How Facebook Marketing Is Violating Consumer Privacy Essay
How Facebook Marketing is Violating Consumer Privacy
The marketing industry is an elaborate network that links companies to their consumers, primarily
through written communication. The main objective of marketing is to identify trends and patterns in
consumer behavior, and utilize the data to influence consumers to purchase more goods. From a
macroenviroment standpoint, the general conditions of a market are heavily dependent on global
environmental factors. The most significant factor that influences the markets today is technological
advancements. Since the release of Facebook, Linked in, Twitter, and Myspace in the early 2000s, the
number of people using social media has increased to over sixty five percent. The ever growing
dependency on social media platforms, has given marketers the tremendous opportunity to further
market potential consumers. Social media marketing is a specific form of marketing that focuses on
producing ad content that social media users will post on their own networks. This particular
marketing technique is effective because ads and content are created, based on what personal
information users post on social media. Firms and organizations that advertise their brands on social
media are more likely to increase their customer base and annual revenue. By doing so, companies are
able to increase exposure of their brand and widen previous hidden, customer bases. As a marketer,
the fine line between right and wrong is often blurred. The amount and

The Company s Attrition Rate Essay
III. Staffing Strategy The company s attrition rate is steadily rising. Even with the higher attrition rate,
the marketing and sales teams continue to push sales in an expanding market. Due to higher demand,
the output needs to be heavily increased. All of these factors have lead Motors and More Inc. to look
into what their exact hiring needs are across the organization. Motors and More Inc. does not currently
have a HR department to assist with any of the hiring requirements, including planning, recruiting.
Having a recruiting team that can build a relationship with the technical school and community
college in the area will help draw qualified talent. It will also help to diversify the employee pool, by
reaching out to a growing population of Kurdish and Hispanic in the area. The department will also
help in the aid of having a career succession plan in place when attrition occurs for each level of
employee from entry level up through senior management. Core Competencies Research suggests that
some individuals may be 20 times more productive than others. Clearly, any CEO would welcome as
many of these individuals into an organization as could be mass produced. Matching individual
competencies with job competency models puts individuals in positions where they can contribute
most (Rothwell 2011). Since, Motors and More, Inc. is in need of increasing their output by 96%, this
would be greatly beneficial for the company. Core competencies help a company become

The Dust Bowl Of Tarrant County College
Tarrant County College has a traveling exhibit about the Dust Bowl that is sponsored by Ohio State
Library, American Library Association, Mount Holyoke, and the National Endowment for the
Humanities. This traveling exhibit is in a decent location, has a great display, and gives out a lot of
information about the Dust Bowl. This traveling exhibit about the Dust Bowl is located in the Tarrant
County College Southeast Campus library in Arlington, Texas. It is located off of Highway 360. The
exhibit is located in the library in the main building on the first floor. When one walks into the library
they would walk past the front desk as if they were going to the back of the library. After the front
desk they would pass the computers and behind the computers is where the exhibit is. The exhibit
about the Dust Bowl is in a good location because it is in the library where most students go daily. The
location can also be considered a bad location because it is not easily seen from the door and one has
to be looking for it to find it. The exhibit should be advertised to let more people know about it and
tell them what it is near in the library. The traveling exhibit about the Dust Bowl has twelve different
displays. Ten of the displays are set up in a circular formation with numbers on the bottom. On each of
these displays there are pictures and information on the front and back of them. All of the front side of
the displays are facing the inside of the circle and are numbered one

The Difference Between Secured and Unsecured Loans
INTRODUCTION Working capital loan funds provide your business the cash it needs to keep
growing until you can cover all operating expenses out of revenue. Without a working capital loan
most businesses are unable to generate enough revenue to stay afloat. These funds provide access to
cash which can be used to pay rent or mortgage payments, utilities, marketing expenses, inventory,
employees, etc. Obtaining capital through this method can be difficult for many businesses, so it is
essential to have good business credit scores established. Building solid business credit scores are the
key to obtaining substantial working capital loan funds that can be used to grow your business. Not all

In the film Malcolm X, his interpretation of submission to the will of God is shown in different ways,
after he converts to Sunni Islam. Malcolm develops the idea of being a Muslim and comes to contact
with Elijah Muhammad which he submits under. Later in the film, we see Malcolm s quest to
complete a hajj and how it has opened his mind to worship Allah under his idea. During the film,
Malcolm originally refuses Baine s teaching of becoming a Black Muslim, but later starts to develop
and support the views of Nation of Islam while he is in prison. After he gains reputation and gets out

Flq Manifesto
The FLQ manifesto is a political manifesto that sought to promote Quebecoi independence and the
rejection of Liberal party policy, which focused primarily on big business and private investment.
Released in what was one of Canada s most politically turbulent period, the document provides key
insights into the FLQ organization demands and to the broader discussion taking place in Quebec
society. The document was produced by the front de liberation du Quebec, a left wing organization
that advocated for separatist policies beginning in the early 1960 s. Politically energized in the inner

Similarities Between Love And Trance

was playing the role of Simon who had severe gabbling addiction and had himself in excessive
amounts of debt, partners with group of criminals to steal a valuable painting but is struck on the head
and tries to recollect his memory of where he put the painting from a hypno therapist. The movie itself
might seem confusing but throws you in a scenario and a plot that you must follow carefully as Simon
tries to remember where he put the painitng. The short story Two Kinds written by Amy Tan has
similar themes to the movie trance, which is a about June and her mother Suyuan come into conflict

painting, but is stuck as a guinie pig, as the criminals work with the hypno therapist to torture Simon s

time passes Simon builds a romantic relationship for his therapist Elizabeth, she helps Simon
reconstruct his memory but little does Simon know she is digging into his brain to take the painting
for herself. She constructs Simon s character into somewhat of a monster but a man that now has free
will and can desire his original dream to take control as Elizabeth confronts Simon of erasing his
memory of the love affair they shared before. Unlike The Trance, Two Kinds by Amy Tan is about a
daughter who goes through a journey of attitudes and throughout her journey develops a rebellious

her mother s life after she passes away. Suyuan (Mother), fled from the communist country of China
in 1949; leaving behind two twin girls she was forced to leave behind. Suyuan came to America to
rebuild her life and give her daughter June the one thing she did not have, opportunity. As the story

