus and Euripides were the other two tragedians,
whose plays have still survived to this day. Sophocles was born around 497 BC and he died in 406
BC, making him almost 92 years old when he passed. This Greek Tragedian did not start off his career
in writing, instead he was chosen to lead the paean in a battle against the Persians. The Battle of
Salamis was a decisive victory for the Greek in that sea battle, but this would not be Sophocles first
victory. Sophocles took part in a Dionysian dramatic festival over 30 times where he produced nearly
123 dramas for this festival. Sophocles won 24 awards at this festival, in competition against
Aeschylus with 13 and Euripides who had 4, but is said

Cultural Differences In Islam, Judaism, And Christianity
All around the world, each year, believers of various religions come together to celebrate feasts,
commemorating a variety of topics and events. The religions of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are
three global religions around the world with their own belief systems and ethical morals. But despite
having these different beliefs, all three religions have their fair share of similarities and differences in
their celebrations, ranging from their method of celebration to the purpose of each feast. These
similarities and contrasts are seen in the feast reflection periods of Rosh Ha Shanah, Muharram, and
Lent, found in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity respectively, and is also seen in the global celebrations
of Chanukah, Eid al Fitr, and Christmas, also found in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity respectively.
Despite their differences in religion and beliefs, all three religions share some sort of feast that
highlights the importance of forgiveness and reflection on the past. For Judaism, it comes in the form
of the celebration of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite being celebrated at different times of the year, their methods of celebration remain similar
they all spend their times celebrating by spending time with their family, giving one another gifts, and
just enjoying their time with one another, reflecting on themselves and each other. The value of family
remains important amongst all three religions, despite their different belief systems, and what they
teach. The purpose of the Christian and Jewish feasts is to celebrate a sacred moment in their belief s
past. However, Eid al Fitr instead commemorates an event that occurred recently (their fasting during
Ramadan), not praising any historical event in particular. Thus, all three religions of Judaism, Islam,
and Christianity share both a likeness and differentiation regarding their global

Fahrenheit 451 Hands Quotes
Your Future Lies in Your Own Hands Aristotle once said, The hand is the tool of tools (Aristotle), his
theory is entirely valid. Hands truly are the most versatile machines, they can be utilized for a plethora
of activities. Most people in society today, however, choose not to exploit them for the betterment of
the world, those are the ones who will be forgotten. In Ray Bradbury s dystopian novel, Fahrenheit
451, the motif of hands is utilized as a way of depicting the contrast between the longevity of the
legacies of those who are idle and those who employ their hands for moral actions. The depiction of
hands belonging to those who obtain no desire to effect change is used to convey the self inflicted
harm which subsequently leads to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Montag that is introduced at the beginning of the novel seems quite similar to Mildred, while he
does manage to utilize his hands, they are only employed for cataclysmic purposes. Bradbury
describes Montag s hands as the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of
blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history (1). Montag seems to
exemplify destruction in this passage, his hands, however, are the enforcers, acting as a completely
separate organism. The Mechanical Hound, Mildred, and Montag s hands have all been described in
the same way; as being both alive and deceased, ironically all three objects with that connotation have
proven to be extraordinarily disastrous. As time progresses, and Montag manages to maintain control
over his own bodily functions, his actions become more positive. This change in him is provoked by
his realization of the importance that novels hold, Bradbury explains that his hands had been infected,
and soon it would be his arms. He could feel the poison working up his wrists and into his elbows and
his shoulders, and then the jump over from shoulder blade to shoulder blade like a spark leaping a gap.
His hands were ravenous (38). This is the turning point for Montag; he has been infected with his own
harsh reality. His hands have been affected and altered from the way they had been before;
independent and dominant. Montag is gaining control over his own actions, this is a metaphor for how
the government is losing its power over him now that he understands the truth. The less of a grip the
government has on Montag, the greater chance he has to create a legacy for himself. At the end of the
novel, after the decimation of the entire city, there is no longer a government to constrict Montag and
his ideas for

If you have ever traveled on an airplane before, you would be familiar with the Transportation
Security Administration, or more commonly known as the TSA. Founded in the aftermath of the
September 11 attacks initially under the Department of Transportation and later placed under the
Department of Homeland Security all in the name of making air travel safer for Americans. They are
most commonly known for making you take off your shoes, separate your liquids, and walk through
body scanners. Keep in mind that those are only the least invasive things that you may be subjected to
while passing under their watchful (or perhaps not so watchful) gaze. Many Americans will gladly
accept these invasions of privacy as a necessity on the path to safer travel for themselves and their
fellow travelers through thwarting potential terrorists. But the harsh reality of it is that the TSA does

agents watch out for particular patterns of body language that might indicate that somebody is
planning something malicious and apprehending them. However this supposed vital layer of security
has done nothing more than catch drug smugglers and other such criminals. (CITATION 3) Which is

Robber Barons Dbq
During the late 19th century, the industrial leaders were either characterized as robber barons or
industrial statesmen . The extent of this classification comes with the power of how they use their
leadership to better improve the economy of the United States. Although both groups impacted the
United States industrial economy, robber barons had the advantage because they applied their
technique to innovate American history. Robber Barons gave lower wages, built monopolies, provided
poor working conditions for the employees and didn t offer any working benefits. Industrial Statesmen
helped improve the economy, gave jobs, and donated money to charity. Both the Industrial Statesmen

they are also known to have great wealth, excel in business, improve the economy, and help the
charities. These Industrial Statesmen run efficient and very profitable businesses, and they gain
through hard work along with industriousness. Advancements in the economy is through the Industrial
Statesmen providing employment, good working environments, expanding the economy, and create
chances for the people. Andrew Carnegie is the most eminent Industrial Statesmen, he grew from
nothing to becoming so well known for expanding the economy along with innovating new business
strategies and improving the economy. Andrew Carnegie, Wealth , North American Review
(Document B), 1889, discusses how the wealthy are superior to everyone else and should use their
opulence to help the unfortunate. Carnegie was a strong believer of Social Darwinism, which is the
concept that persons are matter to the equal natural selection as vegetation and wildlife. Carnegie
thought that the more wealth one acquires establishes how intact a man is which means only the rich
men know how to uphold the oppression and advance in society. The author of this passage is neither
a Robber Baron nor an Industrial Statesmen, he is neutral. Weaver explains how trust can harm those
who are seen in extraordinary supremacy and are perceived as liabilities. He also discusses how to

