To Kill A Mockingbird Atticus Quotes
Heavenly Treasures Atticus Finch, one of the main characters in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee,
displays many positive personality traits. A widower and gentle father of two children, Scout and Jem,
Atticus not only treats his family with fairness, but his friends and neighbors as well. An African
American man in their community has been accused of a rape crime. Atticus feels strongly that the
man s innocence will prevail. Since Atticus is a lawyer, he decides he must do the right thing. He must
defend the accused. Known by many as a kind, impartial, and respectful man, Atticus earns a good
name in his small community. No matter the person, Atticus always treated people with kindness. A
neighbor of the Finchs, Mrs. Dubose, spoke harshly to Atticus as well as to his children, Jem and
Scout. Instead of getting frustrated at Mrs. Dubose, he understood that she suffered from illness.
Therefore, he chose to treat her with kindness. Easy does it, son, Atticus would say. She s an old lady
and she s ill. You just hold your head high and be a gentleman. Whatever she says to you, it s your job
not to let her make you mad. (133) Atticus rarely spoke in a harsh tone. He remained kind, even
during the hard times, because he deeply cared for others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Scout said that she wanted to try and see their shut in neighbor, Boo Radley, Atticus
discouraged her. He was impartial and respected that the Radleys, along with everyone else, deserve
their privacy. At another time, Scout had a conversation with her Uncle Jack, after she and Francis
quarreled. She told her Uncle Jack that he wasn t fair like Atticus. Well, in the first place, you never
stop to gimme a chance to tell you my side of it you just lit right into me. When Jem an I fuss Atticus
doesn t ever just listen to Jem s side of it, he hears mine too... (113) Atticus exhibits fairness with his

Minneapolis: Augsburg Books, 2006.
This resource asserts that stewardship is not just about how much money they give to the church. It is
about helping them make better decisions financially. A church also has to realize that they could be
giving to other organizations, but they are giving to the church. Do not take this for granted. It also has
a section on the biblical text development of stewardship. This would be helpful to identify key
passages.

The Male s Role In The Aztec Civilization
The Aztec Civilization started out as a nomadic tribe. This means that they moved places a lot. They
were also polytheistic. This means that they believed in many gods, not just one. They also had a very
complicated belief system. Everything was focused on the gods. They believed that if they make
human sacrifices to the sun god, the sun will always rise and the world will stay. If they didn t, the sun
will never rise and the world will end. This belief included taking their human sacrifice away from
their tribe and then stabbing them, taking their heart out of their chest, rising it into the sun and
skinning them. The male and females had different roles. The male s role was to participate in war,

much respected woman. Before the child is born, the midwife offers emotional support to the woman
carrying the baby about how to protect the unborn child. They also protected the unborn child and the
woman in a way. They would have to warn the woman to not look at red objects because it would
cause the child to be born in the wrong position. The women s role in the Aztec civilization was to get
married and become a housewife. They would get married around the age of 15. Sometimes they
would get married as young as 10 or 12. They were entitled and chosen for marriage unless they chose
to devote their lives to temple service. They could be priestess. When the girl is an infant, they can be
dedicated to the priesthood. When the woman is a priestess, they had to sweep the temple and the
court everyday, water the garden, and make food for the idols and priests. They would also have to be
involved in some rituals to the gods in which they would assist the priest in sacrifices in idol worship.
If they didn t want to do that, when they get older, they could either stay or leave the priesthood and

Gender Based Combat Exclusion Rule
Research Report In 2013 the current secretary of defense Leon Panetta disabled the gender based
combat exclusion rule. Since then numerous steps have been taken to ensure women get the same
opportunities as men in combat. Women will now be candidates for more than 230,00 jobs in both the
army and marines, but that is not the only step being taken. President Obama has shown his support
for women to fight in combat. In an article created by usa today he was quoted for saying things like

This is a proud day for our country and the step we need to formally recognize the brave women who
are already fighting and dying for our country shoulder to shoulder with their brothers in uniform on
the frontlines. Although everything being said about women fighting in combat has been positive. Lots
of people have been bringing up the effect that this will have on the women, their bodies, and the

Differences In Competency Related To The Associates And
DIFFERENCES IN COMPETENCY RELATED TO THE ASSOCIATES AND BACHELORS
DEGREE IN NURSING This discussion will describe the differences between Associates Degree in
Nursing and the Bachelors of Science in Nursing have to do with a good theoretical understanding of
diseases and health management in regards to competency. Years ago nursing was not considered a
career; it was considered a profession that was practically unwanted and undesirable. The role of
nurses provides a safe and healthy environment to provide patients to live in an optimistic health. It is

an essential component for sustaining an adequate supply of nursing practitioners, midwives, and
clinical nurse specialists ,as well as nurse educators. There has been many debates and controversy on

Toyota s Recommendation Response At The World s Largest...
Q3: Toyota s recommended response to Volkswagen s ambition of becoming the world s largest
automobile manufacturer, based on the analysis of current market trends, would be to somewhat
disregard them, rather they should focus on developing their own competitive advantages that allowed
them to achieve the title of market leader. Volkswagen plans to grow in Chinese and Indian markets
(De Moraes, 2016). They also aim to double sales in America by 2018 (Kresge and Weiss, 2015), by
following their clean diesel strategy (The Economist, 2015a: 15). Nevertheless, the 2015 emissions
scandal destroyed this ambition (Farrell, 2015). Widespread recalls and suspended sales led to a loss
of market share (Kresge and Weiss, 2015) and fostered a bad reputation within America (The
Economist, 2015b). In 2015, Toyota defended their lead in sales ahead of Volkswagen (The Telegraph,
2015). Toyota developed cost advantages with their production system , Volkswagen found it difficult
to replicate such optimisation due to union pressure rife in Germany (De Moraes, 2016: 465).
Furthermore, to defend their title, Toyota adopted strategies of lean manufacturing, strict supplier
control and highly efficient distribution (Schonberger, 1994). Toyota can strengthen their leadership
by developing more environmentally friendly technologies. Volkswagen s emission scandal
encouraged the demise of diesel, opening up lucrative industries in methane, hydrogen and electricity
powered vehicles (The

Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, is a form of chronic skin condition. An estimated 15 20% of
children in New Zealand suffer from this. There have been numerous studies examining the
relationship between eczema and quality of life. Results reveal that as severity is high, quality of life is
low. Although these researches provide evidence for the effects of eczema, they do not examine the
effects of eczema and self esteem on the severity of eczema together. This current proposed research
aims to identify whether quality of life and self esteem has an impact on severity for children aged
between two and eighteen in a cross sectional design. It is hypothesized that quality of life will be

Psychoneuroimmunology looks at the relationship between psychosocial influences, mind, behaviour,
immune system and patient s health (Webber, 2010). An underlying model of research is that when an
individual is faced with a stressful event, their immune system worsens which leads to a decline in
their health. There are two ways in which stress affects an individual s health; directly and indirectly.
Direct stresses are those where physiological changes are a result of stress related arousal such as
damage to blood vessels. An example of this is the patient scratching the affected area when a flare up
occurs. This leads to stress in the bodily system causing the severity to exacerbate. On the other hand,
indirect stress is stressors that are related to a change in behaviour or thinking in the individual which
then leads to illness. An example would be a decline in quality of life as a result of eczema flare up,
leading to teasing from peers and a change in their thinking. As a result, their self esteem decreases
leading to an increase in eczema severity. There have been studies conducted to indicate that eczema
flare ups are a result of everyday psychosocial stress such as death of a loved one or even school or
work related stress. Stress has also been found to change the homeostasis of the skin barrier which
results in flare ups of eczema (Choi et al., 2005 cited by

Also, they have a negative effect on morale of employees leading to poor performance. The impact of
this article is that it nurtures the leaders understanding of concepts associated with people skills,
enhancing their relationships with their subordinates/followers, improving the culture in an

this paper, leaders get a results driven people skills model that helps them eliminate potential biases,
increase social intelligence and improve interpersonal skills (Norris, 2009).
Over 50% of leaders and managers fail. There are many factors leading to these failures, with poor
working relationships and communication failures being considered significant contributors (Ivey,

positive outcomes in employees and abusive supervision and monitoring to negative outcomes in
employee performance. According to them, to achieve the former and eliminate the later, leaders need
to strive to create a culture that is fair, ethical and equitable in order for employees to be respectful and

these. Therefore, another impact of the article is that it helps leaders and managers to reduce

The Difference Between Service Learning, Volunteerism And...
Many people get the terms service learning, volunteerism and community service mixed together. All
three were made to make a difference somewhere or in someone s life. The main difference between
these services are the primary intentions of the programs. Service learning primary purpose is to learn
from the experience and to improve their skills. By doing so, they are helping those in need.
Volunteering and community service have the most in common, except the fact that community
service can be done without a voluntary basis. Those services are done without the purpose of learning
something from it, even though they can have a learning experience. Even though most are volunteers
doing the job, many can be paid to volunteer, mainly by their job that persuades their employees to do
so.
Houston Food Bank is a private non profit organization. They were established in 1982 and are a
certified member of Feeding America. Their focus is to help end hunger by distributing the most meals
possible to those in need. They can provide 83,000,000 meals a year, which they are trying to improve
in. Most of the meals they pack up are sent to pantries and other organizations that need food for
individuals and families. Usually, food banks do not distribute their meals, but Houston Food Bank
does. With the help of volunteers, they can sort, pack and distribute food. Most of the food given to
them are provided from donors, local companies around the city, and USDA. The food given to them
would go to waste without their help and the volunteers who make the meals happen. I attended the
Houston Food Bank, and while I was there, I could tell they have strong teamwork within the
organization. All the employees knew what to do and how to handle that many volunteers. They all
communicated with the volunteers with a professional, friendly way. They could get everyone who
came in to sign in and get everything set up to start the day. I was not able to tell one thing that went
wrong. It was impressive how neatly and organized they had the building. The atmosphere, at least for
me, made me feel involved and wanting to come back.

Comparing The Film Cinderella And Charles Perrault s...
A Fairytale s Interpretation Movies create a new medium for fairytales to be enjoyed. The visual
appeal of tales is much greater rather than reading them; however, fairytale films lack an element of
imagination. Cinderella, for example, is a tale that exists in both the written and visual mediums. The
tale as written by Charles Perrault, named The Little Glass Slipper, provides room for imaginative
visual interpretation from his words. An interpretation that movies do not allow. In both the film
version and Perrault s written version, for instance, the audience receives the image of the glass
slipper. The written version allows the audience to imagine the glass slipper in whichever way they
see fit; the film portrays the glass slipper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using words in a fairytale would be more difficult and tedious to explain this part of the story. Films
do provide a visual stimulation for audiences, and this Cinderella live action movie provides an
interesting depiction of the fairytale.
Charles Perrault s The Little Glass Slipper provides a readable version of the Cinderella fairytale. This
well known version of Cinderella was not his first take of this tale, which may be how it became so
famous: he managed all the kinks out of the tale for it to be child and adult friendly. This written tale
gives you more context to the tale by the language used. The wording in the story provide deeper
meaning by the connotation of the words. Such language includes odious, wretched, wench,
magnificent, charming, and treasure. These words have ideas around them that associate feelings and
previous experiences. These feelings allow the audience to use their own imagination and experiences
to illustrate the fairytale. When Perrault describes Cinderella s treatment from her step family, this
scene can identify with many readers, thus making their own inferences about the visual aspect of the
tale and its characters. An example would be interpreting it as the demeaning hands and knees labor
while scrubbing soot off the floor. Others can view their own version of hard labor.
Charles Perrault s The Little Glass Slipper shares plot similarities with the Disney film version, but

