Professional Athletes Are Not Above The Law
Often times, professional athletes are role models and revered heavily by the media, franchise, and the
organization that the athlete performs for. However, to see a pro athlete fall and suffer due to
accusations and evidence brought against them is a very serious issue. There have been so many past
court cases where professional athletes have had to pay for their actions against their organization or
against society. Athletes are not above the law, but they are generally portrayed to be seen above the
law because of their financial success. Based on past court cases, professional athletes are not above
the law because they are simply still people that make mistakes. Also, athletes are not the exception to
the law. They have to follow the rules of society just like everyone else. Finally, professional athletes
are not above the law because they have a reputation to up hold. They are sometimes being watched
by millions of people on national television. Professional athletes are still people that have made
mistakes in the past. There is no professional athlete that does not wish that he or she did not make the
mistake that was made. A great example would be NFL Running Back Adrian Peterson of the
Minnesota Vikings. The article discusses how Peterson had punished his 4 year old son with a switch
bare bottom. Peterson had admitted that he had beaten his son enough for him to draw blood. The
court had declared this as child abuse against Peterson. Although, Peterson had defended

How Does Media Affect Body Image
Body image is how a person feels about their physical appearance. Someone with a negative body
image has a distorted view of his or her body and often feels shame, anxiety and are more likely to
suffer from low self esteem and depression. People with a poor body image have a greater chance of
developing an eating disorder. Which then can lead to drastic changes of their bodies using dangerous
methods such as plastic surgeries and severe eating disorders in order to meet societal ideals. Today
people feel that present ideals are pressuring them to conform, in any way possible to get the ideal
body, these pressures cause body dissatisfaction and self esteem issues. The media is causing body
image issues due to the lack of diversity and realistic body representation, when exposed to western
media young people are more likely to have eating disorders, participate in fad diets, or drastically
change their bodies with plastic surgeries. The ideal woman s body type has taken many forms, but
these fads show that ideals change with the eras. These ideals are directly influenced by society, art
and media. When trends changed it typically was replaced by thinner body shapes causing the
introduction of methods of weight controls. Before Photoshop, women in the late 1800s used to corset
their bodies to get the ideal shape, which then was fuller figured but a ridiculously tight corseted
waists. During this time, another female body image was the Gibson girl a soft, supple, dainty female
with a frame defined by a corset. The Gibson girl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Kinetics
Section 1:
Kinetics is the study of the rate of chemical processes. The kinetics of the reaction between crystal
violet and NaOH was studied. In order to monitor crystal violet concentration as a function of time, a
spectroscopic colorimeter was used. What is the rate law for decolorization of crystal violet? In order
to figure this out, the rate of the reaction of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide must be found. In this
experiment, the initial goals were to determine the overall rate law for the rate of decolorization of
crystal violet in basic solutions as a function of time and to determine the rate law for the reaction
including the actual value of k; Rate = k[A]x[B]y. The rate of a reaction was expected to depend on

Time) because it had a correlation closest to 1. All three orders were graphed and a linear regression
was used to see which graphed order was closest to 1. The order was determined by comparing the
concentration and time to the mathematical predictions made using the integrated rate laws. Analyzing
each graph and finding each correlation helped determine which graph was closest to 1. The more
concentrated a solution is, the higher the absorbance of that solution. This is due to Beer s Law. The
law measures the absorbance of a solution by determining how much light passes through a solution.
As the concentration of a solution increases, fewer wavelengths of light are able to pass through the
concentrated solution. The absorbance at 60 seconds was 0.573 (Figure 1: Table1). To calculate the
concentration (molarity), the Beer s Law equation was used, Abs = slope(m)+b. Plugging in what is
known into the Beer s Law equation resulted in 0.573 = 3.172e+004 + 0, where the concentration is
determined by M = 0.573 0/ 3.172e+004. So, the concentration at 60 seconds using the equation (M =
0.573 0 / 3.172e+004) was 1.824e 5 M. The 1st order graph resulted in k=0.006152 (Figure 1: Graph

Similarities Between Inherit The Wind And Robert E. Lee
Henry Norris Russel once said Conflict between science and religion a dangerous foe . Throughout
history, people have argued about the origin of mankind and tried to explain the unexplainable through
religion. These different views have caused segregation and disputes over what s right and wrong.
Intolerance towards outcasts, and consequences of extreme fundamentalism are demonstrated in
Inherit the Wind written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The central focus of the play is the
trial of Bertram Cates, which debates the education of evolution. It reveals the importance of free
thought and the necessity for respect for views that differ from one s own. However, where there has
been a disagreement about views, conflict has sparked. It is not possible for two different views of
humankind s roots to exist side by side because non conformity can provoke conflict.
Cates, the defendant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although she had the same views on humankind s roots as the rest of the townspeople, she caused
conflict between her and father since she defended and was romantically involved with someone who
had opposing views. When Rachel tried to defend Cates at the prayer meeting, Reverend Brown
asserted We call down the same curse on those who ask grace for this sinner (66). His relentless tone
highlights how seriously he takes his beliefs, even if it means going against family. The effects of this
amplified because her father was the Reverend who preached a faith on the fear of God and
punishment of sinners. His use of faith as an excuse for his wrongful actions, and his excessive
fundamentalism amounts to him losing his own daughter, as demonstrated by the proverb He that
troubleth his own house...shall inherit the wind (67). To conclude, Rachel s non conformity with the
loathing views of the Hillsboro citizens for Cates, induce conflicts between her and her

Fear Of Friday The 13th Paraskavedekatriphobia
Approximately every 212 days Friday the 13th occurs, while some may stay in bed all day to avoid the
bad luck, others will embrace it and joke about the superstitions. Friday the 13th has many
superstitions around the day. Some fear the day Friday, others may ear the number 13, while others
fear the combination of Friday and 13. Psychologists have named the fear of Friday the 13th
paraskavedekatriaphobia. Many have a fear of this day from myths, religious beliefs, and even human
research.
One origin of the superstition of Friday the 13th occur due to Dan Brown s The Da Vinci Code. In his
book on Friday 13, October 1307 hundreds of Knights Templar were arrested and burnt across France.
Knights Templar were a religious group of unmarried men who came together to protect Christians
during the Crusades. Christians then began showing thanks through giving them their land and money
which made the kings very wealthy. 1307 French King Phillip IV was running out of money so he
decided to go after the Templars money. He accused the men of heresy and arrested them. A popular
theory is that the Templars discovered the Holy Grail or a unorthodox religious secret. Another
popular theory is that Templars became the Freemasons.
A religious superstition of Friday the 13th is Catholic belief. Judas, an apostle that was said to betray
Jesus was the 13th guest at the Last Supper. Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday. The combination
of 13 on a Friday causes Catholics to be very fearful

Stagecoach Essay
Stagecoach An Interpretation of Stagecoach
In 1939 John Ford masterminded a classical western film by the name of Stagecoach. This film has
the integrity of a fine work of art. Being that it could be considered a work of art, the impression left
on a viewing audience could differ relying on the audience s demographics. However, it is conceivable
to all audiences that Ford delivers a cast of characters that are built on stereotypes and perceptions
conjured from B westerns that preceded this film s time. Each character is introduced to the audience
in a stereotypical genre, as the film progresses, these stereotypes are broken down and the characters
become more humanized. This is apparent with a handful of characters being ... Show more content on