An Overview of Target Costing
1
AN OVERVIEW OF TARGET COSTING
Introduction
Many managers often underestimate the power of target costing as a serious competitive tool. When
general managers read the word costing , they naturally assume it is a topic for their finance or
accounting staff. They miss the fact that target costing is really a systematic profit and cost
management process.
What Is Target Costing?
CAM I defines target costing as the maximum amount of cost that can be incurred on a product and
still earn the required profit margin from that product. This is captured by the equation
Target Cost = Price Profit
At first sight the equation appears to reverse the familiar cost plus price equal profit that many firms
use. However, behind the inversion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Together the two variables determine a market price for the product.
Setting prices for new models of existing products, such as this year s model of a video cassette
recorder (VCR), starts with the current prices. These prices are adjusted for the features added or
dropped. For example, assume we add to the new VCR the ability to view tapes in different formats
(NTSC, PAL and SECAM). Also assume that we delete an FM radio which was on the previous model
since it is not popular. The revised price may be set by taking the current price, adding the price that
customers are willing to pay for the multiple format feature and deleting from this price the value
customers place on the radio.
Setting prices for new products is not easy since there is no existing base to start from. Market
research becomes crucial for this type of product. Fanack, a Japanese company, uses a simple formula
that sets the price at a level that gives them a five year lead over their competitors. Another technique
is to use the prices for substitute products to develop an initial prices. For example, fiber optic cable
prices may form the basis for pricing satellite based communication links.

The profit target, the second variable in the target costing equation, is set relative to the financial rate
of return that a firm needs to stay viable in its industry. Since return on sales is part of the return on
investment formula, firms often use

Reflection On Interpersonal Communication
Reflection Paper I have taken Interpersonal Communication before during the summer 2016, but I
didn t pass it mainly because I wasn t as focused as I was in this class. Professor Castro just made it
fun. Her lectures and her stories made it interesting. Every Mondays and Wednesdays, I had three
classes. Interpersonal Communication would be my first class to start my day. Then two classes after
that. I ended up dropping those two classes. I was supposed to drop this class too but I didn t because I
wanted to learn more. I ve been in a relationship with my girlfriend for almost a year and one of the
problems we had was listening. Sometimes she wouldn t listen to me or I just wouldn t listen to her at
all. The day we had a lecture about listening in class, that same morning, we got in an argument about
how I don t listen to her. I always listen to her but not when we argue. I usually avoid her when we are
about to start arguing. I found it funny how the professor somehow knew I was in trouble with
listening and she decided to have a lecture on listening. Unlike a history class or a math class or even
reading class, this class actually helped me outside of school. I also learned that my professor is a
volunteer basically everywhere. She participates in marches whenever she can. Her age doesn t stop
her from making the community better and standing up for what she believes in. She is an inspiration.
She asked the class to volunteer somewhere for three hours which was pretty cool. I haven t had any
class in college where volunteering out in the community was a requirement. Because I had to
volunteer for a grade in class, I am now volunteering for the resist march in Los Angeles, June 11. I
wouldn t be going out to volunteer for this event if it weren t for this class. Knowing that my professor
goes to protests and marches at her age, she is truly an inspiration. I don t usually have time to go out
to marches anymore but seeing that she still does, I d want to participate more in the community. Now
only problem I had in this class was that I never really had my own seat. I moved to different seats
every time we had class. I felt very comfortable sitting in the back, but the professor doesn t like

Search Engine Optimization ( Seo )
A search engine is able to store and provide information about a specific webpage based upon a user s
search request. The deep web is a large portion of the entire World Wide Web (WWW) that has yet to
be analyzed and stored by a search engine. The deep web is believed to be approximately 92,000
Terabytes in size (Langville, 9) and it is known that most of this part of the web will never be
completely indexed by a search engine (Castillo, 3). In order to gather as much relevant information
from the web, search engines must be able to use different technologies and algorithms to make sense

In the marketing world, SEO refers to techniques and methods by which the structure and content of a
page can influence the ranking and relevance of a website (Killoran, 53). My paper will be assessing
SEO as it pertains to search engines in the improvement of technology and algorithms. Around eighty
percent of all initial visits to a webpage today are accessed through a type of search engine (Zhu, 225).
Of all the eighty percent of initial visits to a webpage that are referred by a search engine, seventy five
percent occur through Google (Zhu, 225). A user is eighty four percent more likely to never go beyond
the second page of a search result page (Zhu, 225), so it is important that search engines are optimized
to return back relevant results. One example of SEO would be the introduction of PageRank.
PageRank is a ranking algorithm that determines a page relevancy by calculating the number of
inbound and outbound links a web page experiences (Killoran, 53 54), this algorithm will be covered
later in the paper. Link analysis was first implemented and used in 1998 (Langville, 1998, 4), and uses
information embedded in a web page s link structure to draw ranking information. PageRank is
considered a link analysis algorithm (Xiang, 469). In order to get a better understanding of SEO, we
must first have a general concept of the different components that compose search engines. 3. Search

Consideration is given if the majority shareholder owns such a significant portion of the investee that
the minority shareholder has a small economic interest. The larger the disparity, the more likely these
are to be protective rights. In this situation, there is not a large disparity.
b. If the corporate governance arrangements states that decisions are made at the shareholder level,
these are likely to be substantive participating rights.
c. If matters can be put to a vote of the shareholders, these are most likely substantive participating
rights.
References:
ASC 810 10 25 5
Assessing whether the rights of a minority shareholder should overcome the presumption of
consolidation by the majority investor depends on whether the majority investor has control over the
corporation. Judging control depends on many factors, including if a minority investor has
participating or protective rights.
ASC 810 10 25 10 through 25 11
A minority investor that holds protective rights does take the control away from the majority investor
and the owner of the majority voting interest would need to consolidate with the corporation.
Substantive participating rights are granted by contract or by law. A minority investor that holds these
rights can participate in significant decisions that are made in the ordinary course of business,
including vetoing significant decisions proposed by the investor with the majority voting interest. If

For skis, use a mild soap and a sponge to get off any hardened dirt and rinse it all off. After wiping

Following the introduction of the new flavored coffee, there is need for coming up with a sales
strategy for increasing the sales of the new product. The strategy gives details on how the product will
reach the customers, and in the end, making them aware of the difference between the new product
line with the other products from the company. These strategies are necessary for improving the total
company sales, consequently increasing the profitability of the company. The strategy is also
necessary for the coming up with sales activities that position the flavored coffee to a state where it
can gain a competitive advantage in the market. The most appropriate sales strategy of choice for
meeting the sales objective of the company is the triple tiered sales strategy (Frain, 2009). Justification
of the recommendation The strategy is necessary for the establishment of a good relationship between
the wholesale clientele and the company. The association that the regional sales teams have with the