Tanning Case Study
In the article, Many Colleges Have Tanning Salons on or Near Campus; Some Accept Campus Cash,
Health Magazine is arguing that even though tanning has been proven to increase the chances of
cancer, colleges are promoting tanning. The tanning services being offered are often found on or near
college campus s. While this may passively reinforce tanning and harmful nature, as a salon business
owner I would put aside the unethical choices, and make decisions in what is best for marketing
choices. As I see it promoting this near campus tanning salon movement and using demographic
techniques can affect the salon marketing industry in both good and bad ways. Even though I may not
agree with teenage tanning, I feel that by using this marketing tactic the sales forecast will plummet.
By providing campus cash services, the business owner will be able to increase the chances of the
students entering the salon. Many college students can not afford to pay for extra tanning costs,
however if they are able to use campus cash they will more likely to use tanning facilities. This
movement promotes marketers and business owners into wanting to open a salon near a college
campus. If the business owner comes to an agreement with the nearest ... Show more content on

true? In the story, there are two different fathers. The first man, known as Morton or Larry s father, is
described city pale and cooped up all week inside the gray factory like university . Morton is a
university professor, and in stereotype, society expects a professor to be intelligent, polite, and

encourages Joe to continue. Joe s father defines the themes on the roles of men and behaviors. Being
completely different from Morton, Joe s father can be presented as a stereotypical man. He obviously
knows how to stand up for himself and earn the best for him and his son. He does not back down like
Morton and immediately gains what he has fought for with his actions. Just by slowly looking over

Healthcare Regulation Simulation Paper
The presented article from the New England Journal of Medicine discusses the relationship between
the changes in healthcare regulation and the ways in which these changes serve to diminish concerns
from the general public. The nature of the global health law system was then discussed and it was
identified that in place of a treaty monitoring body are several soft and hard law instruments that the
World Health Organization (WHO) utilizes to establish the legal norms that serve to establish the best
practices in healthcare throughout the world (Gostin Sridhar, 2014). Healthcare regulation at the
international level is carried out via a combination of laws which are established at the national level

In the summer of 2015 I took an emergency trip to Mexico, little did I know i d witness some beautiful

warming and not blinding but just shiny just enough to not have to squint as we progresses the steep

rocks began to take over the steep hill. One more mile on the narrow trails lead to wide paths onces

The Importance Of Favorites In The Family
Favorites in the Family: How Birth Order affects parental favoritism in the role of the family and what
it means for the rest of the children When children ask their parents which sibling they like the most,
the majority of parents will answer something to the extent of, I love all of my children equally, or I
don t have a favorite. Although it would be nice if these statements were true, most parents have a
favorite in one way or another. Parents and socially acceptable parenting styles have evolved over
time, but parental favoritism for children has not. Each child in a family, favorite child or not, has their
own personality. Although these traits are sometimes heightened when they are the favorite child,
these personalities hold true for youngest, middle, and oldest children. The first born children tend to
be the strong leaders that strive for achievement in order to impress their parents. If the oldest is not
perceived as the favorite, it may cause them to try even harder to impress their parents and prove to
them why they should be the favorite. The youngest children tend to be the most rebellious, but also
the ones who grow up to be the best with people. Youngest children also aim to have the most
attention from parents growing up. The middle child tends to be the family peacekeeper. They are the
most agreeable and help settle arguments when needed.
In one third to two thirds of families, parents favor one or more of their children in at least one aspect

Stephen Jay Gould s Critique Of The Bell Curve
After reading and analyzing The Bell Curve, one is left in a confused state of whether Gould s
arguments are realistic or not. Many have gone against his dissertation and some believe it is true. The
Bell Curve argues that IQ can determine the success of a person, and it can vary in between races.
Others such as Gould, believe that the IQ test is inadequate due to the fact that it is not based on life
circumstances. The main controversy after the bell curve was published was whether the authors were
racist and if intelligence was determined by race. Critics have since proven that the Bell Curve is
inaccurate and intelligence is not only measured by tests and is not affected by certain circumstances
such as race. Stephen Jay Gould s Critique of The Bell Curve is one of the most popular arguments

19th century physician, Samuel George Morton, who amassed a collection of almost 1,000 skulls from
around the world. Morton estimated the brain size of different racial groups by pouring seed and lead
shot into the skulls. He concluded that whites have larger brains on average than blacks, confirming
his suspicion that the races do not share a common ancestry but stemmed from different evolutionary
roots. In Mismeasure, Gould reanalyzed Morton s skull measurements and concluded that the average
sizes of blacks and whites skulls were roughly equivalent. Gould suggested that Morton s racial bias
had led him to discover results consonant with his beliefs. Horgan believes that maybe Gould was
wrong that Morton misrepresented his data, but he was absolutely right that biological determinism

be acceptable in some countries while others cannot stand a sight of it. MTV has to find a right
balance for the every sub cultural group in the Middle East.
Cultural differences between MTV and Arabs
MTV is coming from the western world and it is well known for airing explicit sexually, open and
provocative programs. MTV is very open and it carries an image of western pop culture along with it.
As far as everyone may have noticed, Arab people are one of the most conservative people in the
world today. Some Arab females are wearing clothed mask to conceal themselves, they are not
suppose to show any part of their body to strangers. Family is highly value for the Arab, the head of
the family has ultimate authorization in everything that is going on in the family. MTV value
individualism and encourage people to speak and stand up for themselves. This image went contrary
to the socially conservative culture of the Middle East, and it could be a key bottleneck to the channel

THE RIGHT AND THE GOOD IN HOBBES S THEORY ON MORAL PHILOSOPHY Mr. Hobbes s
Leviathan is one of the many outstanding philosophers that wrote books on moral philosophy and their
meaning. Hobbes explains in a clear and engaging manner that makes his Statement thesis clear from
the start: Man can be a self interested animal, and that this self interest is enough to create a justified
and obligatory ways of justice, citizenship, and morality. He mentions in his thesis right from the
beginning and is the basis for his theory that all things dealing with ethical thinking one general
thought generate the answer; that is the reason for accepting self interest of all mankind. Even though
his theory sounds like the perfect society in which a person is looking out for everyone, I believe that
this theory attempts to define and in turn reduce our general concept of morality into the simplest form
of self interest. No matter how this argument is formed, there is a group of ethical actions in which the
morality is true, but the consequences are false. In most cases where the self interest of a person in the
society is in contradiction. In this paper I will explain a class of people that I will refer to as Jamaican
freeloaders. Jamaican Freeloaders are the populace in Jamaican culture who use other people also who
try to get something for nothing. They get it by any means possible and freely. I will show that Hobbes

