Gun Control Vs. Gun Rights
Karley Campbell Intro to Criminal Justice Reflection Paper One: Gun Control Vs. Gun Rights
Whether you gather your information from the newspaper, radio, or a website, you have certainly
been exposed to one of the most controversial, current debates. It seems that the media refuses to
stop talking about this topic. In fact, as soon as the press over one event disappears another event
seems to revive the debate. Some citizens say that we need more restrictive gun laws. Meanwhile,
other Americans say that more guns are what is necessary. It s impossible to know what the right
answer is. However, we can investigate surrounding factors of the matter in order to gain a clearer
understanding of the controversy. That being said, I will explain... Show more content on

A common phrase from this stance is the belief that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is
a good guy with a gun. That being said, it is justifiable to say that those who are against more
gun laws feel safer and are content with concealed carry, even on college campuses. Now that
the views of each side have been examined, it is important to analyze how crime models play a
role in the gun debate. First, the consensus model is based off the assumption that a majority of
citizens in a society share the same beliefs of right and wrong (Gaines and Miller, 2015). Second,
the conflict model says that those with economic, political and social power determine the laws
(Gaines and Miller, 2015). The textbook explains how, historically speaking, the consensus model
has criminalized and decriminalized acts on account of social norms, such as adultery. Yet, others
acknowledge that social attitudes are forever changing and that the power to change laws lies not
within a community s stance, but in the interests of powerful lawmakers. After gun massacres, the
media often demonstrates a consensus model of a push for some additional regulation. On the other
hand, the conflict model is demonstrated when a widely known organization called the National
Rifle Association reaffirms their case against more restrictive gun laws. These two models matter
because they are how society determines laws such as concealed carry and will facilitate the next
decision.

Caution This Is War Propaganda Analysis
I didn t even see bicycles or rickshaws. I was surprised to find Nirmay still here. Maybe he
simply couldn t get out. I m sure if they did conscript him, he burnt the notice and convinced the
authorities he served or that he simply died. He told me they used bamboo bicycles for a while,
with wheels made from sliced tree trunks. He was playing a set at Neutrino, in the Avantil
district, where they still appreciate his music. Our way of life is under attack. A dark cloud is
descending on Shurasena. And that dark cloud is Avanti and Carmania. Fuck, way to state the
bleeding obvious. I pulled out a marker and wrote Caution: This Is War Propaganda. on it. I
probably didn t need to warn her. It wasn t aimed at us teenagers, after all. We re going to fall in
love and fuck under streams of strangely colored moonlight, and all those other things young
lovers do, and when they join the PLA, it s because the PLA promises equality and acceptance and
an end to the ghettoization of Avantils and if society must be torn down completely to achieve our
goals, then by the gods, so be it. Shurasena s so oversaturated with propaganda that the kids just
tune it out. Nay, these posters are aimed at people who think things are just fine the way they are.

anarchy.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The SSSP made the whole thing up to keep the Sikhs loyal citizens. It makes explaining the

Comparison Of Comic Books And World War II
Comic Books and World War II During World War II, every major country participated, typically
by supplying troops, supplies, and weaponry to one side. However, throughout the duration of
the conflict, one country in particular fought against their foes with a different weapon. The
country was the United States of America. The weapon: comic books, yes, comic books. Now
popular for their big screen adaptations, comic books have been circulated since the Great
Depression and they played an influential role in World War II. Through the course of the war,
comics were used as propaganda, both to slander the enemy and bolster morale back home. In
those days, comics had been in existence for less than a decade and the war was what catapulted
them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They provided an escape from the fear included among the other emotions which often occurred
during the war. Their effect was so great that Hitler went so far as to ban comic books from being
circulated in Germany, except for his personal favorite, Mickey Mouse. From this short period in
history spawned several characters that have endured long enough to see, in some cases multiple,
cinematic interpretations alongside small screen adaptations. Undoubtedly, the effect that comic
books had on the American psyche will never quite be

Numbinbah Valley Analysis
Numbinbah Valley is a valley and suburb located in the Gold Coast Hinterland in South East
Queensland, Australia (City of Gold Coast, 2015) (see appendix 1 ). The Scenic Rim, which is a
group of forested mountain ranges, covers 116 km of valley. Compared to other areas of the
Gold Coast the Numbinbah Valley has remained largely undeveloped in recent decades
containing a wide variety of freshwater organisms. The Valley is part of the upper catchment area
of Nerang River, which flows into the Hinze Dam in the lowest elevated part of the Valley.

The food web of Numbinbah Valley ( see appendix 5) and Hastings Point ( see appendix 6) shows
that the relationship between phytoplankton and detritus, microorganisms and other decaying
matter (producers) have a mutualistic relationship, which is a symbiotic relationship in which both
individuals benefit from the association. The food webs of Numbinbah and Hastings Point
visualized a common mutualistic relationship that detritus and microorganisms are eaten mainly
from primary consumers such as mollusucs (The primary consumers pink barnacle, common
limpet, sea stars, chiton and blue periwinkle) and insects (flies, moths and ants). The connection
between the mosquito and the detritus in the Numbinbah Food Web, can be also classified as
parasitism which is where one organism benefits at the expense of another organism. Mosquitos
feed on the blood of the organism and may cause diseases such as malaria towards the host. Another
connection between the two webs is birds are the tertiary consumer in both environments where the
tertiary consumers feed on the secondary consumer. The webs of Hastings Point and Numbinbah