Her only claim to such an elite profile is her husband, who belongs to the US Calvary. Her
iconography is that of upper class women, nothing more really. She longs for her husband, she too is
arrogant to some degree, and she is despised of things subordinate to her nature. She is revolted Dallas
who is portrayed as a prostitute. She could not even bear to share a meal at the same table with
someone of Dallas s social standing. It is only after the birth of her child that she breaks away from
her stereotype. She realizes the aid and care that she received from Dallas with her newborn and soon
after begins to socially accept Dallas. This is not the last one will see of a character breaking their
stereotypical role.
This brings us to the characters that compose the middle class. These characters are: Curly, Hatfield,
Doc Boone and Peacock. The roles of these characters are not built and manifested throughout the
film. For instance, Curly is introduced as the sheriff out to imprison the Ringo kid. This is in line with
the B men of the justice of the peace. His major concern is to see that the laws of the land are upheld.
He deviates from this role at the very end of this film by letting the Ringo kid go. Clearly this is an
action that is not in line with his law keeping duty. Hatfield, a southern gambler, is really a unique
character. Most B western icons depicted as gamblers are usually shown as hard and

Abstract The growth of data volumes and variety of Internet applications data centers (DCs) have
become an efficient and promising infrastructure . There is different type of data such as images ,
videos , text and other things , which is stored and it can be accessed if there is any need . But simple
data center is not well efficient that it can fetch the data in millisecond . Existing data center
architecture is not so good that it can handle such applications that need high storage ,high compute
power and bandwidth .Virtual data center is a promising solution to address these problems .
Virtualized data centers are efficient to provide better management flexibility, lower cost, scalability ,
better resources utilization, and energy efficiency. In this paper , we will present , how virtual data

D. Myth related to Advantages and Disadvantages of Virtualization
There are the so many myths in the mind of people such as
Virtualization is less/more secure than physical , Virtualization performs worse/better than physical etc
. Actually it totally depends on IT pro , how well he is managing that resources , if the resources are
well managed then it will work fine .It totally depends on the experience of IT pro , if he has
knowledge than , he will make better use of that resource .
Virtual Machines are slower than hardware
This myth is true , if your server is running at the 100% for CPU and memory then your added
hypervisor will create such environment where physical server will perform better than the virtual

Ethical Dilemma Case Study
An ethical dilemma is a situation by which it s difficult to determine whether a situation is can be
handled without disappointing both sides. Therefore, an ethical dilemma exists when the right thing to
do is clear or when members of the healthcare team cannot agree on the right thing to do. Ethical
dilemmas require negotiation of different points of view (potter, Perry, Stockert, Hall 2011pg 78).
The case study briefly explains a situation between daughter and father regarding the father s health.
As a nurse, this can be very difficult to tackle due to the conflict between the father and the daughter.
The main concerning situation is the father s health, he has been admitted to the hospital three times
within 6 months. The daughter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A nurse may determine their values and opinion about the issue because this allows the nurse to
become a more open listener. Knowing the situation at hand, it s important to offer some solutions
such as offering education and resources such as in home care services that can help manage chronic
health issues. And when faced with financial expenses the nurse should explore possible ways for him
to obtain coverage or to find primary providers that provide licensed care at a lower cost. When
looking at Emilio S point of view, he enjoys gardening, going to church and doing small projects
around the house. As a nurse, I would consider that his independence means a lot to him. Trying to
negotiate an outcome for both daughter and father can result in an effective solution. The last step
involves evaluating the outcomes, do the interventions work for both the daughter and father? If E.S
can have his independence while getting professional care from home. ethical dilemmas are
commonplace, complex, and require critical thinking skills that are honed through practice, and
practice, and more practice. Airth Kindree, N. M., Kirk horn, L. C. (2016).
Emilio S. also seeks medical treatment from a traditional doctor, and this may present some issues
with his health. this can also be an ethical dilemma because respecting the father s wishes can create
conflict with his daughter and the healthcare team. The resolution of this dilemma will be difficult due
to the cultural

Multi Track History
60s Research Document 4.1.1,2 History and development of the Multitrack Recorder Multitrack
recorders were originally developed in the early 1950s in Germany. The initial principle of multitracks
was to divide a tape in two parts and record different sounds onto each and play them back
concurrently. The fact that both tracks would be on the same tape would mean they would be
synchronised exactly. In classical music recordings of the 1950s, the early two track machines were
first used and recorded in stereo. Two different mics would be used and these signals would be
recorded simultaneously. Pop and jazz recordings however, remained in mono until the mid sixties.
The first three track recorder is attributed to Les Paul who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the time this was a pioneering recording technique. Further experimentation would follow. During
his time at Landsdowne Studios Meek was said to have experimented with using two tape machines to
produce ‘flange (an effect generally thought to have been developed in the mid 60s.) When
multitracking, Meek would use two or more tape machines. These were initially a Lyrec TR16 (two
track) and an EMI TR51 (mono 1 track). When recording a band Meek would often record the rhythm
track and then record vocals when bouncing to the master in order to save having an extra bouncing
stage. The reason for this was that each bouncing stage would add a certain amount of noise to the
master. If he wanted to create an orchestral track would often get a few players, never more than four
string players, and before sending the signal to tape he would delay the recording and then feed it back
into the channel and this reflection would sound more like eight strings. In order to ‘beef up the kick
drum on Meek s track ‘Have I The Right , he played the track and recorded people stomping on the
floor in time to the bass drum. The worldwide success of ‘Telstar provided Joe Meek with a
substantial income with which he upgraded his TR51 to an EMI BTR2. This slightly altered Meeks
recording method. He would now record the rhythm track onto a full ¼ inch mono track on the BTR2
as the full track offered a superior recording

The Middle East
Armageddon in the Middle East. Populations reduced to dust by nuclear war. International actors
drawn into tense conflict and potentially world altering violence. These are the fears held by the U.S.
and Israel when considering the possibility of Iranian nuclear weapons. However, the attitudes of the
Obama administration in discussing potential deals with Iran have demonstrated a change in the U.S.
strategy when interacting with an Iranian regime that desires nuclear capability. In recent months, Iran
has made global headlines once again by asking for permission to develop and possess nuclear
weapons within their state for the purpose of stabilizing the turbulent Middle East. This recent
development has sparked a heated debate over the best way for the United States and Israel to respond
to Iran s quest to obtain nuclear power in the Middle East, creating mounting tensions and polarization
in American and global politics. The Obama administration aims to stabilize the Middle East by
developing a diplomatic deal with Iran. However, the argument of Israel and the conservatives in
Congress that Iran s potential nuclear capability brings much more risk and danger than reward is a
much more realistic, pragmatic and appropriate viewpoint given the tensions and instability in the
Middle East and the history of Iran s conflict with Western civilization. Iran s leaders have actively
pursued the development of nuclear energy technology since the launch of U.S. President Dwight D.