Defining Social Roles for Men and Women in India through...
Social Roles for Men and Women in India through Traditional Hindu Texts Throughout this essay, I
will discuss the social roles of men and women in the home, within rituals and within creation. I will
look at the roles of a husband and wife, as well as Goddesses and Kings. The main traditional texts
that support these roles are the Rg Veda, the Kalpa Sutras, the epics (the Ramayana and Mahabharata),
Tryambaka, and Manu Smrti. They are believed to lay the foundations for order in society, as well as
giving people the knowledge of their duty. I will show how these separate texts have defined roles
within castes and genders and show how their different styles of writings have defined roles in
different ways. A person s role in society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first three are called the twice born. This is brought about by the initiation ceremony (upanayana)
at which they are ceremonially reborn and assume the sacred thread. The Saudras are not permitted to
perform this ceremony. There is also a class called the `Untouchables , which are outside the caste
system as they are too polluted and contact with whom was considered polluting. These people deal
with things that are seen as polluted, e.g. bodily fluid and certain animals. All these different classes
determine a person s duty in society. A person s duty in known as their `Dharma . This is dependant on
their caste, as well as their age and Gender. For example a woman s duty in the Brahmanical caste
would be different from a mans. This is mainly because a woman is prohibited from reading the Veda.
It is believed that this is one of the six things that cause a woman to fall. This was written in the
Stridharmapaddhati of Tryambakayajvan, (guide to the religious status and duties of women). A
person s age also comes into account. The main sources of Dharma are believed to be in the Veda, the
Kalpa Sutras, as well as the epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata. All these texts have helped to
shape what peoples duties are in life, as I will show later on in this essay. The main feature that
dharma brings to society is a sense of social structure or

Nt1330 Week 1 Case Study Of EAP
This case project EAP researches EAP. What is EAP?
Introduction
EAP was originally created as an extension to PPP to allow for the development of arbitrary network
access authentication methods. With PPP authentication protocols such as Challenge Handshake
Authentication Protocol (CHAP), Microsoft Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (MS
CHAP), and MS CHAP version 2 (MS CHAP v2), a specific authentication mechanism is chosen
during the link establishment phase. During the authentication phase, the negotiated authentication
protocol allows the exchange of information about the credentials of the connecting client. The
authentication protocol is a fixed series of messages sent in a specific order.

Horse Behavior Analysis
Deemed the most dangerous animal veterinary students must work with, horse behavior is often
misunderstood among even the most well versed horsemen (Gronqvist, Rogers, Gee, Martinez,
Bolwell, 2017). Equines have a complex range of emotions which are expressed through specific body
language well known to owners. Sometimes these aggressive and/or anxious actions can show up
suddenly which leaves caretakers confused and looking for a solution. The behaviors specifically
include standoffish movements, biting, kicking, pinning ears back, and other similar actions. Not only
can this sudden change in demeanor be concerning, but it can also be a hazard to anyone around the
animal. These outbursts can be triggered by situations such as past experiences, ... Show more content

This would be a specified amount of exercise through riding, and ground care such as grooming and
hand grazing. The dependent variable is the observed demeanor which is ranked on the behavior scale
that ranges from one (complacent), to seven (vicious). This scale system is formulated based off of
groupings of body language and how dangerous they are to potential handlers. Data on temperament is
recorded daily with a point value from the scale awarded to each horse at the end of each encounter.
When averaged, a decreasing weekly score suggests that the animal s behavior is less aggressive over
time. Therefore, the demeanor of the animal is judged to be improving. Any aggression seen in the
pasture is not be taken in to account since this is deemed naturalistic within a herd. During this study, I
am assuming that the horses are receiving similar amounts of attention. Also, I will assume that the
animals are not acting out in response to another issue, such as a hormonal imbalance or mating. In
this way, results will suggest that the behavior is not psychological (in other words, related to
emotion), but instead physiological (medical). I expect internal validity since these animals are not
giving any specific treatment currently. Any specific change in behavior indicates a causal relationship
among the variables. One consideration is that my sample size is small, but this is not uncommon
when dealing with studies in the equine field. Another is that some animals may have past
psychological damage since many are rescues. It is possible that aggression is in response to unknown
problems (masked medical issues) that have no relation to behavior. This would mean that attention
would not provoke a change. As a final consideration, the study would take place during mating
season which could cause some natural aggression. A Kennesaw Mountain High School IRB

Indian Politics
Politics of India India is the largest democracy in the world. India has the biggest number of people
with franchise rights and the largest number of political parties, which take part in election campaign.
In the 1996 national elections, almost 600 million people voted and an average of 26 candidates
competed for each of the 543 territorial constituency seats. Elections are held at different levels. The
two major election levels are at national level, after which the national government is established and
at state level after which the state government is established. Elections are also held for city, town and

some regional level. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these elections members for the Lower House are elected. Head of a state is called Chief Minister,
who is member of the Lower House. Constitutionally the figurehead of the state is the Governor, who
is appointed by the President according to the advice of the national government. After the state
elections the governor calls for the suitable candidate to form the government. In general the governor
has more legislative rights at state level than the President has at national level. The governor can call
on early elections in the state, or fire the government if he thinks that the government has failed or is
unstable. In the federal relations between the state and central government, the central government has
more authority on state matters than the state government. For example the central government has the
right to redistribute the state borders without consulting the state governments on this matter. If the
political conditions in any state are not stable, the national government can call on the President to
declare President s rule in that specific state. And so the government in that state is dissolved, which
means an emergency rule is declared and sometimes if necessary the army is put to work in that state.

process, there can be other pressures like strong lobbies or strong political parties, which, sometimes