Similarities Between Inherit The Wind And Robert E. Lee
Henry Norris Russel once said Conflict between science and religion a dangerous foe . Throughout
history, people have argued about the origin of mankind and tried to explain the unexplainable through
religion. These different views have caused segregation and disputes over what s right and wrong.
Intolerance towards outcasts, and consequences of extreme fundamentalism are demonstrated in
Inherit the Wind written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The central focus of the play is the
trial of Bertram Cates, which debates the education of evolution. It reveals the importance of free
thought and the necessity for respect for views that differ from one s own. However, where there has
been a disagreement about views, conflict has sparked. It is not possible for two different views of
humankind s roots to exist side by side because non conformity can provoke conflict.

highlights how seriously he takes his beliefs, even if it means going against family. The effects of this
amplified because her father was the Reverend who preached a faith on the fear of God and
punishment of sinners. His use of faith as an excuse for his wrongful actions, and his excessive
fundamentalism amounts to him losing his own daughter, as demonstrated by the proverb He that
troubleth his own house...shall inherit the wind (67). To conclude, Rachel s non conformity with the
loathing views of the Hillsboro citizens for Cates, induce conflicts between her and her

The Ieee On Indoor Li Fi Systems
White Paper to the IEEE on Indoor Li Fi Systems
Matthew Fultz
ENGH 302
Due: 12/8/2016
Introduction
In 2011, Herald Haas gave a Ted talk on light fidelity (Li Fi) and demonstrated a functional Li Fi
system and spoke of the future of telecommunications (Haas, Harald). His lecture sparked a wave of
research on bidirectional Li Fi that has given renewed hope for the internet of things (IoT). Kevin
Ashton, an MIT graduate, first introduced the IoT when he gave a presentation on the goal in 1999
(Davenport, Thomas). Herald Haas, who is now owns a Li Fi company called pureLiFi, asserts that
every luminaire in a trafficked area will serve as an access point (AP) for user devices (UD)(Haas,
Harald). Since 2011, we have done a research on how to best implement Li Fi, but there is still much
research to be done. With the tight congestion in the RF spectrum, we are forced to look for other
wireless solutions. There are a few solutions, such as WiGig, but Li Fi has emerged as the fastest
means of bidirectionally wirelessly transmitting information. There are many advantages and many
drawbacks, but the more research we conduct, the closer we get to making Li Fi a widespread
technology.
The implementation of light fidelity (Li Fi) is the next step towards a world characterized by the
Internet of Things (IoT) because it will enable faster communication, release pressure off of the RF
spectrum, and increase network security. Li Fi, like WiFi,

Race And Race In Heart Of Darkness
Heart of Darkness is a text which was written during the apartheid era when white supremacy used to
colonise people of colour. It centres mostly around the protagonist Marlow who is on his journey to
Congo. Race is explained by (colin,2013), as a group of people who share similar physical
characteristics such as colour of skin and hair texture , who are considered as fitting in the same sort,
or the fact of belonging to such a group. Power can be explained as the ability to control other people.
In this essay I am going to discuss the relationship between race and power in Heart of Darkness.
Each individual has his/her own race. For example, in heart of darkness, there are Russians, Black
Africans and whites. Many people who fear the topic of race normally ignore the fact that there are
different races in life, instead they say there is only one race which is human race. Such topic are
mostly ignored yet they still have an impact in our daily life. Well, not every white supremacy used to
ignore the case of race even in the past. In (condrad 1902,3) white men see themselves as more
sophisticated and that they have urbanised minds and are educated. Whenever the race topic arises,
people of colour recall how bad they were treated because of their race. This ... Show more content on

1984 Winston Smith Character Analysis Essay
Character Analysis Winston Smith The dystopian novel, 1984 by George Orwell, describes a

idea revolt is futile. At crucial plots points Winston s defining characteristics lead to his downfall in
his society. One of Winston Smith s most defining characteristic is his spirit of individualism. His
individualism appears through his desire to keep a diary (1.1. 30). By writing down his thoughts he
can keep alive what he really thinks. Although Winston commits Thoughtrime, his need to preserve
his uniqueness overrides his fears as he continues to put his true thoughts down. Winston ends chapter

One of the goals when Cortes, Pizarro, and Columbus came to the Americas was to spread
Christianity. The Natives, on the other hand, resisted being converted which led to violence. The

when the Puritans arrived they also felt uneasy about the presence of the Natives, though the Natives
were not aggressive towards them. Once one of their people was killed by the natives, though it was
probably justified as that person was kidnapped Natives and was cruel to them, they used it as an
excuse to fight the Natives. Religion was also often used as an excuse to justify their actions. For
example, the Puritans also appealed to Bible to do this, with Psalms 2:8. They claimed that God had

so by claiming the Indians were taking what God had granted them and therefore, deserved eternal

Crime is defined as an act which is prohibited by criminal law. These criminal activities are prohibited
for the protection of society as a whole, or a section of society. Each country has its own series of

Individuals that had these features were considered to be a more primitive type of human being.
Among the features which Lombroso identified were the following: an over sized brain; squinting
eyes; prominent eye brows and a projecting jaw.
Lombroso believed that these primitive humans could not adjust socially or morally to civilised
society, could not distinguish right from wrong, had no remorse or guilt and therefore could not form
meaningful relationships. Lombroso determined, Some people are born with a strong, innate
predisposition to behave antisocially, (L Uomo Delinquente, Lombroso, 1876).
Evaluation of Lombroso s Theory
Lombroso made a major contribution to establishing the study of criminal behaviour and was
responsible for moving the study of criminology towards scientific research, indicating that biological
influences could affect criminality.
However Lombroso s experiments cannot be considered to be valid because he never compared his
criminal sample to a non criminal control group or took account of racial and ethical differences. He
recorded inaccurate measurements, which were not based on proper statistical techniques or an
accurate understanding of human physique. Also a large proportion of Lombroso s sample had

