Effects Of Video Games Essay
Video games and their effect on teenagers and young adults. This a big issue with many people
concerned with other people s health and their own. Especially for the past few years where video
games have become so popular among teens and young adults. Research has been done several times
over and over. So this why people are wondering is good or bad to play video games. Is playing video
games good or bad ? Research has shown that it helps to improve the cognitive function. According to
research, it changes the brain structure exactly the same way while playing the piano. It also helps the
same way as reading. The combination of concentration and the surge of neurotransmitters strengthens
the neural circuits that build the brain. Research has also proved that it helps hand and eye
coordination. It has shown teens can learn spatial, visual, and iconic skills from the video games.
Some games require a great deal of visual spatial ability and hand eye coordination to be
successful.the player has to coordinate the brain s reaction and interpretation with his hands and
fingertip movements. It also has to calculate the timing exactly. Video games also improve quick
thinking and accuracy. It trains that brain to make fast decisions without losing accuracy. Video games
can also train surgeons and soldiers. It improves child s decisions making skills. Teens playing video
games made decisions 25% faster without affecting accuracy. Video games have negative effects on

In the event that management s view is one that is pessimistic, the maximin rule would apply. BioMed
would set production at 342 units of production in order to minimize the maximum worst payoff
which is this case, is a loss of $249.
Management should be aware that both of the above options fail to consider any of the good or bad
outcomes.
BioMed management may also consider applying the minimax regret rule. Under this rule,
management would make a decision with the minimum worst potential regret by identifying the
maximum possible potential regret for each decision. In this case, production would be set at 407 units
yielding a maximum possible regret of $1,526.
This report provides a clear recommendation for average daily production capacity for the next 12
months. The analysis and various decision rules will assist management to provide a direction that will
enable the best outcome when faced with uncertainty when combined with the risk tolerance.

Jesse Owens Research Papers
Jesse Owens full name was James Cleveland Owens. Jesse was born on September 12, 1913 in
Oakville, Alabama and died on March 31, 1980 in Tuscan, Arizona. As a kid he was expected to work
in cotton fields even when he was sick. He was sick with chronic bronchial congestion and
pneumonia. While he was in the fields Jesse had to carry 100 lbs. a day. On Sundays he had to go to
church and on Sunday nights he went to bed as soon as the sun went down. He went to bed that early
because he had to get up at 4:00 in the morning to work the fields. When Jesse turned 9 he moved to
Cleveland, Ohio. Jesses father had trouble keeping a steady job, so his mom got a job as a cleaning
lady. While his parents were working his older brother and sister watched ... Show more content on

Cleveland. Everyone in Cleveland welcomed him back with open arms, the only thing they wouldn t
do was give him a job. After he retired from running he opened a business in Chicago, Illinois. The
business was public relations and marketing. He traveled around the United States to attend
conventions and other business gatherings. Jesse was wanting to be in baseball or football. At the time
African Americans weren t allowed to play in either sports. A good thoroughbred is twice as fast as a
human. When he was racing his first racehorse Jesse ran faster than he ever did. After the race he
learned that the hoarse was actually ten yards behind him. The things he didn t like about racing
horses was that he was away from family. He wasn t sure if it was participating in athletic events or
making a spectacle of himself. Finally Jesse quit and went back to Cleveland. In Cleveland he went to
work at the playground. One night he was visited by someone from Australia. He and Jesse talked
about the Olympics. Around nine o clock the Australian left. Jesse moved to Detroit. His mother died
and soon after his father did too. Detroit and Cleveland had made bad memories for Jesse. He moved
to Detroit for a new start. Detroit didn t work out so well for him. So he thought Chicago, Illinois was
going to be a good place to start a business. In 1956 Jesse was appointed Ambassador of Sport for the
United States. With this he was offered to travel around the world too teach kids good sportsmanship
and competition. After a while of that he was finally director of sports clinics of its Youth
Commission. In 1960 before the Olympic Games his daughter was elected queen of homecoming

The Upside of Down syndrome
Down syndrome is a common chromosomal disorder that is caused by abnormal cell division resulting
in extra genetic material from Chromosome 21. Down syndrome occurs frequently in that 1 out of 800
babies are born with this disorder. Those born with Down syndrome tend to experience specific
physical characteristics, cognitive impairments, mental and medical help problems. Down syndrome is
extremely special to me because I grew up with an aunt who has this disorder. My aunt Lisa is
beautiful, funny, outgoing, and smart. She lives and enjoys life as it is thrown to her. Some days are
harder than others, but she is 62 years old and refuses to let her disability hinder her life. Down
syndrome is not who she is, but something she has.
Dr. John Langdon Down was an English physician who had a strong calling towards mental
retardation and was the first to describe what he felt was someone with Down syndrome. He based his
findings off of distinct characteristics. Before this syndrome got the name Down syndrome he used the
term Mongloid due to the similarities that were shared in the Mongolian race. It wasn t until later
when they determined the cause of Down syndrome, which is an extra chromosome. Therefore
making Down syndrome a chromosomal disorder. This condition is characterized by a combination of
major and minor differences in body structure. Typically, doctors are able to