Architecture, Power, and National Identity Essay examples
Having a sense of belonging is one of several fundamental human needs and national identity refers to
a person s sense of belonging to one country with its history, values and traditions. Since achieving
independence in 1957, the issue of Malaysia s national identity has been in the spotlight due to its
strong social, political and economical factors implication. As a multi cultural country, the search for a
national identity is not an easy undertaking as Malaysians consist of different ethnics such as Malay,
Chinese and Indian. Each ethnic group contributes their own unique culture and religion, hence
making it difficult to form a Malaysian identity. In fact, in September 2010, Prime Minister Najib Tun

The term, vernacular architecture, was first used by architectural theorists to describe buildings that
seemed not to have been consciously designed and affected by the intellectual and artistic currents of
the Renaissance (Dell Upton, 1983).
With the growing presence of globalization and modernization, the pre industrial building heritage is
indeed under threat with modern methods prevailing. In that vein, we are seeing how the designs, use
and meanings of these traditions change within the concepts of the contemporary processes in a
globalized world (Lindsay Asquit, Marcel Vellinga, 2006).
The societal effects are evident in the negotiation of identity, and the definition and value of key
concepts like tradition, modernity and place (Lindsay Asquit, Marcel Vellinga, 2006). One of the most
engaging aspects that is relevant to the discourse of how vernacular architecture is tradition. It has

tradition as practiced in vernacular architecture can be displayed via a cultural explanation: In a

Does Austerity Has Had A Corrosive Effect On The Disabled,...
This essay intends to argue that austerity has had a corrosive effect on the disabled, poor,
disadvantaged and penurious. There are various different measurements of inequality, the two that will
be analysed in this essay is the Lorenz Curve and the Gini coefficient. This essay will then explore the
case for austerity, and why the government decided to implement it. Since 2010, inequality has gone
down and employment has gone up. The crux of this essay will focus on the way in which austerity
has been implemented and the adverse consequences for those at the bottom of society. The policies
that have been enacted under austerity are more detrimental than the data would lead us to believe.

A Short Note On Loss Of Brand Reputation
1. Risk One Loss of Brand Reputation
A loss of brand reputation occurs from many different potential sources, but can be managed and
mitigate through appropriate steps before and after any potential incidents that could affect the
company s brand. It is vital to employ rigorous quality control monitoring, in order to ensure stock
meets regulation and public safety expectations of the market. Failure to monitor the quality of stock
can result in poor quality goods, or even unsafe goods being sold and associated with the company
name. Following up on quality control management, with distributors to ensure that stock continues to

Developing a contingency plan for emergencies both with the distributing partner, and within the
company will enable the company to respond quickly to maintain distributor relationships or make
adjustments for an emergency to mitigate the impact on the company s operations.
3. Risk Three Regulatory Changes Regulatory changes can have a positive impact on the company,
but can also incur operational costs. As regulation changes do not occur in a vacuum the company can
evaluate the potential impact of regulation changes and set aside sufficient funds before changes occur
to ensure the company continues to meet regulation demands. The organization can setup an internal
committee that can evaluate the impact of regulation changes being debated. The advantage of this is
leveraging some changes to the companies benefit. For example, if there is a desired change that
would enhance food safety, the committee may find that enacting the change would not incur a large
cost, would improve brand recognition to enact the change, and may choose to change company
standards whether or not the regulation changes. It can aid in planning how to mitigate operational
cost increases due to regulation changes, for example the pharmacy may face changing health
insurance regulation changes and the company would not only need to set aside sufficient funds, but
also institute a compliance plan upon the regulation changing.

Oppression of Jews during World War II
Oppression of Jews During World War II In her memoir, We Are On Our Own, Miriam Katin tells the
story of how she and her mother escaped from Nazi soldiers during World War II. Katin and her
mother are two Jews that are completely on their own. Katin has no other siblings and her father is
fighting in the war(12) Jews were discriminated during World War II by the Nazis, who believed their
Aryan race was superior to the Jewish race and all other races. Over six million innocent Jews were
killed during World War II while the world watched, and countless other Jews were oppressed and
discriminated against leading up to the war. In her moving memoir, Miriam Katin retells the story of
how she and her mother escaped from Nazi soldiers and survived the oppression of Nazi Germany.
World War II began in 1939, when German soldiers invaded Poland. Although this was the beginning
of the war, it was not the beginning of the oppression and discrimination of Jews. Jews had been
looked down upon for centuries. Many times, when Europeans needed an answer to a problem, the
Jews were blamed. When the Black Death hit Europe in the 1300 s, the Europeans had no answer as to
what the epidemic was or how to stop it. With no answer in sight, Europeans blamed the Jews and
came up with phony explanations as to what the Jews did to them. For example, the Europeans blamed
the Jews for poisoning the Europeans wells and that was why everyone was getting sick and dying.

monstrous ability to get what she wanted and escape the unwanted. Even into adulthood, she used her
inhuman ability to hurt the ones she loved, and the ones who loved her. Many see her true evil nature

Persuasive Essay Zoos
Did you know zoos help endangered animals repopulate? Do you know that zoos also help provide
research for scientists? Can zoos eventually provide enough research to end endangerment of all
animal species? As the argument about whether animals should be kept in zoos continues, I am here to
give reasons on why zoos are beneficial to the environment. The facts to back me up in this argument
include, zoos help prevent extinction, zoos aid scientist s research, and lastly that they can heal injured
animals.
Some animal species in the world are endangered, such as the California condor. Endangerment means
the amount of living organisms of this species is far below average and are in the threat of extinction.
Extinction means that the whole species has died out. Statistics show that 21% of earth s mammal
species are endangered and that 33% of all amphibian species are endangered. When it comes to this
topic, zoos are major positives. Zoos will take in an animal, help it reproduce and survive, then release
it back into the wild. This allows for less animals to become extinct. Humans have already caused
most of their habitat loss and deaths; therefore, the zoos are there to provide them a way to rebuild and
restart. To wrap this up, zoos provide a large sum of support to animals that are going extinct and will

2. What is your decision regarding the 2 credit proposals? Why?
Ashar Corporation:
First of all, I am going to discuss the Ashar Business Credit Proposal. In this proposal, Ashar
Industries Company, which is one of the largest steel companies worldwide, is asking for a $850 M
credit in order to finance their acquisition of Zellmont SA, which would actually create the largest
steel producer company of the world. This acquisition has not been recommended by the Zellmont
board, and therefore it could be regarded as a hostile takeover at the moment.
As it is seen on its financial statements, Ashar corporation has been a very healthy corporation during
the past few years. We can see that they have a really stable Income Statement, with ... Show more

refinance their debt and keep up with their operations, they will develop a strong position in the future
years within this industry. We are risking a lot of money in this operation, but looking out side de box,
we anticipate a good future within this company and of course, within the gold sector, which we
consider will be caused by increase of the gold price.
We have much financial support on this operation, and I think that our bank would gain a lot if this
operation goes well. GGC has the capability to pay in the medium long term, and we think that if we
help them take this step towards the future, it will be a win to win situation for both parties.

I think this book gives us the opportunity to reflect on our roles in our students lives, as a general

In this storytelling process, Jason and his classmates actively engage in making their own stories and
extend them with their classmates. Jason s classmates made a lot of effort to incorporate Jason and his
helicopter in their shared story. I believe it is noteworthy to recognize how Paley is able to shift the
main focus in the classroom from the student teacher relationship to the student student relationship.
We found Paley s view on conflict resolution very interesting. She states: Problems are not meant to
be solved. They are ours to practice on, to explore the possibility with, to help us study cause and
effect. Important issues can t be solved with one grand plan...Some are worked at for a lifetime,
returning in different disguise, requiring fresh insights (p. 80) For children, play can be a powerful
medium in which to practice their problems and to freely enjoy the process of reaching a solution
Another strategy we found useful was Paley s use of make believe when dealing with misbehavior in
her classroom. She does not view misbehavior as bad, or something to be punished, rather, she
maintains that these behaviors are misreadings of a script in progress, something that is in need of
reworking. This means that each student can feel free to experience the trials and errors of their

The Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate social responsibility is paramount in any organization. It involves the need for a corporate
organization to go beyond what may be required by regulators or environmental protection groups and
manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. Corporate take it
upon themselves and come up with an initiative to assess and take responsibility for the company s
effects on the environment and impact on social welfare. This may involve incurring short term costs
that do not provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but instead promotes positive
social and environmental change (Crowther Aras 2008). Our founder Bill Gates has set an exemplary
model through the creation of Bill Gates Melinda Foundation that has lifted the lives of many poverty
stricken people throughout the world. It is in line with this noble initiative by our founder that we are
working to uphold the precedents set by our founder that we are setting out to launch the proposed

The Green hill initiative is a project that will involve planting trees in the Olympic forest near the
Olympic Peninsula. This is a project that will socially benefit the community near Redmond,

My Personal Statement Of Ecology
For me to fall in love with science, and ecology in particular, has been a lifelong process. I was lucky
to have experienced an early discovery of the joys and nuances of nature and this was supported
throughout my youth and adulthood by teachers, peers, and most importantly, my family. My first
memory, of seeing light filtering through swaying trees above me, is indicative of the beauty and
tranquility that nature has provided me throughout my life. Although I have always had an innate
respect and enjoyment of the environment, this feeling was amplified every time i would visit my
family in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico. These frequent trips to a pristine environment were what
ultimately changed my perspective on the world, my personal values, and led me to pursue an
education in ecology.