Each man is witnessed as he goes through his own maturation and personal times of struggle and
hardships. Some are focused on more than others, but each man has a story to tell, each a moral to

too afraid to help his fellow soldiers out. O?Brien writes that he then felt a deep hatred for Jorgenson

writes, ?I?d come to this war a quiet, thoughtful sort of person?, but after seven months in the bush I
realized that those high, civilized trappings had somehow been crushed under the weight of the simple
daily realities. I?d turned mean inside? (200). Here, O?Brien conveys to the reader that Vietnam had

Fossie realizes that Mary Anne, along with the six Green Berets, has gone off into the jungles the

Elizabeth Kubler-Ross Theory Of Grieving
The theory of grief and loss was developed by Elizabeth Kubler Ross (1969) to apply to people who
are grieving as well as those that are dying. Different people deal with grief differently but according
to Kubler Ross suggested that when people grieve they will go through these stages; denial, anger,
bargaining, depression and acceptance. Sometimes loss is expected and sometime it is a surprise to
people. The first stage; denial is about the person who is grieving will feel numb and shocked and
would not be willing to accept that their loved one has passed away or is terminally ill (Kubler Ross,
1969). This relates to Jason Martins who has lost his mother due to an illness. This theory was used to

Social workers can improve empowerment to a grieving person by ensuring that they have the support
that they need (Parkes, 1986/2007) this includes support from the community and neighbours as this
experience will offer the bereaved person encouragement to continue living their life. When service
users are grieving they are vulnerable therefore social workers should establish their professional
relationship with them using honesty and transparency (PCF domain 2 Values and Ethics) therefore,
the client does not identify their social worker as a personal friend. Social workers can prevent
oppression and discrimination by ensuring that anti oppressive and anti discriminatory policies are in
place (PCF domain 3 Diversity) and they should ensure that they are aware of the challenges that
service users face due to their emotional state and their identity.
The grief and loss theory has been criticised by Corr et al (1997) who stated that there is not real life
evidence to prove that people do go through the stages one (1) to stage five (5). Also the theory was
criticised for not acknowledging the limitations of the model, for example, people do not always go
through all the five (5) stages. Another criticism of the theory is that using the word stage to describe
the grieving process implies how inconsiderate it is as it forces the bereaved to internalise their
feelings waiting for that stage to pass which will affect their life in the long

Hobbits Use the Law of Attraction on Their Adventure...
Hobbits are peculiar creatures. They are short, barefooted, jolly folk who love to eat, sing, and be
merry. However, they have no use for adventures (Tolkien 12) and prefer not to involve themselves
with those that do. Bilbo Baggins, on the other hand, comes from a long line of rebellious hobbits,
who craved adventure. Despite his introvert life, Bilbo cannot avoid adventure when it tumbles into
his hobbit hole. The novel, The Hobbit, supplies a fictional account of the positive and negative
outcomes produced by fluctuating self esteem and the Law of Attraction throughout a young hobbits
adventure through Middle Earth. The Law of Attraction sounds as though it could be a complicated
scientific theory; however, the theory is quite simple: your thoughts become things (Byrne 25).
Whatever the mind focuses on, the universe attracts. For example, in The Hobbit, Thorin Co., the
group of dwarves that hire Bilbo Baggins, traveled far and wide and regularly grew short on food and
supplies. Hobbits and dwarves are known for having incredibly healthy appetites, therefore, days
without food was horrific. Unfortunately, days with little to no provisions were inevitable. However,
Thorin Co. set the majority of their thoughts on low rations. According to the Law of Attraction, it is
no surprise that the thoughts centered on low rations, eventually created a reality of low rations. Along
those same lines, if you are complaining, or you are agreeing with someone who is complaining,

receive. These individuals say that following the orders will assist in reducing the therapy rates and
will reduce the practice of excess therapy. On the opposing side, it has been expressed that cutting
therapy funds that the State of Texas provides has the potential to cause individuals within the
pediatric population to lose crucial therapy services. The planned cuts have the risk to jeopardize the
potential of our nation s young. The cuts also make many agency s that currently provide
occupational, physical and speech therapy vulnerable to closures and lay offs. The people that are
promoting the cuts to the Medicaid funding for providers that offer occupational, physical and speech
therapy feel that the reductions are necessary to curve tale the surplus practice of various agencies.

Mise En Scene Essay
Introduction of Mise en Scene
Mise en Scene are used in every aspects of filmmaking. The term refers to the overall look and feel of
a film. It is what the viewers sees, hears and experiences while watching a film. A film s Mise en
Scene subtly influences viewer s mood as they watch a film, much like decor, lighting, smells and
sounds can influence our emotional response to an actual place. In Film Art: An Introduction,
Bordwell (2001), explained that in Mise en Scene, realism can be achieved by giving the settings an
accurate and convincing look or letting actors express their emotions through performance as naturally
as possible. This paper will discuss and analyse the significance of Mise en Scene in Wong Kar Wai s

A major key element in the film comprises of settings. It is where the actions takes place and helps
viewers to understand where and when the film is set. Settings not only create mood, it has social,
psychological, emotional and cultural significance in which the film are able to portray. Settings used
in the film are very rarely just backgrounds to the characters dialogue. Viewers are often seen shots of
places, without any action taking place. They can be used to influence viewers by building certain
expectations and then the actions takes a different turn. Gibbs (2002) mention that, Mise en scene
therefore encompasses both what the audience can see and the way in which we are invited to see it .
For example, the scene where Mrs. Chan goes to get noodles where she is seen to be walking along a
dark alley down the stairs, gives viewers a certain expectation to emphasize the character s emotional
state. Viewers are also made to see Mr. Chow going down the same stairs as Mrs. Chan walks back up
without any conversation taking place. This tells viewers what they see suggesting the lost in their
daily routine of doing the same thing over and over again, going to work, getting noodles and
accepting the unfaithfulness of their spouses. It also gives viewers a sense of developing bond
between the two characters over

Effectiveness Of Placebo And Treatment
Aim of literature review
Many papers have been published to purpose the effectiveness of placebo on analgesia, with various
theories supporting the case. Although the literatures are in general agreement on placebo analgesia
there is some disagreement to the mechanism of pain relief. The various theories that will be looked at
are expectation activated opioid system, condition activated specific subsystems and doctor patient
relationship. The primary focus of the paper is neurobiological effect of placebo analgesia in which it
is key to remember that the neurobiological mechanisms occur in different physiological systems in
various medical conditions and in healthy volunteers (Finniss et al, 2010).