The Principles Of Law And Ethics In Health
Law and Ethics in Health Introduction Ethics and as sometimes called morals is the concept of what is
right or wrong or what one is supposed to do or not do. Health practitioners are guided by ethical
principles to help them make informed decisions. There are various Ethical theories that can be
applied in different situations. Consequentialism theory helps to know the consequence of any action
taken by a health practitioner. Deontology deals with the duties and practices of the doctors or nurses.
Health workers that tend to adhere so much on this theory may have conflicts with other individuals at
work. Virtue theory deals with the morals of an individual. Principlism theory requires that the health
practitioners adhere to the communal, religious and person believes of the patient. ... Show more

All healthcare service providers are required to balance all these principles. Ethical decisions are not
so simple to make especially where the decision will have an effect on the practitioner. Legal
framework allows team decision making to make proper decisions. Law is a set of rules that are
derived from ethical or religious backgrounds and they are intended to control the inter relations in a
society with the aim of maintaining order. Like other institutions individuals in the healthcare sector
are protected by law to ensure none of them is harmed. The patients have their rights as stipulated by
the law and it is the responsibility if the healthcare providers to uphold their rights. On the other hand,
health practitioners are also protected by the law which guides them on the appropriate decision to

An Ohio court ruled that the police needed a warrant to search a cellphone because, unlike a piece of
paper that might be stuffed inside a suspect s pocket and can be confiscated during an arrest, a
cellphone may hold large amounts of private data.
But California s highest court said the police could look through a cellphone without a warrant so long
as the phone was with the suspect at the time of arrest.
Judges across the nation have written tomes about whether a cellphone is akin to a container like a
suitcase stuffed with marijuana that the police might find in the trunk of a car or whether, as the judge
in the Rhode Island murder case suggested, it is more comparable to a face to face conversation. That
judge, Judith C. Savage, described text messages as raw, unvarnished and immediate, revealing the
most intimate of thoughts and emotions. That is why, she said, citizens can reasonably expect them to
be private.
There is little disagreement about the value of cellphone data to the police. In response to a
Congressional inquiry, cellphone carriers said they responded in 2011 to 1.3 million demands from
law enforcement agencies for text messages and other information about subscribers.
Among the most precious information in criminal inquiries is the location of suspects, and when it
comes to location records captured by smartphones, court rulings have also been inconsistent. Privacy

Christian Counseling Goals
Part 1: Christian Counseling goals Compared to Secular Counseling Goals
The main goal in Christian counseling is to get the individual to move over to Christ, and then to
move up to glorification. By doing this they allow themselves to let God to start healing their personal
problems. In a sense it is similar to the, rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) model. Even
though, this model was created to be an atheistic model that did not require God to intervene, the main
premise of the model is to help allow the client to realize if they change their inner thought proses it
will allow them to effect change. However, this model can be used to manipulate the client s religious

Essay on Optimism and Personality Trait
Optimism could be considered a condition of the mind that makes one believe that the best things will
always happen to them. A common idiom used to illustrate optimism versus pessimism is a glass with
water at the halfway point, where the optimist is said to see the glass as half full, but the pessimist sees
the glass as half empty. Optimists tend to see adversity as temporary; more specifically they view the
obstacle as limited to the situation and not generalized.
1) How does the personality trait develop in humans? Where does it appear to come from? (20 pts)
According to Alan Carr, author of Positive Psychology: The Science of Happiness and Human
Strengths, the development of optimism may be determined by parental mental health, the ... Show

Parents also reinforce optimism and perseverance by encouraging their children to deal with any type
of obstacle in a positive way. Life is full of hurdles but it s the way we deal with these difficulties that
shape our expectations of things.
2) What purpose or function does the trait appear to serve? (20 pts)
Optimism can be a powerful tool to motivate people to do things that we might have reservations
about. Humans have the intellectual power to look ahead and anticipate any likely outcomes. In our
everyday lives we take on numerous tasks a throughout our live whether it is studying for finals,
starting a new project at work or starting a new diet. An article by Annie Paul in Psychology Today
gave the example of how even an ordinary effort like going on a diet can benefit from dose of
optimism. A review of dieting studies show that more than two thirds of dieters gain back more weight
than they initially thought. With such a grim outlook on dieting, optimism gives people the much
needed motivation to believe that their goal is achievable (Paul 2011). If you stopped and took a
minute to think about how much work you had to put in or how much of a risk you could be taking,
you might never even make the attempt. Optimism has such a commanding force that it has the ability
to convince you that things will work out just long enough to take the step forward and make an effort
to accomplish that task. For example, a student in medical school will put a tremendous amount