The Four Gospels Research Paper
The Four Gospels Reflection Paper I believe it was important to have the word from the four
Gospels. Each Gospel highlighted different events of Jesus life. Matthew portrays Jesus as the son
of David and is mostly speaking to the Jews. Mark shows Jesus as the son of Man and starts with
the beginning of His ministry. Luke tells about Jesuslife from birth all the way to His death and
ascension. Finally, John writes as an eyewitness of Jesus life and shows Him as the Son of God.
Without having the four Gospels, we wouldn t have a true picture of Jesus life. The Gospelof
Matthew starts from the beginning of Jesus s life. Gundry (2012) states, The Gospel starts with
the nativity of Jesus (chapters 1 2). The rest of the Gospel takes up primarily Marcan narrative
(usually condensed) and inserts five discourses of Jesus... (p. 188). The book was written to show
Jesus teaching, however, Gundry (2012) suggests a stronger reason. ...the Gospel gives a much
stronger impression of having been written to strengthen the Jewish Christians in their suffering of
persecution, to warn them against laxity and apostasy, and to urge them to use their persecution as
an opportunity for the evangelism of all nations (p. 189). The Gospel of Matthewalso traces Jesus

one of them. Your class strategies must improve as will your study habits and reading habits to

Comparing Dante s Inferno And The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
Both Dante Alighieri s Inferno and Haruki Murakami s The Wind up Bird Chronicle are able to
reveal aspects of human nature through physical and psychological journeys that the main
character faces. In the Inferno, Dante faces a new psychological journey in each circle of hell. In
The Wind up Bird Chronicle, Okada goes through multiple physical journeys which are all related
to one of Mr. Honda s readings. Limbo, the first circle of hell, is where Dante begins his first
journey to reaching Paradise. Midway in our life s journey, I went astray from the straight road

2000 Us Presidential Election Essay
Introduction
The US Presidential Election of 2000 featured George W. Bush and Al Gore. It will go down in
history as one of the most closest electionsВЎВ¦ in US history. It also goes down as one of the most
controversial. The final decision was based on just a few hundred votes in Florida. The controversy
began when the media prematurely declared the winner twice based solely on exit polls. They
finally conceded that the Florida count was just too close to predict. It would take a month before
the election was ultimately certified after numerous court challenges and vote recounts. Republican
candidate George W. Bushwas declared the winner of the FloridaВЎВ¦s 25 electoral votes. This
was a victory by a razor thin margin of popular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As in the past, the media was covering the all important election. They had always relied on exit
polls as the polls closed across the nation. In reality, the Florida results were just too close to call.
Nevertheless, that did not stop the media from doing so. Not once, but twice, major news media
outlets were erroneous in their report. Around 8pm, it was declared that Al Gore was the
projected winner of the electoral votes in the state of Florida. However, a couple of hours later,
the projection was retracted and restated as Florida as being too close to call. Then, just after
2am on November 8, the mistake was made for a second time. The major networks declared
George W. as the winner. This even led to Al Gore calling the Governor to concede. However, as
Gore prepared to address his supporters in Nashville, Tennessee, he was alert to the shrinking
numbers in BushВЎВ¦s lead. The final total was now less than one half of a percent lead in favor
of Bush. That immediately calls for a recount of votes under state law. Subsequently, Gore called
Bush and retracted his concession. It wasnВЎВ¦t over yet! One thing was, Al Gore had prevailed in
the popular vote but without FloridaВЎВ¦s tally, the electoral vote was up in the air. The election
wasnВЎВ¦t over and the recounts began.

Ambiguity In The Theory Of The Description Theory
In this essay I argue that the understanding of proper names seems to go beyond definite
descriptions. Therefore the Description Theory is not an adequate theory of proper name. I first
provide a brief explanation of the Description Theory, and its sub theory, the Name Claim,
followed by a brief overview of the main arguments for the Description Theory. I then provide a
more detailed explanation of one direct argument: That it captures the intuitive logic of claims
involving proper names. I then explain the problem of Which description? , that there is no single
determinate description (Lycan, 2000: 41) of a proper name. Finally I provide my own critique,
showing why I believe that the Description Theory leaves us with ambiguity in the description...

They are equivalent to definite descriptions and therefore must be treated as definite descriptions
are. The Description Theory goes further saying that descriptivism about definite descriptions
asserts the existence and the uniqueness of the subject and ascribes a predicate to the subject. The
Description Theory captures the intuitive logic of claims involving proper names (Lycan, 2000:
39) However, the Description Theory leaves us with ambiguity in the description of a proper
name because more than one description can be applied to one name and it does not enable us to
know which description is relevant. Therefore, there is a need to define what a relevant description
of a proper name is. This makes the Description Theory an inadequate theory of proper

James Barrie s Story Of Peter Pan
Since the manifestation of James Barrie s story of Peter Pan over one hundred years ago, there
have been numerous adaptations. The author Barrie also adapted his story as well on a few
occasions in many ways. In fact, Barrie was the first to plan a film scenario, however, his plan
failed to be used for the first film adaptation of Peter Pan in 1924 (Barrie, 2011). In this analysis,
the criticism of Peter Pan s movies will be separated in two ways, first, from the point of view
that the film is an exact replica of the novel and the other point of view is that the viewer considers
the film as an autonomous piece with different interpretations. I will first argue that Barrie s
original text adapted by Walt Disney s version is not in keeping with the darker, intricate original
story however, the film is an autonomous piece of art that successfully opens viewers to their
personal interpretations.
I will then consider extra cinematic codes of the interpretations for James Barrie s story of Peter
Pan through the adaptation of the film, Finding Neverland, with focus on: language codes, visual
codes, non linguistic sound codes and cultural codes (McFarlane, 1996).
To further the analysis a comparison from the original historical text of, J.M Barrie s Peter Pan
and Lewis Carroll s Alice s Adventure in Wonderland that have been adapted to film I will outline
the similarities as well as the differences. Barrie s Peter Pan and Carroll s Alice s are both
characters that connect with

