Book Report On Eric Ross
Today I was finally granted a day off from work. The first place I knew I would head, after sleeping
in, would be to the coffee house down on 1st Avenue. The leaves were just starting to fall outside.
Soon winter would be here.
The smell of fresh brewed coffee invaded my nose as I stepped inside the door. I walked up to the
counter and viewed the numerous amount of tasty treats they had on display today. I ordered a double
chocolate muffin with a caramel latte and then sat down on my most loved couch with my sketchbook
and pencils.
This couch had a lot of memories. Memories of me planning the kill and over analyzing every aspect
of it to the memories of me and him cuddling on this couch to a cup of coffee and a good book.
Eric Ross was in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I decided I would do a little research on him.
How could I be so oblivious? The signs were all there, and I was so blind to them. I overwhelmed
with the feeling of being used and manipulated. He was the man of my dreams till now.
A tear trickled down my cheek as I read the article on some of his history. It wasn t a tear of complete
sadness. This tear was a mixture of anger, sorrow and desperation.
Little did I know, he had been married for three years to the woman who gave birth to his child 12
years prior.
After more digging, I came across an article about his wife. A year after they got married, they found
her dead in the bathroom of his million dollar mansion. She had committed suicide by slitting her
veins open on her wrists. She had left a note expressing her feelings about him straying the path from
their marriage.
So he isn t cheating now, but he has before. Why is it such a big deal now that he can t introduce me to
his family? Maybe even just his daughter?
It was time for Eric and I to have a chat about what was going on between us. So I decided that the
next day I would pay him a visit.
*************
I made sure I had on my most form fitting outfit that would accentuate my curves. He ll be putty in my
hands. On my way to work I started running through ways I was going to bring it up. Maybe by just
asking him about past relationships would be the best way? Or what he thought about kids someday?

Hook Up Culture
Welcome to termination of courtship, where group gatherings, texts and casual drinks have shanked
traditional romance and left it dying a painful and prolonged death. Traditional dating has been taken
off life support and officially pronounced dead. Dating seems to have fallen away officially meaning
nothing more than hanging out. In this modern day and age people can not really say We re dating. as
casually as they used to. People now have to go through many phases to fully ensure that the two
people are ready to date. There is now a hook up culture. Dating is now a thing of the past and
hooking up is the new present. Dating is complicated by ambiguous language: just talking, hooking
up, friends with benefits, and open relationships. These words are all used to evade the dreaded
concept of commitment. These semi relationships assuage the pressure of a real relationship by
allowing both parties to leave their options open. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course women aren t immune to the changes. Women leave a lot less to the imagination than their
mothers or grandmothers ever did. Going on dates used to be a big deal. If a guy wanted to take a girl
out on a date, it meant he was genuinely interested. He would meet her parents and get her home at a
certain time if necessary. He d jump through hoops. Dating often lead to relationships which were
followed by marriage, babies and a white picket

Are Children Growing Up Too fast Essay
ESSAY ARE CHILDREN GROWING UP TOO FAST? I. SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION A
multiplicity of literature is available through recent researches which suggest that the current
generation of teenagers is very different from children their ages in the past, given new manifestations
in their behaviors when compared with their previous generations. Is this true or not? A compelling
argument will be made by this Author to show that in his perception that children are growing up too

My own experiences having raised three children, two girls and a boy have shown that access by them
to technology such as the computer, other technological devices and access to the internet and
television programming have contributed to aspects of their own self development which were not
available to their predecessors and in my own considered judgment, based on these developments
allow for a level of maturity beyond their young ages. Given the observations on growing p too fast,
as discussed above and inclusive of research and findings by Hymowitz (1998) which articulated on
trends observed n the society in which his daughter grew up, supporting discussions by the Sunday
Sun ( 2011); Hughes (2009); Wilson ( 2008) and my own experiences in observing the phenomena of
children maturing at an earlier age than their predecessors, I submit and support the thesis statement
that children are growing up much faster currently than their predecessors based on the evidence
provided in the discussion which support such conclusions. III. SECTION 3 CONCLUSION The
phenomena of young children developing a more matured status as opposed to their predecessors have
been noted by a number of researchers. This development have been attributed to a number of factors
related to technology, exposure to activities through various technological means which enhance their
own education and even the attitude by parents, which allow for a more matured

Antisemitism The Holocaust
The Holocaust started because of ingrained antisemitism both in Germany and the countries it
conquered, compounded by propaganda and the encouragement and leadership of political leaders. It
also started because the passive and active perpetrators held deep animosity towards the Jewish people
ingrained by almost 2000 years of antisemitism in Christian teachings‚ which made them receptive to
the message of the Nazis, and which made the idea of eliminating and exterminating Jews reasonable
and indeed desirable.
The Holocaust was undertaken by Adolph Hitler to extinguish an entire race, the Jewish People.
Similarly, for the past five years, four million Syrian refugees have been displaced and in need of new
residential areas while more than 11.6 million people have been affected by the civil war in Syria.
Like in the Holocaust, the Roma, physically and mentally disabled, communists and homosexuals
were targeted; not just the Jewish population. Both events demonstrate the inhumanity of our times