What Is A Freudian Analysis Of Young Goodman Brown
The Intellectual Appeasement for a Psychosexual Author:
A Freudian Analysis of Young Goodman Brown
Nathaniel Hawthorne, was an author in the 19th century. He grew up in Massachusetts, in the town of
Salem. Hawthorne s ancestral family was very influential, wealthy and viewed as upstanding puritans.
In fact, his great great grandfather held a pivotal role of a judge, during the 16th century, Salem witch
trials. Hawthorne strongly believed that the wrongdoing of one generation lives into the successive
ones (Quotery). That being said, he convinced himself to be the successor of his family s puritanical
behavior. While reading Hawthorne s literary work Young Goodman Brown , I can infer the story s
underlying motivation is driven by the author s guilt, for having puritan ancestors. In addition, we
must apply Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic criticism to analyze Hawthorne s literature. Sigmund
Freud is the founding father of psychoanalytic criticism; whose theories and practices provided him
the foundation for his critical method. Freud believed people had suppressed desires they
unconsciously refused to confront. Thus, Freud concluded that the unconscious component of a human
s mind contains...[their] biographical memories but also stores...[their] suppressed and unresolved
conflicts (Bressler 125). For this reason, Hawthorne s irrational thoughts and desires, become evident
in his writing. For this purpose, I will apply Freud s three part structural model, (the superego,

been evaluated first hand by friends, family, top beauty gurus, and me. I will evaluate the price,
product coverage, and color spectrum of each product. The price determines affordability and product
quality. Product coverage tells how much surface area the makeup will cover and how much product is
used to achieve that coverage. The final and perhaps most important quality of a foundation brand is
the color spectrum available. If a brand only limits itself to the skin tones of a light skin African
American or even a tanned Caucasian then that brand is not considered POC, People of Color,
friendly. Product range matters, especially when trying to reach a large audience. Starting with Kat
Von D s Lock it Foundation, this foundation is for those who are trying to look their absolute best 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. The Lock it Foundation is a high end product with a selection of 30
different shades ranging from Light to Deep. It also includes cool, neutral, and ... Show more content

The Teint Idole Foundation comes in 39 shades covering nearly all dark skinned women of color as
well as women with more fair skin and everything in between. Although, this product pushes the price
a bit it is definitely worth it. Because of the coverage quality of this product the amount of the product
used is very small. The consumer can choose to add more layers of foundation if desired, but this
product will last at least a year after purchase. With its 24 hour claim the consumer never has to worry
about reapplying their makeup or worrying about patchy

Comparing and Contrasting Clinton and Connerly s Speeches...
Comparing and Contrasting Clinton and Connerly s Speeches on Affirmative Action Bill Clinton was
the 42nd President of the United States. Elected in 1992 and again in 1996, Clinton served as
President until January of 2001, when George W. Bush became the 43rd President. Ward Connerly is
the founder and chairman of the American Civil Rights Institute. He has gained national attention as
an outspoken advocate of equal opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race, sex, or ethnic
background. In this paper, I will discuss the position of these two politicians from affirmative action, I
will highlight how each of them thinks about affirmative action, whether he sees it beneficial or
harmful to the American society, and how he argues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He blamed this divisiveness on those who believe that skin color and gender should entitle certain
groups of people to some benefits while denying them from other for no reason but racial preferences:
Do we not believe it was divisive when those from an earlier period said slavery was immoral? Was it
not divisive when our nation s people fought among themselves over this very issue? Was it not
divisive when we sent troops into Montgomery and Selma, Alabama to protect the rights of people
like Rosa Parks and James Meredith to ensure their right to sit wherever they wanted on a bus and to
attend a college that wasn t segregated?
Yes, those were divisive times. But the seeds of division are not planted by those of us who seek to
eliminate racial and ethnic preferences; they are planted by those who believe that our skin color and
gender and how we spell our last names should entitle us to the harvest of diversity ― college
admission, government employment, and contracts. (Connerly 5)
Clinton began to give many examples of discrimination practices that used to happen as early as
1960s. He explained how blacks was denied attending segregated schools and universities, how the
streets in black neighborhood weren t paved, and how the restrooms were marked WHITE and
COLORED even in courthouse squares. Most of the powerful positions and even decent jobs were
limited to white men:

Descartes Vs Newton
Sir Isaac Newton, Rene Descartes, and Galileo are three very important people who have carved out
many important milestones in scientific, mathematical, and philosophical history. Sir Isaac Newton
was a physicist and mathematician who played a huge role in the scientific revolution. Rene Descartes
was a both a philosopher and mathematician who later become deemed as the father of modern
philosophy. Lastly, Galileo Galilei was an engineer, physicist, mathematician, and philosopher who
also played a major role in the scientific revolution. Although these three men were monumental in
history, all three had similarities and differences within their works and inventions that they created
over time.
One similarity that all three men possessed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Galileo established the principle of inertia which coincides with Newton s first law that states, that an
object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced
force. The difference, however, for the two men is that during the time that Galileo was around he was
persecuted and thrown in jail for his beliefs while Newton would be applauded for his findings.
Since Galileo was so much earlier than Descartes, and Newton his work was ridiculed more than the
other two. This was a difference from Descartes and Newton that is significant because even though
his finding were important people never fully grasped the realm of his work because he was unable to
speak up about findings. He was even thrown in jail and on house arrest because people did not agree
and did not want to hear what he had to say. Descartes and Newton were never condemned to the
extent that Galileo was.
Even though Descartes and Newton were both scholarly and knowledgeable in the field of science
they had different ideas on some things. During Newton s studies he placed alot of importance on
philosophical principles that would be the basis of experimental science, while Descartes in his
principles of philosophy determined that reason, rather than experimentation , would be the way to

Circles Circles are a versatile RJ practice that can be used proactively and preventively to build

the value of every member and recognize our interconnectedness as well as challenging each person in

Constitution enumerates certain powers for the federal government; the Tenth Amendment provides
that any powers that are not enumerated in the Constitution are reserved for the states. Congress has
often used the Commerce Clause to justify exercising legislative power over the activities of states and

Negative Effects of Television Essay
Negative Effects of Television
I hear the door slam abruptly and a thud from something hitting the ground. It s about 3:15, so my
sister should be home. I bring her backpack into the living room as I see her fixated on the television. I
tell her to put it away and she says ok, whatever. She gets to her room and not two seconds later does
her TV click on in her room. I ask her if she wants to play catch, No that s alright. She always loved to
play catch, what about some basketball I ask her, No, maybe some other time, she says as her eyes are
glued to the box. Is television so addictive that it makes everything else look unattractive? It is very