The Environmental Movement Of North Dakota
In the spring of 2016, an environmental movement began in North Dakota that today, is making
history. In Cannonball, North Dakota, Native Americans have gathered to protest the Dakota
Access Pipeline; resulting in one the largest gatherings of Native Americans from multiple tribes
the United States has witnessed in over a century (Northcott, 2016). One tribe in particular, the
North DakotaStanding Rock SiouxTribe, have been leading and organizing the protest against the
construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The Standing Rock reservation is located in the Sioux
and Ziebach counties within the North Dakota and South Dakotaborder; the Sioux people are the
primary tribe of the area. According to Trymaine Lee of MSNBC, the counties are a part of the
top 10 poorest counties in the country, and that it has a history with water distresses. In the early
1960s, five dams located at Lake Oahe in Standing Rock gave way and flooded 200,000+ acres,
destroying nearly all natural resources and wildlife at the river bottom, as well as destroying towns
within the reservation and sacred ancestral lands and sites. This was a devastating tragedy for the
people of Standing Rock, and it seems that history is repeating itself with the proposed construction
of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline poses many hazardous threats, and these threats
outweigh any economic benefit the proponents may promise. It threatens the environment, water
supplies, historical land, and only adds to the

Honey Bee Virulence Report
Discussion With this information, it can help build the foundations needed to find anti virulence
factors against P. larvae to reduce the need for antibiotics. The current treatments options available
for AFB are becoming progressively obsolete due to antibiotic resistance. Honey bee colonies are
constantly exposed to these antibiotics until approximately two weeks before the honey is collected
(Caron and Connor, 2013). As mentioned previously, this is the only effective way of killing the
vegetative cells, but not the spores. The spores still persist within the colony and once the
bacterium becomes resistant to treatment, it results in disastrous outcomes (Caron and Connor,
2013). Therefore, treatments that could neutralize these virulence factors should be sought after.
Also, with the use of antibiotics, there are possibilities of toxic residues being found in the honey.
This could take a devastating toll on the individuals who consume this hive product. Therefore, the
need for natural treatments are becoming popular because of regulations related... Show more

It provides the necessary knowledge of whether or not honey bee larvae can survive and develop in
a laboratory setting. Once possible treatment options begin to emerge, the uninfected larvae could
be exposed to these alternatives. These larvae can be observed for any anomalies throughout the
developmental period to determine the effects of these potential treatments. Unfortunately, during
the experimental process none of the larvae made it to the adult stage in the control plate. This was
partly due to the development of mold during the larval stage. With the elevated humidity levels

Siddhartha s Journey To Enlightenment
Enlightenment is a word to loop in the ideas of gaining insight into the mind and achieving peace
with in ourselves, with releasing ourselves from the harshness of life (Wikipedia). In our current
time, many people now are still trying to reach enlightenment as many religions that bring up the
idea of becoming at peace with ourselves spreads to new people. In the novel Siddhartha by
Hermann Hesse, we experience the journey of a man who strives to reach enlightenment. He comes
across many different characters, but here, we focus on four people, including Siddhartha, himself.

His Self had crawled into this priesthood, into this arrogance, into this intellectuality. It sat there
tightly and grew, while he thought he was destroying it by fasting and penitence. Now he
understood it and realized that the inward voice had been right, that no teacher could be bought

reach what he needed to achieve he needed to get rid of his thirst for knowledge. His perspective
on how to reach peace changed from how he saw it from the beginning; he believed that
salvation was achieved from knowledge and being satisfied of what he had learned. Now, he
sees that he was unhappy because he craved more and that took over his other senses. When
someone is seeking, said Siddhartha, it happens quite easily that he only sees the thing that he is

Seeking means: to have a goal; but finding means: to be free, to be receptive, to have no goal. You,

Cure of the Streets
The poet Rainer Maria Rilke says that a work of art is good if it has sprung from necessity
(Farley). Hip Hop was born on the poor and dangerous streets of the USA. Minorities such as
African Americans and Hispanics dominated these streets, and they felt the need to address their
long standing common issues. Therefore, a new form of art, hip hop was born, and became the
method of self expression for these minorities. Lyrics have presented what they have been
through. While rap has turned from a tool of self expression to a multi billion dollar industry, it
has continued to constructively affect the social and economic structure of the society. While
serving as a good alternative to the streets, hip hop positively uplifts the cultural barriers within
the society and educates the youth. In order to better understand the necessity and the influence
of hip hop, the history of how and where this music emerged is highly important. In the 1970s,
Hip hop was born in the immensely impoverished, crime ridden, drug infested streets of the
Bronx , which were often called America s worst slum or the epitome of urban failure (Price 4).
Emmett Price III, the writer of Hip Hop Culture, says that the ostracized, marginalized, and
oppressed youth started hip hop as a liberation movement , and they aimed to combat against
issues of racial prejudice, cultural persecution, and social, economic, and political disparities (Price
1). From the 1970s to the 1990s, hip hop had increased

What Is Dyslexia and What Can You Do If You Have It
Dyslexia is a congenital disorder characterized by unexpected difficulty learning to decode and
spell words in relation to one s verbal intelligence, motivation, and educational opportunities (Gray
E. S, 2008). People have many misconceptions regarding dyslexia which includes visual
impairment, low IQ, dyslexiais curable, and this learning disabilityaffects males more often than
females. Indicators of dyslexia change over time since it is a process of developmental. It is
difficult to identify children with dyslexia; however it becomes more prominent as they progress in
school. Experts agree that dyslexia is a learning disability that affects language processing and that
it does not occur because of low intelligence, lack of motivation,... Show more content on