European Union Integration And Deliberative Democracy
2.0 European Union integration and deliberative democracy The European Union (EU) was
established back in (REFERENCE) with the aim of (REFERENCE peace and economic prosperity).
Since then, much has happened, and the EU is now considered more than just an economic
collaboration. This brings along both new challenges and new opportunities when considering the
future EU. Recent developments has shown an increasingly worry about the economic situation in the
EU (REFERENCE GREECE AND SPAIN), which challenges the legitimacy of the EU as solely an
economic union if the internal economy is falling apart, how can we then justify the upholding of the

The political relationship between nation states is built upon negotiations between national
governments. In this sense, the theory draws upon an ration actor model , where the nation state is the
primary analytical unit of interest, and intergovernmental negotiations are the context (Cini, 2007, p.
97). More precisely, Moravcsik writes that Actors calculate the alternative courses of action and
choose the one that maximizes (or satisfies) their utility under the circumstances. (Moravcik and
Schimmelfennig, 2009, p. 68). He argues that nation states in the EU seek to maximise economic
profit based on existing preferences. This form of rationality indirectly implies that a collaboration
between EU countries is undesirable when there is no economic profit to be made by the nation state.
This also means that the theory is unable to accommodate alternative forms of political integration. If
one believes in the idea that EU integration is (or should be) built upon economic profitable results
alone, then it should be no surprise that the EU is currently witnessing the appearance of an increasing
number of euroscepticist parties within several EU countries. The other main theory about EU
integration, namely the neofunctionalist (NF) tradition, opposes the idea of LI in several ways. One of
the main differences is the NF notion of positive spillover effects, e.g. that integration within the
economic sector provides strong incentives for integration within other sectors.

Chapter 6 Overview The final section of this dissertation will focus on reflecting upon the experience
of undertaking a dissertation, what learning has occurred and how this will influence future practice as

The author chose this model as it is a simpler model than Gibbs (1998) model, Rolfe et al (2001)
poses the questions What? So what? And Now what? The author felt due to its simplicity that this
model was more suited to this reflection. What? The author undertook a twelve thousand word

So what? From completing this dissertation the author has learnt just how important research is and
how essential it is for nurses to have an in depth understanding of the care they are giving to their
patients. This dissertation has helped the author have a great knowledge on CBT and just how
effective and valuable it is in treating people who have sexually offended. Undertaking a patchwork
assessment made the author reflect upon patient care and although we may consider an individual s
care needs individually, holistic care is the ultimate aim in delivering high quality patient care.
Holistic care is seeing the patient as a physical, spiritual and psychological whole and not just
focusing on one particular area (NursingTimes.Net 2009). A patchwork text is a type of assessment
which consists of smaller sections that once put together becomes a comprehensible and combined
piece of work (Scoggins and Winter 1999). Research is essential in all areas of nursing as nurses have
a duty to ensure they are up to date with all relevant developments in nursing and should be able to
give rationale for all care they give. Nursing research expands the evidence base and improves clinical
practice (NursingTimes.Net 2014). Nurses need to have the ability to research a subject in order to
keep up to date with the ever changing nursing practice and ultimately improve the delivery of care to

Daisy and Myrtle: The Women of The Great Gatsby
Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby is a fascinating work that details the corruptive influence of greed. The
main character is a man named Gatsby. The two main female characters are Daisy and Myrtle. These
two women provide an interesting contrast while complementing each other at the same time. Daisy is
living a life of luxury while Myrtle is struggling to make ends meet. They both play major roles in the
novel, and, although their intentions seem pure and promising enough, they both are doomed to
succumb to greed which causes eventual death.

them. Death is one of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She aches to be part of an elite class like Daisy, but instead, she is married to a man who is hard
working and honest but does not have the passion that she craves. Wilson, Myrtle s dumb witted
husband, owns a garage. Because Wilson is a passive aggressive character, he does not want to admit
to himself that his wife would cheat on him, even though Tom makes it apparent that Myrtle is more
his wife or property than she will ever be to Wilson. For example, when Tom visits Myrtle at the
garage Myrtle orders Wilson to fetch some chairs while she gives her true lover a warm greeting.
Wilson gives to Myrtle his complete trust in the same way he provides Myrtle with what she asks for,
but she abuses it. She takes her husband for granted while at the same time, she gazes at Tom sitting
on a pedestal she has made for him. Tom is the man that can make Myrtle s every fantasy come true,
but also the man that will lead to her early death. Myrtle is seen to be a fun and floozy mistress, but
not as a real wife. She, as superficial as it may be, is not someone that Tom could take to parties and
introduce to his parents. Myrtle controls Wilson, while Tom manipulates her simply for enjoyment.
For example, Tom tells Myrtle that the reason they could never wed is because his wife, Daisy, is
Catholic and she would never stand for a divorce. In this scene, Catherine, Myrtle s sister, tells Nick

Christians) would give what has been predetermined in their hearts, no more, no less to the chosen
cause. In fact, some clergies have convictions about accepting any pay for work do in the church! It
seems crazy: the idea of working a second job after hours of labor is not for the faint of heart, but for
those who are convinced it is what God has called them to do, it becomes a passionate endeavor.
Coupled with certain convictions and preferences over pay, a clergy might also in effect have to crop

this career path. Furthermore, clergies often do not have large amounts of job security as their career is