The Process and Factors of Wound Healing
Introduction
The skin, the biggest organ in the human body, has several vital functions, including sensation,
thermoregulation, protection and synthesis of vitamin D. Nurses would like to be knowledgeable
concerning what is thought of to be healthy skin (Pringle and Penzer2002). This is very important, as
the condition of the skin might typically be a sign of underlying disease (Casey 2002). Changes within
the skin may be one among the first indicators of an underlying health downside. Injury of either the
epidermis or the dermis can cause systemic infection, increased morbidity, increased value of care,
and negative psychosocial consequences (Schindler, Kuhn, Christopher, Conway, Ridling Simpson;
201one).
Wound healing is a dynamic, interactive method involving soluble mediators, blood cells, extracellular
matrix, and parenchymal cells. Wound healing has three phases: the inflammatory section, the
proliferative part, and the maturational or transforming phase. These phases could overlap in time
(Porth, 2011).
Inflammatory Phase
The inflammatory part starts at the time of injury with the formation of a blood clot and therefore the
migration of phagocytic white blood cells into the wound web site. The primary cells to arrive, the
neutrophils, ingest and take away bacteria and cellular debris. When twenty four hours, the neutrophils
are joined by macrophages, that still ingest cellular debris and play a necessary role in the production
of growth factors for the

What Is The Real Impact Of Geographical Factors On...
Research Design In examining the empirical data of post Communist reform, I hope to exhibit the real
impact of geographical factors on political and economic reform in an effort to abandon conventional
explanations of this discussion. My intent with this research is to introduce the notion that spatial
issues can be as much of a determinant of state behavior, as any other factor. This is not to prove that
certain explanations are better than others, but rather to underscore the validity in geographical
explanations; even if variables are not exclusively affiliated to the central subject of my study, they
can still hold powerful implications. My research design would organize a geographical positioning
variable (independent) against a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, Polity IV offers a much more detailed signal of change than most other indicators of
democracy. The data set ranges from 10 to +10, in which a Polity Score is determined through a
country s placement in one of three categories: autocracies ( 10 to 6), anocracies ( 5 to 5), and
democracies (6 to 10). In this, a 20 point measurement of political class is produced of each country,
every year. To measure economic reform, I chose the Index of Economic Freedom; an annual index
and ranking system created in 1995 through the Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal. This
particular tool evaluates countries on ten economic factors:
1. trade policy 6. property rights
2. taxation 7. banking
3. government intervention in the economy 8. wage and price controls
4. monetary policy 9. regulation
5. capital flows and foreign investment 10. black market
As a means of investigating principled governance I focused solely on the Economic Freedom
measures of trade policy, government intervention, and capital flows and foreign investment. I chose
only these indicators because I believe they provide thorough insight into the conjoining issues of post
Communist legacies and overall geographical access namely, how close they are to a body of water
large enough for ports. The scores for this computation are ranked as follows: Repressed (0 to 49.9),

Sigmund Freud Good Vs Evil
Sigmund Freud s theories of the unconscious mind focus on the dark aspects of fears and repressions
that plague an individual in childhood, and follow them unresolved into adulthood. Freud divides the
unconscious mind into a tri part; Id where our deepest desires lie, ego our conscious mind, and super
ego our moral guide based on our culture. Deconstructing the function of each tri part can seem
biased, especially with Freud s belief that women were inferior to men and people of color inferior to
all. Applying these concepts to the opposite gender and different race wasn t likely his top priority
especially in an equal playing field but, using the basic concepts could give a new perspective on these
excluded individuals, and the unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The existence of God Based on Religious Experience Essay
1. Examine the strengths and weaknesses of the argument for the existence of God based on religious
experience. (18) 2. The argument merely indicates the probability of God and this is of little value to a
religious believer. Discuss. (12)
In contrast to the classical arguments for the existence of God, namely the ontological, cosmological
and teleological arguments, the argument from religious experience doesn t just entail a set logical of
points arriving at a conclusion on a piece of paper, rather it also necessitates sense based experience,
tangible to the individual who experiences the divine.
First and foremost, we must classify the argument from religious experience.
In general, philosophical arguments usually take one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James lists four qualifiers of mystical experiences: ineffability (a state that defies description), noetic
quality (revelations of universal and eternal truths), transiency (a brief but profoundly important
experience) and passivity (a feeling of being taken over by a superior authority).
The father of liberal theology, Schleiermacher, made passivity the most important qualifier. He took
the concept a step further and proposed that the essence of religion is the feeling of absolute
dependence and this approach was supported by scholars such as Rudolf Otto, who defined religious
experience as wholly other .
For Schleiermacher, in particular, and, additionally, the Islamic mystic Al Ghazali, true religion was
completely experiential and it should therefore be felt rather than thought. He believed that logic
destroys religious experience because religious experience is a matter of intuitive knowledge, not
processed knowledge. Intuition is belief, where as logic creates doubts. In many spiritual systems
(religious or independent of religion) the human instinct is held in high regard. It was for this reason
that Iqbal, the late Islamic philosopher of the modern era, disagreed with Al Ghazali.
Religious experience is a very important concept for those who believe that way to know God is to
experience Him. There is a spiritual, mystical dimension to all the world religions in fact, the Eastern

Cord Blood Banking is now a huge epidemic nationally. What was once considered to be medical

accompany the banking cord blood. Many of these benefits include but are not limited to the treatment

Researchers have discovered that it is actually harder for adults to be treated with cord blood than
bone marrow. Children usually receive one unit of cord blood because their small bodies only need a
small amount. Adults however need more than the one unit of blood that children receive because their
bodies are so much bigger. According to eurostemcells.org there are serious complications of
receiveing to few of stem cells. A stem cell transplant containing not enough stem cells may fail or
could lead to slow creation of new blood in the body. Doctors have found that if they use two units of
cord blood, the transplant will work. When the cord blood is being collected, each newborn only can
provide one unit of blood, so when someone needs to receive more than one unit, doctors have to find
an almost identical match. There are also many controversies on whether or not cord blood should be
collected and banked. Many children s cord blood can t be used by the child who donated it. The cord
blood may be contaminated with cells that made that child sick. According to Parent s Magazine Both
the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Academy of

criticizing their marketing tactics. Instead, they recommended that parents donate cord blood to public

Power In Frankenstein
Is the Quest for Power Worth the Journey? Historian John Dalberg Acton once said, absolute power
corrupts absolutely (Figgins). This phenomenon is found in the novels Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde, and Twilight. In each of these works a protagonist is struggling with an antagonist, in some
cases an external foe, in others, himself. Dr. Jekyll, Carlisle and Dr. Frankenstein are each struggling
with the power they acquired as a result knowledge they obtained. While knowledge is an essential
trait most human beings search for, across these three novels it seems that the three protagonists
become progressively more corrupt with the knowledge they have achieved. In Stephanie Myer s
Twilight, the audience is quickly introduced to Dr. Carlisle Cullen, a vampire who creates a family for
himself by using vampirism. Myer leaves the reader questioning if Carlisle abuses his power and
knowledge to create his family out of loneliness. When Dr. Cullen first turns into a vampire, centuries
before the events of the book, he felt desperately alone. The reader learns, he dreamed of finding