Providing students with intensive phonological interventions during the early stages of learning
development can help students improve in reading, writing, and spelling.Teachers may use various
methods to instruct students during the interventions. Approaches such as structured system and
multisensory are recommended based on the researchers in the field of dyslexia. Structured system
involves taking steps such as alphabetic principles, reading, spelling, and writing. First, student will
learn the phonemes, the vowels, and the syllables. Students need to learn the relationship between
letters, sounds and words. Students will work on rhythm and rhymes such as alliteration to help
them develop letter sound recognition. Then students will progress onto reading words when they
are able to successfully match the phonemes to the letters. Multisensory involves using fingers,
letter tiles to manipulate the letters and spell words. Using a combination of visualization and
kinesthetic to help them memorize new vocabularies, which is similar to a Montessori setting.
Montessori believed the ideal curriculum for children with dyslexia is multisensory, structured,
cumulative, and sequential (Skotheim M.K, 2008). Children are able to experience language by
spending time through tactile learning of tracing sounds to alphabet learning phonemes. They also
concentrate on listening skills, and development of communication skills through

How Motivation and Leadership Theories Can Be Applied.
MOTIVATION THEORIES: Goal Setting Theory: In the late 1960s, Edwin Locke proposed that
intentions to work toward a goad are a major source of work motivation. That is, goals tel an
employee what needs to be done and how much effort will need to be made. Specific hard goals
produce a higher level of output than does the generalized goal of do your best . Why? The
specificity of the goal itself seems to act as an internal stimulus. For instance, when a trucker
commits to making 12 round trips between Toronto and Buffalo, New York, each week, this
intention gives him a specific objective to try to attain. The conclusion is that intentions as
articulated in terms of hard and specific goals are the motivating force. Under... Show more content

Essay On The American Colonies
The American Colonies for the past 20 years have become accustomed to living a thousand miles
from their sovereign, the King of England and Parliament. This separation from monarchial control
and power has created a tough and independent society, which although they believe themselves to
be subjects of the crown, has molded an experience and lifestyle unlike any found within the Crown
s realm. Subsequently, these differences in lifestyles bond both Mother Country and colonyon a path
that veers from the typical empirical rule that has ruled the known world for the last century.
The journal asks what possible reasons Americans could have to begin to quarrel over our identity
with the crown. We are not defiant because we simply have nothing else to do; rather we are defiant
because we have been stepped on countless amounts of times by Parliament (specifically, the House
of Commons) that insist that they are the guardians of British constitutional liberty only because of
their victorious efforts against the tyranny of the Stuart kings of England. Yet, their understanding of
a constitution is so much more different that they continue the same practices of the Stuarts.
Take, for example, the nonsensical use of authority to create laws that exerts extensive pressures
on American families, such as the passing of the General Writs of Assistance Case in 1761. The
writ allows British government officials the general right to search and seize colonist s private
property

Examples Of Silence In Fahrenheit 451
Montag lives in a selfish society where everyone thinks solely about themselves. When Montag
says this is the age of the disposable tissue, he is not really referencing the handkerchief someone
would blow their nose with. He is enlightening the reader on how people in his society only
utilize other people for the goods and services they contribute. Someone in his society would be
friends with another person merely because they could benefit them in some way. An example
from the book that would prove he is correct is when Mildred uses Montag for the money he is
able to provide her with. When he threatens to quit his job, she leaves him and calls the fire
department exposing his secret stash of books. He is implying that this is an unacceptable way of

Being alone in a silent room with only my thoughts makes me feel uncomfortable. My mind has
free roam in silence to go wherever it wants. I never truly have silence because I fill it with other
things. The things vary, from homework to music on my speaker, to Netflix on my TV. It has
become hard for me to complete simple household tasks without some sound to fill my brain. I
have been taught since I was young that silence is bad, it s awkward, it s not desirable. Filling
my time with things to do is a much better use of the limited time I am allowed on this earth. I
think this is because my phone is always there with me, buzzing, ringing, chirping, and pinging.
It doesn t allow silence to creep its way in. It keeps me engaged all the time leaving no time left

Lab Report For The Purpose Of Gram Staining
Gram Staining
Formal Lab Report

Intro Microbiology
Dr. Hendrickson
13 September 2017
Purpose
For the purpose of the gram staining experiment was to learn this specific type of staining
technique, as well as learn how distinguish the differences between Gram positive and Gram
negative stains. This technique uses crystal violet stain, Gram s Iodine, Ethyl Alcohol, and
Safranin. These dyes are used in order to distinguish between the different types of cells. For
example, Gram positive staining will result in a purple color, and Gram negative staining will
result in a red or pinkish color (University of Central Oklahoma department of biology, 2016).
When a bacteria results in a purple stain it is categorized as a gram positive stain because the
alcohol that was used to decolorize the bacteria was not successful. Its cell wall is made with a
thick layer of peptidoglycan and holds the crystal violet color (Case, Funke, Tortora). When a
bacteria results in a red or pinkish color, this means that it loses the crystal violet dye color after
being decolorized and keeps the Safranin dye. It would then become categorized as a gram
negative stain (Case, Funke, Tortora). A gram negative bacteria has a cell wall made of a thin
layer of peptidoglycan and a thick layer of lipopolysaccharides thus holding onto the red dye (Case,
Funke, Tortora). Bacteria have different shapes and these shapes determine what family they belong
in. There are