Prior to his upbringing and continuing, anti Semitism propaganda was abundant in production.
Nonetheless, Hitler established a Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda headed by
Joseph Goebbels. The Ministry s aim was to ensure the Nazi s anti semitic message was successfully
spread through any mode of communication. The propaganda reignited the resentment and underlying
hatred inside every German through the exploitation of anti semetic myths entrenched in the European
culture for generations. Propaganda also encouraged passivity and acceptance of the impending
measures against Jews, as these appeared to depict the Nazi government restoring

Harriet Jacobs Essay
My master had power and low on his side; I had determined will. There is might in
each a statement from Harriet Ann Jacobs reflecting her will to overcome the standards of
society (97). Harriet Jacobs life revolved around slavery from birth to death. Jacobs was a
mother of two with determination and insight to make choices to change the way of life for
her children. Harriet Jacobs was the first African American women to have her slave narrative
published retelling her life story exposing the years she spent escaping slavery and the latter
helping others escape (Andrews 2). The African American race experienced much intolerance,
especially the women, but Harriet fought back and never gave up.
Harriet, born in the fall of 1813 in North Carolina, spent all of her early life in slave
hood. She did not fully realize that she was a slave until she was six and her first owner, Margret
Horniblow, passed away and she was given to her niece Mary Matilda Norcom (Jacobs 11). This
was when her true struggle began because Mary was not old enough to own Harriet so Mary s
father Dr. James Norcom became Harriet s de facto master. Dr. Norcom sexually abused Harriet
and this information remained secret until much later in Harriet s life (Andrews 1). Harriet had
two children, a boy named Joseph and a girl named Louisa, by a white attorney named Samuel
Tredwell Sawyer (Smith 144). When Harriet was twenty she could no longer take the abuse from

Brigade Communication Strategy
After having vision and strategy, clearly communicating the vision throughout my brigade is the next
important step. At every chance I have, I will consistently and repeatedly emphasize the necessity of
change, how my vision looks like, the way to achieve this vision, and how the change benefits
members of my brigade. I will compare this vision to another picture of the brigade if change is not
carried on by them, so the members understand, and with me strengthen and build our organization.
The fifth step of the process is empowering broad based action. The previous four steps help me build
the determination among my brigade. The fifth step is to establishing decentralized control, training,
listening, resourcing to support the changes, and implementing solutions to problems based on trust
and commitment. I will empower, encourage leaders in my brigade to use their strength and
proficiency to achieve the team and their individual goals. On the other hand, throughout
communicating, I will identify the organizational structure barriers that hinder the performance
effectiveness and try to eliminate them. The stage six of the Kotter s model is generating short term
wins. If I see the change in my organization, I will provide visible rewarding to the success. The

Playing professional football in the National Football League can be an extremely violent and
dangerous profession. Every play, physically gifted and skilled athletes collide during practices and

preventative treatment for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) which is a neurodegenerative
brain disease caused by repeated impacts to the skull , which the blockbuster movie Concussion is

marijuana can effectively prevent CTE in NFL players, it will make the game considerably more safe
for the athletes. Players prefer marijuana over painkillers because marijuana is not addictive and will
not have the same effect opioid painkillers will have when their careers are over. Former NFL player
Nate Johnson stated to CBS news reporter Barry Petersen, Pain is constant when you play professional
football for a living, it s daily pain (News). He said he medicated with marijuana rather than

Disadvantages Of Hemostatic Dressings
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
According to World Health Organisation (WHO), on an average, motor vehicle crashes have killed
about 1.25 million people every year and also it has been observed that 90% of the world s fatalities
on the roads occur in low income and middle income countries. India accounts for about 10% of road
crash fatalities worldwide [45]. The control of hemorrhage (massive bleeding) is a critical step in first
aid and field trauma care. This control is essentially done by applying pressure, elevation of bleeding
site, usage of elastic field dressings, tourniquets and novel haemostatic dressings [29]. Among these
methods, hemostatic dressings are used as last alternative, but it is the resourceful system of all. In this
report, various forms of hemostatic materials and the products available in the market are reviewed.

Arguments About The Abortion Controversy
There is probably still last one thing in the world which racism might be acceptable or very least
tolerated and it s comedy.
Think about the following two jokes:
1) Why aren t Jews concerned about the abortion controversy? Because they don t consider a fetus
viable until after it graduates from medical school.
2) Why is there no Mexican Olympics? Because everyone who can run, jump, or swim is already
across the border.
Do you find these two jokes funny, or do you think it is not ethical? Controversies about ethics of

cantilever can be erected during the football season. This share of the roof was erected in modules
containing a rafter, the backup mast, the 14m long back stay and the linking inner forestay. The top of
the mast is 12m overhead the new rooftop level and 37m overhead ground level. It is formed with

Directly after the last home match of the season, the current roof and columns were removed which