Racism In The Brothers, By Louisa May Alcott
Louisa May Alcott s The Brothers, highlights the wickedness of slavery and the issue of racial
superiority through the depiction of Bob s story, which is told primarily through the narration of Miss
Dane. Through Miss Dane s interaction with Bob, one can deduce that she is rather complacent in the
quest against slavery and does little to break down the racial divide. In addition, Miss Dane claims
authority over Bob s identity right away, which prohibits Bob from attaining a sense of liberty and
merely continues the vicious cycle of oppression. Bob also exhibits signs of self hatred due to his
mixed race, finding it difficult to identify with neither blacks nor whites. The nation s current racial
conflict also makes it difficult for Miss Dane to escape prejudice herself, which Alcott conveys
through Miss Dane s attitude toward Bob s behavior. Although Robert escapes slavery, it becomes
rather difficult for him to escape prejudice. Alcott condemns Miss Dane s actions in The Brothers,
because of the way she claims ownership over Bob, which consequently prohibits Robert from
claiming an identity of his own. Upon meeting Bob for the first time, Miss Dane immediately claims
authority over him by choosing a name that she deems acceptable. The narrator asserts, This Bob

Our vacation started with what seemed like a week of packing when in reality it was only a day or

excited for the trip to come. It started with a long drive through Nebraska stopping at night to set up
camp and get some sleep. We were all exhausted and slept like rocks. The next morning we made
breakfast and got to driving again. As always, we stopped at various parks and rest stops to get out and
look around. That afternoon we were in dire need of showers and couldn t seem to find a campsite that
offered showers. We searched through what seemed like a thousand campgrounds. My mom and I had
pretty much given up looking at this point and were ready to resort to bucket baths. When we pulled
into the campsite it turned out to be a rather pleasant campground. There was plenty of privacy, flat
ground, trees, and of course a shower. My mom and I also were pleasantly surprised to find that the
showers were also free. While there was still daylight. We got a fire going set up our tents and looked
around a bit. When we were finally ready we all went and bathed in the glorious creation of soap and
hot running water cascading on our heads and bodies. The next day we got up, packed up our stuff,

Forbidden Knowledge In Dr. Faustus And The Machine Stops
The concept of forbidden knowledge is merely a blockade to what lies beyond the wider scope of
human experience. Thus, forbidden knowledge as we know it is nothing more than a liability to the
harsh reality of life. In the case of Never Let Me Go, forbidden knowledge is present in that Kathy is
truly unaware of what life has in store for her. She does not understand the restrictions of her life, nor
how vital her physical body is to the donations of humanity. With that said, the theme of forbidden
knowledge is also present in Dr. Faustus, and The Machine Stops, for the characters in both novels are
equally intent on comprehending what lies beyond their physical realms. While the concept of
forbidden knowledge is present throughout the diverse works of literature, it is also present in my own
life. Not only has forbidden knowledge sparked an interest in my ability to surpass milestones, but it
has also altered my perception of the world as well. Having considered that each of the three novels
depicts the concept of forbidden knowledge, it is quite evident that forbidden knowledge is something
that humans are constantly pursuing.
At any rate, Never Let Me Go, by Kazuo Ishiguro outlines the notion of forbidden knowledge in that
Kathy, Tommy, and Ruth, are all unaware of how detrimental their livelihood is to the well being of
humanity. Throughout the novel, there is a constant feeling of uncertainty, in which the clones are

Fire Ground Exercises At The Fire Service Area
I contemplate one of the most important training items in the fire service area that we need to focus on
is authentic fire ground exercises. Fire ground training are drills that reflect real time circumstances on

teamwork on the emergency scene. Furthermore, in the past quite a few of my training drills came
from the International Fire Service Training Association manual or similar resources. While I do

In the Fire service, we have available plenty of basic drills we can train on daily to better ourselves. It
seems everyone is trying specialized training, which needed, and forgets to master few of our more
tedious items and commonplace Page 8b functions. A number of of these would incorporate pump
operations, hose line advancement, fire ground operations. Consequently, the drills we do should be
more than by the numbers drills, they should be operations that imitate what we will do at the
emergency scene. They should be our bread and butter drills that we must get correct, every time.
These drills must emulate what we do on the fire ground as a department. The goal should be training
that becomes a common reaction and not a focus on what we remember as a one, two, three process.
Therefore, an example of a drill that I have used at my department for training is a firefighter calling a

the extremely high risk associated with a mayday. The first part of the drill was a review of our

recognizing your need of calling a mayday, and then actually calling the mayday. I had fourteen of our

Validity of the Fama French Three Factor Model in China during 2011 2015

To maximizing the interest of the investment, it depends on the information capture capability of
investors in the stock market. Most investors in China start their investments without enough
knowledge about the operating of stock market. They just follow what the most people do. If things
continue in this way, economic bubble may occur. Therefore, it is particularly important for investors
to get a general knowledge about the core of stock market.
Over the past few decades, economists were continually developing a variety of asset pricing models.
The first and the most important model is called Capital Assets Pricing Model, which was developed
by William Sharpe, John Lintner and Jack Treynor (1964). It is based on the theory of composition
and capitalization, which discussed the expected return and the relationship between risky assets in
stock market. And now, Capital Asset Pricing Models becomes the pillar of multiple asset pricing
models, and widely use in investment.
However, since the 1970s, foreign economists began to do a lot of empirical research, specially in
American capital market, which is able to provide a mature financial environment for the Capital
Asset Pricing Model. Nevertheless, in 1980, there have been lots of negative verification results,
economists started to discuss the Capital Asset Pricing Model, sometimes, it can not reasonably
explain in stock market. In 1992, Fama and French (1992) considered

Some of these types include marble, stone, and bronze sculptures. Many ancient civilizations built

The Movie Out There and Advertising of Canadian Beer
In today s market of technology and visual stimulation it becomes more and more important for
advertising campaigns to stand out and be innovative, and it is this idea that drove one Canadian beer
company to do something that had never been done before. In light of waning interest, Kokanee,
owned by the Labatt Brewing Company, enlisted the help of Toronto based Grip advertising agency to

innovative response to this challenge was to do something completely new and create an ad in the

The Movie Out There is a ninety minute Canadian indie film created as an entertaining alternative to