Secondly, television has made children more violent. Television not only makes children more violent,
but it also makes children more fearful to the world around them. Cyndy Scheibe describes how
parents are concerned about violence on television. A big problem is that not only does adult crime
dramas include violence, but so do cartoons and slapstick comedies. Scheibe explains some other
effects of violence on television are that children may become less sensitive to the pain and suffering
of others in reality and television. She also states that children may behave in aggressive and harmful
ways to others. Scheibe says the reason for this is, The impact of TV violence on aggression seems to
be partly due to imitation of the aggressive actions that children see (particularly if they are done by
the good guys ) and partly due to the message that aggression works to get what you want and it s
okay to use aggression it you are justified in doing so. (Scheibe p1) Agreeing with Scheibe, Talia
Trigilio also says violence in television makes kids more aggressive. Cartoons carry a lot of violent
content, 46% of violence is found in cartoons. Trigilio said, I was shocked to stumble across the
statistic that there were more violent acts in an hour of Saturday morning television than during prime
time. (Trigilio p4) A Common show like the Power Rangers is interpreting violence is fantasy but

Definition Of Administrative Access Controls Essay
1. Administrative access controls define the human factors of security (Red Hat, n.d.). An example
would be having mandatory training before getting access to a certain room. If you do not complete
the training, then you will not have access. Other examples of administrative access controls include
personnel registration, recovery plans, and disaster preparedness. Physical access controls are the
implementation of security measures in a defined structure used to deter or prevent unauthorized
access to sensitive material and include restricted access rooms that require a badge, password, or
some other special permission to enter (Red Hat, n.d.). An example of this would be not related to
computers is a barhop standing at the door making sure only 21+ adults enter. In a computer or
business example, this could be only letting the IT guy have access to the data center. He would have
either a special card to let him in or he would have to make a phone call and use a special passphrase
to be granted access into the otherwise locked room. Technical access controls use technology as a
basis for controlling the access and usage of sensitive data throughout a physical structure and over a
network (Red Hat, n.d.). They include tools used for identification, authentication, authorization, and
accountability. They are software components that enforce access control measures for systems,
programs, process, and information (Harris, 2012). Technical access controls are

Analysis Of The Movie Demi Lovato Essay
After Leaving Disney, Demi Lovato has become one of pop cultures leading motivational figures.
Taking a stand and talking to Congress about un smearing mental illness. Singing songs about self
acceptance and openly discussing her struggles with bipolar disorder, bulimia, and substance abuse.
Lovato has become confident with the person she is now and hopes that by opening up about her
darkest time she can reach out to others who are fighting the same fight. At only 18 years old, Lovato
became overwhelmed with the work, popularity, and media attention she was attracting being a
successful actress, singer, song writer, and charity spokesperson. Being a pop star with problems
finally became obvious the summer of 2010, backstage after a concert, Lovato attacked one of her
back up dancers. She was sent to rehab where the truth was revealed that she had stopped eating
regularly, taken up drinking, drugging, self harm and purging. Lovato completed a three month course
at Timberline Knolls; an in patient treatment center, which specializes in helping women with eating
and mood disorders. After being released Lovato went on Good Morning America and discussed
everything that had happened, knowing her story was too public to hide. Even tweeting about rehab
and openly sharing the fact that she had been staying in a sober living facility. She put herself out
there in a way that was not about attention getting and more about self discovery. She explained how

Football Game Essay
Today is May 3, 2016, the day we take on the best team in our conference. The coach announced
yesterday that I, Tyler Bush would be on the mound against the 12 0 Red Raiders. The feeling I have
cannot even be explained in words. To think not one team has been within five points of defeating
them is hard to believe. I don t know whether to be excited because coach would put the ball in my
hands against the Red Raiders or nervous because I do not want to be embarrassed when we lose 20 0.
Now I have to sit and wait through six and a half hours of people saying I do not want to go tonight
just to get our asses kicked. , This games going to suck bro. . Now I m just horrified because everyone
knows what the result is going to be.

Our batters our having no luck against the darts that their pitcher is throwing. As we have not received
a hit in the first five innings. The game was still tied 0 0, as I once again headed back out to the mound
at the bottom of the fifth inning to take on the heart of the lineup. The previous four innings went
smoothly with the opponent only getting four hits. My confidence level was high, three more innings
and we will be walking out of here with a win. But, going through the four, five, six batters will be a
major obstacle. As the game proceeds, I am getting more and more nervous every pitch.
As I released my go to pitch, I thought it would blow right by the hitter. But I thought wrong. The 6 3,
200 pounder cranked the ball down the right field line for a stand up triple. My hope in the matter of a
split second went down the drain. With my confidence level at its all time low, all I wanted to do was
take a seat. I knew that was not an option. But the road is not getting easier, as the 6 3, 200 pounders
brother approached the plate. I knew I had to strike him out in order to have any chance at winning
this game. My second pitch of the inning, gone, out of the park. I just ruined an amazing performance
by our entire team in the matter of 2 pitches. I felt as if my team lost all hope. From that point on, the
game was over.
On the bus ride home, everyone was acting like their normal selves. Like we