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant

it is not important for people to take a stand on issues of justice in society is because a nation tends to

certain laws or rules. In Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi s speech On Civil Disobedience he says, No

Similarly, no State is possible without two entities, the rulers and the ruled. Your are our sovereign, or

not the sovereign either. So long as it is your endeavour to control us with justice and love, we will let

Measure Growth During American War History And Musicality...
Chapter Four: Data Analysis and Findings The purpose of the study was to measure growth in
American war history and musicality while learning repertoire from various war periods, identifying
the major wars of the United States with dates, and describing the origins of Veteran s Day. Ten
different sub questions and research instruments were used to measure growth during the process of
preparing for the Veterans Day Concert. Each instrument was inserted into Google Forms and
delivered to each student via Google Classroom. Pre Tests were given to students during the third
week of school. Post tests were given to students two weeks prior to the final performance. Scores
may have been effected by possible guessing or misspelled words in the students written responses.
The data is reflective of the hypothesis in the fact that sixth grade students scored low and eighth
grade students scored higher on the pretests. However, on certain pretests, the seventh grade students
actually scored higher than some eighth grade students. Data Analysis Question 1: Can students
demonstrate music growth through naming letter names of notes written on the staff with treble and
bass clefs from F2 to G5? The research instrument entitled Grand Staff required students to generate
letter names of notes placed on the staff with treble and bass clefs. Seventh and eighth grade students
would have prior knowledge of note letter names from previous years in chorus. Sixth grade students

Fair Trade Coffee Offers a Solution to the Coffee Crisis
When you buy a cup of coffee in Starbucks every morning to keep you awake through the day, do you

goes to the Farmers? Personally, I m not a coffee drinker. But somehow I realize the big sign in front

few students know what it means. Currently, farmers in Brazil and Vietnam grow the majority of

As a result, wholesale coffee prices are at their lowest levels in 100 years. Back in 1997, unroasted
coffee beans that had a wholesale price of $2 a pound dipped to under 50 cents a pound in 2002, a
price below many farmers production cost. Since farmers couldn t afford the proper working
conditions, the beans would be grown using the twelve most health threatening types of pesticide.
Furthermore, With low prices, farmers tend to reduce inputs and take less care of the trees. In some
cases this means that it is easier to cut down forest for plantations rather than care for existing ones,
said Néstor Osorio, executive director of the ICO (Roach). The farmers could not afford to improve
organic growing conditions and develop higher quality coffee beans. It directly reduces the range of
quality and varieties of coffee we are obtaining! According to Liam Brody, a program coordinator for
Oxfam America in Boston, the situation was so adverse that hundreds of thousands of coffee farmers
in Africa and Central and South America have lost their jobs as farmland is converted to other
agricultural uses such as livestock grazing or the cultivation of illicit drugs (Roach).

organization in the United States to determine whether or not coffee beans meet fair trade standards an

James Joyce Annotated Bibliography Essay
Joyce s modernistic view of Dublin society permeates all of his writings. The Irish experiences
account for a large portion of Joyce s writings. Stephen Dedalus is sometimes Joyce s pseudonym and
represents Joyce and his life in Joyce s works. Joyce plays a crucial role in the modernist movement in
literature. Some of the well known innovative techniques used by Joyce are symbolism, realism and
stream of consciousness. James Joyce s writings contain autobiographical matter and display his view
of life in Dublin, Ireland with the use of symbolism, realism, and stream of consciousness.
Joyce was born into a middle class, Catholic family in Dublin, Ireland on February 2, 1882 and wrote

Dubliners revolves around the everyday lives of men, women, and children n the Irish capital of
Dublin and is based on real people and places that were part of Joyce s life.
Shortly after his mother s death, in place of Stephen Hero, Joyce wrote A Portrait of the Artist as a
Young Man, which was based on the events of his life (Gifford 160). In this largely autobiographical
novel, Joyce wrote that I go to encounter for the millionth time the reality of experience and to force
in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race (Gifford 177). Joyce appears as the
character Stephen Dedalus in this book. Like Joyce, Stephen finds himself in conflict with his family,
the Roman Catholic Church, and the nationalistic zeal of the Irish people. Also, like Joyce, Dedalus
leaves Ireland and wishes to become a writer (www.jamesjoyce.ie). By depicting Stephen with a
mixture of irony and sympathy, Joyce suggests the special importance of the artist in the modern
world.
Divided into five chapters, this book follows Stephen s life from childhood through adolescence to
manhood. We are essentially given a window into Stephen s consciousness, and the whole world is
unveiled to us through that single aperture. According to Sydney Bolt, no novel written before A
Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man can match its variety in styles This indicates Joyce s originality.

Palm Oil And Its Effects
Introduction
Palm Oil makes up more than 50% of daily used goods, particularly food goods, but this is not without
effects on other animals, plants and people. Many people are completely unaware of the effects of
Palm Oil. This is the reason why more awareness of Palm Oil and it s effects, is necessary. This report
will look at what Palm Oil is, how it is used, it s positives, it s negatives and sustainable Palm Oil.
About Palm Oil
What is Palm Oil?
Palm Oil is an edible vegetable oil, that originates from the Palm Oil tree. It comes from the pulp of
the fruit which surrounds the kernel. It contributes to the economic development of developing
countries and plays a main role in the diets of millions of people around the world.
Where is it grown? Why?
Palm trees originated in West Africa, but was brought to South East Asia towards the start of the 20th
century. During the British Industrial Revolution the demand for Palm Oil increased. At that time
250,000 tones of Palm Oil was being exported annually, this number has now risen to more that 60
000 000 tonnes a year. It is currently planted and harvested throughout Africa, Asia, North America,
South America, Indonesia and Malaysia. 85% of all Palm Oil is produced and exported from Indonesia
and Malaysia.
Climate
Palm trees can be grown in hot places with abundant rainfall, such as Malaysia and Indonesia. This is
why there is such large plantations in places such as Indonesia and Malaysia. The reason that Palm Oil
is used