What Are The Benefits Of Raising The Driving Age To Drive...
Too Young to Drive
The other night I received a call in the middle of the night from my best friend. Her older brother,
Vijay had been in a terrible car accident, and even though the doctors said he would live, it was going
to be a long and painful recovery. Vijay is 16 years old, and like most kids his age had eagerly awaited
being old enough to get his driver s license. At the time of the accident, two of Vijay s friends were
passengers in his car. The friends admitted that they had been changing the radio station and goofing
around while Vijay was driving, and that he may have been distracted when he veered into oncoming
traffic. This car accident is proof that driving and minors do not mix. Raising the legal driving age to
18 will save lives.
Statistics show the potential for danger every time a teenager gets behind the wheel. According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens
in the United States. In fact, drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 are three times more likely to be in
a deadly car crash than older drivers. In 2010, seven teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19 died
every day from car related injuries. In addition, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety states that

they are careful enough to do both, even though taking their eyes off the road for just a few seconds

How I Become A Master Driver
How To Become a Master Driver One of the greatest accomplishments in a teenager s life is receiving
their driver s license. Obtaining a license gives a teenager freedom and a newfound sense of
independence because they are no longer at their parents mercy and can drive themselves. However,
becoming a skillful and master driver is so important, rather than just getting a driver s license. A
master driver is someone who is truly aware of the dangers associated with driving, and he or she
knows how to handle them in an effective manner. Every year countless accidents occur by reckless
drivers, which leads to numerous deaths. I believe everyone can become a master driver just by
following basic driving rules. I will define a master driver who has four qualities: a master driver
always obeys traffic rules, a master driver always cares about his safety and others, a master driver
always wears a seat belt and ask others to do the same, and a master driver always scans his
surroundings. First of all, in order to become a master drive an individual needs to obey all traffic
rules and regulations. Most accidents occur because some drivers fail to recognize, respect, and obey
some important traffic signs and road markings. There are important requirements to be a safe and
responsible driver. Making a complete stop at stop signs is very important. Always slow down when
the light turns yellow, rather than speeding up. Furthermore, in the rainy weather always follow road

How Did Dumas Become A Man Of Social Class
Many people wonder if movies portray any aspects about the author life. The movie The Count of
Monte Cristo written by Alexandre Dumas is about a man named Edmond Dantes, a poor classed man
who had been seeking for revenge on the wealthy upper classed men named Fernand Mondego and J.F
Villefort. These men had planned an act so that they would be able to send Dantes to prison and take
advantage of him to get what they had wanted. After Dantes had escaped the prison he then was able
to find wealth greater than no other and took the position of the count of Monte Cristo. Dumas, the
author is a man who was born into a high class in France and because of the sudden death of his
father, he was no longer considered to being a wealthy person. Then Dumas had started to write plays
and novels which had brought him to collecting a lot of money raising ... Show more content on

When looking at both Dumas s life and his the story of The Count of Monte Cristo he had written,
both have the similarity of having to do with the rise of status from low to high class. This
demonstrates that Dumas had portrayed Dantes lifestyle in the movie to being somewhat like his; Man
of poorness to the man of wealthiness. First, Alexandre Dumas starts off by presenting himself as a
man of low social class because when looking at the film it is shown that the movie is from Dantes
perspective. Dantes is a man who had been considered to being very poor and low classed at the
beginning of the movie. Dumas displayed Dantes as a person who couldn t read or fight with a sword
meaning that he had no education and was not taught swordsmanship whatsoever. He had also
displayed the comparison between the rich and the poor by showing how Mondego who was raised in

Assimilation Literature Review
Section 1:
All of the rhetors agree that assimilation is a problem. However, the issue is figuring out whether the
assimilation of immigrants is either a cultural and/or language conflict, or, if it is an issue of
whiteness. The reason this is an issue is because there are some authors that focus on current situations
with assimilation, and then you have those who base assimilation on situations that are bygone.

Essay on Value Systems and Successful Markets
Economic success defines a nations success in modern day society. Sure India has had a prosperous
past. But as we continue in this post colonial world, the need to prove ourselves has only been higher.
It has been over 60 years since we achieved independence and became a republic, we are yet to prove
our potential to the world. The world s parameter to determine our capabilities are high, just as it
ought to be to encourage each nation to develop to its fullest ability. Competition generally helps
nations to do better and achieve greater. When we first gained independence much of the idea of