The story initially takes place at Jardins Publiques where Miss Brill goes every Sunday, as stated by
the narrator: ...the blue sky powdered with gold and great spots of light like white wine splashed over
the Jardins Publiques (862). Jardins Publiques...ermine toque and ma petite chérie are also mentioned
and represent Mansfield s continuous use of French throughout the story, which alludes to the location
of the park being located somewhere in France (862 865). The setting of time being during the 1920s
supports Miss Brill s unease through the way it represents a period of nervousness caused by the two

a chill from a glass of iced water before you sip, and now and again a leaf came drifting from

reference made by the narrator regarding Miss Brill s house also alludes to a different setting, as
shown when she says, she passed the baker s by, climbed the stairs, went into the little dark room her
room like a cupboard (865). Mansfield s contrast in settings is important because it represents Miss
Brill s realization of reality. Thurber and Mansfield both create a contrast between reality and the

popular sites have grown by approximately 300% over the last year and are currently valued at over

Since the actions of the major online gambling sites promote, and will continue to promote, usage by
individuals in states that outlaw online gambling, the sites should be illegal on the federal level since
they violated the UIGEA.
In states where DFS are currently legal DFS sites operate within the confines of the existing laws, and
they should be considered completely legal under the current law. Most states currently permit DFS,
as they are not seen as predominantly games of chance (Huffman, 2014). Miller Singer present the
widely cited statistic that 91 percent of all DFS profits are won by just 1.3% of players (2015). This
statistic shows that there has to be some talent involved in DFS for a few individual to collect the
majority of the profits. If DFS was entirely based off of chance the profits would be distributed in a
random manner. Since the UIGEA explicitly permitting fantasy sports that are (1) for a value not
dependent by the amount of participants or fees, (2) not dependent on the outcome of any real world
games, and (3) determined by the skill of the participants DFS are legal federally (Huffman, 2014).
Additionally, the determination of the skill component is entirely left up to the individual states to
decide what constitutes a game of chance and what constitutes a game of skill (Huffman, 2014). Most
states use the predominant purpose test to determine whether to classify a game as a game of chance

Factors Influencing The Adoption Behavior Of Coffee Producers
Selected explanatory variables
A micro level approach was used in order to test which factors influence the adoption behavior of
coffee producers with regard to SMPs. The model incorporates farm and management characteristics,
the socioeconomic profile of producers and social capital indicators. Table 1 presents the descriptive
statistics of the data collected.
Several factors that were considered are accepted as common predictors of adoption in developing
countries. However, three questions related to explanatory variables were not included in the final
questionnaire. Firstly, we did not take into account access to bank loans since coffee farmers in
Mexico are mostly unable to obtain investment credit from lending institutions. Producers usually
have the option of obtaining short term financing (cash advances) either from local traders or from
coffee cooperatives for those who are members. However, the availability of long term credit has
virtually disappeared making it difficult for producers to defer the costs of implementing new
practices over several years (AMECAFE, 2009).
Secondly, tenure arrangements were not considered since households in the sampled area are governed
by a communal land resources committee, an institution independent of the municipality. Under this
system, producers hold usufruct rights to their coffee parcels. While a 1991 amendment to the
Mexican constitution made the privatization of communal lands (ejidos) possible it remains the
dominant type

Examples Of Existentialism In The Goldfinch
The Goldfinch is mostly a work on existentialism. The main character, Theo Decker, is taken from his
happy life in New York with his mother, to his destructive life in Las Vegas with his father. After his
mother died his life starts his destructive path down mostly existentialism. For the most part the book
is a work of existentialism, except for a few key details for existentialism. People are not based on pre
judged thing out of the characters control. A prime example of this is when Boris started to date a girl
he meet, Theo makes a lot of comments showing his dislike for her.
One of the details that is the book s best example of existentialism is, Life is Random . Theo s life is
random right from the moment he nearly misses getting killed at the museum. His mother gets killed,
his father takes him in, he meets boris who is his bad influence, and his father only cares about money;
just some of the random things in his life. A quote from Theo best explains his thoughts on his random
life, no one will ever, ever be able to persuade me that life is some awesome, rewarding treat.

Alexander IIi Of King Of Ancient Greece
Alexander III of Macedon or commonly known as Alexander the Great was a King of Ancient Greek
kingdom Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty. He spent most of his ruling years on an
extraordinary military campaign through Asia and northeast Africa and by the time he was 30 he had
created one of the largest empires of the Ancient world, stretching from Greece to Egypt and into
northwest India. Alexander is thought to be by most people as the greatest military command that ever
lived however this wasn t always the case. Many historians argue that Alexander was in fact the
opposite to what he perceived to be. This essay will essentially focus on the good and bad side of
Alexander s campaigns and through the study of various sources we will be able to determined the real
truth behind his leadership. The Persians and the Greeks had been at conflict for hundreds of years
before the time of Alexander. Ancient accounts say that Alexander was at war with both Persia and
their King Darius III and used the Persian Invasion of Greece in 5th century BC as an excuse for his
actions. Many of Alexanders greatest battles were fought against the Persians and is where the
ambitious young king began to conquer the known world. The first major battle that he won was the
Battle of the Granicus in 334 BC where he defeated a said 20,000 Persian horsemen and an equal
number of foot soldiers by Arrian. This was soon followed by another victory at the Battle of Isus in
333 BC led by their King