Stteric Acid Purcules In A Monolayer
Purpose In this experiment, the different lengths of a steric acid molecules in a monolayer were
measured to determine Avogadro s number. The number of drops of stearic acid were calculated to see
how much it will take to make a monolayer on the surface of water on the dish. (Goldwhite and
Tikkanen)
Theory
The stearic acid is obtained from animal fats. The molecular formula is C17H35COOH and its
composed of a hydrophilic acid group, COOH, and a hydrocarbon chain C17H35. The long
hydrocarbon chain is like lubrication oil, because it does not have any affinity for water. In other
words, when the stearic acid becomes in contact with water it doesn t mix in water. The hydrophobic
chain floats upwards in a vertical position in the solution. (ChemSkills) When the stearic acid was
dropped to the water it spreads across the surface until it creates a monolayer, a one molecule thick
layer. The volume of stearic acid was calculated by determining the number of drops used to create the
monolayer on the dish by using the following equation:
V=(number of drops in monolayer ×(1 mL)/(drops per mL)×(concentration of stearic acid)/(1
mL))/(density of stearic acid)
We calculated the surface area of the dish to determine the length of one molecule by using the
following equations:
〖Surface Area〗_dish=π(d/2)^2
Length_(stearic acid)=V_monolayer/〖Surface Area〗_dish
The hydrocarbon chain is the part of the stearic acid molecules to form the monolayer of thickness L.
We assumed that

Nixon, Kissinger And The Rise Of Realpolitik
Nixon, Kissinger and the Rise of Realpolitik: A Neoclassical Realist Approach to US
Foreign Policy, 1969 1974
POLI 346
Professor Mark Brawley
TA: Alice Chessé
Topic 16
The Rise of Realpolitik The Nixon Kissinger partnership is considered by academics and
policymakers as one of the most powerful collaborations in the history of US foreign policy. Richard
Nixon appointed Henry Kissinger, Jewish German émigré, as his national security advisor during his
presidency. Although the two came from vastly different backgrounds, their bond was marked by a
strong sense of cohesion and agreement on key foreign policy challenges, such as overextension in
Vietnam and the looming Soviet threat. The unlikely pair went on to fundamentally change the
trajectory of the Cold War, and to usher in a new era in East West relations. Nixon and Kissinger s
foreign policy was predicated on the European tradition of realpolitik a pragmatic approach to politics
where the the state s strategic interests supersede its parochial and ideological convictions. This was a
departure from the status quo where foreign policy was in large part denominated in a state s moral
principles. Nixon and Kissinger s foreign policy could be seen to fall under the rubric of neoclassical
realism: it incorporates both the systemic conditions faced by the state, and the internal material
resources at the state s disposal to respond to external threats. Proponents of neoclassical realism

Robert Frost And Modern Poetry
Many poets have shaped the writing style of modern day poetry a bit, but few have done so much as
Robert Frost has in the ways of influencing today s poetry. A man widely renowned and respected in
America, Frost used his shockingly modern writing style to help pave a path for the poems of the
future. By analyzing this great poet, one can only hope to discover the true, raw meaning of the
written words that have had a lasting impact on the views and, more importantly, on the world of
poetry. This essay will explain how Robert Frost used his modernistic writing, his poem s
philosophical nature, and his avid albeit beautiful descriptions of life and all its whims. All of this to
break the mold of classical poetry writing, and to begin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem is called The Silent Tent. The most noted and revered line in this poem is actually the first,
She is as in a field a silken tent . This signifies the fact that Frost chose to compare Kay (the woman
he fell for) to a silken tent. Frost may have chosen for the tent to be silk to express the soft beauty of
Kay; after all, silk is normally described as beautiful, soft, and smooth.
As the poem The Silken Tent goes on, the metaphors become complex and more and more are tangled
within one another. This can symbolize how, as time went on, Frost s love for Kay, as well as their
relationship, became more and more complicated. Frost uses ropes as a way to express that Kay is tied
down by her duties, but he then goes on to say that all of the cords are loosely bound . In the last line
of the poem, Frost explains that marriage is like a form of bondage. When married, a person is bound
religiously, socially, and legally. However, Frost states that it is only a slight amount of bondage,
showing that Kay s marriage wasn t constricting or strict. Lastly, by using light weather (such as sunny
summer breeze and summer air ) in this particular poem, Frost evokes a feeling of happiness,
signifying that Kay was a happy woman. Sharing this poem with the world, in its most romantic and
personal form, took courage, causing even more people to flock towards Frost and his writing. All of

Transcendentalism In The Scarlett Letter
During the time of Hester Prynne in The Scarlett Letter, a novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne and
published in 1850, the severity of some crimes were bigger than others due to different views. During
these times, acts such as adultery or atheism could be punishable by death. Hester Prynne was very
aware of these ideas. According to Ralph Waldo Emerson s Self Reliance, a transcendentalist is
someone who can Trust thyself. (Essay II Self Reliance) Within the same text, he also states that if
someone is human, than they must be nonconformists. Hester Prynne shows her transcendentalist
values by not conforming to the Puritan beliefs, ones that condemn any and all outside beliefs and
beliefs that are not in the bible, and she supports herself and her daughter in an old cabin just outside

In the spring of 2011, I visited my family physician for a routine physical. While there, I let the doctor
know I was having some pain in my left groin area. I also had an umbilical hernia that was going to
have to be fixed. To resolve these issues, my physician scheduled me an appointment with a general
surgeon. At the appointment, the surgeon explains that I have an old wound in my groin that has
healed, and I must have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the while my future bride is planning this wedding that I have proposed. While excited about the
planning, I was more worried about this surgery, and what the recovery time will be. I am then told it
will be a month before I can lift anything more than a gallon of milk and I will have to take it easy for
some time after that. I m thinking great, newly engaged and I m going to be laid up for more than a
month! Surgery day comes and everything seems to go well. Time goes quickly, only this pain is not
going away. It actually is getting worse. It was fall of 2011, our wedding was just around the corner,
and I was still not well. I plead with the surgeon, there is something wrong here, what can be done?
Surgeon replies, You are probably slow to heal, we can give you an injection and maybe you will feel
better. So injection it was, somehow I had to be better by wedding day! Wedding day comes and it was
perfect, the only hiccup is my new wife nearly destroys the cake as we are posing for a picture. After
that wonderful day, it is off to the honeymoon, and away from all the fuss. It is time to relax. It doesn t
take long to realize that relaxing is harder than I thought it would be. I was having sharp pains. I
couldn t sleep, or sit, and there is no way to get comfortable. A honeymoon should have been more
enjoyable than that!
Back to the surgeon again. Why do I still have this pain? I asked. The

Reaction Paper On Dehiobiotin
Biotin
Definition
It is made up of extraordinary form, with two ring fused jointly through one of their sides. The two
rings are ureido and thiophene moieties. Biotin is heterocyclic, S comprising monocarboxylic acid. It
is formed from two precursors, alanine and pimeloyl CoA around three enzymes. 8 Amino 7
oxopelargonic acid synthase is a pyrodixal 5ᶦ phosphate enzyme. The pimeloyl CoA, be able to
developed by a qualified fatty acid pathway comprising a malonyl as the starter. 7 and 8
Diaminopelargonic acid or DAPA aminotransferase is unique in using S adenosyl methionine or SAM
as the NH₂ donor. Dethiobiotin synthethase catalyzes the establishment of the ureido ring through a
DAPA carbamate started with ATP. Biotin synthase reductively devides SAM into a deoxyadenosyl
radical‒a primary radical created on dethiobiotin is trapped by the sulfur donor, which was form to be

Biotin plays a crucial role in sustaining metabolic function and serves as a co enzyme to aid break
down food especially carbohydrates. The result is further accelerated when biotin is combined with
chromium. Your inactive metabolic rate is raised and food breaks down quicker when consuming
biotin. However, research shows that there is no way the biotin can act as a weight loss pill. It is
essential to pair the biotin supplement with a hearty diet and work out regime to make sure you
achieve your slim down goals. Biotin is broadly available and can be found in many foods.