There are four lobes; frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe and temporal lobe. The brains structure
is divided because different parts of the brain have control over different parts and actions of the body.
The main role of the brain is to help maintenance and function of the whole body (Bear, Connors and

The nervous system of the body is the communication and control network it comprises of the central
nervous system (CNS), peripheral nervous system (PNS) and the autonomic nervous system
(ANS).The brain and the spinal cord comprise to form the CNS, this is the body s main control centre.
The PNS is a complex network of nerves branching across the whole body, 12 pairs of cranial nerves
originate from the brain and 31 pairs of spinal nerves originate from the spinal cord. These nerves
transmit information between the body and the brain via nerve impulses. The ANS shares nerve
structures with both the CNS and PNS, it functions automatically with no conscious awareness to
control the body s basic functions like heart rate. In the PNS there are two divisions; afferent and
efferent. The afferent division controls signals sent to the brain and the efferent division controls
message from the brain to the body. Sensory inputs travel via the afferent division to signal the brain
for processing, co ordination and interpretation. The brain makes a suitable decision to the signal sent

Stereotypes In Huck Finn
In the book, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, we see how the book can be used
educationally inside of the classroom and out. This book shows the prejudice that has existed
historically and provides a basis for understanding how such stereotypes can be overcome by
recognizing similarities instead of focusing on difference. Therefore, it is imperative that high school
students read, analyze, and discuss Huck Finn in school.
Huck Finn is in many ways a very racist writing. The book celebrates and promotes racial stereotypes
because racial slurs are used often and African Americans are portrayed as dumb and senseless. In this
book there are many racial stereotypes and slurs that are not appropriate in today s world. The book

The transformation that Huck goes through shows us that anyone can change and open his mind to
find compassion and understanding for people who seem different. Towards the end of the book, huck
got a better understanding of the african american culture, that the slaves have morals too. But before
that, Huck has a hard time understanding what is ok to do and what is not. A good example of this is
when, they got separated and Huck found the raft when Jim was asleep. Huck woke Jim up and asked
if he didn t know he was here the whole time. Jim finds out that what Huck is saying was completely
untrue. Jim gets mad, explains that all he was doing was getting worried, while all Huck is doing is
making fun of him. As The book goes on though, Huck starts having this sense of understanding, like
puzzle pieces coming together. This is showed when Huck decides to save Jim instead of ratting him
out (ch.31). This is when he finally realized that all of this stuff his family was telling him was not
good morals. Seeing Huck transition like this shows the similarities between all people and how we
can all get along. This has great academic purpose because students should learn about how to get
along with others. This is something that is important to learn in school because not everyone learns it
at home and school has so many

Divine Command Theory In Plato s Euthyphro
Divine Command Theory in Plato s Euthyphro
Divine Command Theory is the topic brought up in Euthyphro. The theory is stated by Euthyphro
which suggests that the definition of piety is dependent on if the gods favor it. What makes this theory
complicated to argue is the context in which it is in. Since more than one god is involved in the
theory,it is the reason the argument works so well. Plato s Euthyphro brings the Divine Command
Theory into play by setting up a situation were it can be discussed. Plato argues with another
character,Euthyphro, as to what piety is. The first argument used is pious because the gods like it .The
second argument Socrates used for Euthyphro was piety was because it is loved by all the gods . The

Socrates does not tell
Euthyphro exactly what he means,he lets him draw his own conclusions.
Contributing factors to the Divine Command Theory in Euthyphro are mostly around the grammatical
structure. Euthyphro throughout the entire dialog is trying to explain something to what seems to be
the best of his abilities but with the use of grammatical manipulations on the part of Plato,Plato also
uses Euthyphro s argument against himself by finding simple mistakes and loopholes in his speech.
Even though
Plato seemed to twist his words around doesn t mean he didn t make a valid argument.
Another thing that makes this argument work is the use of multiple gods instead of a single god. If a
single god said something then there is no divine command theory.
When looking at the argument, ethics and morals are set closely together. Morals are mostly based
around what a religion has told you what is right and wrong. But first one has to understand what is
pious and impious. The argument regarding the first definition is more complicated when discussing
Gods rather than one God. One god tells you what is right and what is wrong. There is no argument
against it. When

Unique In My Life
I like to observe people. I often make mistakes while doing it and then get myself into very

Shaped by the masses, shaped by languages, shaped by the stars. Once someone said to me: Chaos

interstellar gases and dust binding at freezing temperatures, and then a star emerges from the chaos. If
I could get one dollar for every time I have embarrassed myself, I would probably be living another
life accompanied by those very expensive dogs. But, if I could get one dollar for everytime that those
embarrassments have turned into beautiful disasters, I would only be able to buy a handful of things at
a dollar store. Those events are quite unique. Unique as in for that one day that my mother hit her head