A widower and gentle father of two children, Scout and Jem, Atticus not only treats his family with fairness, but his friends and neighbors as well. An African American man in their community has been accused of a rape crime. Atticus feels strongly that the man s innocence will prevail. Since Atticus is a lawyer, he decides he must do the right thing. He must defend the accused. Known by many as a kind, impartial, and respectful man, Atticus earns a good name in his small community. • 9. Toyota s Recommendation Response At The World s Largest... Q3: Toyota s recommended response to Volkswagen s ambition of becoming the world s largest automobile manufacturer, based on the analysis of current market trends, would be to somewhat disregard them, rather they should focus on developing their own competitive advantages that allowed them to achieve the title of market leader. Volkswagen plans to grow in Chinese and Indian markets (De Moraes, 2016). They also aim to double sales in America by 2018 (Kresge and Weiss, 2015), by following their clean diesel strategy (The Economist, 2015a: 15). Nevertheless, the 2015 emissions scandal destroyed this ambition (Farrell, 2015). Widespread recalls and suspended sales led to a loss of market share (Kresge and Weiss, 2015) and fostered a bad reputation within America (The Economist, 2015b). In 2015, Toyota defended their lead in sales ahead of Volkswagen (The Telegraph, 2015). Toyota developed cost advantages with their production system , Volkswagen found it difficult to replicate such optimisation due to union pressure rife in Germany (De Moraes, 2016: 465). Furthermore, to defend their title, Toyota adopted strategies of lean manufacturing, strict supplier control and highly efficient distribution (Schonberger, 1994). Psychoneuroimmunology looks at the relationship between psychosocial influences, mind, behaviour, immune system and patient s health (Webber, 2010). An underlying model of research is that when an individual is faced with a stressful event, their immune system worsens which leads to a decline in their health. There are two ways in which stress affects an individual s health; directly and indirectly. Direct stresses are those where physiological changes are a result of stress related arousal such as damage to blood vessels. An example of this is the patient scratching the affected area when a flare up occurs. This leads to stress in the bodily system causing the severity to exacerbate. On the other hand, indirect stress is stressors that are related to a change in behaviour or thinking in the individual which then leads to illness. An example would be a decline in quality of life as a result of eczema flare up, leading to teasing from peers and a change in their thinking. As a result, their self esteem decreases leading to an increase in eczema severity. There have been studies conducted to indicate that eczema flare ups are a result of everyday psychosocial stress such as death of a loved one or even school or work related stress. • 16. The Difference Between Service Learning, Volunteerism And... Many people get the terms service learning, volunteerism and community service mixed together. All three were made to make a difference somewhere or in someone s life. The main difference between these services are the primary intentions of the programs. Service learning primary purpose is to learn from the experience and to improve their skills. By doing so, they are helping those in need. Volunteering and community service have the most in common, except the fact that community service can be done without a voluntary basis. Those services are done without the purpose of learning something from it, even though they can have a learning experience. Even though most are volunteers doing the job, many can be paid to volunteer, mainly by their job that persuades their employees to do so. Houston Food Bank is a private non profit organization. They were established in 1982 and are a certified member of Feeding America. Their focus is to help end hunger by distributing the most meals possible to those in need. They can provide 83,000,000 meals a year, which they are trying to improve in. Most of the meals they pack up are sent to pantries and other organizations that need food for individuals and families. Usually, food banks do not distribute their meals, but Houston Food Bank does. With the help of volunteers, they can sort, pack and distribute food. Most of the food given to them are provided from donors, local companies around the city, and USDA. The food given to them would go to waste without their help and the volunteers who make the meals happen. I attended the Houston Food Bank, and while I was there, I could tell they have strong teamwork within the organization. All the employees knew what to do and how to handle that many volunteers. They all communicated with the volunteers with a professional, friendly way. They could get everyone who came in to sign in and get everything set up to start the day. I was not able to tell one thing that went wrong. It was impressive how neatly and organized they had the building. The atmosphere, at least for me, made me feel involved and wanting to come back. Using words in a fairytale would be more difficult and tedious to explain this part of the story. Films do provide a visual stimulation for audiences, and this Cinderella live action movie provides an interesting depiction of the fairytale. Charles Perrault s The Little Glass Slipper provides a readable version of the Cinderella fairytale. This well known version of Cinderella was not his first take of this tale, which may be how it became so famous: he managed all the kinks out of the tale for it to be child and adult friendly. This written tale gives you more context to the tale by the language used. The wording in the story provide deeper meaning by the connotation of the words. Such language includes odious, wretched, wench, magnificent, charming, and treasure. These words have ideas around them that associate feelings and previous experiences. These feelings allow the audience to use their own imagination and experiences to illustrate the fairytale. The Importance Of Favorites In The Family Favorites in the Family: How Birth Order affects parental favoritism in the role of the family and what it means for the rest of the children When children ask their parents which sibling they like the most, the majority of parents will answer something to the extent of, I love all of my children equally, or I don t have a favorite. Although it would be nice if these statements were true, most parents have a favorite in one way or another. Parents and socially acceptable parenting styles have evolved over time, but parental favoritism for children has not. Each child in a family, favorite child or not, has their own personality. Although these traits are sometimes heightened when they are the favorite child, these personalities hold true for youngest, middle, and oldest children. The first born children tend to be the strong leaders that strive for achievement in order to impress their parents. If the oldest is not perceived as the favorite, it may cause them to try even harder to impress their parents and prove to them why they should be the favorite. The youngest children tend to be the most rebellious, but also the ones who grow up to be the best with people. Youngest children also aim to have the most attention from parents growing up. The Sixth District Court of Appeals has never before heard a case on fraudulent inducement and therefore this memorandum has used both binding as well as persuasive court decisions to come to a cohesive prediction of the Noll s situation. According to the state of Florida, fraudulent inducement has four elements: (1) a false statement of material fact; (2) the maker of the statement knew or should have known of the falsity of the statement; (3) the maker intended that the false statement induce another s reliance; and (4) the other party justifiably relied on the false statement to its detriment. Dale Campbell Prof Cummins/Phi 358 THE RIGHT AND THE GOOD IN HOBBES S THEORY ON MORAL PHILOSOPHY Mr. Hobbes s Leviathan is one of the many outstanding philosophers that wrote books on moral philosophy and their meaning. Hobbes explains in a clear and engaging manner that makes his Statement thesis clear from the start: Man can be a self interested animal, and that this self interest is enough to create a justified and obligatory ways of justice, citizenship, and morality. He mentions in his thesis right from the beginning and is the basis for his theory that all things dealing with ethical thinking one general thought