Jazz Music. The first piece, Lady Bird, by Tadd Dameron was written in 1939. The Jazz Ensemble
began the piece by putting their full hearts in it. By using repetition of the melody in the saxophones
and clarinets it helps the ensemble build suspense. Once the tenor saxophone comes in with a solo, the
performer runs through chromatic scales smoothly. The ensemble continues with the melody leading
to a heavy melody held in the trumpets until an alto saxophone comes in and takes the melody away.
The rest of the ensemble holds the countermelody that compliments the alto saxophone well. The alto
saxophone passes the melody to the piano where then it was passed to a trombone. This piece took one
melody and bounces it all around the ensemble to show off different performers abilities with their

history. However, she not only talks about her histories, she talks about the histories of the other
characters in the essay to bring across the larger world history. One of the technique s that Griffin uses
to help the audience understand her concepts, is explaining two other story lines while telling her main
story. The first one is a description of a cell. Throughout the essay, italicized sentences explaining the
intricacies of a cell are placed seemingly randomly between passages. The description begins with a
nucleus, and as the story progresses, so does the nucleus. Griffin tells what happens to the nucleus,
and how the inner workings of the nucleus develops into a cell, which gives rise to many cells, which
will eventually become an embryo. He other story line, also italicized sentences, goes through the
making and beginning of missiles. Later in the essay, Griffin explains how the one missile develops

and put themselves in harms way in order for this to get across to people. A second reason I felt
touched by the film is how they got individuals who have been personally hurt by dams to interview

after dams were built. Lastly, the statistics and data provided during the film really help to put a
number figure on how dams have impacted individuals and the environment; by the number of deaths

In Glen Canyon, two archeological teams had limited time to find as much archeological artifacts that
they could recover and document sites before the area was going to be flooded. The term they use is

As the world is changing dramatically in terms of the technology that was available a couple of
decades ago, so are the health challenges and threats that we are facing. In the 1980s, the major public
health problems were related to the wide spread presence of infectious diseases. However, in today s
world, the focus has shifted from infectious diseases to chronic diseases. As we dig deeper into
understanding the etiology of the chronic diseases, we notice that obesity has an association with a lot
of them.
To reverse this trend, the Healthy People 2020 has set Increasing the Proportion of Adults at a Healthy
Weight as one of its objectives. Some of the factors that are believed to effect obesity and overweight
are physical activity status and eating healthy. Here, we will be looking at two studies that have tried
to understand people s beliefs and motivation to address this objective.
The first of the two studies was on the association of social support and Body Mass Index (BMI), on
African American women from rural Deep South, conducted by Johnson ER et al. The two
interventions that were looked up at in this study are healthy eating, and exercising. The second study

way of socialization. Many scientists say that the progress of society has increased the complexity and

By far one of the most fascinating achievements of the Mayans was there methods and development