Carlos Saúl Menem, the son of Syrian immigrants, became Argentina s first Muslim president in 1989.
He had had to convert to Catholicism earlier, though, because, until 1994, the law stated all presidents
of Argentina had to be Roman Catholic. His Syrian ancestry earned him the nickname El Turco (The
Turk). Many gauchos, or Argentine cowboys, were of Jewish origin. The first recorded instance of
mass Jewish immigration to Argentina was in the late 19th century, when 800 Russian Jews arrived in
Buenos Aires after fleeing persecution from Czar Alexander III. The Jewish Colonization Association
began distributing 100 hectare parcels of land to immigrant families. Argentina s workforce is 40%
female, and women also hold over 30% of Argentina s congressional seats. At its mouth, Argentina s
Rio de la Plata is an amazing 124 miles (200 km) wide, making it the widest river in the world,

The Yellow Wallpaper, By Charlotte Perkins Gilman And A...
Unaccustomed The short stories, The Yellow Wallpaper, written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and A
Rose for Emily, written by William Faulkner, have a lot in common regarding the main characters.
Each narrative focuses on the lifestyle and behavior of a bizarre woman who has been kept away for a
certain period of time. One could argue that these women were not initially deranged, though
something must have occurred to send them on such a downward spiral. The main characters in each
account, Jane and Miss Emily, endure situations in their lives which prove to be crucial in the
development of their mental illness, and being isolated gradually causes their illness to escalate. Jane
and Miss Emily both face a monumental change in their lives, which results in the conclusion that
mental illness is the cause of their strange behavior. The women face profoundly different
catastrophes; however, each occurrence involves their families. In Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The
Yellow Wallpaper, during an exchange between John and Jane, John explains, I beg of you, for my
sake and for our child s sake, as well as for your own, that you will never for one instant let that idea
enter your mind! (Gilman 137). Jane gives birth to a little baby boy, which is when her life takes a turn
for the worse. Jane begins showing unusual, if not utterly insane, behavior, as well as depression and
anxiety, which is a result of her post partum depression. In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily, he

Franchising Benefits And Strategies Of Franchising
Franchising It is said that today there is a total of 750,000 franchise establishments within the U.S.
itself. Franchising is a long term agreement between two parties, and is when the franchisor grants the
franchisee the right to use a trademark or trade name in a business process. In a franchise agreement
the franchisee would in most cases purchase or lease the trademark or logo from the franchisor. Within
this transaction the franchisee also pays its franchisor sales revenue or royalty fees. In return, the
franchisee receives detailed and structured tactics, describing the process of how the business is run.
These tactics include promotion, hiring and training employees, upgrading product or service, as well
as maintaining design or décor (What is Franchising).
It is common for people to think of franchising as an industry, and although it can be considered to be
an industry, it can also be seen as a business model . Dr. Vinay Garg, a professor at Missouri State
University took time researching franchising benefits and strategies. Garg has studied and surveyed
over 1000 franchise businesses. He found that franchising could be a great opportunity for any
individual to become an entrepreneur by starting his or her own business. Since franchisors such as
McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts is well known to the public, the franchisee will find it less difficult to
bring in customers (Mostyn).

Artificial Selection And Its Effects On Our Health
It would probably surprise most people to learn that broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, and kohlrabi
all hail from wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea), due to a process called artificial selection. Over
thousands of years humanity has manipulated plants and animals using artificial selection. However,
we now have a different process called genetic engineering, which opens new doors to countless
applications such as, genetically modifying plants to become cold, resistant. Traditionally we would
have to rely on artificial selection, but now we can manipulate the genetic material of organisms.
However, with new technology comes an issue of environmental impact. The very same organisms
that we create can become exceedingly detrimental to the environment it s ecosystems. Concerns on
the effects of these organisms on our health are justified as they can be a benefit or detriment. To
better appreciate genetic engineering, we first must explore artificial selection and its history. Artificial
selection is the process in which humans breed organisms based on physical traits they want to further
enhanced or eliminate, in a way artificial selection relies heavy on the phenotype of the organism.
Which is the physical trait expressed by genes. An example would be the domestication of the dog.
Around 15,000 to 16,000 years ago, we began to breed wolves and actively select for tameness. Li et
al. (2013), found this rapid evolution was probably driven by artificial selection during the

The journal chosen for this assignment, International Journal of Education and Bilingualism discusses
the aspect of how one feels while conversing in a different language. The aim of the journal article
chosen, What has personality and emotional intelligence to do with feeling different while using a
foreign language? was to find a link, between the individual s personality, emotional intelligence and
feelings while talking in the foreign language. In order to test this, two sets of people were chosen