generate the answer; that is the reason for accepting self interest of all mankind. Even though his theory sounds like the perfect society in which a person is looking out for everyone, I believe that this theory attempts to define and in turn reduce our general concept of morality into the simplest form of self interest. No matter how this argument is formed, there is a group of ethical actions in which the morality is true, but the consequences are false. In most cases where the self interest of a person in the society is in contradiction. In this paper I will explain a class of people that I will refer to as Jamaican freeloaders. Jamaican Freeloaders are the populace in Jamaican culture who use other people also who try to get something for nothing. They get it by any means possible and freely. I will show that Hobbes s ... Social Roles for Men and Women in India through Traditional Hindu Texts Throughout this essay, I will discuss the social roles of men and women in the home, within rituals and within creation. I will look at the roles of a husband and wife, as well as Goddesses and Kings. The main traditional texts that support these roles are the Rg Veda, the Kalpa Sutras, the epics (the Ramayana and Mahabharata), Tryambaka, and Manu Smrti. They are believed to lay the foundations for order in society, as well as giving people the knowledge of their duty. These people deal with things that are seen as polluted, e.g. bodily fluid and certain animals. All these different classes determine a person s duty in society. A person s duty in known as their `Dharma . This is dependant on their caste, as well as their age and Gender. For example a woman s duty in the Brahmanical caste would be different from a mans. This is mainly because a woman is prohibited from reading the Veda. It is believed that this is one of the six things that cause a woman to fall. This was written in the Stridharmapaddhati of Tryambakayajvan, (guide to the religious status and duties of women). A person s age also comes into account. The main sources of Dharma are believed to be in the Veda, the Kalpa Sutras, as well as the epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Horse Behavior Analysis Deemed the most dangerous animal veterinary students must work with, horse behavior is often misunderstood among even the most well versed horsemen (Gronqvist, Rogers, Gee, Martinez, Bolwell, 2017). Equines have a complex range of emotions which are expressed through specific body language well known to owners. Sometimes these aggressive and/or anxious actions can show up suddenly which leaves caretakers confused and looking for a solution. The behaviors specifically include standoffish movements, biting, kicking, pinning ears back, and other similar actions. The dependent variable is the observed demeanor which is ranked on the behavior scale that ranges from one (complacent), to seven (vicious). This scale system is formulated based off of groupings of body language and how dangerous they are to potential handlers. Data on temperament is recorded daily with a point value from the scale awarded to each horse at the end of each encounter. When averaged, a decreasing weekly score suggests that the animal s behavior is less aggressive over time. Therefore, the demeanor of the animal is judged to be improving. Any aggression seen in the pasture is not be taken in to account since this is deemed naturalistic within a herd. During this study, I am assuming that the horses are receiving similar amounts of attention. Also, I will assume that the animals are not acting out in response to another issue, such as a hormonal imbalance or mating. In this way, results will suggest that the behavior is not psychological (in other words, related to emotion), but instead physiological (medical). I expect internal validity since these animals are not giving any specific treatment currently. Any specific change in behavior indicates a causal relationship among the variables. One consideration is that my sample size is small, but this is not uncommon when dealing with studies in the equine field. Another is that some animals may have past psychological damage since many are rescues. It is possible that aggression is in response to unknown problems (masked medical issues) that have no relation to behavior. This would mean that attention would not provoke a change. As a final consideration, the study would take place during mating season which could cause some natural aggression. A Kennesaw Mountain High School IRB ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A big problem is that not only does adult crime dramas include violence, but so do cartoons and slapstick comedies. Scheibe explains some other effects of violence on television are that children may become less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others in reality and television. She also states that children may behave in aggressive and harmful ways to others. Scheibe says the reason for this is, The impact of TV violence on aggression seems to be partly due to imitation of the aggressive actions that children see (particularly if they are done by the good guys ) and partly due to the message that aggression works to get what you want and it s okay to use aggression it you are justified in doing so. (Scheibe p1) Agreeing with Scheibe, Talia Trigilio also says violence in television makes kids more aggressive. Cartoons carry a lot of violent content, 46% of violence is found in cartoons. Trigilio said, I was shocked to stumble across the statistic that there were more violent acts in an hour of Saturday morning television than during prime time. • 47. Definition Of Administrative Access Controls Essay 1. Administrative access controls define the human factors of security (Red Hat, n.d.). An example would be having mandatory training before getting access to a certain room. If you do not complete the training, then you will not have access. Other examples of administrative access controls include personnel registration, recovery plans, and disaster preparedness. Physical access controls are the implementation of security measures in a defined structure used to deter or prevent unauthorized access to sensitive material and include restricted access rooms that require a badge, password, or some other special permission to enter (Red Hat, n.d.). An example of this would be not related to computers is a barhop standing at the door making sure only 21+ adults enter. In a computer or business example, this could be only letting the IT guy have access to the data center. He would have either a special card to let him in or he would have to make a phone call and use a special passphrase to be granted access into the otherwise locked room. Technical access controls use technology as a basis for controlling the access and usage of sensitive data throughout a physical structure and over a network (Red Hat, n.d.). They include tools used for identification, authentication, authorization, and accountability. They are software components that enforce access control measures for systems, programs, process, and information (Harris, 2012). Technical access controls are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our batters our having no luck against the darts that their pitcher is throwing. As we have not received a hit in the first five innings. The game was still tied 0 0, as I once again headed back out to the mound at the bottom of the fifth inning to take on the heart of the lineup. The previous four innings went smoothly with the opponent only getting four hits. My confidence level was high, three more innings and we will be walking out of here with a win. But, going through the four, five, six batters will be a major obstacle. As the game proceeds, I am getting more and more nervous every pitch. As I released my go to pitch, I thought it would blow right by the hitter. But I thought wrong. The 6 3, 200 pounder cranked the ball down the right field line for a stand up triple. My hope in the matter of a split second went down the drain. With my confidence level at its all time low, all I wanted to do was take a seat. I knew that was not an option. But the road is not getting easier, as the 6 3, 200 pounders brother approached the plate. I knew I had to strike him out in order to have any chance at winning this game. My second pitch of the inning, gone, out of the park. I just ruined an amazing performance by our entire team in the matter of 2 pitches. I felt as if my team lost all hope. From that point on, the game was over. On the bus ride home, everyone was acting like their normal selves. Like we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