Mozart Effect
Mozart Effect
The Mozart effect has two general definitions. Firstly, it is a set of research results that indicate that
listening to Mozart s music may induce a short term improvement on the performance of certain kinds
of mental tasks known as spatial temporal reasoning . And also it is popularized versions of the theory,
which suggest that listening to Mozart makes you smarter , or that early childhood exposure to
classical music has a beneficial effect on mental development.
The term was first found by Alfred A. Tomatis who used Mozart s music as the listening stimulus in
his work attempting to cure a variety of disorders. The approach has been popularized in a book by
Don Campbell. It is based on an experiment published in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, music has been evaluated to see if it has other properties. The April 2001 edition of
Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine assessed the possible health benefits of the music of Mozart.
John Jenkins played Sonata K.448 to patients with epilepsy and found a decrease in epileptiform
activity. According to the British Epilepsy Organization, research has suggested that apart from
Mozart s K.448 and Piano Concerto No. 23, only one other piece of music has been found to have a
similar effect; a song by the Greek composer Yanni, entitled Acroyali/Standing in Motion . It was
determined to have the Mozart effect , by the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine because it was
similar to Mozart s K.448 in tempo, structure, melodic and harmonic consonance and predictability.
I found some information from Rocky Mountain News. Their program was called Music a sound
contribution to healing about good Samaritan taking cacophony out of hospital care, made by Samean
Yun in May 31, 2005.
The sound of a loon, native to New Hampshire, is coming from what appear to be rocks in front of
Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center, sitting in the middle of the rolling Colorado plains. It s
perhaps incongruous, but the sound makes visitors feel as if they re inside a peaceful forest. Don
Campbell, whom we are already known about as the author of the best selling book The Mozart
Effect¨, has put together a library of world music to play at select

Grendel Vs Beowulf Essay
When looking at Beowulf and Grendel, one perceives them in different ways when reading different
versions of the story of Beowulf. Each character goes through the same or similar actions they had
gone through in other versions but they are either shown as a hero or a villain depending on the writer
s opinions, beliefs, and lifestyle. The Beowulf poem displays a more compelling argument for
Beowulf by eloquently wording his actions and words, diligently staying on topic, and constantly
showing Beowulf under the same lime light throughout the poem. Beowulf is the main focus of the
piece and the characters introduced assist his cause as a hero. They did use methods that could have
potentially harmed his cause but Beowulf used them to prove his enemies among the Thanes wrong.
Unferth, sick with envy, did boast over how Beowulf had took on Breca in a swimming match on the
open sea, however Beowulf used the argument to his advantage by saying he had finished off the sea
beasts that had attempted to kill Beowulf after he was driven away from Breca by the waves (Beowulf
lines 502, 506 507, 558). Characters overall helped his cause even though they might have tried to kill
him and his cause, for he prevailed in the end and defeated Grendel in ... Show more content on

He stays true to his boasts though the poem; he defeated Grendel and other threats that were posed to
him. Beowulf didn t stray away from the main quest of the story either; Beowulf completed his task
and tore Grendel s entire arm at the shoulder, his awesome grasp (Grendel 172 and Beowulf line 835).
If he had originally assisted others before Grendel, then the poem would have mentioned something.
However, this version is still effective because it got straight to the point. The fight he did have with
Grendel is incredibly short, but nevertheless, shows his heroism and proves him as a hero to the
vikings through his boasts, actions, words, and

Maxine Kingston s No Name Woman
Learn from the Stories
Having two considerably different cultures can cause a strife with one s identity. In No Name Woman,
Maxine Kingston s mother tells her a story of her aunt that committed adultery which therefore led to
her segregation from her own family and villagers. Kingston s mother asserts that the story should not
be told by anyone and the story s purpose was to strike fear in her daughter. Then, Kingston explores
the different scenarios that could have led to her aunt s suppressed suicide. Through the use of
characterization of her aunt s desolation, animated imagery and diction, Kingston demonstrates the
difficulty of finding an identity when different cultures conflict with each other.

Her mother goes on saying, ...[They] began slaughtering our stock... the animals scream their
deaths...Some of the faces stopped to peer at us... the hands flattened against the panes... and left red
prints (448). Kingston s mother describes the cries of the animals as they die and how the villagers left
blood handprints on the windows as they peered into it. Such ominous description of the raid would be
effective in striking fear. The aunt committing adultery is a situation alone not at all acceptable in
Kingston s Chinese culture, but the consequences of her aunt s mistake were blown out of proportion.
Kingston begins to feel conflicted with her identity because in America, committing adultery does not
create such calamity between the surrounding people but both her American and Chinese culture know
that it is a shameful act. She feels confused because the act of adultery would be handled in a
completely different way with different cultures. Kingston description of the aunt and newborn
illustrates their invisibility to the memories of the family. Kingston portrays her aunt s baby as, the
little ghost, (456) and ghostlike (456). As Kingston describes the aunt giving birth as her last
responsibility, she adds that the baby has become this new nobody and has no purpose to the family
just like the aunt. Ghosts are already recognized as something invisible and that is exactly how the
aunt and the

The Role Of Blindness In Oedipus The King
The word blindness can be used thematically and literally; thematically being someone can be
ignorant or oblivious to see the truth or world around them, and in a literal sense it means that a person
is physically blind. In Oedipus the King by Sophocles the role of blindness literally and thematically is
used to show how the character Oedipus is oblivious to see the truth in his life is like Donald Trump,
America s forty fifth president, on his views of climate change. Donald Trump is blinded by the fact
that climate change is a real problem and in his mind the crazy weather is just the weather itself acting
up. The author, Sophocles, of the play Oedipus the King, portrays the word blindness in two ironic
ways. Though before the reader learns about this they must understand the purpose of why Sophocles
used blindness , the author is trying to teach his audience to see clearly more around them, rather than
being ignorant around the world that is around them. Oedipus, the main focus of the play, is seen blind
in an important part of the play, when his wife, Jocasta, or later to be found out as his mom, finds out
that the person she married is her son, and that she had, had children with him, so in the end she hangs
herself, his wife was blind at the start just like her son, but now she sees that the fate of Oedipus was
to come true. In summation of Oedipus fate that the ancient Greeks believed in very well, once
Oedipus was born his fate in his life was to kill

Chipotle Mexican Grill Essay
The purpose of the case study is to evaluate the waiting line queue at Chipotle Mexican Grill and
analyze balking and reneging and how that affects future sales of the company. Chipotle Mexican Grill
has been open for 24 years. Steve Ells CEO and founder opened the first store in Denver, Colorado.
Chipotle currently has 2,250 stores and is the second largest Mexican restaurant chain in the United
States following Taco Bell. When they first opened their motto was simply; show that food served fast
didn t have to be a fast food experience . They wanted to provide high quality food for customers that
could be prepared and served rather quickly. They strive to have a fast turnover rate in which data has
shown that the most popular Chipotle stores welcome over 300 ... Show more content on