Disadvantages of Social Media
Although social media has improves our rate of communication it is important to remember that it

The major flaw in the relationship between social media and police agencies it that they have to

The Banning for To Kill a Mockingbird
The book called To Kill a Mockingbird was written by a great author Harper Lee. The book had
won the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. It sold over millions of copies, and was one of the favorite novels
in 1999. The book was known to make a difference in people s lives, but then soon became
known to be banned in many other states. It was also was celebrated for Banned Books Week
because they didn t agree with the decision. There are three most important points of the research
for the banning of to kill a mockingbird. First the reasons why it was banned or challenged. Second,
why this novel shouldn t be banned, and third, the mitigating measures for the book to be available
for students.
The novel was banned in 2011 and 2009 because of the use of profanity, racial slurs, and rape. In
the years of 2002 2012 the novel was challenged in local high schools and middle schools. One

American Football Players Analysis
Starting Safely: Positions in American Football Positions are important in every aspect of life,
from lying in bed to driving a car. Where one being is in relation to another is extremely vital to
the well being and safety of those involved. In What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for
American FootballPlayers?, an expository text about a scientific experiment, authors Bruno
Bonnechere, Benoit Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint claim that they have isolated the
correct position American footballplayers should use when playing. This optimal position is the one
most likely to protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field.
In the beginning of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players
of concussions and long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. Due to these major risks, an
experiment was conducted with both football players and non players to determine the best starting
position to lower the potential damage from collisions. These athletes participated in many study
trials with the different beginning placements of the trunk and head in relation to the ground. They

This position is widely used, regardless of how risky it is for the players involved. However,
there is no perfect solution; there s only a better one. The experiment showed that it is difficult to
determine the optimal position due to the conflict of good performance vs. low chance of harm
(Bonnechere, 2014). The authors chose to propose a balance between two positions that offers a
medium risk, especially if there has been previous trauma experienced by a player. If a football
player has had a concussion before or is at a higher chance of receiving one, the 2 point start is the
safest out of all three positions studied (Bonnechere,

The First Airborne Jamming Test
These developments in radar prompted experiments to find whether or not ITS transmission could
be denied or defeated. The first airborne jamming test took place in London and involved a
continuous wave transmitter. Following this test, anti jamming systems were attached to the
direction finding systems which then evolved into the Chain Home radar system along the eastern
coast of the U.K. These anti jamming systems were the first examples of electronic counter counter
measures which is now a sub category of electronic warfare called electronic protection. (price 9

the United States Navy possessed radar, high frequency direction finding systems and anti jamming

Throughout the year of 1940, the Germans and the British conducted a series of back and forth
electronic attacks and counterattacks AFFECTING the German s ability to bomb Britain during the
night with low visibility. The German s employed various radio technologies to acquire night
bombing capabilities where they could intersect two transmitted radio waves that followed the
correct flight path in order to ensure the German pilots could maintain a continuous course. The
German s even used the British s own Chain Home defense as reference points during this
evolution. The UK would continually modify their systems and employ electronic warfare tactics to

The scandal started on July 8 when Festina s team masseur, Willy Voet crossed the French

the Societe du Tour de France, nobody would have thought that he could be stopped. Voet was

ABSTRACT
Churn Prediction has been major research problem with the growth of market development as
customers asset more valuable persons for growth of company. The occurrence of churn customers
is one of the crucial problems for the growth of a company, as it acquires higher costs. The task of
churn prediction is to identify the customers who are pretending to shift from one company to
another. As in the competitive environment, it becomes necessary to focus on retaining churn
customers as well as attracting new customers. Various algorithms of Data Mining have been used
for making distinguish between customers into loyal and churn, so that appropriate steps can be
taken into consideration in order to retain the churn customers to the company as customers are
more valuable to the survival and development of the company. The proposed Hybrid approach is
an integration of two techniques named J48 and LogitBoost that have feature of PSO (Particle

In CarbonNMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) Spectroscopy the number of unique carbons the

by the Hydrogen NMR. The molecule also had symmetry which was a necessity. Lastly, it has
the correct chemical formula C4H8O. It was known which carbons and hydrogens went where
for a couple of different reasons. First, Carbon 1 was an ether which meant it had to be part of
the ether and adjacent to the oxygen. That left Carbon 2 to take the alkane spot. Hydrogen A was
adjacent to a single bonded oxygen which meant it needed to be with Carbon 1. Again, this left
Hydrogen B to fill the alkyl spot because it was bonded as a CH2. All of this is shown in Figure

because both of the hydrogens were triplets. However, information from the splitting pattern was

Reflection Of A Theoretical Orientation
A theoretical orientation is the model used to describe a client s behavior, tendencies and
personality. Therapists can t approach and find explanations of behavior or personality in the same
manner due to the difference in client issues, diagnoses, and symptoms. Although different in
nature each theoretical orientationconsists of the general themes that can be seen and utilized
universally. As a counselor, it is important to develop and have sense of which theoretical
orientation works best for you and the type of clientele that you will be servicing. While it may be
a challenge to pick one theoretical orientation and stick to it due to the vast variety, it is important
that you incorporate your background, values, religious beliefs, as well as a host of other factors
into your decision to ensure that that orientation can be utilized properly.
So what is theoretical orientation? First and foremost, in my opinion, your TO is one of the most
important decisions you will make as a counselor. TO provides the framework and guiding
principles with regard to how a therapist will organize treatment, and provide the client with the
necessary information to have a positive and successful relationship and outcomes in counseling.
TO assimilates different points of views into a cohesive approach. TO consist of concepts, ideas,