The participants chosen for the study, however, comprised of 102 individuals with a larger majority of
females as opposed to males. The age range had been set between the ranges of 17 to 58 years with
varying degrees of educational achievements.
The results that were obtained indicated that extraversion (a first order trait) had played a key role in
identifying when an individual felt different while they were speaking in another language. Where as,
the other first order traits like language proficiency, age and gender were irrelevant. Furthermore, the
results had also shown that emotional intelligence (a second order trait) played an essential role in
allowing individuals to detect when they felt different. It was concluded that since individuals who
were extraverted, generally tended to be more open to new experiences and were more sociable they
therefore were able to identify the change in their behavior and personality more adequately than for
example individuals who were more introverted. Similarly, individuals who had shown that they
scored higher on the emotional intelligence test, represented a group of people who were able to see
change in their personality since they were attuned with their emotions, such as sympathy, empathy,
sociability, social awareness, etc. As a result, it was observed that to some capacity each order played
a role in identifying how the individual felt, however, what was crucial about the study was to realize
that while the traits

The Jockey by Carson McCullers (1)
In Carson McCullers The Jockey there is an uproar of objection to the actions of an owner of horses
from one of his riders. The jockey is a very petite man. Although, he is petite he has very strong
beliefs. (1) He has dinner with a bookie, the trainer, and a rich man. During the dinner the jockey
believes that something should be done for his friend who was badly injured on the race track.
Unfortunately, the men at the table do not wish to help the jockey s friend and believe that they have
done all they can do at the moment. (1) The opening of the story begins with imagery of the Jockey.
He is not dressed for the occasion and stands out, but not in a good way. (1) The story states, He was
wearing a suit of green Chinese silk that evening, tailored precisely and the size of a costume outfit for
a child. The shirt was yellow, the tie striped with pastel colors. (1) Ironically, the Jockey walked into

Herbal Medicine In Native American Medicine
Advanced medicine has it s advantages, but the medicine today mimics the characteristics of plants
used to help people way before man made treatments. Herbal remedies don t have many of the side
effects drugs have today. Looking into the roots of herbal medicine can make modern medicine more
effective, safer, and healthier for generations to come. Native Americans before they were exposed to
modern medicine and technology, only relied on plant based medicine. The Sumac tree was used often
in Native American culture for both food and health remedies. The Sumac is native to temperate and
subtropical zones and it was grown in North America. It was seen as a sacred plant that helped
improve the lives of the Native Americans. The parts that were usually used were the root bark, leaves,
and berries ( Herbal Medicine ). Sumac was very versatile in that it helped with many health issues the
Native Americans often faced. The active properties the plant contained were Calcium malate,
Dehydro Fisetin, Fisetin, Iodine, Gallic acid methyl ester, tannic and gallic acids, Selenium, and
Tartaric acid (Jackson, Deb, and Karen Bergeron. Sumac (Rhus Glabra) ). Usually the infusion of the
bark and roots held most of these helpful qualities. The mixture itself acted as an astringent, antiseptic,
alterative, and a tonic ( Sumac ) . The berries on the other hand are used mainly for bowel complaints.

Date The Chinese Economy in 2025 Introduction The rapid growth in the Chinese economy since
1978 has captured the attention of most of the international and business organizations. Some of the
people have negative views about the future growth of China, whereas, others fear that China will turn
out be a very strong nation in economic terms. According to Nicholas Lardy, huge economic problems
will be confronted by China as there is a great probability of social unrest in future in the People s
Republic of China. In addition to that, there would be an increase in the indebted state owned
enterprises. This increase in social unrest and nonperforming loans will lead towards a decline in the
economic growth of the Chinese Economy. (Holz 2005) Even though, the future prospects for the
economic growth of China are negative but the rapid growth of the People s Republic of China, in
economic terms, since the reforms of 1978 is undeniable. Chinese economy has an average Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) of 9.37 per year. In addition to that, China has also become one of the major
contributors in the world economy and has shown tremendous growth even in the times of recession

Analysis Of The Moment By Alain De Botton
When presented with rich perspectives of landscapes, individuals can develop a heightened receptivity
to their milieu, fostering their ability to gain an appreciation for the beauty that encompasses the
human experience. Through their engaging representations of real landscapes, composers can instill
optimism into the psyche of responders, allowing them to surmount the trivialities of the detached
consumer society. Alain De Botton s intricately structured travel memoir, Art of Travel, and Margaret
Atwood s poem, The Moment, conceptualise the resonance of such landscapes through a unique and
engaging form, allowing responders to cultivate an amplified admiration for their own existence.
In coalescing a variety of rich anecdotal and philosophical perspectives, De Botton facilitates a sense
of gratitude for the minute aspects of our accustomed landscapes. Through pathetic fallacy,
Continuous rain, confused gusts , the composer parallels his cynicism with the confused nature of the
physical landscape, ironically elucidating the notion that humans, narcissistically, impose their
pessimism on their habituated environments. De Botton s rich, unorthodox selection of imagery allows
him to subvert this notion, instead intimating that we must unearth the phenomena of mundane
landscapes, such as Hoppers Gas Station , to progress in the anomaly that is life. The cyclical ending
of the novel reiterates this notion, with an inclusive pronoun, We have become habituated and