Hate Crime In South Carolina
South Carolina s hands seem to be filled with a surplus of judgment and resentment for how things are
run in varying parts of the country; but yet neglect the issues that hit home. While South Carolina
legislation is busy worrying about letting murderers, rapists, and criminals through our borders, they
are blind to the murderers, rapists, and criminals in our own state. Two counties in South Carolina are
included in the top 30 dangerous areas in America along with holding the ranking of seventh in
America s most criminal state which has gradually climbed the rank since 2012. Causation for such a
high crime rate stems from an equally as terrifying statistic. Almost 19% of South Carolina citizens

That being said, South Carolina has 21 armed extremist hate groups which is a large number for such
a small state. South Carolina has had a long history of racism and violence, but it s unclear whether
hate crimes are more regular here than elsewhere. In recent years, the state doesn t seem to have had
an excessive share of the country s hate crimes, but that may be because of the limitations of hate
crime statistics and the inconsistency or so far as lack of hate crime legislation. The most recent crime
statistics assembled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation paint a similar picture. In 2016, agencies in
every state but Hawaii, and Washington, D.C., supported concrete verification of hate crime statistics
to the FBI s Uniform Crime Reporting program. South Carolina had 51 reported hate crimes, 33 of
them driven by racial partiality. That s 10.7 hate crimes per million 2016 residents which was the 34th
largest frequent occurrence in the company of the 49 states and D.C. and 6.9 prompted by racial bias,
which was 33rd highest. It s no secret, hate incites violence. So why can t South Carolina break
through this racist stigma and hateful stereotype that has been assigned to our state for generations?
The answer is presented in our education system. There is no government funded tolerance program
assigned to South Carolina schools in any way, shape, or form. There is no way to fuel our minds for
the future towards acceptance and celebration of diversity. In fact, teachers are ordered to keep their
tolerant opinions to themselves and let South Carolina s history shape young minds opinions of the
world. Anti diversity themes have become the so called norm and only carve a path for the repetition

The Breakfast Club Sociology
Screws fall out, the world is an imperfect place. The Breakfast Club. This quote captures the theme of
the movie of a flawed society in which cliques override human nature. The Breakfast Club is a
timeless movie as it shows a social hierarchy, human intuition, and the inevitable imperfections of life
that will always live on our world. The movie begins showing five social classes in detention for
different offences. Immediately the troublemaker begins his role by distinguishing the characteristics
of the others that group them into their social standing. He starts with the princess, pointing out how
she always gets what she wants, then the athlete for his boxing skills, the brain for his obvious
intelligence, and lastly the basket case for her strange behavior. In high schools of 2015 you can still
make out each of these social factions in this 1984 based high school. We can still distinguish the
princess with their designer wear that their guardians obviously paid for, the brains studying for the
test that s next week when everyone already knows they ll do exceptionally, the athletes who everyone

Gender Roles In Frederick Douglass
The endeavor to escape slavery was an idea that pondered in the minds of slaves. While slavery
influenced both genders emotionally, physically, and educationally, ultimately only the male gender
was able to comprehend what it would be like to be able to flee slavery. Men took charge and became
independent being able to leave slavery, whereas the women were more dependent as wives and
mothers, which caused them to not be able to getaway. Douglass and Jacobs works proved this to be
true as the reader sees their experiences as a slave fluctuate based on their gender. Through Douglass
encounters as a slave we see how important it is for a male to participate in physical labor and then
through Jacobs story, one is able to see how women were used mostly by their masters sexually. Once
Abolition started everyone thought it would better the lives of men and women, but boy were they
mistaken. In Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, the
authors vary in the way that the men are able to escape slavery easier than woman because of the
expectations of gender roles during the time and that is what shaped these two works. Throughout
Douglass narrative of his life, he is able to have this image that one day he will no longer be controlled
by a master and no longer be a slave and is something Linda in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl,
cannot ever see because her family is restricting her from this idea. Douglass has no parents or

1915 he along with family in tow, arrives in Bombay, India which is where the following scene takes

of the Indian people. Upon returning to India, the film depicts Gandhi taking on the English once
again with the backing of millions of Indian supporters seeking independence from Great Britain. This
done by once again forming a non violent protesting organization. From here the film goes on to show
violence brought to Gandhi s followers, supporters, and the non violent protestors by officials using

Natural Darkness Analysis
Natural darkness is something many people take for granted and do not consider worthwhile to think
about. However, the author of this passage, Paul Bogard, advocates to preserve natural darkness in Let
There Be Dark. Through his use of appealing to emotion, facts, and word choice, Bogard is able to
make an emotional plea to preserve darkness whilst also informing the reader of the many benefits
natural darkness has to offer as well.
Within the first paragraph Bogard has already established a connection he himself feels with natural
darkness. Through connected darkness with his memories in, At my family s cabin on a Minnesota
lake, I knew woods so dark that my hands disappeared before my eyes. I knew night skies in which
meteors left smoky trails across sugary spreads of stars, Bogard is able to invite the reader into
understanding why he is fighting for the preservation of natural darkness and the connection he has
with it. By allowing the reader this personal insight he is allowing for the reader themselves to connect
to the natural darkness the way he had as a child as well as promote the reader to think of their own
memories with darkness. By allowing this reminiscing, the author of the passage from the start allows
for the reader to get pulled into his argument and understand his thoughts. Later on, more appeals to
emotions are seen. Bogard begins to add other relatable material throughout the passage as well, such
as, In a world awash with electric light . . .