In addition to the Australian drinking culture, at 18 years old you are legally an adult. Thus, society

conscripted, they should have the right to vote and drink as well. (Urban, 2009). Therefore, the law

The Idea Of Wergild In Beowulf
Literature has told many stories, from the dawn of creation to post apocalyptic societies, shaping
the minds and societies of all. Literature also tells the story of what society values and their ideals,
their struggles and triumphs. Old English literature is no exception. Another way in which all
stories, share something in common is the idea of a hero and his deeds. An example of this idea of
the hero is demonstrated particularly in the story of Beowulf. Beowulf exemplifies the ideas of an
Anglo Saxon society in the idea of paying a wergild, the value placed on a person s life. In
addition to wergild there is also defending one s people against their enemy, in this story, Grendel.
The final way in which Beowulf exemplifies a hero is through... Show more content on

While Anglo Saxons view fighting in war and defeating one s enemy as a great act, the greatest
act for them was being remembered for their deeds, particularly of successes in battle. Not
wanting to be forgotten when they passed from this world, was one of the Anglo Saxons
greatest fears, but Beowulf accomplished being remembered. Already well known for his
strength before he defeated Grendel, it is said, Beowulf s doings were praised over and over
again. Nowhere, they said, north or south between the two seas or under the tall sky on the
broad earth was there anyone better to raise a shield or rule a kingdom (Heaney 57). Beowulf
was already well known for his deeds throughout the land, not just in battle, but in ruling a
kingdom. While in addition to his great deeds being remembered, when he dies, his people
began to construct a mound on a headland, high and imposing, a marker that sailors could see
from far away (Heaney 213). This would be another symbol of immortality as the memorial
would lead sailors to the land of the Geats and would see his memorial, reminding people of who
he was and what he had done. Being remembered was something that was important to the Anglo
Saxons, especially the wealthy as they could pay poets to write ballads and poems about them. This
unfortunately was not the case for the spoor farmers, known as churls, of the Anglo Saxons who

The first two parts of this series on Managing Creativity in Business examined Corporate Killers of
Creativity and Key Attributes of The Creative Personality.
Now, we look at the methods that managers can employ to manage creative teams.
To harness creative attributes and obtain superior work from employees and vendors of creative
services, bosses and clients must understand their crucial role in the creative process.
The boss or client in fact must not simply manage the process, but instead must lead the creative
team. Leadership differs significantly from management. Managers plan, organize, direct,
coordinate and control. Leaders inspire. Leaders catalyze. Leaders stretch. Leaders project a vision.
The leader s job is to create an environment in which creativity can thrive. Managers who lead
instead of managing are more likely to obtain superior creative work. In addition, client as leader
has the responsibility to identify the problem not the solution. The most successful leaders delegate
the search for solutions to the creative team.

Five Major Components Of The National Incident Management...
In American society, there are numerous of organizations, agencies, corporations, and distributions
that each have certain systems that are required for them to be successful. When it comes to
homeland security and the management of different disasters or incidents, there definitely needs to
be a protocol or plan in place to be able to manage detrimental events. The Incident Management
System and the Incident Command System are two very significant systems, that go hand in hand
with each other, therefore are presented within the same type of logic model known as the NIMS
Command Chart. Knowing the fundamental components of each and key points, discussing how
these programs operate in practice, and understanding their elements, strengths, and weaknesses are
all worthy of attention when dealing with serious disasters.
At first, knowing what the Incident Management System describes and what the major components
are is a start. The National Incident Management System is a ... Show more content on

This means that this system can be used for a variety of incidents, hazards, and impacts, despite its
size or location. There are five major components that need to be understood about this system:
Command and Management, Preparedness, Resource Management, Communications and
Information Management, and Ongoing Management and Maintenance (FEMA, 2017). Each of
these components apply very well to the management of a serious disaster that Homeland Security
and public agencies may have to deal with. By using this policy program, it organizes key
information and distributes important duties and gives direction in order to lessen the chaos that
can transpire during a disaster event. Following, the Incident Command System is a very
convenient tool when managing a serious disaster. One point that the Emergency Management

The Green Bird, By Carlo Gozzi
The eighteenth century marked a period of renewal within Italy. This transition saw the acceptance
of new philosophies that were rampant throughout most of Europe (Yawney 2). The Age of
Enlightenment, as it has come to be known, brought upon changes within the realms of economic,
social, and religious affairs. However, amidst any form of radical change come those who do not
attest to it. In his fable, The Green Bird, Venetian dramatist Carlo Gozziincorporates subject matter
that attacks not only the realism seen in Carlo Goldonis theatre but also the thought of modern
Enlightenment ideology.
The first half of the Age of Enlightenment saw Italy more as a spectator as opposed to an active
participant within the ever changing affairs of Europe. Italy could not yet incorporate the growing
ideology of the Enlightenment due to the Roman Catholic Church that governed the land. However,
with the decline of that absolute ecclesiastical authority near the latter half of the eighteenth
century, Italy gradually delved into enlightenment thought, and slowly became part of the
movement that was dominating Europe. The continuance of scientific research ensued, which led
to studies in history and archaeological science. Recognition of social conditions throughout Italy
influenced the study of economics and socio political issues. These new philosophies proved to be
the main concerns within the intellectual community as the eighteenth century progressed. (Yawney