Unfortunately, in many cases, people are at risk to live with heart complications for the rest of their

These several reasons should prove to the smokers that this habit puts their health in danger, and
causes many diseases that lead to death.
Unborn babies who have mothers who smoke are more likely to die of sudden infant death syndrome
(SIDS). The placenta joins the mother and the baby, which is where the baby gets food and oxygen.
When a mother smokes the placenta does not work as well as it should. The babies are also more

for a pregnant woman to stop smoking when the people around her do not smoke. When a baby is
born to a mother who smokes the baby will not grow well as it should. Many experts agree that
smoking is an unhealthy habit every one specially and for pregnant women and can not only hurt the

Internal Life Of Vivian Bearing, By Margaret Edson
To know and feel all this and not have the words to express it makes a human a grave of his own

Margaret Edson. The play examines the internal life of Vivian Bearing, a professor of seventeenth
century poetry and specializes in the Holy Sonnets of John Donne, suffering from Stage Four Ovarian
cancer, which is the final stage of this form of cancer, and is also terminal. From the beginning of the
play the audience is already informed that Vivian is going to die, which brilliantly takes away the
sense of hope from the audience that she may survive. This causes for the audience to focus more on
Vivian s final moments of her life instead of anticipating her death. I will be focusing on how Vivian s
perspective on her own life changes after her diagnosis. The reason for her change in perspective
throughout her treatment is due to a medical and psychological term called demoralization. I will be

The Hobbit Book Comparison
From the author of The Lord of The Rings trilogy, J. R. R. Tolkien, and the same crew behind their
film adaptations, Peter Jackson and his writing team, The Battle of the Five Armies is the final

Picking up from The Desolation of Smaug, this final third follows on with the dwarves as they attempt
to reclaim their homeland of Erebor, as the titular battle ensues on The Lonely Mountain, with the
Goblins and the Wargs fighting against the Men of Lake town, the Elves, the Dwarves and Eagles.

There are a few scenes missed out of the film at this point. First: Bard gives Bilbo two chests, one
filled with gold and one filled with silver. Second: Bilbo gives a silver and pearl necklace to the elven
king. And third: Bilbo, Gandalf, and Beorn travel around the north of Mirkwood and stay with Beorn
for a while. before departing from Rivendell.
Bilbo is shown carrying a chest when he says goodbye to Gandalf in the film, but it is not shown that
he and Gandalf dig up chest they found in the Troll cave. In the book, they split the treasure, placing it
in bags on their horses.
When Gandalf visits Bilbo at the end of the film, Balin also joins them in the book.

The first two instalments were also very different from the book, using characters we know from The
Lord of The Rings trilogy that didn t actually appear in The Hobbit, and additional plots to bulk the
adaptations out with Jackson making extensive use of the appendices published in the back of The

happens in this film, however, is completely unnecessary and only ends the franchise on a sour

The Leadership Style Of Leadership
When one thinks of successful leadership, words like power, authority, and control often come to
mind. Examining leadership in detail reveals that many different leadership styles exist. Some leaders
may be authoritarian, where their rules are law and enforced in a utilitarian fashion. Others may prefer
to lead in a more democratic manor, where employees help make decisions and feel involved in
workplace happenings. Robert Greenleaf, who at the time was an executive at AT T, developed
another style, servant leadership (Marquis, 2014). Though the terms servant and leader may seem
paradoxical when paired together, his style of leadership focuses on the idea that leaders should serve
those who work for them. This does not mean catering to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one of the lessons, the characteristics of good leaders are discussed. Honest and trustworthy, good
role model, caring, committed, good listener, able to hold people accountable, respectful, encouraging,
positive, enthusiastic, and appreciative are all agreed upon attributes (Hunter, 1998). While all of these
qualities are important, trustworthiness, respectfulness, and appreciation for others are essential for
nurses to possess in order to be servant leaders. Trustworthiness Trustworthiness encompasses
veracity, one of the principles of ethical reasoning (Marquis, 2014). The ability to tell the truth is key
in interacting with both patients and coworkers. Being viewed as someone who is trustworthy helps to
establish effective leadership. Employees who view a leader as honest are more likely to be honest in
return, while patients who trust their caregivers can be confident in their treatment (Marquis, 2014).
Advocating for a patient further shows trustworthiness by assuring him or her that the nurse values the
patient, and is working to attain the best possible outcome. Being trustworthy also means showing
humility in certain instances, like being able to admit when mistakes have been made or a situation
could have been handled differently.

consisting of that single edge. But if the total number of clusters exceeds the maximum number of
clusters thresholds K (e.g. 256) then we just from that edge.
Case 2. When u belongs to some cluster C, and v is not present in any cluster. In this case add v to
cluster C. If the cluster size of C exceeds the maximum cluster size threshold then split the graph into
2 partitions, using e.g. Kernighan Min Cut algorithm.
Case 3. When u is not present in any cluster and v is present in some cluster in C. The ... Show more