This idea in India became popular as it was to hope that it would strive to get rid of patronisation that
the colonial and the Mughal powers catered to.
Democracy was initiated in order to equate all citizens of this nation. We did this so that we had a
situation where each one had the equal opportunity to grow. When we have a democracy as large as
India, it is unthinkable to have corruption existing along its lines. The idea of democracy was to guide
us away from the sinking boat and lead us through the darkest nights. It was the idea of emancipation
that democracy brought within itself. But within the next couple of years, democracy was yet to bring
in any of its promised propositions. Instead the ugly face of the opposite of democracy became
popular yet again, that of patronage. We were back to square one; we had not yet evolved from our
dark past. We were still stuck in it. We were a corrupt nation that allowed for deep inequality. Poverty
and hunger continue to reel in the minds of our western counter parts when they imagined India. The
patronage policy was set forth with the rise of Indira Gandhi in the late 1960 s and early 1970 s. It was
a known fact that patronage would allow chief ministers to gain a position of power in the cabinet or
any other position at the centre. The shuffling and change of chief ministers in the state of

Industry Description and Outlook Based off an article Miami Herald in 2014, dog grooming and

of these companies would be .0017% market share, while the higher end businesses in the pet services
industry make $1,000,000+ annually which translates to a .017% market share. I did get a chance to
speak to a representative from the Pet Paradise Resort and Day Spa which said that they make an

Freud Ego And Super Ego
Freud was an Austrian neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis; he was born on 6th May 1856 and
died 23rd September 1939 in London. Freud developed psychoanalysis which looked into dreams,
fantasies and someone s free association. The psychodynamic approach looks into the unconscious
(unware) and how this effects behavior and the conscious (aware) and the relation between them in
our mind (psyche). Freud s theories about child sexuality, ego s and what makes us tick were most
influential in the 20th century. Psychodynamic approach bases its theory on three unconscious
structures known as Id, ego and super ego. Id is the impulsive part of the structure, following basic
animal instincts of indulgence. If the psyche has a strong id, the person would have no regard for other
people, would be confrontational, would be driven by sexual impulses and would not fit in well with
society. The super ego is the opposite of id, it is the conscience stating the right and wrong and
repressive of any confrontation. If someone has a strong super ego it is likely that they would be very
withdrawn and anxious with no confidence. Ego is the part of the psyche that adapts to the
environment; it judges what is acceptable in certain social situations and control the id and the super
ego for a healthy balance. Freud states that these structures of the psyche are developed in early
childhood years and the ego continues to develop as we grow older. Due to the early development
stages Freud assumes

Similarities Between The Heart And The Human Body
The hidden similarities to the human body
The heart and the brain are both uniquely fascinating organs in the human body. People probably
believe the heart and the brain are very different from each other. They probably think the brain is
what we use to think, make decisions, do well on English papers, and how we know how to do our
jobs. They probably think the heart is how we pump blood through the body, what the doctor listens to
during patient checkups, or that we have had a meal that just didn t agree with us. These do seem like
quite different organs; however, these organs are actually quite similar in certain ways. Even though
the heart and brain are two different organs, they have common characteristics that are essential for
the body to operate properly.
First, the heart and brain are similar in they both function using an electrical system. The brain has
neurons, which send electrical impulses throughout the body to notify the body of certain senses and
tasks (Martini et al. 410). For example, when someone touches something hot such as a clothing iron,
then their immediate reaction is to remove their hand. If an object gets near the eye, then people blink
to protect the eye. These reactions are all because the brain has received an electrical impulse that
triggers a message of what to do like move the hand and blink the eye. The heart also has an electrical
system. The heart has a conductive pathway that consists of electrical impulses that tell the heart when

Political historian Thomas A. Bailey of Standford stated, Lincoln was undeniably a great man... In
spirit, in humility, in humanity, in magnanimity, in patience, in Christlike spirit, in capacity for growth,
in political instincts, in holding together a discordant political following, in interpreting and leading
public opinion and in seizing with bulldog grip the essential idea of preserving the Union. Lincoln was
a political genius. His greatness shined when he brought the nation through its crisis. Democrats had
hoped that the Kansas Nebraska Act would calm the passions of the slavery issue. Because this had an
opposite effect, Lincoln not only saw this, but crafted a rhetorical concept of both the crisis and a
pathway for getting through it. He made a way for the 13th amendment, getting rid of slavery in the
U.S.. His perseverance and determination not only saved the Union, but insured, in his own words, a
new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish
from the earth. Along with his leadership skills, Lincoln had a great personality and was very
empathetic towards others. People gravitated towards him for his presence. Lincoln sought the good in
those around him. His speeches are considered some of the best speeches in

The Television Show South Park
The difference between the intended meaning of media texts and what the audience actually perceives
can be shockingly different. Producers of media can do everything possible to force audiences to
experience their work in the way they want them to, but in the end they still take away many different
meanings even within the same audience. Stuart Hall outlines this in his encoding and decoding
model. One of the most apparent examples of this is the television show South Park. The television
show South Park is a media text with the producers preferred meaning of being decoded as joke or as
being satire, but many audience members take an oppositional stance of taking it seriously. This is
clear from the examples of controversy when South Park aired episodes focused on Scientology, red
headed people, and Islam. Through these examples it is demonstrated that the producers of media have
less power compared to the audience in determining the meaning of media. In Hall s encoding and
decoding model he argues that encoding and decoding the meaning of media is not a single sided
process but one shared by both the producers and the audience. The producers encode their preferred
meaning into the media using frameworks of knowledge, relations of production, and technical
infrastructure (Hall, 1997). Frameworks of knowledge are the producers beliefs and what they assume
about the audience s beliefs. Relations of production are the needs of the financial side of the industry.