What A Truly Good Person Muhammad
after birth leaving Khadija and Muhammad with four daughters (Stewart, 36). Muhammad and
Khadija took in Jafar and Ali sons of Abu Talib (Stewart, 36). In order to understand what a truly
good person Muhammad was the reader must know the true depth of his humanity and
benevolence as evidenced by the following text. Zayd Ibn was a slave who was given as a gift to
Muhammad(Stewart, 37). After Zayd Ibn came to Muhammad s home the boy s biological father
located him and asked Muhammad to let the boy return to his home (Stewart, 37). Zayd Ibn
rejected his father s wish and asked to stay with Muhammad s family because he loved it there
(Stewart, 37). Muhammad was so pleased by Zayd Ibn s admiration for his family that he freed
the boy from slavery and formally adopted him (Stewart, 37). Muhammad had also freed his slave
Baraka and even arranged a marriage for her (Stewart, 37). After the death of Baraka s husband she
returned to Muhammad (Stewart, 37). Muhammad and his large family welcomed Baraka into their
family (Stewart, 37). Earlier the preceding text discussed the mistreatment of slaves by the rich in
Mecca. Muhammad s kindness is evident in the fact that his freed slaves wanted to remain in his
household.
Muhammad often sought out solitude in the hills of Mecca. During the month of Ramadan
Muhammad would sometimes spend all of the days and nights in the peaceful solitude of the hills
(Stewart, 39). It was on Mount Hira in Mecca that Muhammad experienced a

The Consumption Of Dairy Products From My Diet Essay
Eliminating Dairy People often times attempt to practice healthy behaviors, but usually, it s
difficult to sustain these goals. Some may pursue a healthy lifestyle, by either incorporating
healthy habits or eliminating unhealthy behaviors. Given my case, I intend to eliminate the
consumption of dairy products from my diet. Some may wonder what exactly is unhealthy
about dairy products, others might be informed about the high amounts of fat within dairy
products, and a few might be aware of the long list of side effects from the consumption of dairy.
Oftentimes, people need to be informed on how their habits have an effect in order to make a
few changes in their lifestyle. Initially, I became aware of the dairy industry from documentaries,
but through time I learned more significant and shocking facts. For this experience, I began to
eliminate dairy from my diet since September and continue this processed until present day.
Throughout this process I came across a lot of surprises, obstacles, and achievements. In class, we
were told change or eliminate a health behavior to improve our overall lifestyle. Most students
shared their interest in being more active, quit smoking, or eating more healthy foods. Personally,
I wanted to focus on something that not only affected me but also others. Therefore, I decided to
eliminate dairy products from my diet. At first, I felt like it made no sense to others, but I
remained confident in my decision. Besides, I felt like this was an