Raft Descriptive Writing
The white water crushes against the boat, almost as if it was waiting for us to make a wrong paddle
movement. The rapid we were going over was told to be considered a 5 and extremely dangerous. One
wrong move and you could get sucked under the rough water. High waves keep crashing against our
raft, keeping us constantly wet. On the bank of the river, rocks as tall as a small sky scraper tower over
us. There are eight of us in the raft, split up evenly along the sides of it. Our guide sits in the very back
with his single paddle, maneuvering the boat and watching out for hazards ahead. The raft we are in is
fairly old, but is still reliable. Gray patches are covering holes that were probably caused by hitting a
rock at a wrong angle. The boat is very sturdy and thick, but is extremely flexible in order to allow us
to easily pass over the different rapids. The boat maneuvers perfectly as if it were an amusement park
ride on a set track. The middle of the boat holds a box that contains various items such as extra gear
and a first aid kit in case of an emergency. The ride is rough and the boat is almost always jerking up
and down. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras
Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused people to
feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they offer both
audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and police accountable
for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to the usual testimony
based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides compelling evidence
of police misconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even prosecute officers (2017).
Dunn is valid in saying this because the footage when appropriately handled can be used within the
courtroom to help the judge, the public, and officers see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras, especially in
cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016). Although this may be true
in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is available for not only police but the
public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts their footage to YouTube so everyone can
see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman, 2017). Others believe body cameras should not
be worn because of possible mass incarceration issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture
footage used against defendants in criminal trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like
jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes, or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime,
justifying subsequent stops and searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops
could abuse cameras in such a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by
specific professionals and debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is
still highly considered. Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering
by police and will help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body
cameras will cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and
are statistically reported to assist police and the

The Positive Effects Of Advertising Effects On Women
Advertising Effects on Women Advertising has a huge effect on how women perceive their own
bodies, good or bad, but mostly bad. The media has been using models that are portrayed with the thin
ideal, the fetishization of thin bodied women, for so long and it has really taken a toll on women
viewers. This paper describes the many problems and ramifications that advertisements centered on
thin women has on people that view them. It seems like it would be commonsense to make an
advertisement effective so that people buy or view the product advertised, but that is not always the
case. An advertisement should have a positive impact on its viewers, not a negative one. Also, the
people in charge of making it should be creative but also to the point. It is important that advertisers
understand that the viewers reactions are going to determine whether the advertisement was
advantageous or not. Advertising women is a hit or miss because the women models are usually thin
and the problem is that the women viewers have a thin ideal in their minds and when they see the
advertisements, they compare themselves to the actor or model. It is important to notice the fact that
showing thin women on advertisements may be linked with women having self confidence issues and
that is not something that should be linked with advertisements that are made to gain viewers. In an
article about the role media has on women, it is stated that the media s consistent depiction of a thin
ideal leads women to see this ideal as normative, expected, and central to attractiveness (Grabe, Hyde,
Ward, 2008). This is a prime statement on why advertising effectiveness is such an issue when it
comes to this topic because women, or men in some cases, should not be watching television or
reading a magazine and come across someone that the viewer compares themselves to negatively.
Another article states that the argument against using larger models is that thinness sells, whereas
fatness does not (Dittmar Halliwell, 2004). This describes the reason that media shows thinner women
in the first place. Some think that thinner people are more appealing and therefore draws the viewers
in. A research was done to see if the size of the

This pyramid, in all practicality, acted as a tomb for the great Egyptian king Khafre. Though slowly
deteriorating, the Khafre Pyramid was originally finished with a sheath of polished limestone. This
limestone finish gave the pyramid a sense of elegance and beauty. Sadly today, only a small portion of
the finish is intact at the pinnacle of the pyramid; the rest has fallen victim to time. The measurements
of this pyramid is 140 meters high with a 216 meter square base. Its angle is about 52 degrees. This
mountain of masonry contained passageways and chambers filled with Egyptian treasures honoring
the dead king. Incidentally, there is a religious aspect to the Great Pyramid. In Egyptian religion, death
brought on immortality to the king; Egyptian pharaohs were revered as gods. According to Stokstad,
the immense monuments reflect not only the desire of a
[king] to attain immortality but also the strength of the
Egyptians belief that a deceased ruler continued to affect the well being of the state and his people
from beyond the grave.
It was believed by Egyptians that gods slept in the Great Pyramids. Once sealed, there was no way
into the pyramids; therefore, a perfect resting place for these gods. As for the labor force and time it
took to build the monument, the Greek historian, Herodotus, believed the pyramid was build by