Descriptive Essay About Concert
Over the last four years, I ve gone to over thirty concerts for artists whose genres range from pop, rap,
and alternative. Since I m experienced with them, I m aware of the different price ranges and the stage
performances. After my first concert, I started working so that I could afford to have concerts as a
hobby. Even though I have gone to many different types of concerts, like pop, rap, and alternative, my
favorite kind to experience are alternative concerts.
My first concert was also my first time seeing a pop band. Every teenager loved One Direction,
including me, and dreamed of seeing them live one day. This experience meant a lot to me since it was
a band that I had loved for a very long time. The tickets were a gift from my mother, Melissa, and I
went with my sister, Melisvette. During that, I realized how happy concerts made me and got a job so
that I could continue experiencing moments like these. What I didn t want to experience, though, was
the price it was to go to pop concerts.
I wasn t worried about the price of tickets until I started paying for them myself. As a kid, I didn t
contemplate the cost since my mother bought them as a present, but then I started to realize how
ludicrous the prices could be. At the time, I was really into popular bands and artist, so the concerts
were always expensive. I bought tickets to see popular artists like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, and
Twenty One Pilots, twice. These were the ones I spent the most money on and the seating was just not
worth it.
In 2014, I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to go to a Demi Lovato concert. This was the second pop
concert I ve been to and the first time I traveled a few hours for a concert. At the time, I was still new
to concerts, but I started to see a theme with pop concerts. They were always the most expensive
compared to others and the seats were never that great. For Demi, I spent over $150 to sit in a seat that
wasn t even close to her. Even though her concert meant a lot to me, because I looked up to Demi
Lovato, I just found it unfair how expensive these kinds of concerts were. Compared to other concerts
I ve been to; the popular artists were always the ones to put the least amount of effort into their
performances. Their

Why Is Barry Minkow Unethical
After reading the case, it was truly fascinating how a very young man, Barry Minkow, could pull off
such a huge fraud and how greed and audaciousness can make someone become so unethical. The fact
that a young man had a goal and would do everything and anything to make sure he reaches his goal
led him to commit fraud through his fake insurance restoration business. It all started when he was 15
years old and was driven to be successful, so he began a carpet cleaning business but soon came to

customers for his business was by calling channel 4 in Los Angeles, pretending to be a fact customer,

This shows that Minkow is an egoist because his only concern was himself and how he could benefit
himself and did everything to make sure he was continuing to make money. He defies the 6 Pillars of
Character, which are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. As the
case was briefly explained Barry broke each pillar by lying to everyone and creating the phony
company. He was also lying about his revenue and overcharging customers for services, which is
unfair because he is stealing from people who trusted him. He had the responsibility to do what was
right and didn t because he didn t care about anyone but himself and becoming successful.
Since the auditors failed to do their job properly, they should be held liable for failing to plan and
perform the audit to discover material fraud. The red flags the auditors should have picked up when
conducting the audit included rapid growth, bank transfers and other accounts, the avoidance of
confirming the insurance restoration jobs, consistency of all the invoices, extravagant life style, cash
flow problems, and problems meeting loan payments. Also the auditors never looked at construction
contracts, issues, and whether ZZZZ Best had the necessary permits to do the work. This shows the
auditors failed to exercise professional skepticism.
Due to the failure of the auditors the customers and banks were