Steroid Aromatization
A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only
A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only.Prolonged use of steroids can lead to increased
levels of estradiol in the blood and as a consequence of it to aromatization. I note here that this
property have only the so called aromatizable steroids. Testosterone is considered to have the biggest
incline to this process, of course. The second place occupies such a steroid as methandrostenolone.
Boldenone and flyuksimetreon have more weak property of aromatization. There are steroids that can
be converted to estradiol without the process of aromatization, these include nandrolone,
norethandrolone and ethylestrenol. However, it makes no significant relief, and the level of estrogen ...

I mean the drugs that can cause excessive accumulation of fluid in the area of the men nipples without
estrogens. This is primarily oksimethalon. But let s go back a bit and talk about the following. Is it
possible that the level of estrodiol in the blood of a men will rise even with a short term use of steroid
drugs? No it is not possible. As with any side effect, this defect requires prolonged use or
overdose. And the last thing I would like to discuss each person has an individual reaction to the
estrogens in the blood because we are all different as banal as it may sound, some people even have
immunity to the process of aromatization, and some on the contrary may be particularly inclined to
this problem.Restoring the natural balance.Lets finish with the theory and go back to what we actually
started with and what I wanted to tell you about, that is to anti estrogens. It is a mistake to assume that
anti estrogen is a drug created specifically for men, as if it was created to suppress the development of
the feminine in men. The situation is quite opposite, originally anti estrogens were created for women
who had problems with an excess of estrogen in their bodies. For example, particularly large

The Rubik s Cube
How Architecture found Cubes
The Rubik s cube, invented by Erno Rubik, is famously known as the Impossible puzzle.
It was during the summer of my 7th grade that I first stumbled upon the Rubik s cube. The Rubik s
cube is a cube with different colors on all sides. The goal is to be able to return the original look of the
cube, with all the edges and corners corresponding to the center color of each face. People seem to
think the cube is made out of 27 cubes, but it is actually made of a core. The other pieces fit in with
the core to give the look of multiple cubes grouped together.
I remembered the day vividly when I held the glamorous box with the Qi Yi BullFight (Name of the
Rubik s Cube) inside. The cube felt special, it was an experience I had never encountered. Perfect.
Made with care. I momentarily observed the cube, six sides, all with their beautifully covered ... Show

Architecture is the design of a building, just like the bones that make up the structure of a human
being, and the way it forms as a basis for a design. The Rubik s cube is the pencil I use for drawing.
The pencil is occasionally used, and sometimes, left alone. When I am focused, I can solve my
difficulties, calm and controlled. Nevertheless, I can draw my imagination, however hard it maybe.
However, when I am inattentive, it seems like a brick wall is stopping me from my solution. Although
this pencil may cause me to stress out, it can also encourage me to try harder, and seek out the hidden
solution even with the massive brick wall in the way. My love of architecture connects with the cube
because solving problems in puzzles is just like thinking through and designing something. In
addition, whenever I open my vision to the many designs in the world, it brings me back to the Rubik
s cube and architecture. The many designs act like the algorithms in the cube, you sometimes make
errors, and you sometimes

What Does The Vietnam Wall Mean
Does fear and reverence have the power to provoke people? In the short story, Once Upon A Time, the
author Nadine Gordimer, uses symbolism to convey how fear coupled with apartheid can have
devastating themes. On the contrary, in Alberto Rios poem The Vietnam Wall, Rios shows how a little
black marble wall has the magic to connect and affect diverse communities. Rios uses imagery in his
poem to convey themes of thanksgiving and reverence. Overall, the symbolism and imagery both
convey an idea about the individual s roles in society. To begin with, the symbolism in the short story
portrays fear and apartheid as the themes. The characters and the setting both play a role in the
symbolism. Foremost, the family lived in a house, in a suburb, in a city. The ... Show more content on

The family lives a comfortable life on the inside. Additionally, Gordimer uses witches associated
reputation to indicate that this particular character will be vile in the fairytale aspect. The wise old
witch (the husband s mother) serves as the privileged whites who firmly encouraged apartheid. She
warned the family not to take anyone off the street. Gordimer connotes anyone to the colored South
Africans. She didn t want anyone that was colored to enter their home. Furthermore, the glorified,
blood curdling, protective wall embodies segregation. The disturbing walls that were ameliorated in
the short story, serves as a figurative force that further divides the whites from the rest of the
population (outsiders). Moreover, the little boy and his pets epitomize blissful ignorance. Throughout
most of the paranoia the parents participated in and perpetuated, the young boy and his pets were
playful, and entirely oblivious of everything. This is illustrated in: The little boy was fascinated by the
device and used it as a walkie talkie... as well as the little boy and the pet dog raced gleefully ahead of
the husband and the wife as