  • 2. Gun Control Vs. Gun Rights Karley Campbell Intro to Criminal Justice Reflection Paper One: Gun Control Vs. Gun Rights Whether you gather your information from the newspaper, radio, or a website, you have certainly been exposed to one of the most controversial, current debates. It seems that the media refuses to stop talking about this topic. In fact, as soon as the press over one event disappears another event seems to revive the debate. Some citizens say that we need more restrictive gun laws. Meanwhile, other Americans say that more guns are what is necessary. It s impossible to know what the right answer is. However, we can investigate surrounding factors of the matter in order to gain a clearer understanding of the controversy. That being said, I will explain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A common phrase from this stance is the belief that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. That being said, it is justifiable to say that those who are against more gun laws feel safer and are content with concealed carry, even on college campuses. Now that the views of each side have been examined, it is important to analyze how crime models play a role in the gun debate. First, the consensus model is based off the assumption that a majority of citizens in a society share the same beliefs of right and wrong (Gaines and Miller, 2015). Second, the conflict model says that those with economic, political and social power determine the laws (Gaines and Miller, 2015). The textbook explains how, historically speaking, the consensus model has criminalized and decriminalized acts on account of social norms, such as adultery. Yet, others acknowledge that social attitudes are forever changing and that the power to change laws lies not within a community s stance, but in the interests of powerful lawmakers. After gun massacres, the media often demonstrates a consensus model of a push for some additional regulation. On the other hand, the conflict model is demonstrated when a widely known organization called the National Rifle Association reaffirms their case against more restrictive gun laws. These two models matter because they are how society determines laws such as concealed carry and will facilitate the next decision. ... Comparison Of Comic Books And World War II Comic Books and World War II During World War II, every major country participated, typically by supplying troops, supplies, and weaponry to one side. However, throughout the duration of the conflict, one country in particular fought against their foes with a different weapon. The country was the United States of America. The weapon: comic books, yes, comic books. Now popular for their big screen adaptations, comic books have been circulated since the Great Depression and they played an influential role in World War II. Matthew portrays Jesus as the son of David and is mostly speaking to the Jews. Mark shows Jesus as the son of Man and starts with the beginning of His ministry. Around 8pm, it was declared that Al Gore was the projected winner of the electoral votes in the state of Florida. However, a couple of hours later, the projection was retracted and restated as Florida as being too close to call. Then, just after 2am on November 8, the mistake was made for a second time. Therefore the Description Theory is not an adequate theory of proper name. I first provide a brief explanation of the Description Theory, and its sub theory, the Name Claim, followed by a brief overview of the main arguments for the Description Theory. I then provide a more detailed explanation of one direct argument: That it captures the intuitive logic of claims involving proper names. The author Barrie also adapted his story as well on a few occasions in many ways. In fact, Barrie was the first to plan a film scenario, however, his plan failed to be used for the first film adaptation of Peter Pan in 1924 (Barrie, 2011). In this analysis, the criticism of Peter Pan s movies will be separated in two ways, first, from the point of view that the film is an exact replica of the novel and the other point of view is that the viewer considers the film as an autonomous piece with different interpretations. I will first argue that Barrie s original text adapted by Walt Disney s version is not in keeping with the darker, intricate original story however, the film is an autonomous piece of art that successfully opens viewers to their personal interpretations. I will then consider extra cinematic codes of the interpretations for James Barrie s story of Peter Pan through the adaptation of the film, Finding Neverland, with focus on: language codes, visual codes, non linguistic sound codes and cultural codes (McFarlane, 1996). The current treatments options available for AFB are becoming progressively obsolete due to antibiotic resistance. Honey bee colonies are constantly exposed to these antibiotics until approximately two weeks before the honey is collected (Caron and Connor, 2013). As mentioned previously, this is the only effective way of killing the vegetative cells, but not the spores. The spores still persist within the colony and once the bacterium becomes resistant to treatment, it results in disastrous outcomes (Caron and Connor, 2013). Therefore, treatments that could neutralize these virulence factors should be sought after. Also, with the use of antibiotics, there are possibilities of toxic residues being found in the honey. • 17. Cure of the Streets The poet Rainer Maria Rilke says that a work of art is good if it has sprung from necessity (Farley). Hip Hop was born on the poor and dangerous streets of the USA. Minorities such as African Americans and Hispanics dominated these streets, and they felt the need to address their long standing common issues. Therefore, a new form of art, hip hop was born, and became the method of self expression for these minorities. Lyrics have presented what they have been through. While rap has turned from a tool of self expression to a multi billion dollar industry, it has continued to constructively affect the social and economic structure of the society. While serving as a good alternative to the streets, hip hop positively uplifts the cultural barriers within the society and educates the youth. In order to better understand the necessity and the influence of hip hop, the history of how and where this music emerged is highly important. Multisensory involves using fingers, letter tiles to manipulate the letters and spell words. Using a combination of visualization and kinesthetic to help them memorize new vocabularies, which is similar to a Montessori setting. Montessori believed the ideal curriculum for children with dyslexia is multisensory, structured, cumulative, and sequential (Skotheim M.K, 2008). • 22. How Motivation and Leadership Theories Can Be Applied. MOTIVATION THEORIES: Goal Setting Theory: In the late 1960s, Edwin Locke proposed that intentions to work toward a goad are a major source of work motivation. That is, goals tel an employee what needs to be done and how much effort will need to be made. Specific hard goals produce a higher level of output than does the generalized goal of do your best . Why? The specificity of the goal itself seems to act as an internal stimulus. For instance, when a trucker commits to making 12 round trips between Toronto and Buffalo, New York, each week, this intention gives him a specific objective to try to attain. The conclusion is that intentions as articulated in terms of hard and specific goals are the motivating force. Under... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 23. Essay On The American Colonies The American Colonies for the past 20 years have become accustomed to living a thousand miles from their sovereign, the King of England and Parliament. This separation from monarchial control and power has created a tough and independent society, which although they believe themselves to be subjects of the crown, has molded an experience and lifestyle unlike any found within the Crown s realm. Subsequently, these differences in lifestyles bond both Mother Country and colonyon a path that veers from the typical empirical rule that has ruled the known world for the last century. The journal asks what possible reasons Americans could have to begin to quarrel over our identity with the crown. We are not defiant because we simply have nothing else to do; rather we are defiant because we have been stepped on countless amounts of times by Parliament (specifically, the House of Commons) that insist that they are the guardians of British constitutional liberty only because of their victorious efforts against the tyranny of the Stuart kings of England. Yet, their understanding of a constitution is so much more different that they continue the same practices of the Stuarts. Take, for example, the nonsensical use of authority to create laws that exerts extensive pressures on American families, such as the passing of the General Writs of Assistance Case in 1761. The writ allows British government officials the general right to search and seize colonist s private property ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Someone in his society would be friends with another person merely because they could benefit them in some way. An example from the book that would prove he is correct is when Mildred uses Montag for the money he is able to provide her with. Lab Report For The Purpose Of Gram Staining Gram Staining Formal Lab Report Miranda King Intro Microbiology Dr. Hendrickson 13 September 2017 Purpose For the purpose of the gram staining experiment was to learn this specific type of staining technique, as well as learn how distinguish the differences between Gram positive and Gram negative stains. This technique uses crystal violet stain, Gram s Iodine, Ethyl Alcohol, and Safranin. These dyes are used in order to distinguish between the different types of cells. For example, Gram positive staining will result in a purple color, and Gram negative staining will result in a red or pinkish color (University of Central Oklahoma department of biology, 2016). When a bacteria results in a purple stain it is categorized as a gram positive stain because the alcohol that was used to decolorize the bacteria was not successful. Its cell wall is made with a thick layer of peptidoglycan and holds the crystal violet color (Case, Funke, Tortora). When a bacteria results in a red or pinkish color, this means that it loses the crystal violet dye color after being decolorized and keeps the Safranin dye. It would then become categorized as a gram negative stain (Case, Funke, Tortora). A gram negative bacteria has a cell wall made of a thin layer of peptidoglycan and a thick layer of lipopolysaccharides thus holding onto the red dye (Case, Funke, Tortora). Bacteria have different shapes and these shapes determine what family they belong in. There are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This optimal position is the one most likely to protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. Already well known for his strength before he defeated Grendel, it is said, Beowulf s doings were praised over and over again. To harness creative attributes and obtain superior work from employees and vendors of creative services, bosses and clients must understand their crucial role in the creative process. The boss or client in fact must not simply manage the process, but instead must lead the creative team. Leadership differs significantly from management. Muhammad had also freed his slave Baraka and even arranged a marriage for her (Stewart, 37). After the death of Baraka s husband she returned to Muhammad (Stewart, 37). Muhammad and his large family welcomed Baraka into their family (Stewart, 37). Earlier the preceding text discussed the mistreatment of slaves by the rich in Mecca.