The main objective of marketing is to identify trends and patterns in consumer behavior, and utilize the data to influence consumers to purchase more goods. From a macroenviroment standpoint, the general conditions of a market are heavily dependent on global environmental factors. The most significant factor that influences the markets today is technological advancements. Since the release of Facebook, Linked in, Twitter, and Myspace in the early 2000s, the number of people using social media has increased to over sixty five percent. The ever growing dependency on social media platforms, has given marketers the tremendous opportunity to further market potential consumers. All of these factors have lead Motors and More Inc. to look into what their exact hiring needs are across the organization. Motors and More Inc. does not currently have a HR department to assist with any of the hiring requirements, including planning, recruiting. Core Competencies Research suggests that some individuals may be 20 times more productive than others. • 10. Similarities Between Inherit The Wind And Robert E. Lee Henry Norris Russel once said Conflict between science and religion a dangerous foe . Throughout history, people have argued about the origin of mankind and tried to explain the unexplainable through religion. These different views have caused segregation and disputes over what s right and wrong. Intolerance towards outcasts, and consequences of extreme fundamentalism are demonstrated in Inherit the Wind written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The central focus of the play is the trial of Bertram Cates, which debates the education of evolution. It reveals the importance of free thought and the necessity for respect for views that differ from one s own. However, where there has been a disagreement about views, conflict has sparked. The effects of this amplified because her father was the Reverend who preached a faith on the fear of God and punishment of sinners. The Ieee On Indoor Li Fi Systems White Paper to the IEEE on Indoor Li Fi Systems Matthew Fultz ENGH 302 Due: 12/8/2016 Introduction In 2011, Herald Haas gave a Ted talk on light fidelity (Li Fi) and demonstrated a functional Li Fi system and spoke of the future of telecommunications (Haas, Harald). His lecture sparked a wave of research on bidirectional Li Fi that has given renewed hope for the internet of things (IoT). Kevin Ashton, an MIT graduate, first introduced the IoT when he gave a presentation on the goal in 1999 (Davenport, Thomas). Herald Haas, who is now owns a Li Fi company called pureLiFi, asserts that every luminaire in a trafficked area will serve as an access point (AP) for user devices (UD)(Haas, Harald). Since 2011, we have done a research on how to best implement Li Fi, but there is still much research to be done. With the tight congestion in the RF spectrum, we are forced to look for other wireless solutions. There are a few solutions, such as WiGig, but Li Fi has emerged as the fastest means of bidirectionally wirelessly transmitting information. There are many advantages and many drawbacks, but the more research we conduct, the closer we get to making Li Fi a widespread technology. The implementation of light fidelity (Li Fi) is the next step towards a world characterized by the Internet of Things (IoT) because it will enable faster communication, release pressure off of the RF spectrum, and increase network security. Race is explained by (colin,2013), as a group of people who share similar physical characteristics such as colour of skin and hair texture , who are considered as fitting in the same sort, or the fact of belonging to such a group. Power can be explained as the ability to control other people. In this essay I am going to discuss the relationship between race and power in Heart of Darkness. Each individual has his/her own race. Sometimes loss is expected and sometime it is a surprise to people. The first stage; denial is about the person who is grieving will feel numb and shocked and would not be willing to accept that their loved one has passed away or is terminally ill (Kubler Ross, 1969). When service users are grieving they are vulnerable therefore social workers should establish their professional relationship with them using honesty and transparency (PCF domain 2 Values and Ethics) therefore, the client does not identify their social worker as a personal friend. Social workers can prevent oppression and discrimination by ensuring that anti oppressive and anti discriminatory policies are in place (PCF domain 3 Diversity) and they should ensure that they are aware of the challenges that service users face due to their emotional state and their identity. The grief and loss theory has been criticised by Corr et al (1997) who stated that there is not real life evidence to prove that people do go through the stages one (1) to stage five (5). Also the theory was criticised for not acknowledging the limitations of the model, for example, people do not always go through all the five (5) stages. However, they have no use for adventures (Tolkien 12) and prefer not to involve themselves with those that do. Bilbo Baggins, on the other hand, comes from a long line of rebellious hobbits, who craved adventure. Despite his introvert life, Bilbo cannot avoid adventure when it tumbles into his hobbit hole. The novel, The Hobbit, supplies a fictional account of the positive and negative outcomes produced by fluctuating self esteem and the Law of Attraction throughout a young hobbits adventure through Middle Earth. The Law of Attraction sounds as though it could be a complicated scientific theory; however, the theory is quite simple: your thoughts become things (Byrne 25). Whatever the mind focuses on, the universe attracts. For example, in The Hobbit, Thorin Co., the group of dwarves that hire Bilbo Baggins, traveled far and wide and regularly grew short on food and supplies. Hobbits and dwarves are known for having incredibly healthy appetites, therefore, days without food was horrific. Unfortunately, days with little to no provisions were inevitable. However, Thorin Co. set the majority of their thoughts on low rations. Since more than one god is involved in the theory,it is the reason the argument works so well. Plato s Euthyphro brings the Divine Command Theory into play by setting up a situation were it can be discussed. Plato argues with another character,Euthyphro, as to what piety is. That s 10.7 hate crimes per million 2016 residents which was the 34th largest frequent occurrence in the company of the 49 states and D.C. and 6.9 prompted by racial bias, which was 33rd highest. It s no secret, hate incites violence. So why can t South Carolina break through this racist stigma and hateful stereotype that has been assigned to our state for generations? The answer is presented in our education system. There is no government funded tolerance program assigned to South Carolina schools in any way, shape, or form. There is no way to fuel our minds for the future towards acceptance and celebration of diversity. In fact, teachers are ordered to keep their tolerant opinions to themselves and let South Carolina s history shape young minds opinions of the world. Anti diversity themes have become the so called norm and only carve a path for the repetition of history, specifically our history, and violence will only strengthen it s grip on our state if hearts aren t given the time to ... • 30. The Breakfast Club Sociology Screws fall out, the world is an imperfect place. The Breakfast Club. This quote captures the theme of the movie of a flawed society in which cliques override human nature. The Breakfast Club is a timeless movie as it shows a social hierarchy, human intuition, and the inevitable imperfections of life that will always live on our world. The movie begins showing five social classes in detention for different offences. Immediately the troublemaker begins his role by distinguishing the characteristics of the others that group them into their social standing. He starts with the princess, pointing out how she always gets what she wants, then the athlete for his boxing skills, the brain for his obvious intelligence, and lastly the basket case for her strange behavior. In high schools of 2015 you can still make out each of these social factions in this 1984 based high school. We can still distinguish the princess with their designer wear that their guardians obviously paid for, the brains studying for the test that s next week when everyone already knows they ll do exceptionally, the athletes who everyone can catch working out at every chance possible, the basket case ... • 31. Gender Roles In Frederick Douglass The endeavor to escape slavery was an idea that pondered in the minds of slaves. While slavery influenced both genders emotionally, physically, and educationally, ultimately only the male gender was able to comprehend what it would be like to be able to flee slavery. Men took charge and became independent being able to leave slavery, whereas the women were more dependent as wives and mothers, which caused them to not be able to getaway. Douglass and Jacobs works proved this to be true as the reader sees their