However, to see a pro athlete fall and suffer due to accusations and evidence brought against them is a very serious issue. There have been so many past court cases where professional athletes have had to pay for their actions against their organization or against society. Athletes are not above the law, but they are generally portrayed to be seen above the law because of their financial success. Based on past court cases, professional athletes are not above the law because they are simply still people that make mistakes. Also, athletes are not the exception to the law. They have to follow the rules of society just like everyone else. Finally, professional athletes are not above the law because they have a reputation to up hold. They are sometimes being watched by millions of people on national television. Professional athletes are still people that have made mistakes in the past. There is no professional athlete that does not wish that he or she did not make the mistake that was made. A great example would be NFL Running Back Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings. • 3. How Does Media Affect Body Image Body image is how a person feels about their physical appearance. Someone with a negative body image has a distorted view of his or her body and often feels shame, anxiety and are more likely to suffer from low self esteem and depression. People with a poor body image have a greater chance of developing an eating disorder. Which then can lead to drastic changes of their bodies using dangerous methods such as plastic surgeries and severe eating disorders in order to meet societal ideals. Today people feel that present ideals are pressuring them to conform, in any way possible to get the ideal body, these pressures cause body dissatisfaction and self esteem issues. The media is causing body image issues due to the lack of diversity and realistic body representation, when exposed to western media young people are more likely to have eating disorders, participate in fad diets, or drastically change their bodies with plastic surgeries. The ideal woman s body type has taken many forms, but these fads show that ideals change with the eras. These ideals are directly influenced by society, art and media. When trends changed it typically was replaced by thinner body shapes causing the introduction of methods of weight controls. Before Photoshop, women in the late 1800s used to corset their bodies to get the ideal shape, which then was fuller figured but a ridiculously tight corseted waists. During this time, another female body image was the Gibson girl a soft, supple, dainty female with a frame defined by a corset. The Gibson girl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Kinetics Section 1: Kinetics is the study of the rate of chemical processes. The kinetics of the reaction between crystal violet and NaOH was studied. In order to monitor crystal violet concentration as a function of time, a spectroscopic colorimeter was used. What is the rate law for decolorization of crystal violet? In order to figure this out, the rate of the reaction of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide must be found. In this experiment, the initial goals were to determine the overall rate law for the rate of decolorization of crystal violet in basic solutions as a function of time and to determine the rate law for the reaction including the actual value of k; Rate = k[A]x[B]y. The rate of a reaction was expected to depend on the concentrations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Time) because it had a correlation closest to 1. All three orders were graphed and a linear regression was used to see which graphed order was closest to 1. The order was determined by comparing the concentration and time to the mathematical predictions made using the integrated rate laws. Analyzing each graph and finding each correlation helped determine which graph was closest to 1. The more concentrated a solution is, the higher the absorbance of that solution. This is due to Beer s Law. The law measures the absorbance of a solution by determining how much light passes through a solution. As the concentration of a solution increases, fewer wavelengths of light are able to pass through the concentrated solution. The absorbance at 60 seconds was 0.573 (Figure 1: Table1). To calculate the concentration (molarity), the Beer s Law equation was used, Abs = slope(m)+b. Plugging in what is known into the Beer s Law equation resulted in 0.573 = 3.172e+004 + 0, where the concentration is determined by M = 0.573 0/ 3.172e+004. So, the concentration at 60 seconds using the equation (M = 0.573 0 / 3.172e+004) was 1.824e 5 M. The 1st order graph resulted in k=0.006152 (Figure 1: Graph 1). • 5. Similarities Between Inherit The Wind And Robert E. Lee Henry Norris Russel once said Conflict between science and religion a dangerous foe . Throughout history, people have argued about the origin of mankind and tried to explain the unexplainable through religion. These different views have caused segregation and disputes over what s right and wrong. Intolerance towards outcasts, and consequences of extreme fundamentalism are demonstrated in Inherit the Wind written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The central focus of the play is the trial of Bertram Cates, which debates the education of evolution. It reveals the importance of free thought and the necessity for respect for views that differ from one s own. However, where there has been a disagreement about views, conflict has sparked. It is not possible for two different views of humankind s roots to exist side by side because non conformity can provoke conflict. Cates, the defendant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His relentless tone highlights how seriously he takes his beliefs, even if it means going against family. The effects of this amplified because her father was the Reverend who preached a faith on the fear of God and punishment of sinners. His use of faith as an excuse for his wrongful actions, and his excessive fundamentalism amounts to him losing his own daughter, as demonstrated by the proverb He that troubleth his own house...shall inherit the wind (67). Fear Of Friday The 13th Paraskavedekatriphobia Approximately every 212 days Friday the 13th occurs, while some may stay in bed all day to avoid the bad luck, others will embrace it and joke about the superstitions. Friday the 13th has many superstitions around the day. Some fear the day Friday, others may ear the number 13, while others fear the combination of Friday and 13. Psychologists have named the fear of Friday the 13th paraskavedekatriaphobia. Many have a fear of this day from myths, religious beliefs, and even human research. One origin of the superstition of Friday the 13th occur due to Dan Brown s The Da Vinci Code. In his book on Friday 13, October 1307 hundreds of Knights Templar were arrested and burnt across France. Knights Templar were a religious group of unmarried men who came together to protect Christians during the Crusades. Christians then began showing thanks through giving them their land and money which made the kings very wealthy. 1307 French King Phillip IV was running out of money so he decided to go after the Templars money. He accused the men of heresy and arrested them. A popular theory is that the Templars discovered the Holy Grail or a unorthodox religious secret. Another popular theory is that Templars became the Freemasons. A religious superstition of Friday the 13th is Catholic belief. This film has the integrity of a fine work of art. Being that it could be considered a work of art, the impression left on a viewing audience could differ relying on the audience s demographics. However, it is conceivable to all audiences that Ford delivers a cast of characters that are built on stereotypes and perceptions conjured from B westerns that preceded this film s time. • 11. Multi Track History 60s Research Document 4.1.1,2 History and development of the Multitrack Recorder Multitrack recorders were originally developed in the early 1950s in Germany. The initial principle of multitracks was to divide a tape in two parts and record different sounds onto each and play them back concurrently. The fact that both tracks would be on the same tape would mean they would be synchronised exactly. In classical music recordings of the 1950s, the early two track machines were first used and recorded in stereo. Two different mics would be used and these signals would be recorded simultaneously. Pop and jazz recordings however, remained in mono until the mid sixties. The first three track recorder is attributed to Les Paul who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the time this was a pioneering recording technique. Further experimentation would follow. During his time at Landsdowne Studios Meek was said to have experimented with using two tape machines to produce ‘flange (an effect generally thought to have been developed in the mid 60s.) When multitracking, Meek would use two or more tape machines. These were initially a Lyrec TR16 (two track) and an EMI TR51 (mono 1 track). When recording a band Meek would often record the rhythm track and then record vocals when bouncing to the master in order to save having an extra bouncing stage. The reason for this was that each bouncing stage would add a certain amount of noise to the master. If he wanted to create an orchestral track would often get a few players, never more than four string players, and before sending the signal to tape he would delay the recording and then feed it back into the channel and this reflection would sound more like eight strings. In order to ‘beef up the kick drum on Meek s track ‘Have I The Right , he played the track and recorded people stomping on the floor in time to the bass drum. The worldwide success of ‘Telstar provided Joe Meek with a substantial income with which he upgraded his TR51 to an EMI BTR2. This slightly altered Meeks recording method. He would now record the rhythm track onto a full ¼ inch mono track on the BTR2 as the full track offered a superior recording ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These are the fears held by the U.S. and Israel when considering the possibility of Iranian nuclear weapons. However, the attitudes of the Obama administration in discussing potential deals with Iran have demonstrated a change in the U.S. strategy when interacting with an Iranian regime that desires nuclear capability. In recent months, Iran has made global headlines once again by asking for permission to develop and possess nuclear weapons within their state for the purpose of stabilizing the turbulent Middle East. This recent development has sparked a heated debate over the best way for the United States and Israel to respond to Iran s quest to obtain nuclear power in the Middle East, creating mounting tensions and polarization in American and global politics. The Obama administration aims to stabilize the Middle East by developing a diplomatic deal with Iran. However, the argument of Israel and the conservatives in Congress that Iran s potential nuclear capability brings much more risk and danger than reward is a much more realistic, pragmatic and appropriate viewpoint given the tensions and instability in the Middle East and the history of Iran s conflict with Western civilization. In that vein, we are seeing how the designs, use and meanings of these traditions change within the concepts of the contemporary processes in a globalized world (Lindsay Asquit, Marcel Vellinga, 2006). The societal effects are evident in the negotiation of identity, and the definition