26: If (A belongs to a cluster C1 and B belongs to same cluster C1)
27: Add the edge to C1.
2.3.2 Combining the two: CST and Online Heuristic
Online Heuristic standalone. The problem with implementing the online heuristic standalone is we
need a set of K initial seed clusters so that the incoming edges can fall into the five cases with equal
probability. But if the online heuristic is applied with empty clusters, then most of the floating in edges
fall in CASE 1 i.e. making a new cluster, then we will have large number of clusters with single edges.
Then after the total number of clusters exceed the number of clusters threshold then the further edges
that fall in CASE 1 will be dropped, resulting in loss of many edges.
Online Heuristic with CST. To solve the above problem, we initially make the seed clusters with the
existing nodes/users using CST and once we have formed K equal size coherent clusters, we switch to
Online Heuristic for real time performance.
Note that the initial K seed clusters can be generated using any offline graph partitioning

Theme Of Isolation In Countee Cullen s Poem
At times many individuals feel isolated and disconnected with society. Literary works by Countee
Cullen, Paul Laurence Dunbar, and Robert Frost depicts an individual s isolationism and alienation
within society. In Countee Cullen s poem Incident , the speaker tells of a distant flashback of how they
first handly experienced being called out a derogatory name from the lips of an eight year old. In
Langston Hughes I, Too , the speaker expresses their witful sentiments in being forced to eat in the
kitchen, because they are seemed to be as a lesser human from their skin tone. In Claude McKay s
poem If We Must Die , the speaker rallies a heartfelt message to his supporters to continue fighting for
their cause, so their death would not be in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McKay uses simile in If We Must Die to show how and make readers feel a sense of isolation when
individuals are constantly tormented to discourage them from being accepted in society. In the poem,
the speaker valiantly expresses their desires to fight to the very end, as their enemies hunt them like a
pack of savage dogs, all the while cornering them into submission and death. The speaker says, If we
must die, let it not be like hogs/ Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,/ While round us bark the
mad and hungry dogs,/ Making their mock at our accursed lot (page 19). The speaker compares
himself and his group of supporters as hogs, making a statement to not be hunted and to be killed like
cattle. The speaker also compares the mad and hungry dogs as the other offending party tormenting
the speaker and his supporters. The overall message the speaker is trying to make is that, if the speaker
is going to die, he d rather not die like a cattle who is cornered by the mad dogs , which represents the
people in the society who are not accepting of the speaker nor his supporters. This is inferred as how
the speaker is chased out by the other offending party, showing a connection to how the speaker is
being alienated because he does not have a place in society. The people in the society, also referred to
as mad dogs are chasing him out and