But, if you look at Mcdonald s cap that is taking into account that they operate nearly 30 times more
restaurant locations than Chipotle does. The ordering process at your local Chipotle is divided up into
five different stations if you will. First you pick a burrito, bowl or tacos from the first station and then
you move to the second station where you have your choice of rice along with several different
choices of meats. Then at the third station you can pick between your different salsas and salad
toppings, which then leads to the second to last station which is the packaging and pricing options.
Finally, the last station in the line is paying for your meal with either cash or debit/credit card. Since
there are five different stations that are all dependent upon each other; there comes times during
lunch/dinner rushes where the line can backup or slow down tremendously. One of the issues that
results from long waiting lines is the lost in sales revenue from customers who are turned away from
the restaurant due to long wait

Antigone Vs Creon
The production of Antigone by Company B reviewed by Peta Tait is correct in multiple instances even
though the production has an incorrect central conflict. Company B s production is correct when Tait
explains how it portrays why Creon did not bury Polyneices body and just left it out to the animals
instead (71). The production is also correct when implying why Creon treats Antigone and Ismene
badly as if they have the dignity of animals (73). By looking at Sophocles Antigone, it portrays Creon
of having the same understanding of Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene too (Sophocles ?). This is why
I have no issues with these parts in Company B s production. However, Tait also mentions the focus of
the production are these actions by Creon which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason for this is that it is more controversial. Creon does not receive a lot of support or is looked
at as a role model from readers when he treats Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene like animals. Most
people would agree that it is not good to disregard a person enough to let his dead body rot with the
animals and to call women snakes and leeches (Tait 73). The controversial issue that should be the
central conflict is whether Antigone should have buried her brother even though she rebels against
authority to doing so. This conflict can result in more disagreement than Creon s treatment towards
Polyneices and the women for a few reasons. At the time Antigone was written, there was a negative
outlook on women. They were not seen as people who should have the same rights as men, much less
to act against any authority. This outlook is seen when Ismene demonstrations how women do not
disobey authority by disagreeing with Antigone s decision to bury Polyneices (Sophocles 708). Even
though most readers would agree that it was not good that women were treated less than humans when
Sophocles wrote Antigone, they can still be disagreement when Antigone went against the law. While
Tait notes that Haemon says to Creon that anyone would have done what Antigone did if they had a
relative fed to the crows, I disagree. (Tait 73). Some people may reject what Antigone did