and value of key concepts like tradition, modernity and place (Lindsay Asquit, Marcel Vellinga, 2006). Can zoos eventually provide enough research to end endangerment of all animal species? The facts to back me up in this argument include, zoos help prevent extinction, zoos aid scientist s research, and lastly that they can heal injured animals. Some animal species in the world are endangered, such as the California condor. Endangerment means the amount of living organisms of this species is far below average and are in the threat of extinction. Extinction means that the whole species has died out. Statistics show that 21% of earth s mammal species are endangered and that 33% of all amphibian species are endangered. When it comes to this topic, zoos are major positives. Zoos will take in an animal, help it reproduce and survive, then release it back into the wild. This allows for less animals to become extinct. After years of dedication to her work she has invented the first time travel machine. We got to sit down with the genius herself after she returned back to 2078 from her first expedition. Dr. Penelope Fre spent 15 years developing her machine. Once she had finished testing the product and checking for safety she chose to go back in time to her favorite ancient civilization, Assyria. She left for her journey on April 20, 2078. Her journey of going back to 910 BCE was easy and fast using her patented technology. Dr. Fre told us about her view into the war machine that was Assyria during the Neo Assyrian Empire. She saw lots of fighting due to the damage to the civilization from the previous empire, where Assyria lost territory, power, and was invaded by numerous other civilizations. Among the fighting she saw the dry land of Assyria and got to experience the culture of the natives, she saw their alphabet used, heard the language, saw how they dressed and how they lived their lives. My first memory, of seeing light filtering through swaying trees above me, is indicative of the beauty and tranquility that nature has provided me throughout my life. Although I have always had an innate respect and enjoyment of the environment, this feeling was amplified every time i would visit my family in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico. The number of drops of stearic acid were calculated to see how much it will take to make a monolayer on the surface of water on the dish. (Goldwhite and Tikkanen) Theory The stearic acid is obtained from animal fats. The molecular formula is C17H35COOH and its composed of a hydrophilic acid group, COOH, and a hydrocarbon chain C17H35. The long hydrocarbon chain is like lubrication oil, because it does not have any affinity for water. In other words, when the stearic acid becomes in contact with water it doesn t mix in water. The hydrophobic chain floats upwards in a vertical position in the solution. (ChemSkills) When the stearic acid was dropped to the water it spreads across the surface until it creates a monolayer, a one molecule thick layer. The volume of stearic acid was calculated by determining the number of drops used to create the monolayer on the dish by using the following equation: V=(number of drops in monolayer ×(1 mL)/(drops per mL)×(concentration of stearic acid)/(1 mL))/(density of stearic acid) We calculated the surface area of the dish to determine the length of one molecule by using the following equations: 〖Surface Area〗_dish=π(d/2)^2 Length_(stearic acid)=V_monolayer/〖Surface Area〗_dish The hydrocarbon chain is the part of the stearic acid molecules to form the monolayer of thickness L. Nixon, Kissinger And The Rise Of Realpolitik Nixon, Kissinger and the Rise of Realpolitik: A Neoclassical Realist Approach to US Foreign Policy, 1969 1974 POLI 346 Professor Mark Brawley TA: Alice Chessé Topic 16 The Rise of Realpolitik The Nixon Kissinger partnership is considered by academics and policymakers as one of the most powerful collaborations in the history of US foreign policy. Richard Nixon appointed Henry Kissinger, Jewish German émigré, as his national security advisor during his presidency. Although the two came from vastly different backgrounds, their bond was marked by a strong sense of cohesion and agreement on key foreign policy challenges, such as overextension in Vietnam and the looming Soviet threat. The unlikely pair went on to fundamentally change the trajectory of the Cold War, and to usher in a new era in East West relations. Nixon and Kissinger s foreign policy was predicated on the European tradition of realpolitik a pragmatic approach to politics where the the state s strategic interests supersede its parochial and ideological convictions. This was a departure from the status quo where foreign policy was in large part denominated in a state s moral principles. Nixon and Kissinger s foreign policy could be seen to fall under the rubric of neoclassical realism: it incorporates both the systemic conditions faced by the state, and the internal material resources at the state s disposal to respond to external threats. This signifies the fact that Frost chose to compare Kay (the woman he fell for) to a silken tent. Frost may have chosen for the tent to be silk to express the soft beauty of Kay; after all, silk is normally described as beautiful, soft, and smooth. As the poem The Silken Tent goes on, the metaphors become complex and more and more are tangled within one another. This can symbolize how, as time went on, Frost s love for Kay, as well as their relationship, became more and more complicated. Frost uses ropes as a way to express that Kay is tied down by her duties, but he then goes on to say that all of the cords are loosely bound . In the last line of the poem, Frost explains that marriage is like a form of bondage. When married, a person is bound religiously, socially, and legally. However, Frost states that it is only a slight amount of bondage, showing that Kay s marriage wasn t constricting or strict. Lastly, by using light weather (such as sunny summer breeze and summer air ) in this particular poem, Frost evokes a feeling of happiness, signifying that Kay was a happy woman. Sharing this poem with the world, in its most romantic and personal form, took courage, causing even more people to flock towards Frost and his writing. All of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was having sharp pains. I couldn t sleep, or sit, and there is no way to get comfortable. A honeymoon should have been more enjoyable than that! Back to the surgeon again. Steroid Aromatization A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only.Prolonged use of steroids can lead to increased levels of estradiol in the blood and as a consequence of it to aromatization. I note here that this property have only the so called aromatizable steroids. Testosterone is considered to have the biggest incline to this process, of course. The second place occupies such a steroid as methandrostenolone. Boldenone and flyuksimetreon have more weak property of aromatization. There are steroids that can be converted to estradiol without the process of aromatization, these include nandrolone, norethandrolone and ethylestrenol. As with any side effect, this defect requires prolonged use or overdose. And the last thing I would like to discuss each person has an individual reaction to the estrogens in the blood because we are all different as banal as it may sound, some people even have immunity to the process of aromatization, and some on the contrary may be particularly inclined to this problem.Restoring the natural balance.Lets finish with the theory and go back to what we actually started with and what I wanted to tell you about, that is to anti estrogens. It is a mistake to assume that anti estrogen is a drug created specifically for men, as if it was created to suppress the development of the feminine in men. The situation is quite opposite, originally anti estrogens were created for women who had problems with an excess of estrogen in their bodies. For example, particularly large ... • 45. The Rubik s Cube How Architecture found Cubes The Rubik s cube, invented by Erno Rubik, is famously known as the Impossible puzzle. It was during the summer of my 7th grade that I first stumbled upon the Rubik s cube. The Rubik s cube is a cube with different colors on all sides. The goal is to be able to return the original look of the cube, with all the edges and corners corresponding to the center color of each face. People seem to think the cube is made out of 27 cubes, but it is actually made of a core. The other pieces fit in with the core to give the look of multiple cubes grouped together. I remembered the day vividly when I held the glamorous box with the Qi Yi BullFight (Name of the Rubik s Cube) inside. The cube felt special, it was an experience I had never encountered. Perfect. Made with care. I momentarily observed the cube, six sides, all with their beautifully covered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Architecture is the design of a building, just like the bones that make up the structure of a human being, and the way it forms as a basis for a design. The Rubik s cube is the pencil I use for drawing. The pencil is occasionally used, and sometimes, left alone. When I am focused, I can solve my difficulties, calm and controlled. Nevertheless, I can draw my imagination, however hard it maybe. However, when I am inattentive, it seems like a brick wall is stopping me from my solution. Although this pencil may cause me to stress out, it can also encourage me to try harder, and seek out the hidden solution even with the massive brick wall in the way. My love of architecture connects with the cube because solving problems in puzzles is just like thinking through and designing something. In addition, whenever I open my vision to the many designs in the world, it brings me back to the Rubik s cube and architecture. The many designs act like the algorithms in the cube, you sometimes make errors, and you sometimes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. What Does The Vietnam Wall Mean Does fear and reverence have the power to provoke people? In the short story, Once Upon A Time, the author Nadine Gordimer, uses symbolism to convey how fear coupled with apartheid can have devastating themes. On the contrary, in Alberto Rios poem The Vietnam Wall, Rios shows how a little black marble wall has the magic to connect and affect diverse communities. Rios uses imagery in his poem to convey themes of thanksgiving and reverence. Overall, the symbolism and imagery both convey an idea about the individual s roles in society. To begin with, the symbolism in the short story portrays fear and apartheid as the themes. The characters and the setting both play a role in the symbolism. Additionally, Gordimer uses witches associated reputation to indicate that this particular character will be vile in the fairytale aspect. The wise old witch (the husband s mother) serves as the privileged whites who firmly encouraged apartheid. She warned the family not to take anyone off the street. Gordimer connotes anyone to the colored South Africans. She didn t want anyone that was colored to enter their home. Furthermore, the glorified, blood curdling, protective wall embodies segregation. The disturbing walls that were ameliorated in the short story, serves as a figurative force that further divides the whites from the rest of the population (outsiders). Moreover, the little boy and his pets epitomize blissful ignorance. Throughout most of the paranoia the parents participated in and perpetuated, the young boy and his pets were playful, and entirely oblivious of everything.