  • 2. Book Report On Eric Ross Today I was finally granted a day off from work. The first place I knew I would head, after sleeping in, would be to the coffee house down on 1st Avenue. The leaves were just starting to fall outside. Soon winter would be here. The smell of fresh brewed coffee invaded my nose as I stepped inside the door. I walked up to the counter and viewed the numerous amount of tasty treats they had on display today. I ordered a double chocolate muffin with a caramel latte and then sat down on my most loved couch with my sketchbook and pencils. This couch had a lot of memories. Memories of me planning the kill and over analyzing every aspect of it to the memories of me and him cuddling on this couch to a cup of coffee and a good book. Eric Ross was in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I decided I would do a little research on him. How could I be so oblivious? The signs were all there, and I was so blind to them. I overwhelmed with the feeling of being used and manipulated. He was the man of my dreams till now. A tear trickled down my cheek as I read the article on some of his history. It wasn t a tear of complete sadness. This tear was a mixture of anger, sorrow and desperation. Little did I know, he had been married for three years to the woman who gave birth to his child 12 years prior. After more digging, I came across an article about his wife. However, the availability of long term credit has virtually disappeared making it difficult for producers to defer the costs of implementing new practices over several years (AMECAFE, 2009). The women face profoundly different catastrophes; however, each occurrence involves their families. In Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow Wallpaper, during an exchange between John and Jane, John explains, I beg of you, for my sake and for our child s sake, as well as for your own, that you will never for one instant let that idea enter your mind! (Gilman 137). Jane gives birth to a little baby boy, which is when her life takes a turn for the worse. Jane begins showing unusual, if not utterly insane, behavior, as well as depression and anxiety, which is a result of her post partum depression. In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily, he ... • 24. Franchising Benefits And Strategies Of Franchising Franchising It is said that today there is a total of 750,000 franchise establishments within the U.S. itself. Franchising is a long term agreement between two parties, and is when the franchisor grants the franchisee the right to use a trademark or trade name in a business process. In a franchise agreement the franchisee would in most cases purchase or lease the trademark or logo from the franchisor. Within this transaction the franchisee also pays its franchisor sales revenue or royalty fees. In return, the franchisee receives detailed and structured tactics, describing the process of how the business is run. These tactics include promotion, hiring and training employees, upgrading product or service, as well as maintaining design or décor (What is Franchising). It is common for people to think of franchising as an industry, and although it can be considered to be an industry, it can also be seen as a business model . Dr. Vinay Garg, a professor at Missouri State University took time researching franchising benefits and strategies. Garg has studied and surveyed over 1000 franchise businesses. He found that franchising could be a great opportunity for any individual to become an entrepreneur by starting his or her own business. Since franchisors such as McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts is well known to the public, the franchisee will find it less difficult to bring in customers (Mostyn). • 25. Artificial Selection And Its Effects On Our Health It would probably surprise most people to learn that broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, and kohlrabi all hail from wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea), due to a process called artificial selection. Over thousands of years humanity has manipulated plants and animals using artificial selection. However, we now have a different process called genetic engineering, which opens new doors to countless applications such as, genetically modifying plants to become cold, resistant. Traditionally we would have to rely on artificial selection, but now we can manipulate the genetic material of organisms. However, with new technology comes an issue of environmental impact. The very same organisms that we create can become exceedingly detrimental to the environment it s ecosystems. Concerns on the effects of these organisms on our health are justified as they can be a benefit or detriment. To better appreciate genetic engineering, we first must explore artificial selection and its history. Artificial selection is the process in which humans breed organisms based on physical traits they want to further enhanced or eliminate, in a way artificial selection relies heavy on the phenotype of the organism. Which is the physical trait expressed by genes. An example would be the domestication of the dog. Around 15,000 to 16,000 years ago, we began to breed wolves and actively select for tameness. Li et al. (2013), found this rapid evolution was probably driven by artificial selection during the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The participants chosen for the study, however, comprised of 102 individuals with a larger majority of females as opposed to males. The age range had been set between the ranges of 17 to 58 years with varying degrees of educational achievements. The results that were obtained indicated that extraversion (a first order trait) had played a key role in identifying when an individual felt different while they were speaking in another language. Where as, the other first order traits like language proficiency, age and gender were irrelevant. Furthermore, the results had also shown that emotional intelligence (a second order trait) played an essential role in allowing individuals to detect when they felt different. It was concluded that since individuals who were extraverted, generally tended to be more open to new experiences and were more sociable they therefore were able to identify the change in their behavior and personality more adequately than for example individuals who were more introverted. Similarly, individuals who had shown that they scored higher on the emotional intelligence test, represented a group of people who were able to see change in their personality since they were attuned with their emotions, such as sympathy, empathy, sociability, social awareness, etc. As a result, it was observed that to some capacity each order played a role in identifying how the individual felt, however, what was crucial about the study was to realize that while the traits ... Some of the people have negative views about the future growth of China, whereas, others fear that China will turn out be a very strong nation in economic terms. • 32. Analysis Of The Moment By Alain De Botton When presented with rich perspectives of landscapes, individuals can develop a heightened receptivity to their milieu, fostering their ability to gain an appreciation for the beauty that encompasses the human experience. Through their engaging representations of real landscapes, composers can instill optimism into the psyche of responders, allowing them to surmount the trivialities of the detached consumer society. Alain De Botton s intricately structured travel memoir, Art of Travel, and Margaret Atwood s poem, The Moment, conceptualise the resonance of such landscapes through a unique and engaging form, allowing responders to cultivate an amplified admiration for their own existence. In coalescing a variety of rich anecdotal and philosophical perspectives, De Botton facilitates a sense of gratitude for the minute aspects of our accustomed landscapes. Through pathetic fallacy, Continuous rain, confused gusts , the composer parallels his cynicism with the confused nature of the physical landscape, ironically elucidating the notion that humans, narcissistically, impose their pessimism on their habituated environments. De Botton s rich, unorthodox selection of imagery allows him to subvert this notion, instead intimating that we must unearth the phenomena of mundane landscapes, such as Hoppers Gas Station , to progress in the anomaly that is life. The cyclical ending of the novel reiterates this notion, with an inclusive pronoun, We have become habituated and therefore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The play examines the internal life of Vivian Bearing, a professor of seventeenth century poetry and specializes in the Holy Sonnets of John Donne, suffering from Stage Four Ovarian cancer, which is the final stage of this form of cancer, and is also terminal. From the beginning of the play the audience is already informed that Vivian is going to die, which brilliantly takes away the sense of hope from the audience that she may survive. This causes for the audience to focus more on Vivian s final moments of her life instead of anticipating her death. I will be focusing on how Vivian s perspective on her own life changes after her diagnosis. In the poem, the speaker valiantly expresses their desires to fight to the very end, as their enemies hunt them like a pack of savage dogs, all the while cornering them into submission and death. The speaker says, If we must die, let it not be like hogs/ Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,/ While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs,/ Making their mock at our accursed lot (page 19). The speaker compares himself and his group of supporters as hogs, making a statement to not be hunted and to be killed like cattle. The overall message the speaker is trying to make is that, if the speaker is going to die, he d rather not die like a cattle who is cornered by the mad dogs , which represents the people in the society who are not accepting of the speaker nor his supporters.