  • 4. Fahrenheit 451 Hands Quotes Your Future Lies in Your Own Hands Aristotle once said, The hand is the tool of tools (Aristotle), his theory is entirely valid. Hands truly are the most versatile machines, they can be utilized for a plethora of activities. Most people in society today, however, choose not to exploit them for the betterment of the world, those are the ones who will be forgotten. In Ray Bradbury s dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451, the motif of hands is utilized as a way of depicting the contrast between the longevity of the legacies of those who are idle and those who employ their hands for moral actions. The Montag that is introduced at the beginning of the novel seems quite similar to Mildred, while he does manage to utilize his hands, they are only employed for cataclysmic purposes. Bradbury describes Montag s hands as the hands of some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history (1). Montag seems to exemplify destruction in this passage, his hands, however, are the enforcers, acting as a completely separate organism. The Mechanical Hound, Mildred, and Montag s hands have all been described in the same way; as being both alive and deceased, ironically all three objects with that connotation have proven to be extraordinarily disastrous. As time progresses, and Montag manages to maintain control over his own bodily functions, his actions become more positive. This change in him is provoked by his realization of the importance that novels hold, Bradbury explains that his hands had been infected, and soon it would be his arms. He could feel the poison working up his wrists and into his elbows and his shoulders, and then the jump over from shoulder blade to shoulder blade like a spark leaping a gap. His hands were ravenous (38). This is the turning point for Montag; he has been infected with his own harsh reality. His hands have been affected and altered from the way they had been before; independent and dominant. Montag is gaining control over his own actions, this is a metaphor for how the government is losing its power over him now that he understands the truth. The less of a grip the government has on Montag, the greater chance he has to create a legacy for himself. At the end of the novel, after the decimation of the entire city, there is no longer a government to constrict Montag and his ideas for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When general managers read the word costing , they naturally assume it is a topic for their finance or accounting staff. They miss the fact that target costing is really a systematic profit and cost management process. What Is Target Costing? CAM I defines target costing as the maximum amount of cost that can be incurred on a product and still earn the required profit margin from that product. This is captured by the equation Target Cost = Price Profit At first sight the equation appears to reverse the familiar cost plus price equal profit that many firms use. However, behind the inversion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Together the two variables determine a market price for the product. Setting prices for new models of existing products, such as this year s model of a video cassette recorder (VCR), starts with the current prices. These prices are adjusted for the features added or dropped. For example, assume we add to the new VCR the ability to view tapes in different formats (NTSC, PAL and SECAM). Also assume that we delete an FM radio which was on the previous model since it is not popular. The revised price may be set by taking the current price, adding the price that customers are willing to pay for the multiple format feature and deleting from this price the value customers place on the radio. Setting prices for new products is not easy since there is no existing base to start from. Market research becomes crucial for this type of product. Fanack, a Japanese company, uses a simple formula that sets the price at a level that gives them a five year lead over their competitors. Another technique is to use the prices for substitute products to develop an initial prices. For example, fiber optic cable prices may form the basis for pricing satellite based communication links. 3 The profit target, the second variable in the target costing equation, is set relative to the financial rate of return that a firm needs to stay viable in its industry. • 11. Reflection On Interpersonal Communication Reflection Paper I have taken Interpersonal Communication before during the summer 2016, but I didn t pass it mainly because I wasn t as focused as I was in this class. Professor Castro just made it fun. Her lectures and her stories made it interesting. Every Mondays and Wednesdays, I had three classes. Interpersonal Communication would be my first class to start my day. Then two classes after that. I ended up dropping those two classes. I was supposed to drop this class too but I didn t because I wanted to learn more. I ve been in a relationship with my girlfriend for almost a year and one of the problems we had was listening. Sometimes she wouldn t listen to me or I just wouldn t listen to her at all. The day we had a lecture about listening in class, that same morning, we got in an argument about how I don t listen to her. I always listen to her but not when we argue. I usually avoid her when we are about to start arguing. I found it funny how the professor somehow knew I was in trouble with listening and she decided to have a lecture on listening. Unlike a history class or a math class or even reading class, this class actually helped me outside of school. I also learned that my professor is a volunteer basically everywhere. She participates in marches whenever she can. Her age doesn t stop her from making the community better and standing up for what she believes in. She is an inspiration. She asked the class to volunteer somewhere for three hours which was pretty cool. I haven t had any class in college where volunteering out in the community was a requirement. Because I had to volunteer for a grade in class, I am now volunteering for the resist march in Los Angeles, June 11. I wouldn t be going out to volunteer for this event if it weren t for this class. Knowing that my professor goes to protests and marches at her age, she is truly an inspiration. I don t usually have time to go out to marches anymore but seeing that she still does, I d want to participate more in the community. Now only problem I had in this class was that I never really had my own seat. I moved to different seats every time we had class. In the marketing world, SEO refers to techniques and methods by which the structure and content of a page can influence the ranking and relevance of a website (Killoran, 53). My paper will be assessing SEO as it pertains to search engines in the improvement of technology and algorithms. Around eighty percent of all initial visits to a webpage today are accessed through a type of search engine (Zhu, 225). Of all the eighty percent of initial visits to a webpage that are referred by a search engine, seventy five percent occur through Google (Zhu, 225). A user is eighty four percent more likely to never go beyond the second page of a search result page (Zhu, 225), so it is important that search engines are optimized to return back relevant results. One example of SEO would be the introduction of PageRank. PageRank is a ranking algorithm that determines a page relevancy by calculating the number of inbound and outbound links a web page experiences (Killoran, 53 54), this algorithm will be covered later in the paper. Link analysis was first implemented and used in 1998 (Langville, 1998, 4), and uses information embedded in a web page s link structure to draw ranking information. • 22. The Process and Factors of Wound Healing Introduction The skin, the biggest organ in the human body, has several vital functions, including sensation, thermoregulation, protection and synthesis of vitamin D. Nurses would like to be knowledgeable concerning what is thought of to be healthy skin (Pringle and Penzer2002). This is very important, as the condition of the skin might typically be a sign of underlying disease (Casey 2002). Changes within the skin may be one among the first indicators of an underlying health downside. Injury of either the epidermis or the dermis can cause systemic infection, increased morbidity, increased value of care, and negative psychosocial consequences (Schindler, Kuhn, Christopher, Conway, Ridling Simpson; 201one). Wound healing is a dynamic, interactive method involving soluble mediators, blood cells, extracellular matrix, and parenchymal cells. Wound healing has three phases: the inflammatory section, the proliferative part, and the maturational or transforming phase. These phases could overlap in time (Porth, 2011). Inflammatory Phase The inflammatory part starts at the time of injury with the formation of a blood clot and therefore the migration of phagocytic white blood cells into the wound web site. The primary cells to arrive, the neutrophils, ingest and take away bacteria and cellular debris. When twenty four hours, the neutrophils are joined by macrophages, that still ingest cellular debris and play a necessary role in the production of growth factors for the ... Research Design In examining the empirical data of post Communist reform, I hope to exhibit the real impact of geographical factors on political and economic reform in an effort to abandon conventional explanations of this discussion. My intent with this research is to introduce the notion that spatial issues can be as much of a determinant of state behavior, as any other factor. This is not to prove that certain explanations are better than others, but rather to underscore the validity in geographical explanations; even if variables are not exclusively affiliated to the central subject of my study, they can still hold powerful implications. Sigmund Freud Good Vs Evil Sigmund Freud s theories of the unconscious mind focus on the dark aspects of fears and repressions that plague an individual in childhood, and follow them unresolved into adulthood. Freud divides the unconscious mind into a tri part; Id where our deepest desires lie, ego our conscious mind, and super ego our moral guide based on our culture. Deconstructing the function of each tri part can seem biased, especially with Freud s belief that women were inferior to men and people of color inferior to all. The father of liberal theology, Schleiermacher, made passivity the most important qualifier. He took the concept a step further and proposed that the essence of religion is the feeling of absolute dependence and this approach was supported by scholars such as Rudolf Otto, who defined religious experience as wholly other . For Schleiermacher, in particular, and, additionally, the Islamic mystic Al Ghazali, true religion was completely experiential and it should therefore be felt rather than thought. He believed that logic destroys religious experience because religious experience is a matter of intuitive knowledge, not processed knowledge. Intuition is belief, where as logic creates doubts. Dr. Jekyll, Carlisle and Dr. Frankenstein are each struggling with the power they acquired as a result knowledge they obtained. While knowledge is an essential trait most human beings search for, across these three novels it seems that the three protagonists become progressively more corrupt with the knowledge they have achieved. • 33. Racism In The Brothers, By Louisa May Alcott Louisa May Alcott s The Brothers, highlights the wickedness of slavery and the issue of racial