He wasn t sure if it was participating in athletic events or making a spectacle of himself. Finally Jesse quit and went back to Cleveland. In Cleveland he went to work at the playground. One night he was visited by someone from Australia. He and Jesse talked about the Olympics. Around nine o clock the Australian left. Jesse moved to Detroit. His mother died and soon after his father did too. Detroit and Cleveland had made bad memories for Jesse. He moved to Detroit for a new start. Detroit didn t work out so well for him. So he thought Chicago, Illinois was going to be a good place to start a business. In 1956 Jesse was appointed Ambassador of Sport for the United States. With this he was offered to travel around the world too teach kids good sportsmanship and competition. After a while of that he was finally director of sports clinics of its Youth Commission. Down syndrome occurs frequently in that 1 out of 800 babies are born with this disorder. Those born with Down syndrome tend to experience specific physical characteristics, cognitive impairments, mental and medical help problems. Some days are harder than others, but she is 62 years old and refuses to let her disability hinder her life. Down syndrome is not who she is, but something she has. Dr. John Langdon Down was an English physician who had a strong calling towards mental retardation and was the first to describe what he felt was someone with Down syndrome. He based his findings off of distinct characteristics. Before this syndrome got the name Down syndrome he used the term Mongloid due to the similarities that were shared in the Mongolian race. In our everyday lives we take on numerous tasks a throughout our live whether it is studying for finals, starting a new project at work or starting a new diet. An article by Annie Paul in Psychology Today gave the example of how even an ordinary effort like going on a diet can benefit from dose of optimism. A review of dieting studies show that more than two thirds of dieters gain back more weight than they initially thought. With such a grim outlook on dieting, optimism gives people the much needed motivation to believe that their goal is achievable (Paul 2011). If you stopped and took a minute to think about how much work you had to put in or how much of a risk you could be taking, you might never even make the attempt. The political relationship between nation states is built upon negotiations between national governments. In this sense, the theory draws upon an ration actor model , where the nation state is the primary analytical unit of interest, and intergovernmental negotiations are the context (Cini, 2007, p. 97). More precisely, Moravcsik writes that Actors calculate the alternative courses of action and choose the one that maximizes (or satisfies) their utility under the circumstances. (Moravcik and Schimmelfennig, 2009, p. 68). He argues that nation states in the EU seek to maximise economic profit based on existing preferences. This form of rationality indirectly implies that a collaboration between EU countries is undesirable when there is no economic profit to be made by the nation state. This also means that the theory is unable to accommodate alternative forms of political integration. If one believes in the idea that EU integration is (or should be) built upon economic profitable results alone, then it should be no surprise that the EU is currently witnessing the appearance of an increasing number of euroscepticist parties within several EU countries. The other main theory about EU integration, namely the neofunctionalist (NF) tradition, opposes the idea of LI in several ways. Race Can Preclude Acceptance for Immigrants. New York Times. New York Times Co. 5 June 2013.Web. 21 July 2015. • 29. Essay on Value Systems and Successful Markets Economic success defines a nations success in modern day society. Sure India has had a prosperous past. But as we continue in this post colonial world, the need to prove ourselves has only been higher. Democracy was initiated in order to equate all citizens of this nation. We did this so that we had a situation where each one had the equal opportunity to grow. When we have a democracy as large as India, it is unthinkable to have corruption existing along its lines. The idea of democracy was to guide us away from the sinking boat and lead us through the darkest nights. It was the idea of emancipation that democracy brought within itself. But within the next couple of years, democracy was yet to bring in any of its promised propositions. Instead the ugly face of the opposite of democracy became popular yet again, that of patronage. We were back to square one; we had not yet evolved from our dark past. We were still stuck in it. We were a corrupt nation that allowed for deep inequality. Poverty and hunger continue to reel in the minds of our western counter parts when they imagined India. The patronage policy was set forth with the rise of Indira Gandhi in the late 1960 s and early 1970 s. It was a known fact that patronage would allow chief ministers to gain a position of power in the cabinet or any other position at the centre. The shuffling and change of chief ministers in the state of Maharashtra in the 1970 s and 80 s are a clear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Freud Ego And Super Ego Freud was an Austrian neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis; he was born on 6th May 1856 and died 23rd September 1939 in London. Freud developed psychoanalysis which looked into dreams, fantasies and someone s free association. The psychodynamic approach looks into the unconscious (unware) and how this effects behavior and the conscious (aware) and the relation between them in our mind (psyche). Freud s theories about child sexuality, ego s and what makes us tick were most influential in the 20th century. Psychodynamic approach bases its theory on three unconscious structures known as Id, ego and super ego. Id is the impulsive part of the structure, following basic animal instincts of indulgence. If the psyche has a strong id, the person would have no regard for other people, would be confrontational, would be driven by sexual impulses and would not fit in well with society. The super ego is the opposite of id, it is the conscience stating the right and wrong and repressive of any confrontation. If someone has a strong super ego it is likely that they would be very withdrawn and anxious with no confidence. Ego is the part of the psyche that adapts to the environment; it judges what is acceptable in certain social situations and control the id and the super ego for a healthy balance. Freud states that these structures of the psyche are developed in early childhood years and the ego continues to develop as we grow older. Due to the early development stages Freud assumes ... • 35. Similarities Between The Heart And The Human Body The hidden similarities to the human body The heart and the brain are both uniquely fascinating organs in the human body. People probably believe the heart and the brain are very different from each other. They probably think the brain is what we use to think, make decisions, do well on English papers, and how we know how to do our jobs. They probably think the heart is how we pump blood through the body, what the doctor listens to during patient checkups, or that we have had a meal that just didn t agree with us. These do seem like quite different organs; however, these organs are actually quite similar in