experiences as a slave fluctuate based on their gender. Through Douglass encounters as a slave we see how important it is for a male to participate in physical labor and then through Jacobs story, one is able to see how women were used mostly by their masters sexually. Once Abolition started everyone thought it would better the lives of men and women, but boy were they mistaken. In Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, the authors vary in the way that the men are able to escape slavery easier than woman because of the expectations of gender roles during the time and that is what shaped these two works. Throughout Douglass narrative of his life, he is able to have this image that one day he will no longer be controlled by a master and no longer be a slave and is something Linda in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, cannot ever see because her family is restricting her from this idea. Douglass has no parents or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Natural Darkness Analysis Natural darkness is something many people take for granted and do not consider worthwhile to think about. However, the author of this passage, Paul Bogard, advocates to preserve natural darkness in Let There Be Dark. Through his use of appealing to emotion, facts, and word choice, Bogard is able to make an emotional plea to preserve darkness whilst also informing the reader of the many benefits natural darkness has to offer as well. Within the first paragraph Bogard has already established a connection he himself feels with natural darkness. Through connected darkness with his memories in, At my family s cabin on a Minnesota lake, I knew woods so dark that my hands disappeared before my eyes. I knew night skies in which meteors left smoky trails across sugary spreads of stars, Bogard is able to invite the reader into understanding why he is fighting for the preservation of natural darkness and the connection he has with it. By allowing the reader this personal insight he is allowing for the reader themselves to connect to the natural darkness the way he had as a child as well as promote the reader to think of their own memories with darkness. By allowing this reminiscing, the author of the passage from the start allows for the reader to get pulled into his argument and understand his thoughts. Later on, more appeals to emotions are seen. Bogard begins to add other relatable material throughout the passage as well, such as, In a world awash with electric light . . . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rapid we were going over was told to be considered a 5 and extremely dangerous. One wrong move and you could get sucked under the rough water. High waves keep crashing against our raft, keeping us constantly wet. On the bank of the river, rocks as tall as a small sky scraper tower over us. There are eight of us in the raft, split up evenly along the sides of it. Our guide sits in the very back with his single paddle, maneuvering the boat and watching out for hazards ahead. The raft we are in is fairly old, but is still reliable. Gray patches are covering holes that were probably caused by hitting a rock at a wrong angle. The boat is very sturdy and thick, but is extremely flexible in order to allow us to easily pass over the different rapids. The boat maneuvers perfectly as if it were an amusement park ride on a set track. The middle of the boat holds a box that contains various items such as extra gear and a first aid kit in case of an emergency. The ride is rough and the boat is almost always jerking up and down. ... • 35. Argumentative Essay On Body Cameras Over the past few years, there have been many tragedies involving police which have caused people to feel unsafe and weary. Body cameras are a great way to combat this issue because they offer both audible and visual evidence of misconduct. This can be used to keep the public and police accountable for their actions while maintaining an evidenced based argument compared to the usual testimony based argument. In a Washington Post article by Dunn, he said: Video provides compelling evidence of police misconduct and can be used to train, discipline, fire and even prosecute officers (2017). Dunn is valid in saying this because the footage when appropriately handled can be used within the courtroom to help the judge, the public, and officers see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, there s no guarantee that the public will ever see footage from police body cameras, especially in cases where it may be helpful to defendants or civil litigants (Buttar, 2016). Although this may be true in some cases, laws are being made to ensure that the footage is available for not only police but the public. For example, a police department in Seattle posts their footage to YouTube so everyone can see what their police have recorded (Dunn Lieberman, 2017). Others believe body cameras should not be worn because of possible mass incarceration issues amongst the public. Cameras could capture footage used against defendants in criminal trials either where the footage depicts criminal acts, like jaywalking or selling loose cigarettes, or where it merely supports suspicion of potential crime, justifying subsequent stops and searches that would otherwise be illegal (Buttar, 2016). Some cops could abuse cameras in such a way; however, the footage collected is currently reviewed only by specific professionals and debates over sending footage directly to specialized agencies for review is still highly considered. Sending the footage to these special facilities leaves little room for tampering by police and will help ensure the authenticity of the footage. Although many may believe those body cameras will cause more harm than help to the community, body cameras are still highly useful and are statistically reported to assist police and the ... • 36. The Positive Effects Of Advertising Effects On Women Advertising Effects on Women Advertising has a huge effect on how women perceive their own bodies, good or bad, but mostly bad. The media has been using models that are portrayed with the thin ideal, the fetishization of thin bodied women, for so long and it has really taken a toll on women viewers. This paper describes the many problems and ramifications that advertisements centered on thin women has on people that view them. It seems like it would be commonsense to make an advertisement effective so that people buy or view the product advertised, but that is not always the case. An advertisement should have a positive impact on its viewers, not a negative one. Also, the people in charge of making it should be creative but also to the point. It is important that advertisers understand that the viewers reactions are going to determine whether the advertisement was advantageous or not. Advertising women is a hit or miss because the women models are usually thin and the problem is that the women viewers have a thin ideal in their minds and when they see the advertisements, they compare themselves to the actor or model. It is important to notice the fact that showing thin women on advertisements may be linked with women having self confidence issues and that is not something that should be linked with advertisements that are made to gain viewers. In an article about the role media has on women, it is stated that the media s consistent depiction of a thin ideal leads women to see this ideal as normative, expected, and central to attractiveness (Grabe, Hyde, Ward, 2008). This is a prime statement on why advertising effectiveness is such an issue when it comes to this topic because women, or men in some cases, should not be watching television or reading a magazine and come across someone that the viewer compares themselves to negatively. Another article states that the argument against using larger models is that thinness sells, whereas fatness does not (Dittmar Halliwell, 2004). This describes the reason that media shows thinner women in the first place. Some think that thinner people are more appealing and therefore draws the viewers in. Though slowly deteriorating, the Khafre Pyramid was originally finished with a sheath of polished limestone. This limestone finish gave the pyramid a sense of elegance and beauty. Sadly today, only a small portion of the finish is intact at the pinnacle of the pyramid; the rest has fallen victim to time. The measurements of this pyramid is 140 meters high with a 216 meter square base. Its angle is about 52 degrees. This mountain of masonry contained passageways and chambers filled with Egyptian treasures honoring the dead king. Incidentally, there is a religious aspect to the Great Pyramid. In Egyptian religion, death brought on immortality to the king; Egyptian pharaohs were revered as gods. According to Stokstad, the immense monuments reflect not only the desire of a [king] to attain immortality but also the strength of the Egyptians belief that a deceased ruler continued to affect the well being of the state and his people from beyond the grave. It was believed by Egyptians that gods slept in the Great Pyramids. Once sealed, there was no way into the pyramids; therefore, a perfect resting place for these gods.