superiority through the depiction of Bob s story, which is told primarily through the narration of Miss Dane. Through Miss Dane s interaction with Bob, one can deduce that she is rather complacent in the quest against slavery and does little to break down the racial divide. In addition, Miss Dane claims authority over Bob s identity right away, which prohibits Bob from attaining a sense of liberty and merely continues the vicious cycle of oppression. Bob also exhibits signs of self hatred due to his mixed race, finding it difficult to identify with neither blacks nor whites. The nation s current racial conflict also makes it difficult for Miss Dane to escape prejudice herself, which Alcott conveys through Miss Dane s attitude toward Bob s behavior. Although Robert escapes slavery, it becomes rather difficult for him to escape prejudice. Alcott condemns Miss Dane s actions in The Brothers, because of the way she claims ownership over Bob, which consequently prohibits Robert from claiming an identity of his own. It was determined to have the Mozart effect , by the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine because it was similar to Mozart s K.448 in tempo, structure, melodic and harmonic consonance and predictability. I found some information from Rocky Mountain News. Their program was called Music a sound contribution to healing about good Samaritan taking cacophony out of hospital care, made by Samean Yun in May 31, 2005. The sound of a loon, native to New Hampshire, is coming from what appear to be rocks in front of Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center, sitting in the middle of the rolling Colorado plains. It s perhaps incongruous, but the sound makes visitors feel as if they re inside a peaceful forest. Don Campbell, whom we are already known about as the author of the best selling book The Mozart Effect¨, has put together a library of world music to play at select ... • 42. Grendel Vs Beowulf Essay When looking at Beowulf and Grendel, one perceives them in different ways when reading different versions of the story of Beowulf. Each character goes through the same or similar actions they had gone through in other versions but they are either shown as a hero or a villain depending on the writer s opinions, beliefs, and lifestyle. The Beowulf poem displays a more compelling argument for Beowulf by eloquently wording his actions and words, diligently staying on topic, and constantly showing Beowulf under the same lime light throughout the poem. Beowulf is the main focus of the piece and the characters introduced assist his cause as a hero. They did use methods that could have potentially harmed his cause but Beowulf used them to prove his enemies among the Thanes wrong. Unferth, sick with envy, did boast over how Beowulf had took on Breca in a swimming match on the open sea, however Beowulf used the argument to his advantage by saying he had finished off the sea beasts that had attempted to kill Beowulf after he was driven away from Breca by the waves (Beowulf lines 502, 506 507, 558). Characters overall helped his cause even though they might have tried to kill him and his cause, for he prevailed in the end and defeated Grendel in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He stays true to his boasts though the poem; he defeated Grendel and other threats that were posed to him. Beowulf didn t stray away from the main quest of the story either; Beowulf completed his task and tore Grendel s entire arm at the shoulder, his awesome grasp (Grendel 172 and Beowulf line 835). If he had originally assisted others before Grendel, then the poem would have mentioned something. However, this version is still effective because it got straight to the point. The fight he did have with Grendel is incredibly short, but nevertheless, shows his heroism and proves him as a hero to the vikings through his boasts, actions, words, and ... • 43. Maxine Kingston s No Name Woman Learn from the Stories Having two considerably different cultures can cause a strife with one s identity. In No Name Woman, Maxine Kingston s mother tells her a story of her aunt that committed adultery which therefore led to her segregation from her own family and villagers. Kingston s mother asserts that the story should not be told by anyone and the story s purpose was to strike fear in her daughter. Then, Kingston explores the different scenarios that could have led to her aunt s suppressed suicide. Through the use of characterization of her aunt s desolation, animated imagery and diction, Kingston demonstrates the difficulty of finding an identity when different cultures conflict with each other. Her mother goes on saying, ...[They] began slaughtering our stock... the animals scream their deaths...Some of the faces stopped to peer at us... the hands flattened against the panes... and left red prints (448). Kingston s mother describes the cries of the animals as they die and how the villagers left blood handprints on the windows as they peered into it. Such ominous description of the raid would be effective in striking fear. The aunt committing adultery is a situation alone not at all acceptable in Kingston s Chinese culture, but the consequences of her aunt s mistake were blown out of proportion. Kingston begins to feel conflicted with her identity because in America, committing adultery does not create such calamity between the surrounding people but both her American and Chinese culture know that it is a shameful act. She feels confused because the act of adultery would be handled in a completely different way with different cultures. Kingston description of the aunt and newborn illustrates their invisibility to the memories of the family. Kingston portrays her aunt s baby as, the little ghost, (456) and ghostlike (456). As Kingston describes the aunt giving birth as her last responsibility, she adds that the baby has become this new nobody and has no purpose to the family just like the aunt. Ghosts are already recognized as something invisible and that is exactly how the aunt and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Role Of Blindness In Oedipus The King The word blindness can be used thematically and literally; thematically being someone can be ignorant or oblivious to see the truth or world around them, and in a literal sense it means that a person is physically blind. In Oedipus the King by Sophocles the role of blindness literally and thematically is used to show how the character Oedipus is oblivious to see the truth in his life is like Donald Trump, America s forty fifth president, on his views of climate change. Donald Trump is blinded by the fact that climate change is a real problem and in his mind the crazy weather is just the weather itself acting up. The author, Sophocles, of the play Oedipus the King, portrays the word blindness in two ironic ways. Though before the reader learns about this they must understand the purpose of why Sophocles used blindness , the author is trying to teach his audience to see clearly more around them, rather than being ignorant around the world that is around them. Oedipus, the main focus of the play, is seen blind in an important part of the play, when his wife, Jocasta, or later to be found out as his mom, finds out that the person she married is her son, and that she had, had children with him, so in the end she hangs herself, his wife was blind at the start just like her son, but now she sees that the fate of Oedipus was to come true. In summation of Oedipus fate that the ancient Greeks believed in very well, once Oedipus was born his fate in his life was to kill ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Chipotle Mexican Grill Essay The purpose of the case study is to evaluate the waiting line queue at Chipotle Mexican Grill and analyze balking and reneging and how that affects future sales of the company. Chipotle Mexican Grill has been open for 24 years. Steve Ells CEO and founder opened the first store in Denver, Colorado. Chipotle currently has 2,250 stores and is the second largest Mexican restaurant chain in the United States following Taco Bell. When they first opened their motto was simply; show that food served fast didn t have to be a fast food experience . They wanted to provide high quality food for customers that could be prepared and served rather quickly. But, if you look at Mcdonald s cap that is taking into account that they operate nearly 30 times more restaurant locations than Chipotle does. The ordering process at your local Chipotle is divided up into five different stations if you will. First you pick a burrito, bowl or tacos from the first station and then you move to the second station where you have your choice of rice along with several different choices of meats. Then at the third station you can pick between your different salsas and salad toppings, which then leads to the second to last station which is the packaging and pricing options. Finally, the last station in the line is paying for your meal with either cash or debit/credit card. Since there are five different stations that are all dependent upon each other; there comes times during lunch/dinner rushes where the line can backup or slow down tremendously. One of the issues that results from long waiting lines is the lost in sales revenue from customers who are turned away from the restaurant due to long wait ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Antigone Vs Creon The production of Antigone by Company B reviewed by Peta Tait is correct in multiple instances even though the production has an incorrect central conflict. Company B s production is correct when Tait explains how it portrays why Creon did not bury Polyneices body and just left it out to the animals instead (71). The production is also correct when implying why Creon treats Antigone and Ismene badly as if they have the dignity of animals (73). By looking at Sophocles Antigone, it portrays Creon of having the same understanding of Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene too (Sophocles ?). This is why I have no issues with these parts in Company B s production. However, Tait also mentions the focus of the production are these actions by Creon which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for this is that it is more controversial. Creon does not receive a lot of support or is looked at as a role model from readers when he treats Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene like animals. Most people would agree that it is not good to disregard a person enough to let his dead body rot with the animals and to call women snakes and leeches (Tait 73). The controversial issue that should be the central conflict is whether Antigone should have buried her brother even though she rebels against authority to doing so. This conflict can result in more disagreement than Creon s treatment towards Polyneices and the women for a few reasons. At the time Antigone was written, there was a negative outlook on women. They were not seen as people who should have the same rights as men, much less to act against any authority. This outlook is seen when Ismene demonstrations how women do not disobey authority by disagreeing with Antigone s decision to bury Polyneices (Sophocles 708). Even though most readers would agree that it was not good that women were treated less than humans when Sophocles wrote Antigone, they can still be disagreement when Antigone went against the law. While Tait notes that Haemon says to Creon that anyone would have done what Antigone did if they had a relative fed to the crows, I disagree. (Tait 73). Some people may reject what Antigone did ...