certain ways. Even though the heart and brain are two different organs, they have common characteristics that are essential for the body to operate properly. First, the heart and brain are similar in they both function using an electrical system. The brain has neurons, which send electrical impulses throughout the body to notify the body of certain senses and tasks (Martini et al. 410). For example, when someone touches something hot such as a clothing iron, then their immediate reaction is to remove their hand. If an object gets near the eye, then people blink to protect the eye. These reactions are all because the brain has received an electrical impulse that triggers a message of what to do like move the hand and blink the eye. The heart also has an electrical system. The heart has a conductive pathway that consists of electrical impulses that tell the heart when to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bailey of Standford stated, Lincoln was undeniably a great man... In spirit, in humility, in humanity, in magnanimity, in patience, in Christlike spirit, in capacity for growth, in political instincts, in holding together a discordant political following, in interpreting and leading public opinion and in seizing with bulldog grip the essential idea of preserving the Union. Lincoln was a political genius. His greatness shined when he brought the nation through its crisis. Democrats had hoped that the Kansas Nebraska Act would calm the passions of the slavery issue. Because this had an opposite effect, Lincoln not only saw this, but crafted a rhetorical concept of both the crisis and a pathway for getting through it. He made a way for the 13th amendment, getting rid of slavery in the U.S.. His perseverance and determination not only saved the Union, but insured, in his own words, a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. • 37. The Television Show South Park The difference between the intended meaning of media texts and what the audience actually perceives can be shockingly different. Producers of media can do everything possible to force audiences to experience their work in the way they want them to, but in the end they still take away many different meanings even within the same audience. Stuart Hall outlines this in his encoding and decoding model. One of the most apparent examples of this is the television show South Park. The television show South Park is a media text with the producers preferred meaning of being decoded as joke or as being satire, but many audience members take an oppositional stance of taking it seriously. This is clear from the examples of controversy when South Park aired episodes focused on Scientology, red headed people, and Islam. Through these examples it is demonstrated that the producers of media have less power compared to the audience in determining the meaning of media. In Hall s encoding and decoding model he argues that encoding and decoding the meaning of media is not a single sided process but one shared by both the producers and the audience. The producers encode their preferred meaning into the media using frameworks of knowledge, relations of production, and technical infrastructure (Hall, 1997). Frameworks of knowledge are the producers beliefs and what they assume about the audience s beliefs. Relations of production are the needs of the financial side of the industry. Technical ... • 38. Descriptive Essay About Concert Over the last four years, I ve gone to over thirty concerts for artists whose genres range from pop, rap, and alternative. Since I m experienced with them, I m aware of the different price ranges and the stage performances. After my first concert, I started working so that I could afford to have concerts as a hobby. Even though I have gone to many different types of concerts, like pop, rap, and alternative, my favorite kind to experience are alternative concerts. My first concert was also my first time seeing a pop band. Every teenager loved One Direction, including me, and dreamed of seeing them live one day. This experience meant a lot to me since it was a band that I had loved for a very long time. The tickets were a gift from my mother, Melissa, and I went with my sister, Melisvette. During that, I realized how happy concerts made me and got a job so that I could continue experiencing moments like these. What I didn t want to experience, though, was the price it was to go to pop concerts. I wasn t worried about the price of tickets until I started paying for them myself. As a kid, I didn t contemplate the cost since my mother bought them as a present, but then I started to realize how ludicrous the prices could be. At the time, I was really into popular bands and artist, so the concerts were always expensive. I bought tickets to see popular artists like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, and Twenty One Pilots, twice. These were the ones I spent the most money on and the seating was just not worth it. In 2014, I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to go to a Demi Lovato concert. This was the second pop concert I ve been to and the first time I traveled a few hours for a concert. At the time, I was still new to concerts, but I started to see a theme with pop concerts. They were always the most expensive compared to others and the seats were never that great. For Demi, I spent over $150 to sit in a seat that wasn t even close to her. Even though her concert meant a lot to me, because I looked up to Demi Lovato, I just found it unfair how expensive these kinds of concerts were. Compared to other concerts I ve been to; the popular artists were always the ones to put the least amount of effort into their performances. Their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Is Barry Minkow Unethical After reading the case, it was truly fascinating how a very young man, Barry Minkow, could pull off such a huge fraud and how greed and audaciousness can make someone become so unethical. The fact that a young man had a goal and would do everything and anything to make sure he reaches his goal led him to commit fraud through his fake insurance restoration business. It all started when he was 15 years old and was driven to be successful, so he began a carpet cleaning business but soon came to realize that he would make it big if he were in the insurance restoration business. He defies the 6 Pillars of Character, which are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. As the case was briefly explained Barry broke each pillar by lying to everyone and creating the phony company. He was also lying about his revenue and overcharging customers for services, which is unfair because he is stealing from people who trusted him. He had the responsibility to do what was right and didn t because he didn t care about anyone but himself and becoming successful. Since the auditors failed to do their job properly, they should be held liable for failing to plan and perform the audit to discover material fraud. The red flags the auditors should have picked up when conducting the audit included rapid growth, bank transfers and other accounts, the avoidance of confirming the insurance restoration jobs, consistency of all the invoices, extravagant life style, cash flow problems, and problems meeting loan payments. Also the auditors never looked at construction contracts, issues, and whether ZZZZ Best had the necessary permits to do the work. This shows the auditors failed to exercise professional skepticism.
